Cycling fans across the UK will be treated to live, flag-to-flag coverage of every stage of the Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain Men this September, with ITV4 once again broadcasting the nation’s premier cycling event. The channel, which has been the home of Britain’s national tour for 12 years, will provide uninterrupted coverage of all six stages for the seventh consecutive year, starting with the opening stage in Kelso on Tuesday 3rd September.

ITV’s commentary team, featuring Ned Boulting and David Millar, will guide viewers through the action as the peloton winds its way from the Scottish Borders through to Suffolk over six days of intense racing. This year’s event is set to be particularly exciting, with cycling stars such as double Olympic gold medallist Remco Evenepoel, two-time world road race champion Julian Alaphilippe , and Olympic mountain biking sensation Tom Pidcock confirmed to be on the start line.

In addition to the live broadcasts, ITV4 will also air a one-hour highlights programme each evening, providing fans with a comprehensive roundup of the day’s events. Those who miss the live action can catch up on ITVX, where both the live coverage and highlights will be available on demand.

Speaking about the extensive coverage, Jonathan Day, Managing Director of British Cycling Events, expressed his enthusiasm for bringing the race to a wide audience. “Bringing the Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain Men to as many people as possible, whether at the roadside or at home on television, is of huge importance to us. We’re delighted to once again have full live free-to-air coverage of every stage, and with the riders announced so far, we know it will be one to remember, so fans can look forward to six exciting days of action.”

The race kicks off in Kelso on the 3rd of September and will continue through Tees Valley, South Yorkshire, the East Midlands, and West Northamptonshire, before concluding on the 8th of September with the final stage from Lowestoft to Felixstowe. International viewers won’t miss out either, as live coverage will be streamed free on the British Cycling YouTube channel, with no geo-restrictions in place.

Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain Men 2024 Stage Three: Key Locations

Stage three of the 20th edition of Britain’s biggest professional cycle race will challenge riders with a demanding 166 kilometre (103-mile) route from Sheffield to Barnsley, traversing

South Yorkshire's most iconic and challenging climbs, putting the 18 competing teams to the test, and offering both riders and fans an exhilarating day of racing.

South Yorkshire has a strong, long-standing cycling tradition, having hosted prestigious races like a Tour de France stage finish in 2014 and four stages of the Tour de Yorkshire between 2016 and 2019. Barnsley and Sheffield, in particular, have been key players in the cycling scene, hosting multiple stages of these events and consistently welcoming rounds of the Lloyds Bank National Circuit Series.

Want to experience the thrill of stage three up close? We've handpicked the top spots to catch all the action and cheer on the riders as they tackle the region’s challenging terrain.

Stage three will commence in Sheffield, a city not visited by the race since 2006. Starting in the city centre, fans will be able to watch the preparations of teams on Tudor Square outside of the Crucible Theatre from 09:30, with all the riders being presented to the crowd team-by-team on the podium on Arundel Gate from 09:50, ahead of the stage start at 11:00.

King of the Mountains

Following two tough days of climbing, stage three won’t provide any respite for our riders with a gruelling ascent of over 2,200 metres, including three categorised King of the Mountains climbs, to contend. Whilst this might be a challenge for the peloton, fans will have the opportunity to see the world’s best riders tackle challenging ascents with a backdrop of stunning views of the Peak District and South Yorkshire.

The first King of the Mountains climb, Long Lane above Loxley, is a 2.6 kilometre ascent averaging almost 5.7%, with the riders due to top the climb at approximately 11:39. The village is a short distance as the crow flies from the race start and is set in the hills and greenery of Sheffield.

A short descent following Long Lane will take our riders on to the second climb at Jawbone Hill. This 1.6 kilometre climb averaging 9.9% was featured in the second stage of 2014 Tour de France and will be a mental and physical test. Fans can expect the riders to summit the climb at roughly 11:46.

The final categorised climb of the stage comes agonisingly close to the finish following a series of short climbs culminating at Hound Hill, a 1.4-kilometre ascent to Worsbrough Common averaging 5.6%. The summit of the climb, just four kilometres from the finish, is expected to play a crucial role in determining the stage winner so this could be a brilliant place to watch the action unfold on the run into the finish.

Intermediate Sprints

After the initial two climbs, the stage will settle down as it passes through Chapeltown, Wath upon Dearne, Swinton, and Maltby. Fans can watch the sole intermediate sprint in the picturesque market town of Tickhill, about 70 kilometres into the race, as the riders battle for valuable points.

Riders are expected to pass through Tickhill at approximately 12:55, before heading towards Doncaster, passing through Conisbrough and Denaby then taking a loop around the northern part of Barnsley, traversing Royston and Darton.

Barnsley will host the finish of the stage on County Way at The Seam, Barnsley’s digital campus, coming at the end of an 800 metre drag along Old Mill Lane, averaging a 7% incline

Alongside the finish line will be the fan zone with food, drink and entertainment, including a big screen for spectators in Barnsley to follow all of the action via the ITV4 coverage, while enjoying the events on offer. For those riding to the event on two wheels, secure bike parking is available.

How else can I watch the action?

For fans eager to see the cycling superstars compete live at the Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain Men, exclusive premium hospitality packages are now available through Sportive Breaks here .

If you can’t make it to see the action in South Yorkshire in person, live flag to flag coverage will be available on ITV4 and ITVX in the UK, and around the world via other broadcasters, as well as a live stream on the British Cycling YouTube channel.

Tour of Britain Men to be screened live in full on ITV next week

The start-to-finish coverage will be complemented by evening highlights, and international coverage on YouTube

Tour of Britain 2023 Wout Van Aert

The upcoming Tour of Britain Men will be shown live on ITV4, British Cycling has announced.

All six stages of the race, sponsored by Lloyds Bank, which begins next Tuesday, 3 September in Kelso, Scotland will be covered live from start to finish, with commentary from the platform's Tour de France commentators Ned Boulting and David Millar, as well as presentation from Matt Barbet.

ITV4 will also show a one-hour highlights programme each evening, with both the live coverage and the highlights available on catch-up on its ITVX platform.

International fans can also enjoy free live coverage of the Tour of Britain on British Cycling's YouTube channel , which is not subject to geo restrictions. There will be more international broadcast details available ahead of the start next week.

The Tour of Britain, which is ranked UCI 2.Pro, features an impressive line-up of teams and riders, with Remco Evenepoel and Julian Alaphilippe (both Soudal Quick-Step), plus Paris Olympics MTB champ Tom Pidcock ( Ineos Grenadiers) set to line up in Kelso on Tuesday.

Bahrain Victorious, dsm-firmenich PostNL, Uno-X Mobility and Israel PremierTech will also be fielding teams, along with domestic representation from Saint Piran, Trinity Racing, and the GB national squad.

After the demise of previous organiser SweetSpot , it had looked as though the Tour of Britain could be in doubt. But British Cycling has taken the reins, bringing in changes including reducing its length to from eight to six stages to give parity with the new Tour of Britain Women.

The 182km hilly first stage in the Scottish Borders starts and finishes in Kelso before the race crosses the border to England for another tough stage that takes the riders 152km from Darlington to Redcar.

Things even out a little for an undulating 166km third stage from Sheffield to Barnsley, before things flatten out for stage four's 138.5km between Derby and Newark in the Midlands.

The race culminates in a pair of relatively flat outings. Stage five – 'The West Northamptonshire Stage' – is based on Northampton and takes riders on a 146.9km exploration of the county, before returning to finish in the city.

The Tour of Britain entourage then moves to Suffolk for a trip down the coast from Lowestoft to Felixstowe. With just 817m elevation in 158.4km, it's the flattest stage of the race and should offer a nailed-on sprint finish to end proceedings.

Last year's winner was Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma), with his team-mate Olav Kooij winning four sprint stages.

One of the top cycling events in the United Kingdom has to be the Tour of Britain. It may be United Kingdom’s version of Tour de France, but there is more to it. Since it is a revamp in 2004, the Tour of Britain has enjoyed growing popularity amongst the masses. It is not surprising that broadcasters are facing intense competition to secure rights for Tour of Britain TV coverage.

ITV will be the broadcasters for the Tour of Britain 2024. The route for this race was unveiled back in February. Many praised the organisers for switching to a more comfortable route, which is likely to guarantee excitement throughout the race. Twenty teams – including several UCI World Teams – will be taking part in the race, which begins on September 4 in Glasgow. Tour of Britain live broadcast will cover the race through various avenues. ITV4 will be broadcasting the Tour of Britain live three hours per day while a highlights program lasting one hour is also on the cards.

Aside from being available on ITV4, subscribers will also be able to catch the action through the ITV player even after 30 days. Free content is available on YouTube in the form of small clips highlighting the action. Residents in the United Kingdom will be able to catch the action live on Sky channel 464, Freesat channel 251, and Virgin Media channel 552. These options are applicable only for the UK residents. Those in the mainland Europe will be able to catch Tour of Britain action through a variety of channels and online streams.

The race has returned with fresh vigour after its cancellation last year, with the route providing plenty of firsts, including debuts for Cornwall, Hawick and Aberdeen, and Wales hosts two complete stages for the first time too.

And the first of these is particularly exciting: a rare team time trial. We haven't been able to watch many of these lately, and the 18.2-kilometre route from Llandeilo to the National Botanic Garden of Wales is just the second TTT to feature in the modern Tour of Britain.

The Queen stage follows, taking the riders up past Coed y Brenin Forest Park and Snowdonia National Park, all the way to the summit of the Great Orme in Llandudno, a brutal climb that rewards its conquerors with stunning views of the north coast of Wales.

The 2024 UCI Road and Para-Cycling Road World Championships take place in Switzerland from 21 to 29 September, with courses for the road racing and time trials around Zurich.

The timing has been pushed back from 2023 by the Paris Olympics and the rescheduling of other events around this, such as the Tour de France Femmes.

As in previous years, the UCI Gravel World Championships take place at a separate date and location. They won’t be held until 5 and 6 October and will take place in Flanders in Belgium.

Racing starts with the women's and men's elite and women's U23 individual time trials on Saturday 22 September. The women's ITT covers 29.9km and the men's ITT covers 46.1km, both finishing in Zurich.

It concludes the weekend after with the women's elite road race on Saturday 28 September, starting in Uster and finishing with four laps of a circuit through central Zurich, covering 154.1km with 2,384m of elevation gain.

The final event is the men's elite road race, which takes place on Sunday 29 September. It starts in Winterthur and finishes with seven laps of the Zurich circuit, covering 273.9km with 4,470m of elevation gain.

The 19th edition of the Renewi Tour, which started out life as the Benelux Tour, then changed to the BinckBank Tour, then the Eneco Tour starts Wednesday, August 28. It's tailor made for classics riders and sprinters, those at home battling headwinds on exposed roads and romping up cobbled bergs.

Read on and we'll show you how to watch the Renewi Tour 2024 live streams from anywhere with a VPN , and potentially for FREE .

Renewi Tour 2024 live streams take place between Wednesday, August 28, and Sunday, September 1. Start times vary. • FREE STREAMS —   Watch on RTBF (Belgium) •  U.S. — Watch on Max •   Canada — Watch on FloBikes •   U.K. — Watch on Discovery+ • Watch anywhere — Try NordVPN risk-free

This year's Renewi Tour live stream boasts a peloton packed with great sprinters. In fact, there is hardly a single big name missing apart from the great Mark Cavendish. Lining up to likely contest three of the five stages will be Jonathan Milan, Arnaud de Lie, Tim Merlier, Fabio Jakobsen, Olav Kooij, Dylan Groenewegen, Jasper Philipsen and winner of the green jersey at this year’s Tour de France, Biniam Girmay. It's an array worthy of any Grand Tour and will make sure the crowds flock to watch the Renewi Tour 2024 action that awaits them.

It’s not just the big name sprinters that the race has attracted either with the likes of Geraint Thomas, Matej Mohoric, Ben Healy, TT specialist Filippo Ganna and likely favorite for the over all classification, World Champion Mathieu Van de Poel.

Unfortunately former TT world champion and favourite for the stage win Filippo Ganna was forced to abandon due to fatigue which left the race more open and taking the opportunity was the 21 year old Belgian Alec Segaert (Lotto Dstny) who just pipped Magnus Sheffield. Segaert now holds the race lead with the race heading into two, sure fire sprint stages.

Stage two is a pan flat time trial so expect a shake up of the overall with Filippo Ganna favourite for the win, one he is in much need of after a fallow year.

Renewi Tour 2024 stages in detail

Run over five stages right across the Flanders region of Belgium, the Renewi Tour 2024 kicks off with a hilly circuit race on the outskirts of Maastricht. Day two follows with a 15.4km pan-flat time trial around the town of Tessenderlo.

Stage three starts on the coast at Blankenberge then heads inland to finish in Andooie with hardly any elevation gain whatsoever along the way. Then stage four from Oostburg to Aalter boasts an almost identical profile to the previous day to set up another Sprint-Royal.

The final stage from Menen to Geraardsbergen is when the hills arrive and they come with a vengeance. Crossing a total of 19 vicious 'Hellingen', including three ascents of the dreaded Muur van Geraardsbergen at the end, will ensure the outcome of the overall goes right down to the wire.

Tour of Britain 2022 route

The 18th edition of the modern Tour of Britain set to take place between September 4 - 11

Tour of Britain 2022 Route

The Tour of Britain returns September 4, after a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19, for eight days of racing as a UCI ProSeries event, making it one of the most prestigious sporting events of Great Britain.

Now in its 18th edition, 18 teams, five of them WorldTour level, will begin on the first Sunday of September in the city centre of Aberdeen and travel southward to the finale on September 11 in the historic Needles on the Isle of Wight.

First four days

Stage 1 opens in Scotland for 181.3 kilometres from Aberdeen, which is the most northerly overall start for the Tour of Britain. Last year Aberdeen hosted the race finale. It becomes the third Scottish city to host the start of the race, while Glenshee Ski Centre becomes the first-ever opening day summit finish. A trio of intermediate sprints and KOM climbs sprinkle the route to reach the approach to the final climb, which is uncategorised. To reach the finish line, the route will follow the 9.1km Old Military Road from Auchallater, facing an average gradient of 4.8% on the final five kilometres.

The second day of racing rolls south of Edinburgh across the rolling hills and rural areas of Scottish Borders, which hosts a full stage for the second time in three editions. From Hawick, the route will cover 175.2km to a first-time finish in Duns. The middle section of the route offers two intermediate sprints - Morebattle and Coldstream - as the roads skirt the North Sea at Eyemouth. Then the final intermediate sprint at Reston leads to a succession of three categorised climbs in the final 30 kilometres - Wanside Rigg (2.1km at 5.7%), Mainslaughter Law (1.7km at 5.9%) and Hardens Hill (1.9km at 4.7%). From the summit of Hardens Hill, the route descends 5.5km to the finish in Duns.

Stage 3 takes on 163.6km on English soil with a first-time start in Durham and winding in a counter-clockwise direction to Sunderland. The route heads west through the North Pennines AONB, with two categorised climbs in the area - first-category Chapel Fell (4.1km at 7.8%) followed by second-category Billy Lane (1.8km at 7.1%). There is one intermediate sprint in the opening 29km, at Stanhope, and then a pair on the road back toward Sunderland, Bishop Auckland and Ferryhill, only 9.5km between the two sprint points. A small category 3 climb at High Moorsley (1.2km at 5.3%) stands in the way to the fast finish outside Sunderland’s new City Hall.

Just a short distance south on the coast will be the start for stage 4 at Redcar, an inaugural host borough. The149.5km route goes through the popular sea-side town of Whitby, which will stage the first intermediate sprint of the day. Following are two short classified climbs at Robin Hood’s Bay and Egton Bank. Once through the next sprint line at Stokesley, with 33km to go, the route heads into the North York Moors National Park with two climbs, opening with the cat 1 Carlton Bank (1.9km at 10.2%). There next climb offers intermediate sprint points at the top, not KOM points, at Newgate Bank (1.3km at 7.3%). The final 85.km descent into Duncombe Park in Helmsley, one of Yorkshire’s finest estates.

Second four days

The longest day of the Tour of Britain is Thursday, September 8 on stage 5 with 186.8km in Nottinghamshire. Like the race did four years ago, the start will be in West Bridgford and the finish is set for the Civic Centre in Mansfield, but the route has changed. From West Bridgford, this year’s route takes in Cotgrave, Gedling, Southwell, Retford and Worksop before heading into Mansfield via Clumber Park and Sherwood Forest. It is a flat day with a trio of intermediate sprints - Edingley, Retford and Clumber Park - and two small classified climbs - at Keyworth (1km at 3.4%) and Sparken Hill (.4km at 8.5%).

All 170.9km on stage 6 roll through Gloucestershire, beginning in the mediaeval market town of Tewkesbury. Only 10km separate this town from the cathedral city of Gloucester, but the route takes the peloton in a clockwise direction into the Cotswolds. In the first 45km there are KOM points at round Hill (1.8km at 9.4%) and Withington Hill (1.5km at 6.9%). A trio of intermediate sprints unfold at Cirencester, Rangeworhty and Dursley before the final categorised climb at Crawley Hill (1.7km at 8.1%). The peloton will then have 25km to go and approach the finish by the historic Gloucester Docks, the country’s most inland port, from South Gloucestershire.

The race reaches the English Channel for stage 7, with a start in West Bay. The route run parallel with the West Dorset Heritage coast as it winds 175.9km on mainly inland roads towards Dorchester, Wareham and Knowlton, all with intermediate sprints. The classified climbs at Daggers Gate (1km at 3.1%) and Whiteways HIll (1.5km at 7.1%) strike as a tandem after the first 55km, the two separated by 8.5km. The final stiff climb comes with 46km to go at Okeford Hill (1.7km at 7.1%). The stage concludes with finishing circuits in Ferndown.

The Isle of Wight hosts the final day of racing, 148.9km from Ryde to The Needles. In between are a sequence of tourist towns - Sandown, Yarmouth and Cowes with intermediate sprints. Scattered among those are three classified climbs - Brading Down (1.9km at 5.8%), Cowleaze Hill (1.7km at 6.1%) and Zig Zag Road (1.4km at 6.3%).

The final 20 kilometres will take the peloton along Military Road, which offers stunning panoramic views out across the English Channel, towards The Needles Landmark Attraction. This year’s race culminates with a two-kilometre climb up to Tennyson Down, the final 400 metres averaging 9.6%, making it the toughest ending to any Tour of Britain in modern history.

  • Stage 1 - Aberdeen to Glenshee Ski Centre, 181.3km
  • Stage 2 - Hawick to Duns, 175.2km
  • Stage 3 - Durham to Sunderland, 163.6km
