the East Side of Milwaukee.

Ideas Are Bigger Than Spaces

You will not see another garden tour like this one  in southeastern Wisconsin. We are urban gardeners designing and creating unique places in our small spaces. Virtually all concepts, construction and planting have been done by the tour hosts you will meet. And it's completely free, thanks to our sponsors.

You will see new start-up gardens that have grown out of a dust bowl and a rocky courtyard. Visit a rooftop oasis, an incredible herbal garden and a backyard blaze of brilliant color. See how a wall of hops provides a house-cooling vista. Learn how one group works together to feed fellow Milwaukeeans healthy salads. Inspect a from-scratch custom greenhouse. In every case, our gardeners have personally transformed their urban lots in ways that will inspire you.

Share the Gardening Spirit

Inviting you into our yards is one of our favorite days of the year. Bring cameras, sketch pads and questions. Expect seeds and other offerings from select hosts. And know that we look forward to learning from you through your experiences, too!

Garden tour faq, are you certain there will be a tour in 2022.

Yes! Ours was the only tour in the area to go on as scheduled in 2020. Visitors were thrilled to attend a live event, and  the City reported no contact tracing linked to the tour.

Can I walk to all the gardens in five hours?

We intentionally feature gardens in a contained area to ensure you can walk, bike or drive to all of them and have time to spend at each. Last year, the tour was entirely inside an 11-block by 6-block area. {And many tour hosts will have cold beverages waiting for you!}

Who designed and created the gardens I will see?

The host gardeners themselves, so any questions you have will be answered while you're here. And we always have new gardens every year.

Why is the tour map not online?

We want you to visit the local business that generously supports our tour every year. And many of our long-time visitors  make a habit of arriving early each year to plan out their route while dining at the many restaurants in the neighborhood.

 The 2024 Open Days in the Milwaukee area are presented in partnership with The Garden Conservancy. The Garden Conservancy implemented pre-registration requirements, capacity limitations and a new custom, electronic ticketing system.  All Open Days require pre-registration. Childish Gambino Has Unveiled A Bunch Of Dates For ‘The New World Tour’ In 2024 And 2025

Today is a big one for Donald Glover fans: He just released Atavista , a new Childish Gambino album, and now he’s announced tour dates, too.

The New World Tour kicks off in August in North America before going to Europe, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand between then and early 2025. Willow will open the North American shows while Amaarae will support for the international dates.

The general on-sale for tickets starts May 17 at 10 a.m. local time. Fans can also sign up for early access via the artist pre-sale, and there’s an exclusive American Express pre-sale as well for North American, Australian, and select UK dates. The start times of those pre-sales vary by market, so find more information about tickets via the tour website .

The 2024 Open Days Schedule is now online!

Visit america's best private gardens.

Fueling America’s passion for gardens, the Garden Conservancy’s Open Days program annually celebrates the country’s most exciting, creative, and innovative private gardens. Open Days is made up of a nationwide community of gardeners and garden enthusiasts teaching and inspiring each other and the public. From expert to novice, there is no better way to improve as a gardener than by experiencing a diverse range of gardens, and gardening traditions, firsthand. 

Since 1995, Open Days has welcomed more than 1.4 million visitors into thousands of inspired private landscapes—from urban rooftops to organic farms, historic estates, to innovative suburban lots—in 41 states. 

Open Days have become The Garden Conservancy’s best-known and most beloved program, and it is made possible by the hard work and generous support of hundreds of volunteers, garden hosts, and visitors. The Garden Conservancy is delighted to showcase America’s diverse regional horticultural and stylistic expressions for all to enjoy, and we hope to see you at an Open Day soon!

Tickets will be released online approximately two months in advance of an Open Day, around the first of the month. For 2024, our anticipated release dates are:

Registration All registrations must be processed online through The Garden Conservancy's website. Garden Hosts do not have the ability to collect payments or verify memberships onsite.

Tickets Once registered, you will receive an electronic ticket that includes all the information you need to visit your selected gardens, including the garden's address, location, parking instructions, and other information to help plan your vist.

You can still be spontaneous! Registration for gardens will remain live until the end of the Open Day or until all tickets have sold out.

Childish Gambino announces 'The New World Tour': See full list of dates

Childish Gambino, aka Donald Glover , has announced a world tour that will cover North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

The North American leg of the tour, called "The New World Tour," will feature 33 dates and will begin in Oklahoma City on Aug. 11. The final stop on the leg will be in Chicago on Oct. 3.

The European leg of the tour kicks off Oct. 31 in Lyon, France and ends Dec. 5 in Dublin, Ireland, and will feature 18 stops across the continent. The Australia and New Zealand portion kicks off on Jan. 28, 2025 and wraps up on Feb. 11, 2025.

Alongside the world tour, Gambino also surprised fans with the release of " Atavista ," a new version of his 2020 album " 3.15.20 ," which includes two new tracks, titled "Atavista" and "Human Sacrifice."

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m. local time at thenewworldtour.com . Fans can also sign up for early access to tickets via the artist presale for all tour dates at thenewworldtour.com.

American Express card members can purchase tickets before the general public for North American, Australian and select UK dates. Presale start and end times will vary by market.

Roku will carry Major League Baseball games on Sundays beginning this week, and viewers will be able to watch for free and not be required to use a Roku device, the streaming service announced Monday.

Roku secured multiyear rights for MLB Sunday Leadoff games beginning with the Boston Red Sox at St. Louis Cardinals this Sunday. The telecasts will be produced in collaboration with local broadcast teams. They previously were available through the subscription service Peacock.

Viewers without a Roku device can stream the games on the Roku Channel app, which is free and available on Amazon Fire devices, Samsung TVs and Google TVs. It also is accessible via therokuchannel.com with no login required.

The games also will be available to MLB.TV subscribers.

“With free games available to anyone, MLB games on Roku will be widely accessible to fans,” said Noah Garden, MLB deputy commissioner for business and media. “Since Roku serves as an entertainment gateway for millions, this partnership offers a valuable new promotional and distribution platform for MLB games and content.”

The White   House Announces Public Tours and Media Preview of the White   House Gardens on Mother’s Day   Weekend

The White House will continue the tradition of welcoming members of the public to tour the White House Gardens and South Grounds. This spring the White House Gardens Tour will take place during Mother’s Day Weekend, with tours available to the public from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM ET on Saturday, May 11 th and Sunday, May 12 th . 

2024 White House Gardens Tour The White House Gardens Tour is free and open to the public; however, a daily timed ticket is required for all attendees, including small children. The National Park Service (NPS) will distribute free, daily timed tickets at a tent stationed outside the White House Visitor Center (1450 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) each tour day (May 11 th and 12 th ) beginning at 8:30 AM ET, while supplies last. The tour entry point for all guests will be located on 15th Street, NW between E Street, NW and Constitution Avenue, NW. Advance reservations are not available. The ADA entrance will be located at 15th Street, NW and Alexander Hamilton Place, NW.

Media Preview The White House will host a media preview of the White House Gardens and South Grounds on Friday, May 10 th at 12:30 PM ET. This media preview will be open to pre-credentialed media. For interested media, please RSVP  HERE  by Thursday, May 9 th  at 3:00 PM ET.
