Dubai Visa for Qatar Residents in 2024: A Comprehensive Guide

Dubai is one of the most famous countries abroad, attracting thousands of visitors annually, whether on vacation or on tour. Qatari residents should be aware of the numerous options available for obtaining a visa for Dubai. With its stunning skyscrapers, pristine beaches, and cultural richness, Dubai has become a sought-after travel destination for people worldwide, including residents of Qatar. In this article, we will explore the process of obtaining a Dubai visa for Qatar residents in 2024 , the different types of visas available, application procedures, and essential tips for a successful visa application.

Types of Dubai Visas

When applying for a Dubai visa, knowing the different types available to Qatari residents is essential. Each visa type serves a specific purpose, and choosing the right one ensures a smooth entry into Dubai.

  • Tourist Visa : Perfect for Qatar residents planning a leisure trip to Dubai, the tourist visa allows for a stay of up to 30 days, with the option to extend for an additional 30 days.
  • Business Visa : A business visa is appropriate if you're travelling to Dubai for work-related purposes. It allows you to attend meetings and conferences and conduct business activities for up to 14 days.
  • Transit Visa : Qataris passing through Dubai on their way to another location can apply for a transit visa valid for 48 hours. This visa is entirely free.

Applying for a Dubai Visa for Qatar Citizens:

The visitor visa is no longer available through the Dubai Embassy. Why? Because of Qatar's diplomatic fallout and its Persian Gulf allies, Dubai has placed new travel restrictions on Qatar Residence Visa holders. For passports or travel groups, you should apply for a Dubai tourist visa online. Before applying for a group visa, look at the rating, the carrier provided, and the work efficiency. If there are additional carrier expenses, make reservations for lodging and a tour plan that meet your needs. These programmes cover all aspects of life, such as travel, sightseeing, visas, and air tickets to Dubai. When you apply online for a visa immediately, you must select the visa, fill out the required information, and upload any supporting documents. Then you'll need to prepare the bills for your chosen visa and mail them. Standard visitor visas are valid for one month (30 days). Visitors with Dubai visas  can stay for three months, including the last date (90 days). One-time entry and exit permissions make travelling easier.

Despite Qatar's diplomatic dispute with several Arab governments, the border between Qatar and the UAE may not be shut. Although Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have all cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, the border between the UAE and Qatar is likely to remain open. This is because the UAE and Qatar share the world's largest gas field, the South Pars offshore natural gas field, which contains more than 900 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Qatar and the UAE also share the Dubai-Al Ain road, and the UAE has a military base in Qatar.

If your loved ones are planning a trip to the UAE, here's a reminder: Tourists can apply for a family group visit visa, which is free of cost for children.

Under the scheme, children under the age of 18 can be granted a visa for free while usual charges apply to their parents.

“The application for this visa should be submitted along with either father’s or mother’s application,” said Subair Thekepurathvalappil, senior manager for inbound and outbound operations at Regal Tours Worldwide.

Stay up to date with the latest news. Follow KT on WhatsApp Channels.

Industry experts said several visitors had been opting for this entry permit.

“A family group visit visa is more convenient and cost-effective for families, given that there is no visa fee for children under the age of 18,” Subair said, adding that there are no restrictions on the number of children who can apply for the permit.

The free visa is also applicable even to children who are travelling with just one parent, he explained. It is available for a 30- or 60-day stay, which can be extended within the country.

With the festive season just around the corner, several family group visit visas are being issued every day — particularly to Indians who wish to celebrate Diwali in Dubai, said Firoz Maliyakkal, founder and CEO of Tahira Tours and Travels.

This visa, however, is not new. It was introduced two years ago and has since been a popular option for visitors from around the world.

How to apply

  • A family will have to submit copies of their passports and photos — all at once — to a travel agency.
  • Fees are paid. Note that though the visa is free for children, travel agent service charges and insurance fees will apply.
  • The agency then processes the application.
  • The visa is usually issued in a day or two.
  • Visa fee for parents, along with the service charge for children, may vary depending on the travel agency.
  • A 30-day visa for a parent ranges from Dh350 to Dh500.
  • Service charge and insurance for a child range between Dh80 and Dh120.
  • A 60-day visa will cost Dh500 to Dh650, while the service charge, including insurance, may vary from Dh130 to Dh170.

Requirements

  • Passport copy
  • Passport-sized photograph

Extension policy

Experts say the family visa can be extended without exiting the country, “however, a full visa fee has to be paid for children. The extension within the country is not free for children", said Subair.

“Visitors can extend the family visa for up to 120 days without exiting the country,” he added.
