Official Traveller Products

Since the start of 2021, 2nd Dynasty has had an official license to produce 3D printable objects from the venerable Traveller Role Playing Game universe. Over the coming years, we will be releasing classic Traveller starships in glorious, highly detailed 28mm (1:60) scale, tactical ship miniatures for ship to ship combat, and crew scale miniatures based on iconic Traveller designs to the 3D printable market.

More Traveller

We have been working in close partnership with Marc Miller himself of Far Future Enterprises to ensure that we can act as reverent custodians of the Traveller license. It should be noted that we only have the license to produce 3D-printable ships and miniatures in STL format, and that this has no impact on T5 or Mongoose Traveller at all. Design wise, T5 or Classic Traveller are what we have to work with.

• Megatraveller 1: The Zhodani Conspiracy (1990) for Amiga , Atari ST and MS-DOS operating environments. External Link: MT Zho Conspiracy

• In March 2011 IngZ Inc announced the upcoming release of "Traveller AR" in Summer 2011. Traveller AR is an iPhone based port of the Traveller RPG brand. The "Traveller AR" software was unfortunately abandoned at a later date after protracted development. "

Novels [ edit ]

Several novels have been specifically set in the various Traveller universes:

• In addition, Jefferson Swycaffer has written several novels set in the "Concordat" fictional universe he originally developed for his Traveller campaign.
• Gregory P. Lee's "The Laughing Lip" series acknowledges the influence of Traveller in the development of the three novels published to date. Mr. Lee also wrote the Gamelords ' supplement "Lee's Guide to Interstellar Adventure" in the early 1980s.

Music [ edit ]

Heavy metal band Slough Feg issued a Traveller-based concept album, appropriately titled Traveller in 2003.

Periodicals [ edit ]

Gaming magazine White Dwarf ran a comic strip called The Travellers by Mark Harrison from 1983 to 1986. The strip spoofed Traveller and other space opera settings.

Television (Live Action) [ edit ]

In May 2014 game designer and film producer Ken Whitman announced that his company, D20 Entertainment, had procured a license from Marc Miller to produce a Traveller television pilot. The pilot is to be titled Spinward Traveller and will follow the adventures of Jon Spinward, who is pressed into service aboard a pirate ship.

On June 1, 2014, Whitman launched a Kickstarter campaign for the film. The campaign is seeking $30,000 to produce a 22-minute pilot but has stretch goals for up to a 96-minute film. The campaign received over $5,000 on its first day.

The project was never brought to completion.

I backed it! I'd really like them to narrate Behind the Claw or The Third Imperium . The samples of the audio are excellent and having some of Traveller Lore as something to listen to while driving or walking would be a treat.

So the results of this Kickstarter have been sent out to people and unfortunately it's unusable. While there is the readings the entirety of the audio files also contain a continuous 4 beat popping clicking noise that repeats endlessly. Multiple people have reported this on multiple devices, it's in the actual MP3 files. It makes it impossible to listen to them. Unfortunately AudioRPG have not responded to any of the reports of the issues to date. Very disappointing at this point. They're responding to their other Kickstarter that they ran at the same time, but not the Traveller one.

Sorry to hear this, will chase up with them.  

Yep, can confirm the clicks make the files unusable. Also, when you're in touch with them please ask them about splitting the files up. The Glorious Empire file is one 902MB mp3 which runs for 8 hours, 12 minutes. This would be much more useful split into separate files by chapter and I can't believe that this didn't occur to them.  

I think it's only fair to update the thread and say that new files (without the clicks) have been uploaded, which is great. Still would be good to have these split by chapter though, an 8 hour mp3 is more than a bit tricky to pick up where you left off, or listen to a specific section again.

I got the m4b formatted files because m4b is targeted at audiobooks and supports chapters and bookmarks. But, no chapters have been marked, and bookmarking doesn't seem to work.

Traveller Mercenary Kickstarter begins February 5th. From the official announcement: Welcome, fellow Travellers - we have a cracking item for you today! At 10am (GMT) on Friday 5th February (in one week!), we are launching a brand new Kickstarter for Traveller - the Mercenary box set and (hopefully!) a whole string of supplements and adventures to support it. Whether you are looking to build a mercenary unit straight from Traveller creation, add one to an existing group of Travellers, or simply want to add a touch of the military to your adventures, this is the box set for you. The Mercenary box set is a new way of approaching Traveller campaigns, giving everything you need for Travellers to recruit or train their own mercenary unit, hunt down clients , and then travel across the stars to engage in tickets (contracts) to earn fame and a great deal of fortune! That, at least, will be the plan your Travellers have... Along the way, this Kickstarter will introduce you to new equipment designed for mercenary use in the field, specialist units (such as cyber warfare, artillery, commandos, and aerospace, to name a few), the implementation of tactics, squad-, platoon-, company- and regimental-level combat abstracted to retain roleplaying and storytelling elements, new spacecraft and vehicles for the richest units, and... so much more. This is just a taste, and you will be able to download the first tome included in the box set, Book 1: Mercenaries in the Far Future, for free on Friday so you can see just how we are approaching this new style of campaign. Written by fan-favourite Martin Dougherty, Mercenary goes into a staggering amount of depth on mercenary operations of the Far Future, and yet keeps the rules and book-keeping light and breezy. Y'know - after playing quite a bit of Cyberpunk 2077, the timing of this campaign is going to be perfect! I look forward to starting a far future mercs campaign - which is actually a style of play I've never run before.

A while ago I posted about wanting to write a book about humanities space culture. Kim Bookbinder an excellent artist was my inspieration and she has a Kickstarter for her space theamed Album "Sky is Calling" (I so want to steal that title) This isnt just a person doing a fun pop album she has actual space experts and astroununts advicing her. Some might even play a song or two with her.
