Best Travel Bras Compared

The Necessity of a Good Travel Bra…

It’s no secret that an ill-fitting bra can ruin even the most picturesque day exploring a new city. But a well-chosen travel bra does more than just prevent discomfort. It enhances your travel experience by offering the right support as you dash through airports, hike up mountains, or dance at a local festival.

What Makes a Good Bra For Travel?

As with any other travel essential, there are a few key attributes that a travel bra should possess:

  • Comfort : After hours of exploring, you’ll need a bra that’s breathable, adjustable, and supportive. It should feel like a second skin, moving with you, not against you.
  • Durability : Travel can be tough on our clothes, and bras are no exception. Opt for high-quality materials and construction. A good travel bra should withstand multiple wears and washes without losing its shape or comfort.
  • Versatility : A bra that works with different outfits is worth its weight in gold. Be it a plunging neckline dress for a romantic dinner, a t-shirt for a city tour, or a tank top for a beach day, your bra should be able to keep up.
  • Easy maintenance : When you’re on the go, the last thing you need is high-maintenance clothing. A great travel bra should be easy to clean and quick-drying.
  • Security : Travel bras with hidden pockets are a secret weapon against pickpockets. Perfect for stashing extra cash or a copy of your passport!
  • Quick-drying: The ability to dry quickly is essential, especially if you need to wash your bra during your trip.
  • Moisture-wicking: Bras with moisture-wicking properties keep you dry and fresh, especially during hot and humid travel conditions.
  • Breathability: Look for bras that allow airflow to prevent excessive sweating and discomfort.
  • Odor resistance: Anti-odor bras are a bonus, ensuring you stay fresh even after prolonged wear.
  • Packability: Consider bras that are easy to fold and pack without losing their shape.

With these attributes in mind let’s looks at some of the best travel bras you can buy online right now.

The Most Comfortable Bras for Traveling, According to T+L Editors

These editor-loved bras are comfortable, breathable, and great for long travel days.

  • Our Top Picks
  • Why Trust T+L

Travel + Leisure / Kristin Kempa

Anyone who wears a bra understands the importance of choosing the right one for long travel days. If you’re going to be sitting in a plane or car for hours on end, your bra needs to be supportive without feeling too restrictive, without annoying rubbing or scratching. Ideally, you’ll also want some moisture-wicking benefits to help stay cool and comfortable during a long day of sightseeing.

With plenty of travel time under our belts, Travel + Leisure editors were eager to share the most comfortable bras we all wear and pack for trips. Here are 18 travel editor-approved picks, from supportive underwire options to unlined bralettes, with options for all bust sizes.

True & Co Women's True Body Lift Triangle Adjustable Strap Bra

When it comes to long travel days, a soft yet supportive bra is going to be the middle ground most people look for. This triangle bra from True & Co offers the support of an underwire with the barely-there comfort of a bralette thanks to adjustable straps and its nylon and elastane makeup.

“It’s so comfy, soft, and lightweight that you forget you’re wearing it,” senior editor Emily Belfiore said. “The removable pads provide customizable coverage and my breasts stay in place when I’m moving through the airport, going to TSA security, and putting my luggage in the overhead bin.”

Cuup The Mesh Balconette

If you want the function and fit of a classic bra without feeling like you’re actually wearing one, you’ll like this mesh bra from Cuup. The wide straps help to lift and shape without digging into your shoulders, while the lightweight underwire works hard to provide lasting support.

“The mesh makes it very lightweight and cool, even on sweaty travel days, and I love the balconette-style fit, which I find very flattering,” Belfiore shared.

Athleta Conscious Crop Bra D-DD

On long flights , a standard bra just won’t cut it when comfort is your main priority. This longline bra from Athleta is a great alternative made with buttery soft fabric that feels smooth on the skin. It also doubles as a tank top, so you can wear it under bulkier items like sweatshirts and jackets with the ability to slip them off when you get too hot.

“It’s great to have handy as a workout top if your itinerary is active,” Belfiore noted. “It’s one of the only longline sports bras/workout tank tops I’ve tried that doesn’t roll up when you’re moving around.”

Branwyn Essential Bralette

I’m a sweaty person when I travel, so I normally can’t wait to change my clothes after a long international flight in a warm economy cabin . That’s why I was amazed when I wore this bralette for the first time and didn’t feel uncomfortably funky after 20-plus hours of travel. The Branwyn Essential Bralette is made primarily from merino wool, which means it’s naturally moisture-wicking and odor-resistant. I love that I can wear it for days on end without needing to throw it in the wash. It keeps me comfortable on travel days and means I can cut down on my packing list. It’s also very supportive for a bralette.

Calvin Klein Women's Invisibles Seamless Adjustable Bralette

While removable padding can be a little annoying at times, T+L writer Asia London Palomba prefers it in this bralette since it can then double as loungewear. It’s made with smooth microfiber that feels luxe against the skin and the clasp-free back means no uncomfortable poking will occur. This bra is also available in a variety of neutral colors.

“Its stretchy material doesn't dig into my skin and it features skinny adjustable straps, which makes it great for long travel days,” Palomba said. “I've worn it for 8-plus hour travel days and it's always been comfy.”

ThirdLove 24/7 Classic T-Shirt Bra

If you’re willing to spend a little more on a bra, you can be confident purchasing from ThirdLove. Their popular 24/7 Classic T-shirt Bra is well-loved for a variety of reasons, including memory foam cups, adjustable straps, and a no-show double-layer back. The unique pleated straps also help keep everything in place along your shoulders.

“This is one of the most comfortable, lightweight bras I own,” editor Jackie Cucco said. “Like the name suggests, I always feel comfortable wearing it underneath plain T-shirts (or other delicate tops) because it won't show any lines.”

Bombas Ribbed Seamless Bralette

Although best known for its ultracomfortable socks, Bombas makes equally cozy bras that are discreet, but offer all the support you need to get through a long travel day. This one has a wide size range (A to F) and gives great shape and lift, which can be rare when it comes to bralettes. It also doesn’t have any padding.

“I adore Bombas bralettes, especially the Scoop Bralette,” editor Erin Cavoto gushed. “I love wearing it in the summer because I don't mind getting sweaty in it since it dries quickly and there isn't any padding. The straps also adjust to be racerback, and I find that it's so easy to snap them off and back on.”

ThirdLove 24/7 Classic Wireless Bra

As a smaller-chested person, I don’t need a lot of support in my bras and I certainly don’t want to feel constricted when flying for 10 or more hours. That’s why I’m a huge fan of ThirdLove’s 24/7 Classic Wireless Bra. It feels like a cross between a bra and a bralette, offering more support and a thicker lining than a bralette without the discomfort that sometimes comes with bras. I don't feel anything digging uncomfortably, but I also don't feel like I'm wearing nothing. Every little bit of comfort on a long economy flight counts, so I love that I barely notice it.

Calvin Klein Modern Seamless Triangle Bralette

Triangle bras are an ideal design because they can be worn under tops with a variety of necklines without showing. This seamless triangle bralette will work under t-shirts, tank tops , dresses, and more, meaning it’s up for the necessary task of multitasking when luggage space is low.

“It leaves you feeling much more free than a sports bra and doesn't have any underwire to dig in while you're trying to kick back and relax on a plane,” senior editorial director Nina Ruggiero said.

Skims Fits Everybody Scoop Bralette

Kim Kardashian’s brand Skims is known for comfortable and ultraflattering garments, and this scoop bralette fits the bill. Made with buttery-soft polyamide and elastane fabric, it provides a smooth fit without sacrificing support. The wide range of neutral colors and expansive sizing ranging from 2XS to 4XL make it a particularly inclusive option for all travelers.

“This bralette is always my go-to while traveling — it's so comfortable that I even forget that I'm wearing a bra,” T+L writer Rosie Marder raved. “It offers the perfect balance of support and style, looking great under almost any shirt, especially cozy ones. Best of all, it provides support without feeling constrictive.”

Soma Vanishing Unlined Perfect Coverage Bra

While an underwire bra might not be your first pick for a long train, plane, or car ride , this unlined option from Soma is worth the exception. The underwire offers the support you need while remaining hidden and flat to avoid digging or poking. The cups are also molded with a built-in petal for enough coverage without the need for padding.

“I'm not typically an underwire bra fan, but this one is hardly noticeable, which is why it earned a spot in my rotation of undergarments,” editor Anna Popp gushed. “The fabric is super smooth and breathable, making it ideal for warm-weathered travel. Even with the wired cups, it packs down fairly flat, too.”

Le Mystére Seamless Comfort Bralette

If comfort is your top priority, you can’t go wrong with this bralette. It’s made with nylon and spandex for a seamless, stretchy experience that is supportive and thick enough to provide sufficient coverage. Choose from three colors and five sizes (S to 2XL). The brand’s website also has plenty of information about finding your ideal bra size, as well as the ability to schedule a virtual fitting appointment.

“This is the only bra I will wear on a travel day since it's so comfortable and breathable,” Popp said. “I wore it all summer for six weeks of travel and I'm already planning to get it in other colors.”

Eby Relief Bra

As its name suggests, you can breathe a sigh of relief when you slip on this comfortable and supportive bra from Eby. It’s totally seamless but doesn’t skimp on technicalities — you’ll find plenty of support and smoothing action where you need it. The adjustable straps allow for a more customized fit and the plunging neckline lets you wear it under many different tops.

“It's perfect for travel since I can wear it under virtually any outfit and it will provide the support I need for a full day of sightseeing,” Popp shared. “Plus, it doesn't have an underwire, which makes it all the more comfortable in my opinion.”

Paka Women's Alpaca Bralette

Barely-there comfort meets shape retention with this bralette from Paka, a Peru-based company that incorporates alpaca fiber into the majority of their products. This, combined with other materials like tencel, organic cotton, and spandex, results in a bra that is non-toxic, extra light, and naturally anti-microbial and odor-resistant — which is perfect for days you’re on the go for hours at a time.

“ This is such a great sports-bra style exclusively for lounging,” editor Taylor Fox raved. “The material is ultrasoft and it holds me up without uncomfortable underwires. For long-haul flights and road trips, this is the perfect option for when you don't really want to wear a bra, but do want a bit of coverage.”

Fanka SpeedDry Front Zip Sports Bra

Whether you’re heading on an active excursion or a bumpy bus ride, a supportive sports bra can be a necessity for many travelers. This one is easy to take on and off thanks to the front zipper, meaning you won’t struggle with it after a sweaty day. It’s also made with breathable materials that allow for plenty of airflow.

“ I love a sports bra for travel and not only does this design zip in the front, but the straps are adjustable, so you can get the most comfortable fit for your body type,” Fox added.

Auden Auden Lightly Lined Wirefree Lounge Bra

Lounge bras are ideal for traveling, offering support without minimizing comfort. The material of this bra is soft and wire-free, keeping it comfortable and improving its longevity because there are no wires to bend or break. The wire-free construction also makes this easy to wash with the rest of your clothes — meaning it’s ideal for hotel laundry setups.

“I have this bra in a couple of colors, and it's one of my favorites to wear during travel days because it's so dang comfortable and lightweight,” editor Jasmine Grant said. “This is one of the most comfortable bras I own, and for the price, you can easily stock up on a few.”

Cosabella Curvy Racie Racerback Bralette

As someone with a small band and a large cup size, associate editorial director Morgan Ashley Parker often reaches for Cosabella's Curvy Collection when traveling. The wireless bralettes are the most comfortable for traveling and feature thoughtful details like a mesh lining, wide straps, and snug (but not tight) bands. Sizes range from DD to H cups and bands start at size 28. This racerback is a best-selling style made with soft Italian lace and a plunging neckline.

“I own several styles — including the strapless bandeau and this longline one I've worn under a blazer as a tank — but the racerback is my all-time favorite,” Parker raved. “All bras come in a range of bright colors and skin tones, and I love wearing these under sundresses on warm-weather trips.”

Calvin Klein Invisibles Lightly Lined V-neck Bralette

Thin, lightly lined bralettes can be hit-or-miss when it comes to coverage and support, but this bralette from Calvin Klein does not miss. Designed to disappear underneath your clothes, it lives up to its name with seamless microfiber and a low neckline that can be worn under a variety of tops. Don’t let the lack of wired support fool you, this bra is plenty snug and sturdy.

“ It's rare that a standard-size bralette offers the support I need but after I saw an influencer with a similar body shape rave about this exact style, I had to add one to my cart,” Parker shared. “She wasn't lying as this smooth bra feels like I'm not wearing anything but the offered support says otherwise. I can't possibly take a redeye flight wearing anything else.”

Lift your spirits with these 15 travel bras

By Marin Scotten, Editorial Intern, JourneyWoman

Let’s face it: finding a bra that is comfortable, supportive and fits properly is difficult for all women. Finding a fashionable bra that works well in any climate and fits those of us who are taller or heavier, is another. A challenge that our readers were eager to take on when this topic came up on our private Facebook group recently.

Marti Sladek laid out the situation: “Let’s talk about bras,” she wrote. “I am in my 70s and tall, size 18. I’m looking for recommendations on travel bras that will give some support and coverage, but are also wireless, cool in jungle heat and quick dry after hand wash.”

Game on. A flurry of discussion began, evaluating suitable candidates based on their versatility, comfort and support. We’ve taken the liberty of curating these into a final list of 15, plus one new entrant, evaluated by Marti herself. (We’d love your undies and bathing suit recommendations next ladies! )

15 travel bras recommended by women

1. Kohls Tek-Gear Medium Impact Sports Bra

Kohls Tek-Gear Medium Impact Sports Bra

4. Tilley Women’s Travel Bra

Specifically designed for travel, this Tilley bra is best known for its comfortably hidden pockets, perfect to keep your passport, cash or keys nearby. It is made from a silky stretch fabric and is designed to wick moisture and dry fast.

Tilley Women’s Travel Bra

“Leading Lady bras are very lightweight, will dry overnight, no underwire, good coverage and does up at the front, makes it really easy. I have looked for years and finally found this. I was at a point that I did not want to put on a bra at all, most are so restrictive,” Leslie says.

Liquid IV electrolytes

This wirefree bra from Bali offers a flexible fit and all around comfort. Their specially designed comfort band is made to move with you, ensuring all day comfort. It is made from a combination of nylon and spandex and sizes range from 32 to 42.

The Late Entrant: Juno Activewear

When Juno Activewear heard about our feature, they were eager to be included. It seemed only right to send samples to the woman who started it all, Marti.

Juno sent Marti a bra and panties set to try, the QuikWik Soft Control Bra and Comfort Briefs .

Marti wearing her Juno bra and pantie set

Cons:  The band of the bra is narrow, and it rolled under. This isn’t because it was too small–in fact, I think the next size would be too large–but rather on someone as tall (6 feet) and long-torsoed as I am, the whole bra just isn’t quite long enough. Maybe a wider band would help. Typical of a sports bra, there are no back hooks or strap adjusters, which makes it a little tough for someone with arthritis to pull on, but with the stretch, I got it on and tucked in easily enough. The thick side seams on the bra pressed in a tad too much, and went too high up into the arm. Is it too much to ask any undie company not to have a scratchy tag?

One of my concerns for travel is pieces that dry quickly overnight so I can pack light. These did not. The seams were still damp 8 hours after hand-washing, rolling in a towel for a few minutes and hanging them.

Summary: Overall, I like these better than any other activewear styles I have tried. They aren’t an add-on of a major brand. They are specifically made for those of us not built like supermodels.

Kitty

While I have a few Knix Evolution bras and love them, my absolute travel fave is the Knix “Good to Go” seamless bra. I just returned from a 6 week European vacation, a 4 day girls’ weekend in Southern California and a week in Pennsylvania for a wedding. I only took 3 of those bras, one with the padding still in and 2 with the padding taken out. So light and comfy!!! It was like I didn’t feel anything, and wearable under anything. They were not uncomfortable in the 30-40 celsius temperatures I encountered. I highly recommend this bra!!!

Guide To the Best Bras For Travel

Traveling is exciting. The thrill of venturing into unknown territories, the anticipation of what’s on the horizon, the joy of new experiences, and the exhilaration of breaking away from the routine.

However, packing for the trip can often be a daunting task, especially for us females. I often tell my husband how easy he has it as I watch him throw in some long pants, some shorts a few shirts and a few pairs of underwear in a matter of minutes.

Meanwhile, I’m taking hours to decide which dresses to bring what tops to match with what skirts and shorts, which shoes I need for each out fit and, of course,  deciding which undergarments to pack. I especially struggle to decide which bras to pack as I need different styles, colours and materials for different activities.

So, this post is for the ladies.

The Perfect Bras for Short Trips

When packing for a short trip like a weekend getaway, I aim to take just two bras that  that will work for different outfits.

If I absolutely had to only take one, the perfect bra is a multiway or convertible bra. A convertible bra is great option for short trips because it  adjusts to be worn as a regular, a halter, a racerback, or a strapless bra. This makes it an incredibly flexible choice that can pair with different ensembles.

My second bra of choice for a short trip is a comfortable but pretty bra that can be worn from morning to evening events. A t-shirt bra works perfectly for this requirement as it provides comfort, yet seamless enough not to show under tight-fitting clothing.

Best Bras for a Beach Vacation

Heading for a week-long beach vacation? Perhaps packing for Cancun , or exploring the coastal cities of the Mediterranean or heading for beautiful Thailand ? When going on a beach trip, the type of bras you pack should veer more towards lighter materials, preferably non-wired and absorbent because you’ll be likely to sweat more. A cotton bralette is perfect for this as it’s lightweight and breathable.

I also like to pack a good quality swimsuit tank or bikini top that can double as a bra for casual outings. A cute and supportive  bikini top can double as a sports bra or a breezy tank top is great for those beachside yoga sessions or beach volleyball games.

Best Bras for Travel Longer-Term

My travel is usually longer term and I often need to consider multiple situations and activities and even different climates. This makes  selecting the right bras  more challenging.

I try to stick to a total of four bras for longer term travel: a convertible bra; a comfy t-shirt bra; a padded dressy bra and a good sports bra. My wardrobe tends to lean neutral, so I stick to neutral-coloured bras like black, white and tan. But if you tend to wear very colourful clothes you will probably want to add some colour in your bra selection as well.

Tip: A good general rule for packing is to choose one colour in addition to your neutral-coloured clothing. This way you only need to bring undergarments and accessories that work with that one colour. It really helps to simplify your wardrobe and ease the stress of packing.

Lingerie For An Elegant Evening Out

If you know, or hope, you’ll be  attending formal events or fancy dinner dates, a  a plunge bra, lacy balconette or strapless bra are good additions. These styles will work perfectly with low-cut or off-shoulder gowns, ensuring that you maintain both style and comfort throughout the event.

Of course, at the end of the day, the choice of bras you pack depends on the destination, the climate and the activities you are planning to do. But it’s also good to prepare for the unexpected! Plus, remember, comfort should always come first, so make sure you try out and test the bras before packing them. Having the right bras can make a difference in your travels, enhancing your overall comfort and travel experience, and making those cherished memories even more memorable.

The very Best Bras For Travel Bras PIN

When traveling anywhere in the world, you need to think about many different things before you go. For instance, you need to plan your route, you need to think about visa and passport issues, and you need to pack. Within all of that, you also need to figure out how to keep your most valuable possessions safe. Of course, you also need to be comfortable too!

Did you know that you can combine your comfort with safety at the same time?

Girls welcome to the world of travel bras.

Skip Ahead To My Advice Here!

What Is A Travel Bra?

As the name suggests, a travel bra is, first and foremost, a bra. We all need a bra. We need to be comfortable, we don’t need to feel like we can’t move, and we need to be supported. Some bras, however, serve a second purpose: keeping your credit cards, passport, and other small and essential items safe. This is through small, hidden pockets that are sewn into the bra. No, it won’t cause bulk or discomfort because it’s all designed to be super-streamlined. Clever, right?

On the other hand, some travel bras don’t have hidden pockets; they are designed to be super comfortable and supportive while moving around for long periods and packed down small .

Look at the specs below if you want a travel bra with pockets.

This particular bra comes in a good nude color, so it is pretty versatile regarding what you can wear underneath. The bra is light and made of soft polyamide fabric, so it is the best quick-dry travel bra, perfect if you get a little sweaty while out and about. The bra has five hidden pockets, ideal for jewelry, cash, passport, and cards.

The bra also has an adjustable chest band, so as you place things inside, you can adjust for comfort and support. There are no wires to dig into your chest or sides, and the seams are flat-locked, so they don’t bulk out and cause extra lines to appear under your clothes.

This is an excellent bra for travel, especially for backpackers.

Light Support Strappy Seamless 2 Pack

This two-pack of essential sports bras could easily be worn as a fashion piece, as they appear more like a bralette than a functional sports bra. The crossover back straps can be adjustable for comfort and support, and the bras can be washed in the washing machine, as they’re made of a nylon and elastane mix.

Panache Women’s Non-Wired Sports Bra

What To Look For In A Travel Bra

So, now you know you need a travel bra, what do you need to look for when purchasing one?

  • Budget : Obviously, you shouldn’t spend more than you can afford, so shopping around and sticking to your budget is important.
  • Colour options: Do you wear light-colored clothes more often? If you are someone who prefers to wear darker colors, you need a black or navy blue option so the light color underneath won’t show through your outfit. In that case, you need a nude or white colored bra.
  • Straps: What kind of straps does the bra have? Does it have thick straps or thin ones? This is a personal preference you need to consider when purchasing.
  • Is it convertible: Does the bra convert into a strapless option? Does it switch, so the straps cross over at the back to avoid strap lines when wearing racerback tops?
  • Is it suitable for exercising or hiking: How much support does the bra offer? If you’re doing sports or hiking, getting from A to B travel requires a bra that offers more support and padding than regular.
  • Space: How much space does the bra take up in your bag? Want to know how to pack bras for travel? Some travel bras can be bulky to pack, because of the space inside for storing things, so consider this. You also need to think about how much space is inside for storing your valuables, if it has this function, e.g.,g how many credit cards or debit cards does it hold?

What Makes A Good Bra For Travel?

What makes a good travel bra? A bra with all the above options and one you feel comfortable in. Shopping around is the only way to ensure all of that happens, but some excellent bras are on the market.

Choosing the best travel bra should, therefore, be comfortable and supportive; it shouldn’t look bulky or ugly and could offer you space to store a small number of valuable items too. If you are doing any strenuous activity, such as hiking, you should also look into a more sports-designed type of bra, perhaps with a little more compression support built-in.

Why Do You Need A Comfortable Bra For Travel?

When we’re traveling, we need to be comfortable and supported, and travel is none of those things when you’re wearing a cheap bra that offers zero support, and the straps keep falling. You might be enjoying active travel too, e.g., hiking or exercising; in that case, you need extra help too.

We mentioned that some travel bras have hidden pockets to keep your small valuables safe, but you can also cut down on the number of small bags you need to take with you by utilizing the space within the bra. For instance, do you want to take extra things in your bag while hiking? You might not have room.

For these reasons, a good quality, comfortable, versatile, and supportive travel bra is essential to your travel armory.

13 Comfortable Bras For Traveling, Working Out, and More

Comfy Bras Girlfriend Collective

If there’s one style lesson quarantine has taught us, it’s that comfort is key, and as such, underwire bras are almost entirely unnecessary. Instead, bralettes, sports bras, athletic tops, and soft, wireless bras have been on rotation (often paired with leggings or bike shorts, if we’re being honest). We asked editors to recommend bras that fit well, are barely noticeable, and still offer some support. These are the comfortable bras we'd normally reserve for long-haul flights or road trips, but have been wearing day in and day out while staying at home. Below, 13 of the most comfortable bras for every chest size, from brands like Girlfriend Collective, Madewell, and Alo.

Lululemon In Alignment bra

“Lululemon's new In Alignment bra has become my go-to for workouts. It's made out of the same buttery material as the brand's cult favorite Align leggings, and feels smooth and great under any top. And even though it's billed as light support, I've worn it for more intense classes, like boxing and HIIT, without any issue. I love that it has a back clasp, so I don't have to worry about pulling a muscle when taking off my bra after a sweaty workout. And the sweat-wicking fabric works wonders—and dries quickly, too.” —Stephanie Wu, articles director

Richer Poorer Cut Out bralette

“Everything this California-based brand makes is designed for comfort, and the Cut Out bralette is no different. There's no clasp, you just pull it on over your head, and there's no padding, so it feels much more like a cami than a traditional bra. The wide band doesn't pinch at my skin, and the adjustable straps are a big plus. It's my new favorite lounging-around-the-house bra (so it's been getting a lot of use), and I can see it being a go-to for long plane rides in the future.” —Madison Flager, commerce editor

Knix Evolution bra

“Knix's Evolution bra is the most comfortable bra I own. It's the kind of bra that, with some smart planning, can be the only bra you bring on any entire trip. It's wireless but supportive—great for plane rides. It's reversible, in black and beige, so it goes with a variety of tops. And it molds to your body over time, making it so comfortable that I sometimes forget I even have a bra on. If you prefer padding, their Wingwoman bra is fantastic, too, and their Longevity sports bra is my current favorite workout bra. It's a cropped length but doesn't bunch up at all, making it great for hiking trips .” —S.W.

Pepper All You bra

“I recently saw Instagram ads for this company Pepper, designed for people with smaller chests. I ordered the All You bra immediately and am pretty impressed. It actually does fit better than any bra I've tried and is really comfortable. It does have a wire, but I barely feel it, even when I'm sitting on the couch all day. And I can wear it under anything, even though it's just T-shirts these days.” —Mercedes Bleth, senior social media editor

Lively's The Busty Bralette

“I wear this bra under everything—dresses, jumpsuits, T-shirts, sweaters. Made specifically for sizes D-DDD, it's the most supportive bralette I’ve found, and I’ve impulse bought a lot of very comfortable, but in no way supportive, bralettes that I then only wear at home or to sleep. Lively's comes in a handful of neutral shades that are nice for wearing under any color top, and has adjustable straps, which can be hard to come by in loungewear bras. Another Lively favorite: the Skinny-Strap Seamless Bralette , which is so soft, it barely feels like you have a bra on.” —M.F

True and Co. Racerback

“A friend recommended this True and Co. pick to me as a good summer bra. It's nice for lounging around and good at preventing boob sweat, which is key during warmer months, and the straps won't dig into your shoulders at all. I like that it has removable cups, and is available in a broader range of cup sizes than most companies offer, starting at 32A and going to 42F.” —M.F.

Nike Victory sports bra

“I am a big sports bra fan in non-sporting environments. They are comfortable, reliable, and a staple of any airplane outfit. Two favorites are the Nike Indy in black, with thin straps so I can get away with wearing it under sleeveless black dresses in summer. And the Nike Victory Racer back—this one is more sturdy, built for the at-home aerobics I've turned to while the gym is shut down. I own it in hot pink, for a pop of color under my gym singlet.” —Erin Florio, travel news director

“What the Lively bra is to bralettes, Girlfriend’s Paloma bra is to crop tops. It's stretchy and fits more like a tank top than a traditional bra, with thin-ish racerback straps. Madewell Cotton-Modal Mila padded bralette

“I am living for my Madewell cotton bralette. The fabric makes it breathable, the lack of underwire makes it so comfy, and the padding keeps a flattering shape. The high neck racerback design is fun and flattering, while the criss-cross bands at the bottom add style without taking away from functionality. Brooks Dare High-Neck bra

“This is my favorite dual-purpose exercise and lounge bra. It’s so soft and is easily the most comfortable, least restrictive sports bra I own, but is still supportive enough to get me through a run. I love it for yoga , too, since the high neck covers more of your chest, meaning you won't be readjusting in downward dog. It fits more like a crop top than a standard bra, which makes me feel better about wearing it on its own, without a tank layered over.” —M.F.

Here's what the Boeing strike might mean for flyers

Boeing workers went on strike Friday, the latest disturbance in what has proven a devastating year for the American aircraft manufacturer .

But it is not clear whether the labor stoppage will have an impact for the flying public, although there are concerns about a potential effect on air travel next summer.

U.S. carriers that rely heavily on Boeing planes include Southwest, United and Alaska Airlines .

In a statement, Southwest said its operations were unlikely to be affected in the short-term by any production delays Boeing may end up suffering.

“Earlier this year, Southwest Airlines took steps to address potential delivery disruptions," the carrier said. "As a result, we currently have the fleet needed to fulfill our upcoming schedules. We remain in close communication with Boeing.”

Southwest exclusively uses Boeing 737s — planes made made in Renton, Washington, one of the sites now on strike by members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Southwest had sharply brought down its delivery target for Boeing aircraft earlier this year.

Boeing Workers Strike

A United spokesperson said the carrier was working with Boeing to understand what the impact to the airline's delivery schedule might be.

A spokesperson for Alaska Airlines did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Airlines are in charge of maintaining aircraft once they come into possession of them, and crews won't sign off on allowing a plane to fly if it is deemed not airworthy, said Henry Harteveldt, founder and president of Atmosphere Research Group, an airline industry consultancy.

"There will probably be very little direct impact on consumers as a result of the Boeing strike," Harteveldt told NBC News.

Estimates of how long the strike could last vary widely. The previous Boeing machinists strike, in 2008, lasted nearly two months; however, in a note to clients, Bank of America analyst Ronald Epstein said the latest one could prove as short as a week.

That's in part because Boeing is in an especially weak position, he noted: Its standing has been seriously hurt in the wake of the mid-air door-panel blowout in January that prompted a nationwide grounding, federal investigations, and ultimately the ouster of Boeing’s leadership. The FAA continues to have federal monitors of Boeing's production in place. The company's stock, which is a component of the blue chip Dow Jones Industrial Average , is down about 40% this year.

Newly installed CEO Kelly Ortberg already took a conciliatory tone with Boeing workers in the run-up to the strike, Epstein said.

“We see it likely Boeing would have to make further concessions and move closer to the IAM’s initial proposal,” Epstein wrote.

In a statement, Boeing acknowledged that members of the International Association of Machinists had deemed its offer "not acceptable."

“We remain committed to resetting our relationship with our employees and the union, and we are ready to get back to the table to reach a new agreement.”

Company executives have warned that the strike could “jeopardize” its recovery from recent scandals and quality problems.

A White House official said the Biden Administration is in touch with Boeing and the machinists.

"We encourage them to negotiate in good faith — toward an agreement that gives employees the benefits they deserve and makes the company stronger,” the official said.

The strike was largely expected, despite a push by union leaders to broker a last-minute deal. Rank-and-file members of the 33,000-strong workforce that constitute the striking group have said recent layoffs, a decision to shift some production to Boeing's non-union facility in South Carolina, and a push for even stronger compensation and protections had all pushed workers toward striking. Boeing had promised to build its next commercial airplane in the Seattle area under the tentative agreement.

Boeing appeared to have already made contingency plans in the run-up to the strike vote: Reuters reported on Tuesday that the company told suppliers it was delaying a key production milestone for its 737 MAX by six months.

Should the strike drag on, major carriers may not be able to meet capacity demands for next year's summer travel season, Harteveldt said.

"If this strike drags out, depending on how many aircraft can [Boeing} can deliver, airlines may find themselves with far fewer new planes by next summer's season, which is peak season — and that could definitely impact the number of flights and destinations available," he said.
