Black Veil Brides are an American rock band formed in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 2006, and currently based in Hollywood, California.
The band is comprised of frontman Andy Biersack, guitarists Jake Pitts and Jinxx, bass player Ashley Purdy and drummer Christian “CC” Coma, but they were born out of Biersack’s imagination; he came up with the idea for the band and put them together, with everything from their name to their glam metal-influenced image being planned meticulously by the singer, who’s a few years younger than the rest of his bandmates. The group’s image is probably their defining characteristic - their dress code involves black leather pretty much exclusively and facial makeup is obligatory - but it’s something that they’ve begun to tone down as they entered the most recent stage of their career, one that saw them release their most successful record to date, “Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones”.
That album, a concept record, saw the band lurch away from metal and towards the hard rock style that their hit single “Fallen Angels” had hinted at back in 2011. By naming their most recent record after themselves - “Black Veil Brides” dropped in October of 2011 - they’ve solidified the notion that this iteration of the band’s sound is the one that they ultimately want to define them, and their live shows have shifted accordingly; rather than being the unhinged punk rock affairs of old, they’re instead far more focused on musicianship and connection with the audience than ever before.
Live reviews
It was a long time ago since this concert was but i can still remember it like it was yesterday and im not kidding i can hear the music the people shouting and how amazing it was. It all began with me being home sick scrolling trough facebook when someone asked on a group how many was going to see Black Veil Brides in sweden. I didnt think it was true but when i figured out i screamed of happiness my mother asked me why i was screaming and when i told her Black Veil Brides where coming to sweden she asked when and where do you buy tickets cuz i was going to go to that concert no matter what. I love my parents. Some time went tickets were bought and i was just waiting for the day to come. I got up early and for the first time i was going to take the train alone. The first train was no problem but when i was going to get the second train i missed it. I saw the train go and i ran for my life and i missed it. I dont like it but i cried alot, i called my mom and she came with the car and told me she got tickets for the next train dad fixed them. My day was saved so i took the next train and met my goodfather who was going to keep an eye on me at the concert. I live far away from Stockholm and it was a long trip with first train and then the hour long trip with car. I was very nervous my first concert i could have gone to many concerts but i had promised myself to wait til i could go on a Black Veil Brides concert. We parked the car stood in the line. My heart was beating and all kinds of cool people was standing in line. We got in and hanged our jackets my goodfather found a place to sit and i was just walking around watching and thinking. Was this a dream am i really here? So the concert started Fearless Vampires where pretty good. Like a storm was very good. I saw people wasnt so active as i thought they would be on a concert but they where calm and i felt pretty safe. I saw something coverd and i guessed it was CC`s drumms. Like a storm stopped playing and then everyone started shouting but Black Veil Brides were not coming out. I waited and waited and i got more and more nervous i was so afraid i would fangirl wich i dont wanna do. I worried got more nervous when suddenly they stood there. Black Veil Brides a few meters from me playing their music and i couldnt believe it. I felt warm and happy and so calm like i couldnt be happier i didnt fangirl but when they played i sang with my heart and the whole room sang. I cant explain the feeling but i promise the whole room sang together and no one was pusing me or anything everyone were so nice and careful. I was happy even if it was just a dream it would be the best singing the songs heaaring people around me singing together as loud as they could see Andy,Jake,Jinxx,CC and Ashley playing/singing and they looked so happy. I dont think they saw me but i dont care i just think they gave us a great show and my first concert is a memory ill never forget. The most magical moment was when they got off the stage and the hole room was shouting BLACK VEIL BRIDES! Together and they came back and they asked what song and again the hole crowd shouted IN THE END! And when they played and everyone sang together, i may sound like a child or something else but i dont care that song and all people singing it, it was magical it was magical for me and i believe it was for the other people to at the concert. I love the music and i will forever do after the concert i was so full of energy i hadnt drinked anything to make me that energic but i was because of the hapiness and i was sure it wasnt a dream. It is one of my best memories and i never wanna forget it and im writing this 5 months after the concert and still i can feel the magical feeling when im thinking back and still cant believe i was there. If i could thank Black Veil Brides in person i would hug them for being so amazing and giving people so good memories, hope, and great music that make people like me happy.

I know, from personal experience, just how dedicated the Black Veil Brides fanbase is; when I interviewed them whilst they were headlining the Kerrang! tour last year, they’d had to be rushed away from an afternoon signing session when hundreds of fans turned up and made the shop that was playing host to the event unsafe. The whole thing is the brainchild of frontman Andy Biersack, with their records tending to be complex, concept-driven affairs; sonically, meanwhile, they’ve been steered away from their metalcore beginnings towards a more commercially-viable hard rock/metal crossover. The strict leather and face paint policy that was in place in the early days seems to have fallen by the wayside, too, and live, there’s not a great deal of focus on the conceptual side of things; instead, the aim is to deliver a good old-fashioned rock show. Unsurprisingly, they really play to the crowd, encouraging mass singalongs on the likes of ‘Fallen Angels’ and ‘Knives and Pens’, whilst guitarists Jake Pitts and Jinxx are by no means shy of a solo. Their work rate is prodigious, too; after an extensive tour of the UK last December, they’re back for more of the same late this year, too, before they turn the focus to the next record - it might be your last chance to catch them for a while.
This band is absolutely AMAZING! I was really close to the stage, so I touched Andy's hand twice. But Ashley OMG Ashley loved coming over, he grabbed my hand, he winked at me, he sung into my camera, he STUCK HIS GUITAR OUT FOR US TO TOUCH, then he licked it!!! He then tossed picks (which he noticed I kept missing) so he made eye contact with me, he pointed at me, and tossed me a hello kitty pick, and when i caught it he smiled at me! This was my first concert, and it was the absolute best time of my life! Andy interacts with crowd a lot! And CC gave me a random piece of paper, but who cares? HE TOUCHED IT!
Falling In Reverse was also there, and they were awesome as well. The girl next to me cried the whole time so Ronnie grabbed her hand. Set It Off and Drama Club were also there! Ronnie started some moshing, so if you're on the floor, obviously, expect some of that!
I'm not too familiar with FIR but the bassist (I think) came and waved in my camera & they were pretty interactive with the crowd. The singer from Set It Off crowd surfed A LOT! Overall, this experience was really fun, BVB is my favorite!! Especially Ashley!
I've been waiting to have an opportunity to see Black Veil Brides for a few years now. Ever since I found a video for Falling Angels on the net.
I've waited hoping they would come to Canada so I could see this awesome band.
My wish finally came true and I grabbed tickets right away.
This is a high energy bunch of talented young lads that absolutely rock, and do they ever put on a show.
The set they did was a verity of songs from their newest release to their first album.
Andy had the crowd hopping the whole night and even mixed in a cover of Motley Crüe wish sounded just like that band was playing
As a drummer I was very impressed with CC and his drumming and his solo was incredible.
All in all I emplore everyone that has a chance to see them, please go you won't be disappointed.
I wish they were in a bigger venue though.
They should be playing arenas. They are that good.
I will definitely go see them again if given a chance.
Please go you won't be disappointed. They Are AWESOME!
Black Veil Beides was amazing. The Black Mass Tour was my first indoor rock concert. They really know how to put on a fantastic show and end it with a bang! They made contact with the audience. Ashley took someone from the front rows phone and started recording himself and the crowd. When some people were recording or taking a picture they would make eye contact and interact to let you know that they saw you. When they were playing Knives and Pens and Andy turned the mic to the crowd everyone started to sing back and they started smiling, Andy the most. You can see that they were having fun. When they released balloons at the end Andy took one that came to him and was trying to get static from Jinxx's hair. Everyone was laughing and having fun. You can truly see that they love what they do. When they finished everyone started shouting "One more song, one more song" they came back out and played In The End. It was a fanominal experience that I will NEVER forget.
First so you all who read this know Im bad at writhing.
Anyways I loved the concert it was amazing! I thought before that it was going to be really good, so when I got there it was so much more it was more then amazing. And the two other bands that was before was really good too. I had heard of the 'Fearless vampire killers' but never really listened to them before yesterday and Im going to start listing to them because they are fricking good. And there was this band there that I don't know the name of but they was really good to. And the next time they all together come to Sweden or alone I will go! The way they was present on the stage, I loved every min of it all. So if you ask me if it is worth going I will say: it fricking is worth every penny!!!
That was by far the most amazing and fun concert I've been to. BvB were amazing performers and just had fun on stage. It was so one of a kind. They were also super interactive with the crowd. Andy cut up his fingers on accident on his mic stand and just kept going even though you could tell he was in some pain. Falling in Reverse was also amazing! Ronnie threw his birthday cake on the crowd, which included me. That was fun and delicious. Set It Off was really great too, and that was the first time I heard them. Drama Club was pretty decent even though their music was a different genre but I still enjoyed it. The meet and greet with BVB was super amazing! I loved the whole event.
October last year I went to see the Black mass tour as my first concert, and a year later it still remains the best concert I've been to! Although I was too nervous to try to get to the front (it being my first gig and all), I still saw it all and the atmosphere was simply electric. I saw them again at warped this year and not much has changed - both times they were amazing performers and really interacted with the crowds, so much so that it really is impossible to look away from them. With other concerts I've grown bored during slow songs or long sets, but bvb bring it with every song. I'll definitely be getting tickets next time they're nearby.
Black Veil Brides headlined a tour with VV and Dark Divine. I went to IN just to see VV because I was so heartbroken that I missed VV in Chicago, so I just had to leave the state to go see them. Black Veil Brides was a +1.
This was my first time seeing Black Veil Brides. I wanted to wear my BVB bandana, but it was dirty, so I wore my Andy Biersack jewelry. I kind of wish I saw them back when Jake and Ashley were in the band. Nonetheless they sounded good, and Jinx was amazing.
They performed new songs and old songs like Perfect Weapon and Knives and Pens. Andy can still scream those songs too. I'll go see them again if they come to Chicago.
BVB's concert in Brixton left me walking on clouds for days. Well worth the trip from mainland Europe to London, the show was brilliant, beautiful, exciting, and last but not least excessively loud! This band gives everything every moment they are on stage, and every single song, according to me at least, is pure genius. Their performance was awesome, the pyrotechnics used enough but not too much, and if I could go back and replay the entire event over and over I would do so into eternity. Definitely worth the ticket money and crowded-ness. Just remember to bring earplugs so you don't go deaf.

BLACK VEIL BRIDES & VILLE VALO Co-Headline Fall Tour Of U.S. & Canada
General Onsale Begins Friday, June 2 at Time on LiveNation.com
This fall, the classic season for dark and romantic music, BLACK VEIL BRIDES and VV (VILLE VALO) will co-headline a massive tour in select cities across North America. Presented by Hot Topic, the BVB & VV 2023 tour (featuring special guests DARK DIVINE ) combines three unique bands who champion the heavy-hearted, hopeless, and broken with mixtures of high intensity and melody.
Produced by Live Nation, tickets to the tour will be available starting Tuesday, May 30 at 12 pm ET via presales with additional presales running throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, June 2 at 10 am local time on LiveNation.com. For more information on the presales visit BlackVeilBrides.net.
“We cannot wait to join forces with Ville Valo and give both of our audiences in North America an unforgettable experience each night,” says Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack. “This run has been in the works for quite a while. We couldn’t be happier now that we can finally share the news. Ville is an icon. We have all been fans of his not only for his work in the hugely influential band HIM but as a torchbearer for an entire generation of rock fans and musicians.”
“There’s something tinnitus-inducingly romantic about the idea of being sandwiched nightly between Black Veil Brides and Dark Divine on this autumnal trek across North America,” muses Valo. “And imagining us explore the architecture of doom and gloom from three distinctly different musical perspectives has already made the bats in my belfry suitably ravenous.”
Andy adds, “This tour is a dream come true and will be something special. Dark Divine is new to the scene but garnering a lot of attention quickly and rightfully so. They are hands down one of the best young bands out there, and we are certain the BVB Army and VV fans will love them.”
Committed to uncompromising expression, with a foundation in hard rock tradition and rule-breaking iconoclasm, Black Veil Brides is a transcendent celebration of life-affirming power and anthemic catharsis. A gothic vision first summoned in a small town by an isolated kid fascinated with death, rock, theatricality, and monsters (both real and imagined), Black Veil Brides is now a postmodern heavy metal institution with a legion of like-minded fans and supporters worldwide.
2021’s The Phantom Tomorrow produced BVB’s first Top 10 single, “Scarlet Cross.” Last year’s The Mourning EP offered similar success with “Saviour II,” joining a rich catalog that includes “Knives and Pens” (over 160 million views on YouTube), the certified gold “Fallen Angels,” and the recently certified platinum “In the End.” (It’s possible Black Veil Brides may even release another brand-new song in the not-too-distant future…)
HIM, renowned as one of the most commercially successful Finnish bands of all time, has sold over ten million records. Ville Valo, the band’s frontman, released a series of beloved albums with HIM from 1997 through 2013, boasting influential modern goth-rock anthems like “Right Here in My Arms,” “Join Me in Death,” “Buried Alive by Love,” and “Rip Out the Wings of a Butterfly.” Declaring Neon Noir a perfect record for fans of HIM, Ghost, and Evanescence, Kerrang! wrote, “If you’ve been seduced in Mr. Valo’s musical twilight before, then you can now prepare to pulse in the glow of the heartagram once again.” In a VV cover story, Valo told the magazine, “It is a continuation of what I’ve done in the past and what might happen next.”

“We cannot wait to join forces with Ville Valo and give both of our audiences in North America an unforgettable experience each night,” said Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack of the upcoming trek, which is appropriately being presented by Hot Topic. “This run has been in the works for quite a while. We have all been fans of his not only for his work in the hugely influential band HIM but as a torchbearer for an entire generation of rock fans and musicians.”
Added Valo, who released a solo album back in January under the VV moniker: “There’s something tinnitus-inducingly romantic about the idea of being sandwiched nightly between Black Veil Brides and Dark Divine on this autumnal trek across North America. And imagining us explore the architecture of doom and gloom from three distinctly different musical perspectives has already made the bats in my belfry suitably ravenous.”

BLACK VEIL BRIDES And VILLE VALO Announce 2023 North American Co-Headlining Tour
BLACK VEIL BRIDES and VV (Ville Valo) will co-headline a massive tour in select cities across North America
Presented by Hot Topic , the “BVB & VV” 2023 tour (featuring special guests DARK DIVINE ) combines three unique bands who champion the heavy-hearted, hopeless, and broken with mixtures of high intensity and melody.
Produced by Live Nation , tickets to the tour will be available starting Tuesday, May 30 at 12 p.m. ET via presales with additional presales running throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, June 2 at 10 a.m. local time on LiveNation.com. For more information on the presales visit BlackVeilBrides.net.
“We cannot wait to join forces with Ville Valo and give both of our audiences in North America an unforgettable experience each night,” says BLACK VEIL BRIDES frontman Andy Biersack . “This run has been in the works for quite a while. We couldn’t be happier now that we can finally share the news. Ville is an icon. We have all been fans of his, not only for his work in the hugely influential band HIM but as a torchbearer for an entire generation of rock fans and musicians.”
“There’s something tinnitus-inducingly romantic about the idea of being sandwiched nightly between BLACK VEIL BRIDES and DARK DIVINE on this autumnal trek across North America,” muses Valo . “And imagining us explore the architecture of doom and gloom from three distinctly different musical perspectives has already made the bats in my belfry suitably ravenous.”
Andy adds: “This tour is a dream come true and will be something special.
2021’s “The Phantom Tomorrow” produced BVB ‘s first Top 10 single, “Scarlet Cross” . Last year’s “The Mourning” EP offered similar success with “Saviour II” , joining a rich catalog that includes “Knives And Pens” (over 160 million views on YouTube ),the certified gold “Fallen Angels” , and the recently certified platinum “In The End” .
HIM , renowned as one of the most commercially successful Finnish bands of all time, has sold over ten million records. Ville Valo , the band’s frontman, released a series of beloved albums with HIM from 1997 through 2013, boasting influential modern goth-rock anthems like “Right Here In My Arms” , “Join Me In Death” , “Buried Alive By Love” and “Rip Out The Wings Of A Butterfly” .
Declaring VV ‘s solo debut, “Neon Noir” , a perfect record for fans of HIM , GHOST and EVANESCENCE , Kerrang! wrote, “If you’ve been seduced in Mr. Valo ‘s musical twilight before, then you can now prepare to pulse in the glow of the heartagram once again.” In a VV cover story, Valo told the magazine, “It is a continuation of what I’ve done in the past and what might happen next.”

BLACK VEIL BRIDES Advocate For American Red Cross And Blood Donations
In support of the American Red Cross , BLACK VEIL BRIDES are hosting a virtual blood drive during the U.S. "Bleeders" tour, inspired by the band's forthcoming single "Bleeders" . The trek kicks off on April 25 in San Francisco and runs through May 25 in Los Angeles. DARK DIVINE , CREEPER and GHOSTKID will provide support on the tour.
Every pint of blood has the potential to save as many as three lives, so this combined effort between the band and fans can have a profound impact.
Fans attending the upcoming tour can present their proof of a blood donation to the American Red Cross (e-mail, app confirmation, donation photo, sticker, etc.) when they visit the BLACK VEIL BRIDES merchandise booth to receive an exclusive merchandise package, consisting of a signed poster, pin and patch.
BLACK VEIL BRIDES states: "As Bleeders, it's our mission to effect positive change. Help us help others in this time of need."
Fans can watch a 10-minute mini documentary, which traces the history of the band — from the humble beginnings through the upcoming single and highlighting the so-deep-it-hits-marrow connection that BLACK VEIL BRIDES have with fans. The band also provides some insight into the origin story of "Bleeders" , which is inspired by Sweeney Todd .
