Brew Tours Frequently Asked Questions
Will you feed me on the Brewery Bus Tours? Beer, water and light snacks will be provided on the bus as well as a cooler to store purchases. Many of the breweries have food trucks visiting and snacks available.
How should I prepare for my tour? First off, we suggest you have a hearty meal before you join us. Craft Beers are higher in content them many domestic beers, so you’ll want to make sure you have a good base to start with. You’ll also want to think about how you are getting home after the tour, perhaps arranging a ride home or UBER your way to and from the tour start.
What if I am late for a Bus Tour? We operate on a specific timeline. Please be at the designated departure location at least 10 minutes prior to the tour’s start time. Tour start times are firm; however ending times may vary slightly due to weather and traffic. Call the number listed on your ticket with any issues.
What should I bring on the bus tour? All you need is yourself. While no additional purchases are required, we encourage you to purchase beer, t-shirts and other souvenirs from our breweries while you are on the tour. We will provide a cooler for keeping the beer cold on the bus. All of the breweries we visit will be offering beer in growlers and some may have six packs to go. We ask you to not bring any alcohol onto the bus that wasn’t purchased from our tour stops. DMM Brew Tours follows all state of Ohio liquor/consumption laws. Participants must be 21 years old to consume alcoholic beverages on the tours. And of course a few buck to tip your tour guide and bus driver.
What happens if I need to cancel? If you are unable to attend an event, tour tickets can be transferred to another guest. If you cancel 72 hours in advance we will refund your ticket. DMM Brew Tours reserves the right to cancel a tour if we don’t reach a minimum occupancy of at least 6 on a tour. Should this occur, your reservation fee will be transferable toward another event or fully refunded.
What if I need a ride home after a tour? We want to offer you a safe environment to tour and sample beer with us. Our commitment to your safety extends after the tour as well. If you’ve had to much to drink, we suggest calling UBER.
Do you offer private tours? We are available for private tours such as bachelor parties, birthdays, girls night out, work and holiday parties, fund raising and charity events and more. We can customize anything to meet your needs! Please email us: [email protected] to send you our private tour packages or call: 937-572-1376. We will respond promptly to discuss your event.

Brewery Tours in Dayton
Craft Connection began brewery tours in Dayton December, 2015. An extension of the Cincinnati tours which started in May, 2014, the business replicated the successful model in Dayton – aka the Gem City. Dayton was always phase two of the business when we were finally ready to expand. Plans were to open in the Summer of 2015, however, due to the popularity of tours in Cincy, we had to wait until a third bus was added to the fleet in the Fall of 2015.
Why Expand to Dayton?
Often times Dayton residents would join Cincinnati tours. When asked why they couldn’t do this in Dayton they simply replied, “there is nothing like this in Dayton.” Not only was there a need for beer tourism in Dayton, it is also home to two out of the three owners of Craft Connection. Cincinnati was the first market to open since all owners lived there at the time. Now I (Ben) live in Dayton and manage both the Dayton and Cincinnati operations. When asked if there are actual breweries in Dayton, I respond with a resounding YES! Not only does Dayton have strength in the number of craft breweries, they also have a high level of quality and craftsmanship in their product. There are a total of 13 craft breweries in the Dayton market with more coming soon!
Frequent stops on the tour include Dayton Beer Company , Toxic Brew Co., and Yellow Springs Brewery . However, we are constantly changing routes and also visit the following breweries: Fifth St. Brewpub – downtown Dayton, Crooked Handle – Springboro, Star City – Miamisburg, Eudora – Kettering, Lock 27 – Centerville
What are the biggest challenges starting in Dayton?
Since Dayton is a smaller market than Cincy, we pull from a smaller population of people who enjoy craft beer and want to go out and see the local brewing scene. We are seeing a shift in people’s understanding of craft beer vs. domestic macro lagers, which in-turn sends curious guests our way to see what this craft beer explosion is all about. Secondly, finding an ideal meeting spot for public tours was challenging. We wanted a location with good food, craft beer, and centrally located with easy parking. After months of planning and asking what people thought would be a good meeting place, Carillon Brewing Co. fell into our lap during a networking event at the Annual Ohio Brewer’s Conference . The owner, founder, and mastermind of the world’s only active brewery museum, Tayna Brock, sold us on the location. Not only is their food, beer, and location unique and amazing, the fact that the tour starts at the “source” of beer history is perfect for tour goers. Guests receive a brief tour and history of beer making from a highly trained and knowledgeable brewer at Carillon, then we continue the tour to modern facilities such as Eudora or Crooked Handle. It’s one of the most unique tour experiences in the world where you get the past, present, and future of the beer industry and how the brewing process has changed in the last 150 years.
What’s next?
The launch in Dayton is only four months old so we are focusing on growing the Dayton operations, as well as continuing our top rated tours in Cincinnati. This answer could change in the next 3-4 months as we get moving on additional markets…stay tuned!
