The tour is informative and a nice way to learn the history of Budweiser. They also offer a VIP tour of the Clydesdales; I plan on taking it next time I am in town. The Results Tour does take you in the barn though, to see a few of the beautiful Clydesdale horses.
Take a free tour of the 1800s restored brewery, see the world famous Clydesdale Horses (if they are there), sample the beer, and grab a bite to eat or some beer swag. During the Christmas season they have lights, and there is a free event which is kind of like an old time Christmas, with all sorts of things for kids and adults to do.
Besides being a free tour with no reservations, you also get two free drinks . The tour itself is filled with the history of St. Louis. The brewery recently expanded and they now have opened a large beirgarten. The perfect place to hang out after the tour, unwind and grab some grub. If you are a beer fanatic you can spend an extra 10 dollars and go on the master brewer's tour, where one of the three brew masters will take you on an in-depth guided tour with a special beer tasting.
I was surprised it is a free tour! Good information and to top it off, at the end of the tour, you get two free beers!
Tours include the historic Brew House, Budweiser Clydesdale stable, beechwood lagering cellar, packaging plant, hospitality room were you get 1 free sample ( have to be 21 to get samples of beer, pop and pretzels as well) and Anheuser-Busch gift shop. Open daily.

We did the Beermaster tour and it was a wonderful experience. we came since I just turned 21, and everyone was beyond nice - they gave me a 21st birthday souvenir beer glass too. My little sister is under 21 and my mom can't drink, and the staff was extremely accommodating and made sure they still enjoyed the tour. I would definitely recommend doing this tour!
Recently took the tour, there were no Clydesdales anymore and the inside factory wasn't on so you couldn't see the bottling process . It used to be free and you would get 2.5 beers, now it's $10 and you get one 11oz sample. The tour was very very short and dry, also they wouldn't let you take any photos.

Hi Sue! We appreciate and value your feedback and have shared it with our team. We'd love for you to give us another chance in the future.
I come here every Memorial Day. It's a great place to spend a good portion of the day they teach you how the beer is made, where the products come from and even let you sample some at the end of the tour. They also offer a Beer Masters Tour which I have yet to try but have heard only good things. My favorite part is the onsite clydesdale horses, they're so beautiful. I suggest this tour to any one even if they aren't Bud fans.
I have been to the brewery light tours in the past however had a very disappointing experience this evening. We were charged $10 to park and it was not worth our trip! In the past, the lights went all the way down to the stables and all of the surrounding areas around the stables. This year it ended very shortly after leaving the shop. It was a disappointing night there and I would not go back again it's unfortunate that they have shortened the display of lights.
Good time, friendly workers Will do it again Biergarten was fun, and they have Bud Ice, love that stuff
WAS AWESOME!!!! Came all the way from CT and was well worth it!! Tour guide knee her stuff. Great experience all around.
Ten of us visited the Budweiser brewery on December 21st. We enjoyed the lights, seeing the Clydesdales, and for the most part, the tour. Those over 21 were offered free samples of Bud Light and the Budweiser glass. Although under 21's were charged the same amount of money, they could not receive an empty glass (against the law?)...but had no trouble purchasing same in the gift shop. The speaker was hard to understand because of the microphone "echo." The Gingerbread House was closed (weather related?) so no hot chocolate as advertised (disappointing to some.) I would still recommend - and did have a good time.
Had so much fun on this tour today. Met so great people. Our tour person was amazing. She was friendly and knowledgeable. The beer was amazing! Tried their new orange beer and freedom edition. Both were delicious! Highly recommend!
We had fun touring the brewery. Even the kids seemed to enjoy it. We did the upgraded $10 tour really only because it was the next tour they were doing. It included a souvenir glass and tasting straight from the tank ( which was very tasty considering I don't really like basic Bud). Tour guide was fun and knowledgeable. Tasting room is beautiful. I can envision a band set up in the corner and just hanging out all day. I wish there was an actual bar you could go to after the tour. Maybe there was and we missed it but I don't think so. The Clydesdales are a must see. Their barn area is beautiful. Could be a picnic area!
Awesome! Wonderful tour guide and great time. Highly recommend! We ate in the biergarten and service was excellent, food was real good. Happy hour prices can't be beat. Good time had by all.

Tour the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in St. Louis
Whitney Curtis/Getty Images
You can't talk about beer in St. Louis without bringing up one of its largest companies, Anheuser-Busch. The world-famous brewery has been a part of the city's landscape since 1852. The best way to learn about Anheuser-Busch and its beer-making process is by taking a free tour of the A-B Brewery in Soulard, just south of Downtown St. Louis . For the tours, go to the entrance at 12th and Lynch streets.
Visiting Tips
- This is a walking tour so make sure to wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Part of the tour goes outside, so dress for the weather as well.
- Children are welcome on the tour, but the brewery is not easily stroller accessible. Children will likely have to walk or be carried during parts of the tour.
- Fridays and weekends are the busiest times for tours. For smaller crowds, plan to visit on a weekday.
- Registration is not required to take a tour unless you are bringing a large group of 15 or more.
- The tour lasts for a little more than an hour. It ends with free beer samples and soda for those younger than 21.
What You'll See
There are three main things you'll see on a tour. First is the Budweiser Clydesdales and their stable. The Clydesdales have been the face of the brand since the 1930s. They make hundreds of appearances every year.
Then, it's a walk through the brewing and bottling areas to see where Budweiser, Bud Light, and other brands are made. This portion of the tour includes stops in the historic Brew House, the fermentation cellar, and the packaging plant. This is where you'll learn about the history of the company and how it grew into the brewing giant that it is today.
Finally, it's a trip to the tasting room for two free samples of A-B products. Soda and snacks are also available. After the tour, you can stop by the gift shop for souvenirs or hit the Biergarten for more food and drinks.
As you might expect, Anheuser-Busch does things in a big way even with its tours. Groups can be quite large, and tours move pretty quickly. There won't be time to stop and chat with the brewmaster about the quality of the hops. If you're looking for a smaller, more personalized brewery tour, try Schlafly Bottleworks, an independent craft beer maker in St. Louis.
If you don't mind spending a little money, you can sign up for Beer School before you take a tour. The half-hour class includes tastings, pouring demonstrations, souvenirs, and information about the brewing process. Another option is the Brewmaster Tour, which offers a more in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at brewery operations.
Parking and Transportation
The A-B Brewery is easy to get to by car, just off Interstate 55 south of Downtown St. Louis. There is no Metrolink stop nearby, so taking the train is not a good option. MetroBuses do run to Soulard, but with plenty of free parking, the best option for many is to drive.
Other Soulard Attractions
Soulard is a historic neighborhood that hosts a popular Mardi Gras celebration in February and an Oktoberfest party in October. The Soulard Farmers Market also draws crowds year-round, so there's plenty to see and do after your brewery tour if you're visiting at those times.
Popular Soulard Restaurants
If you're hungry before or after your tour, Soulard has some great restaurants that are worth a try. Barbecue lovers should stop in at Bogarts Smokehouse for its fantastic brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. McGurk's Irish Pub has been a popular destination for decades with its upscale pub grub, cold Guinness, and authentic Irish music. Another good bet is Molly's where you'll find drink specials, a wide variety of bistro fare, and live music.
