Intex Excursion 5 Review

The phrase “inflatable boat” often brings to mind something flimsy, but the Intex Excursion 5 is much more than that. Intex has designed this boat to be easy to inflate and store, and they’ve added plenty of features to add to the boat’s functionality, comfort, and fun.

Intex understands fun and water. They have over forty years of history — starting with beach balls, and then pools, spas, pool toys, and inflatable boats. They’re committed to creating products that are fun and super affordable.

Additionally, Intex has an intense focus on sustainability and safety. They’ve worked for ten years to lower the carbon-footprint of their products, and are active on a wide variety of committees to set the safety standards within the industry.

Intex puts their safety standards to practice, routinely testing their products to make sure they live up the high standards set for them. Their history in the market and commitment to safety and quality makes the Excursion 5 a solid choice for anyone looking to have some fun on the water. The Intex Excursion 5 is also US Coast Guard Approved.

In this Intex Excursion 5 review, we’ll discuss the boat’s best features, the specs, the pros and cons, warranty coverage, what’s included, and more.

In a Hurry? Here’s a Quick Summary…

Intex excursion 5 review: boat overview.

Intex Excursion 5 Boat

The Excursion 5 has three air chambers, including an auxiliary chamber in the hull to make sure that one puncture isn’t going to sink the boat.

If you like options, the Intex Excursion 5 comes with oar locks and fittings to mount a trolling motor.

A lot of the little things about the Excursion 5 reveal the effort Intex put into making the boat both comfortable and easy to use. This is clear to see by looking at the specifications, features, and included accessories.

Top Features

Intex Excursion 5

  • Two Inflatable Seats with backrests and cushions
  • Four built-in Fishing Rod Holders
  • All-around Grab-line for easy carrying
  • Grab Handle on the bow
  • The Inflatable Floor, adding to the comfort and rigidity of the boat
  • Motor Mount Fitting
  • Oar Locks and Oar Holders that are fixed onto the boat
  • Boston Valves on the two main chambers to speed up the inflating and deflating processes

Who is the Excursion 5 Best For?

Anyone looking for a fun, easy-going time on the water will enjoy the Excursion 5. It’s easy to set up, and it only takes a few minutes to inflate and get into the water.

The 1,000 pound max load that the Excursion 5 can support along with the four built-in fishing rod holders makes this a great option for a fisherman who wants to get out and spend the day on the water.

If relaxing is your main goal, it’s probably a good idea to buy a small trolling motor. The built-in motor fitting is perfect for those who don’t want to deal with rowing the Excursion 5.

One thing to note, is that this isn’t the boat for adrenaline junkies and speed freaks. Even with the trolling motor on, the Intex Excursion 5 will only travel at a leisurely speed of about 5mph. Also, if you’re looking for something that was designed for more longterm durability, we would recommend Intex’s Mariner 4 inflatable boat .

However, the ease of setting up and the relatively small size of the Excursion 5 when packed makes it absolutely perfect for those who want a hassle-free, inexpensive way to spend some time on the water.

What’s Included

Intex Excursion 5 Accessories

Also, all Intex boats are backed by a 30 day warranty. We would really love to see Intex’s warranty extended to at least a year.

I want to mount an outboard motor on the Intex Excursion 5. What is the recommended motor size? An outboard motor like a trolling motor or 2 HP gas motor will work. Anything larger than that is not recommended.

Can I repair the Excursion 5 myself if it develops an air leak? Small pinhole leaks and punctures are easily patched, but repairs to holes larger than 2 inches is discouraged by Intex for safety reasons.

Do I need to register the Excursion 5? Yes, it would definitely need to be registered if you’re going to put a motor on.

How do I get a Certificate of Origin to register the boat? Contact Intex and provide them with the boat’s Hull Identification Number, found on the bottom of the capacity label at the boat’s stern.

Can you turn the seats around to face in the same direction instead of each other? No, the seats are fixed. The mounts built in for them don’t allow for either seat to be turned around. You can take them out entirely, however.

How long does it take to inflate the Excursion 5? The boat takes about 15 minutes or so to inflate with the manual pump (included). An electric pump will do the same job in five to ten minutes.

Can a single person row the Intex Excursion 5? Yes it’s possible, although it’s not easy due to the boat’s shape. If you’re planning to go out alone, it is probably a good idea to invest in a small outboard motor. Also, if you don’t necessarily need a boat as big as the Excursion 5, we recommend checking out the smaller Intex Excursion 4 .

How many people can I take fishing with me? Given the gear and tackle you’d have to take along, the Intex Excursion 5 will be able to take two or three fishermen comfortably.

Final Thoughts

Intex Excursion 5 Inflatable Boat

The Excursion 5 is perfect for a leisurely row on the lake or relaxing with friends on a lazy afternoon. Since the seats face each other, it’s perfect for those old-fashioned, face-to-face conversations people seem to be missing in their hectic, tech-driven modern lives.

With the Excursion 5, Intex has gone out of their way to make things as relaxed and comfortable as possible. The inflatable floor is there to stabilize the boat, but also to add comfort for passengers who don’t have a seat. There are carry lines and a handle to make the boat easy to carry, and it’s light enough for anyone to transport.

The Intex Excursion 5 gives the owner peace-of-mind as it is constructed out of a thick PVC vinyl skin. Even if it springs a leak, the boat sports three air chambers, so a single puncture won’t sink the boat.

If you really make the Excursion 5 boating experience completely effort free, you’ll want to invest in a small outboard motor and an electric pump to cut down on the effort that comes with inflating and rowing the boat. The Excursion 5 comes with a motor mount fitting, so you’ll have no trouble installing a motor.

Overall, the Intex Excursion 5 is fun, cheap, and portable — making it a good boat for budget-minded recreational users.

Look at the first sentence under the photo above, “The Intex 5 is an expensive and enjoyable ….” Is that what you meant to say? I would think you meant it’s an inexpensive and enjoyable …

good catch… fixed!

Every inflatable boat advertises itself as “perfect for fishing.”

Dozens of inflatable “fishing” boats have ZERO features for fishermen.

Great question.

The Top 6 Inflatable Boats for Fishing

Whether you’re a newbie fisherman or a professional, here are the top 6 inflatable boats for fishing.

intex excursion 5 anchor

It wouldn’t be a “best inflatable boat list” without the Intex Excursion 5 .

This boat is so popular, I’ve never seen it excluded in anyone’s list.

And no wonder!

The Intex Excursion 5 is the epitome of inflatable boats.

It’s lightweight, convenient, and comes at a remarkably low price tag – everything inflatable boats are famous for.

And for beginner fishermen, this boat is a godsend.

Not only is its price tag super attractive, but it comes with a bunch of features for fishing as well.

Intex Excursion 5 fishing features

For one, this boat comes with rod holders .

  • Hand Vs. Foot Vs. Remote Control Trolling Motor: A…
  • Are Minn Kota Props Universal? Minn Kota Prop…
  • 5 Best RIB Boats for Fishing

These allow you to put your rod down and free your hands for other work. You don’t have to find a way to squeeze it in with your other gear anymore.

Now get this… the Excursion 5 doesn’t come with two rod holders, it comes with FOUR.

This boat was made for fishing with your buddies. With a holder on every corner, everyone gets to put their rods down.

What’s more, you get motor mount fittings .

This is NOT a motor mount itself. You’ll have to buy that separately.

intex excursion 5 anchor

But these fittings make installing a motor mount super easy. You don’t have to be a handyman to get it done.

There’s also a handy gear pouch .

This gear pouch makes bringing bait and tackle along super easy. It’s the ideal place to store these as you row to your destination.

All these make the Excursion great for fishers. However, it’s not something that a professional fisherman would go for.

This boat lacks a few important things:

The Excursion 5 does NOT have a solid floor.

It has a standard air floor that sinks when you step on it. With this, you can’t stand up straight while fishing.

Comfortable seats are also missing . Yes, you get some free inflatable seats , but these are awful. All they do is take up space since they’re very uncomfortable.

The best way to combat both these problems is to build a hard floor and chair. If you’re a handyman, check out this video on how it’s done:

INTEX EXCURSION - FLOOR MOD

If not, you can still enjoy your Excursion without the floor or seats.

Finally, this boat isn’t too strong. It’s built from vinyl , which is a step behind PVC in strength . It can handle calm lakes, but do NOT take it to rough waters.

But all things considered, you won’t find a better deal for an inflatable fishing boat. This boat is ridiculously cheap . Everyone can afford it.

intex excursion 5 anchor

If the Excursion is for beginners, Newport Vessels’ Dana is on the opposite end of the scale.

This is an extremely reliable fishing boat.

Built from 1,100-denier PVC, this boat is thick, strong, and won’t ever let you down. Plus, its seams are heat-welded for even more strength.

With these, punctures and leaks are the last things you have to worry about.

It’s capable of carrying heavier motors and has a V-shaped air keel underneath. This allows you to zip through the water like a speedboat.

The Dana is an extremely high-quality boat, and we haven’t gotten to its fishing features yet!

Newport Vessels Dana fishing features

Anyone who’s gone fishing knows that standing up is the ideal position.

With the Dana’s wooden floorboards , you’ll have a solid floor to plant your feet on. You can fish and fish without ever worrying you’ll fall over.

Not fond of standing?

Sit down in the Dana’s aluminum bench . Unlike the Excursions free seats, this bench is solid and comfortable. You can sit for hours without having to change your position.

Dana is a zodiac-style boat. This means that it is U-shaped instead of O-shaped (rafts are O-shaped) .

This makes it super easy to install a trolling motor or outboard motor . At the bottom of the U (or should I say, top) there is a hard, flat board.

This serves as a built-in motor mount . You don’t have to buy a motor mount anymore, because the Dana has one ready for you.

The Dana also has a self-bailing drain plug .

If you’re fishing on rough seas, water is bound to spill in. A poor boat collects this water until it forms a pool on your floor.

Good fishing boats, like the Dana, don’t.

The self-bailing drain plug removes any water that gets in. This way, you never have to worry about your boat flooding.

Yes, this boat might be pricey.

But when you look at what you’ll get, you’ll realize that it’s well worth its price tag. No wonder professional fishermen love it.

Speaking of professional fishing boats, ALEKO has what is perhaps the most complete inflatable fishing boat ever.

Their Pro Fishing Boat line-up is something every fisherman dreams of.

By themselves, these boats are already excellent.

Made from 1.2mm polyester-reinforced PVC, these boats are strong and durable. Anything you throw at them, they’ll take it like a champ.

They’re also built with a thick rubber rock guard all around. Crashing into rocks won’t puncture your boat thanks to these.

Sound awesome?

Well, wait ‘til we get to the fishing features.

ALEKO Pro fishing features

ALEKO doesn’t only have rod holders, they have adjustable rod holders .

These aren’t simple plastic pieces that don’t do anything except hold your rod – you can move ALEKO’s rod holders around!

You can point your rod holders upwards, to the side, or even downwards. Want to turn it? It can spin 360 as well.

With this, both of your hands will be free while you’re fishing. Talk about convenience.

And that’s not all.

ALEKO Pros are some of the only boats that have front boards .

You can use these boards as a table.

Here, you can prepare your bait, clean your catch, or do any number of important tasks. The possibilities are endless when you have a table on your boat.

What’s more, you get ALEKO’s famous aluminum floor .

This gives you stability like no other.

Yes, Dana’s wooden floorboards are solid – but not as solid as ALEKO’s aluminum flooring. When you stand on these, you’ll feel like you’re back on land.

Here’s how to set it up:

ALEKO Inflatable Boat with Aluminum Floor Installation Video

ALEKO also has aluminum benches – so you can sit comfortably when you’re tired of standing.

Like the Dana, ALEKO is a zodiac-style boat with a built-in motor mount . If you have a battery box, there’s a tie-down strap ready to hold it in place .

You don’t have to worry about water getting in either. With the one-way drain valve , any water that splashes over is automatically removed.

Yes, this boat is expensive – very expensive. If you’re looking for the best pro inflatable fishing boat though, I challenge you to find a better one.

intex excursion 5 anchor

Not every fisherman can afford the Dana or ALEKO Pro.

However, any serious fisherman can afford the Intex Mariner 4 .

No, it’s not cheap. But it doesn’t have an outrageous price tag either.

And it comes with a bunch of fishing features too. That’s why I’ve dubbed it the “cheapest ‘professional’ inflatable boat.”

This boat is a tough one. Made from triple-layered PVC, you won’t have to worry about punctures.

Rocky waters aren’t a problem for this boat at all. Like the ALEKO Pro, the Mariner 4 comes with rock guards around and underneath.

It can go fast with an inflatable keel, and it has 19-inch tall tubes so no water splashes in.

As for fishing, this boat has a lot to offer.

Intex Mariner 4 fishing features

Plastic slat floors might not be the most sturdy, but they’re super convenient compared to wood or aluminum.

All you have to do is roll them out and you’re good to go. No need to spend five minutes setting up any more. Plus, they’re super lightweight, you won’t have any problems bringing them along.

The Mariner comes with two rod holders on either side. These aren’t the fancy adjustable rod holders of ALEKO. But they give you the perfect place to rest your fishing rods.

Speaking of perfect places, you also get a gear and battery pouch . Bait, tackle, and any other equipment go into the gear pouch. While your marine battery goes into the nice, safe, dry place designed for it.

The Mariner doesn’t have aluminum benches. Instead, it has inflatable thwart seats .

No, these aren’t the common free seats you get with cheap boats. These are actually comfortable. They fit snugly on the boat and don’t take up too much space.

Not bad for an inflatable seat.

Despite being a raft-shape boat (O-shape), it’s still easy to install a trolling motor mount on the Mariner.

This is thanks to the motor mount fittings it has on the stern. With these, all you need is a good motor mount and attaching will be a breeze.

If you were to compare the Mariner side-by-side with the Dana or ALEKO, you’d find that it doesn’t quite match up.

However, when you take a look at its price point, it all makes sense. The Mariner 4 is super cheap for a “professional” inflatable fishing boat.

intex excursion 5 anchor

Another boat I’d put in the “not quite professional” category is the Sea Eagle SE9 .

If you’re looking for a good brand, few are as trusted as Sea Eagle.

Their products are American made, and famous for their strength and durability.

Sea Eagle SE9 is no exception.

With its five separate air chambers, you can take on Class III rapids without fear. That’s how strong this boat is.

Cool, rapids… but what about fishing?

I’m glad you asked.

Sea Eagle SE9 fishing features

Like every good fishing boat, the SE9 comes with a hard floor .

Unlike the others though, this is an air floor.

No, not an ordinary air floor. It’s a solid and flat air floor .

Sea Eagle took a bunch of floor tubes, bunched them together, then wrapped them with nylon fabric.

This created a floor that isn’t as stable as ALEKO’s aluminum or NV’s wood. But certainly not as weak as common air floors.

It’s solid enough to stand up , yet still super easy to pack up when you’re done. This makes it both sturdy AND convenient.

The seats of the Sea Eagle SE9 are also unique.

Instead of an aluminum bench or useless free inflatables, the SE9 comes with two types of seats .

One is made for rowing, while the other is made for fishing.

The 4-inch rowing seat puts you at the perfect level for rowing efficiently . While the 13-inch fishing seat puts you at the perfect level for – you guessed it – fishing.

You’ll have a vantage point. From up high, you can see the fish beneath the surface. So when you’re tired of standing, take a seat on this comfortable fishing chair.

The SE9 is also trolling motor mount ready . Once you get a mount, fitting it into the stern of your boat will be super easy thanks to the fittings.

Compared to the Mariner, the SE9 is slightly more expensive. And it’s missing rod holders.

However, when you compare brand quality, Sea Eagle takes the cake. They always produce the finest products – something that can’t be said for Intex (they’re known for cheap boats) .

Something to consider if you’re choosing between these two models.

intex excursion 5 anchor

I don’t always mention pontoons.

But when fishing is the topic, these boats HAVE to come out.

Say what you want about them, pontoons are one of – if not the BEST boats for solo-fishing .

Speaking of “best”, the Colorado by Classic Accessories is one of the best pontoons in the market today.

It’s complete with everything you want from a pontoon and more.

It has one of the most comfortable seats in this entire list. The Colorado’s chair is not only padded, but it’s adjustable as well.

You also get an adjustable footrest and cup holders. So you can sit back, relax, and take sips of your favorite beverage.

With these, you’ll have a chill time out fishing.

Which brings us to fishing features.

CA Colorado fishing features

The Colorado’s rod holders are ordinary. But with no place to put your rod down on a pontoon, these holders are necessary. It’s the only way you can free up your hands.

Now, there might no space for rods, but there is plenty of it for gear and equipment. There are a total of 22 pockets all over this pontoon – 10 mesh and 12 zippered.

These keep everything you need at your fingertips. All you have to do is reach out when you need something.

There’s only one seat, but there’s a perfect place for everything – including a trolling motor and its battery.

The Colorado has a built-in motor mount and battery platform ready. You won’t have to struggle to find a way to install both of these on your pontoon.

Finally, this is the ONLY boat on this list with an anchor system.

When fishing, staying in one spot is very important. It’s why high-tech trolling motors invented anchoring technology.

The Colorado’s anchoring system isn’t quite high-tech, but boy is it effective. It’s a simple mesh bag that you fill up (with stones maybe?) and throw down. This will keep your pontoon put as you fish freely.

You probably weren’t expecting to see a pontoon on this list. But when it comes to solo-fishing, nothing does it better than these boats.

And when it comes to inflatable pontoons, few can match the Classic Accessories Colorado.

Those are the 6 best inflatable fishing boats in the market.

Now that you know that, the next question is:

Which one is best for YOU?

Unfortunately, you’re the only one that can answer that.

To help you out, here’s a chart comparing these six fishing boats:

With that, you should get a better picture of which one you’re looking for.

Keep in mind that these are only fishing features. Looking for the best inflatable boats in general? Check out my top 10 inflatable boats .

Every single inflatable boat advertises itself as perfect for fishing.

In reality, only a handful of them are.

But now that you know the 6 best inflatable fishing boats , you’ll never be deceived.

So what will it be?

Excursion 5?

CA Colorado pontoon?

Whatever you choose, you’re bound to have a grand time fishing!

Intex Excursion 5 Review & Specs

Intex excursion 5 review.

The Intex Excursion 5 could be the ideal boat for your next adventure. Whether you are paddling solo or taking the family aboard.

Excursion 5 is durable and roomy enough for almost any activity on the water. If you are fishing, sunbathing on the lake, or just want to head out and explore the Intex excursion 5 is a great choice for novice and experienced ‘boaters’ alike.

Intex Excursion 5 Key Features

Material/construction.

When you order a Intex Excursion 5, you’ll notice that it comes with a few other pieces of equipment.

This includes two aluminum oars. There’s been a lot of discussion around how good these actually are, with some customers claiming they never lasted very long, whilst others mentioned they did the job just fine.

However, if you’re planning on paddling around casually in an area without any wind or current, you’ll probably be able to use these without any issues.

The boat itself is made from vinyl and triple-layered heavy duty PVC. The inflated part shouldn’t puncture easily, although it’s always important to take care of your boat and avoid dragging it over rocks or anything that might scuff it.

There are three separate air chambers, so if one does get damaged you won’t be totally, um, up the creek without a paddle. You can also fix punctures easily with the repair kit which, like the oars, are included with the boat.

The layout of the boat is also good. If you get the four-person option you’ll have two two-person seats that face each other, both with backrests.

If you get the five-person option you have the same two two-person seats and a small bench in the middle.

With either choice, you’ll be able to move or remove the seats as you choose, which gives you the option to either bring more equipment or something much better, like a dog.

If you would like to use this boat for fishing, you have the option to with four fishing rod holders.

The only thing to take into consideration is that you won’t be able to stand up to cast. If you do this you will need somewhere to store the oars; thankfully, there are also oar holders so you don’t lose or trip over them.

Intex excursion 5 review

As we’ve discussed, this boat is made from vinyl and PVC. This will keep it pretty tough and durable for when you use it, and one review even claimed that it’s pretty much ‘puncture proof if used correctly’.

There are some concerns about the boat’s longevity, though, as the manufacturer only offers a guarantee for 30 days. We recommend inflating this as soon as you get it to make sure that there are no breakages from transportation.

The Intex Excursion 5 is an inflatable boat, which makes it lighter and easier to transport than many hard-shell boats.

It also means that it doesn’t weigh as much in the water, and can get blown off course or pushed around by currents. If you’re planning on fishing or staying in one place – possibly to watch or photograph some wildlife – it might be worth investing in an anchor.

A lot of customers like to modify this boat, and including an anchor is a good way to stay in place.

Ease of Use

So, the most obvious thing to think about when you’re considering buying an inflatable boat is how easy will it be to actually inflate?

The Intex Excursion 5 comes with a manual pump, which should get the boat from the box to the water in 15 minutes, or you can use an electric pump and halve the time.

Reviews have described the experience as ‘perfect for first-timers’, so don’t worry if you don’t have much experience with this.

Intex Quick-Fill DC Electric Car Air Pump, 12V

When you’re on the water you can paddle, although it can be quite awkward and the oars included are not quite long enough. You can either replace them or add a trolling or 1.5-2 outboard motor . If you do decide to do this you’ll move much faster and with far less effort.

Intex Motor Mount Kit for Intex inflatable Boats

After you’re done for the day, it can be difficult to actually get the boat back in the bag: much like a tent or a sleeping bag, these things are supposed to fit tightly. Some people like to separate out parts of the boat into different bags to make more space, or you can just fold the boat and squeeze.

Performance

There are a few important things to discuss about the boat’s performance. As we’ve mentioned, the Intex Excursion 5 is light and can get blown off course when you’re trying to stay in the same spot.

This can happen on still water, and unfortunately means that it’s not suitable for windy days, white water or the sea. However, if you like to fish in still lakes and you’re happy to add an anchor, or if you like to paddle around for a few hours in a calm area, this can still be a good boat.

Four-person: 4 people, with a total weight of 880lbsDimensions: 124” x 65” x 17”

Five-person: 5 people, with a total weight of 1320lbsDimensions: 144” x 66” x 17”

Intex Excursion 5 Pros & Cons

  • It’s good for fishing, and just casually splashing around. If you live near a river or lake and want to get out and enjoy it more, this is great. Grab some friends and go for a paddle, or take your children out, or even just with one or two buddies for some quiet fishing. It probably won’t last as long as a hard shell boat, but as it’s not particularly expensive (especially for a boat) it’ll perk up a summer and you can get a new in a few years.
  • You’ll probably need to get some different paddles, and it’s difficult to use this alone. To be fair, that’s not really what it’s designed for. Make sure you check the boat thoroughly for any damage each time you use it, and be aware that you can’t take this on any water (For example, fast flowing white water), which can be a bit restrictive.

Intex Excursion 5 Conclusion

Overall, we’re fans of the Intex Excursion 5. It’s a (reasonably) cheap and cheerful option that has actually had a good amount of thought and research put into it, and you should be able to get a decent amount of use.

So, if summer is coming soon or if it’s the depths of winter and you just want something to look forward to, this could easily be the center of some good days out.

It measures 144 inches in length and 66 inches in width, with a total weight capacity of 1000 pounds. The boat is constructed from durable, puncture-resistant vinyl and features three air chambers, each with its own valve for inflation and deflation. The Excursion 5 also includes two inflatable seats with backrests, as well as inflatable cushions for extra comfort. The boat comes with two aluminum oars for paddling and a high-output pump for quick and easy inflation. It also features a grab rope on the bow and an all-around grab line for extra stability and safety. The Excursion 5 has a gear pouch and a battery pouch for storage and keeping electronic devices charged. The boat can be easily transported because it can be deflated and stored in a compact size. Description

The Moskva-5 (MOCKBA-5 in cyrillic writing) was produced by KMZ ( Krasnogorskii Mechanicheskii Zavod or Krasnogorsk Mechanical factory) in the 1950s. Earlier models of the Moskva were copies of the Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta C , but it makes more sense to call the Moskva-5 an adaptation. Unlike the Super Ikonta, its solid top plate has a built-in rangefinder and a dual-format viewfinder . The best thing about the Moskva-5 is the coupled rangefinder. A lever with rotating wedge-shaped prisms is fixed to the lens plate. Turning the lens to focus rotates the glass, thus adjusting the rangefinder: a very sophisticated device inherited from the Super Ikonta, with no mechanical linkage between the lens and the body. The two windows are 6.5 cm apart for accurate focusing. The separate viewfinder has a larger field of view, which helps composing the picture. As stated above, a sliding frame in the viewfinder selected on top of the camera can be set to 6×9 or 6×6.

The back of the camera showing the year of production (1958), two red windows for 6×6 and 6×9 numbering, the rangefinder window (left) and the separate viewfinder window (right). The symbol to the left of the serial number is the Krasnogorsk company logo.

Dual Format

Super Ikontas were made either for the 6×9 or 6×4.5 format. The Moskva-5 is a 6×6 and 6×9 camera. Since it has a fixed 105mm Industar lens, at 6×6 you have a mild tele at your disposal. To use the 6×6 size, you need to set the viewfinder to the square format. there is a lever to select the right window so you can see the numbering on the film back. The pressure plate does not need to be removed. The 6×9 red window is now blocked, so there's no room for confusion.

As a last step, the 6×6 mask has to be inserted. The camera locks right into its holes. Close the camera and you're ready to shoot.

The Moment 24c is a leaf shutter with speeds of B, 1 to 1/250s. To fire it, the film needs to be transported or the release button will be blocked, indicated by a red window on the top plate. The shutter isn't set by advancing the film; it has to be cocked at the lens by a lever. To take a picture, press the button on the left of the camera top. The button on the right is for unlocking the front plate when the camera is collapsed. Before folding the camera, you shouldn't forget to push down the lever with the polarised glass window.
