Honeymoon on a Disney Cruise

by Savvy Diva | Jun 18, 2012 | Cruises , Cruises , General Cruise Tips , Outside Disneyland , Wedding/ Honeymoon | 1 comment

When my then, fiancé, told me he wanted to take a Disney Cruise for our honeymoon, it was just one more reason I knew he was the one for me!

We’re both big kids at heart, and this is the perfect way to mix fun and romance.

One of the greatest things about a Disney Cruise honeymoon is that you can make it as exciting or as relaxing as you want.

There are lots of extras including couple’s massages, dinner at the adults-only restaurant aboard every ship, and every type of excursion for shopping, tours, and adventures on land & sea.

Don’t overlook the many perks that are already included with your cruise! There’s a live Broadway style show every night, an adult-only deck with a pool and two whirlpool spas, free room service at any time of the day or night, a movie theater that shows new-release and classic Disney movies, adult-only nightclubs & lounges, and even a fine art gallery where you can view and purchase limited-edition prints!

I believe it is perfectly possible to have a fabulously romantic honeymoon aboard a Disney Cruise and hardly ever see a child. You will certainly not be the only adult waiting in line to get your picture taken with Mickey & Minnie.

How to Plan A Magical Disney Honeymoon

Planning a Disney World honeymoon? This guide will help you choose the best hotels, activities, and add-ons for your memorable trip.

They don’t call it the most magical place on earth for nothin’.

There’s nowhere better to celebrate your new marriage than at Disney World. That is, if thrilling rides, nostalgia-inducing characters, and epic (and we mean EPIC) food is your idea of fun. It certainly is ours.

Read on to discover everything you need to know before you pack your Minnie Ears and get your Disney Dollars ready…

Top Tips for Booking Your Disney Honeymoon

Disney World Castle

Tapping into the magic of Disney and remembering your favorite characters, rides, or movie sets is only part of the charm of a Disney honeymoon.

You can also do many of the same activities you find in tropical destinations in an amusement park setting – including lounging by the pool and scoffing ice cream on the beach (yes, really).

Our guide will share the best Disney honeymoon tips, so your trip is one you’ll never forget.

Pick a Romantic Hotel

The first thing to do when planning a Disney World honeymoon is to decide where you want to stay.

Not a problem; you can choose from numerous romantic hotels for your Disney honeymoon package.  Whether you want to feel like you’re on a safari adventure at Animal Kingdom Villas or dream of a classic fairytale romance at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa , picking a hotel for your Disney honeymoon is part of the magic.

If you ask us, The Grand Floridian is the way to go. If you’re after total fairytale vibes, you won’t be disappointed. And don’t even get us started on the festive makeover the hotel gets near Christmas. Dreamy.

Start the Trip With an In-Room Celebration

What’s the best way to kick off your Disney honeymoon? Plan a momentous in-room celebration to commemorate your honeymoon.

Pro tip: you’ll want to book this in advance. Have no fear; you can do this online or by phone at (407) 939-4438. Ears to the Happy Couple is a popular choice and includes champagne, chocolates, and matching mouse ears (perfect, right?).

Disney honeymoon package prices vary; our favorite is between $137.99 to $524.99 , depending on the kind of champagne you choose.

Cruise the Seven Seas Lagoon on a Private Yacht

What’s more romantic than a private yacht ? Not much. Booking a dinner for two and watching the Disney Wishes fireworks show turns the romance up a notch higher.

Make your dreams come true and reserve the cruise for $480 per hour plus the cost of dinner. You’ll remember it for a lifetime.

Create a Disney Honeymoon Registry

Creating a Disney honeymoon registry is the perfect way to save up for your dream vacation.

Kitchen appliances and cash come in handy, but how about asking the people you love to help you with your Disney honeymoon fund? Your friends and family can choose from romantic gestures like pitching in for horseback rides or swimming with dolphins.

Register online with Disney Honeymoon Wishes (it’s easy to use and free) to start planning your incredible trip together.

Where to Stay During Your Disney Honeymoon?

Grand Floridian Disney World

Deciding where to stay on your Disney honeymoon might be easier than ever with resorts and rooms for any budget. But the sheer number of resorts to choose from can be near-startling.

What’s the best Disney hotel for honeymoons? It all depends on what you like – but there is something to make nearly any couple smitten. Our favorite, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa , is tough to beat. Rooms are truly stunning – if not a little bit old-fashioned – and totally encapsulate the dream honeymoon experience.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option (well, kinda, it is Disney of course), Port Orleans French Quarter is a gorgeous hotel with slightly more modern rooms and a jazz-themed soundtrack. And, of course, Port Orleans serves up those infamous Disney beignets.

Things to do During Your Disney Honeymoon

Now it’s time to decide what to do on your Disney honeymoon.

Our advice? Pick a few can’t-miss activities and plan in advance (when you can) to save time later.

Dress for the Occasion

Disney Ears

Half the fun of a Disney honeymoon is getting into character.

From matching shirts to rocking the gear of your favorite film or tv icon, make the most of your honeymoon at Disney World. Of course, there’s plenty of merch on-site to buy when you arrive – Mickey ears are non-negotiable.

Book an Exclusive Experience

Whether it’s a private yacht, a romantic carriage ride by horse, or the Savor the Savanna experience at Animal Kingdom – the alone time with your spouse will be priceless.

Go to the Beach

One of our favorite Disney World honeymoon tips is to head to the beach during your visit. Yes, you can actually do that. The Beach Club Resort has a small man-made beach where you can chill out and explore the adorable BoardWalk area nearby.

There are also six lakefront locations to lounge on, play volleyball or have a snack. You can even rent a boat if you want to head out on the water for some fun.

Have a Romantic Dinner for Two

Disney World has no shortage of top-notch dining options where you can wine and dine with the person of your dreams.

Craving seafood, steak, or spaghetti a la Lady and the Tramp? You can enjoy a romantic evening together while enjoying fine food, regardless of your favorite cuisine or ambiance.

Top picks include ‘Ohana and Grand Floridian Cafe for romantic dinners and Olivia’s Cafe at Old Key West for a cozy breakfast.

Shop, Dine and Stroll Through EPCOT

EPCOT, Disney World

One of the four Disney World Parks, EPCOT (or the Experimental Prototype City Of Tomorrow) allows you to wander through different continents without even leaving the park.

With a number of pavillions facing a beautiful lake (stick around for the nighttime show), you can explore the likes of Mexico, China, France, Germany and Japan without even needing to catch a flight.

And, if it’s thrills you’re after, top rides in this park include Mission Space, Soarin’, and Guardians of The Galaxy.

Famed for the “drink around the world” challenge, you and your significant other can sip Margaritas in Mexico and Champagne in France in the same afternoon. And when hunger strikes, the brand-new futuristic Space 220 restaurant has got you covered.

Disney Honeymoons: Frequently Asked Questions

When should we go on a honeymoon to disney.

A Disney honeymoon is fun no matter what month you go. But there are important considerations like weather and crowds.

Summer months are the hottest and have large crowds many days. Weekends and holidays also see peak tourism – since kids and parents are out of school.

It’s busy, but the holidays are among our favorite times for a Disney honeymoon. The decorations for Christmas and Halloween will make your honeymoon that much more magical.

What is Included in Walt Disney World Resort Honeymoons?

You can include nearly anything on Walt Disney World Resort honeymoons.

It’s up to you, your spouse, and your family and friends (you can set up a registry through Disney Honeymoon Wishes) to plan your unforgettable experience precisely the way you want.

From theme park rides to private tours, you can set up your dream vacation for your Disney honeymoon with no detail left unturned.

How Much Does a Disney Honeymoon Cost?

Disney is a magical place for a honeymoon, but you may need to save up to make the most of it.

You can expect to spend from $109-$189 per ticket for an amusement park (that’s per day!). Want to do more than one? You can now enjoy park hopping, but you’ll have to pay an additional fee.

When you factor in food, hotels, and airfare – you can expect to pay between $3,000-$6,000 for a weekend Disney honeymoon if you plan on going to the park all three days and adding some special perks.

As well as this, you’ll need to have plenty in the bank for food and drink (and merch). Dinner can cost anywhere from $20-$200 per person, so we recommend saving some cash by dining at Disney Springs.

Are Disney Cruises Good for a Honeymoon?

A Disney Cruise is a fantastic way to celebrate your honeymoon – especially if you and your spouse are in love with the movies and characters.

Though most are known for family vacations, a Disney Cruise can be romantic, and many offer adults-only events that are perfect for a romantic journey together at sea.

Does Disney Have Honeymoon Suites?

You can make your honeymoon at Disney as romantic as you want, including the resort suites.

The Bora Bora Bungalows , Fairy Tale Suite (at Disneyland), and the Grand Suite at Disney’s Grand Floridian are our top picks for Disney honeymoon suites.

Does Disney Do Anything for Honeymooners?

Disney are experts at making any special occasion you can think of that little bit more magical. So when it comes to a Disney honeymoon, you can count on perfection.

Whether you want to take unforgettable photos (you can do it in nearly any location imaginable), book a romantic room, or watch fireworks from a private yacht – Disney honeymoons will have you over the moon.

How Much Does a Disney Honeymoon Cost?

There’s no honeymoon destination quite as magical as Walt Disney World Resort. But is the cost as enchanting?

The average Disney honeymoon costs between $3,500 and $9,000.

The total amount varies significantly depending on the length of your stay, where you stay, your dining plans,  theme park tickets, transportation, and all the extras.

Let’s take a closer look at the factors influencing the cost of a honeymoon at Disney World.

Why Disney World Honeymoon Can Be Expensive (or Inexpensive)

Honeymoons are a time to splurge and a time to create memories that will last a lifetime. That said, you don’t want to spend the first few years of your married life paying off your trip!

The great thing about booking a “Disneymoon” packages is that there’s one for almost any budget. You can go as extravagant as you’d like, or as modest.

A Disney World honeymoon can be as dressed up or dressed down,  romantic or casual. You can have a relaxing, slow-paced honeymoon or an action-packed, non-stop honeymoon.

Whatever your goals may be, newlyweds are guaranteed to have an enchanting and unique honeymoon that only a Disney destination can provide.

The average cost of a Disney honeymoon ranges from $3,500 to $9,000. Of course, the total price will depend on several key factors – the time of the year you go, how long you stay, the hotel you choose, park tickets,  transportation, your dining choices, extras like (PhotoPass+ and souvenirs), and other such things.

Disney accommodates all honeymooners regardless of how much they spend.  You don’t want to go overboard, but you also probably don’t want to skimp on your honeymoon.

Major Expenses of a Disney Honeymoon

Your hotel stay may end up being the largest expense. You can go big and stay at a Deluxe resort or you can keep the emphasis on the theme parks and stay in a Value resort for roughly $200 per night. It’s your call.

Budget-friendly Disney Value Resorts tend to be simple and family-friendly. Most people wouldn’t describe them as “romantic” but they are located right inside Walt Disney World Resort, quite affordable, and most people find them adequate. For example, you can book a standard room at All-Star Music for as low as $118, and that includes tax. Rates can vary significantly depending on the dates you choose.

Disney Moderate Resorts have larger rooms and nicer features than the value resorts. Most people would find them more than adequate for a honeymoon, but your still not getting a luxury experience. Room rates vary depending on the dates. As an example, the price of a standard room at Port Orleans French Quarter starts at $256 per night (tax included) but the cost reaches over $400’s during some peak times of the year.

Disney Deluxe Resorts are Disney’s most expensive tier of hotels. Remember,  it’s your once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon after all, and you might want to splurge. Deluxe resorts have nicer amenities overall – rooms, restaurants, lobbies, proximity to the theme parks, etc. They have nicer beds and linens and better transportation options.  Rooms can range from $700 to $1,500+ per night.

Remember: resort stays do not include theme park tickets or food. You should plan on around $150 per person per day for park tickets and then another couple hundred per couple, per day, for food. This can be higher or lower depending on which restaurants you go to and how many extras you choose (snacks, apps, alcohol, desserts, etc.).

Best Resorts for Disney World Honeymoons

There are dozens of magical Disney resort hotels to choose from for your honeymoon. Here are a few of the ones we’d recommend.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

The Grand Floridian is Disney’s flagship hotel and its most opulent. It’s definitely not for budget-conscious honeymooners, but if you don’t might splurging, Grand Floridian is a great choice.

Grand Floridian’s elegant Victorian architecture and posh, multi-story lobby create the perfect fairy-tale setting for a Disneymoon. There’s even a live orchestra to enchant its guests!

The rooms are spacious, the grounds are lovely, and the resort is just steps from Magic Kingdom. The hotel is even has a stop on the Magic Kingdom monorail loop.

Grand Floridian is home to Victoria and Albert’s, an adults-only AAA Five Diamond restaurant, and a world-class spa.

If you want a classy Disney honeymoon, look no further!

“2021 “rack rate” prices start at $737 (per night, taxes included)

Disney’s Riviera Resort

If you’re deciding between a honeymoon in Europe or at Disney World, why not compromise and stay in a villa at Disney’s Riviera Resort and Spa ?

This brand-new resort has both modern and classic touches, a fantastic art collection, great restaurants, and a dedicated stop on Disney’s new Skyliner gondola system. If you’re looking for a romantic hotel with touches of Europe throughout, consider a room at Disney’s Riviera Resort.

2021 “rack rate” prices start at $429 (per night, taxes included)

Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter

French Quarter is a New Orleans-themed Disney Moderate Resort situated along the Sassagoula River. It has a relaxing peaceful vibe that’s perfect for a romantic Disneymoon.

Immerse yourself in the architecture, take a romantic evening stroll along the river and among the magnolia trees, or head over to Scat Cat’s Club and enjoy a cocktail as you watch a live jazz performance.

2021 “rack rate” prices start at $256 (per night, taxes included)

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a wonderful option for Disney honeymoons.

For the royal treatment, book a room that overlooks the savanna. Sit out on your balcony, have a glass of wine, and watch the giraffes walk by!

Enjoy the flavors of Africa at one of the resort’s highly acclaimed restaurants and cuddle as you watch movies under the stars.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge really brings out the magic of Disney!

2021 “rack rate” prices start at $434 (per night, taxes included)

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is one of our favorite resorts. But for the ultimate indulgence, consider spending your honeymoon at the Polynesian bungalows. These exotic floating villas have the most awe-inspiring views of Cinderella Castle (across Bay Lake) and the nightly fireworks.

Is there anything more romantic than spending your honeymoon in your own secluded veranda on the water? Is there anything more fun than spending your honeymoon at Disney World?  Probably not!

It’s not cheap but it may be worth the splurge.

2021 “rack rate” prices start at $618 (per night, taxes included)

A few honorable mentions

If you like pools, waterslides, and the beach, Disney’s Beach Club Resort will be a fun place to stay. Its sister resort – Disney Yacht Club Resort – has an upscale nautical vibe and is a popular choice for adult couples. Both are great spots to spend your honeymoon.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is a relaxing honeymoon getaway spot. It’s also a stop on the Disney Skyliner.

Disney’s BoardWalk Resort is a good choice if you love nightlife and great dining options.

Do you like camping? Are you on a budget? Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is definitely one to consider.

And lastly, Pop Century is our top pick in the Value category. It doesn’t have all the bells-and-whistles but it’s a really fun and affordable spot for a honeymoon.

Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa (Hawaii)

Looking for alternatives? Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii is another popular “Disneymoon” destination.  Here you’ll enjoy beautiful sunsets over the Pacific Ocean, outdoor adventures, luxury luaus, romantic hideaways, and much more.  Contact The Vacationeer for more information!

Disney Honeymoon Packages

The cost of a Disney honeymoon varies significantly depending on your dates and where you stay. Disney does NOT offer pre-built packages specifically for honeymoons but, with the help of a Disney travel agent, you can customize your trip.

Buttons can be found at Disney Guest Services locations, check-in locations, or from any Cast Member.

Throughout your stay, let Cast Members know that you’re celebrating a honeymoon and they will sprinkle you with a little extra ‘pixie dust.” You may receive complimentary souvenirs, desserts, the “best table in the house,” and other VIP perks around the park. More reason to spend your honeymoon at Disney World!

Tips for a Disney Honeymoon

  • Book Early : Many of the activities you’ll partake in at Disney World require advance reservations. Whether it’s a dining reservation, boat rental, or carriage ride, you’ll need to plan ahead and make your reservation well in advance.   The Vacationeer can handle these aspects for you.
  • Plan your Photos : Photographs allow you to revisit your special trip in full color when you’re back home. They are important. We recommend getting to the park as soon as it opens and positioning yourself in front of Cinderella Castle (or some other iconic location). This will give you a clean shot before the crowds get in your way.
  • Relax : Your honeymoon should be about romance and relaxation. Don’t go overboard with your to-do list.  Have fun at the theme parks and enjoy your meals, but take it easy and don’t rush. You can always return another time and try to see how many rides you can squeeze in each day – but not on your honeymoon!

Be sure to read our Disney World for Couples page for more tips and tricks.

I hope this information is helpful. Have a magical honeymoon at Walt Disney World!

Think beyond castles and coasters to luxurious resorts, private yachts, romantic spa treatments, and more.

honeymoon disney cruise

After the wedding bells have rung, many newlyweds opt not to go to the Caribbean but to instead spend their honeymoon immersed in magic. For 50 years, Walt Disney World has been the place where we can all come together and live out our inner childhood through beloved attractions and fanciful lands. With plenty of wonders and an undeniable sense of optimism, it is only fitting that it has become a sought-after location for newly married couples.

A Disney World honeymoon doesn't have to stop at castles and coasters, either. A finer side of the resort awaits in high-end hotels, abundant fine-dining restaurants, spas with couples' treatments on offer, private yachts sailing under fireworks, adventurous guided treks through a mock African savanna, and more. Romance abounds in the Most Magical Place on Earth.

From where to stay and what to eat to enhanced experiences just for couples, we've got all you need to create a real-life fairytale on your Disney World honeymoon.

Pack your mouse ears: We're going to Florida.

Pick a romantic hotel.

Don't be surprised if you feel a warm Mediterranean breeze blowing throughout the European-inspired digs of Disney's Riviera Resort . This stunning deluxe-level, marble-laden property exudes opulence with just the right amount of Disney flair. Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera, the resort's rooftop signature restaurant, offers sweeping views of the surrounding parks with an elevated French and Italian menu.

As an official Disney resort, you'll get perks like extra park hours and complimentary transportation, including an on-site Skyliner station that will quickly whisk you to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios .

Another resort where Disney and luxury truly align is the Four Seasons Resort Orlando . The iconic brand brings unprecedented levels of customer service to central Florida. The property's picturesque five-acre outdoor water park is complete with an adults-only pool. The on-site rooftop steakhouse, Capa, has an award-winning, nationally recognized wine program and provides plenty of outdoor seating for jaw-dropping views of the nightly fireworks. This resort also receives many of the same perks as Disney resorts, like early park entry and complimentary park transportation aboard luxury motorcoaches.

Let the concierge plan your honeymoon.

If you stay at an official Disney Deluxe Resort hotel, consider splashing out on a Club Level room, which grants guests access to an exclusive concierge that will indeed plan your honeymoon for you. Walt Disney World doesn't do honeymoon packages, but this service will make planning as easy as possible. More comprehensive than the lobby concierge service, the Club Level concierge has an Itinerary Planning Office that can get you dinner and activity reservations and show tickets in advance of your arrival.

Club Level guests also get access to a special lounge that serves coffee, continental breakfast, light afternoon snacks, hors d'oeuvres at dinner time, and late-night desserts.

Kick off the trip with an in-room celebration.

Set the tone for your trip with an in-room celebration. Using the Magical Floral & Gifts service, you can create a little magic of your own directly from the comforts of your room — no pixie dust required. Available to be arranged before or during your vacation, packages range from fresh florals and chocolates to themed baskets and whimsical balloon arrangements. The Ears to the Happy Couple package includes Mickey-etched toasting flutes and is a fitting keepsake for the newlyweds.

Strike a pose.

You'll likely be looking back at photos from your honeymoon for years to come, so what better reason to take advantage of Disney's Capture Your Moment photo package? This personalized 20-minute photo session is offered in any of the four theme parks and uses the background setup of the couple's choice. Advanced reservations are recommended, with sessions priced at $99.

Pro tip: If you want some shots outside the studio, book two back-to-back sessions, which provides enough time to shoot in front of at least two different locations of your choice.

Create an official Disney honeymoon registry.

The Honeymoon Wishes Registry is an online service and resource from Disney Fairytale Weddings and Honeymoons that allows guests to create their own list of Disney experiences that friends and family can then gift them. Those experiences could include dining at signature restaurants, private tours, and even park tickets. It features a range of adventurous, relaxing, and romantic activities from carriage rides to specialty cruises.

Enjoy dinner and a show at Disney Springs.

Taylor McIntyre/Travel + Leisure

After plenty of park time, honeymooners can enjoy a vast number of leisurely experiences and restaurant concepts from Michelin-awarded chefs at Disney World's entertainment and dining district, Disney Springs . Begin your evening with a viewing of Cirque Du Soleil's "Drawn To Life" production, a first-of-its-kind collaboration between the world-renowned theater company and Disney Imagineering.

Then, after the show, pick from over 140 pours of wine from the only master-sommelier-owned restaurant in Florida, Wine Bar George . Nearby Morimoto Asia , helmed by the famed Iron Chef, dazzles not only in the atmosphere but with globally inspired foods, including splurge-worthy Japanese A5 Wagyu.

Cruise the Seven Seas Lagoon on a private yacht.

Enjoy Magic Kingdom's fireworks from a unique vantage point aboard a 25-foot luxury yacht. Specialty cruises offer stunning views of the nighttime spectaculars in an intimate setting. As you cruise the Seven Seas Lagoon with Cinderella Castle in the distance, you can sip on cocktails as you peep Disney's Contemporary Resort and others. Journeys start at $399 per person, and the boat is limited to no more than 10 guests.

Tap into your adventurous side.

There's plenty for the active couple to explore on their Disney World honeymoon. Unleash your wild side and revel in natural beauty on the Wild Africa Trek , a privately guided VIP expedition at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The three-hour experience brings you face to face with wildlife as you learn about the park's commitment to conservation and nibble on African-inspired bites. This experience is priced at $199 per person.

Share a toast.

Drinking around the world is a loved pastime at EPCOT, but this trip is extra special and calls for libations out of the norm. The La Cava Experience is fitting for such an occasion. Hosted inside the Mexico pavilion at La Cava del Tequila, this intimate tasting experience is led by a knowledgeable certified tequila ambassador. Here, you'll sample agave-based spirits from different regions of Mexico, including tastings exclusive to the Disney property, and learn about their historic and cultural significance. The experience costs $150 a person, and groups are typically limited to six guests.

Besides tequila tasting, Sangria University is offered on weekends waterside at Disney's Coronado Springs. The class enriches students with a glimpse into the history of the Spanish beverage as they concoct four of the house specialty sangrias. Classes are $59 per person, and advanced reservations are required.

Show off your newly minted status.

Disney loves a love story. A honeymoon is your time to shine and enjoy encouraging words from cast members and guests alike. There are several ways to do this, but one of the easiest is to grab complimentary "Happily Ever After" pins available at most front desks, customer service locations, and merchandise shops. Cast members are known to give a little extra magic to pin-adorned guests — often in the form of complimentary desserts or sparkling beverages.

Another way to wear your newlywed status: matching Mickey and Minnie Mouse bride and groom ears. These adorable accessories also double as the perfect souvenir.

Enjoy expedited access with a personalized VIP tour.

No need to spend your precious honeymoon hours waiting in long lines and walking from A to B with Disney's private VIP tours . Guests who opt into this service simply share a list of things they hope to see and do at Disney World with their personal guide, who then does all the unglamorous work of securing tickets and reservations and curating an efficient itinerary. The tours are seven hours long at the minimum and include private transport to and from the hotel if you're staying at a Walt Disney World Resort. Pricing depends on the tour but ranges from $450 to $900 per hour.

Indulge in a spa treatment.

Trips to Disney World can be action-packed, and honeymooners should make time for a little R&R ( romance and relaxation). At the Grand Floridian Spa — a world-class, full-service spa outfitted with a tranquil garden atmosphere — you can rejuvenate and reconnect with a personalized 50- or 80-minute couples massage or go all out with the Just the Two of Us package, which includes a couples massage and pedicure for two for $260 per person.

Albeit less luxurious, other spas include the Balinese-themed Mandara Spa at the Swan and Dolphin Hotel and Ship Shape Massage Salon Fitness , a spa-and-gym hybrid also offering couples massages inside Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

Don't overplan.

Disney World is a place where every second of your day could be scheduled, but you have the rest of your life for that. Plan some time to just wing it and enjoy each other's company. Relish in together time at the pool or explore Disney World's dozens of properties on a resort crawl. Spend happy hour in the elegant "Beauty and The Beast"-inspired lounge, Enchanted Rose , or sip from the impressive cocktail program at the BoardWalk's magician-themed speakeasy, AbracadaBar . Disney's resort lounges do not require advanced reservations and all guests are free to visit any resort.

Consider the expected costs.

Disney World's top resorts start around $400 per night, and park tickets begin at $109 per day. After factoring in your food budget and add-on experiences, you can expect to spend around $4,000 for a week-long honeymoon. Know your budget and expenses before you go so it's not a source of stress during your special time together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Disney World does not have an official honeymoon package, but it offers many add-on experiences (see the Enchanting Extras Collection ) that gear toward couples. Plus, you can make your trip special with services like Magical Floral & Gifts and Disney Fairytale Weddings and Honeymoons .

American couples spend, on average, about $4,800 on domestic honeymoons and even more for honeymoons abroad. The cost of a week at Disney World for two works out to be $4,000 including food and activities, which is slightly less than the national average honeymoon price.

Complimentary "Happily Ever After" buttons can be found at most front desks, customer service locations, and merchandise shops.

Like any other registry, Disney's Honeymoon Wishes Registry allows couples to select from a range of products, services, and experiences — including park tickets, accommodations at a Disney Resort, dining plans, tours, balloon flights, specialty cruises, and more — then friends and family can buy or contribute to the experience.

Disney's European-inspired Riviera Resort is especially romantic with its cozy-yet-luxurious Tower Studios, perfect-sized accommodation for a couple, and rooftop restaurant offering panoramic views and a mix of French and Italian fare.

Pack for your Disney honeymoon as you would with any other trip to the park — with comfortable clothes and footwear, swimwear for pool lounging and spa time, etc. But for this occasion, specifically, you might want to bring bride and groom mouse ears, coordinating newlywed outfits, and wine to drink when you don't feel like spending a fortune to go out.

After all the wedding hoopla, it can be truly fabulous to celebrate married life with a cruise honeymoon.

Walk the deck hand in hand, admiring scarlet sunsets set against the impossibly turquoise sea. Silver Origin in the Galapagos Islands

honeymoon disney cruise

Perhaps you're a nature-loving, adventuresome duo who thinks the best honeymoon cruise involves exploring unspoiled islands like the Galapagos and meeting the most amazing endemic species close-up. That is, if you can do so in style.

The 100-passenger, environmentally sensitive Silver Origin, a ship purpose-built for the region by Silversea Cruises , ticks all those boxes. The most elegant ship sailing the Galapagos Islands off Ecuador's coast, Silver Origin delivers nature-based exploration from a luxurious home base.

All-suite accommodations, designed in neutral hues with rattan and richly woven furnishings, create an upscale sense of place. Soak away the day snapping pictures of flightless cormorants from your ocean-view bathtub; bonus if you spot a whisker-twitching sea lion.

Your butler — yes, all suite occupants enjoy butler service — is a white-gloved, tuxedo-clad personal pamperer who will happily draw an aromatherapy bath, scatter rose petals and light battery-powered candles to flicker around the tub.

When you can be lured out of your luxurious suite, you can dive deep into Galapagos adventures, exploring several of the 19 UNESCO World Heritage Site islands, including Isla Bartolome and Isabela, with a team of high-energy expedition experts. They'll lead you on riveting explorations via Zodiacs to seek out marine life or on foot to tiptoe close to wildlife, such as blue-footed boobies, scarlet Sally Lightfoot crabs and giant tortoises. The ship's Basecamp, information central for all facts Galapagos, makes learning fun with an interactive wall.

When you're not exploring, there's much to savor on board. Tuck into authentic Ecuadorian cuisine like freshly prepared ceviche and red snapper. Then, learn to make such dishes yourself so you can make them back home as a couple.

Hop on a treadmill in the gym, or refresh your wedding manicure in the beauty salon. For a romantic evening, sip craft cocktails while listening to the Explorer Lounge pianist, or cuddle around the Deck 7 fire pit, watching for meteors shooting across the sky.

Celebrity Ascent in the Eastern Mediterranean

honeymoon disney cruise

Doesn't every honeymooner deserve to feast on a magic carpet? Celebrity Cruises ' 3,260-passenger Celebrity Ascent lets you share a meal or drinks with your new spouse on a cantilevered platform (aptly named the Magic Carpet) that can rise 15 decks above the sea.

If that type of modern, edgy experience is what you crave on your trip of a lifetime, this stunning 17-deck vessel will have you celebrating in a big way. Stroll hand in hand through the reimagined Rooftop Garden, with cantilevered float pools extending over the water's edge. Share a soak in a two-story, martini glass-shaped hot tub.

Foodie couples will surely fawn over Le Voyage, the first at-sea restaurant from superstar chef Daniel Boulud, Celebrity's global culinary ambassador. Boulud promises globally inspired plates like smoked salmon loin with cream of caviar, pickled cucumber and dill in a stunner of an establishment.

And, oh, the Greek islands are made for romance. Fall in love all over again as you stroll on the soft sands of the curvaceous Mykonos shoreline with pelicans swooping above and friendly fishermen tipping their caps to you.

In Santorini, sip local wines, buy island-made ceramics or visit tombs dating to the ninth century (if that's your thing). In Athens, go gaga over the Acropolis and the treasure-filled Acropolis Museum. Explore ancient sites from Celebrity Ascent's berth in Katakolon, Greece, before heading to the beach for sun and sand with your sweetheart.

For the ultimate honeymoon digs, book a suite in The Retreat, a swanky enclave within the ship. Celebrity's newest Retreat introduces an expanded two-story sun deck, a private lounge and the Luminae restaurant starring Boulud's signature dishes.

Retreat dwellers relish the best of both Celebrity worlds: more space and privacy by day, along with Ascent's 32 eateries and buzzy bars at night. (The Martini Bar, in the piazza-style Grand Plaza center, is a cool hangout.) Keep date night going with interactive theater and comedy shows, or dance until dawn to DJ-spun music.

Create a temporary home together in the wellness-leaning AquaClass Sky Suites (with special spa perks) or the Edge Villas, two-story suites with private plunge pools. If you really want to splurge, snag a 1,892-square-foot Iconic Suite with a 689-square-foot veranda. This giant residence ensures that if your in-laws tag along (fine, if they foot the bill), you'd hardly see them.

Wind Surf in the Caribbean

honeymoon disney cruise

Seeking a yacht-like honeymoon where sails billow in the breeze? Pick Windstar 's Wind Surf for mellow Caribbean island-hopping cruises, where turquoise seas are calm and the wind is gentle. Few ships are better meccas for romance than this 342-passenger, five-mast ship. Best of all, the onboard ambience is casual, so packing is a snap.

On such a small ship, expect countless personal touches, from signature bowls of fragrant flowers and fresh fruit in your cabin to the softest Egyptian cotton linens. Crew members learn mighty quickly who's honeymooning — there's nearly one crew member per two passengers — and magically appear when you want service and vanish when you don't. Wind Surf lacks private verandas, but on a ship this small, intimate outdoor spaces are easy to find.

When you're ready to socialize, meet fellow passengers at the alfresco Terrace Bar at the ship's aft, where marvelous martinis are shaken and glasses of Champagne are poured. Afterward, head to dinner in the main restaurant AmphorA, French-inspired Stella Bistro or under the stars at Candles Grill.

The spacious fitness center might beckon, but perhaps you'll like the water sports platform best. Snorkel, water ski, kayak and windsurf. If water and weather conditions align, you're in for total fun. Then, go ashore and lose yourself in the magic of Caribbean isles, each one different from the last.

The European vibes in St. Barts are downright sexy, with nearly everyone speaking French and billionaire yachts bobbing in the azure sea. You'll find shopping and dining as fine as in Paris. St. Maarten lures with pastel-painted shops and authentic Creole restaurants. Find a secluded corner on the powder-soft white sands of Jost Van Dyke, or snorkel amid the most colorful fish imaginable. Don't miss wading through the natural pools at The Baths on Virgin Gorda.

Clean up in the WindSpa or the salon, where you can get manicures and pedicures, facials and body wraps. Afterward, book an acupuncture treatment, sure to eliminate any remaining stress from the wedding whirlwind.

Norwegian Prima in Iceland and Northern Europe

honeymoon disney cruise

Iceland's on everyone's bucket list, so why not check that box on your honeymoon? If the weather's chilly, your partner can keep you warm.

Consider this getaway for a summer honeymoon when Norwegian Cruise Line 's 3,100-passenger Norwegian Prima , the first in the line's newest class, sails around Northern Europe.

In Iceland, see active volcanoes and glaciers, hike wildflower-strewn mountains and soak in iconic hot springs. Gawk at the beyond-beautiful fjords in Norway, explore sophisticated Amsterdam and wander the cobbled streets of Bruges, the quaint Belgian city that charms with canals and medieval architecture.

The ship itself embraces an elegance not seen before on typical fun-loving NCL sailings. Norwegian Prima also delivers lots of outdoor deck space, impressive crew-to-guest ratios for a big ship, upgraded cabins and The Haven, NCL's ship-within-a-ship enclave. All 107 Haven suites provide access to an expanded sun deck, a new infinity pool overlooking the ship's wake and an outdoor spa with a glass-walled sauna and a cold room. You even score a 24-hour butler, as well as access to the exclusive Haven restaurant and private lounge.

When you're ready to leave your cabin cocoon, you can roar around Prima Speedway, the first three-level go-kart track at sea. Zoom down The Drop, the first freefall dry slide at sea, or race your spouse on The Rush, which has 10-story-tall dueling, twisting slides.

Or, beeline it to Ocean Boulevard, an outdoor boardwalk wrapping around the entire ship. There, you'll find Indulge Food Hall , Norwegian's first open-air marketplace, where you can savor Texas barbecue, Thai noodles or Spanish-inspired street food, among numerous other choices. Or, Indulge at Just Ice Cream with over-the-top desserts. Go ahead; you already fit into your wedding attire.

Stroll on to find the Infinity Beach area with two pools, the impressive Concourse sculpture garden and the Oceanwalk glass bridges, where you feel as if you're walking on air over the sea. Fleeing an escape room together in the uber-cool Galaxy Pavilion is a fun way to flex your teamwork muscles. There are lots of virtual reality games there, too.

Paul Gauguin in French Polynesia

honeymoon disney cruise

Picture this: white sand beaches, shallow lagoons where multihued fish swim through crystal-clear water, misty mountains and intoxicating breezes scented with tropical flowers.

If this sounds like your ideal "Love Island" (the monogamous version), you should choose French Polynesia for your post-wedding getaway. Besides, all honeymooners deserve a Polynesian blessing ceremony to celebrate the occasion.

Few ships sailing on French Polynesia lure more honeymooners than 330-passenger Paul Gauguin. Now owned by French line Ponant, the luxurious ship (think: South Sea elegance evoked by precious woods, antique engravings and a lagoon-inspired color palate) was renovated in 2021.

Feel the Polynesian atmosphere on board through local art and a virtual museum with more than 150 paintings by the cruise line's namesake, prolific French artist Paul Gauguin, who captured these magical islands in iconic artworks.

No need to rise early for adventure on these voyages — 24-hour room service means dawdling over breakfast, lunch or dinner in bed or on your veranda. (More than 70% of suites and cabins feature private balconies.) Sample cultural cuisine on board — lobster with Tahitian vanilla sauce, anyone? In select cabins and suites, attentive butlers unpack luggage, arrange private cars and make lunch reservations on shore.

Toss to-do lists, and go with the flow. Explore local villages on foot, wander lush rainforests or float as long as you like in blue lagoons. Spend a day on a Paul Gauguin private islet or secluded beach, sipping drinks from coconuts, shaded by palms with baby-soft sand sifting between your toes.

Ready to move? Kayak, snorkel, hit the gym or swim. Dance to live music as stars blanket the sky. Wiggle your hips with Polynesian dancers, and try local crafts. Just when you think the honeymoon can't get any better, a sunset jet boat ride takes it over the top.

Quantum of the Seas in Alaska

honeymoon disney cruise

If you and your shiny new spouse are active types, consider skipping the beach for a bucket-list cruise to Alaska. Royal Caribbean 's Quantum of the Seas offers the right mix of thrilling attractions and sophisticated style.

For an adrenaline rush, ride the NorthStar for 360-degree views of Alaska's glaciers and mountainous scenery, or challenge your partner to a race up the ship's rock-climbing wall. You can even learn to fly at the Ripcord by iFLY sky-diving simulator. Bring out your competitive nature at the SeaPlex, where bumper cars, roller skating, basketball and video games await.

When you're ready to relax from the wedding stress, soak your cares away in the adults-only solarium, or cuddle up on the pool deck to watch a movie on the giant LED screen. Or, shake it all off at a rock show in the Music Hall.

Every night is date night on Quantum of the Seas when you reserve a table for two at one of the many specialty restaurants. Do your best "Lady and the Tramp" impersonation at Jamie's Italian by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, experience a whimsical meal made possible by molecular gastronomy at Wonderland or treat yourselves to sushi at Izumi.

Of course, nothing can top the gorgeous backdrop of Alaska itself. For a honeymoon splurge, take a flightseeing tour to the top of a glacier, where you can ride in a dogsled or kayak at the foot of an ice field. Lunch on Alaskan salmon while you toast each other with locally brewed beer. In Victoria, British Columbia, stroll amid brightly colored flower displays at the Butchart Gardens, and ride the carousel as if it's your first date.

Don't forget to take a selfie while watching the sun set as the ship sails away into the Inside Passage. You'll want to savor these moments for years to come.

Disney Wish in the Bahamas

honeymoon disney cruise

For many couples, the idea of honeymooning on Disney Wish with hundreds of children and larger-than-life mice running amok is their worst nightmare. However, for many Disney and Marvel fans, it's a dream come true. Some super fans even choose to get married on board.

The elegant new Disney Cruise Line ship has plenty of spaces where honeymooning couples can get away for grownup entertainment. Take a dip in the infinity pool at the adults-only Quiet Cove sun deck, or find bliss during a couple's massage at the Senses Spa.

You can geek out at the Worlds of Marvel dining experience , or dress up for a gourmet meal at French restaurant Enchante by Michelin-starred chef Arnaud Lallement. After a long morning in bed, an adults-only brunch at Palo will really hit the spot.

For after-hours entertainment, you can bond over your love of "Star Wars" at the Hyperspace Lounge , where you can sip drinks inspired by the moons of Endor or the planet of Coruscant. Or, get a little rowdy at the Keg & Compass Pub over pints of craft beer.

Disney Wish sails three- and four-night cruises to Nassau and Disney's private island of Castaway Cay in the Bahamas. At the latter, you can slip away to Serenity Bay, the adults-only beach where you can sunbathe without getting splashed or sprayed with sand by your young shipmates. In Nassau, try snorkeling or deep-sea fishing.

Or, stay on the ship and enjoy the AquaMouse water ride while all the kids are ashore.

Oceania Riviera in the Mediterranean

honeymoon disney cruise

It's rare that the wedding couple gets to really enjoy food at their own nuptials. However, you can make up for lost time on a food-centric cruise on 1,238-passenger Oceania Riviera. Sail around the romantic Mediterranean; no matter which route you choose, you'll come home with gorgeous photos and amazing stories to tell.

Your lengthy getaway of seven to 15 nights will feature a new port nearly every day, so you might need to skip one or two to ensure proper relaxation time as newlyweds. When you're in port, wander together along the cobblestone streets of Dubrovnik, Croatia; tour the ancient ruins of Rome; or give your sweetie a smooch as you relax on the idyllic beaches of the French Riviera in St-Tropez.

Back on board, treat yourself to afternoon tea for two, an Oceania Cruises tradition. Feed your sweetie finger sandwiches and petit fours as you sip Earl Grey and soak in the scenery. Sip wine and try to create local dishes at a cooking class at Riviera's Culinary Center, or embrace your creativity with an art class led by the ship's artist-in-residence.

The highlight of your cruise will, no doubt, be dinner. With multiple no-surcharge restaurants on board, you'll enjoy fine cuisine together in a different venue practically every night for a week. Share a steak at the Polo Grill, and indulge in rich French fare at Jacques. Bicker over who gets the last bite of lobster pad Thai at Red Ginger one night, and trade tastes of tiramisu and cannoli at Toscana the next.

If the two of you are true connoisseurs, you might sign up for the extra-fee wine-paired dinners at La Reserve by Wine Spectator or an over-the-top gourmet private dining experience at Privee.

Oceania is known for its ultra-comfortable Tranquility Beds; as honeymooners, you're allowed to spend as much time in them as you please. Splurge on a massive Oceania or Vista Suite to take advantage of expanded balconies with hot tubs and in-suite dining tables when you just want to enjoy a meal in private. Can two people fit in a cruise ship bathtub? There's only one way to find out.

SeaDream I in the French and Italian Rivieras

honeymoon disney cruise

The 112-passenger SeaDream I is as yacht-like as small cruise ships come. Laze with your lover on a top-deck Balinese bed, sipping complimentary Champagne. If the bar doesn't have your preferred beverage, let the crew know; they will procure your desired drink in the next port of call.

You'll take most of your meals outdoors, savoring freshly prepared dishes as the ocean breezes caress your skin. Ditch that pre-wedding diet and dig into filet mignon and lobster, or treat your body right with the line's raw food menu at dinner and healthy organic vegetables at lunch.

The crew will make sure you have all your favorite foods, whether that's spoiling you with caviar or keeping your favorite ship-made chili-chocolate ice cream on hand for whenever you wish to order it.

In the right ports, the crew will open up the ship's water sports marina platform, so the two of you can kayak or paddleboard from the ship or lounge on a floating "island." At night, an outdoor movie might be the perfect opportunity to sneak a kiss in the dark.

Additionally, what could be more romantic than days spent in St.-Tropez, France, or Portofino, Italy? Treat yourself to lunch at a winery, or bike to a Mediterranean beach. We promise you won't need your wedding tux to tour Monte Carlo like James Bond (and you certainly won't need it on board, where the vibe is always casual yet upscale).

Scarlet Lady in the Caribbean

honeymoon disney cruise

Looking for a honeymoon cruise that's a little sexy and a bit naughty? A quickie cruise on Virgin Voyages ' Scarlet Lady to the Caribbean will surely do it for you.

The rebel cruise line likes to do things a little differently. To start, no kids are allowed on board. It's adults-only, and the entertainment reflects the passenger demographic. Deck yourself out in red for Scarlet Night, or score front-row seats to one of the ship's phenomenal shows, such as "Duel Reality," a modern-day version of "Romeo and Juliet" where two rival "gangs" compete against one another in jaw-dropping feats of balance, strength and acrobatics. Bring your sassy selves to a drag show, or brunch at a mostly vegetarian restaurant, where the menu is divided into "nice" and "naughty."

You could even get matching tattoos right on the ship .

Every meal is a date, whether you're tossing back tequila shots over tacos or grilling your own Korean barbecue. Breakfast might be Japanese, lunch a Hawaiian poke bowl and dinner Italian fare. For dessert, no couple should miss the frozen treats at Lick Me Till ... Ice Cream.

For your honeymoon, you'll want to book at least a Sea Terrace with a private balcony, as it comes with a red hammock for those laid-back sea days. If you're feeling flush, treat your VIP selves to Rockstar Quarters, suites that each offer more space, an in-room bar and access to an exclusive sun deck area.

The ship sails short (less than a week) cruises to the Bahamas. On Bimini, Virgin guests have private access to the Bimini Beach Club for all the sunbathing they can fit into a day — no need to worry about tan lines now that wedding photos are done.

How did ‘9-1-1’ make it to 100 episodes “it’s characters that you want in your living room”.

Angela Bassett and co-creator Tim Minear say relatable people in wholly unrelatable situations were the secret sauce behind ABC’s popular first-responders procedural.

Bassett and Krause play first responders on their honeymoon when their cruise ship explodes in the season seven premiere.

When 9-1-1 co-creator Tim Minear signed up on Twitter (now known as X), he chose a telling handle to denote his legacy as a screenwriter and director: @Cancelledagain. “I was sort of infamous for all of my thundering failures over the years,” explains Minear. “ Firefly lasted one season, Terriers one season, The Inside one season, Drive went for six episodes. Everything was canceled, so I just called myself ‘cancelled again,’ which actually worked out for me because these are all beloved little cult shows now.”

Since the series debut on Jan. 3, 2018, the procedural drama about L.A. first responders starring Angela Bassett and Peter Krause has built a reputation for taking natural catastrophes and emergency scenarios to the next level. “I can’t name another show on television that has tackled tsunamis, earthquakes, blackouts, a blimp stadium crash, a train derailment, a Hollywood dam collapse and landslide, sharks on a freeway, escaped zoo animals, an airplane crash into the ocean, a guy falling off a roller coaster, a bus crash into a side of a building, a fire truck hanging off a cliff, and now, in your season opener, a honeymoon cruise disaster complete with pirates, explosions and a capsized ship — spanning three episodes,” Karey Burke, president of 20th Television, said March 5 at 9-1-1 ’s 100th episode celebration that took place in between filming at the Bel-Air Bay Club.

It’s the believability of the characters in these stories and the visual execution of cataclysmic disasters — a testament to the creators’ philosophy of using practical effects as much as possible — that made 9-1-1 ripe for pickup when Fox failed to renew it in May after six seasons. The decision was reported to be financial, as the show remained the network’s most watched series overall and top-rated scripted series with adults 18-49 until the end. This was what Murphy set out to achieve when he first pitched the series — which draws inspiration from the 1970s NBC medical drama Emergency! — to then Fox executive and now Disney entertainment co-chairman Dana Walden. “Ryan really wanted to give her a network hit. He’s literally the only showrunner or creator that I know who can go, ‘You know what, I think it’s time to create a hit for Dana for Fox’ and do it,” says Minear.

The March 14 season seven premiere, a nod to The Poseidon Adventure , brought in 4.93 million viewers, up from season six’s 4.8 million. After three days of viewing across ABC, Hulu and other Disney digital platforms, the episode garnered a total of 8.85 million viewers, setting a streaming record for Disney.

Having cemented audiences’ interest with the high-stakes cruise ship fiasco as the season opener, Minear chose to focus on the other element of 9-1-1 that makes it a win among viewers for its 100th episode, which was directed by Lone Star ’s Chad Lowe: its cast. The story will center on the LAFD crew at Station 118 who rescues a woman intent on receiving a rose at an iconic mansion. “After doing a giant three-episode arc of a disaster for the first three episodes, when I got to episode 100, it was important that it be a regular episode,” says Minear. “You just need to say, this is what the show is. It’s character stories.”

That’s what’s made portraying LAPD patrol sergeant Athena Grant-Nash for seven seasons most rewarding for Bassett. It’s the longest role she’s ever played. “It’s very interesting to have a character that’s so beloved keep finding stories to tell, important stories to tell, and fun stories to tell,” she says.

“I enjoy the idea of blended family and exploring the changing dynamics between a husband and wife, and divorce,” Bassett adds. “I think that’s important because when people grow apart, families don’t have to break up, even after so much trauma.”

The close friendship between “Thena” and “Hen” (Aisha Hinds’ Henrietta Wilson), an openly gay firefighter paramedic — they bond over being Black women in white, male-dominated fields — is adored by viewers. “These are people who get misunderstood themselves,” says Bassett. “The most important thing I wanted people to see in portraying a Black female police officer is the compassion and the understanding that the job says that we are here to protect and to serve.”

The bromance between Evan Buckley (Oliver Stark) and Eddie Diaz (Ryan Guzman), known as “Buddie,” is another fan favorite. Audiences have been trying to ship the duo since they first met in the season two premiere, with Minear jokingly adding fuel to the fire in the 2019 midseason finale when he allowed the pair to be mistaken for a couple. But it’s the story arc of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Maddie Buckley, a trained nurse who works as a 9-1-1 operator, that he’s most enjoyed carrying out onscreen.

These storylines, Minear says, are what ultimately has led 9-1-1 to 100 episodes and counting. “It’s characters that you want in your living room, a found family of heroes, people that run toward danger,” he says. “We’re coming off of this incredible age of Breaking Bad and The Shield and these kind of morally compromised heroes, but there’s nothing morally compromised about our heroes. They are heroes. They are there to save you, whether they like you or not.”
