A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Will Hit The Road In 2023 For His ‘Me Vs. Myself Tour’

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie may have pushed back his new album , Me Vs. Myself , to avoid clashing with Drake and 21 Savage last week, but that hasn’t affected the rollout very much. Today, he announced the dates for the tour supporting the album, which begins February 7 in Denver, Colorado, and runs through March 24 in London.

The tour will follow the Bronx rapper’s upcoming show at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, which sold out within hours of going on sale. (Incidentally, Drake also has an Apollo show planned, which makes me wonder if they have the same booking agent or what.) The Apollo show will take place just before the release of Me Vs. Myself on December 6 (the album drops on December 9). Features on the album include Lil Durk, Roddy Ricch , and H.E.R., along with a few surprise guests.

Kicking off in Denver on February 2nd, the headlining trek will run through March 2023 with stops in Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago and more. Platinum-selling rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has announced an early 2023 tour across North America to support his brand new album 'Me Vs. Myself'. The 12-date trek takes place in February/March visiting Denver, Coralville, Oakland, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Washington, DC and Philadelphia. Yesterday (Jan. 30), he heightened the anticipation by revealing Lola Brooke will officially be his opening act. The two New York natives will hit the road for the North American leg on Feb. 7 in Denver. After blessing major cities like Chicago, Toronto, Boston, and more, they will conclude with a homecoming gig on March 4 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Last month, A Boogie dropped off his Me Vs. Myself album, a 22-track project with features from H.E.R., Lil Durk, Don Q, G Herbo, Roddy Ricch, and more. Prior to that was 2020’s Artist 2.0 , which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 111,000 first-week album-equivalent units sold.

After achieving viral success thanks to her “Don’t Play With It” single featuring Billy B, Lola Brooke kept her momentum going all throughout 2022 with songs like “Dummy Ummy,” “On My Mind,” “Gator Season,” and most recently, “Here I Come.” Earlier this month, the “718 Princess” officially announced she signed to Arista Records in collaboration with Team Eighty Productions.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is back with his new album Me vs. Myself .

Ahead of its release on Friday, the Highbridge rapper has revealed the tracklist. The 22-track set, divided between A Boogie and Artist, features appearances from Roddy Ricch, Lil Durk, H.E.R., Tory Lanez, and G Herbo.

The project also features Kodak Black, who reunites with A Boogie on “Water (Drowning Pt. 2),” a sequel to their 2017 hit, which was certified 7X Platinum and spent nearly 30 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.

“After I made this record, everyone I played it for said it felt like the sequel to ‘Drowning,'” said A Boogie. “So it was only right that I had Kodak jump on this to make another classic record.”

The album, which follows 2020’s Artist 2.0 , marks his best work yet. “It was a lot of negative things going on at the time I was making the album,” he told Apple Music. “I appreciate everything that literally happens in my life towards bringing it out to the music anyway. This feels like my best project in that way where I can really listen to something in the car, something in the crib at the same time I was going out, still hearing it in the club. This is my favorite vibe right now.”

Also look out for a deluxe edition, which will feature a collaboration with the late PnB Rock.

A Boogie wit da Hoodie saw his mother suffer an injury when 16 SWAT officers filed a search warrant and raided his New Jersey home in December 2020. He remembers seeing men with heavy firearms burst through the door with his mother rushing down the stairs, not knowing what would happen to her family.

Following the incident, Boogie reflected on the direction of his career and realized he needed clarity to help remove the turmoil away from his life. Isolation became essential to his growth as he took a hiatus from releasing music and honed in on his latest album,  Me Vs. Myself . Released last month, Boogie charged his way into his fourth Billboard 200 top 10 album, debuting at No. 6  

The 22-track album was stacked with features from H.E.R., Kodak Black, Roddy Ricch, Lil Durk, G Herbo, and Tory Lanez. Despite the starry guest list, it’s Boogie’s penchant for sticky melodies and punchy quips that kept fans enthralled during the hour-run marathon.

“In the beginning of this album, I purposely put myself through things to make the music, and I hated that about myself,” says Boogie. “I started the process thinking that I had to battle myself — like, have a rap song here, then sing here — but I started losing inspiration and experienced writer’s block for the first time in my career. 

“I eventually learned when you don’t want something to happen, it hits more and I learned that through isolation,” he continues. “I didn’t want that raid to happen, but it woke me up. And even with the little things, anything can happen in your life that drastically changes everything, like how you approach things.”

To honor his friend, Boogie released a deluxe edition of his new album with one lone new cut, featuring PnB, with all the proceeds going to his family. The record was the last one the “Selfish” rapper sent to Boogie, days before his untimely passing. 

“PnB’s death hit home for me because there was a time neither of us could even get a $1000 for a club walkthrough,” says Boogie. “When it comes to someone close to me passing away, it’s hard, but I can’t lose focus because I have to be responsible and find the balance to deal with those tough losses so I can properly help out in any way I can. Isolation helped with that. I didn’t realize how good isolating myself was until I saw how much time I was spending with family and how good that made me feel. When I got back in the studio, ideas were just flowing — and that was important, because I speak through my music.”

With all that’s happened to him in the last two years, Boogie is entering a chapter in his career that’s defined by growth with Me vs. Myself. He also hopes that his listeners can take that same idea away from the project.
