Watch the Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Trailer
Paramount+ has released a handful of trailers over the last few months giving us some variety in events that we can observe. These trailers give some insight into the upcoming season of Star Trek: Picard . Although COVID-19 did cause production delays, this allowed for numerous trailers to be revealed over time. The first teaser trailer dropped on April 5, 2021, and has a short runtime of 1:04. The full trailer dropped on January 21, 2022, with a run time of almost 2 minutes. In this trailer, we see Q telling Picard that the route they are taking is the "road not taken" and features most of the characters we are aware of so far.
Who Are the Main Cast Members of Star Trek: Picard?
The famous Sir Patrick Stewart will be returning as the titular character, Jean-Luc Picard. He will be joined by previous season regulars Alison Pill as Dr. Agnes Jurati, Santiago Cabrera as Cristóbal Ríos, Isa Briones as Soji, Michelle Hurd as Raffi Musiker, and Evan Evagora as Elnor. Additionally, Jeri Ryan’s Seven of Nine will be moving up to a season regular for this next season. Several old faces are also returning in the form of John de Lancie as Q and Whoopi Goldberg as Guinan.
Finally, we have a new face returning as the arch-nemesis of a free Universe. Annie Wersching will be playing the Borg Queen for the first time and is the last of the characters that we are certain will appear in Star Trek: Picard Season 2. That being said, we can always hope for some unexpected familiar faces to show up.
Official Plot Summary of Star Trek: Picard
"Season two of Star Trek: Picard takes the legendary Jean-Luc Picard and his crew on a bold and exciting new journey: into the past. Picard must enlist friends both old and new to confront the perils of 21st century Earth in a desperate race against time to save the galaxy’s future – and face the ultimate trial from one of his greatest foes."
This clearly sets up the plot of the show, with several more possible time shifts in the making. With some of the greatest and most powerful enemies in the Star Trek Universe, this season is sure to be quite impactful. Importantly this season has a lot of possibilities for shifting across time and space. Most experts and analysts who have looked over the trailers have identified at least 3 different timelines. The original timeline is the one where we last saw the cast at the end of Season 1, but there is also a dark timeline, and then there is the 21st century on Earth. With Star Trek returning to our own time and even some cars, it certainly is an interesting time for Star Trek .

Where Can You Watch Other Star Trek Favorites?
The older shows such as Star Trek: Enterprise, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and others all stream on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Paramount+, and DirecTV. The newer shows such as Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Star Trek: Picard are all exclusively available on Paramount+.
Some of the Star Trek movies are not available on Paramount+. The original series movies and the Next Generation movies are all on Amazon Prime, Hulu, DirecTV, and Epix just like the other shows, but the Kelvin timeline shows are more particular. Star Trek is on IMDb TV for streaming, Star Trek: Into Darkness is on FX Now, and Star Trek: Beyond is on Amazon Prime, Hulu, DirecTV, and Epix. There is a myriad of other ways to access your favorite content, but most of them have to be paid for individually.
Who Are the Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Showrunners?
The showrunners for the new season of Picard include Terry Matalas and Akiva Goldsman . Terry Matalas is famous for his early work on shows such as Voyager and Enterprise, as well as 12 Monkeys and MacGyver. Some fans are pleased with his coming to the project as they were not completely satisfied with the ending of the first season. Additionally, having more experienced hands with Star Trek experience is helpful in promoting more internally consistent lore. The other main showrunner, Akiva Goldsman, is famous for his work on shows such as Batman & Robin , A Beautiful Mind , and Star Trek: Discovery. He was also the primary writer for the first season of Picard , and he has a response to some of the criticisms faced by the first season.
He said that this season would “Figure out the end earlier. If you're going to do a serialized show, you have the whole story before you start shooting. It's more like a movie in that way — you better know the end of your third act before you start filming your first scene.”
We can see evidence of this in the more solidified narrative arcs seen in the trailers, and with a seemly more focused cast on a specific topic.

After Q substantially alters history, Picard and his companions Agnes, Elnor, Raffi and Cristobal must travel back in time to save the universe with the help of the Borg Queen (Annie Wersching), arriving on Earth circa 2024.

Seven and Raffi attempt a daring rescue of Rios, while Jurati faces the consequences of her deal with the Borg Queen."
Here's the synopsis for the upcoming Star Trek: Picard episode, "Two of One": "Tallinn helps Picard and the crew infiltrate a gala on the eve of a joint space mission to protect an astronaut they believe is integral in restoring the timeline - Renee Picard; Kore makes a startling discovery about her father's work."

Star Trek: Picard naturally sees legendary actor Patrick Stewart reprising his role as his Star Trek: The Next Generation character, Jean-Luc Picard in his next chapters in life.
He's not alone, though as there's a load of stars set to join him for the new season. Expect to see Alison Pill as Agnes Jurati, Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine, Michelle Hurd as Raffi Musiker, Evan Evagora as Elnor, Orla Brady as Laris, Isa Briones as Soji Asha, Santiago Cabrera as Cristobal "Chris" Rios, Brent Spiner as Altan Inigo Soong, and Annie Wersching as classic Star Trek villain, The Borg Queen.
Excitingly, there are two special guest stars lined up for the new season. Academy award-winner Whoopi Goldberg is set to return to her iconic Star Trek: The Next Generation role as Guinan, with fellow TNG alum John de Lancie back to play the nefarious Q.
Is there a trailer for Star Trek: Picard season 2?

11 Star Trek History Making Starfleet Academy Cadets
No one noticed star trek: picard season 3 subtly set up uss enterprise-d’s return, seven of nine skipped 1 major requirement for becoming a star trek captain.
Star Trek: Picard season 3 forgot about the other "son" of Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), a weird oversight considering how important the character was to Jean-Luc Picard. Picking up about 20 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis, Picard season 1 checked in on Jean-Luc after he had retired from Starfleet. Now caring for his family's French vineyard, Picard had resigned from Starfleet in protest after the Romulan Evacuation Project was shut down. As an Admiral, Picard had organized the massive evacuation effort to save the Romulans from their sun going supernova. But when rogue synths attacked Mars in Picard season 2 , the rescue armada ships were all destroyed.
Having lost thousands of ships and officers, Starfleet called off the evacuation effort, shifting their focus to defense. Picard hoped that the higher-ups at Starfleet would continue the evacuation rather than accept his resignation, but he was mistaken. As part of the evacuation, Picard had helped transport refugees to the Romulan Relocation Hub on Vashti. The Qowat Milat, a group of Romulan warrior nuns, helped with the relocation efforts and became a make-shift security force. Sometime during the Evacuation, the Qowat Milat took in a young orphaned Romulan named Elnor (Ian Nunney), who came to view Admiral Picard as a father figure.
Star Trek: Picard Season 3 Forgot Elnor, Jean-Luc’s Other "Son"
Elnor was not even mentioned in picard season 3.
While overseeing the Romulan evacuation, Picard made regular visits to Vashti, growing close with young Elnor. After the attack on Mars, Picard left Vashti abruptly, promising he would return soon. However, after Starfleet accepted his resignation, Picard never made it back, leaving Elnor to be raised by the Qowat Milat. When Jean-Luc finally returned to Vashti in Star Trek: Picard season 1 , Elnor (Evan Evagora) had grown into a formidable warrior. After the events of Picard season 1, Admiral Picard sponsored Elnor's Starfleet Academy application, helping Elnor become the first full-blooded Romulan to join Starfleet.
Starfleet Academy is the gateway to a career as a Starfleet Officer, and Star Trek has had some graduates who made history in various ways.
In the final scene of Picard season 2, Elnor joined Jean-Luc, Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), and Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd) at Guinan's (Whoopi Goldberg) Ten Forward bar, where Picard declared the group to be a family. Despite this, Elnor was completely absent from Picard season 3, even though much of the story revolved around family. Since Picard season 3 shifted the focus to the reunited crew of the USS Enterprise-D, Elnor may have felt out of place. Still, as a young Starfleet officer, he should have been on one of the ships at Frontier Day, making his absence feel even more conspicuous.
Although Elnor had previously been stationed on the USS Excelsior, Star Trek: Picard season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas confirmed that Elnor was not on the ship when it was destroyed by the Borg/Changeling alliance.
What Would Happen If Elnor Met Picard’s Son, Jack Crusher?
Will elnor ever get to meet picard's other son.
Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) returned in Star Trek: Picard season 3, revealing the shocking news that she and Picard had a son named Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers). After helping to save the Federation yet again, Picard returned to his retirement, eventually reuniting with Dr. Crusher to see their son off to his first posting. Now an Ensign, Jack joined the crew of the USS Enterprise-G as the Special Counselor to Captain Seven of Nine. With Jack and Elnor both in Starfleet, it's entirely possible their paths could cross if Star Trek ever produces more stories set during Picard's 25th century.
Jack grew up traveling the galaxy with his mother, while Elnor was raised by the very ordered Qowat Milat, meaning their upbringings were vastly different. Elnor's tendency toward "absolute candor" would contrast sharply with Jack's history as a conman. Elnor likely wouldn't know what to make of Jack, but both men could find common ground in their connections to Starfleet and Jean-Luc Picard. It would be incredibly fun to see these two disparate personalities share a screen after the events of Star Trek: Picard .

Part I opens with a bleak montage of Chakotay’s (Robert Beltran) repetitive days stranded on the unforgiving planet of Ysida. Ysida itself is stark and eerily beautiful — the color pallet unique and striking, with bold reds, deep purples, and greys. Day in and day out, he takes care of his basic needs, living off of fruit and eel eggs, polishing his solar collectors and literally whittling away his time. Until today, when he captures our Protostar gang in a net trap. It’s then that we learn he’s been marooned on this planet for ten years.
Ten years. That’s longer than he was in the Delta Quadrant! And that was, of course, in infinitely better conditions. What a bold choice for Prodigy to make — as it seems like a really harsh fate for someone we know and love. But because we know him, we know Chakotay can handle anything. And this version of Chakotay is arguably the best we’ve ever seen.
He’s older and wiser, a little bit grizzled, a man determined to live out his life alone as the caretaker of the Vau N’Akat weapon, heroically giving up himself to save the Federation. He’s awesome. (And as an aside, this isn’t even the worst fate modern Trek has delivered to someone we care about. I still haven’t recovered from what Picard did to poor Icheb!)
The kids tell Chakotay the whole time-bending story, and he either doesn’t believe them — or isn’t ready to process it all — so he tells them ‘No!’ and leaves them to fend for themselves in the impending ion storm. There’s also the small matter of the protodrive and warp drive fuel being ejected… so even if he did want to help, the ship can’t fly. We get a chance to see the power of this planet during the ion storm with terrible lighting and strong wind as the kids seek shelter. Hologram Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) shames Chakotay into letting them in by invoking the memory of Adreek: “ He would have let them in”.
Seeing Holo-Janeway again is incredibly comforting, given her eventual/previous fate — and also as a relief that Chakotay wasn’t completely alone for all these years. I did have to give my youngest a temporal mechanics refresher, as she was confused how Holo-Janeway was still alive, but that wasn’t due to any lacking in the episode. The dialogue actually did a nice job of explaining just where everyone exists in the timeline, with the kids so happy to see her and her not yet knowing them.
We find out that Adreek — Chakotay’s first officer — had a plan to try to collect some antimatter, and the crew decides they have to get both the ship and its curmudgeonly captain ready to try to get the Protostar aloft again. We are treated to a lovely montage of the crew engaged in getting the ship back into shape while Chakotay slowly melts as he witnesses them working together.
When Murf (Dee Bradley Baker) squeegees himself across the window, it becomes clear what is actually happening here: that they are the ones who get the Protostar into the pristine condition we know they find it in. That this ship has been through a lot more than we realized by the time it’s eventually found on Tars Lamora. That they have earned this ship in more ways than one. Knowing all this deepens season one and I can’t wait to rewatch “Lost and Found” in particular knowing what I know now.
Dal (Brett Gray) gets lost during the next ion storm and we know Chakotay is back to his old self as he immediately goes looking for him. He, Gwyn, Jankom, and “the blobby guy” go off in the newly-fixed Runaway. The vehicle once again delivers some really dynamic action as the Runaway zooms around the red dunes and down into the vast array of tunnels (in hovercraft mode!). They zoom around dodging some really impressive looking graboid/molduga/sandworm type creatures that fit perfectly with the aesthetic of this P-class nightmare of a planet.
They find Dal, and in an incredibly somber moment, Adreek. For how little we got to know Adreek, he loomed large over Prodigy as Chakotay’s Number One. At first it was partially due to his unique looks (It doesn’t get much cooler than a birdman!) but then when we got to meet him properly in “Who Saves the Saviors,” his wry personality and heroic attitude cemented him as a favorite.
When his skeleton came on screen, my daughter gasped. We all felt his loss. Robert Beltran’s heartfelt performance made us feel the depth of Chakotay’s loss too. We soon find out that Adreek died as he lived: a Starfleet hero. He managed to rig up some kind of lightning rod and was able to harness the energy of the storms to collect antimatter. Way to go, feathered friend.
Chakotay is fully on board now and ready to try to get the Protostar to fly again. Part 1 ends with the best setup line, that Adreek knew “before this ship could fly, first it has to sail.” My jaw dropped at that reveal of what has to come next to get the Protostar off of Ysida. I was surprised when Part I ended after that most intriguing statement because it absolutely flew by. The entire episode was riveting and I was completely captivated by the emotional payoffs and setbacks finally finding Chakotay introduced to the season.
Composer Nami Melumad just absolutely out does herself in this two-parter. The music ebbs and flows along with the emotional highs and lows — like so many waves on the vapor sea — making the character moments feel even more intimate and the action moments even more epic. A beautiful companion and guide on this journey.
Part II finds our heroes modifying the Protostar into a sailing ship worthy of sailing through the high density vapor ocean of Ysida. Their destination is the eye of a gigantic storm where Holo-Janeway has detected a large concentration of the deuterium they need for the matter/antimatter reaction that powers the warp drive.
I. Love. This. Plan! What a cool and different adventure for a Star Trek crew and their ship to embark on. Such a romantic notion to turn the Protostar from a starship into, as Dal puts it, “a ship-ship,” while Chakotay declares it the HMS Protostar in a nice touch.
After a quick lesson on simple machines (“Give me a lever and a place to stand and I can move the world!”), she is in the vapor and they are sailing. Just wonderful nautical language and imagery as Captain Chakotay gives everyone orders while they navigate the sea. I could watch the Protostar floating on this sea of clouds with its rigging and gorgeous solar collector forward sail forever. What an absolute delight!
Dal makes a mistake and gets demoted from the jib to rope coiling duties. This leads to what might possibly be my favorite scene in all of Prodigy . Dal and Chakotay sit on the edge of the ship and have a moving heart-to-heart chat. Chakotay talks about his history, familiar to us, about how he felt the same way when he was Dal’s age and he joined the Maquis — but he never felt like he truly belonged until Voyager .
He gives him some great advice: “Whenever you’re feeling lost, it’s best to find where you’re needed most.” This quiet little moment of connection — this poignant conversation between two characters we love — is the best sort of reason to bring back these legacy characters. And Prodigy has done some of the best work of all the newer shows in making their returns worthwhile and meaningful.
And then? Back to the action, as the ship has reached the storm. It’s too much to fight and they get caught circling the eye. The rudder is stuck and, luckily, Gwyn (Ella Purnell) was paying attention when we learned about levers earlier so she has the idea that they operate it manually just long enough for the Bussard collectors to do their thing and collect the deuterium they need.
They all go up to the rudder with their levers, and the plan works. Listen to those Bussard collectors hum! But Jankom’s (Jason Mantzoukas) joy of having gas as the deuterium tanks fill is short lived as Chakotay falls overboard. There’s no hesitation from Dal as he grabs the rope and jumps in after him, with a few tense moments until Dal’s quick thinking gets them back onboard via hitching a ride from an eel — and then it’s just sheer joy as everyone is ok and warp and impulse drives are online.
I felt caught up in their excitement watching as Dal calls it our ship and relays Chakotay’s advice back to him: “we just went where we were needed most.” Could I be any more proud of him? Of Chakotay? Of the rest of the gang? Could I love this two-parter any more?
The Protostar is back in space. Unfortunately, the Voyager -A is 3,000 light years away. But no biggie, as they vow to get the protodrive working. The confidence on Dal here is earned this time, as he gives a great closing line: “We just rebuilt a starship, so let’s go build a star.” It’s such a great setup for what’s next on the agenda, and I can’t wait to find out the “how” of this part.
I haven’t even mentioned the fantastic and surprising Gates McFadden cameo! It certainly looks like we are definitely going down the path of intersection with what we learned about the Crusher family in Picard . It’s a lovely conversation between two wonderful women. The emphasis on Janeway being like a mother to the Protostar crew adds depth to Chakotay becoming somewhat of a fatherly figure, as in his “father-son” heart-to-heart chat with Dal. The idea of them “co-parenting” in that way is one I’d really like to explore more.
“The Last Flight of the Protostar ” feels like an emotional interlude in the middle of the season but it’s more than just that. It’s integral in advancing the plot to get both Chakotay and the Protostar back into action. It’s unique to slow it down this way, to let it breathe and to allow us the time necessary to get to know Chakotay again and — for the younger viewers and the Protostar crew — for the first time.
Giving them such a sublime adventure together in which to bond feels like Star Trek stripped down to it’s basics. A special episode that will be remembered as one of the best of the modern era.

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for Ryan Murphy’s true crime anthology series “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” which will be available to stream on Sept. 19.
“Following the massive success of ‘Dahmer,’ Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s true-crime anthology series returns with ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,’ chronicling the case of the real-life brothers who were convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents, José and Mary Louise ‘Kitty’ Menendez,” reads the show’s log line.
It continues: “While the prosecution argued they were seeking to inherit their family fortune, the brothers claimed – and remain adamant to this day, as they serve life sentences without the possibility of parole – that their actions stemmed out of fear from a lifetime of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse at the hands of their parents.”
Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, David McMillan, Louise Shore, Carl Franklin, Javier Bardem, Paris Barclay, Michael Uppendahl and Max Winkler all serve as executive producers.

Paramount+ unveiled the trailer for the second season of “Colin From Accounts,” which will premiere on the streamer on Sept. 26.
All eight episodes of the new season will be available to stream at launch. Series creators Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer have returned to write, executive produce and star in the series that has already been feted with two Gotham TV Awards and has maintained a 100% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
“‘Colin From Accounts’ is a romantic comedy about flawed, funny people choosing each other and embracing the all-too-relatable chaos of modern life. After Gordon (Brammall) and Ashley (Dyer) are brought together in season one by a spontaneous nipple flash and the subsequent accident that injured the titular (no pun intended) dog, season two of the hit series opens with Ash and Gordon now living together and trying to get their beloved, special needs dog, Colin, back from his new owners,” reads the series’ log line.
It continues: “It’s the first in a series of hurdles for the new couple as they find out more about each other, for better and worse.”

But when Wolf ends up being haunted the Bad Guys must revisit the mansion to return the cursed loot,” the special’s logline teases.
This Halloween special premieres on Netflix Oct. 3 and is directed by Kevin Peaty. Bret Haaland and Katherine Nolfi serve as executive producers.
The cast includes Michael Godere as ‘Wolf,’ Ezekiel Ajeigbe as ‘Shark,’ Raul Ceballos as ‘Piranha,’ Chris Diamantopoulos as ‘Snake’ and ‘Reginald E. Scary,’ Mallory Low as ‘Tarantula’

The Star Trek franchise has announced “Take the Chair, Make an Impact,” a global campaign encouraging fans to embrace the vision of a brighter future.
The “Take the Chair” campaign “invites fans to see themselves in the iconic U.S.S. Enterprise captain’s chair and ask themselves, ‘What would I do if I were setting the course to the future?’” according to a statement.
Fans will be able to celebrate “Star Trek Day” at various pop-up events in cities such as Chicago, Berlin and Vancouver.
The premiere episodes of the “Star Trek” series will be available to watch for free in a special sampling between Sept. 7 and Sept. 13 on Paramount+ partner platforms (Amazon, Apple, Roku), as well as Paramount+’s YouTube page, Pluto TV and on the Paramount+ free content hub (US only). PROGRAMMING
FOX has announced plans to produce an all-new-two-hour special in which a group of male celebrities will volunteer to bare all to raise awareness for prostate, testicular and colorectal cancer testing and research.
The special is titled “The Full Monty” and is inspired by the award-winning 1997 film of the same name, which sees a group of men form a male strip-tease act to raise a quick buck.
Emmy-and Golden Globe-nominated actor, comedian and producer Anthony Anderson (“We Are Family,” “75th Emmy Awards,” “Black-ish”) will rally a cast of male celebrities, including himself, Taye Diggs (“All American,” “How Stella Got Her Groove Back”), Chris Jones (3x Super Bowl Champion, Kansas City Chiefs), Tyler Posey (“Teen Wolf”), Bruno Tonioli (“Dancing with the Stars”) and James Van Der Beek (“Dawson’s Creek,” “Varsity Blues”) to encourage men to get checked and strip the stigma around prostate, testicular and colorectal cancer.
During the two-hour special, Anderson will lead Diggs, Jones, Posey, Tonioli and Van Der Beek as they train and rehearse for the most revealing performance of their careers, culminating with a big strip-tease dance, choreographed by Emmy Award-winner Mandy Moore (Choreographer for “So You Think you Can Dance,” “La La Land” and Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour”), where they will bare all in front of a live audience.
The special will air on FOX on Dec. 9 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Atsuko Okatsuka’s second stand-up comedy special will premiere on Hulu this November as part of the platform’s new stand-up comedy brand it has cheekily dubbed “Hularious.”
The special will be filmed at the Disney-owned El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on Nov. 9. The show is part of Okatsuka’s newly added Los Angeles date on her 2024 Full Grown Tour, which is produced by Live Nation.
Following her HBO special “The Intruder,” Okatsuka embarked on her tour with over 200 shows in 100+ cities, 20+ countries, four continents and over 100K tickets sold.
In addition to her stand-up career, she debuted two films at the Tribeca Film Festival: “All That We Love” by Yen Tan; and “Group Therapy,” directed by Neil Berkely and produced by Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat Productions. She also wrapped the feature studio comedy “Outcome” for Apple, starring Jonah Hill and Keanu Reeves.
Hulu has yet to reveal the title of the special and its release date.
Jacoba Atlas’ documentary “The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause” premieres on PBS Oct. 17, followed by a 20-city U.S. screening tour.
Per the official logline, “‘The M Factor’ features renowned doctors, workplace advocates and leading advocates for women’s health addressing questions that have long plagued women. Women from all walks of life reveal the physical and mental anguish they live with every day. The film also sheds light on disparities faced by Black and Brown women as they assess their treatment options.”
“Every single woman will go through menopause,” said executive producers Denise Pines and Tamsen Fadal. “The neglect, ridicule, or shaming of debilitating symptoms is unacceptable and impacts more than just an individual woman’s well-being.“
“The M Factor” is produced by Women in the Room Productions and Take Flight Productions.
