Welcome to Africa Safari South Serengeti

Lake ndutu - ngorongoro conservation area, stay connected in the bush all lodges now offer free wi-fi internet.

Africa Safari South Serengeti is a comfortable accommodation, located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and offers easy access to the crater, while at the same time being on the south side of Lake Ndutu, which is in the Serengeti National Park. The best of both worlds! The nearby airstrip offers connections to the other major airstrips and airports. The area is famous for the calving season of the Great Migration, an absolute highlight of the annual wildebeest migration. The short rains in November and December provide nutritious pastures for the wildebeest, which stay in the area until the end of the long rains. Most calves are born in January and February. The open grassy plains offer them some safety, but these young wildebeest attract hungry predators, such as lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas. Between April and November, the south-eastern plains dry out, but there is still an abundance of game in the area. There are in fact two water sources, Lake Masek and Lake Ndutu, where many wild animals come to drink. The 15 accommodations (9 Safari Comfort and 6 Luxury Glamping) form two wings with a restaurant tent and a bar/lounge tent in the middle. The classic safari tents are fully furnished with locally made furniture and have an en suite bathroom. There are also 5 Safari Tents available, with a shared toilet and shower.

Throughout the year there is an abundance of wildlife in the area, which makes it perfect for game drives.

Get the feeling of being very close to nature while sleeping under a canvas in the incredible environment of South Serengeti. The accommodation has its own private 8 m2 terrace with a comfortable seating area. Take in the incredible views, you might even see an elephant or giraffe walking by. The room is 32 m2 and is furnished with a king-sized bed and a single bed. The room is furnished with locally made furniture. You will find an ensuite bathroom which is separated from the room by a tent cloth, with a shower, European toilet and sink.

Along the shores of Lake Ndutu

When you are on your way from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater/ Lake Manyara or vice versa, you will pass the Ndutu area. From the border of Serengeti National Park/Ngorongoro Conservation Area it is only a 32 km drive, to Africa Safari South Serengeti close to Lake Ndutu, through a landscape full of Acacia trees.

Matiti Plains

The Matiti Plains is the main plain where the wildebeest calf from January to March. The Serengeti Twin Hills overlook this plain. This is where the pregnant wildebeest gather; open terrain and unobstructed views. Newborn calves can be on their feet within 7 minutes. They have to, because this area is also home to cheetahs and other big cats, which means lots of interaction between prey and predator.

The Gol Kopjes offer some of the best game viewing in Africa during the green season. This area has the highest concentration of cheetahs in Africa. Hundreds of tracks criss-cross the world-famous Gol Kopjes complex and the photographic opportunities are endless. With a little patience, there is a good chance of seeing a cheetah reach high speeds while chasing its prey.

The Triangle

With no permanent water source, much of the wildlife here can only survive during the green season. This is when the Triangle is a fantastic feeding ground with nutritious short grass for a staggering number of migrating herbivores, including wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and the large and small predators that follow the migrating herds. Later in the season, the area dries out and the grass withers, making it less attractive to wildlife.

There is a fully equipped private bathroom with bath or shower and free toiletries. Amazing location inside the park, wonderful staff, great food, and the tents are beautiful and very comfortable.

Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma

With garden views, Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma is set in Serengeti and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. We really loved our all-too-short stay at this spectacular camp, where tents face the Serengeti National Park, without any barrier, so that we woke up to giraffes walking by in droves at sun-dawn. The tents are basically little huts and very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant area is quite grand and features a second floor with a spectacular view across the wilderness. Highly recommended, especially when traveling from Masai Mara across the Kenya/Tanzania border.

Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge 4 stars

Offering an outdoor pool, Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge is nestled in the Western Corridor, near Grumeti River on a tree-clad ridge with sweeping views of the Serengeti National Park. Groves of acacia trees watered by sparkling streams cool down the property. The staff was very welcoming and made us feel at home. The views are amazing and I can't compare it to any place I have ever been. The food was great as well as the atmosphere.

Seronera Wildlife Lodge

With Serengeti National Park reachable in 16 km, Seronera Wildlife Lodge provides accommodation, a restaurant, a shared lounge, a terrace and a bar. The nearest airport is Seronera Airstrip, 2 km from the lodge , and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. Absolutely superb location in the middle of the Serengeti. The building is older though. There is comfort in knowing that it is a physical structure as opposed to a tented lodge. Food was good.

Lobo Wildlife Lodge

Offering an outdoor pool and fitness centre, Lobo Wildlife Lodge is set in Serengeti. Free private parking is available on site. Towels are available. Guests can enjoy multi-cuisine at the on-site restaurant. I was at the Seronera lodge,,and very satisfied .

Mbalageti Serengeti

The units in the lodge are fitted with a fan, safety deposit box and bed linen. While some of the units feature a minibar, fridge and sofa, all the units are fitted with a wardrobe and mosquito net. The private bathroom found in each unit has free toiletries. The food was exceptional; the accommodation superb; and the staff were wonderful and very eager to assist and make sure we were comfortable and happy. Very good value for money in an excellent setting overlooking the Serengeti Plains.

An amazing location just outside the park gates. Tents were fabulous. Staff were exceptional. So friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely. Amazing value for money. You don’t need to spend thousands on a lodge to visit the Serengeti. Could not fault this lovely lodge in any way.

Staff!! Such a lovely team! And the location was perfect, you had a beautiful sunrise and sunset and animals in the lodge (e.g. giraffe, antilope, buffalo, hyena we only saw at night). Serengeti Nationalpark is only a 5 min drive away.

It was great. The rooms were very nice, great food and a lovely staff. We especially enjoyed our trips with Moisanga. He was so kind and provided the best morning safari.

Osero has an excellent location in the Serengeti with wildlife able to roam into the camp. (We had a lion outside our tent one morning). The staff are all really friendly and welcoming, the food was good and the tents extremely comfortable and clean. We booked a guide through the camp and we got Francis - an excellent guide, really knowledgeable about the animals and where to find them and great company to be in a Safari truck with for four days.

We had a second trip to Sasakwa (and Sabora) in September. ... It is such a beautiful oasis in the African bush. I had forgotten just how serene and luxurious it is, After a month on safari it was a relaxing way to end our holiday. The food was amazing, the staff care just immaculate. I had a bit of a dizzy spell and had the expert ministrations of Francis the paramedic - felt in very safe hands. We still had amazing animal interactions with our wonderful guide Jeremiah. A leopard kill and my favourite Cheetahs and so many elephants at the dam. What a wonderful place Grumeti is and the work being done to preserve the African animals is so worthy of support. Our extra large luxury safari tents are all custom made from the finest canvas and brand new for the 2022 - 2023 season.  Our 4 Superb luxury honeymoon tents, 6 luxury safari tents and  3  luxury Safari Lodge style 2 bedroom family tents all  provide the comforts of home.  Inside you will find new luxury comfort King and Queen size beds,  an enjoyable sitting area, high pressure hot and cold running water, In addition each bedroom has an en-suite with flush toilet, sink and shower equipped with quality shampoo, shower gel and moisturizing cream.  Outside there is a covered patio and sitting area perfect for game viewing, relaxing and sunsets after your day on safari in the Serengeti National Park. Every luxury safari tent, dinning area and Bar tent are equipped unlimited internet access and with a two way radio for

We know the secret to happy clients is happy staff and we pride ourselves on having some of the happiest staff in Serengeti or any other Safari Camp in East Africa. They are family to us and soon to be family to you.

Enjoy either continental or English Style breakfast in the morning, our menu for lunch and dinner is always varied and with healthy recipes. For lunch we offer the option of a packed lunch on safari or a cooked 3 course lunch back at the camp, depending on your plans for the day. In the evening, our chef will prepare a delicious 4 course meal that can be accompanied  by a selection of the finest wines from South Africa or a drink from our fully stocked bar.  If you have food allergies, are vegan, vegetarian or Kosher, we are happy to accommodate you! But please let us know in advance of any special dietary needs.  

And, don’t miss our homemade desserts or cakes! (upon request).

A glassed in shower and toilet all with high pressure hot and cold water..  The built in wardrobe offers two full length mirrors, an abundance of space for both folded and hanging clothes and a suitcase storage area.  Outside you will find a hard wood platform deck with sitting chairs a table and cabinet to keep your shoes.  Plus an amazing view of sunrise, sunset and many wild animals

Inside Into Wild Africa extra large safari tents you will find a comfortable sitting area. writing desk and chair with unlimited internet access (please note this is Serengeti National Park and some times internet does go out or can be slow) and several universal power outlets. The room comes standard with an ultimate comfort queen sized bed but depending on your family needs the room can accommodate a configuration of 2 Queen beds or 1 Queen and 2 single beds or up to 4 single beds. In the ensuite bathroom you will find a vanity with sink and mirror, a makeup table with chair, light and mirror a private toilet and shower all with high pressure hot and cold water.,   Outside you will find a  deck with sitting chairs a table and cabinet to keep your shoes.  Plus an amazing view of sunrise, sunset and many wild animals

The Serengeti suite has many giclee prints like along with a beautiful male lion print over the love seat. Wildebeest, zebras, and giraffes fill this room along with fantastic photographs taken by Scott Smith, our TCWR resident photographer. The private deck of this suite boasts both views of the sprawling valley and beautiful sunrises.

Kalahari Suite at the Zulu Lodge

• The Kalahari suite is a cozy escape with an exotic theme of bamboo and jewel tones throughout. The artistic bamboo headboard above the Queen bed is complemented by original abstract art from Lisa Wilson and D. Arthur Wilson’s Wild Expressionism limited editions. As you relax on either the front or back decks, the gentle caroling of the big cats is music to your ears!
