BTS member Suga announces historic solo world tour with US shows
Suga of BTS announced a string of concerts around the world Tuesday, making him the first member of the record-setting Korean group to launch a solo tour.
The tour will start in Belmont Park, New York April 26 and visit a slew of other cities between April and June with notable stops in Newark, New Jersey, Los Angeles and Oakland, California, plus destinations in Asia including Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, Thailand and South Korea.
The South Korean rapper, music producer and songwriter who also goes by Agust D, took to Instagram Tuesday to share the news, simply posting a fire emoji as the caption.

If tickets remain after the Verified Fan pre-sale, then general verified fan tickets will go on pre-sale March 2 and the public will have access to tickets March 3.

BTS members focusing on solo projects
BTS said in June that the group is taking a break — but the mega-star K-pop group is making it clear that they're not breaking up.
"We're going into a hiatus now," Suga said in a more than hour-long video on YouTube and translated from Korean into English subtitles.
A statement from Hybe, the South Korean entertainment company behind BTS, said they’ll still be working on projects as a group, as well as individually. “BTS are not taking a hiatus. Members will be focusing more on solo projects at this time,” the statement said.
What BTS members have been up to recently
While Suga has announced a world tour, the rest of BTS has been busy, too.
BTS' j-hope performed at Lollapalooza, where he was the first South Korean act to headline and has a documentary dubbed "j-hope IN THE BOX" coming out this year, exploring his first solo album.
Jimin is working on his debut solo album that he anticipates releasing next month, according to Rolling Stone .
Jungkook performed at the World Cup, debuting his new song "Dreamers."
V is involved in an upcoming reality television program, tvN's 'Seojin’s, set to begin Feb. 24. He'll build a restaurant with fellow Korean celebrities Park Seo Joon ("Itaewon Class"), Choi Woo Shik ("Parasite"), Jung Yu Mi ("Train to Busan") and Lee Seo Jin ("Three Meals a Day").
And RM is setting records with his solo album , "Indigo." He was the first Korean soloist to enter the Top 3 of the Billboard 200 album chart and the first Korean male soloist to have an album spend at least five weeks on the Billboard 200

Suga will become the first BTS member to embark on a solo tour, with a slate of dates scheduled around the world this spring, including a U.S. run. The tour is notably being billed under Suga ’s own name, as well as his other stage moniker, Agust D.
The trek will kick off with two shows at the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York — outside New York City — on April 26 and 27. Suga will then play one show in Newark, New Jersey, three in Rosemont, Illinois (just outside of Chicago), and three in Los Angeles. The U.S. leg wraps with two gigs in Oakland on May 16 and 17.

BTS ‘ Suga announced the dates for his first-ever solo world tour on Tuesday morning (Feb. 14). According to a posting on Weverse, the unnamed tour is slated to kick off on April 26 at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York before dates at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. (April 29), Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL (May 3, 5 & 6), the Kia Forum in Los Angeles (May 10, 11, & 14) and Oakland Arena in Oakland, CA (May 16, 17).
He’s Got Game: BTS’ Suga Sits Courtside at Lakers Match & Shows Off…
A release announcing the tour noted that the Weverse post mentioned Agust D, Suga’s other stage name, which caused a lot of ARMY chatter about what fans might expect from the dates; click here for ticketing and Verified Fan information. The rapper and dancer posted a video in December in which he showed off his smooth moves in a hip-hop dance 101 class with the help of a private instructor.
“Hello everyone. At age 30, I’ve come to take dance lessons. Basic hip-hop moves. It’s been about 12 years since I last did this in high school. I’ll give it a try,” he said in the video, telling fans that he felt like he’d taken a trip back in time to his pre-BTS trainee days. “I’m a mess. This is so hard. It’s so hard to do this [basic moves] after a long time. I feel kind of dumb doing this. When I first joined as a trainee I’d never danced before.”
He also updated ARMY on what he’s been up to since the group announced their hiatus in June. “I’ve learned some basic hip-hop moves. I’ve suddenly got an interest in learning at the age of 30,” he said. ”I’m taking all kinds of lessons now. I’ve started playing the keyboard again. I’m also taking guitar and dance and Japanese and English.”
While J-Hope headlined Lollapalooza in Chicago last July and Jin performed his single “The Astronaut” with Coldplay in Argentina in October, Suga’s outing is the first full-fledged solo tour by a member of BTS. The rapper previously released two mixtapes under his solo alter ego, Agust D (2016) and D-2 (2020).

BTS' Suga Announced His First Solo World Tour
The rapper and singer will hold 11 shows in the U.S.
BTS is set to start their mandatory military service soon, but they’re giving their fans a proper send off before then. In addition to the individual solo projects, albums, and collaborations they’ve all released, Suga will become the first member to embark on his own solo world tour.
The group’s charismatic rapper, songwriter, and producer announced his first-ever global tour on Tuesday, which will take him to cities across the U.S., Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Japan. On his own, the member will play arena stages — and likely sell them out, too. The tour, called Agust D, named after his 2016 solo mixtape and his other stage name, kicks off in late April and will likely wrap up three months later in July with a few dates yet to be announced in Japan.
In the U.S., Suga is scheduled to play huge venues like New Jersey’s Prudential Center and Los Angeles’ Kia Forum — two arenas with a seat capacity of over 17,000. Per the tour schedule, he’s set to play multiple nights in some cities, which will hopefully ease some of the overwhelming fan demand (and ticketing nightmares).
Last we checked, Suga was meant to kick off his military duties in March 2023, but given the scheduling of the tour, that seems to have changed. It is likely he’ll instead enlist following the tour. NME reported that the boyband member will also not enter active duty as previously thought, and will instead fulfill his military requirements as a social service agent.
In addition to his 2016 mixtape Agust D , Suga also released D-2 , his second solo mixtape, in 2020. This tour will finally give him the opportunity to perform both of those projects live. For everything you need to know about attending Suga’s tour from the full tour schedule to how to buy tickets, read on.

BTS’s Suga Announces Solo World Tour Dates
SUGA of the popular K-pop group BTS will hold his first solo world tour. The announcement was made on February 14, 2023 via the global platform Weverse. Suga is the first BTS member to go on a solo tour.
Other BTS members have done solo performances since the June 2022 announcement of their break in group activities. J-Hope performed a solo set for the first time at Lollapalooza in July 2022. Jungkook performed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup’s opening ceremonies in Qatar, singing the song he did specifically for the World Cup, “Dreamers.”
Jin performed his solo song, “The Astronaut,” with Coldplay in Argentina during their world tour. (“The Astronaut” was co-written by Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin.) RM had a small, intimate performance for fans in South Korea where he performed songs off his most recent album, Indigo .
Suga’s tour kicks off in Belmont Park, New York on April 26, 2023. The world tour takes place from April through June, with the North American leg stopping in Newark, Rosemont, Los Angeles, and Oakland. After wrapping up in North America, the tour will hit Asia, stopping in Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, and Japan.
The mention of Agust D, SUGA’s other stage name, in the tour announcement caught the eyes of BTS fans and heightened the anticipation of his first solo tour. The official title of the tour will be unveiled at a later date.
Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 3:00PM PST on Ticketmaster but, of course, not everyone will get their hands on a concert ticket. According to Ticketmaster, fans who are part of the ARMY membership had to apply for a presale code. Many lucky fans received emails on February 28, 2023 announcing they had been invited to receive a code for the presale.
Ticketmaster offered this explanation via Twitter: “Demand is high, and Tour Organizers are making 100% of tickets available for purchase during the ARMY MEMBER Presale. If all tickets are purchased during the ARMY MEMBER Presale, there will not be any additional sales.”
Not every BTS fan was able to get a code. Those who didn’t were sent an email stating they have been waitlisted.

Suga Announces First Solo World Tour, 'AGUSTD TOUR'
February 15, 2023, 7:02 am 34 Comments
The group BTS has announced its hiatus, but that doesn't mean we won't hear from them, on the contrary!
The group's hiatus allows members to make their own individual experiences and debuts, showing their true colors to fans.
Suga just announced his first solo world tour, making him the first BTS member to hold such a solo tour.
The tour is notably billed under Suga's own name, as well as his other stage moniker, Agust D.
Suga has announced a series of tour dates in the United States and Asia for later this year.
The tour kicks off with two nights in Belmont Park, New York, on April 26 and 27, with the artist scheduled to play four other US cities, namely Newark on April 29; Rosemont on May 3, 5 and 6; Los Angeles on May 10, 11 and 14; and Oakland on May 16 and 17.
Subsequently, he planned to perform shows in Indonesia in Jakarta for three nights from May 26 to 28, in Bangkok on June 10 and 11, and in Singapore on June 17 and 18, before performing two nights of concerts at Jamsil Indoor Seoul Stadium on June 24 and 25.
He will also perform in Japan, but dates are yet to be confirmed.
Tickets for the US dates will go on sale to the general public on March 2 at 15 p.m. local time. However, official ARMY members will have first access to tickets during a pre-sale on March 1, from 15 p.m. local time until 22 p.m. local time.
Any remaining tickets will first be made available during a Ticketmaster Verified Fan presale and then a general sale, but these will be forfeited if all tickets sell out during the ARMY members-only presale.
Here is the detailed schedule of Suga/Agust D tour dates (more to come):
26-27 – Belmont Park, USA, UBS Arena
29 – Newark, United States, Prudential Center
3 – Rosemont, United States, Allstate Arena
5-6 – Rosemont, USA, Allstate Arena
10-11 – Los Angeles, United States, Kia Forum
14 – Los Angeles, United States, Kia Forum
16-17 – Oakland, United States, Oakland Arena
26 -28 – Jakarta, Indonesia, Indonesia Convention Exhibition
10-11 – Bangkok, Thailand, Impact Arena
17-18 – Kallang, Singapore, Singapore Indoor Stadium
24-25 – Seoul, South Korea, Jamsil Indoor Stadium
Although for the moment, nothing is specified regarding a European date, fans are hoping that new dates will be announced and that the BTS member will also go to Europe!
See this post on Instagram A publication shared by ALT K-SÉLECTION MÉDIA 알트케이셀렉션 미디어 (@alt_k_selection)
Congratulations on your concert, I hope you will come to Quebec
please I hope he will come to France!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They never come to Canada. It’s scandalous!!! Yoongi please I want you to come
It's disgusting, all the groups do Asia>United States>Asia, why do they never come to Europe. It is certain that he will not come, the dates to be added are for Japan, if it was planned that he was going to come to Europe it would have been written: “Europe – date to come” or something like that
We have to keep hope, there will surely be new dates§
Like I see several Europeans complaining but what can we say about us here in Africa then, mm simple concerts we are not entitled to anyway, I hope that the susucre tour goes well, strength to you my cookie
People personally with several friends sent an email in English to Big Hit to explain our dissatisfaction on the subject, do it too if you want. The truth is, I was a little angry because since Suga has been my ultimate bias since 2014, I was really worried that he wouldn't come, so write this email, maybe we'll understand, right?
I did exactly the same
And here we have nothing? It’s not a World Tour
I wish him a lot of success and I hope there will be concerts planned in France later Alone or in a group BTS loooooooove ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
We should stop saying word tour for these artists, because it is only limited to the US and Asian countries.. Unfortunately, we are still excluded from the system, yet the fan base in Europe is immense… I hope at least that in 2026-2027 they will do a real world tour... There, I really find it a shame that he won't come to Europe, I would have loved to see him on stage...
Ah but they come to Europe….but only for fashion weeks… unfortunately
It's incredible that they can do their own world tour!!! That’s super cool for him! A little disappointed that he won't come to France but I'm happy to know that he will be able to have fun!!
They are all wonderful and great in everything I wish you luck my heart ❤️✌️
Those who complain that he doesn't come to Paris but imagine in Belgium there is no one so consider yourself lucky there are plenty of artists who have given concerts in France
We complain if we want, okay? It's normal to want him to come to Paris if you're in France. And there may be plenty of artists but Suga is not just any artist, for me he is the best male idol so personally I find your argument a bit stupid.
I too think he's one of the best male Idols
Me too c Same, c Really the best male idol
Vava is right though. We in Quebec only have PTN from Quebec who do their weird tour but never kpop
Nice for Quebec artists, respect them a bit or at least pretend. Suga as I said he's not an artist like the others so it's normal that we complain!!
If there was the rose etc.
The Rose that I'm going to see this evening has come to Brussels!
And all that alone takes 12 hours
Seriously, it's good to come just to be in the spotlight when there are other singers and other luxury brands, but where are we in all that? Seriously, for example, I live in Brittany so to go to Paris you have to go by taxi, bus or train, but there, if to see it you have to take the plane, don't overdo it. Afterwards I understand that well we can't go everywhere but still fashion week wasn't long ago so why not come and do a concert now?
I'm sure there will be new dates, how could he not come to Europe? I would find it ridiculous if it didn't go to Europe because there are a lot of fans here. If he doesn't come to France I'll cry, as is my bias I've always dreamed of seeing him do a solo world tour. Especially since Suga will be 30 years old on March 9 and then he will have until December to go to the army, we won't see him again for a long time
World Tour ? We wouldn't say there are still only for the United States and Asia.. France does not exist only for fashion week where the artists know how to go regularly.. it is still thanks to the fans that the idols can are going there then it would be good if they come to sing in Europe.. seriously already that the group has only been to the States and Asia before their installation… it gets boring to be forgotten….
Calm down ! There are still dates which will be communicated later and there is a good chance that he will come to France as well as other European countries as usual
It’s such a shame that it’s not coming to France…
So France does not exist, I would really like him to come to Paris
Hyper above that it does not go through France!!! I had really hoped that he would come to Paris and when I saw that he was only passing through the United States and Asia my enthusiasm suddenly dropped.
I know that the United States is really into the Korean music business at the moment so Kpop groups often go there for concerts etc... but WORLD tour that also means Europe, Africa, etc... It's already been lots of dates elsewhere but hey all the groups say they are doing World Tours but they are enough in the US it's just sad to forget that a large part of the fans are also elsewhere… I hope that later they will want to come to Europe! It made us so happy when Blackpink came several times <3
Phew I was grv disappointed when I saw just US and Asia
Already you are lucky that the idols are doing concerts at home in France and Europe but in Africa they don't come eh so wait to see the remaining dates of the tour.
I am so happy I cry with joy. It’s sad for the moment it’s not coming to Europe….

The second-eldest member of the Bangtan Boys is expected to follow his bandmate Jin and begin military service in 2023, but that enlistment seems like it will have to wait until at least the end of June. Suga’s “Agust D Tour,” in support of his 2020 mixtape of the same name, will kick off the US leg on April 26th and 27th with a two-night stand in Belmont Park, New York. He’ll play Newark, New Jersey, before heading to Rosemont, IL for three shows, followed by a triple-booking in Los Angeles and wrapping up the American jaunt with two nights in Oakland, California.
Suga will then head to Indonesia for three nights in Jakarta, followed by two-night stops in Thailand and Singapore, ending in his home country of South Korea. Additionally, his agency Big Hit Entertainment has also teased a stop in Japan, with more information coming soon. Peep the full itinerary after the jump.
Members of BTS ARMY will have the first chance to score tickets beginning Wednesday, March 1st. Ticketmaster Verified pre-sale will follow on Thursday, March 2nd, pending ticket availability ( registration is now ongoing through February 23rd at 10:00 p.m. ET).

2024 RB Jordan Montanez commits to Syracuse
2024 RB/ATH Jordan Montanez committed to Syracuse on Saturday, he announced on social media.
He selected the Orange as a PWO over an offer from Massachusetts, citing a strong connection to SU's new coaching staff led by Fran Brown.
“I see what kind of program Coach Brown is building,” Montanez said. “I want to be a part of it. Coach Brown is strong in his faith and encourages others to do so which is in alignment with my beliefs.”
Another top factor for Monantez was the education.
"The main perk in going to Syracuse is getting a world class education which Coach Brown also pushes his athletes to get good grades," Montanez said. "I believe in the DART mentality and I want to be developed into a better player by the best."
Other things came into alignment for Montanez.
Though he plays at Sugar Land (TX) Fort Bend Christian, his family is originally from New York.
"It'll be like I'm coming home," Montanez said. "Going to Syracuse is not just about playing football for me but continuing my family legacy as I've had family play at Syracuse."
Montanez made his decision after getting a closer look at Syracuse earlier in the month on an unofficial visit. He got to tour the facilities, get to know the coaches better and see campus.
"I was very impressed with the academics, football staff, facilities, and how locked in the team was at practice," Montanez said in a previous interview. "I feel that I can be developed both on the field and off."

USDA updates rules for school meals that limit added sugars for the first time

The nation’s school meals will get a makeover under new nutrition standards that limit added sugars for the first time, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Wednesday.
The final rule also trims sodium in kids’ meals, although not by the 30% first proposed in 2023. And it continues to allow flavored milks — such as chocolate milk — with less sugar, rather than adopting an option that would have offered only unflavored milk to the youngest kids.
The aim is to improve nutrition and align with U.S. dietary guidelines in the program that provides breakfasts to more than 15 million students and lunches to nearly 30 million students every day at a cost of about $22.6 billion per year.
“All of this is designed to ensure that students have quality meals and that we meet parents’ expectations,” Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack told reporters.
The limits on added sugars would be required in the 2025-2026 school year, starting with high-sugar foods such as cereal, yogurt and flavored milk. By the fall of 2027, added sugars in school meals would be limited to no more than 10% of the total calories per week for breakfasts and lunches, in addition to limites on sugar in specific products.
Officials had proposed to reduce sodium in school meals by as much as 30% over the next several years. But after receiving mixed public comments and a directive from Congress included in the fiscal year 2024 appropriations bill approved in March, the agency will reduce sodium levels allowed in breakfasts by 10% and in lunches by 15% by the 2027-2028 school year.
