7 Outdoor Adventure Bachelor Party Destinations

Bachelor parties don’t have to be Las Vegas ragers. If you’re looking for something a little different, check out these destinations that will offer you and your best buds a chance to bond outdoors and experience the kind of adventure you’ll all remember forever. From skydiving and ATVing in Lake Tahoe, to cowboy-worthy horseback riding in Tucson, whitewater rafting and mountain biking in Denver and an epic motorcycle journey from the Sequoias to Yosemite, these are the top seven outdoor bachelor party ideas in the United States—plus, where to camp along the way. Bookmark this adventurous bachelor party guide now, so when the time comes, you’re ready.

1. Lake Tahoe, California

Why it’s cool: Whether you’re looking to golf with the guys on the lakeside Bijou Municipal Course or take the Tamarack Express chairlift up to Skyline Trail for a moderate hike and some stunning views, Lake Tahoe is an ideal outdoor getaway for you and the fellas. If you’re feeling adventurous, there’s skydiving , horseback riding and ATV expeditions that are all accessible from South Lake. For winter visitors (January to March), skiing the slopes is also an option. At night, you can unwind at Unbuckle, a popular night spot just off the mountain with DJs, drinks and go-go dancers, or you can venture to Montbleu Casino for more nightlife action.

Where to stay: If you want to party, check out the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Heavenly in South Lake. If you’re a skier, Kirkwood is a good option that’s about 45 minutes out of town. For cheaper options and for a more relaxing vibe, consider renting a cabin or condo nearby on VRBO or AirBnB.

Where to camp : Check out more California camping options .

Lake Tahoe, California

2. Austin, Texas

Why it’s cool : Rent a canoe or kayak and cruise around Lady Bird Lake , where the lush daytime scenery turns into a haven for the city’s famous bats at night. If you’re not into creepy creatures, the Barton Springs Pool is 68-degrees year-round and is surrounded by well-kept gardens and pecan trees. The 232-acre Hamilton Pool Preserve is another nearby option with plenty of hiking trails and a 45-foot waterfall that makes for a good day trip. For more hiking, cycling and fishing, thirteen miles outside the city you’ll find the 640-acre Mckinney Falls State Park where you can camp with the boys if you don’t mind roughing it.

Where to stay : If you’re looking for something other than chain lodging, Hotel St. Cecilia is a quirky boutique hotel with a laid-back Austin vibe that pays homage to beat poetry and rock & roll. A cheaper option is the Austin Motel, which has been in business since 1938 and is a city landmark on South Congress that’s walking distance to pretty much all the nightlife fun.

Austin, Texas

3. Denver, Colorado

Why it’s cool : Aside from the legalization of the many mind-altering substances that have tourists flocking to the state of Colorado, Denver has plenty of awesome outdoor activities that are worthy of an unforgettable bachelor party. Whether it’s hitting the rapids downtown in Confluence Park or cycling the 80 miles worth of off-street bike paths , there’s plenty to keep you and your buds busy. Just outside the city, you can head to the beautiful ski resorts in Vail or hike one of the state’s 53 14,000-foot summits. Pike’s Peak is one such climb you won’t forget, and is only about 45 minutes away in Colorado Springs.

Where to stay : The Hyatt Regency in downtown is priced reasonably and the Peaks Lounge on the top floor has good drinks and a great view of the city. For something a little different, try the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, which is a classic for its haunted history.

Where to camp : Check out more Colorado camping options .

Denver, Colorado

4. The Appalachian Trail, New York

Why it’s cool : While you might want to save the whole 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail for a different go round, completing one section is totally doable. The three-day section between Garrison and Arden Point in New York is one way to go, and you’ll get plenty of epic scenery along the way. Bear Mountain Bridge, the Hudson River and Lake Tiorati are a few of the sites you’ll take in during this challenging hike that you won’t soon forget.

For a pretty detailed itinerary, check out this blog from two brothers who completed the trek for their own bachelor party a few years back.

Where to stay : West Mountain Shelter and Fingerboard Shelter in Harriman State Park are two possible options at the end of day one and two. You could also camp on Bear Mountain on day one or near Lake Tiorati on day two, if you’re up for it.

Where to camp : Check out more New York camping options .

The Appalachian Trail, New York

5. Sequoia to Yosemite, California

Why it’s cool : This four-day guided motorcycle excursion from the Sequoias to Yosemite offered by the Wilderness Collective is a dream trip for any outdoor enthusiast. For $2,750 per person, this all-inclusive adventure (food, drinks, bikes, camping gear and equipment) will take your group of eight to 10 on some of the most beautiful remote mountain roads in the U.S.. You’ll observe historic sites at the Sequoia groves, stop for scenic views from 8,000+ summits and enjoy a few relaxing stops along the river. And even cooler, a professional cook and cameraman will accompany you along the way to make sure you eat well and to capture a few of your most epic memories.

Where to stay : It’s all planned for you. Once you depart from Los Angeles, you’ll stay at Mountain Camp, Creek Camp and Grove Camp on the way to Yosemite Valley.

Sequoia to Yosemite, California

6. Tucson, Arizona

Why it’s cool : Nothing says bachelor party like the Wild West. In between the Rincon Mountains and the Saguaro National Park, head to the Tanque Verde Ranch to channel your inner cowboy while you take on horseback riding, a team cattle penning challenge and a chili cook off. Hiking and singletrack mountain biking are also available on this 600-acre ranch that you can experience solo or as part of a number of guided tours . If you’re into looking at the stars, try SkyCenter’s telescope from the top of Mount Lemmon for some perspective.

For those hotter days during the summer, get off the ranch and head to the indoor Rocks and Ropes for one of the best rock climbing walls you’ll find anywhere. Afterwards, you can cool off at Barrio Brewing across the street for a few cold ones while you unwind.

Where to stay : Try one of the lodging packages on the Tanque Verde Ranch or stay at the Omni Tucson National Resort—the golf courses here are part of the PGA Tour.

Tucson, Arizona

7. Moab, Utah

Why it’s cool : There are few places in the U.S. more beautiful than Moab. Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are two must-visit areas that you can tackle by motorcycle or mountain bike. For the latter, try Porcupine Rim or SlickRock bike trail , which are two bucket list rides for anyone who loves biking. Off the trail, kayak the canyons with a guided tour or rent a four-wheel drive vehicle with Adrift Adventures for a good time in the dirt.

Where to stay : Sorrel River Ranch & Spa can be pricey, but offers plenty of activities on site that make it worth the cost. If you’re looking for less of a resort atmosphere, book a tent at Under Canvas Moab and relax beneath the stars.

Where to camp : Check out more Utah camping options .

Select a camping spot that offers the right combination of scenic beauty, amenities, and activities for your group. Consider factors like distance, accessibility, and available facilities. Look for campgrounds that offer adventure options like hiking trails, fishing opportunities, or water sports.

Research outdoor activities that your group will love. Consider activities like hiking, fishing, kayaking, or even zip-lining. Plan a day full of thrilling adventures to keep the energy high and create lasting memories.

Make a list of essential camping gear and divide the responsibilities among your group members. Ensure you have tents, sleeping bags, cooking equipment, and other necessities. Encourage everyone to contribute by bringing their own camping gear or pitching in for group equipment.

25 Outdoor Bachelor Party Ideas You’ll Definitely Enjoy

  • by Marisa Jenkins
  • May 26, 2024

Besides the wedding itself, the bachelor party is one of the things the groom looks forward to the most. A bachelor party is often referred to as the groom’s “last day of freedom” before he settles down and fully commits to his partner.

Outdoor bachelor parties are a great way to strengthen bonds through memorable experiences. Fun and exciting outdoor bachelor party ideas can be broadly grouped into three categories: adventurous, competitive, and chill.

Examples for each broad category mentioned above are given below. After, some things to keep in mind while planning an outdoor bachelor party are listed.

Fun Outdoor Bachelor Party Ideas

Adventurous Bachelor Party Ideas

Find a spot somewhere out in nature, set up some tents and a bonfire, and grill some food while chugging beer. Turn off your smartphones for the night and enjoy some quality time with each other by telling stories, jamming, stargazing, and so on.

Similar to camping, you need to search for hunting grounds to have this kind of outdoor bachelor party. There are plenty of public lands in America to choose from. Once the location is settled, make sure to bring some guns, enough cases of beer to last the whole day, and food to sustain you.

3. Road Trip

van road roadtrip

Take one or two cars, or even rent out a van, and embark on a trip to a scenic landmark. Depending on the path you take, you can find many interesting spots that you would have never discovered otherwise. Websites such as Roadtrippers can help you build a route according to your starting point and destination.

Rafting refers to the act of traveling down a river on a raft, either as a sport or as a hobby. Many companies offer whitewater rafting trips and packages, complete with multi-day and guided itineraries. Through these companies, you are guaranteed a fun and memorable outdoor bachelor party that requires little planning and experience.

5. Skydiving

For grooms who love seeking adrenaline, skydiving is an exciting and thrilling experience. Although considerably expensive, some may consider skydiving a worthy splurge for a bachelor party. Some companies offer package deals consisting of skydiving and other outdoor activities, such as paragliding and bungee jumping.

skiing trip

Not only will skiing provide scenic and picturesque views as you travel down slopes of snow, but it will also give you a rush of adrenaline. Moreover, you can also rent a chalet or a cabin, which may have a fireplace, floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious communal spaces, hot tubs, and so on. A rented chalet is a perfect place to wind down after a full day of excitement.

7. Scuba Diving

Scuba diving, or other similar forms of exploring the ocean, can be a unique and memorable bachelor party activity. You get to witness sea creatures as they navigate their habitat, and even interact with them. Coral reefs are a beautiful sight to behold. All in all, it can be an eye-opening experience as much as it is enjoyable.

8. Spelunking

Spelunking refers to the hobby of exploring caves. Depending on what the groom and the guests prefer, you can either book a guided tour along paths and rails, or you can venture on your own, complete with headlamps, flashlights, and unending curiosity. Every cave has different views and experiences to offer: you may find waterfalls, underwater rivers, narrow passages, and so on.

9. Destination Bachelor Party

las vegas sign

Having a specific location in mind can make the planning process easier. A popular destination for bachelor and bachelorette parties alike is Vegas , due to the abundance of options for entertainment and amusement. If your budget permits, you can also go to another country, such as France, Italy, or Greece. The most important thing to be mindful of, besides the expenses, is the timing — popular areas will have peak seasons where tourists arrive by the hundreds of thousands.

10. Space Centers

The Kennedy Space Center in Florida provides space-themed experiences such as astronaut training simulators, shuttle launch simulators, and so forth. Furthermore, ZERO-G offers the only commercial opportunity to experience actual zero gravity. These activities hit the perfect balance between seeking adrenaline and geeking out.

11. Escape Rooms

Escape rooms are an example of a real-life adventure game. The groom and his guests are trapped in a room and they are given a set amount of time to make a successful escape. In some cases, you literally have to escape — you look for maps, clues, and hidden items so that you can safely escape. Other escape rooms may require you to find a specific object to win. Everyone has to work together and handle pressure well.

12. Festivals

male audience festival

Two of the most well-known festivals are Oktoberfest and Coachella. Oktoberfest is a festival revolving around beer in which the attendees consume as much of the special brew as their liver can handle. Coachella is a music festival that gathers artists and performers from different genres. There are many more festivals worldwide that celebrate a wide array of interests. You may want to book an Airbnb or find any accommodation so you have someplace to stay before and after the festival.

13. Helicopter Tour

Many major cities and metropolitan areas offer helicopter tours to give you a better view of the region at large. It is highly different from simply seeing the skyline or the busy streets from the window of a high building; you get to appreciate the location from all angles.

Competitive Bachelor Party Ideas

14. poker night.

poker night

A game of poker requires relatively little preparation; all you need to have are some chips and a deck of cards. Set a minimum buy-in and let the games begin. You can opt to serve some grilled steaks, beer, chips, and other snacks you can get at stores.

15. Playing Sports

This can be any sport that the groom himself is a fan of, such as golf, basketball, baseball, soccer, or hockey. Rent the necessary venue and equipment, divide the guests into competing teams, and maybe even give an award to the winners.

16. Laser Tag

Like the example above, you can group your guests into two teams and play some games of laser tag. In laser tag, every player wears an infrared-sensitive vest and uses toy guns that fire laser beams. It is basically technology incorporated in a game of tag.

17. Paintball

paintball man

Paintball is highly similar to laser tag in its mechanics; its main difference is that instead of laser beams, your toy guns fire paint. Some companies offer a package that specifically caters to bachelor parties, so make sure to inquire about their deals.

In racing, you have multiple options to choose from: horseback, go-kart, motorbike, boat, race car, and more. The objective is to attain the fastest time and/or highest speed in finishing a certain course.

19. Beerlympics

The Beerlympics is a drinking competition with a set of events all related to its namesake alcoholic beverage. Examples of such events include beer pong, volume chug, rage race, and flip cup. You may have to adapt certain mechanics to fit your party size and the alcohol tolerance of each player.

Chill Bachelor Party Ideas

20. wine and beer tasting.

wine barrels

Contact local breweries and vineyards to see if they conduct tastings of their products. Through these, not only will you be supporting local businesses, but you will also be learning more about the beverages you regularly consume. You might also find your new favorite and go-to drink.

21. Cigar Tasting

Similar to wine and beer tastings, your local cigar lounges may hold cigar tastings every now and then. Tasting cigars that you would normally never even consider purchasing, perhaps because of their price, is a fitting splurge for a bachelor party.

22. Stand-up Comedy Show

Comedians often perform their set in a local venue or bar. Depending on the entertainer, the shows may get raunchy and risqué. By letting the comedian know that your bachelor party is currently taking place, they can personalize some of their jokes — most of the time, the comedian will rib and tease the bachelors.

23. Bar Hopping

bar red light

As the name denotes, bar hopping simply means to go from one bar to another. You can do this by allotting a certain amount of time for each bar, or just simply deciding when the perfect time to move would be. Every bar offers a different experience, from the cocktails they serve to the kind of music they play; likewise, you also get to meet a more diverse group of people to enjoy the night with.

24. Museum Hopping

Although museum hopping is not the type of activity that would come to mind when talking about bachelor parties, it can be the ideal activity for a man who loves art, culture, and history. Some museums and galleries hold adults-only viewings which are typically held at night. During these hours, drinks are available and you can roam around the exhibits.

25. Restaurant Hopping

Sample different kinds of food as you go restaurant hopping. Ideally, you would intersperse other activities throughout the day, so as to avoid getting full and spoiling the experience. In a way, eating meals from various cultures can be a substitute for actually traveling the world, as the food itself is a representation of the specific culture it comes from.

Things to Keep in Mind When Planning an Outdoor Bachelor Party

Some party ideas are more expensive than others.

As mentioned earlier, budget is an important aspect to consider when planning an outdoor bachelor party. Some of these activities might be cheaper because they require less equipment and/or less planning; concurrently, some might be more expensive because they require more professional assistance and/or a lot of traveling is involved.

Make Sure the Groom is On Board

It is typically the groomsmen’s responsibility to plan the bachelor party, with some assistance from the groom himself here and there. Regardless, the groom should be okay and comfortable with the itinerary of his bachelor party. His interests, hobbies, likes, and dislikes should all be taken into consideration. For instance, if the groom wants to stay sober during his bachelor party , then everyone must respect that. Otherwise, he may not fully enjoy the night ahead.

Some Ideas are Riskier than Others

Adventurous bachelor parties are inherently riskier than competitive and chill bachelor parties. There are a lot of opportunities for something wrong to happen in activities such as rafting, skydiving, spelunking, and helicopter tours.

By no means should this deter you from going through with those activities; rather, this is a reminder to make sure that you are fully aware of the risks at hand, fully informed of how to keep yourself safe, and fully prepared in case accidents happen.

Final Thoughts

A bachelor party can be made all the more special and unforgettable by holding it outdoors with fun activities. Regardless of whether you choose to have an adventurous, competitive, or chill bachelor party, what’s important is that you spend it with the people you love and have an amazing bachelor party.

Dude-Bro Camping Bachelor Party Trip

Dude-Bro Camping Bachelor Party Trip

If getting in touch with your inner survivor sounds like your idea of a great bachelor party, camping is the way to go.  This is awesome for adventurous and nature-loving grooms.  Another major plus?  It won’t break the bank.  With so many beautiful sites to choose from, finding the perfect one can be overwhelming.  Whether you’re looking for a place to pitch a tent or a cabin in the woods (no, that’s not cheating), you don’t need to worry because we’re here to help.  Here are five of our favorite campgrounds for throwing an unforgettable bachelor party.

Voyageurs National Park in Minnesota

Voyageurs National Park

Crystal clear waters, an abundance of wildlife, and miles of lush forest characterize this incredible park.  In addition to hiking trails and overlooks, the main attractions at this site are canoeing and kayaking.  They offer “isolated” camping, so you don’t have to worry about disturbing others or worse, others disturbing you.  Just make sure you double-check your packing list because are no nearby shops.  Another thing to consider for this spot, as it is water based, you can only access it by boat.  Don’t worry, you can easily book a charter on their website.

Assateague Island in Maryland

Assateague Island

If you want to combine camping with beach going, Assateague is your place.  You’ll have a blast hiking, biking, and driving around on ATVs (try not to crash).  You won’t be the only stallions on the island, but we don’t think you’ll mind.  This unique locale is home to approximately 150 wild horses.  Remember, they’re not ponies, they’re wild animals.  You wouldn’t try to straddle a bear, would you (if you would, you might need help from another website, or maybe a doctor)? Make sure you bring plenty of sunscreen and insect repellant.

Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina

Pisgah National Forest

Pisgah National Forest has sometimes been called “Land of Waterfalls.”   If that doesn’t grab you now, it will when you see it (you can thank us later).  Hike and bike through the Appalachian Highlands (on one of the forest’s four long-distance trails if you’re up for the trek) and soak in all the nature you can handle.  This location also offers “dispersed” camping so no worries about neighbors.

Sequoia National Park in California

Sequoia National Park

Even if big trees don’t get you excited, you definitely won’t be bored at Sequoia.  Of course there’s hiking and biking, but you can also rock climb, explore Crystal Cave, horseback ride, or even ski and snowshoe in the winter.  You have to see this place to believe it.  It’s the perfect place to sip champagne and just enjoy nature.  Hey, you might even become a tree hugger.

Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska

Denali National Park and Preserve

If you’re willing to travel a bit, or you just happen to live in Alaska, head to Denali National Park for the camping experience of a lifetime.  This is an incredible place to go backpacking among moose, bears, foxes, and wolves.  You also have the option for rock climbing on North America’s tallest peak (Mount McKinley), but seriously, only attempt this with proper equipment and the supervision of a professional (the bride will be beyond upset if her husband-to-be comes back in pieces).  If the groom is a dog-lover, you’ll definitely want to stop by one of the sled dog kennels to say hi to mushing legends and energetic young pups training for their first Iditarod.

Tips (for all campgrounds):

Make a reservation whenever possible.  Even though many campgrounds offer sites that are open on a first come, first served basis, it’s much better to be safe than sorry.

Make sure you store your food properly.  You wouldn’t want uninvited guests to show up, would you?

Stick together.  Yeah, you might not think a buddy system is necessary for a group of big strong men, but trust us, when cell reception is nonexistent and you’re stumbling around off the trail, you won’t want to be alone.

Consider the season.  If you’re throwing a winter bachelor party, you might want to look into other options.  A freezing groom is not a happy groom.

BYOB (obviously) and don’t forget the bottle opener.  That would suck.

Get all permits/passes/licenses beforehand.  A camping bachelor party without these is like a wedding with no marriage license: not possible.

Affordable Outdoor Adventure Bachelor Party Ideas That The Whole Group Will Enjoy

Y ou're tasked with planning an unforgettable bachelor party, but you're on a budget. You've come to the right place! We've got affordable outdoor adventure ideas that won't break the bank. You'll find everything from camping to white-water rafting, mountain biking to fishing, and even paintball.

Get ready to create incredible memories with your crew without emptying your wallet. Let's dive in and explore these exciting, wallet-friendly options together.

Budget-Friendly Camping Bachelor Parties

If you're searching for an inexpensive yet exciting budget-friendly outdoor adventure bachelor party idea, consider planning a camping trip. Opting for the great outdoors instead of a conventional party won't only save you money but will also create unforgettable experiences.

No matter which of the other ideas you might select below - a good old fashioned camping experience can be the core of pretty much any other idea so you can continue your debauchery er bonding until the weee house of the morning.

With these tips, you're set for a memorable bachelor camping trip.

Affordable Rafting Adventures

While you might think white-water rafting is out of your budget, you'll be surprised to find out how affordable it can be for your bachelor party. With packages designed for groups, you can split costs, making it a budget-friendly, thrill-seeking adventure. Equipment affordability is a big plus, as rental gear is often included in the package price.

Rafting safety measures are also to be taken seriously. Trained professionals guide you through each rapid, ensuring everyone's comfort and safety, while still maintaining the adrenaline rush. You'll bond as a team, navigating the rushing waters together.

However, we recognize that what's chuck roast for one guy is another man's filet. As such, instead of focusing on hitting the big rapids, try a float trip instead. Here you can either rent tubes from a company that will collect the gear and return you back to base - or if you have a group and want to float down the river with a case of beer cruising along in the cool water next to you and end up at a campsite where your group can continue the adventure ... well ... that sounds pretty good too!

Best is that tube rentals are typically less than $20 and you can  buy them on Amazon  for not much more depending on how fancy you want to get.

Take the leap and plan this unforgettable adventure. You'll have the time of your lives, making lasting memories without breaking the bank.

Low-Cost Mountain Biking Excursions

For your next bachelor party, consider a low-cost mountain biking excursion that's not only exhilarating but also won't empty your wallets. It's an adventure that fosters camaraderie while providing a healthy dose of adrenaline. While mountain biking parks might be more epic of an experience, you can also just take a trail through the woods on a public park and stop somewhere for a catered picnic.

Key factors to consider:

  • Trail selection:  Opt for trails that match your group's fitness level and biking skills. Research local trails, check for free or low-cost options, and ensure you're prepared for any challenges. A great place to do this is the  Nature’s Playbook app , which has videos and insider tips on a whole range of recreational activities. For example, it has information how to find a trailhead, the degree of difficulty of a trail equipment rental outfitters and even places to eat in the surrounding area..
  • Beginner trails:  Flat, wide, and without technical features.
  • Advanced trails:  Steep, narrow, with obstacles.
  • Bike maintenance:  It's crucial to ensure all bikes are in top shape before hitting the trails. Consider a professional tune-up to minimize any problems when you’re on your trip or make sure your rental company has options for on-trail tuning.

With these points in mind, you're set for an unforgettable, wallet-friendly adventure.

Economical Fishing Trip Ideas

Although you may not have considered it before, planning an economical fishing trip can be a great way to celebrate your bachelor party.. It's a chance for you and your buddies to bond in nature's playground, with nothing but the open water, your fishing rods, and the thrill of the catch.

Tackle selection is key. You don't need fancy gear; stick with basic rods, reels and a variety of baits to ensure a successful day of fishing. While you can go all-out and hire a top tuna charter captain or chase black marlin - closer to home cheaper options exist as well.

For instance, why not gather the guys around a local lake, and each guy contributes something to the groom's "Ultimate Tackle Box" - this could be practical gear like lures and jigs or it could be fun items and prank gear too.

This allows you to focus on the camaraderie, the anticipation of the bite, and the satisfaction of reeling in your catch.

5 Reasons Camping Is a Perfect Bachelor Party Activity

March 26, 2021 3 min read

Organizing a bachelor party is one of the most special things you’ll ever do in your life – except getting married, of course! Still, for lots of men, this is a chance to say goodbye to their previous lifestyle and enter their marriage in the best way possible. That’s why finding amazing ideas for your bachelor party is simply a must, and going camping is one of the best ways to do that. If that’s something you might be interested in as well, here are five reasons that will prove to you why camping is a perfect bachelor party activity.

Adrenaline rush

If you want to have a great time with your buddies before getting married, you’ll certainly want to opt for activities that will boost your adrenaline and make you feel great. That’s why going for adrenaline-packed ideas is getting more and more popular in today’s world, and what’s even better is that there are more ideas than you can imagine.

From paintball and laser tag to rock climbing and a road trip, these things will help you have a memorable bachelor party – or even a bachelor weekend ! – and have tons of fun in the open. Of course, you can do all these things while camping and enjoying the wilderness, so this really is a win-win scenario for all adventurous bachelors out there.

Bonding with buddies

guys camping

No matter how friendly and outgoing you are, the chances are you don’t have as much time for your friends as you used to back in the day. This is particularly true if you’re getting ready to tie the knot and investing all your free time and energy into planning the wedding. That’s why spending some alone time with your friends is a great idea and that’s something that will surely help you reconnect with them.

Bonding with your buddies is important for preserving your relationship with them and staying in touch after you get married. This is an issue tons of men around the world are struggling with, but if you manage to spend some time with your best friends before the wedding, you’ll surely keep your relationship healthy and vibrant in the years to come as well.

Doing something new

When throwing their bachelor parties, most guys stick to simple things that are easy to organize and don’t require too much planning. Unfortunately, no matter how enjoyable these default bachelor parties are, they’re actually quite boring. But, if you pick an outdoor bachelor party, you’ll get a chance to do something new and exciting.

From setting up your tent to preparing food in the middle of nowhere, camping is as thrilling and manly as it gets. This is especially true if you get properly prepared and stay safe while you’re camping. Stuff like the protective Tekto Gear might help you make the most of your trip and feel like a true survivor while camping with your buddies, so make sure you pack enough useful gadgets with you!

Great social media feed

bonfire on the beach

Since you’ll be miles away from your fiancé and other important people in your life during your bachelor party, capturing amazing photos and videos might be a great way to stay in touch with them. In addition to that, being in the open will give you a chance to do great things for your social media feed and get amazing content that will make your followers and subscribers go crazy.

What you need to do is quite simple – take some time out of your busy partying schedule and find unexpected locations that look more beautiful than you’ve imagined. Get your buddies involved in the process and save some photos you’ll remember for the rest of your life!

Boosting your mental health

This is something most people are unaware of, but pre-wedding stress is a huge factor in the weeks and months before the ceremony. The majority of people believe that only brides feel this stress, but the truth is quite the opposite. In fact, grooms feel the same amount of stress and need to find a way to forget all about it.

Going away with your friends and spending some time in the open is great for your mental health and all that stress that’s been building up inside you. Pre-wedding stress shouldn’t be ignored and dealing with it before the wedding is the best way to go, which is why a camping trip might be a perfect opportunity to start feeling better and less anxious.

As you can see, there are numerous reasons why a camping trip is a great way to spend your bachelor party, so don’t hesitate any longer and start planning your camping trip right now!

The 17 top bachelor party destinations for 2024.

Plan the ideal pre-wedding getaway to celebrate the groom.

Top Bachelor Party Destinations

From big cities to gorgeous beaches , there's no shortage of fantastic destinations in the U.S. and nearby countries for bachelor parties. If you want your pre-wedding celebration to be raucous and packed with plenty of nightlife, consider hot spots like New York or New Orleans. But options for a more relaxed vibe are aplenty too, from a nature-laden Costa Rica adventure to the Canadian foodie destination of Montreal. Here are some of the top bachelor party destinations to visit with your groomsmen in 2024.

New York City

Harrison Bader #22 of the New York Yankees hits a home run during the six inning while the Houston Astros are in a defensive shift formation in game four of the American League Championship Series at Yankee Stadium on October 23, 2022 in the Bronx borough of New York City.

New York is a choose-your-own-adventure kind of destination for a bachelor party, with everything on the menu: culture, nightlife, sports, luxury drinking and dining, and anything else you might want. You could take a classic route, opting for a hearty meal at a famed steakhouse like Peter Luger in Brooklyn (hot tip: reserve well in advance) and a raucous booze cruise on the Hudson River. Other great options for a groom in New York City include visiting a cigar lounge for some fine hand-rolled tobacco, heading on a craft beer crawl through Brooklyn , or catching a Yankees or Mets game (if you're visiting April to September).

Alternatively, make the trip a bit more cultured by sampling the huge range of cuisines on offer in ultra-diverse Queens, then check out the city's numerous art and history museums. Whatever you choose, know that this might not be the best budget-friendly destination: The average rate for New York City hotels can reach more than $500 per night, although you can save some money by visiting at off-peak times like in the winter.

Atlantic City, New Jersey

Aerial of Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Atlantic City is sometimes seen as a mini-Vegas, because it's also a hub for casinos, though smaller and less flashy. But this destination has some serious positives of its own for bachelor parties: Atlantic City is more compact and easy to get around without a car or public transit, since most of the action concentrated in the city's boardwalk area. If you're there in warmer months, numerous beaches are right at your doorstep – something that's totally off the table in the deserts of Las Vegas.

The Atlantic City casinos are open 24 hours, and gamblers are offered free drinks, just like in Vegas (although some casinos will only offer them if you're actually gambling). The Borgata casino has hosted big-name shows with icons like Jerry Seinfeld, and the ample club scene spotlights music ranging from retro '70s disco at Boogie Nights through to upbeat EDM at HQ2 Nightclub.

South Beach, Florida

Street with lights in South Beach, Florida, at night.

The beating heart of Miami Beach , South Beach is a bachelor party destination for those who want to mix some fun in the sun with lively nightlife. The festivities don't only happen after dark: Pool parties are a regular occurrence in this part of town and across the water in Miami proper, and some nightclubs keep the revelry going through to the next day – such as Clubspace and E11even. With so much access to water, it's also possible to hire a boat via sites like Boatsetter, which offers an Airbnb-style rental service.

If you want to skip the planning, various companies also offer bachelor party packages featuring a range of activities for South Beach and Miami . This location is definitely a more hedonistic destination for bachelor parties – but if you need a break from South Beach, you can hop over to Miami. Go for Cuban food and cigars around Calle Ocho in Little Havana, or head to Wynwood to check out street art and galleries before grabbing a few craft beers at Cerveceria La Tropical.

New Orleans

Close up of saxophone.

New Orleans' famed Bourbon Street is the epicenter of the city's bachelor party activity, with copious bars and a variety of adult entertainment. Bar crawls are made easy by the fact that you can drink in public in the city's French Quarter (which includes Bourbon Street) as long as you avoid glass containers – or you can even rent large balconies to take in the scene from above.

The city is also brimming with history, not to mention great restaurants . Consider eateries like Toups' Meatery and Cochon Butcher for some meaty Cajun or barbecue meals. Or, stop by one of James Beard award-winning chef Nina Compton's two restaurants – Compère Lapin and Bywater American Bistro – to see how she fuses Caribbean, Cajun and French influences with flair. New Orleans is a serious destination for live music as well, with jazz and honky-tonk bars making up a key part of the city's nightlife. Preservation Hall is one iconic, can't-miss venue for it. All up, if you want a bachelor party that mixes boozy nightlife with culture, New Orleans is a good bet.

Key West, Florida

Kayaks parked in shallow mangroves of Key West, Florida.

Mixing together relaxed tropical vibes, historic ambiance and a party atmosphere, Key West is a unique bachelor party destination. During the day, you can enjoy the warm Gulf waters with activities like paddleboarding, kayaking through mangroves and snorkeling, or get a hit of culture with a visit to the historic former home of Ernest Hemingway to meet the six-toed cats. By night, tuck into freshly caught fish at Key West's many seafood spots, before hitting the bars and dancefloors of Duval Street, the heart of the city's nightlife.

As for places to stay in Key West , top options range from cool boutique hotels in heritage buildings like The Conch House to big establishments such as Opal Key Resort & Marina or the Hyatt Centric Key West Resort and Spa . Note that Key West's airport only has direct flights from a limited number of cities (all of which are in the eastern half of the U.S.), but it can make for a scenic drive from Miami.

South Carolina

The skyline of Myrtle Beach on the Grand Strand.

There's a trio of great bachelor party destinations spread along the South Carolina coastline. Up north is Myrtle Beach , which offers beaches and outdoor fun spanning golf to adrenaline-pumping water sports. While this city might have a family-friendly reputation, there's still quite a nightlife scene here: It's not Miami Beach, but options include brewpubs and distilleries, beachside bars and a few clubs to choose from. Further south is Charleston , a great option for foodies: Chow down on shrimp and grits, fried chicken or barbecue, and relax it all off at nearby Folly Beach.

Lastly is Hilton Head Island on the state's south coast. Expect a much more low-key vibe than your traditional bachelor party town – this is not a place where you'll party for 24 hours, but there is still a solid selection of bars and live music venues to check out. Otherwise, you can have a chilled-out weekend of golf, fishing and time at the beach.

Austin, Texas

Colorful bars, clubs and businesses at the famous Sixth Street music and entertainment district of downtown Austin, Texas, illuminated at night.

For a bachelor party loaded with beer and bands, head to the capital of Texas, dubbed the "Live Music Capital of the World." With dozens of craft breweries as well as areas like Sixth and Rainey streets that are loaded with bars, Austin ensures partygoers in search of a wild time are well looked after.

But this destination can also appeal to those who don't want to party so hard: It's an exceptional food city, with culinary options to satisfy all your guests' tastes. Sample some Tex-Mex or barbecue (like the famed Franklin Barbecue), or opt for fancier farm-to-table fare at top restaurants such as Dai Due. You can also make like the locals and head to Lake Travis just outside the city for some fun in the sun. You'll find all kinds of boat rentals available there, from Jet Skis to party barges, plus other activities such as zip lining.

Nashville, Tennessee

The Nashville skyline at sunset.

Music City may have a reputation as more of a bachelorette party destination , but it's also a great choice for a guys trip. As a hub for the country music industry, Nashville will suit a music-loving groom to a tee – but there are attractions and activities beyond catching a show someplace like the famed Grand Ole Opry. The food scene is top-quality, and you can't go wrong with hot chicken or barbecue, two of the city's staples.

The nightlife in Nashville is also appealing: The city is ideal for bar crawls, with honky-tonk bars offering live music on Broadway and around the city. You can plan your own route, but there are also numerous companies that can arrange a guided drinking tour for you – on foot or on a party bike. Of course, it wouldn't be a visit to Tennessee without sampling some of the state's best whiskey at distilleries like Corsair Artisan.

The Las Vegas Strip in the evening.

Arguably the most renowned bachelor party destination in the U.S., Las Vegas is tailor-made for this kind of celebration. The city is stacked with all the ingredients for a successful party, however you choose to spend it. Top-notch hotels , nightclubs, gambling, great restaurants and spectacular shows are available in spades in Sin City – and you can find it all without even leaving the famed Strip, the approximately 4-mile stretch of casinos and hotels that host many top Vegas attractions . Splurge on a high-end hotel such as the Bellagio , or save your cash with more affordable but still reputable options like The Mirage .

Dining options in Vegas range from buffets to Michelin-calibre restaurants, and entertainment can take the form of anything from edgy magic shows by Criss Angel or major musical acts like U2 and The Killers through to more "adult" options for the groom-to-be. If planning isn't your forte, you can find bachelor party packages with perks like limo rides, bottle service at clubs, hockey match tickets and more. It's also worth taking a day off from partying to try out adrenaline-fueled activities such as water sports on nearby Lake Mead or even a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon . Unsurprisingly, with so much to offer, Las Vegas is also a hot spot for bachelorette parties.

Three surfers on La Jolla Beach, San Diego.

If the groom-to-be isn't inclined toward the brash debauchery of places like Vegas and Miami Beach, consider San Diego . This California city boasts a hefty range of festivity options, thanks to the long, beach-lined coast and lively neighborhoods – including the historic Gaslamp Quarter, a 16-block downtown area packed with bars and restaurants. Consider a bar crawl through that part of the city: Companies like San Diego Pub Crawler can take the lead, if you want to offload the planning. A range of clubs await you in the area, if the mood strikes.

During daylight hours, take to the sea. The funky town of Ocean Beach is home to numerous surf schools (after all, this part of SoCal is a serious surfing hotspot). It's also a great place to hang out and take in the bohemian vibe, perhaps while stopping by one of the various breweries or taco stands. Alternatively, the town of La Jolla, a bit further north, is known for its stunning coastline populated with sea lions, surf and robust art scene. As a bonus, San Diego is a good year-round choice for a bachelor party thanks to its mild climate that rarely gets particularly hot or cold.

Aspen, Colorado

Ski lift in Aspen on a sunny day.

If the groom and his friends are skiing enthusiasts, why not hit the slopes for the big pre-wedding party? Aspen is home to one of Colorado's premier ski resorts and well suited to a bachelor party thanks to its disproportionately large nightlife scene for its size. Obviously, the main draw here during daylight hours is skiing and snowboarding: There are four mountains with nearly 40 lifts between them, so you won't be starved for choice. You'll also find a selection of ski schools if you've got any beginners in your group.

Hotels and vacation properties abound in the town. Consider a stay at Limelight Hotel Aspen if you want a place that balances an energetic après-ski vibe while also offering comfort and relaxing amenities like hot tubs and a heated pool. As for food, Aspen's restaurants run the gamut from classic taverns with burgers and wings to ultra-upscale sushi. The après-ski scene is also bustling, with bars aplenty and dance floors at places like live music venue Belly Up or the Escobar nightclub. Be warned, though, that Aspen has a reputation as one of the most expensive ski towns in the country, so prepare to spend a pretty penny.

Portland, Oregon

Skyline of Portland, Oregon, with Mount Hood in the background with fall colors.

Portland's quirky reputation might make it seem an unconventional choice, but if the bachelor is the kind of guy with an appreciation for top-notch drinks and food, Portland is an excellent option. Distillery Row – home to a bunch of independent craft distilleries – is a great place to start. You can book a tour with an outfit like Around Portland Tours, or just pick a few distilleries and guide yourself. Portland is also stacked with craft breweries, so touring those is an option too – and it wouldn't be Portland if you didn't move between the brewpubs on a party bike.

On the food side of things, choices abound, from a pizza scene that could rival New York to spicy Southeast Asian cuisine to French-inspired fare such as at Le Pigeon. An excursion into nature is a possibility as well, with the Oregon coast and Columbia River Gorge close by. If it's of interest for your bachelor party, Portland does have a surprisingly wide range of more adult entertainment too.

Scottsdale, Arizona

Golf course in Scottsdale, Arizona, at golden hour.

With resorts and golf courses galore, Scottsdale is ripe for the kind of bachelor weekend that mixes activities with a good amount of chilling by a pool. Some resorts offer more of a party scene than others – the W Scottsdale is one notable candidate, with its regular pool parties. If you want to save the hassle of booking rooms for everyone, it's easy to find larger houses that'll accommodate a group, too. Stick nearer to Old Town (sometimes called downtown) if you want to be close to restaurants and nightlife.

There's absolutely no shortage of golf courses around, but if you don't want to commit to 18 holes, consider visiting Topgolf, a high-tech driving range where you can hang out with beers and compete over who has the best drive. Outdoor activities are on the table too: One popular option is to head out into the desert for some off-roading in an ATV. Beware if you're planning the party for the summer months, though, as Scottsdale gets searingly hot.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Nightscape of Cabo San Lucas Marina.

Grab your passports and fly down to this popular resort town on the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula. As Cabo San Lucas is a popular vacation destination, all-inclusive resorts are relatively common here, allowing the groom and his crew to eat, drink and be merry for a fixed daily rate – though for a bachelor party you'll probably want to opt for one of the adults-only resorts , like the upscale Marquis Los Cabos .

Of course, you can skip the all-inclusive buffet and explore the excellent Mexican cuisine on offer in the city, as well as the various beach bars and nightclubs, particularly around Plaza Bonita. With the beautiful natural surroundings, you'll likely want to get out and about. The waters around Cabo are renowned for deep-sea fishing; other go-to activities include sailing, golfing, swimming with sharks or just hanging out at the beach.

Three surfers walking along the beach, Playa Guiones, in Costa Rica as sunset.

If you want to skip more obvious spots for bachelor parties outside the U.S. like Cabo, consider hopping a little further south to the jungles and beaches of Costa Rica. The Pacific Coast town of Jacó is one of the best options for a classic boys trip, as it's more of a party town with options spanning casual beach bars to casinos and clubs. It's also a big surf destination (particularly at Playa Hermosa, just south of Jacó), so you can try to catch some waves or get in touch with nature by scoping out a volcano or riding ATVs through the rainforest.

To get to Costa Rica , you'll fly into San José, the country's capital, which might be worth visiting on a longer trip for a little food and culture (though it's not really the country's major tourist drawcard); the airport sits about 50 miles by road from Jacó. If you're not looking for a party-centric trip, there are countless other options, particularly if the groom is the outdoorsy type, from the jungles around Monteverde to windsurfing and hot springs in Arenal. Ecotourism is huge in Costa Rica, so everything from beach days to zip lining and white water rafting is on the table.

Saint Paul Street in Montreal at night.

Although it's less than two hours by plane from cities like New York, this Canadian city feels a world removed from the U.S. (it's in a different country, after all), thanks to its French colonial history. Montreal is a popular bachelor party destination – and a relatively budget-friendly one due to its exchange rate. More importantly, it's stacked with excellent restaurants and bars. Meaty cuisine is well represented here: Smoked meat is an iconic Montreal dish, available from delis like Schwartz's Deli, or else there's higher-end dining like Au Pied de Cochon, home of foie gras poutine.

By night, revelers can hit up Crescent Street or Saint-Laurent Boulevard for a bar or club crawl. With the city known for its debaucherous history (particularly during the Prohibition period occurring south of the border), there's also no shortage of gentlemen's clubs in the city. Those looking for a drink without a heavy-duty party vibe might consider areas like Saint-Henri and Little Italy, where trendy, lower-key spots are always opening their doors. Take note: Montreal may not be a comfortable destination all year, because while the nightlife is still active in winter, temperatures can be bitterly cold, dropping as low as negative 20 degrees.

Cartagena, Colombia

Cartagena de Indias cityscape with Bocagrande in the background in Colombia.

If you're on the market for an international bachelor party without falling back on obvious (or arguably overdone) options like Cancún , consider Cartagena, a beautiful old city on the Caribbean coast known for its beaches. While South America may seem far, it's only a three-hour flight from Miami, with direct flights from some other East Coast cities as well. You can expect fantastic weather year-round; the rainy season peaks around October and makes traveling there more affordable but isn't regarded as particularly bad.

Cartagena is a great option for the kind of guy who wants a big mix of activities : You can head out snorkeling or fishing, hit up a beach club on Tierra Bomba, or dip into mud baths at nearby volcano El Totumo. To sleep, choose between areas like Bocagrande, with its high-rise modern hotels and casinos, or the old city center for a more cultured, historic vibe. Head to Getsemaní if you want more of a local experience with a mix of nightlife.

Daytime bachelor party ideas

Nighttime bachelor party activities.

  • Bachelor parties don't have to be crazy events, as you can have something classy and create a great experience for your group.
  • Our list of ideas is comprehensive and contains ideas for all types of folks.
  • Just because we use the term "bachelor party" there are a lot of other instances where these event ideas will work.

Let's get started with bachelor party planning!

Ah, the bachelor party. The pre-wedding ritual of celebrating a groom before the wedding. Typically, while the bride-to-be spends her time at her bachelorette party, the groom-to-be would hold bachelor parties that involve a weekend away, a few nice meals, drinking, and other daytime activities that suit the groom’s style with his close friend(s) and groomsmen .

We’ve come to understand that a great bachelor party consists of wild weekends full of debauchery—and they certainly can be. However, don’t get caught up in the stereotype: A bachelor party can be anything you want it to be. This Reddit thread proves it.

Zola has compiled a comprehensive list of ideas for bachelor party games and activities. So, whether you’re into the great outdoors, a super sports fan, or want to settle into the traditional bachelor party planning mentality, we have ideas for you.

Once you’ve read through the best bachelor party ideas below, read through our step-by-step guide on planning a bachelor party to really get the wheels in motion.

Bachelor party ideas - weekend getaways

If your bachelor party guests live in various states (or even countries), it might be best to plan a weekend away . Whether meeting in a centralized location, or somewhere new and exciting, there are many different types of multi-day travel ideas for you and your friends to celebrate your bachelor party .

1. Rent a cabin in the woods

If you’re someone who likes the idea of hanging out with your friends out in nature, try going this direction. Through platforms like Airbnb , you’ll be able to secure an amazing house or cabin that fits your entire group.

2. Visit a national park

The recent craze of collecting National Park stamps has nature lovers traveling near and far to see the best Mother Earth has to offer. Whether you decide on the Florida Everglades or California’s Yosemite there are 61 different parks to choose from in the USA.

3. Head off to Las Vegas

It’s quintessential bachelor party territory. So grab a few buddies and head over to Sin City. Just remember: What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.

4. Take a cruise

Cruise ships are a unique bachelor party option suitable for everyone in your bachelor party thanks to a bevy of entertaining options like bars, casinos, and pool decks.

5. Go camping

Some of the best bachelor party camping ideas are hiking, fishing, or just hanging out with friends around a campfire.

6. Visit the Kentucky Bourbon Trail

This is one of the best bachelor party ideas for bourbon lovers, and the area surrounding Louisville is a must-go. Take a bus tour of popular bourbon distilleries—without having to worry about a designated driver.

7. Go to a live music festival

If you and your crew are big on music and partying, hit a major music festival together to enjoy the live band and night raves.

8. Visit a new country

If getting a new stamp on your passport sounds like an amazing idea, grab your crew and venture out. Check airlines for deals and jump on an opportunity.

9. Rent an RV

Outdoor bachelor party ideas don’t always have to involve the elements. While road tripping with your buddies may take longer than a weekend, rent an RV and make your way down a scenic road intended to be covered in a couple of days. Try the California coast or the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Carolinas.

10. Off to the races

If dressing in seersucker and rocking a koozie are two of your favorite things, you might want to head off to the horse races. From the Kentucky Derby to the Preakness races in Maryland, there are many big events to choose from where you and your friends can sip on Mint Juleps and enjoy the weekend.

11. Rent a ski cabin

When it comes to the best winter bachelor party ideas, renting a ski cabin is among the top. Being in an A-frame in the middle of the mountains is a great way to add in a sporting adventure while kicking off your bachelor party celebration through bonding with your friends.

12. Go for a hike

Setting out on a day hike is a great way to enjoy your surroundings and have plenty of time for meaningful moments with your friends. Sometimes cheap bachelor party ideas like this one are the best for a little bonding time.

13. Float down a river

Grab an inner tube and float along the river, if possible. Some locations even have bars and restaurants at various stops along your tube ride.

14. Sign up for an obstacle course

Instead of an individual or singular event, try signing up for an obstacle course that puts you together in teams. This is one of the most memorable sober bachelor party ideas that you’ll all enjoy.

15. Try paintballing

If competition is your thing, split into teams for a few rounds of paintball outside.

16. Throw a backyard BBQ

Fire up the grill, get out the floaties (if you have access to a pool), and throw an awesome BBQ bachelor party. If you or your friends don’t have an outlet to host a BBQ party, try looking online to see if you can rent a house in your area for the day.

17. Hit a food and wine festival

Looking for bachelor party food ideas for a groom who’s a foodie? Bring together the most delicious celebration by hitting up a food and wine festival. From Disney’s Epcot to the Catalina Wine Mixer, food and wine festivals are always a huge hit. Look up local food festivals nearby or in the surrounding cities.

18. Take a brewery tour

Many cities around the country pride themselves on their expansion of craft breweries. While places like Denver and Asheville have become popular, look around for local breweries in your city and see what flights of beer or tours they’d be happy to offer you and your friends for a bachelor party. Jump in a party bus and let someone else take the wheel for the day while you sit back and enjoy with friends.

19. Go on a food tour

You can live in a city or neighborhood for years and not know about all the best eats. A food tour is a great way to appease the empty stomach and the tastebuds.

20. Visit a vineyard

While you may need to head out of a city for this one, you may find that a beautiful vineyard is closer than you imagined. Find one within a few hours of you and enjoy a day full of wine tasting and cheese.

21. Go to a monster truck rally

Watch cars crush other cars—a truly unique experience!

22. Buy tickets to NASCAR

There are so many motorways consistently hosting NASCAR races. For your bachelor party, pick a track closest to you and see what driving fast really means.

23. Take a white water rafting trip

Nothing says teamwork like sitting in a boat with your buddies as you’re scaling down the rapids.

24. Rent ATVs

Ride your way through some rough terrain on ATVs.

25. Go hunting

Okay, so this is one of the more unique bachelor party ideas on our list: Skeet shooting. Hunting's humane cousin, skeet shooting requires a level of precision and skill. Compete against your friends to see who has the highest levels of concentration and dexterity.

26. Learn a new skill

Whether you try painting, cooking, or axe throwing, find a local artisan who can teach your crew something new.

27. Do a night of go-kart racing

Go-karts are fun no matter what age you are. Put the pedal down and whoop it up. This idea is a good one for alcohol-free friends.

28. Take a risk

Looking for more adventurous bachelor party ideas? Go sky diving or bungee jumping. Embrace your fear of heights and try jumping out of an airplane before you say ‘I do’.

29. Rock climb

Whether on inside boulders or out in nature, there are plenty of mountains to be climbed by you and your guys.

30. Visit a theme park

If you love rollercoasters, find the closest one and see how many times you and your friends can ride the most thrilling one.

Look up local tours or experiences via booking platforms. It may surprise you what you learn that your home city or the city you’re staying in has to offer.

32. Go fishing

There’s a fish in your area to catch. A fishing trip is a great way to bond and pass the time with your friends for a memorable bachelor party.

33. Learn to surf

While this activity pertains to those closest to the ocean, surfing is a great athletic activity that will count as your workout for the weekend.

34. Play competition games

Speaking of competition, bring the edge up a notch by having your party compete in competitive games. This can be anything from beer Olympics to friendly pick-up basketball.

35. Participate in a scavenger hunt

Don’t assume that low key bachelor party ideas are any less fun than those that require more time or money. Divide your party into teams and compete in a local scavenger hunt game—or design your own.

36. Go golfing

If the groom-to-be is big into his sports, consider some bachelor party golf ideas. It's a great way to enjoy hours of bonding while spending time outside with your friends. Bonus points if you and your friends have similar skill sets and can compete out on the course.

Whether you’re searching for a sky of stars atop a mountain or in a field of fireflies, nature can add a surreal lens to your bachelor activities.

46. Go to a sporting event

There’s almost always a pro-sports game happening close by—even better if you go see the groom’s favorite team.

47. Hit the arcade or do laser tag

Barcades—bar and arcade combination locations are popping up in most major cities. Sip on drinks and play your favorite old-school video games or test those rusty laser tag skills.

How to Throw a Bachelorette Party for Your Friend Who Loves to Camp

three women holding beers near a tent in chairs while camping

Bachelorette parties bring to mind crazy adventures, irreverent behavior, and the occasional hangover. But the wild club scene is not for everyone, especially for bachelorettes who prefer a brew around the campfire over shots and strobe lights. What better place to celebrate an outdoorsy bride-to-be than at a campground, where everybody’s already using their outside voice and you won’t need a designated driver for the evening?

Camping Bachelorette Parties Are The New Trend For Outdoor-Loving Ladies

Three women holding drinks and flowers with trees surrounding them at a camping bachelorette party

If you are the maid of honor, the best friend, or even the bride herself just getting it done, a camping bachelorette party is a nontraditional way to celebrate friendship and an upcoming wedding . But planning a camping bachelorette party is not the same as planning a camping trip. Here’s what you need to think about first.

Determine Your Bachelorette’s Camping Style

Start with the bachelorette. Does she prefer comfort and good wifi access? Or would she rather not see a single other person for the whole weekend? Does she thrive on adrenaline-pumping adventure, or would she be happier playing never-have-I-ever around the campfire? Maybe she already has the spot picked out, or you’re planning to surprise her.

The tricky part about bachelorette parties is striking a balance between what the bachelorette wants and the group as a whole. Larger groups may need to focus on campgrounds with group camping areas, while smaller groups have more flexibility. Your guest list might also dictate your camping location: are the attendees experienced campers or do they fall into the category of friends who don’t camp?

The answers to these questions can help inform your choice of camping location. Fortunately, camping bachelorette party options are versatile so you’ve got a range of options.

Glampgrounds

Large tent with colorful carpets and fuzzy chairs with tree silhouette in background

Glamping offers a level of comfort that makes planning easier, like catered meals, bedding, and tents for everyone. The associated cost is there, of course, but it can be comparable to catching Ubers around town and paying club cover charges. Bachelorette parties at a glampground combine the outdoor experience with convenience, and can be a good option if some of the party doesn’t like to camp.

Traditional Campgrounds

As an outdoor lover, the bride-to-be may have a favorite spot picked out already. If so, choose a date, make a booking and confirm it with the campground before you arrive. If your group is larger than six, you may need to reserve a group site. Get the scoop on quiet hours and whether or not alcohol is allowed.

When lodging and food isn’t provided, your job becomes a bit harder. Everyone needs to bring their own gear, so include clear information on the invitation about what to bring and what to expect from the experience. Depending on your group size and available resources, you may want to consider a large RV or source tents and sleeping bags. No gear? No problem. Renting camping gear might be the way to go.

Guided Adventure Trip

To combine camping with a unique experience, book an adventure trip. Whether it is a horseback ride through the Tetons in Wyoming or a rafting trip in North Carolina, a guided trip gives you group adventure without the logistical headache. Some trips offer optional upgrades in terms of accommodation and food, if you want to add a touch of luxury. You’ll also be guided by a trained professional, which can mean a safer, more enjoyable experience for everyone.

If the party weekend is imminent, but so is, say, a nor’easter or extreme heatwave, you may need a back-up plan. The bachelorette and the guests have taken time off and gotten prepared, so do early research on alternative accommodation if Mother Nature throws you a curveball.

Camping Activities to Get the Party Started

Woman zip lining and smiling with trees surrounding her

Mix and match the traditional elements of a bachelorette party to make them work for your group and your setting. Just remember to leave no trace—which probably means no explosive confetti or toilet paper wedding dresses in the woods.

Cooking For a Camping Bachelorette Party

Planning the food may be the biggest challenge of your camping bachelorette party, unless you’ve gone the all-inclusive route. Focus on simple dishes that you can make with limited resources, and bring plenty of snacks. If possible, modify the bride-to-be’s favorite dishes for a camp setting, and consider any allergies or food sensitivities of the guests.

Some things to remember when cooking and drinking in the outdoors:

  • You are only as powerful as your campstove—bring extra fuel!
  • Avoid glass containers. Broken glass is dangerous and hard to remove, and is not allowed on most national- and state-owned land as well as many private campgrounds.
  • Store your food appropriately, which may mean using a bear canister or locking it in the car. Raccoons and mice aren’t invited to this party!
  • Speaking of bears…be bear aware . Research safety precautions for wildlife in the area, and be mindful of any rules or regulations that are in place.
  • Leave No Trace . No matter how crazy the party gets, respect the land by doing a thorough camp ‘sweep’ to pick up litter or food scraps before you leave.
  • Don’t forget about breakfast! Plan a hearty breakfast for all the partiers, and let the smell of coffee, bacon, scrambled eggs, or hashbrowns coax them out of their tents.
  • If you have never cooked for a campout before, don’t put pressure on yourself. Consider having a meal delivered, or even catered for the evening.

Personalize the Party With Themes and Favors

To distinguish your camping bachelorette party from a regular camping adventure, designate a theme. This doesn’t have to be elaborate, so feel free to keep it simple and make it your own. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Tutus in the woods. Get everyone into their favorite color tutu for the trip and start snapping some legendary photos.
  • Beach theme. Grab swimsuits, sarongs, board shorts, and Hawaiian shirts for fun sundowner cocktail sessions.
  • Winter is coming. Is your bachelorette a Game of Thrones fan? Picture everyone dressed as their favorite characters, desserts that look like heads on spikes, and dragons everywhere.
  • ‘Getting Hitched’. Bring out the cowgirl (or boy) in everyone with flannel pearl-snap shirts and cowboy hats.
  • Camping-themed party favors. Put together a bag with useful things for the weekend: bug spray, sunscreen, sunglasses, glow sticks or a warm beanie! You can get almost anything monogrammed these days.

When planning your camping bachelorette party, remember to keep the main thing the main thing: spending quality time with your friends. The details can get distracting and stressful, but if you’re all outside together to celebrate, consider it a win!

The 6 Best Glamping & Camping Bachelorette Party Locations

If you and your crew love the great outdoors, check out these glamping and camping bachelorette party locations for a fun celebration.

One way to guarantee a bachelorette party that your entire bridal party will (fondly) remember forever: Conquer the great outdoors with a camping (or glamping!) getaway. A weekend at the beach may sound dreamy and all, but these camping bachelorette party locations really know how to bring the zen...along with a solid cardio workout. And yes, we even found a glamping bachelorette party destination that involves wine — and lots of it.

From laid-back mountain retreats to “glampsites” that celebrate the finer things in life (wine, and more wine), here are the best glamping and camping bachelorette party locations.

Catskill mountains, new york.

Perfect for city dwellers looking for a respite from the Big Apple , the Catskills (as the locals call it) is a just a short three hour car ride from the heart of Manhattan. If you’re considering a visit to this camping bachelorette party location, be prepared for all the outdoor activities. Head to Kaaterskills Falls, the highest two-tier waterfall in New York, for a day hike that doubles as a prime photo opp. Or take in the natural beauty (minus the physical labor) at Mountain Top Arboretum , a 178-acre garden with plants, bedrock, meadows, wetlands and walking trails. Unwind during your visit in a glamping cabin at Eastwind Hotel & Bar, and while you're there, take advantage of their saunas, fire pits, and nearby Windham Spa for a day of R&R.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Sneak off for a memorable camping bachelorette party in this adventure-filled town. Close to Yellowstone National Park and a number of the country’s top ski resorts — The Big One at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort claims to be the mountain with the highest vertical drop in the United States. — Jackson Hole is perfect for all seasons since there are opportunities to hike, bike, ski, and snowboard. Book a stay in the Sporting Cabin (sleeps 5) or Discovery Village (sleeps 3) at Snake River Sporting Club to have all of Jackson Hole’s charm at your fingertips. There, you can cozy up by the outdoor fire pit, hike 7 miles to the state-famous Snake River, and explore 800-acres of gorgeous scenery by mountain bike, canoe, or one of the other resort’s offerings.

Tucson, Arizona

Don’t let the winter weather stop you from having the outdoorsy bachelorette party of your dreams. Tucson, which is known for its mild winter, offers just about everything under the sun (literally) from bar crawls to poolside hangs. And if it’s your first time in Tucson, a visit to the desert is a must. From October through May, stay overnight at Under Canvas Tucson, which claims to be America’s oldest dude ranch, for an authentic western experience full of breathtaking landscapes, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Best of all: The ever-popular Saguaro National Park and Coronado National Forest are just 12 minutes away by car.

Mendocino, California

And no, not just because your girl gang resembles the characters of Big Little Lies . Rather than holing up in the mountains, opt for a change of scenery in this well-to-do coastal town—and fabulous glamping or camping bachelorette party location. To get the best ocean view, book a stay at Mendocino Grove, which has 60 safari-style tents overlooking the water. No matter their interests, everyone in your group can pick from an array of activities to keep busy, including hiking the Fern Canyon Loop Trail, renting a picnic kit for an afternoon at the beach, or window shopping at the nearby Mendocino Village.

Governor’s Island, New York

Get the best of both worlds by exploring the city — New York City, that is — by day and relaxing under the stars (no city lights in sight) at night. Everyday in May through October, a ferry runs from downtown Manhattan to Governors Island. Although there isn’t too much to do once your there, Collective Retreats celebrates the beauty in nothingness — quality bonding time, okay? Smaller wedding parties can fit in the ultra-luxe Outlook Shelter, which is really considered “a transitional hotel room” that sleeps three. Along with the top-notch accommodations, you can also fill your itinerary with morning yoga, drinks overlooking the Statue of Liberty, and an outdoor massage .

Sonoma, California

Glamping and wine? Now, we’re talkin’. With more than 60,000 acres of vineyards in the Sonoma area, there’s a bounty of red, white, and bubbly that your entire bridal party will enjoy. But after a day of tastings, there’s nothing like kicking back (with yet another glass of Pinot) in a cozy airstream. In the midst of wine country, you’ll come across AutoCamp, a resort full of airstream trailers outfitted with the best linens, mattresses, and amenities. Since it’s located in a secluded grove of Redwood trees, the “campsite” is extremely peaceful, which is just what you need after a long day on the wine trails.
