Die BOSS Vienna Padel Open 2023 waren ein riesengroßer Erfolg.

Tausende Menschen strömten in der Turnierwoche in die Steffl Arena und sorgten für Gänsehaut-Atmosphäre. Die internationalen Padel-Superstars zeigten sich vom Flair in Wien begeistert.

Bei den BOSS Vienna Padel Open gab es alles zu sehen, was die World Padel Tour auszeichnet: Spektakuläre Ballwechsel, atemberaubende Rallyes und jede Menge Emotionen.

Äußerst zufriedenstellende Bilanz

Grande Finale bei den BOSS Vienna Padel Open in der Steffl Arena! Sowohl bei den Damen als auch bei den Herren sicherten die topgesetzten Duos die Titel. Am Sonntag verwandelte sich die Arena in Kagran noch einmal in einen Hexenkessel – tausende Menschen wollten den besten Padel-Spieler:innen der Welt zusehen.

Die Sieger:innen erhielten neben dem Preisgeld auch neue Uhren von Certina - ein weiteres Add-On, das die BOSS Vienna Padel Open einzigartig macht.

Große Zufriedenheit herrscht auch beim Veranstalter: Die Erwartungen wurden übertroffen, über 15.000 Fans strömten in der letzten Woche in die Steffl Arena. „Letztes Jahr waren es 10.000 Fans, wir haben auf eine deutliche Steigerung gehofft – das ist uns gelungen. Danke an das gesamte Team für den unermüdlichen Einsatz, so ein Event kann nur dank zahlreicher helfender Hände zum Erfolg werden“, sagt Turnierdirektor Dominik Beier.

Das Wachstum ist messbar und spürbar. „Die Stimmung in der Halle war durchgehend großartig. Internationale Studien besagen, dass pro Zuseher:in im Folgejahr eineinhalb kommen. Diese Zahlen haben wir erreicht. Man merkt, dass viele Fans im Thema sind und die Spieler:innen kennen. Dieses positive Gefühl nehmen wir gerne mit.“

Auch das Feedback der Spieler:innen sei äußerst positiv. „Sie schätzen die kurzen Wege und das Rundum-Service. Mehrere Spieler:innen haben uns bestätigt, dass es das beste Turnier außerhalb Spaniens ist. Diese Rückmeldungen freuen uns besonders.“

Ende September veranstaltet Beier mit seinem Team in Düsseldorf die BOSS German Padel Open und damit das erste WPT-Turnier in Deutschland.

Die Vienna Padel Open kehrt nach der Premiere im Vorjahr nach Wien zurück und findet dieses Jahr von 20. bis 28. Mai in der Steffl Arena statt. Die World Padel Tour, die größte Padel-Turnierserie der Welt, umfasst in diesem Jahr 27 Turniere.

Die Vienna Padel Open setzen auf einen neuen Termin und einen erprobten Schauplatz: Im Vergleich zum Vorjahr findet das WPT-Turnier zwei Wochen früher statt, Ende Mai statt Anfang Juni. Austragungsort ist einmal mehr die Steffl Arena, wo im Vorjahr die Premiere absolviert wurde.

„Wir wollten das Turnier bewusst etwas früher ansetzen, Ende Mai ist aus unserer Sicht das Idealszenario. Die Steffl Arena hat sich als Schauplatz mehr als bewährt – wir haben dort alles, was wir brauchen. Die Spielerinnen und Spieler waren im letzten Jahr begeistert von den kurzen Wegen. Das ist international einzigartig“, sagt Dominik Beier , Managing Director von e|motion und Turnierdirektor der Vienna Padel Open. Zuletzt wurde ein Joint Venture zwischen e|motion und der WWP Group ins Leben gerufen, um die Vienna Padel Open sowie weitere WPT-Turniere im DACH-Raum auszubauen und zu professionalisieren.

 „Wir haben bei der Premiere im letzten Jahr viel gelernt. Einiges ist bereits sehr gut gelaufen, das Feedback der Fans und Partner war äußerst zufriedenstellend. In diesem Jahr wollen wir den nächsten Schritt machen und noch mehr Leute erreichen. Die Vienna Padel Open sollen zum Fixpunkt im heimischen Sportkalender werden. Spektakuläre Ballwechsel, großartige Stimmung, perfektes Rahmenprogramm – die Vienna Padel Open sind für die ganze Familie. Der Party-Faktor darf natürlich auch nicht fehlen.“

Österreich wird von 20. bis 28. Mai in der Steffl Arena auch auf dem Court vertreten sein: Dem Veranstalter steht eine Wildcard zur Verfügung, die für dieses Jahr sportlich vergeben wird. Bei der Cupra Road to Vienna Padel Open 2023 kämpfen Österreichs beste Padel-Spieler um einen Startplatz bei den Vienna Padel Open. Als Turnierbotschafter konnten passionierte Padel-Spieler gewonnen werden: Ex-Nationalspieler Marc Janko und Radiomoderator Philipp Hansa. Beide sollen im Vorfeld dafür sorgen, noch mehr Menschen für die Vienna Padel Open zu begeistern und werden während der Turnierwoche auftreten. Auch eine sportliche Turnierbotschafterin soll noch präsentiert werden.

Der KaffeehausTALK ist eine abwechslungsreiche, informative Mischung aus Sportcast und Educast – hochkarätige Gäste inklusive.

Constanze Weiss ist 37 Jahre jung und als Moderatorin bei Sky Sport Austria eines der Gesichter des Pay-TV-Senders in Österreich. Dass sie heutzutage vor der Kamera steht, war für die Tochter von ORF-Sportreporter-Legende Erich Weiss nicht geplant.

Denn die Mutter einer sechsjährigen Tochter verbrachte in ihrer Jugend viel Zeit am Golfplatz und begann ihre berufliche Karriere neben ihres Studiums an der FH Wien für Tourismusmanagement in der Medienbranche – zuerst als Redakteurin beim Medianet Verlag, wo sie über Golf schrieb. Schon während des Studiums war ihr klar, dass sie eigentlich nicht in der Hotelbranche landen wollte. Somit wechselte sie nach Abschluss ihres Studiums in die PR-Branche, und war zunächst zwei Jahre lang Teil der Agentur Mensch & Marke im Presseteam des Nordischen Kombinierers Felix Gottwald.

Aus privaten Gründen übersiedelte sie in weiterer Folge nach Innsbruck, machte sich selbstständig und übernahm die PR für Olympiasieger und Weltmeister der nordischen Kombination, Bernhard Gruber, und Andreas Prommegger, Weltmeister im Snowboard. Auch in dieser Zeit leitete Constanze die Media-Abteilung des Olympischen Komitees der Jugend Winterspiele 2012 in Innsbruck.

2011 folgte dann der nächste Schritt: Die damals 25-Jährige wurde zu einem Casting von ServusTV eingeladen – und somit startete die Karriere als Moderatorin, wo sie vier Jahre lang in Salzburg hauptsächlich Eishockey und andere Red Bull Sportarten wie Crashed Ice, Air Race, Erzberg Rodeo moderierte, oder aber auch im klassischen Frühstücksfernsehen on air war. 2015 kehrte Constanze dann nach Wien zurück, nachdem Sky Sport Austria sie abgeworben hatte. Zunächst, um eine Eishockey-Redaktion aufzubauen, um danach Schritt für Schritt in den Fußball zu wechseln.

Wie reflektiert sie nun heute die Karriere im Sportjournalismus, ausgestattet mit einem bekannten Nachnamen und mit viel Freiheit in der Berufsgestaltung? Was macht  gute PR-Arbeit oder Moderation aus? Wie hat sich das Geschäft entwickelt? Welche Rolle spielt ihr Geschlecht in der Männerdomäne Fußball? World Padel Tour: There will also be a guest performance in Vienna in 2023

The calendar for the World Padel Tour also includes an appearance in Austria this year. At the end of May, the best players in the world will be back in Vienna.

There is still a good week left before the new season of the World Padel Tour starts in Abu Dhabi. Although the Spanish tournaments still play a dominant role in the updated calendar, Austrian padel fans can look forward to world-class sport again. because from May 22nd to 27th Juan Lebron, Alejandro Galan and Co. will be guests again in Vienna.

There was a little surprise at the premiere in 2022 in the Vienna Padeldome. Because in the dramatic endgame it was not Galan/Lebron who prevailed, but Sanyo Gutierrez and Augustin Tapa. The local heroes Christoph Alten and David Krenn gained important experience, but were eliminated on lap one. Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez, seeded number two, prevailed in Vienna for women.

After kicking off in Abu Dhabi, the tour heads to South America, with stops in Argentina, Chile and Paraguay. A total of six tournaments in the Masters series are planned, with the grand final taking place in Barcelona in mid-December, as was the case last year. As usual on the World Padel Tour, men and women compete in parallel during the tournament weeks.

Mai werden die Vienna Padel Open als Teil der World Padel Tour in der Wiener Steffl Arena ausgetragen. Ein so großes Turnier wie die Vienna Padel Open kann nicht mal eben innerhalb von ein paar Tagen auf die Beine gestellt werden. Es gebraucht viele Monate Planungszeit, unzählige Helfer*innen und viel Kraft. Mittlerweile werden die letzten Vorbereitungen vor Beginn des renommierten Padel-Turniers vorgenommen: Während vor kurzem noch das österreichische Eishockey-Nationalteam die Steffl Arena unsicher gemacht hat, wird die Eisfläche nun abgetaut und der Center Court sowie ein Nebencourt in der Haupthalle errichtet, sodass schon bald die besten Padel-Spieler*innen der Welt bei den Vienna Padel Open 2023 ihr Können beweisen können.

Im Rahmen der „CUPRA Road to Vienna Padel Open“ , Österreichs größter Padel-Turnierserie, wurden Wildcards für die Vienna Padel Open vergeben. Eine weitere Wildcard für die Qualifikation für sich sichern konnten außerdem auch der ehemalige Fußball-Star Marc Janko und sein Padel-Partner Dominik Bierent . Marc Janko ist zudem Turnierbotschafter und aktuell in den Top 35 der österreichischen Padel-Rangliste.

Im Anschluss an die Vienna Padel Open Pressekonferenz Ende April 2023 duften zahlreiche Promis ihr Können auf dem Court zeigen. Nicht nur Turnierbotschafter Marc Janko, sondern auch Stars wie sein ehemaliger Teamkollege Andreas Ivanschitz, Boxer Marcos Nader sowie Kabarettist Klaus Eckel standen auf dem Spielfeld und waren mit unvergleichlicher Begeisterung dabei.

Die Padel-Leidenschaft hat mich schon vor einiger Zeit gepackt. Es ist ein genialer Sport, es geht hin und her, man kommt trotzdem schnell rein. Richtig cool, was hier aufgezogen wurde – hoffentlich kann ich in diesem Jahr auch bei den Vienna Padel Open als Zuseher dabei sein. Ehemaliger Fußball-Profi Sebastian Prödl

Das Padel-Promi-Turnier war sichtlich ein voller Erfolg, wie auch Turnierdirektor Dominik Beier erzählt:

Man sieht, dass Padel enorm gewachsen und mittlerweile vielen Menschen ein Begriff ist. Die Promis haben sich gut geschlagen und Talent bewiesen, vielleicht schlägt ja die eine oder der andere eine Padel-Karriere ein. Turnierdirektor Dominik Beier

Auf der Padel Weltrangliste haben eindeutig die spanischen Spieler*innen die Nase vorne. Den höchsten Rang belegen bei den Herren keine Geringeren als Juan Lebrón und Alejandro Galán , die beide schon so einige große Turniere für sich entscheiden konnten. Gefolgt werden die Padel-Profis von Sanyo Gutiérrez und Agustín Tapia , die sich bei den Vienna Padel Open 2022 den Titel sichern konnten.

Über Platz eins der Frauen bei den World Padel Tour Rankings dürfen sich die Gewinnerinnen des letzten Padel-Opens in Wien, Paula Rosemaría und Ariana Sánchez , freuen. Direkt an nächster Stelle stehen die Favoritinnen Alejandra Salazar und Gemma Triay .

Schon die Wien-Premiere 2022 in der Steffl Arena hinterließ die Zuschauenden begeistert und machte die Vorfreude auf die Vienna Padel Open 2023 umso größer. Mehr als 10.000 Fans genossen das Spektakel in der Hauptstadt und feuerten ihre Favoriten lauthals an. Beim ersten World Padel Tour-Turnier im deutschsprachigen Raum traten über 150 Padel-Spieler*innen gegeneinander an und insgesamt 200.000 Euro wurden an Damen und Herren ausgeschüttet. Auch Turnierdirektor Dominik Beier zeigte sich zufrieden:

2022 tournament closure

The largest padel circuit in the world, World Padel Tour (WPT) , put the final touch on the 2022 season on December 18 at the Estrella Damm Barcelona Masters Final 2022 with the victories of the No. 1 couples on the world paddle circuit, Juan Lebron - Ale Galán and Alejandra Salazar - Gemma Triay, who They made us enjoy two finals full of emotions and pure spectacle padelistic. The 2022 season has left us great moments, with a hegemony in the men's WPT circuit by the most acclaimed couple, Lebron - Ale Galán and with a change of titles in the women's WPT circuit ranking, Gemma Triay - Alejandra Salazar snatched them the title of No. 1 in the last Masters of the year to the couple Ari Sanchez - Paula Josemaría. In WPT 2022, 22 events were held in total, 3 of them on the American continent and the rest on European territory.

2023 Tournament

The first open of 2023, the players have made the leap to the Arabian Peninsula to play the first Master of the year, the Abu Dhabi Padel Master 2023 between February 20 and 26  both in the male and female WPT categories. It is the first event held by the WPT circuit in the United Arab Emirates, where they increasingly enjoy this sport. The  winners  of this first tournament of the year, in the women's category Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría   and  Tapia and Coello men's category.

The players have had a week of rest in the WPT tournament before starting the tests on the American continent. Throughout the month of March, they will be in 3 different countries in South America promoting the WPT circuit.

The following event was held in the province of La Rioja, Argentina at the SuperDomo stadium, The Rioja Padel Open 2023 between March 6 to 12.  The winners of this first tournament of the year, in the  female category Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar.  In the  Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello repeat the men's category.  This couple has started the season spectacularly, taking home the first two trophies of the championship.

In the capital of Chile, Santiago, the Chili Padel Open 2023 from March 13 to 19  at the Universidad Católica sports club, it is the first WPT circuit event that has taken place in the country of the player Javier Valdés González. The winners repeat themselves,  in the  female category Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar.  In the  Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello repeat the men's category.  

To conclude the American tour, the days From March 20 to 26, Paraguay was held in Asunción Padel Open 2023  at the SND Arena stadium in Asunción with capacity for 5,500 people. The winners repeat themselves in both the women's and men's categories. Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar are very fit and win. For the men's team Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello. 

To end the month of March they return to Europe, to Spain to compete in the Open 500 in Reus, Tarragona.

It has been done  during the month of April,  in the wonderful city of Granada Granada Open giving as winners  in the  women's category Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría who with this victory reach No. 1 in the WPT ranking, and men's category Tapia and Coello. Between April 10 and 16 we enjoyed this Open 1000. At the end of these two events in the Iberian Peninsula, the tournament has headed to  Western Europe, Belgium. Known for its medieval cities, it is one of the headquarters of the European Union and NATO. The tournament, an open 1000, was held in the city of Brussels during April 24 and 30. Leaving Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría as winners again in the women's category and Tapia and Coello in the men's category.

With the magnificent spring weather and approaching the summer period, we return to Spain, and we will have the opportunity to enjoy an open 500 and an open 1000. First it will be held on the coast of the Valencian community, in Alicante, between May 1 and 7.  El Segundo in the north of Spain, in the city of Vigo between May 8 and 14 . We will enjoy two weeks in Spain with these magnificent tournaments. 

We pack our bags and without pauses we go to the city of Copenhagen , in Denmark. In this country a open 1000 between May 15 and 21 . Once the tournament is over, all the members of the tournament will travel 1,115 km to reach Vienna , the capital of Austria. Where this open 1000 will start the next day. The tournament will be played between May 22 and 28.

We return to Spain, to enjoy the Marbella Master , between May 29 and June 4.  This tournament leaves as winners: Arturo Coello or Agustín Tapia with a score of 16,875 and 16,250  points respectively, being No. 1 and No. 2 in the WPT ranking. On the female side of the table we have the winners Paula Josemaría and Ariana Sánchez sharing number 1 with 21,140  points. An important appointment on the calendar that we cannot miss. The next tournament starts on June 5 and until the 11th , we are talking about open 500 in the city of Albacete . It is new for this year on the World circuit Padel Tour 2023. 

The next tournament will be played in France , an open 1000 that will be played between June 12 and 18.  Once this tournament ends, 3 consecutive tournaments will start in Spain. Valladolid  will be held at the end of June , and in the middle of summer Valencia and Malaga  during the month of  July . 

We will enter the summer break where we will have a few weeks of rest and the The Open 1000 will start in Finland on August 28  which will be played until September 3 in the city of Tampere. It will be the second consecutive event that the circuit holds in the Nordic country, last year the Tampere Exhibition 2022 took place which, due to its success, a WPT event with an Open category will take place in 2023. .

At the nineteenth stop of the championship we will meet the capital of Spain madrid. During September 18 and 24  we will enjoy u n Master who always offers a brutal show. 

Ending the month of September and in the month of October we find Germany, the Netherlands, and two tournaments in Spain (Santander and Menorca). It must be taken into account that the  Santander's open 500 has undergone modifications  on the dates, being the definitive ones between October 16 and 22  and the same has also happened with the Star   Menorca, with the final date set between October 23 and 29.

The last three bullfighting tests before the grand final will be in Malmö, Buenos Aires and in Mexico. All during the month of November, where we will prepare to approach the last appointment of 2023. 

To put the finishing touch to this spectacular season, the Final Master in Barcelona between December 14 and 17. 

WPT 2023 has confirmed these 27 events to date.  The WPT world padel circuit is increasingly popular and exciting, and we are excited to see how the 2023 season develops.

The calendar for this season (subject to modifications) is defined with 5 Masters, 4 Open 500, 17 Open 1000 and finally the final Master in the city of Barcelona.
