The country star welcomed several female collaborators for the project, including Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, a co-writer on the album’s title “Subject to Change” and the tour’s namesake, “Heartfirst.” Alysa Vanderheym is also a co-producer on the project, and wrote “Heartfirst” with Fairchild and Ballerini. She also collaborated with Carly Pearce and Kelly Clarkson on the song “You’re Drunk, Go Home.”

“It’s interesting because in the conversation of, ‘Yes, we need more women in country music,’ what does that actually look like?” Ballerini previously told Billboard . “We need more female artists and collaborators but we also need more female opportunities throughout the whole chain of events, you know? I intentionally wanted to write with more women this time. For me, when you are making a record about emotions, when you connect with a woman creatively, you’re gonna be able to tap into that in a whole different way.”

Kelsea Ballerini Unveils New 'HEARTFIRST Tour' Dates In 2023

Kelsea Ballerini is jumping right in with her heart first — again.

Ballerini is kickstarting her “HEARTFIRST Tour” again this spring, following her previous 10-show trek last year, she announced on Thursday (January 12). The announcement comes after Ballerini seemed to drop a few hints on her social media channels, including an Instagram reel reflecting on her previous tour dates and referencing lyrics to her album’s title track: “ready to keep growin up & showin up together? 👀”

The tour, which includes special guest Georgia Webster , follows the release Ballerini’s latest studio album, Subject To Change , which made its long-awaited debut in September. The 90s country-inspired collection included tons of tracks that quickly became fan-favorite anthems, including the tour’s namesake , “The Little Things,” “Love Is A Cowboy,” “You’re Drunk, Go Home” (a “sassbomb” collaboration with Carly Pearce and Kelly Clarkson ) and others.

Ballerini wrote in September, as she released her 15-track project: “if i’m honest, growing up it kinda hurts like hell…and for me, it sounds like this. internal observations, drunken conversations, diehard friendships, jumping in hopeful, owning the cringe, doing my best, discovering the good stuff isn’t always grandiose, falling on my face, being a show pony, taking inventory of what i have… and ultimately welcoming change when it comes . i’m proud of this record and the story it tells. here’s my last two years, and here’s the turning of a page.”

Ballerini kicked off the first leg of the “HEARTFIRST Tour” on September 24, 2022, right after releasing Subject To Change , in New York. The first 10-city tour also included stops in Boston, Massachusetts; Denver, Colorado; Los Angeles California; Atlanta, Georgia and more. Ballerini also revealed last month that she’s launching international “HEARTFIRST Tour” dates in February. See Ballerini’s newly-announced tour dates here :

Kelsea Ballerini announces 2023 Heartfirst Tour dates

New dates follow last fall’s initial 10 night run

Kelsea Ballerini has announced a second North American leg of her Heartfirst Tour. The newly shared dates run throughout March and hit nine cities across the US and Canada. The trek kicks off March 6th in Toronto with stops in Detroit, Columbus, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Atlantic City and Pittsburgh.

“Let’s do this again,” she shares with the tour graphic.

Tickets go on sale Friday, January 20th with presales starting Tuesday, January 17th at 10 am local time via Ticketmaster . Georgia Webster will join as special guest.

The trek takes its name from “Heartfelt,” the first single from Ballerini’s fifth studio album,  Subject to Change , released last fall. The new leg follows 10 fall dates of The Heartfelt Tour .

The country pop star will also be joining Kenny Chesney on his I Go Back 2023 Tour , supporting Wynonna Judd on two The Judds: Final Tour dates, and Shania Twain’s Queen of Me Nashville tour stop this summer.

Ballerini recently teamed with critically acclaimed pop singer/songwriter Fletcher for a duet version of “ Better Version .” Directed by award-winning filmmaker Eva Doležalová (Serpentine, Maestro), the video cinematically depicts a nuanced exploration of post-breakup grief and growth. Fletcher and Ballerini star in the video alongside rising stars Gavin Leatherwood of Sabrina The Teenage Witch and  Sex Lives of College Girls and Ava Capri of Love Victor, Do Revenge .

In April, Ballerini will return to co-host the CMT Music Awards for the third consecutive year , which moves to Austin, TX for the first time. Carrie Underwood, who holds the title as the winningest artist in CMT history , with a total of 25 trophies, was revealed as first performer for the 2023 show when Ballerini surprised the country-pop phenom during a major surprise on-stage moment as part of her sold out The Denim & Rhinestones Tour stop in ATX at Moody Center in November.

Kelsea Ballerini Adds New Dates to 2023 US HEARTFIRST Tour

Although she hasn't yet started the second leg of her US HEARTFIRST tour, which kicks off on March 6, Kelsea Ballerini has extended her 2023 run of shows with newly announced Summer shows.

This third wave of dates will commence on June 16 in Santa Barbara, California, with Kelsea due to make a number of follow-up appearances across the state later in the month.

Kelsea Ballerini recently wrapped up her UK tour, which took her across Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London.

During these shows, the setlist primarily consisted of highlights from Kelsea's much-loved 2022 album, SUBJECT TO CHANGE .

However, the ‘half of my hometown’ hitmaker has also started performing a handful of tracks from her more recent Rolling Up the Welcome Mat EP , such as ‘Penthouse’ and ‘Leave Me Again’.

The vulnerable, revealing project explored the breakdown of Kelsea Ballerini's divorce from fellow country artist, Morgan Evans.

Kelsea confessed on-stage during her final show in London that she never imagined she'd ever play any songs from the EP live.

On March 2, US fans got a taste of what to expect on her upcoming tour dates through her moving rendition of ‘Penthouse’ on the hugely popular TV variety show, Saturday Night Live .

All dates on the recently announced third leg of the HEARTFIRST tour will be support by country prodigy, Georgia Webster, who also opened for Kelsea on all of her UK shows.

Kelsea Ballerini Files Lawsuit Against Former Fan Club Member Who Allegedly Hacked Her Computer & Illegally Released Her New Music

kelsea ballerini new tour dates

Just couldn’t wait on that new Kelsea Ballerini music, eh?

The country star has filed a lawsuit against a former fan club member who she claims hacked into her computer to illegally release her new, unfinished music.

The singer filed a complaint yesterday, which has been obtained and reviewed by Whiskey Riff, requesting a temporary restraining order against Bo Ewing, an Ohio man who she claims gained backdoor access to either her computer or the computer of her producer, Alysa Vanderheym. The alleged hacking occurred on April 7, and Ewing reportedly “gained access to…still-in-production, unreleased masters and demos.”

According to the complaint, Ewing was a former member of Ballerini’s fan club, but has since become “disenfranchised” with the singer. A picture included in the court filing shows Ewing meeting Ballerini at a concert, while a tweet attached as an exhibit shows Ewing reportedly telling somebody that:

“You introduced me to Kelsea so I don’t think I trust your taste sorry”

His Twitter account has since been locked, but also included are 2017 tweets where Ewing bragged about leaking confidential information on an upcoming Taylor Swift album.

The complaint says that Ewing “took it upon himself to go online and seek out confidential and privileged information about Ms. Ballerini’s yet-to-be-released new album,” and has since shared the new music, which includes 12 unreleased songs, with numerous members of Kelsea’s fan club.

Ballerini, along with Vanderheym and her record label, Black River Entertainment, are requesting a temporary restraining order as well as a preliminary injunction to prevent Ewing from further distributing the new music. Ballerini and Vanderheym have also filed claims for violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, as well as the Tennessee Personal and Commercial Computer Act, requesting damages for anticipated lost profits and loss of autonomy over the works.

Her record label, meanwhile, has also filed a claim for copyright infringement, seeking statutory damages in the amount of $150,000 per infringement.

The court quickly issued a restraining order yesterday, ordering Ewing to cease from “transferring, distributing, or otherwise disseminating any copies of any unreleased still-in-production demos and masters of songs.”

The case is set for a hearing on April 24 at the federal courthouse in Nashville.

Fletcher Has 'Seen All the Shipping' of Her Friendship With Kelsea Ballerini

Pop artist Fletcher and country singer Kelsea Ballerini recently released a song called “Better Version,” which Fletcher originally released as a solo track on her 2022 album Girl of My Dreams. With Fletcher and Ballerini showcasing their friendship on social media, some fans began to hope that the two might be in a romantic relationship. In an interview with People Magazine, Fletcher admitted that she has “seen all of the shipping” posts about her friendship with Ballerini.

Fletcher knows fans ship her and Kelsea Ballerini

Fletcher and Ballerini released a music video for “Better Version” on Jan. 6. After collaborating on the song, Fletcher and Ballerini started posting on social media about hanging out frequently in addition to promoting the song and music video.

The two singers also notably attended Taylor Swift’s Grammy Awards after-party together. Fletcher is a member of the LGBTQ community, and Ballerini is rumored to be in a relationship with actor Chase Stokes .

In an interview with People Magazine , Fletcher shared that she knows some fans want her friendship with Ballerini to be romantic.

“Oh, I’ve seen all the shipping,” Fletcher said. “I think Kelsea and I have always just said that when special people come into your life at times during your healing process, people can make whatever they want out of a dynamic. We’ve seen all the comments, and it’s a funny thing.”

How Fletcher and Kelsea Ballerini became friends

Speaking with People Magazine, Fletcher revealed how she and Ballerini first met and became friends.

“She came to one of my shows on tour this year in March. And we just very much hit it off, and [we] went on vacation and hang out. We’re just real-life friends. She’s somebody that if I’m having a panic attack about something, we’re actually humans that can pick up the phone and call each other,” said the singer.

She continued, “That’s just really special to have somebody else be like, ‘Hey, are you feeling these things? I’m feeling these things,’ and to lean on each other in those ways is super beautiful. Kelsea’s the best.”

The two collaborated on ‘Better Version’ together

In September 2022, Fletcher released her first studio album Girl of My Dreams. In the interview with People Magazine, Fletcher shared that her sexuality has helped shape her music.

“Being queer has definitely been something that’s been a really big piece of my journey, and my childhood, and my self-discovery, and who I’ve developed into as a person, which has wildly informed my art,” she said.

The solo version of “Better Version” is on the original version of Girl of My Dreams, while the feature with Ballerini is part of the deluxe edition. In the music video for “Better Version,” Fletcher and Ballerini are in two separate relationships and start to fall out of love with their partners.

“Do you think of me when you f*** her?/ Do you use the moves, the ones we learned?/ It’s always the next person/ That gets the better version/ ‘Cause baby, I loved you at your worst/ And I fixed your heart, but mine still hurts/ And now some other person/ Is gonna get the better version of you/ Of you,” the two sing in the song’s chorus.

In addition to collaborating with Fletcher, Ballerini released a new EP of her own on Feb. 14 called Rolling Up the Welcome Mat .

Kelsea Ballerini Transforms into a ‘Strawberry Blonde’ But Says Makeover Wasn’t on Her ‘Bingo Card’

Kelsea Ballerini Is Turning into a Strawberry Blonde

Kelsea Ballerini is — unintentionally — going strawberry blonde.

Ballerini, 30, took to Instagram on Tuesday, April 23, to show off her transforming hair color. In the selfie, she held up her blonde hair, which had a subtle red tint to it. “Turning into a strawberry blonde wasn’t on my bingo card but here we are,” she captioned the post.

While giving fans a look at her hair, which was still damp from swimming, Ballerini posed in a triangle bikini top featuring an orange border and green circles. She accessorized with a tan silk scrunchie, three beaded bracelets and a gold necklace.

The country singer is known for her platinum blonde hair, which she showed off at the 2024 CMT Music Awards earlier this month. For the ceremony, she rocked a red David Koma gown featuring a strappy neckline, lace embellishments and flowy pleated skirt. Her strands were parted down the middle and styled in soft curls.

For glam, Ballerini’s makeup artist, Kelsey Deenihaan Fisher , created a glowy look using all CoverGirl products, including the Simply Ageless Skin Tint Essence Foundation , the Clean Fresh Brow Pomade Filler Pencil, the Perfect Point Plus Ink Eyeliner and more. Fisher topped the look off with the Exhibitionist by Kelsea Ballerini Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow and glossy lips. (Ballerini dropped a collaboration with CoverGirl in November 2023.)

Kelsea Ballerini Is Turning into a Strawberry Blonde

Ahead of the show, Ballerina shared her getting ready process, which included sleeping in and enjoying a sauna, per Glamour Magazine .

“The dress is red and we wanted that to be the moment so we tried to keep makeup just kind of simple and light,” Ballerini said after getting her glam done. “And the hair is hair-ing.”

A Walk-Through of Kelsea Ballerini's Tattoos From the Singer Herself

Updated on 4/23/2024 at 7:05 PM

kelsea ballerini new tour dates

Kelsea Ballerini's tattoo collection may not be as robust as boyfriend Chase Stokes's many designs , but they're still worth checking out. While her latest piece of ink — a delicate hummingbird located on her back — has caught many fans' eyes, you might be surprised to learn this is far from her first tattoo. The Grammy-nominated musician has been slowly building up a meaningful tattoo collection that now boasts six designs — many of which she got in 2023 alone. Though Ballerini got her first tattoo in 2014 in a somewhat haste (more on that later), she's made sure that all her designs serve as an authentic reflection of her personal and artistic growth. This explains the extended hiatus between her newer and older designs.

"I took a break," Ballerini tells PS in an interview. "Then [I] made some life changes in the last year and a half, and got it," she explained, referring to the minimalist wave that she got on her hip earlier this year. When asked whether she'd ever consider potentially covering her existing tattoos or removing them , she says, "I believe in no regrets." Even as she embarks on a new era of her body art, she says, "I stand by my life. And so I made the decision to get this when I made it," adding, "I think if things no longer suit you, you're allowed to change your mind."

Ahead, we have rounded up all of Ballerini's tattoos along with their meanings. From capturing her sentimental memories to celebrating her personal and musical milestones, read on to learn more about the country star's growing ink collection.

Kelsea Ballerini’s Hummingbird Back Tattoo

Kelsea Ballerini’s Hummingbird Back Tattoo

Ballerini recently unveiled her beautiful back tattoo of a small hummingbird at the 2023 MTV VMAs, which she claims is her favorite design thus far. She got it done at NYC's hottest tattoo shop, Bang Bang, where she worked with tattoo artist Michelle Santana . "She's incredible. She's getting her debut on the VMAs. I'm so excited," Ballerini says, gushing over the tattooist who helped create this intricate piece.

Kelsea Ballerini’s “Mountain of the View” Forearm Tattoo

In a July 2023 Instagram post , Ballerini debuted another piece of fresh ink that sits neatly on her left forearm. The delicate single-needle design depicts a scenic view of a mountain range with birds and the sun. When asked about the inspiration behind the piece, she revealed that its significance is rooted in her music and personal growth.

"I have a song on my EP ("Rolling Up the Welcome Mat") called "Mountain With a View," and it was just a really important moment for me, just personally. So got that," she says.

Kelsea Ballerini’s Waves Hip Tattoo

Ballerini kicked off 2023 by adding a fourth tattoo to her growing body-art collection. The singer got a small wave on her left hip, which "sparked her journey of tattoos again."

It's a design she had been thinking about getting for a long time. "Then [I] made some life changes in the last year and a half, and got it," she says, describing how the ink represents a fresh start in both her personal life and her body-art journey.

Kelsea Ballerini’s “Love Love” Tattoo

Kelsea Ballerini’s “Love Love” Tattoo

The text "Love Love" is inked on Ballerini's right rib cage, with each word written in her parents' handwriting. The singer says this is her most meaningful tattoo to date. "It says, 'Love Love,' and it's my mom and my dad's handwriting," she tells us. She got the writing from a letter they wrote her around the time she released her first single. "It said, 'Love, Mom; Love, Dad,'" she says. "And so, I was in New Orleans when the song went number one, and I took the 'Love's from the letters, and I put them side by side on my ribs."

Kelsea Ballerini’s “Square Pegs” Wrist Tattoo

Kelsea Ballerini’s “Square Pegs” Wrist Tattoo

To commemorate the empowering message of nonconformity in her 2015 single "Square Pegs" off her debut album "The First Time," Ballerini got a tiny abstract illustration tattooed on the inside of her left wrist. "This one is, it's a square peg and a round hole, and it's from a song from my first record," she says. "And honestly, I got it with a group of 12 people drunkenly after I played my first headline show up the Troubadour. So that's that." Fellow country artist Levi Hummon is among the people who got this matching ink with Ballerini.

Kelsea Ballerini’s “How Sweet the Sound” Wrist Tattoo

Kelsea Ballerini’s “How Sweet the Sound” Wrist Tattoo

Ballerini has the cursive script "How sweet the sound" inked horizontally on the inside of her left wrist. The text is an ode to "Amazing Grace," the first solo song she performed in her church choir growing up, which largely inspired her passion for music. She chose this sentimental lyric as her first piece of ink and got it right before her first-ever photo shoot following the release of her 2014 debut single, "Love Me Like You Mean It."

While speaking with Shape magazine in a 2021 story, she revealed the funny story behind how this meaningful, yet very impromptu, tattoo came to be. "The day before my first photo shoot, I panicked because I wanted a tattoo but didn't have one yet," she says. "And I was like, 'What if this single works and people start to follow me?' Then all of a sudden, I get a tattoo. People will be like, 'She's going off the deep end.'" To avoid that, she went to the tattoo parlor the day before the shoot. "It was just this youthfully innocent way of saying, 'I've got to be who I am from the beginning of this.'"
