ZAKK SABBATH , the BLACK SABBATH tribute band featuring guitarist/vocalist Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE),bassist Robert "Blasko" Nicholson (OZZY OSBOURNE, ROB ZOMBIE) and drummer Joey Castillo (DANZIG, QUEEN OF THE STONE AGE),will embark on the "Tour Forever / Forever Tour" in December. Support on the trek, which will launch on December 5 in Sacramento, California and end on January 20, 2024 in Los Angeles, California, will come from THE NATIVE HOWL .

A special BLABBERMOUTH.NET presale will begin on Wednesday, October 4 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) local and end on Thursday, October 5 at 10:00 p.m. local time. ZAKK SABBATH has been playing sporadic shows since 2014 with its take on the Birmingham four's early songs.

Zakk told Rolling Stone about performing SABBATH 's classic material: "Going back to high-school keg parties, we'd be playing songs by RUSH , SABBATH , [ Jimi ] Hendrix , whatever [in a cover band], and one person would sing the RUSH stuff, someone could do THE DOORS , and I'd end up doing the SABBATH or Ozzy stuff. It's hilarious to me, because we were 17 years old playing keg parties at a friend's house and now I'm [56] years old and I'm still playing 'N.I.B.' and SABBATH songs at keg parties, except there's a couple more people."

In September 2020, ZAKK SABBATH released its spectacular tribute to the Birmingham four, a faithful yet supercharged rendition of BLACK SABBATH 's first album, via Magnetic Eye Records .

Exactly 50 years later after the release of the original album, ZAKK SABBATH celebrated the first chapter in the SABBATH catalog with a reverently rendered tribute, simply titled "Vertigo" . Faithfully recorded in the spirit of the original, live in the studio and with a film crew documenting the process, the session culminated in a new version of a landmark album that celebrates the greatest heavy metal band of all time and the record that started it all.

"We recorded a live EP and were wondering what we could do next as a cover band, so the 50th album anniversary came just at the right time", explained Blasko regarding ZAKK SABBATH 's decision to go studio. "Compared to 'Paranoid' , which is almost like a best-of record, the bulk of the material on 'Black Sabbath' is deep-cut, really experimental stuff that was never thoroughly explored, so that was a challenge, not to forget that we wanted to meet our own high standards."

Describing the DIY process as "very productive," the three respectfully added their own flair to make for a slightly different flavor, also revisiting various live renditions and "extending a solo here or slowing things down because that's what they tended to do on stage."

Zakk sabbath announces 2023 and 2024 tour dates.

Zakk Sabbath, the group formed by the guitarist Zakk Wylde alongside the bassist Robert “Blasko” Nicholson ( Ozzy , Rob Zombie) and drummer Joey Castillo (Danzig, QOTSA) to perform Black Sabbath songs announced new 2023 and 2024 tour dates. They have been playing sporadic shows since 2014. The band The Native Howl will be their opening act.

Back in 2020 the trio released an EP called “Vertigo”, which recreated the groundbreaking Black Sabbath self-titled debut album released in 1970. Zakk Wylde first joined Ozzy’s band in 1987 and stayed until 1992, being part of session work in 1995. He came back to tour in 1998 and then from 2001 to 2009. Since 2017 he reunited with Ozzy, who is not being able to tour now due to his health.

Rob “Blasko” Nicholson is Ozzy’s bassist since 2003, being the one who replaced Rob Trujillo after he left to join Metallica.za

ZAKK SABBATH announce winter North American tour

Because Zakk Wylde apparently isn't busy enough holding down Dimebag Darrell's spot in the current lineup of Pantera, the hirsute guitar hero has lined up live dates with his Black Sabbath tribute band, Zakk Sabbath. The all-star covers group is rounded out by bassist Robert "Blasko" Nicholson (Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie) and drummer Joey Castillo (Danzig, Queens of the Stone Age), and the trio has announced the Tour Forever / Forever Tour for late 2023 and early 2024.

The Native Howl will play in support on the trek, which is set to kick off on December 5th in Sacramento, California and end on January 20th in Los Angeles, California.

Zakk Sabbath sets 2023-24 North American tour

Zakk Sabbath, the Black Sabbath tribute band led by guitarist/vocalist Zakk Wylde, will hit the road for a North American tour starting in December 2023.

Titled “Tour Forever/Forever Tour” and featuring special guest The Native Howl, the run will kick off Dec. 5 in Sacramento, California, and will travel across the country and back, ending Jan. 20 in Los Angeles, California.

In addition to Wylde, Zakk Sabbath features bassist Rob “Blasko” Nicholson (Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie) and drummer Joey Castillo (Danzig, Queens of the Stone Age). Founded in 2014, the band has released the three-song “Live in Detroit” and “Vertigo,” a studio recording of Black Sabbath’s debut, self-titled album.

Zakk Sabbath to Embark on North American Trek 

Zakk Sabbath is heading out on a tour across North America this coming winter.

The Zakk Wylde-led Black Sabbath cover band will embark on the “Tour Forever / Forever Tour” later this year, kicking things off on December 5 in Sacramento. They’ll stop at venues like Spokane’s Knitting Factory, the Midway Music Hall in Edmonton, Calgary’s Palace Theatre, the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, and San Antonio’s Aztec Theatre, hitting cities along the way like Chicago, Baltimore, Atlanta and Dallas. The run will wrap-up at Los Angeles’ Belasco on January 20.

Throughout the outing, The Native Howl will provide support.

Zakk Sabbath — rounded-out by Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Zombie bassist Robert “Blasko” Nicholson and drummer Joey Castillo of Danzig and Queens of the Stone Age — has been touring since 2014. Wylde, who has performed for a number of years alongside Osbourne, just joined the reunited Pantera as a touring lead guitarist as a fill-in for their original guitarist and Wylde’s friend Dimebag Darrell.

The “ Tour Forever / Forever Tour ” tour kicks off on December 5th in Sacramento, California, and extends into the new year, concluding on January 20th in Los Angeles. The Native Howl will be the opening act for this tour. 

The upcoming concerts will be Zakk Sabbath ‘s first since 2020. The band, which includes Wylde, bassist Robert “Blasko” Nicholson (Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie), and drummer Joey Castillo (Danzig, Queens of the Stone Age), formed in 2014 and has only performed irregularly since. They mainly cover early Black Sabbath songs, many of which Wylde has previously played as Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist.

Zakk Sabbath also released two EPs, “ Vertigo ” and “ Volume 4 (Redux) ” in 2020. They are also not touring since that date. 

Wylde’s thoughts on recording albums these days:

“We recorded a live EP and were wondering what we could do next as a cover band, so the 50th album anniversary came just at the right time”, explained Blasko regarding Zakk Sabbath’s decision to go studio.

Compared to ‘Paranoid’, which is almost like a best-of record, the bulk of the material on ‘Black Sabbath’ is deep-cut, really experimental stuff that was never thoroughly explored, so that was a challenge, not to forget that we wanted to meet our own high standards.”

Zakk Wylde also talked about their performing and albums: 

“Going back to high-school keg parties, we’d be playing songs by Rush, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, whatever, and one person would sing the Rush stuff, someone could do The Doors, and I’d end up doing the Black Sabbath or Ozzy Osbourne tuff.

It’s hilarious to me, because we were 17 years old playing keg parties at a friend’s house and now I’m 56 years old and I’m still playing ‘N.I.B.’ and Black Sabbath songs at keg parties, except there’s a couple more people.”
