If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure filled with rich history, breathtaking scenery, and mouthwatering food, I wholeheartedly recommend an Italian tour. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

My son and I really enjoyed this tour. The activities, hotels and tour guides were great and we saw so much I. Just a few days. It was all very well organised.

Nice trip, our group leader (Lorenzo) knows many good local restaurants, and took good care of everyone. The itinerary is just perfect, not too fast nor slow, we have ample time to explore each city.

A Taste of Italy: 11 Days Tour

A Taste of Italy: 11 Days

It didn’t offer me to review the tour that I went on but I was on the Gems of Italy tour with Riccardo. He was our tour guide and he made it absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to go back. You should give him a bunch more work. He’s incredible. The tours were wonderful, the sites were great and the hotels were beautiful. Brava!

Italy from North to South Tour

Italy from North to South

This was my first bus tour. It was very good. You will be busy with early morning starts. Some long days with sightseeing and travelling. Wear comfortable shoes for walking tours (2-3 hrs). Lots of bathroom stops for snacks. Buy food! It was cold in Florence & Venice but off season travel is worth it for way less crowds. We knew this ahead of time. Hotel rooms are small - showers too. This is standard in Europe. A couple of meals were crappy. Bring cash (Euros) as very few places take credit. Our trip was super organized by Stefano & driver Luigi. We had 27 people on our bus & everyone was very friendly. There could have been more downtime but we got what we paid for. You will be busy every day. Read the fine print about no rides back to your hotel in certain days. It’s clear & not hard to figure out. Overall a good busy trip.

Italian Discovery Tour

Italian Discovery

This was my second trip with Eskapas , the first was to Greece and it was wonderful. Italian Discovery trip was very interesting and covered most of sites I wanted to visit. Visited many very historic sites, cities, monuments and many amazing structures such as the Vatican, Rome fountains, Leaning tower of Pisa, so many structures and areas it is hard to name them all, but all amazing. The size of the group was around 35 people and it was winter. Italian cities are full of tourists even in the winter. A few days it was rainy but it didn't bother us a lot. The accommodation, sightseeing were good, and the pizza in Naples was our favorite. Our tour leader Mario was full of energy and explained a lot in the bus. Guides in the cities rushed a lot. I guess they had other group appointment after us. Our driver Tao was top! He was fun and has always been smiling. The only inconvenience the group was too big and some of the customers were rude and taking all the same seats. Overall it is a 5-star experience.

Splendor of Sicily 8 Days Tour - from Catania Tour

Splendor of Sicily 8 Days Tour - from Catania

Impressive. From the very beginning with a slight mixup on booking quickly resolved via WhatsApp to a super awesome tri-lingual guide who seamlessly spoke to historical facts and architectural details while weaving in local legends and folklore. Thanks to the tour team in the background who compassionately and efficiently handled a medical emergency. Be forewarned. This tour is packed. It’s a lot to see in 8 days and the days are FULL. It can be exhausting to have planned time from 7am breakfast to an 8:30pm group dinner. I don’t know how it could be done differently - but staying 2, even 3 nights at 1 location with day trips would be more pleasant instead of having to pack and unpack nearly every day. This tour was made memorable by an excellent guide. Kudos to Placido!

Mamma Mia! Best of Italy Tour

Mamma Mia! Best of Italy

I've always been fascinated by the culture and history of Italy, and this tour allowed me to fully immerse myself in it. We started in Rome and visited several other destinations across the country. Our expert guide Luca was super knowledgeable and provided lots of interesting insights into the culture and traditions of Italy. One of my personal highlights from Rome was visiting the Colosseum and learning about the gladiatorial games that took place there. In Florence, I was really impressed by the beautiful architecture and artwork at the Uffizi Gallery. But the real highlight of the tour for me was our visit to Venice. The city is just stunning, with its winding canals and gorgeous landmarks. We even took a gondola ride, which was a truly magical experience. Overall, this tour was an unforgettable experience. The hotels were decent and the food and wine were ofcourse amazing. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience the best of Italy.

Best Time for Travel Italian Vistas

While just about any month is great to visit Italy, there are a few prime times of the year for the Italian Vistas tour. Here are some recommendations from our destination experts.

Throughout Italy, the most popular times to visit are April, May, June, September, and October. Along the coast, July and August are busy with locals and Europeans on summer holiday, while cities are usually less crowded.

Winter: Go in December, January, and February for Venice, where you can take a walk beside the canals on a quiet evening and hear your footsteps echoing off the water. Catch the holiday spirit in festive Sorrento or in Naples, renowned for elaborate, handcrafted nativity scene statuettes.

Spring: Before summer’s crowds, spring is a great season to visit Sorrento and the Isle of Capri. Despite occasional rainy weather, the quieter time of year is very enjoyable for sightseeing. At Lake Maggiore, attractions such as the Borromeo Palace on Isola Bella can still be closed for the season, but there is no shortage of opportunities to soak in the area’s beauty.

Fall: After the busy summer season, you’ll encounter more of the locals from October on. Fall is a fantastic season to travel in Tuscany, with fewer crowds, cooler days, and a bit of foliage to enjoy – all pairing well with a glass of red wine!

The Vatican Museums are not only home to one of the world’s greatest collections of art, but also to the world-famous Sistine Chapel. Priceless artifacts from ancient Egypt, Etruscan Italy and cultures around the world are preserved in the Vatican’s palaces, galleries, halls and rooms. Follow a local expert guide on a three hour, in-depth visit through this vast collection. Highlights include the Gallery of Maps, the Gallery of Tapestries and, of course, a visit to the Sistine Chapel. The chapel’s famous ceiling frescoes took Michelangelo four years to complete. His brilliant Last Judgment, which rests on the altar wall, was a topic of controversy for centuries. Other walls feature paintings by Pietro Perugino, Sandro Botticelli, Cosimo Rosselli and Domenico Ghirlandaio. Your final stop will be at St. Peter’s Basilica, one of the most important churches in Christendom, and until recently, the largest in the world.

Follow your expert guide on an engaging tour of Rome’s more epicurean side. Your culinary journey takes place in the bohemian Trastevere district, where medieval architecture meets ivy-clung houses and the lively chatter from the many eateries sprinkled through the neighborhood echoes off the cobblestoned streets. Partake in the local tradition of aperitivo (pre-dinner drink) before tasting your way through Rome’s most representative street food, such as supplì (fried rice ball) and pastas. Top off your culinary exploration with a taste of artisanal gelato and learn how to tell a good one from a factory-made, ensuring you never eat a bad one again!

This evening, set off on a scenic drive to nearby Galluzzo, a historic town famous for its Carthusian monastery which rests upon one of the beautiful hills surrounding Florence. Prior to dinner, enjoy an after-hours visit to this 14th-century monastery – La Certosa.* Revel in the beauty that lurks inside and experience the monastery’s magnificence as you learn about monastic daily life. Then your evening of fun continues at one of the area’s most popular dining establishments. Experience an authentic and traditional dinner served family-style! Savor local wines and Tuscan food and enjoy the entertainment. It’s a memorable – truly Italian – evening out that you won’t want to miss!

Experience the romance that can only be found in Venice – La Serenìssima – while traveling on its famous waterways. Partake in one of Venice’s most famous pastimes – a gondola cruise. Take a pleasant stroll toward the Grand Canal to board your gondola. As you relax in your elegant watercraft, your gondolier navigates the Grand Canal as well as smaller side canals. Admire the scenery as you listen to the melodic voice serenading you in true Italian style – just like in those romantic Italian movies!

Visit the Academy Museum in Florence to see Michelangelo's famous statue of David.

Stroll the streets of Verona – the backdrop for Romeo and Juliet.

Italy Tours

Tour Italy Rome Colosseum

Your own personal Renaissance

Italians love to surround themselves with beauty, and it shows. A more fitting country could not have been designed by Michelangelo himself: from medieval hilltop towns to sun-drenched Mediterranean islands, Italy is sublime. Icons are so numerous it's difficult to choose. Some are entire cities: Venice, Florence, and Rome are works of art in themselves, and Italy has played host to arguably the greatest collection of art, architecture, and artists the world has ever seen. Home to more UNESCO World Heritage sites than any other country, Italy is nothing if not cultured; an education was once considered incomplete until one spent time in Italy. Today, this tradition continues, as visitors from around the world come to surround themselves with beauty and immerse themselves in la dolce vita. Viva Italia!

Italy Tours 2023 & 2024 - Italy Tour Vacations & Custom Trips

What can you experience on italy tours.

Italy tours 2023 & 2024 offer a great balance between scheduled activities to make sure you see all the key sites and free time to venture out on your own and explore Italy.  The sky is the limit.  Walk in the footsteps of Caesar. Take in the art and architecture of renowned painters and sculptors. Indulge in a creamy Gelato or handmade cannoli. Get lost exploring the hilltop villages and medieval towns. Stroll over the many bridges of Venice and end your day with a romantic gondola ride or a dance under the stars in St. Marks Square. Shop for designer brands, Murano glass, and Italian leather boots and jackets. Taste the wine and olive oil they have been producing in this region for centuries. Sit in a bustling piazza taking in the Italian way of life. We assure you an Italy vacation package is something that you will never forget.

What's included on Italy tour packages?

Inclusions will vary depending on whether you selected a budget, first class, deluxe, or luxury tour of Italy.  However, all Italy tours include hotel accommodations, a professional tour guide and driver, daily breakfast, and some sightseeing. What may vary is the number of other travelers on your same tour, the type of transportation used while on tour, the quality of the hotels, and how many experiences are included in the price. Let an Italy travel specialist help guide you through the differences and find the right trip.

What is the best time to travel to Italy?

The best months to travel to Italy are April, May, early June, mid to late September, and October.  Temperatures tend to be milder and the main sites are a bit less crowded.  August can be quite hot. During the winter months, you can also find some nice deals if you don't mind the cold weather (even snow), especially in Northern Italy.

What can you see on Italy tour packages?

The most popular Italy tours explore Rome, Florence, and Venice. However, there is so much to see and do throughout this vast country beyond these 3 amazing cities. You can focus on visiting just the Italian Lakes area. You can spend time in Tuscany and Cinque Terre enjoying culinary and wine delights. You can start in Rome and head south all the way to Sicily or spend your days basking in the Mediterranean sun on the Amalfi Coast. One thing you will have when looking through our selections of Italy tours and vacation packages for 2023 and 2024 is an abundance of options.  You are really able to find a package perfect for you and those you choose to travel with. One thing is for certain, Italy tours offer something for every interest, including those that love food and wine, architecture, art, music, shopping, and more.
