Local’s Guide to Visiting Prague: How to Spend 24 Magical Hours in Prague

  • January 28, 2022
  • 7 minute read

Is spending 24 hours in Prague enough time to truly explore all that the Czech capital has to offer? If you only have one day to experience the best of Prague, you can still get a taste of the incredible architecture, complex culture, and beautiful views….not to mention the tasty food and beer! From Prague Castle to the Charles Bridge and beyond, I’m breaking it all down with my local’s guide to visiting Prague!

A photo of the Vltava River and Prague Castle in the background as part of a local's guide to Czech Republic

I grew up visiting Prague , and it always loomed large in my life as this beautiful, post-Communism city that very few people had ever visited. Even so, every time we visited family in Czech Republic, I always thought, this city is magical . You can’t help but fall in love with the historic buildings, the endless history, the delicious food. So many people have visited Prague that it’s been voted one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Trust me: even if you only have one day in Prague, you’ll fall in love.

Mala Strana, Prague, Czech Republic

When I moved to Prague decades later, I found myself in a unique predicament: I didn’t actually know much about the city outside the tourist hotspots. When Thomas, my fiance, asked me where we should go for lunch our first time in Prague, I had no idea. But now that I’ve lived in Prague for more than two years, I can comfortably say that I am fully obsessed with Prague (even more than I was before, if that’s even possible) and I have a list of all my favorite spots in the city.

I’ve spent every free second uncovering all the most magical parts of the city, from the historic cafes to the best walking tours. Here’s my local guide to planning the perfect one-day itinerary for Prague.

What to do in Prague: A local’s guide to visiting Prague

Choosing to visit Prague is the easy part! After you pick when you want to visit the Czech Republic, whether you plan to visit Prague in winter or summer, the hard part begins: planning your first 24 hours in Prague. There’s so much to explore in Prague, it’s hard to know what’s worth visiting – and what’s worth skipping. Plus, there are so many boutique hotels to stay !

So how do you pick where to visit in Prague? Well, there are some spots you simply can’t miss (ahem, Charles Bridge). You want to make sure you’re centering your trip around some of the biggest highlights in Prague in the Old Town region. Even locals like me still visit Old Town to take in the beauty and the history and the architecture.

Morning

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, or that’s what they say, right? Head over to Karlín via tram and make your way to one of my all-time favorite spots, Eska . This bakery/restaurant is a Bib Gourmand recipient (recognized by the Michelin Guide) and, in my opinion, has the BEST kolache in town. The moravský-style kolache is my personal favorite: it’s filled with jam and famer’s cheese, or tvaroh, and it’s to die for. They also have a whole variety of other Czech pastries.

prague local tour

The buchty at Eska are to die for!

If you’re looking for something more substantial, walk down the street to Etapa . This restaurant/bakery serves up flavorful and unique breakfast, lunch, and dinner options with a limited menu. They also have a variety of tasty treats and a lovely seating area.

Now that you’re all full, it’s time to start a full day of sightseeing. First up: Old Town Square.

Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí)

Old Town Square may be one of the most touristy spots in town, but it’s totally worth the visit for a quick walk through. This 12th century square is home to Old Town Hall, the Church of Our Lady before Týn, the Baroque Church of St Nicholas, the Rococo Kinský Palace, the Gothic House at the Stone Bell and the monument to Jan Hus. You can go up the stairs to the top of Old Town Hall, which gives you a beautiful view of the square.

Follow the pedestrian pathway down towards the river (down Karlova road, which takes you all the way to the bridge).

Klementinum

Before making it to the bridge, stop at the Klementinum . I never see anyone recommending the Klementinum, but it is an absolute MUST visit! For shorter trip, stop inside and buy a guided tour of the Baroque Library and tower. A guided tour is the only way to visit the library, which was established in 1722, is home to 20,000 volumes of mostly foreign theological literature. There are few places as magical as this library, and the view at the top of the tower afterwards looks over both Old Town Square and the Charles Bridge. It’s my favorite view in Prague!

prague local tour

The view from the Klementinum is AMAZING!

Charles Bridge

Once you’re done with your tour, head down the street to Charles Bridge. Charles Bridge , perhaps the most well-known site in Prague, is still worth a visit – even with the crowds. This gothic bridge leads to Malá Strana, or “Lesser Town.” When you cross the bridge, you can climb up to the top of the tower at Charles Bridge, and it’s so worth it!

Charles Bridge in Prague, Czech Republic

Insider tip: The bridge is going to be super crowded! The only way to avoid those crowds? A sunrise walk. But if you step off the main road and take a left, heading to Restaurant Mlýnec, you’ll find a nice lookout spot to get the perfect view of the bridge and Prague Castle).

Lunch

Lunch is THE meal for Czechs. Many traditional restaurants have a limited menu with food they have made just for that day. Once it runs out, it runs out. This is more true nowadays outside Prague, though.

For lunch, walk across the bridge and through Malá Strana. You’re walking up towards Prague Castle (the signage is excellent) and heading towards Kuchyň , one of my favorite Czech restaurants in Prague. It’s located in the National Gallery in Prague, and the views of the terrace make the visit alone worth it.

But even with this swanky view, this restaurant is not a tourist trap. Kuchyň – which literally translates to kitchen in Czech – uses local, high quality ingredients to create classic Czech dishes. You’re going to be blown away!

View from Prague's Charles Bridge

Prague Castle

Once you’re finished with lunch, walk over to the Prague Castle ( Pražský hrad ). The Prague Castle is enormous, and you will not cover it all in one afternoon. In fact, it’s been in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest ancient castle in the world . So what do you visit when you go? These are my highlights:

  • The Old Royal Palace (Starý Královský Palác)
  • The Czech Republic’s largest Christian building, the Roman Catholic St. Vitus Cathedral (Katedrala St. Vita)
  • Golden Lane (Zlatá ulicka)

Take a nearby bus or tram to Petřín , one of Prague’s best lookout points. If you want the more traditional experience, you can walk about 20 minutes to the cable car, which makes for a truly unique experience (make sure it’s in operation that day).

What is there to do in Petřín ? Stroll around the park, take in the view…there’s even a mirror maze, and a memorial to victims of communism. At the end, take a second to stop and enjoy the Beer garden Petřín . It’s truly one of the most scenic places to enjoy a drink and relax after a long and busy day.

Dinner

I have so many favorite dinner spots in Prague that it’s hard to pick just one perfect place for dinner. At the bottom of the hill lies Cafe Savoy , a beautiful spot with traditional Czech food and tasty treats. It’s a lovely spot for dinner, and it’s across the bridge from the National Theatre, which looks so pretty when it’s lit up at night.

If you’re looking for something a little unique, why not try out Kro Kitchen in Vinohrady? This modern restaurant in one of Prague’s most trendiest neighborhoods is probably one of my go-to lunch and dinner spots, even if it is a little out of the way. Their signature roast chicken and tasty sides are so flavorful and unique.

A local’s guide to visiting Prague: Where to stay

Prague is a sprawling mid-sized city, and it can be tricky to know where to stay in the city. If you only have one or two nights, I’d recommend staying in a central location to take advantage of the nearby sights. Consider these neighborhoods:

  • Vinohrady

A local’s guide to visiting Prague: How to maximize your one-day trip

  • Use public transit! The metro in Prague comes every two minutes, and it’s super fast. The tram and bus are also reliable. Above all else, public transit is cheap and covers a lot of the city.
  • Skip the Trdelník : this “traditional Czech” goodie really isn’t Czech… unless you count all the street vendors selling it for an insanely expensive price. It can be delicious, but not worth the cost to me.
  • Beware of scams : There are so many known scams in big cities, and Prague is no exception. Beware when exchanging money, or taking taxis, or paying your bill.
  • Avoid eating in super touristy places : Some restaurants in touristy destinations can be worth the visit, but some are not – and will charge insane prices. It’s nothing new, but beware of where you eat.
  • Tipping : Most Czechs do not tip, and it’s not expected that you tip, either. If anything, you would round up your bill to the closest whole number (for example: 375 to 380 or 390).

Great foodie tour of Prague!

"Tomas is an excellent guide. He had a variety of items for us to try that gave us a great understanding of Czech foods and drink. In addition, he showed us interesting places in the city, including architecture, sculpture, and views. He answered our tons of questions and also gave us more understanding of Czech culture and history. This was a great foodie tour. "

"We have a 3 hour tour with him and it was the best choice we've made! He's born and raised in Prague and his love for the city shows. Enjoy the Best of the Prague Like a Local

Our tips for prague.

Prague has a romantic fairytale atmosphere. You’re walking streets in the footsteps of great writers like Kafka and Kundera, and musicians like Dvorak. You’ll feel it while walking across the Charles Bridge and staring at the beautiful Vltava River, wandering the winding lanes of the old town, or climbing Petřín Hill.

Two ladies drinking coffee

Enjoy a Home Dinner with a Local

Traditionally Czech’s enjoy a lot of meat in their cuisine, and along with it rich gravy and knedlíky (dumplings). While it may not be the healthiest food in the world — it sure goes great with Czech beer. One of the most authentic things to do in Prague is to experience a home cooked meal, prepared as only locals know how.

Visit your host’s home, lean a little about Czech culture and customs, and get some great recipes you can take away with you (along with a full stomach). Hosts offer a range of dishes and will tailor menus to suit your taste buds.

Visit Prague Castle

Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world according to the Guinness World Records — covering an area of almost 70,000 m² — it’s also one of the most picturesque, looming over the left bank of the Vltava, like a fairytale fortress. All it needs is a princess!

A fantastic way to visit and get the history behind the place is to take a Prague Castle Tour with a local guide. They can cut to the chase and take you to the real highlights that only locals would know. Visiting Prague Castle is one on the top things to do in Prague for all visitors!

Tram in the streets of Prague

A Night at the National Theatre

The National Theatre in Prague’s been around for 130 years and is made up of four companies — Opera, Drama, Ballet and Laterna magika (experimental but entertaining thingys)! Czech works get the focus, but there are also familiar shows like A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Swan Lake on offer each year.

Take a cultural tour of Prague run by locals and they’ll show you where all the main (and hidden) cultural ports of call are, and also provide you with any need-to-know info (like yes, the National Theatre’s programs are all performed in Czech, but you do get subtitled screens to follow along in English). Useful to know.

River bank with old houses

Take a Walk Along Golden Lane

Franz Kafka lived in #22 from 1916-17 when he came here to write in peace. You can certainly see how he might be inspired in this beautiful row of very small houses, part of the Prague Castle complex. The houses date back to the 15th century, and their diminutive size reflects the lack of available space to build for the original inhabitants.

Named after the legend of alchemists who lived in the street and sought to make gold (almost certainly stayed just a nice story), Golden Lane is one of the top ten things to do in Prague and worth visiting for the beautiful, old world feel of the houses which line on the sides.

Take in a Great Film at Bio Oko

Old fashioned, small movie theatres are so rare now that they’re worth celebrating when you find one. Bio Oko has a history which dates back to 1940. Seeing a film here’s a fantastic alternative to a multiplex, and Bio Oko plays a mixture of mainstream and alternative movies, so there’s sure to be something to suit your taste.

When you take a city tour by a local, ask them to point it out to you. It’s located close to Letná Park and you’ll also find it has a great bar that’s a meeting place for local (and foreign) hipsters — providing a real Bohemian vibe all round!

Table from top with food snacks

Enjoy Coffee at a Bitcoin Café

The concept of Parallel Polis is very simple (but aren’t all great things?) It’s an arty, relaxed café that only takes Bitcoin as payment. Staff intermingle, chat and drink with patrons. There’s no obvious counter. Someone will greet you. It’s an anarchistic, techno space that intermingles coffee with technology experiments. There’s 3D printing going on and exhibits like a computer hooked up to the internet as the Chinese experience it (complete with censorship).

Taking a cultural tour of city highlights is a great way to find the quirkier cafés and places only locals know about. Also they won’t let you forget to stock up on Bitcoin first! There’s nothing more surprising than being told: “Sorry we don’t accept cash.”

Take a Czech Cooking Class

Really understanding a culture comes from getting to know a little bit about the cuisine — and what better way to learn than by taking a cooking class run by locals or a personalized Prague food tour? You’ll find there are many different options available — from traditional Czech cuisine to raw food.

You’ll learn new skills (remember there’s a real knack to some techniques used in different countries), get a number of new recipes to take home and feel a real sense of accomplishment. A cooking class where you learn to make something distinctly Czech like guláš or knedlíky is one of the really different things to do in Prague that you’ll be able to tell your friends and family about — and show off the skills you learned!

Off the Beaten Track Prague Walking Tour

A walking tour in Prague is one of the best things to do to experience the heart and soul of the city. Walking tours run by locals can be tailored to your requirements and let you get away from the traditional tourist areas. The Old Town is lovely, but what if you want to visit the non-tourist neighborhoods and discover street art and alternative culture in an easy and safe way? An Off the Beaten Track Tour is the way to go.

Learn about how life and culture changed after the fall of communism, and how its legacy affects the art and the people of modern Prague.

A market stall with a man selling glass pots of honey

Visit the Biggest Flea Market in Europe!

Every Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Prague 9 there’s Kolbenova — covering over 50 000 square meters! You will find pretty much anything you might be looking for here — curiosities, second-hand and new goods – for some of the lowest prices anywhere! Clothes! Books! Antiques! Or some used furniture for your apartment. You’ll find unique offerings too — like actual artifacts from the communist era.

Because of the expansiveness of the market, it can be a good idea to take a local guide along who can point you to the best stalls and also speak Czech for you. Many sellers speak English, but it’s never guaranteed and your local host will probably even be able to get you more of a bargain.

Jewish History Private Tour

The Jewish presence in Prague dates back over 1000 years, and its rich cultural influence would fill a large history book. Luckily you don’t have to read such a hefty volume as your local private tour girl will be able to show you and sum up all the highlights!

You see the seven hundred year old Old–New Synagogue where writer Franz Kafka attended services, and the Jewish Museum which displays a memorial to the Jewish victims of the holocaust and you’ll also visit the famous Old Jewish Cemetery.

The benefit of local private tours in Prague is that you’ll see more than just the obvious; in this case you’ll also get to see the Jewish influence on other areas of Prague.

Top things to do in Prague

This post contains our top 10 list of things to do in Prague, as well as the best things to do for free, with your family, and at night.

As local tour guides, we lead thousands of people each week through the streets of Prague.

Others tell us what they like and don’t like about activities, attractions, and accommodations around the city.

We decided to use our expertise and experiences to help craft this list of things to do in Prague.

We also used the comments and suggestions from the roughly 35k members of our popular Prague Travel Tips Facebook group.

TOP 10 MUST-DO ACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS

Having difficulties narrowing down just what to do out of all the great options and the best place to do them?

Let us help you out with our top 10 things to do in Prague (Praha), including tours, attractions, and dining suggestions.

1. Go on a Sightseeing Tour

Letting a knowledgeable local show you around and tell you all about their city is one of the best ways to discover a new place.

As our name suggests, we are really big on free walking tours .

You'll find a wide variety of interesting and historic attractions all over the city, and most tours include highlights such as these:

  • National Theatre
  • Dancing House
  • Astronomical Clock
  • Strahov Monastery
  • Prague's Old Town Square
  • Jewish Quarter
  • Charles Bridge
  • Prague Castle

There are numerous  hop-on-hop-off bus tours  of Prague to choose from as well as a cruise down the Vltava River .

2. Walk Across Charles Bridge

The oldest bridge in Prague is still a popular way for pedestrians to cross the Vltava River. Construction began in 1357 under the orders of King Charles IV.

Its wide path is made out of sandstone and today is constantly full of street performers, tourists, and a few locals.

Charles Bridge

Not many visitors know that it is possible to climb the towers built on either end of the bridge for the equivalent of a few Euros.

The bridge is also lined with Baroque statues of saints and martyrs - although today they are copies of the originals, which were taken down for preservation.

Although some changes have been made over the years, the architecture of this bridge remains almost fully intact.

The Charles Bridge connects Malá Strana (Lesser Town) with Stare Mesto (Prague's Old Town).

For fewer crowds and a great view of the city lit up at night, we suggest visiting after dark. Or, go with a free guided tour .

3. Explore Old Town and the Astronomical Clock

The Astronomical Clock is one of the main features of Old Town Square in Prague's city center. This attraction is actually located within the Old Town Hall, another historic location in this area.

It was first constructed in the 15th century and has been restored a few times after damage. It has multiple beautiful golden accents and moving parts.

The most interesting part of the clock is that every hour, on hour, there is a short parade of 12 Apostle figurines that circle the clock while it chimes.

It's one of 20 notable sights in Old Town Prague .

4. Prague Castle

This Castle complex has been around since the 9th century and is currently where the President of the Czech Republic keeps his office hours.

Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site, this is actually the largest castle complex in the world, and it is visited by crowds from all over the globe.

From Prague Castle, you can see amazing views of the city since it is strategically situated on one of Prague’s hills.

The main castle grounds are always free to wander, and there are free tours of these grounds. Whether you're coming to see the historic architecture or you want to take a closer look, there's plenty to see and do here.

The complex remains open until 22:00 year-round. Check out our free, self-guided tour of the grounds.

If you happen to be near the guardhouse at the top of the hour, you can also watch the Changing of the Guard.

One of the most notable attractions on the castle grounds is St. Vitus Cathedral. On the interior, you'll find an incredible Art Nouveau window that depicts important saints.

The long hours make this a perfect evening activity if you’re busy seeing the sights in other neighborhoods during the day.

For more things to do at night , check out the section below.

5. Quirky Art

There are quirky statues and art installations all over the city. How many can you find?

Near the Kampa museum, you can find some giant bronze babies.

A cloaked man sits hunched over near Estates Theatre.

prague local tour

And by the Spanish Synagogue stands an odd headless man carrying a smaller person on his shoulders.

9. Czech Food Scene

Czech cuisine is hearty and perfect comfort food. For an authentic experience, we suggest walking outside of Old Town and the restaurants that cater to the crowds of tourists.

Prague Tour Guide - Muriel P.

Hi, I'm Jana. I focus on tailor made and culturally oriented tours. I offer private tours not only in Prague, but also in the most interesting Czech and Moravian "tourist" sights (and some galleries). I arrange transport services as well, if needed.

Prague Tour Guide - Ondra N.

Hello! I finished my studies in Prague, used to sell educational products in Colorado, walked doggies in Brooklyn and then somehow, I got into tourism and plan to stay :) Me and my team of expert guides, we have years of experience in Prague city tourism, we operate different types of walking tours, e-scooters and segways. Our 4 main pillars are: local guides, long experience, private groups & more personal approach, perfect location right in the heart of the main historical part of Prague. Our #1 goal is a satisfied customer. On our tours, we like to cover main sights, but also off-the-beaten-path. We were never fans of "umbrella tours" approach and we know we have a much better experience to offer. Please go through my tours, we are flexible and able to adjust everything. We look forward to meet you and show you the best of Prague! Ondra

Prague Tour Guide - Polina K.

Hello, It is nice to e-meet you here, my name is Polina and I am a professional tour guide and concierge with more than 10 years experience in customer service. They say that the most valuable thing that we bring back from travels is our memories. You might forget the dates, names and cafeteries you spent your time in, but you will always remember the kind gesture of the waiter who was serving your morning coffee or a smiley lady at the local market who admired the way you tried to greet her in her mother language. Sweet memories of people who surrounded us during our trip create the experience we will be sharing with our beloved ones back home. And that's why it is so important to find the right guide for your journey. I often hear the feedback from my guests: “It is obvious that you are in love with your job”. And they are absolutely right. I am an energetic, funny, vibrant guide who does not switch on “the boredom mode” and tries to do her best to make it special for every single guest of hers. If you are looking for someone who will make your trip special and memorable, don't hesitate to contact me. I would be happy to scroll with you around magical Prague. With warmest regards, Your guide, Polina

Prague Tour Guide - Petr M.

My name is Petr and I am a native Praguer. I have spent in this beuatiful city my entire life. I have studied at Charles University, the program Social Studies (history, psychology, sociology and political science). Already during my studies I began working as a tourguide and just fell in love with this job that much, that I am doing it till present days. I also have some military experience and well oriented in religious and political problemacy - not only regarding Czechia and Czech history. My main focuses as of a tourguide are: political, miltary and religious (aspects of) history and present days. Besides I strictly get sticked to the facts (since being a Czech ;-) I always accompany ny tours with a traditional Czech humour, stating some funny facts, telling some cool Czech jokes etc. I rather prefer in informal style of guiding - considering and treating travelers more like friends than just "clinets/customers". I am open-minded , positive, humorous, but dedicated to the facts at the same time. My asset and competition edge is providing travelers with some little/leeser known facts which they won´t find in bedekers. I am looking forward to meet you in Prague! ;-)

“ Great tour modified by Miriam to cater to our desires. ”

Miriam used the Library & Hidden Neighborhood tour as a basis for a very personal experience. Communication with her eliminated going to spots we had been to in the days prior on other tours. Miriam became sick and arranged for Alzbeta to do our tour on a day's notice. She was one of the few licensed people that can get access into the restricted areas of Strahov library. Alzbeta was the most knowledgeable guide I've encountered in many years. She was also very personable, and we truly enjoyed the time spent. Some guides tend to recite a presentation, but Alzbeta shared stories with plenty of interaction. Highly recommend working with Miriam for a tour and visiting the inside of the Strahov library.

Unveiling prague’s hidden gems.

The true essence of Prague lies in its hidden corners and lesser-known spots. These are the places where the city’s heartbeat is most authentic. Small, family-run shops tucked away in narrow streets offer unique, handcrafted items, each with a story. Hidden courtyards reveal serene gardens and ancient wells, far from the tourist throngs.

Cozy cafes, where time seems to slow down, serve as gateways to understanding the local way of life. These hidden gems are not just places but experiences – intimate concerts in old chapels, impromptu art exhibitions in forgotten alleys, and quaint bookshops that beckon with their timeless charm. They are the keys to unlocking the real Prague, a city that keeps its most precious treasures just out of the main sight, waiting for the curious traveler to discover them.

Prague Guide PDF

A stroll through history.

The history of Prague is a compelling narrative of triumph and transformation. As you wander through the cobbled lanes of the Old Town, you’re not just walking on streets; you’re traversing the chapters of a vivid historical book. The Prague Castle stands as a testament to the city’s resilience, its walls echoing stories of kings and emperors.

The Jewish Quarter, with its poignant history and preserved synagogues, offers a reflective journey into a crucial part of Prague’s past. The city’s architecture is a visual history lesson – Gothic churches stand proudly beside Baroque buildings, while Art Nouveau facades add a touch of elegance. Every historical site in Prague, from the majestic to the humble, is a piece of a jigsaw puzzle that, when put together, depicts the rich, tumultuous, and triumphant history of this enduring city.

Prague ÚAN Florenc Bus Station: Your Gateway to Exploring the Czech Republic

Prague ÚAN Florenc Bus Station

In Prague, the culinary landscape is as diverse and rich as its history, offering a gastronomic journey that mirrors the city’s cultural tapestry. This vibrant capital is a haven for food lovers, where traditional Czech cuisine meets modern culinary innovation. Imagine wandering through Prague’s cobblestone streets, each turn offering a new taste adventure—from hearty, comforting dishes in centuries-old taverns to the refined flavours of contemporary Czech cuisine in sleek, minimalist restaurants.

The heart of Czech culinary tradition lies in its robust, flavour-packed dishes. Staples like svíčková na smetaně (marinated beef sirloin in cream sauce) and vepřo-knedlo-zelo (roast pork with dumplings and sauerkraut) are more than just meals; they’re a dive into the country’s heritage, each bite a story of resilience and celebration. But Prague’s food scene is not just about looking back. It’s a dynamic, ever-evolving canvas where innovative chefs reinterpret these classics, infusing them with global flavours and modern techniques, creating dishes that are both familiar and thrillingly new.

Beyond the main courses, Prague is a city of bakeries and cafes, where the scent of fresh pastries fills the air. Traditional treats like trdelník, a sweet pastry coated with sugar and nuts, and chlebíčky, small open-faced sandwiches, offer a taste of the Czech Republic’s sweet and savoury sides. These are the flavours of Prague’s streets, simple pleasures that connect the past with the present.

But what truly makes Prague a culinary destination is its embrace of international cuisine. From authentic Italian pizzerias hidden in narrow alleys to trendy Asian fusion restaurants overlooking the Vltava River, Prague’s food scene is a testament to its cosmopolitan spirit. Here, food is not just sustenance; it’s a conversation between cultures, a way to explore the world without leaving the city.

This exploration extends to Prague’s vibrant market scenes and food festivals, where local producers and chefs showcase the best of Czech and international gastronomy. Seasonal markets burst with fresh produce, artisanal cheeses, and craft beers, offering a glimpse into the country’s rich agricultural bounty and brewing traditions. Food festivals, meanwhile, are celebrations of creativity and community, where tasting menus and street food stalls provide a culinary carnival for the senses.

In Prague, every meal is an opportunity to explore, to taste the richness of history and the excitement of the new. It’s a city where every dish tells a story, inviting you to sit at the table and discover the flavours that make Prague truly unforgettable. This narrative is not just about food; it’s about the experience of Prague itself—a city that feeds not just the body but the soul.

Prague Local Experience

Petra & Michal

prague local tour

It wouldn’t be Prague without the sight of a tram dashing in front of historical monuments.

It didn’t surprise any local that Prague public transportation was recently rated as the 2nd best in the world. Let’s take advantage of it while exploring this beautiful city! And it’s not just convenient, it’s pretty spectacular too!

In this tour, we squeezed the most out of Prague’s waste tram line network to prepare a schedule of interlinked tram rides which allow us to cover a much greater distance and also reach outside the city centre, which would be otherwise impossible in generic walking tours.

Worry not about taking the wrong number and getting lost. We’ll guide you through the whole experience and provide a basic orientation in the fundamentals of public transportation. You won’t need an Uber or taxi for the rest of your stay in Prague.

During the 2 hour tour, we’ll hop in and out on multiple tram lines and sometimes go for short walks to properly explore various sites and take beautiful photos.
