The perfect blend of historical and hysterical, LaZoom Comedy Bus Tours welcome visitors aboard the company’s signature purple buses to drive around downtown and surrounding neighborhoods for a look at the city’s history, beer culture, ghosts and more. Along the way, you’ll meet zany characters and enjoy lots of laughter. LaZoom offers four tour options: the popular 90-minute Asheville City Tour (appropriate for ages 13 and older), a one-hour haunted comedy tour (ages 17 and older), a three-hour brewery tour (ages 21 and older) and a one-hour Kids Comedy Tour that’s suitable for all ages.

Both visitors and locals love these one-of-a-kind tours. Reviewers rave about the funny, witty guides and characters you interact with along the way. Locals call LaZoom a great way to introduce out-of-town guests to Asheville.

All LaZoom Tours depart from the LaZoom Room in downtown Asheville. If you don’t luck out with street parking, a parking lot on-site costs $3 per hour, or you can park at the Aloft Hotel parking garage just down the street. Tours run daily; exact times vary by tour. George Vanderbilt’s enormous French Renaissance-style estate has a storied past dating back to 1889. Absolutely fabulous tour! A must see if visiting Asheville. The bus is super cute and the acting was spot on! The ladies were so funny! I loved the set up before going on the bus, too! This was worth every cent!

We took the Ghost Tour last night and loved it! We didn't know what to expect but the experience was great. From the waiting room, to the drinks you can buy and bring on the bus, to the great group of fellow travelers, to the amazing actors it was a hilarious show. We laughed and screamed and had a blast. Highly recommended.

Bridgette and the team are great! I did not expect to enjoy this as much as a did, let alone be impressed by the performance. This is the absolute best way to learn about Asheville.

On our way to Asheville, I tried to find a comedy show for us to attend since we were arriving closer to the evening and I came across LaZoom. Comedy and a tour of the city? Seemed like a perfect fit for our first night. Fortunately, this was one of my better impulsive purchases. We had so much fun! I don't want to spoil anything so just trust me and book it right now!!

If you are going with a big group, I do not recommend. There technically is not assigned seating, but people will be upset if you change your seats and force you to get out of their unassigned seats. The hosts on the bus will not help you, so it does not make the experience worthwhile and leaves you with a bad taste.

I did the comedy LaZoom tour and it did not disappoint! We had "cookie" as our guide and she was absolutely hysterical! The bus tour was very very well organized. You were able to buy alcoholic beverages at their bar and they gave you a personal cooler to bring on the bus! We also had a pit stop at a brewery where we were able to refuel on our drinks and use the bathroom. Not only was the tour hilarious but it was also informative and we drove through some parts of the city we wouldn't have seen otherwise such as the more residential sections that still have some history to hear! I 100% would recommend this tour and was bummed I didn't have a chance to also do the ghost tour as well! You will be smiling the entire time!

LaZoom totally exceeded my expectations! I live in Asheville and decided to bring my friend who was visiting on the comedy tour. Dusty Roads and Scott were hilariously outrageous. Such a dynamic duo. We ended up loving the tour so much we turned around and hopped on the band and brews tour an hour later! The band was phenomenal and the breweries were a blast. I highly recommend this adventure to locals and tourists. Scott, we had an amazing time, thanks for being the best guide!

Very fun comedy tour bus. Tours through Asheville and shows historical sites in the area. The mini show transitions were hilarious. If your siting in the front be prepared to join in. My girlfriends and I had a blast during our girls trip vacation.

This tour was so much fun! We did it over the Holidays and are so happy we made the decision. Your cheeks will hurt from laughing for 2 hours.

My boyfriend and I went on the ghost tour and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Asheville. They had great beer options and the performers had us cracking up. I would recommend this to anyone planning a trip to Asheville!

We had a blast! I highly recommend this tour.. you will be laughing the entire time! I will absolutely be going again when friends and family come to town.

A group of us did the City Comedy Tour as part of a work trip to Asheville and it did not disappoint! The hosts were hilarious and the bus ride around town was equal parts funny and interesting. Definitely recommend this tour!

The Fender Bender: Band and Beer Bus has a live band playing as the 21-and-over passengers experience 2-3 of Asheville’s local breweries. While LaZoom’s other tours are full-on comedy, the Band & Beer Ride is focused on being more “fun” than “funny.” The tour MC entertains the riders with fun facts about the local beer scene as well as what it takes to create the local brews that we’ve all come to know and love. If you love great music and incredible beer, this one-of-a-kind tour is a must! Passengers must be 21 years old to ride! Tours depart from The LaZoom Room at 76 Biltmore Avenue in downtown Asheville. You'll visit Highland, and the Wedge Brewing Company along the way.

Now's your chance to bring the whole family on the big purple bus! Educational and entertaining, LaZoom's Kids' Comedy tour, Lil Boogers. Lil Boogers features a perfect blend of Asheville information and kid-centric comedy. Geared specifically towards the 5-12 year old crowd, you'll learn about our city's history and see the sights in true LaZoom style - complete with our famously outlandish tour guides, hilarious comedy skits, and all sorts of special appearances! Perfect for birthday parties or school field trips, it's the best thing to do with your kids in Asheville.  It's a show on wheels!

**Limit 4 children per every adult ticket purchased.** Kid's Comedy Tours run approximately 60 minutes. Passengers aged 3 years and under ride for free if they sit on an adult's lap.

Beer and wine purchased from The LaZoom Room are allowed on board. W e do not allow outside alcoholic beverages on the bus. The LaZoom Room has a great selection of beer, wine, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase to enjoy there or take on the bus.

Passengers over 21 need ID if they intend to drink alcoholic beverages on the bus. If you’re booking a “Local” ticket, you will be expected to provide an Asheville ID or proof of Asheville residency at boarding.

LaZoom Tours is owned and operated locally by founders Jim and Jen Lauzon, who were just a pair of crazy-in-love street performers until they found their first bus, colored it purple and pursued their wacky dream. At first, it was just Jim and Jen (and a driver), writing the scripts and playing all the roles.

Now in its 16th year of operation, LaZoom has grown to encompass three buses, four drivers, one director, eight on- and off-bus guides, and more nuns than you can shake a ruler at! But LaZoom is still Jim and Jen’s baby, and we’re all family here. Get on the bus and experience the fun for yourself!

COMPANY CULTURE

All LaZoom experiences are one of a kind, and completely scripted in house. Marketing, web design, graphic design, costume design/production, and printing (both apparel and advertisements) are sourced locally if available. Bus decorations were sourced locally, and installed locally. The only thing not local is our sense of humor. It’s pretty far out there.

We also pay a living wage to all employees and provide a medical stipend to full time employees.

LaZoom strives to maintain a positive image in Asheville, and encourages their staff to support the local community. LaZoom matches community hours served with paid time off. It’s good to give back! 

Carbon Offset Program

In an effort to not kill the planet, LaZoom Tours will be offsetting their carbon emissions for 2019 and beyond. The company has agreed to submit all carbon payments to Appalachian Offsets, a local organization that aims to end carbon emissions in Western North Carolina.

Appalachian Offsets evaluated LaZoom’s current plan, which included regular sacrifices to an Egyptian sun god and a strict “No Farting” policy on tours, and came up with something more sensible. They evaluated their buses, the miles driven per year, and determined the amount of carbon offsets they would need to purchase to counteract their usage.
