You Can See Coldplay at the Linc for $20 (As Long as You Don’t Care Where You Sit)
The band released “Infinity Tickets,” which could be for anywhere in the stadium. Plus, how to win tickets to the June 8th show.
Get our weekly picks of what to do this weekend and the latest on Philly's arts and entertainment scene.

If you read our summer concert guide , you already know that Coldplay is bringing their Music of the Spheres world tour to Philly this week — Wednesday, June 8th at Lincoln Financial Field, to be specific. And if you looked into it, you may even know that they have some very VIP (and not at all inexpensive) ticket options.
Well, if you’re short on VIP-level funds but long to hear “Yellow,” “Fix You,” and “A Sky Full of Stars” played live under the Philadelphia sky, you are in luck. Coldplay today announced a brand-new kind of ticket that’ll allow fans to see them for just $20 per ticket (plus, of course, any applicable taxes and fees).
Here’s how the $20 Infinity Tickets work. They must be bought in pairs (each $20-ticket purchaser is restricted to just that pair); and the catch (or the fun of it, depending on your taste for surprise) is that you don’t know where in the stadium your seats will be. Ticket locations will be selected at random, and you don’t find out where you’re sitting until you pick the tickets up the day of the show. Will you be up in the nosebleeds? Will you be just a couple feet away from the stage? Who knows? Either way, you get to be there for $20.

Coldplay says they launched this new ticket program to make their tour more accessible to their fans. The band’s publicity team tells us they also teamed up with local organizations to give their Infinity Tickets to first responders, hospital workers, teachers, and members of the military.
In addition to their efforts to expand accessibility, Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour — in support of their ninth studio album of the same name — was also planned with sustainability initiatives , including one tree planted for every ticket sold, use of renewable energy, and what they describe as “power bikes and kinetic dancefloors, where fans can charge the show battery to power the C stage at the next show.” Even the LED wristbands you’ll get to light up the audience are made from compostable, plant-based materials.

Here’s How To Get $20 Coldplay Tickets
In an effort to make tickets to its North American tour accessible to fans of all financial means, Coldplay will offer a limited amount of $20 tickets. The “Infinity Tickets” program offers pairs of tickets for $20 (plus taxes and fees) for seats throughout the venue, from the nosebleeds to the front row.
Registration for Coldplay “Infinity Tickets” is open now through the band’s website . The band will release a limited number of “Infinity Tickets” for every show on the Music of the Spheres World Tour , set to begin on September 20th at Seattle’s Lumen Field . Tickets will be sold in pairs and randomly allocated anywhere in the venue. According to the fine print, these tickets will be “restricted to a maximum of two tickets per purchaser.”
This initiative comes as concert ticket prices continue to rise around the globe, especially for large stadium tours by internationally renowned artists. Of course, the leading current example is pop superstar Taylor Swift , whose massive The Eras Tour disrupted the entire concert economy . In its wake, governments from the U.S. to Brazil and beyond have taken renewed looks at the ways their live music systems operate.
Following COVID’s shutdown of the entire live music industry, ticket costs have climbed to historic heights in what The Wall Street Journal has dubbed “ The Year of the $1,000 Concert Ticket “. SeatGeek confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that the average cost of a concert ticket has nearly doubled in the last five years, up from $125 in 2019 to $252 in 2023.
Another poster child for heightened ticket prices is Bruce Springsteen , who made headlines in 2022 when his first global outing in eight years drew eye-catching price tags of up to $5,000 a ticket thanks to Ticketmaster ‘s controversial “dynamic pricing” model . Inflated prices climbed even higher still on the secondary market, however in the days leading up to the shows many scalpers on secondary ticketing platforms dropped their prices considerably in an effort to recoup their losses. In one example, tickets for Springsteen’s February concert in Tulsa, OK plummeted to just $6 days before the show . E Street has become the new Wall Street, with savvy concertgoers learning to buy low when others try and sell high.
What are Coldplay Infinity tickets and how to buy one at a bargain €20 for Croke Park concerts
Coldplay confirmed this morning that they will perform in Dublin's Croke Park on Thursday, August 29 and Friday, August 30 2024, subject to licence.
- 13:48, 20 JUL 2023
Coldplay will be coming to Ireland next summer for two shows in Croke Park.
After weeks of speculation, the rock band confirmed this morning that they will perform in the Dublin venue on Thursday, August 29 and Friday, August 30 2024, subject to licence.
The news came as the Yellow hitmakers announced a third run of European dates as part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour.
The new dates include the band’s first ever shows in Greece, Romania and Finland, as well as their first show in Rome since 2003 and first visit to Budapest since 2008.

To date, Coldplay have sold more than 7.5 million tickets for the tour, which has been receiving rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
Irish fans hoping to go to the shows in GAA HQ can register for first access to tickets in the presale, which begins on Tuesday, July 25 at 10am. Meanwhile general sale begins on Friday, July 28 at 10am.
It comes as the band have confirmed they will be making a limited number of Infinity tickets available for their Irish concerts.
Infinity Tickets are cheaper tickets for people who can't afford Coldplay’s usual ticket fee.
For the Dublin shows, they will cost around €20 each and must be bought in pairs.
The catch is that you can’t choose where you're sitting, so you might be right at the back or near the front - you're taking a gamble on where you're going to be in Croke Park.
MCD Promotions explained: “Coldplay have also confirmed they will make a limited number of Infinity Tickets available for the shows at a later date. Infinity Tickets are released for every Coldplay show to make the Music Of The Spheres World Tour accessible to fans for an affordable price.
“They will cost the equivalent of €20 per ticket. They are restricted to a maximum of two tickets per purchaser, and must be bought in pairs (which will be located next to each other).”
MCD said Infinity tickets will be “available for the shows at a later date” with full details to be confirmed.

Fans could see Coldplay for just €20 at Croke Park next summer
After the stress of attempting to secure Taylor Swift tickets , you'd be forgiven for wanting to swear off concerts for a while but if anyone could get us back in a virtual queue, it'd be Coldplay.
Following much speculation, Coldplay have finally unveilled plans for a third run of European tour dates which are scheduled for June, July, and August 2024.
The upcoming tour includes four shows at Croke Park in Dublin on Thursday, August 29, and Friday, August 30, 2024, as well as Saturday, September 1, and Sunday September 2, pending approval.
Presale for the Irish tickets started on Tuesday 25 July with those fans hoping to nab entry having to sign up for access on the band's website . This has now closed but what about those mysterious Infinity tickets?
What are the Infinity tickets?
Infinity tickets are just as magical as they sound. They are a lower-priced ticket which Coldplay have made for their world tour but they do require you to put a lot of trust in the universe.
The tickets cost just €20 each, are released in pairs, and only become available a few months before the concert happens.
This means that you have to trust that you’ll be lucky and be able to get them pretty close to the concert date instead of buying tickets when they go on sale a year before the show - but you could save lots of money.
If you do manage to nab Infinity tickets you won’t know where you’ll be watching the show from until you arrive at the stadium - talk about taking a chance!
MCD confirmed that a 'limited number of Infinity Tickets' will be made available for the shows at a later date.
So, if you're happy chancing your luck and holding off on buying tickets - or aren't lucky in the general sale - these could be a good option to still get into the concert next August.
When are tickets on sale?
Presale tickets - which fans had to register to have access to - went on sale on Tuesday 25 July 2023.
The tickets were available from 9am local time in Athens, Bucharest, Budapest, Lyon, Rome, and Helsinki and at 10am local time in Dusseldorf, Munich, Vienna, and Dublin.
The general sale for all cities will commence at 10am local time on Friday, July 28.
Where else is the band going on tour?
This new series of concerts will mark Coldplay's debut performances in Greece, Romania, and Finland. Additionally, the band will return to Rome for the first time since 2003 and visit Budapest for the first time since 2008.
The Music Of The Spheres World Tour, which started in March 2022, has been a massive success, with Coldplay selling over 7.5million tickets, making it the most popular tour in the past two years.
The tour has garnered praise from both fans and critics, earning the band accolades such as Favorite Touring Artist at the 2022 AMAs and Tour of The Year at the 2023 iHeartRadio Awards.
