Testimonials

Andrew took us out on Great Slave Lake for some big Lake Trout. He is a knowledgeable guide who knows this massive lake very well, and has the tools to provide a great experience. We went for the entire day, and now I am wanting to go back for some ice-fishing. Definitely consider Yellowknife Sportfishing Adventures if you are wanting to find some huge fish in Canada's North!

- Matthew Johnson

We had a great day out on great slave lake with Andrew. He without an doubt knows a lot about fishing the area and has lots of different tricks up his sleeve to catch those fish. All his equipment from boat to rods is top of the line. I’m giving a 5 star rating for not only the experience but just Andrews general attitude and ethic about making sure you have an great day. I look forward to booking a trip or two in 2019!

- Rob Leaver

I took my family out for a day trip this summer and we had the best time. From the time we were picked up at the boat launch until we were dropped off it was an unbelievable trip. We are very novice in skill and our Guide Jason was very patient and great at teaching us on how to use the equipment. We caught fish all day long and had a great shore lunch. We lucked out with the weather and felt safe with Jason as we travelled out to the East Arm and back. We will for such be booking again! Thanks Jason!!!!!

Fishing in The Northwest Territories

The Northwest Territories of Canada include the regions of Dehcho, North Slave, Sahtu, South Slave and Inuvik. Their remote landscape encompasses forest, mountains, Arctic tundra and islands in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Deh Cho Nahanni National Park Reserve centers around the canyons of the South Nahanni River and 90m-high Virginia Falls. The regional capital, Yellowknife, is on the north shore of Great Slave Lake.

The Northern Territories are famous for having great fishing for Northern pike, Arctic grayling, Arctic Char, and most of all, Lake trout. Canada’s Northwest Territories is a sparsely populated, huge wilderness area scattered with countless lakes and rivers, all loaded with fish. With so much water and so few people, fishing Northwest Territories is fantastic and you’ll likely get the all the fishing you want, all to yourself.

fishing trips northwest territories

The Northwest Territories are very remote, so plan on some driving, some flying or maybe even a boat ride mixed in as well to get to your destination.  You may have to do one, two or all 3 modes of transportation to get to your resort.  The fishing is worth it if you plan a trip here.  There is some world class fishing for northern pike, walleye, lake trout and some other cold water species too.
