Star Trek: Voyager is an American science fiction television series created by Rick Berman, Michael Piller, and Jeri Taylor. It originally aired between January 16, 1995 and May 23, 2001 on UPN, lasting for 172 episodes over seven seasons. The fifth series in the Star Trek franchise, it served as the fourth sequel to Star Trek: The Original Series . While the majority of Starfleet's members are human and it is headquartered on Earth, hundreds of other species are also represented. In the Star Trek fictional universe, shields refer to a 23rd and 24th century technology that provides starships, space stations, and entire planets with limited protection against damage. They are sometimes referred to as deflectors , deflector shields , and screens .

The Star Trek fictional universe contains a variety of weapons, ranging from missiles to melee. The Star Trek franchise consists primarily of several multi-season television shows and a dozen movies, as well as various video games and inspired merchandise. Many aspects of the fictional universe impact modern popular culture, especially the lingo and the idea of a spacecraft launching space torpedoes and firing lasers, and have had a wide influence in the late 20th to early 21st century. Star Trek is popular enough that its science fiction concepts have even been studied by real scientists, and NASA described its science in relation to the real world as "entertaining combination of real science, imaginary science gathered from lots of earlier stories, and stuff the writers make up week-by-week to give each new episode novelty." USS Voyager is the fictional Intrepid -class starship which is the primary setting of the science fiction television series Star Trek: Voyager . It is commanded by Captain Kathryn Janeway. Voyager was designed by Star Trek: Voyager production designer Richard D. James and illustrator Rick Sternbach. Most of the ship's on-screen appearances are computer-generated imagery (CGI), although models were also sometimes used. The ship's motto, as engraved on its dedication plaque, is a quote from the poem "Locksley Hall" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson: "For I dipt in to the future, far as human eye could see; Saw the vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be."

" Caretaker " is the pilot episode of the American science fiction television series Star Trek: Voyager . This series premiere was first broadcast as one double-length episode on January 16, 1995, as the first telecast of the fledgling UPN network. It was later split into two parts for syndication, but released in the original one-episode format. Set in the 24th century, the series follows the adventures of the Starfleet and Maquis crew of the starship USS Voyager after they were stranded in the Delta Quadrant far from the rest of the Federation.

Runabouts are a class of small, multi-purpose starships in the Star Trek science-fiction franchise, primarily the television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine , which aired on syndicated television between 1993 and 1999. They were the primary means of transport for the crew of the DS9 station. As the station had three launch pads, its normal contingent of runabouts numbered three, though a high rate of loss often reduced that number until a new ship or ships could be assigned.

USS Enterprise – NCC-1701-D is a 24th-century starship in the fictional Star Trek universe and the principal setting of the Star Trek: The Next Generation television series. Peter Lauritson is a long-time film producer and director and television producer and director who first became involved with the Star Trek franchise with Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan . For those who consider themselves as die-hard fans of the popular sci-fi Star Trek universe, you may already know that Star Trek’s 24 th century has some astounding array of Starfleet ships that we can stare at with admiration. Star Trek has had strong starships designs since the very beginning. Let’s dig a bit deeper to know more.

The history of Star Trek dates back to 1966-1967 with The Original Series Season 1. All this began when a writer and former Air Force pilot, Gene Roddenberry , wanted to make a science fiction TV show that featured characters that show humanity at its best.

Since then, there has been no looking back as Star Trek has become one of the most popular sci-fi television shows of all time. While it has been entertaining its audience for decades and is globally known for its genre of science fiction, it’s also known for it’s the great space battles with different alien species.

Over the years, the show came up with dozens of iconic starship designs, many of which are even known to people who don’t follow Star Trek. The idea behind the creation of these ships was to represent the diversity of various races, cultures, and factions. So, whether it’s the TOS ( The Original Series ), Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG) , Deep Space Nine (DS9), Voyager, or Picard , the show has always lived up to the expectation of producing some vast fleets that demonstrated the abilities at their best.

30. ss botany bay.

Built in the late 20 th century by the United States of America, this DY-100-class sleeper ship played a great role in helping Khan Noonien Singh and his group to escape Earth after being defeated at Eugenics Wars . You can explore the nuclear power of this ship and know more about it by watching the prime timeline of Star Trek – TOS.

29. Phoenix

Phoenix, an Earth spaceship, was constructed during the mid-21 st century. The interesting fact about this ship is that it used to be a nuclear missile. Yes, Lily Sloane and Zefram Cochrane later converted this missile into a prototype spaceship. Isn’t it amazing? That’s not it; it is also known to be the first human-made spacecraft launched from Earth to travel faster than the speed of light by using warp-drive technology.

28. Friendship 1

You will come across this Star Trek ship name in a Star Trek: Voyager episode. Launched in 2067 by the United Earth Space Probe Agency, four years after the Phoenix’s game-changing flight, this deep space probe came to find other species. The Friendship 1 ship’s exquisite feature is that it contained a lot of scientific, technological, and cultural information that helped to seek out new worlds and new civilizations.

27. USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-J)

You can get a glimpse of this starship in the “Azati Prime” – The Star Trek: Enterprise episode. It bags one of the top spots in the list as it boasts some of the advanced technologies. However, it is not that popular due to two reasons – one, it just has a brief glimpse, and second, a time-traveling Captain said that the Enterprise-J exists in a possible future timeline.

26. Galileo (NCC-1701-7)

Assigned to the USS Enterprise in the 2260s, Galileo was a Class F shuttlecraft and bore the name of the great astronomer and mathematician of all time. They first used a telescope – Galileo Galilei. However, this craft was lost near Taurus II in 2267, at the time of the Murasaki Effect investigation. It was then replaced with the same numbered craft that was dubbed as the ‘Galileo II.’

25. USS Raven (NAR-32450)

This Federation exploration vessel was the home and the workplace of Magnus and Erin Hansen, the Borg-studying scientists. Check out its remains in the Star Trek: Voyager episode, “The Raven.”

24. Deep Space Nine

While this isn’t technically a ship, its a space station, we though it was important to include. There are two sides to this. On one side, it is simply an old Cardassian mining station for the same-titled TV series. While on the other hand, the same mining station is modified and reconstructed into a battle station with 5,000 photon torpedoes in Deep Space Nine – Season 4 of Star Trek.

23. USS Defiant (NX-74205)

Built for Borg battles, this amazing Federation craft was armed with a cloaking device that was lent from the Romulan Star Empire. It is known to be one of the successful warships that you can see for yourself in Star Trek: Deep Space Nin e as well as Star Trek: First Contact . Also know for it’s “mining” capabilities in games.

22. La Sirena

Memory Alpha states that this newcomer Star Trek ship is a Kaplan F17 Speed Freighter, a class of civilian ships equipped with phasers and shields but a whole lot of hologram capacities. Not to forget, it is the only entry from Star Trek: Picard.

21. USS Franklin (NX-326)

This ship is small, but at the same time, tough, just like other Freedom-class starships. You can see this 22 nd -century ship in the Kelvin timeline of Star Trek: Beyond, seat belts. It is equipped with stealth technology, cannons, and torpedoes, and its warp four power was used to get to the Starbase Yorktown from the planet, Altamid .

20. Enterprise (NX-01)

In the 22nd century of Star Trek: Enterprise , you can see how this starship has the potential to carry a huge crew of almost 100 people. It is remembered as a victory of Zefram Cochrane’s theories of space travel.

19. Sh’Raan

Even though the Vulcans are known better than combat ships for logic, the pre-Federation years have seen Spock’s forerunners ready to throw down in Sh’Raan – the Star Trek: Enterprise -era starship that was capable of Warp 7 power.

18. USS Shenzhou (NCC-1227)

This Walker-class Federation USS starship was introduced in the 23 rd century, and you can see it in Star Trek: Discovery. It had everything, including phasers, cannons, and torpedoes, but unfortunately, it got smashed in the Battle of the Binary Stars that occurred in 2256.

17. Sarcophagus

Bigger than the Shenzhou, Klingon starship of the 23rd-century can be witnessed in the Star Trek: Discovery pilot. One interesting feature of the Sarcophagus is that its armor contains the remains of Klingon warriors in the form of a patchwork of caskets.

16. Jem’Hadar Warship

Simply put, it’s all interconnected when we talk about this warship. The story of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is incomplete without the Dominion, and the story of Dominion is incomplete without the Jem’Hadar warship, i.e., its military division.

15. USS Prometheus (NCC-71201)

This Nebula-class Federation USS starship is in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine . It was introduced as a floating science trial. It not only gets the job done but is also famous for its magnificent goal of reigniting a dead sun.

14. USS Excelsior (NX-2000)

It is featured in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country as the first Federation starship having trans-warp drive. This 23rd-century ship was operated by Starfleet and served Captain Hikaru Sulu , who commanded the Excelsior from 2290 to at least 2320.

13. D7-class Battle Cruiser

This Klingon starship is considered the largest of its era as it was 748 feet long and had 430 crew members. Although many other cooler introductions came along in the 24 th century, this starship still holds a higher rank. It is also termed as ‘ the pinnacle of combat warships in the 23rd century ’ as per StarTrek.com.

12. Scimitar

This Reman-made ship boasts about a lot of things. Featuring in Star Trek: Nemesis , it is loaded with photon-torpedo bays and disruptor banks. Additionally, Scimitar can convert itself into a Thalaron weapon. It is similar to a nuclear weapon but has far more destructive attributes than the latter.

11. Vor’Cha-class Attack Cruiser

This was yet another heavily armed Klingon starship used during the middle and later part of the 24 th century. It was almost as long as a Galaxy-class Federation craft and was similarly used as the backbone of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance fleet in the mirror universe.

10. USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-A)

Have you seen the original iconic Enterprise? USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-A) is a Constitution-class starship that is essentially a replica of it. It was first featured in the prime timeline of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home . Additionally, it also appears in the Kelvin timeline of the J.J. Abrams-era Star Trek films.

9. USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-B)

USS Enterprise-B is a polished version of the prime timeline’s Constitution-class Enterprise. This Excelsior-class Federation starship was introduced in the 23rd century and can be seen in Star Trek Generations .

8. USS Enterprise (NCC-1701), Prime Timeline

The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) was a 23rd century Federation Constitution-class starship launched in 2258. Officially Federation was a flagship, this starship was operated by Starfleet. Unfortunately, it was destroyed during the planet Altamid battle in 2263.  

7. USS Enterprise (NCC-1701), Kelvin Timeline

This starship was introduced in the 23rd century, so it has the potential of more than warp 8. In fact, it became the first Federation starship to start a five-year mission under the command of Captain James T. Kirk . It is said to be more than double the size of the Prime Timeline’s Enterprise.

6. Romulan Warbird

Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew were awestruck by this Romulan Warbird for obvious reasons in Star Trek: The Next Generation . According to StarTrek.com, it is considered to be the largest and the most powerful Romulan spacecraft.

5. Negh’Var Warship

Negh’Var Warship was the largest class of starship, running more than 2,250 massive feet long. This powerful starship was operated as the emperor’s flagship in the Klingon Empire during the late 24 th century.

4. USS Vengeance

Designed and developed by Khan Noonien Singh and Section 31, Star Trek: Into Darkness reveals how scary this 23rd-century starship is. From Star Trek’s Kelvin timeline, this ship was specifically created for combat and was commissioned in 2259. It has very assassin type feel.

3. The Whale Probe

You cannot stop boasting about the exquisite features of this starship – the Whale Probe. Featured in the Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home , defeating it is out of the question as it is a massive, power-sucking, starship-disabling, and ocean-vaporizing craft that visited Earth in 2286 to contact members of the humpback whale species.

2. Xindi Probe

We can define this starship as a pure beam of destructive force. Seen in Star Trek: Enterprise, this Xindi Probe not only attacked Earth in the 22nd century but also successfully killed more than 7 million people from Florida to Venezuela leaving complete destruction in it’s wake.

Nomad starship was designed by Dr. Jackson Roykirk and served in the first part of the 21st century. It was created with two goals: to create a ship that could function as an accurate thinking machine while using logic and find new lifeforms in interstellar space. This powerful starship had the potential to clear out at least 4 billion people from four different planets. You can see how Captain Kirk and his team face it in the Star Trek TOS episode, The Changeling.

Hi all, just a reminder that ordering from the www.startrek-starships.com website is no guarantee that they have the product in stock or that you will get it.I ordered DS9 from it on 02-dec-2013 and I'm still being told NEARLY TWO MONTHS LATER thats it out of stock. After two months. Even though they make the product. Anyway go to other functioning shopping sites if you are ordering your models individually.

If you're dissatisfied you could always ask Eaglemoss to cancel your order and get it elsewhere as you suggest, Conor? If they have completely sold out, then they're probably waiting on another production run before they are even able to send them. Who knows at what time scale they can do that, but I doubt it's as simple as making them as and when they like, they likely have to do them in batches. Considering the Collection is expected to launch in multiple countries over time I'd image that means there's a better chance of older issues being able to get back-issues in stock as they do new runs for each territory's release.

Hi 8of5, Just to clarify. The website side DS9 was in stock. This was only 5 days after it came out after all. I put the order through and paid through Paypal. I checked my balance the following day and they had taken my money. They never sent the model. I then emailed them 4 weeks later asking where the DS9 is. And they said they are out of stock and I'd get it when it was available. And they don't know when that will be. I have now been waiting two months. All I'm saying it ordering from startrek-starships.com when the stock is available is no guarantee it IS available and you will actually get it. Yes I could cancel my order. But my original order was when DS9 was in many different websites at the same price. It would cost a FORTUNE now. As you said you'd think that since DS9 became available in America another batch would be created and I'd have my DS9 by now. But I'm still getting the "we don't know when stock will be available" runaround from customer service. And I'm just warning people to go to the alternative websites rather then startrek-starships.com. For their sanity.

Any news on the Aventine?

I'm still waiting for my replacement DS9 model. Mine came with a couple of the vertical spires broken in the box. I thought it was odd it rattled :( They said they would replace it, but it would take a while and still waiting. Also getting a little irritated by small errors. The Defiant's left nacelle pennant is backward...which people told them about long before it was released and never corrected. There is almost always at least 1 or 2 errors in each issue, the worst being the cover of the Excelsior issue. A little bit of proofreading and editing would be nice, especially for the price of these things.

Are you going to be doing any more Eaglemoss reviews? Seems like it kinda stalled out awhile back.

Fear not mcarp555, more reviews forthcoming, I've just not made the time for a few weeks, but I plan to do a big old catch up starting in the next week. Christopher, I agree the Defiant error is Very annoying! Matthew, no Aventine news yet, I imagine if we do get her it wont be until a expansion of the series beyond the initial 70 planned issues.

Looking forward to reading more! As for the Aventine, Is there really any push for ships only in novels? There are still ships that have appeared onscreen that have not been mentioned, like the Pasteur. Yeah, it's not pretty, but at least I've seen it. If you haven't read the novels the Aventine is mentioned in, would you want to buy it? I don't think I would. I'd prefer EM to stick to actually visualized craft (even if only for a screen grab!).

There have been quite a lot of requests for the Aventine, and a handful of other non-canon ships. The Collection's Facebook and Twitter have replied to the effect of: Maybe, one day. I certainly wouldn't expect any to turn up in the first 70 issues. I think three ships have a very small chance of getting in though: USS Titan - It is technically canon, in name, and is probably the most prominent non-canon ship design, starring in its own book series no less. USS Enterprise-F - If any STO original design is going to get the model treatment it will be an Enterprise. This design has had a lot of fanfare, and has a presence outside the game thanks to regular features in Star Trek Magazine. USS Aventine - Some way behind the other two as it's more obscure, but while it's only appeared in a few novels, it did star in the biggest novel event ever, Destiny. Plus it's a just a damned cool design, and it seems to have some love from the STO crowd.

Discovered this site soon after I started collecting these models. Love the reviews. Been following closely. Wondered what the early opinion is on the Stargazer? I had a close look and it doesn't match the one from the show! I did a quick search on the interweb and found some doug drexler orthographics that seem to match the model more than the one from the show. Wonder if anyone thinks the same? Still like it though :)

Glad you're enjoying Thoughts. I think the Stargazer is one of the more middle-ground ships in the series. It's overall a decent model, but the level of detailing is little inconsistent; could have done with a few more prints on the engineering section. Plus mine seems to rattle a bit!

Just as something different, wouldn't mind seeing Captain John Christopher's Lockheed F-104 Starfighter from the TOS episode "Tomorrow is Yesterday". Just a thought...

Hi, I am from germany. Eaglemoss is making very, very nice starships and Batmobiles, but are not very good organized. There are many customers with stories like "I never got what I have ordered" or "I had to wait too long" or "I am not sure, if I will ever get what I have bought". Eaglemoss´ phone / mail - service is very polite and tries to help, but after all I am just happy for every order that arrives. They are pretty - those starships!

Hi. Can you tell me where you get your release times from? I'm having serious issues sourcing these. The only local place that is still selling them is Forbidden Planet and for the last 3 ships, when i have called there on the release date listed on the site they are telling me that they actually received them a week earlier.

I do love this line of ships.

Does anyone know when they will release the special gifts such as the abrams enterprise to U.S subscribers? I know the other gift line such as future enterprise and borg cube are scheduled for much later dates but I really want my ds9 and abrams enterprise.

Personally, every interaction I have had with eaglemoss has been a nightmare. They have yet to meet a single commitment on the individual issues I ordered from the collection shop. I ordered seven ships that were listed as in stock, website stating only 3-5 days for delivery...That was over a month ago. Every email has resulted in a different response and every new ETA has passed. I finally received the K'tinga class last week and it was missing the acrylic stand. I called, they said they would have one out within the week, and that was 8 days ago. Fortunately a local comic dealer gets them from Diamond Distribution and keeps a file for me. I would suggest any other potential collector's do the same as most comic shop's offer a discount for setting up a file, and you can get this wonderful collection without the hassle of the horrid company that publishes it.

Has anyone received the bonus subscription ships, the future Enterprise and the Borg Cube? All I have got is excuses when I have contacted them.

I have mine from the local paper shop. Every fortnight without fail the models are there and the special issues. Try asking at your local shop if they can order for you.

We are yet to receive the Enterprise D future model after a year of trying. Always out of stock even though its a subscription. :(

I finally got my Future Enterprise but it doesn't come with book. I hope the USS Pasture includes info on the design of the Future Enterprise. There is one ship I have not seen any mention of and is my personal favorite "enemy ship"; the Husnock warship from the TNG episode "Survivor".

Hey any Canadian subscription owners had much trouble receiving ships. I just started and they told me Canada only has first 35 ships right now but assured me it will get more also they said we have no specials I really wanted ds9

Anybody heard if they're considering the Federation Class Dreadnought from the Starfleet Technical Manual by Franz Joseph? I'd just about kill for one of those!! I'd love to see ALL of those ships from the tech manual made into these models! Those would be a sure way to get me to finally make the move & subscribe!!

.....and ive just signed the petition for the Odyssey Class USS ENTERPRISE-F, But, couldnt the odyssey class ship just be made regardless of the petition and renamed something else (like USS Odyssey), otherwise its gonna take ages to get 5000 signatures and to create the model itself causing a load of fuss!

I didn't get issues 50 or 51 and i have called them about it 4 times now. Each time they just go hmm, that strange, you should have got it by now, then they tell me they are showing in stock but may not actually be and that they will order them for me again. They tell me if i haven't got them by such and such a date to call back, but as said i have done that 4 times now and it's the same each time. The next couple didn't come either, but when i called about those ones and they resent them i actually received those ones about a fortnight after i should have originally for them. I think their customer service is terrible. They are polite and all, but seem completely and utterly unable to offer any help beyond telling you to call back again and again. Seriously considering cancelling my subscription.

I hear you. Hands down the worst customer service i have ever experienced. They'll happily keep taking your money, but not so keen on actually sending out the products you have ordered. Call them up, and they haven't a clue as to what has occurred. I was told issue 50 was was re-posted to me 4 times before i actually received it, 3 months late. Oh they're very nice and apologetic about it, but they never seem to do what they have assured you they would. My latest 2 issues are now nearly 2 weeks late. I have been trying to call them about it all week, but they have a new trick with their phone it would seem. Every day this week i have called them at 6.30pm only to be greeted by a recorded message stating that they are closed and their opening hours are 9am to 8pm. Umm, what? last i checked, 6.30pm is EARLIER than 8pm!! Can't explain that at all. I have called them several times at after 7pm. Sadly, they have me by the.....because i really like the collection and want to complete it. Ebay is no use because as is usually the case with collecting 'geek' memorabilia a bunch of assholes buy up as many as they can get their hands on and sell them for ridiculously overpriced amounts. I have seen ships listed as buy it now for £30 quid. I'm not sure they are worth the £10 they currently cost (soon to be £11) never mind £30+.

Like Gavin Montague I've had trouble with deliveries but have found emailing them works better than calling. I went two months with no deliveries then six items turned up on the same day. Also, I have just seen the SPECIAL EDITION ISS ENTERPRISE MIRROR (mentioned above) complete with MU1 MAG being advertised for sale on Ebay, before it's even been announced at $82 or £53(approx) seller seems sure of release since there is a waiting time for a buy it now item! I finally received the Future Enerprise D about a month ago but still waiting for the Borg Cube. I can't understand why they started selling on their website (and now out of stock) before giving it to their existing subscribers. I'm sure I'm not the only one still waiting for it.

Baldrick - The link you've supplied is for the 'crap' Borg cube we got here in the UK. I don't see the Japanese cube listed.

For the most part the level of detail and craftsmanship is most excellent. Most models have amazing detail however some lack that detail as if whoever did it was rushed or didn't have detailed knowledge and left important details out. I hope they continue to release more ships especially from the books. I would really love to see the Achilles class battle cruiser the one with the broadside of quantum torpedoes. Also I think that making the series to scale would have been totally amazing. I understand you couldn't make a Borg cube and runabout to scale but mayb in groups like small ships and shuttles on one scale. Capital ships on another scale and large stations Borg cubes to another scale. Models being in scale makes their display together all that pre dramatic.

"left important details out." The Ambassador class is missing it's impulse engines. I don't mean they forgot to pain them, i mean they didn't put impulse engines on the model at all!

Is anyone else getting royally sick of them downright wasting the specials on the crappy ships from the Abramsverse? Personally, i think the specials should have been all the Enterprises, and other 'hero' ships such as the Defiant or Voyager.

hughe1971 if you are a subscriber, like myself, and are not getting the recent models I would suggest contacting them to check whether your payments have gone through properly with them. My brother subscribes to the Doctor Who collection and a few months ago one of his payments didn't go through properly and so they stopped sending them to him without getting in touch with him quickly enough so he is now waiting for the back issues to still be sent out to him.

Has Ben commented anywhere about the Japanese Borg Cube petition passing its require signatures? I see he's confirmed more about Titan coming, but I haven't seen acknowledgement anywhere yet that there's something in the works for the reissue of the DeAgostini Borg Cube.

Did he ever mentioned the borg cube petition? I don't think so. All he wrote was "no" to a possible release outside Japan. The Titan is confirmed. They are already working on the model.

That was my question, to which you responded that it looked like he didn't even know of it, when he obviously had to (as I showed). The "no" you mention, was the reason why the Titan petition was started. I'm sure Ben said "no" to the Titan too...at least before that petition became successful. They are only working on the model now due to the success of that petition. Since the Cube petition prompted the Titan one, and, now , since it is successful too , there's no reason not to expect the same, hence my question. So, has Ben responded to it anywhere yet? I'd love to hear he has...and of course with good news as well. :)

Hello All, Also have delivery problems with EAGLEMOSS in France. I've bought the DEFIANT set 2 months later. The Set is still available on french eaglemoss website, and shipping delays around 7/10 days. And for moment still never received it.... That's pity but i will ask Paypal to return me money. i've had decent customer service from eaglemoss usa, but my gripe is with shipping. i have received what i believe to be my fair share of broken or otherwise damaged models. seems like every other month i get something that needs to be replaced. they do replace it, and usually pretty quickly, but better to package better.

Here in Australia - we have 8 books not in binders, making then 4 months behind with binders. Issue 53 is MIA (they continued to supply issues 54 and 55 with no update on what's going on. Its a subscription service right, they know how many they need right? They haven't been able to verify if we are even going beyond the initial 70 ships yet. They don't respond to emails. Nice collection - service drives you crazy.

Hi everyone. I am a subscriber in the US. I was getting everything fine until around issue 40. I believe this is when they opened offices in the US. Since this time every magazine that has arrived has been damaged. Corners are bent the edges are worn. I have talked to and emailed customer service numerous times. They sent some replacement issues but those where also damaged. I am still waiting on there response from my last email that was sent to the US and UK customer support. I am on issue 61 right now. I have not received any additional binders, which customer service said was now included in subscription. I am disappointed that they plan on milking the run past 70. I will probably drop it after issue 70 comes along. It is very expensive and had planned on a 70 issue run, not 110 or however many they think they can make. The models themselves are good but as others have noted there are errors.

I agree bisset mags drive me nuts i got my 53 becuase i was getting them thorugh a newsagent because of there service but have had to go back im missing issue 51 not very happy with the newsagent it apperently never got loaded on the truck but i live in hope as for the binders dont even get me started ordered some way back last year and still no sign of them

I enjoy the issues I get. They do replace things that are damaged for the US Postal service that is pretty rough with the packages. If you did not receive something they do get on it right away for any mistakes. The only thing that is annoying is the packaging or lack of that they use to make sure the items do not break or books get bent up. I expect high quality and in mint condition when Items are received. You guys just need to package things a lot better and you will not have to be sending replacement every time due to poor protection and packaging. I am happy other wise with what I have and look forward to others that are coming.🇺🇸😀

I stopped their service about two years ago mostly because I was going overseas. But I decided to try again and saw all the comments again. The models are at best mediocre and yes. I have had several come to me broken. They could be better in detail and material and definatly not worth what they are being charged. After seeing all the reviews here I will not renew my subscription with them. Disappointing because I really wanted to collect all the models. Is there anywhere else that someone can purchase these models?

I was hoping for dagra's ship, he was almost a main character in Enterprise series 3. His ship was in quite a few episodes. Way more than some of the ships we have already. Also Dagra was the leader of the Xindi and in the end helped Archer stop the weapon from being used to destroy earth. I asked eaglemoss if they where going to do it, they said no!!!! Im a bit disapointed with that, but such is life......

When will this collection end? I dont have unlimited space for all of them to showcase. I thought i was buying 70 which tbh is more than enough, i now have 100+ more than i originally thought i would.

The collection finishes at issue 180.

A pity they didn't deliver on the promised BoBW Cube and a few other long-desired models. Hopefully another licensee will produce a Cube of the same quality as DeAgostini or better to finally fill the void of the missing Eaglemoss one.

Hi, my brother was a sci fi fan, he collected the die cast models from the magazines. Sadly he passed away in June and there is a cabinet with about 20-30 models. Are these still collectible and if so how best to sell. The money will be going to charity.

The Complete Guide to Star Trek's Constitution Class Starships

Did you know that the original Star Trek TV show had 79 episodes? Even more interesting, the Star Trek franchise consists of 12 different TV series, each featuring various ships.

If you're a Star Trek fan, then you may be wondering about the Constitution Class starships seen in the show and what some of the most iconic ships in its Starfleet were. This article covers the Constitution Classes first run of "United Space Ships". 

Queen of the Fleet First Run of the Constitution Class Starships

The Constitution Class Starships first class consists of the USS Constellation NCC-1017, USS Constitution NCC-1700, USS Endeavour NCC-1895, and the famous USS Enterprise NCC-1701. Here's a brief breakdown of each ship.

USS Constellation NCC-1017

The Constellation NCC-1017 was launched in 2245. This was under Captain Matthew Decker's command. This ship was used to complete five missions, and, in 2263, when Decker was promoted to commodore, he stayed on as the ship's commander.

The Constellation NCC-1017's crew of 400 came into contact with various destroyed star systems on Stardate 4202.1 of the year 2267. The ship was known for its investigation into a heavy subspace interference later named the "Doomsday Machine"

USS Constitution NCC-1700

The Constitution NCC-1700 was classified as part of the Class I Heavy Cruiser Federation Starship class. Constitution ships were known as the premier frontline of Starfleet vessels and were primarily used in the second half of the 23rd century.

The Constitution NCC-1700 was among a fleet of ships designed for the sole purpose of long-duration excursions and patrol missions that required little outside support. Some best-known missions could operate on a five-year cycle.

USS Endeavour NCC-1895

Starfleet's 23rd-century Federation Constitution class ship was the USS Endeavour NCC-1895. In the year 2298, this ship embarked upon a deep space exploration mission. A Starship Mission Assignments chart named it on the USS Enterprise-A bridge.

Later in the year 2293, this ship was named one of the Sector 21166-8 ships in the command briefing for "Operation Retrieve."

USS Enterprise NCC-1701

The USS Enterprise NCC-1701 was part of the Federation Constitution-class starships in the 23rd century, operated by Starfleet. This was the first starship in the federation to feature the name "Enterprise." This ship's years of service were from 2245 to 2285, where it remained a training vessel until 2285 when it was destroyed over the Genesis planet.

For Star Trek ship ranking, the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 E was considered to be the most technologically advanced starship to date.

The USS Constellation

The USS Constellation class of ships range from the Essex NCC-1697 to the Defiant NCC-1764.

Let's take a look at the brief history of each ship..

USS Essex NCC-1697

The Essex NCC-1697 is part of Starfleet's Federation starships in the 23rd century. It was an unnamed ship that eventually had a layover in 2267 at Starbase 11.

A star chart indicated the ship's number and its repair status, and it was identified by its hull number.

USS Excalibur NCC-1664

The Excalibur NCC-1664 was used during the 23rd century as a Federation Constitution-class starship. It was commanded by Captain Harris in 2268.

The ship completed a series of fleet war games in 2268 where a total of four starships competed against the USS Enterprise. The Excaliber suffered significant damage and all hands were lost.

USS Exeter NCC-1706

The Exeter NCC-1706 was part of the Constitution class's initial batch of starships. It was ordered on stardate 0965 for Starfleet. It later earned a new registry number of NCC-1672.

USS Farragut NCC-1647

The Farragut NCC-1647 was a heavy cruiser and part of the Federation Constitution class in the 23rd century, servicing Starfleet.

It was initially used as early as 2247 and was under Captain Nechama Rabin's command.

USS Hood NCC-1703

The Hood NCC-1703, occasionally called the NCC-1707, was a heavy cruiser and part of the Federation Constitution class. It was used by Starfleet during the 23rd century. On stardate 1/9307, the ship was commissioned and launched. Its construction was authorized on 0965.

USS Hornet NCC-1868

Captain Leedson commanded The Hornet NCC-1868. They were sent to the USS Pompeii and the USS Enterprise to regain control of the USS Star Empire, which had been stolen.

During this battle, the Hornet was damaged and surrendered when the Pompeii was ultimately destroyed.

USS Intrepid NCC-1631

The Constitution class's initial batch included The Intrepid NCC-1631. It was authorized to be appropriated by Starfleet with a stardate of 0965.

Its original registry number was NCC-1708. The Vulcans built this ship to MK I, and she entered service eventually with a stardate of 1/8804.

USS Kongo NCC-1710

The USS Kongo NCC-1710 was part of the Constitution-class starship's first batch. These ships were authorized by the Starfleet appropriation and had a stardate of 0965.

This ship was later built to the specifications of Mark II.

USS Lexington NCC-1709

The Lexington NCC-1709 was a Federation starship in the 23rd century. This heavy cruiser was a Constitution class and used as part of Starfleet services. It had a layover in 2267 at Starbase 11, and the ship's registry was later charted as having had several vessels repaired.

USS Potemkin NCC-1657

The USS Potemkin NCC-1657 was also part of the Federations fleet of starships during the 23rd century. This heavy cruiser was part of the Constitution class with a registry number of NCC-1711.

This is according to the Star Fleet's Technical Manual. However, the ship is listed as NCC-1702 in the FASA RPG series.

USS Republic NCC-1371

The USS Republic NCC-1371 was a heavy cruiser and part of the Federation Constitution class commissioned to serve Starfleet. This was during the 23rd century.

The ship eventually served as a training vessel for the Starfleet Academy by the year 2251. Captain Rollin Bannock commanded it.

USS Valiant NCC-1623

The Valiant NCC-1623 is one of the most famous ships, with a legacy dating back to the 20th century. It was originally known as a killer submarine and battleship. However, once humanity progressed to the stars, the Valiant pushed forward and evolved. 

USS Yorktown NCC-1717

The USS Yorktown NCC-1717 was a heavy cruiser with the Constitution class heavy cruiser. it was part of the Starfleet services and on active duty in the 23rd century's second half. Its original registry with the Star Fleet Technical Manual was NCC-1704.

USS Eagle NCC-956

The USS Eagle NCC-956 was a Constitution-class Federation starship and considered a Bonhomme Richard subclass. This heavy cruiser was part of the 23rd century and services Starfleet.

This ship was known for being illustrious and highly decorated and had a crew that consisted solely of Andorians.

USS Defiant NCC-1764

The last Federation Constitution-class starship was the USS Defiant NCC-1764. It was operated by Starfleet and was one of three ships that would be called "Defiant."

The Defiant was later named in honor of the HMA Defiant, a British warship. This took place at Tranquility Base on Luna.

Star Trek Constitution Class Starships

Now that you know more about the Star Trek Constitution Class starships, including the Constitution Class's first run of starships and the ships in the USS Constellation class, you can understand why each ship was equally important when in use. The operation of a starship covers various key mechanics. Notably, the innate stats of your starship, your subsystem power allocation and your loadout.

The following basic stats outline the innate combat strength of a starship:

• Hull: This is the overall health of your starship, and refers to the actual body of the ship itself. Once the shields have been drained from a certain area, any damage to that area results in damage to the hull. Most shields have a "Bleedthrough" percentage, which is the amount of damage from any enemy's weapons that cause damage to the hull instead of the shields.
• Fore/Rear/Right/Left Shields: These are the first line of defense for your starship. Shields are energy barriers placed around your ship to repel enemy fire and take the brunt of the damage initially. Once your shields are down around a certain area, any damage there will directly affect the Hull. Shields also have a "Bleedthrough" rating; if the Bleedthrough rate is 10%, then 100 Phaser Damage to your shields will result in 10 Phaser Damage directly to your Hull.
• Crit Chance: This is the chance that each shot you take has of critically damaging the target. The modifier for Crit Chance is [CrtH].
• Crit Severity: This is the amount of damage that a Crit shot does. If the Crit Chance is 5% and Crit Severity is 75%, then you have a 5% chance, with each shot, of doing 175% total damage to the enemy vessel. The modifier for Crit Severity is [CrtD]. It should be noted that this damage bonus applies at the same time as other bonuses, which may lead to you not seeing the full increase noted.
• Inertia: This is a number that determines how sluggish your ship is to respond, for example, while turning. The lower your Inertia rating, the slower your ship is while turning. Cruisers , for example, have low Inertia ratings, which make for low turn rates, and low maneuverability. Escorts on the other hand, have high Inertia ratings, making for high turn rates and maneuverability. Science Vessels typically fall somewhere in the middle.
• Resist: Your starship has a number of resistance types, which indicates how resistant it is to certain types of damage (e.g. Physical, Kinetic, Phaser, Tetryon).

The following stats were removed in 2015:

• Crew Complement: This is the maximum number of crewmembers (non-Bridge Officers) that can serve aboard your vessel. Your Crew count affects hull and subsystem repair rate, as well as the effectiveness of boarding parties, the engineering team and crew-based skills your captain may have. Certain types of damage will temporarily injure Crew. Your current Crew count is indicated by a row of white figures below your Shields/Hull UI (injured crew are yellow-orange, disabled crew are grey).
• Crew Recovery Rate: This is the number of Crew that will recover per second.
• Alive Crew: This is the number of Crew members that are currently alive.

Similar to Bridge Officer stations, different ships have varying room for special modifications that can be added to the ship to increase its effectiveness. Similar to slotted gems in other games, mods provide small passive bonuses that affect game play and can be interchanged at will.

The differentiation isn't just between the Escort/Cruiser/Science categories; each individual configuration offers disparate settings for players to choose between.

• Fore Weapons - These weapons fire from the front, usually within a certain arc width. For example, 45°-arc fore weapons fire in a 45-degree cone area in front of your ship. All Ship Weapons other than mines can be placed here. Turrets were originally excluded, but are now allowed to be placed in the fore weapons slots.
• Deflector - Ship Deflector Dishes can be inserted here.
• Secondary Deflector - Most Science vessels (those that have both Sensor Analysis and Subsystem Targeting) can install a Secondary Deflector ; other ship types do not have this slot.
• Shields - Ship Shields go here.
• Warp Core - a Warp Core (on Federation or Klingon Ships) or Singularity Core (on Warbirds) goes here.
• Impulse - Any one of a number of Impulse Engines can go here.
• Aft Weapons - These weapons fire from the aft, or rear, of your starship. Any weapon other than cannons and dual beam banks can be placed here.
• Experimental Weapons - Experimental Weapons are available to Tier 5-6 Raiders and those with a Tactical Commander seat, 7 weapons, and 1 or fewer Hangar Bays.
• Devices - Any Ship Devices can be inserted here. To use them, drag them to your shortcut bar while in space.
• Engineering Consoles - Engineering Consoles go here.
• Science Consoles - Science Consoles go here.

Tier 5, Tier 6 and many Zen Store Tier 1-4 ships come with a unique Universal Console (which can be put in any console slot). These consoles can sometimes be used on any ship, or often only ships of the same type. Typically, consoles from similar ships have synergies granting bonuses when the player slots them together.

All starships have a number of bridge officer stations permitting each officer to use 1 to 4 of their abilities. The higher tier starships offer more seats with higher ranking abilities than lower tier starships. The starship has access to the space traits of any bridge officer who is slotted, regardless of how many slots they have.

Tier 1-5 starships have seats classified as Engineering, Science, Tactical and Universal; the latter being a seat that can sit an officer of any of the main three careers . Tier 6 starships have access to specializations : namely that some seats on each ship will be combined of one of the four main options listed above and a specialization such as Intelligence Officer and Miracle Worker. An Engineer/Intelligence Bridge Officer Seat can seat an Engineer, but if that officer has been trained in the Intelligence specialization then they may use Intelligence powers in place of some or all of their standard Engineering powers.

Subsystems for a starship are split into four sections: Weapons, Engines, Shields and Auxiliary. These subsystems share an overall basic amount of 200 subsystem power that all starships have, and increasing the power level of one subsystem will reduce it in another. Players are able to use presets to quickly reconfigure the ships power levels to focus on specific areas or balance power between more than one subsystem, even whilst in combat.

The highest a player can manually set any of their subsystems is 100. The lowest a player can set these systems is 15. The exception to this rule is running at Full Impulse which will lower all systems except engines to 5.

Starship Mastery

Each Tier 5-U or Tier 6 starship has its own "levels", called Mastery. Starship Mastery progresses as a character earns skill points while using a specific ship in combat (end-of-mission rewards do not apply). Levels 1 through 4 each unlock a passive bonus which is only active while flying that specific ship. The bonuses are specific for each ship type, e.g., Science Vessels , Warbirds , Birds-of-Prey . Tier 6 non-fleet ships also have a 5th mastery level which unlocks a Starship Trait . Different ships unlock different traits, of which 4 to 5 can be used at any one time by the player, regardless of the ship they are flying.

A ship's capabilities are largely defined by its tier, which determines the number of bridge officer stations, the rank of those stations, the number of console slots, and other factors. Except for Tier 6, that can be played from tutorial through to endgame, specific tiers are intended to be played at a particular rank and cease to become competitive beyond it.

The current highest tier in the game, Tier 6 ships are a moderate improvement over Tier 5 starships, featuring additional console slots, bridge officer abilities, and scaling hull strength. They also come with a unique ship costume, a unique Universal Console , and can be played from level 1 (with its capabilities scaling up as the player increases in rank).

Compared to a Tier 5-U version of the same hull, the Tier 6 version will have the same hull strength and other hull-related stats, and console slots, but one more bridge officer ability, one or more bridge officer specialization seatings, and a Starship Trait as its fifth Starship Mastery level. Like T5-U ships, T6 ships can be upgraded to T6-X with an [ Experimental Ship Upgrade Token ] , which grants them the same additional benefits.

Each faction has unique types of ships that favor different styles of gameplay. Generally, there is one type of ship for each type of career, but a player character can captain any type of vessel, regardless of their career choice. Below is a list of each type of ship, and their (endgame) capabilities, though there are a few ships that don't follow this template exactly. A ship's type also dictates its Starship Mastery package . Many ship designs come in different versions. While their outward appearance might be mostly identical, they may vary substantially in combat strength according to their Tier.

• Cruisers have a Commander Engineering Bridge Officer slot, access to Cruiser Commands , and are generally more durable and less maneuverable than other types of ship. Endgame Cruisers can equip eight weapons, most often evenly distributed between Fore and Aft.
• Escorts and Raptors have a Commander Tactical Bridge Officer slot, the ability to use Dual Cannons , and are generally more fragile but the most maneuverable vessels available to you. Endgame Escorts can equip seven weapons, more Fore than Aft, and can also equip an Experimental Weapon .
• Science Vessels have a Commander Science Bridge Officer slot, the ability to equip a Secondary Deflector , and access to Sensor Analysis and some built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities to help provide support. Endgame Science Vessels can equip six weapons, most often evenly distributed between Fore and Aft.
• Carriers are exclusively available at the endgame level, and have two hangar bays from which they may launch fighters, shuttles, runabouts or even frigates to combat their enemies. These large and slow vessels can come in Engineering, Tactical or Science Varieties, which determine their Commander Bridge Officer slot and weapon hardpoints.
• Dreadnoughts are also exclusively available at the endgame level, and have a hangar bay (or two). Like Carriers, they tend to be larger and slower and come in different varieties; see below for specific examples.
• Warbirds They equip Singularity Cores instead of matter-antimatter warp cores, and all have access to Singularity Core abilities . All warbirds may equip dual cannons.

While there are are many varieties of the above classes available at the endgame, there are also several variations on these basic ship classifications, some available more early on:

• Battle Cruisers , which lose the ability to Attract Fire and often a device slot in exchange for the ability to equip Dual Cannons.
• Dreadnought Cruisers , which have both a hangar bay and the ability to equip Dual Cannons, but again only two Cruiser Commands.
• Flight Deck Carriers , Cruiser-Carrier hybrids with two hangar bays, but only two Cruiser Commands.
• Heavy Dreadnought Cruisers , a variant of Dreadnought Cruisers with a second hangar bay, bringing them up to Carrier-tier capabilities.
• Frigate , an Engineering-focused variant of the Raider.
• Strike Wing Escorts and Flight Deck Raptors , which are enhanced with a hangar bay.
• Destroyers , which are more durable and gain an extra device slot in exchange for the loss of some maneuverability.
• Warships , a subset of Destroyers which exchange the Experimental Weapon slot for an eighth standard weapon.

• Power bonuses vary considerably. For a given type of ship, every single member may have a different power configuration, such as with Warships and Multi-Mission Science Explorers. There are too many to enumerate here. See individual ship type pages and ship pages to compare them.

• Federation Raiders are known as "Light Escorts", such as the T6 Shran Light Pilot Escort and its fleet variant .

Anomalous bridge officer or console layouts:

• Some starships with a Commander Engineering bridge officer seat have 5 Tactical console slots despite this normally being restricted to starships with a Commander Tactical seat.
• Likewise, some starships with a Commander Tactical bridge officer seat have 5 Engineering console slots despite this normally being restricted to starships with a Commander Engineering seat. This includes the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier when upgraded to T5-U.

• The T1 Oberth -class Light Science Vessel does not possess the built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities possessed by other Science Vessels.
• Some T6 pure Science Vessels have the ability to equip dual cannons, which most others lack:
• The T6 Eclipse Intel Cruiser and its fleet variant are Battlecruisers , despite their names.
• The T6 Hur'q Vedcrid Hive Dreadnought Carrier has all the characteristics of a Dreadnought Carrier except its Commander bridge officer seat is Engineering instead of Tacical
• The T6 Sphere Builder Edoulg Science Vessel is a Multi-Mission Science Vessel rather than a standard Science Vessel.

Purchasing Starships

Starships can be purchased with a number of different currencies, and several ships can be obtained for free. Extra ship and Dry Dock slots can be bought in the Zen Store. A single character can have a maximum of 50 ships but many more dry dock slots are obtainable.

Free starships

The Kobali Samsar Cruiser was originally an event giveaway, and is now available via the Phoenix Prize Pack.

Characters are assigned a tier 1 ship to command after completing the tutorial mission. At levels 20, 30 and 40 (players gain one rank for every ten character levels) players receive a token for a free ship of successively increasing tier, up to Tier 5.

At Tier 5 and 6, further free ships can still be found during special events , such as the summer Lohlunat Festival and Q's Winter Wonderland . Some may also be part of special giveaways.

Dilithium and Zen

Additional ships cost Dilithium or Zen from the shipyard or Zen Store. Tier 5 and 6 ships become available from level 50. Tier 5 ships can sometimes be upgraded to Tier 5U. These special upgradable T5 ships can then be upgraded using an upgrade token purchased with Zen from the Zen Store.

Fleet Credits

Fleet ships require Fleet Credits and Fleet Ship Modules; these are available for cash from the Zen Store or for EC on the Exchange. Active subscribers who have received the 600 day Veteran Reward , including all lifetime subscribers, receive a 'VA Token' that allows them to purchase a single RA/BG or VA/LG ship for free.

Lock and Promotional Boxes

Lock Boxes , Promotion! - Research & Development Packs and Phoenix Prize Packs all contain a chance to win a free starship. However it is important to understand the low chances of success when buying these packs and keys with Zen or Dilithium.

Many ships mentioned above which are no bind-on-pickup can be found on the Exchange for varying prices in Energy Credits.

Customization

They are highly customizable, both cosmetically and functionally. Visiting shipyards will allow players to change all aspects of their ships. Each ship tier includes multiple classes of ships. Players can choose different parts (saucer, hull, nacelles etc.) of each class making a custom model, or stick with a set design. Along with the model the player can also adjust the color, windows, decals, registry number and prefix, which gives the player a custom feel to his/her ship.

Each time a player acquires a new ship they are allowed to edit aspects of the ship once for free. Each subsequent change will cost Energy Credits, depending on the change made. This includes exterior appearance, bridge and corridors.

To make changes to their ship, players must visit a shipyard. There are multiple shipyards in-game and they are found at all the major hubs such as Qo'noS for the Klingon Defense Force and the Earth Spacedock for Starfleet . A common list of items that can be edited on a ship are:

For certain starships, if the character owns a different version of a similar starship then they can use parts of both when customizing a ship. For example, if the player owned the Scimitar Dreadnought Warbird (T5) and the Shamshir Operations Dreadnought Warbird (T6) , then they could use some or all of the parts from the Scimitar in customizing the look of the Shamshir.

Material Types

Materials were usually designated "Ship Name" or "Type <number>". In addition to a ship's default material options, other materials could become available when the player gets access to other, specific ships. For example, the Epoch -class Aeon material became available to the commanding officer of a Wells -class ship if they owned both vessels.

Visual Slots

Certain starship equipment, such as shields or impulse engines, can alter the appearance of a starship. Aside from equipping them in the usual slots, they can also be put into visual slots to override any visuals from the standard equipment. Alternatively, the visuals of slotted equipment can be disabled from the right click menu of that equipment.

With the rise of adult animation, such as Rick and Morty , on streaming services, it may surprise many Star Trek fans that their adult animated show has been canceled by Paramount +.

However, there is some good news about the show.

Season 5 will still be released, the show's final season.

Many fans of the show and Star Trek fans do not understand why Paramount + has decided to cancel the show as the Star Trek universe seems to be on the rise.

We'll explore why.

What is Star Treks: Lower Decks Animated Show?

Before we examine why the Star Trek: Lower Decks animated show was canceled, let's talk about what it is about and how it fits into the whole Star Trek lore.

Star Trek: Lower Decks takes place in the year 2380, around ten years after the Next Generation series ended in the Star Trek universe.

It's named after one of the episodes from Star Trek: The Next Generation and focuses on one of Starfleet's least essential starships, the USS Cerritos.

The USS Cerritos was a 24th-century Federation starship that was a second contact and support ship. Captain Carol Freeman (Daenn Lewis) was the ship's captain. 

Star Trek: Lower Decks focuses on the support crew of the USS Cerritos.

There is Ensign Marniner (Tawny Newsome), Ensign Brad Boilmer ( Jack Quaid ), and Engisn Tendi (Noel Wells).

The show follows the crew as they deal with anomalies and situations but with more adult humor.

It also has well-known Star Trek actors such as George Takei, Wil Wheaton, Marina Sirtis, and Jonathan Frakes .

There are also other quite famous guest stars and recurring voice actors who join the list of characters on the deck of the USS Cerritos throughout the show.

Why Was 'Star Trek: Lower Decks' Canceled?

Even with the star-studded list of voice actors and guest stars lending their voices to the show, Paramount+ will cancel it after the next season.

This cancelation from Paramount+ may follow the trend of networks and streaming services canceling adult-themed cartoons for various reasons. 

Adult animations or adult-themed cartoons used to be edgy with witty and adult-geared humor that distanced themselves from kid cartoons .

These shows presented more opportunities for more imagination with fewer budget restrictions. 

For example, an entire armada space battle is far easier to animate than produce with live-action. 

So, why was it canceled? 

If you look closely at the animation style of these shows, such as Lower Decks, Inside Job, Solar Opposites, and Hoops, they all copy or are influenced by Adult Swim's Rick and Morty Show.

This may be because studios know fans are familiar with the art style, and clearly, it's a popular option. 

You can also see this trend in other successful adult cartoons that copy the Simpsons, like Family Guy and American Dad.

The reason for cancelation for the cancellation also encompasses these other tender points. 

Firstly, Star Trek: Lower Decks is a departure from other Trek shows of the past, which were monologue-heavy and had serious tones, like Deep Space Nine. 

This animated show is more slapstick, like Rick and Morty. 

Secondly, much of the fan base is older. With Star Trek being a legacy brand, its fan base is primarily adults who had difficulty connecting with the show's ADHD-esque presentation.

The animated series didn't grab critics attention like other shows, even though the reviews it did receive were good. It has a 92% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

However, lackluster viewing times and a fan base who were not ready for this new Star Trek show surely helped along its cancellation.

Star Treks: Lower Decks was a big step forward for the franchise to tread some new ground -- a step that Paramount+ and Star Trek fans didn't want to take. 

Star Trek's Future in Animation

It is not all doom and gloom regarding Paramount+ and animated shows.

The studio may be afraid to continue its adult-style animated show, but it has a second animated Star Trek show on Netflix.

The show is called Star Trek: Prodigy and is meant for kids. This may be great for some older fans, but it can feel slightly weird watching children-themed shows as the storylines are very basic and very much for kids.

Even Star Trek: Prodigy, which started on Nickelodeon, had a tough time finding its footing before its move to Netflix.

You can not fault Paramount+ for taking the risk of making an adult-themed Star Trek show.

But it is safe to say the Star Trek universe is in safe hands with the current set of heavy-hitting albeit live-action shows such as the now-completed Picard series, Strange New Worlds, and the upcoming Starfleet Academy show.

But it would be nice to get a new, more mature, animated Star Trek show to enjoy. It doesn't need to be a show about vulgar topics; it just needs to have a bit more mature and adult comedy in it.

So whether you are upset or not about the cancelation of Star Trek: Lower Decks animated series, it can also allow other new Star Trek shows to come out.

Plus, who knows if Paramount+ may bring back the show if it sees a demand.

Star Trek Universe: The Official Starships Collection

Star Trek Universe: The Official Starships Collection is a British partwork magazine and product line, conceived along the exact same lines as its two immediate predecessors Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection and Star Trek: Discovery The Official Starships Collection , that premiered in March 2021 [1] and was published by Eaglemoss Collections under its Hero Collector imprint.

The line was available to the UK, EU, and US, being marketed in a number of other countries as well. Subscriptions were available to select countries, [2] and products were widely retailed by the company's international webshops and other retailers.

Each issue includes a sixteen-page magazine (measuring 168 × 217 mm [3] ) and a 150 to 240 mm-long hand-painted [4] scaled replica of a starship from Star Trek: Picard and/or Star Trek: Strange New Worlds .

Also featuring vessels from Star Trek: Discovery as part of its scope, this line superseded the prior Discovery Starships Collection [5] , and was expected to grow to encompass future Star Trek projects that were concurrently in production. This was in compliance with the " Star Trek Universe "-concept the franchise had instituted earlier that year as part of the 55th anniversary celebrations, and Eaglemoss became the first Star Trek merchandise manufacturer to adhere to the (mandatory) concept by making it part of the name of their new collection.

Received directly from the shows' VFX teams, production-used CGI studio models were adapted for use as printable 3D miniatures (and for 2D renders in the magazines) and converted into CAD files by Fabio Passaro 's Meshweaver Productions , under the supervision of Eaglemoss' Development Manager, John Ainsworth. [24]

Cast in ABS and die-cast metal , a number of starship designs were reproduced here (as miniatures) for the first time by any manufacturer.

Once again, Ben Robinson was the senior manager of the project and a co-author and co-editor of the accompanying magazines, which currently bore the (sub-)titles, Star Trek: Picard The Official Starships Collection and Star Trek: Discovery The Official Starships Collection .

Gift premiums had been released to subscribers and larger Special Edition starship and figurine models were scheduled. Additionally, XL Edition models of some popular "hero ships" from the aforementioned Star Trek shows were available in the Official Starships Collection .

A number of starship profile articles from this series were also published in the second edition of the Star Trek: Shipyards - Starfleet Ships 2294 to the Future reference book .

A sister publication of the Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection , Star Trek: The Next Generation Build The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D , and Star Trek Online Starships Collection lines, it was authorized and licensed by Paramount Consumer Products .

On 12 July 2022 , the collection came to a sudden and unexpected halt, when the company was forced to cease its business activities under the UK Insolvency Act – meaning a company is no longer able to pay off its debts. [25] [6] Bankruptcy was declared on 5 August 2022 . [26] The remainder stock was eventually acquired by (new) Master Replicas , who started to resell individual issues on a piecemeal basis on their own revived website from April 2023 onward, until the left-over stock was depleted.

Unrealized planned issues [ ]

Assets for the following issues were already in the initial stages of pre-production for a planned 2022 and beyond release, [28] but cancelled [11] nonetheless due to the 5 August 2022 bankruptcy of Eaglemoss Collections.

Special Edition Figurine issues [ ]

March 2022, the first 'Special Edition Figurine - Spock (Ethan Peck) Figurine' of the Collection was added to the company UK and EU webstores for pre-order with a targeted release of April 2022. It is the first in the collection to have a Digital only magazine which is accessed via the QR code within the packaging. The figurines are scaled: 1:10.

Characters from the modern Star Trek TV series Discovery , Picard , and Strange New World were slated to become part of the Special Edition Figurines, before the collection was cut short by the August 2022 bankruptcy.

Bonus Edition issues [ ]

On 16 November 2021, the first two "Bonus Editions" of the Collection were added to the company UK and EU webstores, after one of them debuted at Destination Star Trek London between 12-14 October 2021. It concerned two Inquiry -class sister vessels of the USS Zheng He , the USS Varian Fry and the USS Maui ( β ), both assumed to be part of the fleet that forced the Romulans into a stand-off in " Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2 ", the first season finale of Star Trek: Picard , even though this had not been confirmed onscreen, prior to Varian Fry 's canon appearances in Picard 's third season . Each model came with its own individual livery deco and was retailed with the same generic Inquiry -class magazine as gift issue USS Toussaint (listed below ). The releases for the European webstores were limited to 200 copies each. [29] (X) [30] (X) They were added to the US webstore on 30 November 2021 as shop exclusive limited editions.

Pin badge set [ ]

First previewed as a forthcoming retail product through the company's US webshop in early 2021, this set is also distributed as a gift premium.

Limited Edition prints [ ]

The line's first Limited Edition print began to ship to UK subscribers in July 2021 and is limited to 850 copies. EU subscribers began to receive the print between issues 4 and 5, in an edition limited to 3500 copies. [14] The second print was released along similar lines in November 2021, though this time around limited to 570 copies for the UK and 2500 for the EU. A third print was released on 10 March 2022.

Each 30 × 40 cm (including the border around the 19.5 × 26.5 cm image) print's artwork was created by DIS starship designer Ryan Dening , and is reproduced on 310 gsm Hahnemühle German Etching paper, also including a Certificate of Authenticity.

The subscriber email announcement claims of being subscriber "exclusives", was somewhat watered down when all three prints, now called "Giclee Art Print[s]", became offered for general sale to the public at large in the company's webstores from early November 2021 onward.

Gift premiums are dispatched to subscribers at predetermined delivery milestones during the duration of the partwork's run and vary in different territories.

Intro "boost" insert

In July 2020, the company announced that its Discovery starship line and its subscriptions would be suspended after the release of issue 33, due to production delays with the third season of DIS and the resulting lack of new CG assets.

Eaglemoss further reported in October 2020 that it planned to release more starship models from DIS in a future starships line, combined with ships from Picard and Strange New Worlds , [31] and later indicated that the 32nd century Federation fleet from the third season of DIS would be produced. [32] Additionally, a number of unused Klingon starship designs from the DIS partwork may eventually be put into production. [33]

In February 2021, Robinson reconfirmed that the Universe line will begin with ten ships from Picard and then pivot to Discovery vessels. Robinson had yet to receive any CG assets of starships from the Strange New Worlds production but revealed that he had received four variants (two unique physical models in two distinct liveries) of the Inquiry -class starship from PIC's producers. [34]

[4] It has upon Eaglemoss' bankruptcy instantaneously resulted in what Robert Meyer Burnett had called "a mad dash" of collectors (of whom Burnett was one himself [5] ) trying in desperation to snatch up the few remaining 2022 issues still available in the aftermarket at that point in time and causing retail prices to soar explosively to hugely inflated levels, [6] a frowned upon practice employed by third-party retailers who are colloquially known as "scalpers". [7] Still, after they had acquired the remainder stocks from the bankrupt company, (new) Master Replicas came to the rescue of the frustrated collector base in March 2023, when they started to resell items from the Eaglemoss model partwork lines at the last known normal retail price, which included several 2022 issues from the Universe Starships Collection . Incidentally, no customer had ever received any notification that their subscriptions had been terminated.
• ↑ Originally slated to premiere on 1 April 2021, limited quantities of La Sirena were inadvertently shipped in early March to some UK customers. The UK releases started to regularly experience delays beyond the release dates as initially planned by the company for all their partwork releases from early 2020 onward due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Brexit-inspired move of the company's warehouse and distribution centre from London, UK, to Waghäusel-Kirrlach, Germany, later on in early January 2021. [8] [9] They were acquired from the administrators by (new) Master Replicas along with the regular remainder stock, and sold to the public after all through their webstore, starting in April 2023 with the XL edition of the USS Stargazer and the regular edition of the USS Vancouver from the main and Lower Decks collections respectively, [10] several of them selling out within a day. Third-party UK and Far Eastern eBay retailers who had managed to get their hands on a handful of these unreleased Eaglemoss issues previously – and selling them at hugely inflated prices – , had already reported that these previously unreleased models came without the magazine, they apparently not having entered the regular print-run yet by the time of the bankruptcy, [11] (X) a state of affairs confirmed later on by the ones marketed by Master Replicas. Master Replicas only included magazines if they had already been packaged with the model (which was for the previously released issues not always the case, explaining in the process the large stock of back issues), some of which in German, the only foreign language version (besides Japanese, which however fell under the auspices of DeAgostini) still being printed by the time Eaglemoss had gone bankrupt; an 100,000-copy magazine (back-)issue stock did exist at two printer-owned warehouses somewhere (possibly also holding magazines of the unreleased issues as well), but the printer refused to release them until debt owned by the bankrupt Eaglemoss was fulfilled in full. As the new formal (model) inventory owners, Master Replicas had entered into legal negotiations with the disgruntled printer and was able to resolve the issue in August 2023. [12] [13] [14] The sale of this magazine stock started on 26 December 2023. [15]
• ↑ Though coming without a magazine, it was assumed by Master Replicas that the model of this issue at least was the last of the Star Trek lines to reach the regular bulk manufacturing stage. [16]
• ↑ On his Twitter account, Robinson shared tooled model pictures of the cancelled USS Armstrong , Synth Attack Ship , USS Annan , and the USS Curie issues.
• ↑ In August 2023 Ben Robinson started a rumor that the Dresselhaus had actually entered regular model production and that some stock had already been produced, [17] getting the hopes up of Star Trek collectors. [18] Master Replicas first reported that only the Dresselhaus packaging was found and not the models themselves, [19] but even that turned out to be false due to poor record-keeping on the part of Eaglemoss in their dying days. [20] All this meant that the Jubayr had indeed been the very last Eaglemoss Star Trek issue to enter regular production, but which had not reached market.
• ↑ 13.0 13.1 According to Ben Robinson and CGI modeller Keene Sin , both the USS Tikhov and the USS Curie had reached the prototype display model construction stage as well, [21] and had the magazine in-unverse articles already written too, which were already reproduced in the second edition Star Trek: Shipyards - Starfleet Ships 2294 to the Future reference book (pp. 298-302 & 282-285 respectively).
• ↑ The Limited Edition print is part of the partwork for which customers have taken out a subscription and should not be confused with the " Star Trek Universe -themed" print (gift premium) shown above. This out-of-the-ordinary element of the collection was almost certainly introduced as a means to keep collection releases going for subscribers in order to mask experienced/expected reception delays of production assets for the regular publication. Subscribers were not impressed by this scheme as evidenced by the falling "exclusive" copy numbers, which resulted in the unsold/returned/canceled copies becoming available in the company's web-stores to the general public. Incidentally, the variant release numbers for the UK and EU editions, reflect the company's respective customer base sizes; see also the footnotes of its main article in this regard.
• ↑ After issue 10, subscribers were sent an additional binder, which was this time around automatically charged against subscriber accounts that had given Eaglemoss permission to do so during sign-up. Measuring exactly the same as its Discovery predecessor, 167×244×45 mm, the binder turned out to have become the collection's standard binder when it became offered for general sale on the company's web-shop sites in June 2022.
• ↑ The metal mug is identified as a "Starfleet Archivist Beverage Container" on its box. It only turned out after the Eaglemoss bankruptcy, that there had been a third variant metal mug release (the second variant concerned a gift premium for the Build The Enterprise-D partwork) planned with a Starfleet Academy logo, but the bankruptcy prevented its release. It was left to remainder stock owner (new) Master Replicas to start selling the 2,600 already produced mugs through their webstore. [22]
• ↑ The USS Toussaint variant of the Inquiry -class model features a different nacelle design than some of its sister ships (like the USS Zheng He ) from the same class. Both variants were seen on-screen, and each design was rendered with two distinct liveries. [23] Additionally, some variants display red nacelle elements rather than yellow parts, as rendered in the second edition of the Star Trek: Shipyards - Starfleet Ships 2294 to the Future reference book. All these variants were also showcased in the in-universe chapters of the magazine that came with this gift issue and the two later released class variant bonus issues mentioned above , though the design chapter was lifted one-on-one from the magazine that came with regular issue 2.
