A Swamp tour that is Eco-friendly with a tactful approach ~ makes way for an up-close and more personal experience.

  Swamp t ours last approximately 1.5 hours and cost is $25.00 per seat.

Children 2 and younger are free and must ride on an adults lap.

3 yrs old it is up to you if they ride in your lap or purchase them a seat.

Seating is limited and tour times vary so reservations are highly recommended but not always necessary. We do accept walk ups if seating is available and the price would be the same as a reservation.

Cajun Country Swamp Tours "usually" conducts eco-swamp tours seven days a week, including holidays and all year round.

Office/phone hours are generally 7:00 AM- 6:00 Pm 

Sometimes later for sunset tours or we may close early for holidays if no tours are scheduled.

 Tour times can vary a bit day by day, influenced by demand, the weather, and the time of year. To view a calendar of scheduled tours, click the book now button. If the tour time is grayed out it may have a 4 party minimum to be met. You are able to purchase extra seats to meet the minimum and if other guests join, you will be issued a refund for the extra seats that were purchased... otherwise it will be a very cheap private tour :P

Private tours and birding tours are by request and prices vary according to season and the size of the boat needed. Please call or email us for a quote.

1 1/2 hour Airboat Adventure

This is a scenic and exciting airboat ride through the Blue Elbow Swamp, fun airboat trails and surrounding estuaries.  It is likely to see alligators, turtles, nutria, hogs, deer, raccoon and a vast array of birds. Up to 6 passenger max!

Come aboard our 28-foot pontoon boat as we venture into the realm of the alligator for a thrilling tour of Caddo Lake’s ecosystem. Our covered boat lets up to 9 people tour the lake in comfort. Enjoy a day of humor and good conversation, lake history, and wildlife in one of the world’s largest water forests!

Captain Ron’s Pontoon Boat Tour allows you to see much of the primeval, unique and diverse eco-system that makes up this hauntingly beautiful lake. Captain Ron loves to share his lake knowledge and expertise in order to educate visitors about this spectacular locale – he even manages to work in that Texas sense of humor! Destin's tourism department just hit a huge jackpot.

While Florida got a huge shoutout on Taylor Swift " The Tortured Poet's Department " album, the Northwest Florida city got an extra special nod in the song.

In her 11th studio album , Swift sings about escaping to the Sunshine State, with Florence + The Machine  by her side. Together, they both detail the sunny paradise in a haunting, brutal way that only Floridians know.

What were Taylor Swift's lyrics about Destin?

In the song " Florida !!!" with Florence + the Machine, Swift sings the lyrics:

"Little did you know your home's really only; A town you're just a guest in; So you work your life away just to pay; For a time-share down in Destin."

Where is Destin?

Destin is a city located along the Gulf of Mexico in Okaloosa County, right in the state's panhandle region. According to USA Today, the area is known as a tourist destination because of the gulf beaches, fishing and resorts. 

What is Swift's connection to Destin, Florida?

There is no direct connection to Destin for the popstar but Swift does have some ties to the state as a whole.

For starters, her father Scott Swift lives in a $4 million home in Pinellas County. Back in 2020, it was reported he fought a burglar who broke into the St. Pete penthouse.

In “Florida!!!”, Swift and Florence offer up a suspense-filled track that highlights the beauty and brutality of the state, with lyrics aimed at escaping, washing away with hurricanes and bodies (metaphorically) sinking away in the swamp.

But what is the song actually about? Well, no one but Swift, her collaborators and closest confidants will know the answer but that doesn't stop Swifties from sleuthing. However, Swift did tell iHeart Radio that after getting inspiration from crime shows, she thought of where she'd go if she needed to reinvent herself.

"I think I was coming up with this idea of 'what happens when your life doesn't fit' or 'the choices you've made catch up with you' and you're surrounded by these harsh consequences and judgement," Swift said. "And circumstances did not lead you to where you thought you'd be."

Fans previously speculated the album was about Swift’s six-year relationship with English actor Joe Alwyn and their breakup. Many theorize that "Florida!!!" is about her Eras Tour shows at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium from April 13-15, 2023 — which would have been when details of Swift's and Alwyn's breakup were made public.

The theory seems to be confirmed when Florence sings, "So you pack your life away just to wait out/The sh—storm back in Texas." According to Elle , Houston was the next tour stop after Tampa.

Ever since the track list was revealed, fans looked back at moments from the Tampa shows and noticed the popstar seemed upset when performing songs about her past relationship.

Does Florida get any other Tayor Swift nods in 'The Tortured Poets Department'?

Yes! In "Fortnight," a collaboration with Post Malone and the lead single on the album about a suburban housewife's fling with a married man, she sings at the end:

Huge news for Florida: Taylor Swift just released a new song dedicated to the state. While the tribute might come as a surprise for the singer, who was raised in Pennsylvania then moved to Tennessee to kick-start her music career in Nashville, fans have theories about the track’s backstory.

On “Florida!!!”, which appears on her new album The Tortured Poets Department , Swift and Florence Welch (of Florence + The Machine) trade verses about finding solace and an escape in the Sunshine State. There are lines like: “I need to forget, so take me to Florida” and “Florida, can I use you up? ” (Florida’s tourism board could not have hit a bigger jackpot.)

The song “Florida!!!” has a similar kind of infectious energy to it. It carries an anthemic and at times euphoric feel, especially with pounding drums in the chorus. It sounds heavily inspired by Welch’s own music and seems like it would kill in a stadium setting.

Swift played three nights in Tampa before moving on to her next tour stop in Houston from April 21 to 23, 2023. (Her lyric, “So you pack your life away just to wait out the shit storm back in Texas,” might be a reference to her tour schedule.) She gave a thumbs up to fans asking if she was okay post-breakup, but in reality, she was suffering, which she details in the TPD track “ I Can Do It With a Broken Heart .” She sings at the end of that song, “’Cause I’m miserable / And no one even knows!”

In a foreword she shared as the album dropped, Swift wrote that TPD is “an anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time—one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure. This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it. And then all that’s left behind is the tortured poetry.”
