Hour-long guided tours provide an in-depth look at Busch Stadium, home to the St. Louis Cardinals. Group rates available for 25 or more. Because of seasonal restrictions, please call for availability, time and information.

Tour tickets can be purchased at the Gate 3 ticket window on Eighth Street. Tickets are only available on the day the tour is offered. The ticket window opens 30 minutes prior to the day’s first tour; online sales stop 24 hours before tour time. Tours depart from the Stan Musial statue.

Please note: on days with games starting at 6:15 p.m., no 2 p.m. tour is offered; on dates with home day-games and on dates of special events at the ballpark, no tours are offered.

Accommodations for disabilities.

The Cardinals do a great job of providing accommodations for guests with disabilities. If we haven’t answered your question below, please review their ADA Information guide here . You can also contact them ahead of time at [email protected] or call the Cardlinas at 314-345-9600. Once inside the park, you can text 314-300-1000 for assistance.

Parking: Accessible parking can be found in the following lots: Starr lot near gate 2, Stadium West Parking Garage, and Stadium East Parking Garage. You should see signage with a phone number for a transportation cart which can take you to the ballpark.

Gates: Every gate is accessible, so feel free to enter wherever makes most sense with your ticket. All gates open 90 minutes before first pitch Monday-Thursday, and 2 hours Friday-Sunday.

Elevators: Elevators are located at the following locations:

• Family Pavillion
• Near Gate 6 (Right Field)
• Near Gate 2 (Home Plate)
• Near Gate 3 (3B side)

Seating: Accessible seating is scattered throughout the park, so you should have no problems picking a seat based on your preferred field view. The Cardinals will be happy to help you select your seats, just call the ticket office at 314-345-9000.

The Cardinals do not allow backpacks of any kind. Soft sided bags that are no larger than 16″ x 16″ x 8″ are allowed.

Batting Practice

You can watch and catch batting practice at Busch Stadium if you get there early. Gates open 90 minutes before first pitch Monday – Thursday, and 2 hours Friday – Sunday. You can catch the tail end of the Cardinals BP if you get there right as gates open. All gates open at the same time, so head in through one of the outfield gates. Visitors BP runs until 45 minutes before first pitch, when you’ll be asked to find your seats.

Bring Your Own Food

Busch Stadium allows you to bring your own food and beverages into the ballpark. You can bring any food, as long as it is wrapped. Sealed non alcoholic beverages of less than 2 liters that are in plastic bottles are also allowed.

Guest Services

If you have any issues or questions while at the ballpark, please utilize Guest Services. Each MLB team has this department, and they are solely focused on making sure each fan has a safe and memorable time at the ballpark.

Once inside the ballpark, you can contact guest services by calling 314-345-5331. Guest services desks are also located in the following sections:

All gates open at the same time. 90 minutes prior to first pitch Monday – Thursday, and 2 hours Friday- Sunday.

Busch Stadium| Must Do

Visit ballpark village.

Ballpark Village is located outside of the ballpark, behind center field. You’ll find plenty of food and drink options, as well as some shopping (including one of our favorites, Baseballism). The outdoor plaza recreates the original Busch II infield, so you’ll even have a chance to step on the same ground as some of the Cardinals greats. Inside, you’ll find options like FOX Sports Midwest Live!, which is a huge entertainment area very similar to Texas LIVE! at Globe Life Field .

Enjoy the Cardinals Hall of Fame and Museum

Before you head into the ballpark, stop by the Hall of Fame and Museum located in Ballpark Village. You’ll find tons of Cardinal relics and history including a championship gallery, a chance to hold a game used bat, and a section on the three different ballparks the Cards have called home. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and military, and $8 for kids.

Enjoy the Baseball Sky

Busch Stadium’s outfield view ranks pretty high up there. Since the park is situated in the city (as a ballpark should be!), you get amazing skyline views of the Arch and surrounding buildings, including the oddly circular Millennium Hotel Tower. Home plate faces South West, which usually means an amazing sunset view in the beautiful park. It’s hard to think of a better way to spend a summer evening.

Busch Stadium | Transportation and Parking

Busch Stadium is located in the heart of downtown St. Louis, which can make it a little difficult to get to if you haven’t been there before. Like most downtown grids, St. Louis consists of both two-way and one-way streets, so you’ll want to scope out your parking plan ahead of time to avoid confusion and stress. Luckily, you have plenty of parking and transportation options to choose from.

Official Busch Stadium Lots

There are no official parking lots at Busch Stadium.

Off-Site / Free Parking Options Near Busch Stadium

There are no official lots to be found, but you have plenty of parking options near the ballpark. Street parking: You can find free street parking near Busch Stadium if you get there early. You’ll see metered spaces, but they’re only in effect Monday – Saturday from 8am to 7pm. So if you can add enough time run the meter until 7pm, you’ll have a free spot for the remainder of the night. If you’re attending a Sunday game, no need to worry about meters at all.

Shuttles: Just a short ride away is the Soulard neighborhood, which has plenty of bars and restaurants. You can park free at most of those spots, then hop on their shuttle. Be sure to support the business helping you out by buying a beer or some food. Three such places are Llywelyn’s Pub , Duke’s , and Molly’s in Soulard , but there are many options.

If you are staying at one of the nearby hotels, they will also run shuttles to the ballpark, you just need to ask!

Public Transportation

MetroLink’s Stadium Station is a very short walk to Busch Stadium or Ballpark Village. You can take the MLB or MLR train depending on where you are coming from. Keep in mind that the Metro St Louis has several park-n-ride lots where you can park your car for free, then hop on the train into downtown. You also have a few bus options. The #40 Broadway bus and #99 Downtown Trolley each have stops near Busch.

Uber & Lyft

Lyft is the exclusive rideshare partner of the Cardinals. We think that means that their rideshare lots cannot be used by Uber. The official pickup zone is near Ballpark Village.

Since everyone else will be staring at Lyft signage all night, you may be better off walking a block or two and calling an Uber. If you’re new to Uber, you can use this link to get a discount on your first few rides.

While you can’t technically sit there, the grassy knoll batter’s eye in center field is probably the most iconic section of Busch Stadium. Most baseball fans will remember a wild Game 6 of the 2011 World Series, where the St. Louis Cardinals battled back — down to their last strike…twice. David Freese’s walk off home run in the 11th inning of Game 6 landed in the grassy knoll, where an Illinois radiologist scrambled to grab it. Traditionally speaking, the folks sitting in either section to the left or right (bleacher sections 197 and 101) have been allowed to dash into the batter’s eye to grab home run balls.

Best Seats for Game Views

The Infield Redbird Club seats along each side of the infield offer great views at a decent price. Sections 241 – 246 and 254 – 257 get our pick for best game views. Keep in mind that Busch Stadium also has amazing outfield / cityscape views, so you may want to consider that when purchasing tickets. While we’ve never sat there personally, we have heard great things about the seats directly behind home plate, on any level.

Where not to Sit

Busch really doesn’t have any major obstructions. There will be a few views where you can’t see the scoreboards though. The worst game view obstructions come in the the first few rows of the upper sections, where the handrails are. If that’s an issue for you, consider moving down to the lower levels, or up a few rows so your line of site is above the rails.

Best Seats for Shade

If you’re looking for shade at a day game, you’ll want to avoid sitting in the bleachers, or near the field. The last few rows in most sections have overhangs that will protect you from direct sun. For mid-day games, your best bet will be to sit on the 1B side, as the sun will set by moving towards home plate.

Best Seats for Foul Balls

Looking to catch a foul ball at Busch Stadium? According to FoulBallz.com , your best bets are in sections 153 – 156 on the 3B side, and 141-146 on the 1B side.

You’re in BBQ country, so embrace Country Bob’s BBQ. You’ll find house smoked pulled pork topped with Monterey Jack cheese, jalapenos, banana peppers, and special spices and BBQ Sauce. Head to Broadway BBQ in section 109.

Something Special: The Bratzel

Part bratwurst, part pretzel, all awesome. Find the pretzel wrapped Brats in sections 252 and 248 at the Red Bird Club stands.

The Challenge: The Grand Slam Mixed Grill

For the low price of $26, you’ll find 4 chicken bats (chicken legs slathered in sauce), 2 sausage bites, and a shrimp skewer. This feast is served in a box shaped like home plate and is big enough to feed a family, or just you if you’re up for the challenge. Find it in section 429 at the Terrace Grill

Vegetarian and Vegan Options at Busch Stadium

While Busch doesn’t have as many options for Vegans as some of the other parks, you’ll still be able to find a decent meal. Options include Stir Fry in sections 136 and 242. Busch also offers a Beyond Burger in sections 135 and 358, look for the Double Play Tap and Grill. The good news is, the Cardinals claim that their fries are vegan. And of course you can build your own salad at the Red Bird Club Cucina Italiano in section 250. Vegetarians can also enjoy pretzels (section 248), nachos, and cheese pizza (sections 139, 162, 250, 437).

We believe that in order to fully experience a ballpark, you should spend some time in the nearby area. We’re also big believers that pre and post game rushes are awful. We suggest you spend some time at these local establishments instead of sitting in traffic or rushing to the train.

Ballpark Village | 601 Clark Ave, St. Louis, MO 63102  | Website Ballpark Village is directly across the street from Busch and offers plenty of places for you to eat and drink before catching a game. If you’ve ever been to Texas Live! outside of Globe Life Field, or Live! at the Battery Atlanta around Truist Park – this is basically the same concept. Inside, you’ll find restaurants, bars, entertainment, sports gear shops, huge tv screens and the Cardinals Nation Museum and Hall of Fame.

B.O.B. has been around for 35 years and you just can’t find more traditional Cajun and Creole food anywhere in St. Louis. It’s about a 5 minute walk to Busch Stadium so it makes for a great pre or post game spot to hang out at.

As the name suggests, you’ll get 360 views of Busch Stadium, the Gateway Arch, the Mississippi river and surrounding St. Louis. They serve snacks, small plates, and pizzas so don’t expect to be super full when you leave but the views and drink selection are the main attraction.

The Midwestern | 900 Spruce St, St. Louis, MO 63102 | Website | Menu | Click to Call The Midwestern is a modern sports bar just one block west of Busch Stadium, so naturally a great spot to pregame or wait for your ride afterwards. And their food is gooood, we like the brisket sandwich. You’re in Missouri, you have to have some BBQ, right?! They also have an awesome brunch menu if you’re heading to an early afternoon Cardinals game.

If you’re traveling with a family or just trying to make the most out of your trip to the St. Louis area, here are some recommended nearby attractions.

The Hill | Website The Hill is a cool old Italian-American neighborhood in the St. Louis area, filled with family-owned delis, bakeries, trattorias and pizzerias. It also used to be home to baseball greats, Yogi Berra and Joe Garagiola. They both grew up in this neighborhood and their childhood homes are actually across the street from each other, on Elizabeth Avenue. It’s a great place to explore, eat and soak up a little baseball history as well.

Forest Park | Website Located about 6 miles west of downtown St. Louis, this awesome park is a great way to spend a day, especially if you are traveling with the family. In it you’ll find the St. Louis Zoo, Missouri History Museum, a planetarium, a golf course, several small lakes, a fish hatchery, tons of historical monuments and landmarks, and lots of picnic areas.

City Museum | Website If you ever wanted to relive your childhood, this is the place to do it. The City Museum has floors and floors of fun, from magic shows to caves you can explore, to vintage pinball and arcade games to a rooftop ferris wheel. The building is full of slides (one is 10 stories!) and oddities, guaranteed fun for kids and kids-at-heart. Trust us, you just gotta go! Tickets run $16-$22 plus tax, kids 2 and under are free.

FYI: City Museum is cashless, there is no re-entry and outside food and drinks are not permitted.

Busch Stadium tour warms up baseball fans

Checking out the home of the St. Louis Cardinals was one of the highlights of our recent trip.

To visit the stadium where Albert Pujols, Chris Carpenter and Matt Holliday have worked their magic over the years was a fun way to spend an hour.

The stadium has a brick exterior. It gives an old-time feel for a modern park.

The Cardinals offer tours daily on most days. It’s a great investment of $10 a person. Or, if like us, you have a AAA card, you can get a buy one, get one free ticket. Even nicer!

The tour starts at the third base gate. Stan Musial’s statue stands in front of the gate. “Stan the Man” is considered the greatest of all great Cardinal players. He even has a new bridge named after him downtown – the new I-70 Stan Musial Veterans Bridge, AKA “The Stan Span.”

The tour started with a visit to the Cardinals’ radio broadcast booth. John Rooney, Mike Shannon and Mike Claiborne are the team’s radio announcers.

Rooney called his first game in 1983 with the late great Jack Buck and Shannon.

Shannon will be in his 42 nd season as the radio analyst for St. Louis. The former Cardinal player uses an exercise ball as a seat. No one really knows why, we were told.

As a former play-by play wannabe (I had a voice for newspaper and a face for radio), I had to sit in one of the announcer’s seats and look out over what could have been.  I remember as a kid “calling” a town baseball game in Oakland, NE, with my cousin providing color analysis. I think that’s where I caught the bug.

The Cardinals have had an impressive line-up of announcers.

Jack Buck was probably the best and most revered. His son, Joe, called Cardinal games for a while. He is now the lead baseball and NFL play-by-play guy for Fox TV.

Harry Carey was a St. Louis announcer. He went to the rival Chicago Cubs to announce after his time in St. Louis ended. He’s probably best known for his days in Chicago.

The view from the level of the broadcast booths and some private suites was impressive. The stadium, which opened in 2006, has an open outfield, so fans can see the skyline and the famous St. Louis Arch.

The new Busch Stadium, dubbed Busch III, sits just a few feet away from where the previous stadium was located.

This is the third baseball stadium in St. Louis. Sportsman’s Park and old Busch Stadium were also homes to the Cardinals. We saw a Cards-Houston Astros game at the old Busch in the early 2000s.

This stadium was home to the World Series championship in its first season. The Cardinals won the baseball championship in 2006. They followed with another World Series title in 2011. St. Louis fell short in 2012, losing to Boston in six games.

The DeWitt family, which bought the franchise from the Busch family (yep the Budweiser Busches), are long time baseball fans. In the huge party area (holds up to 3,000 people), walls are plastered with wallpaper featuring old-time baseball cards. The family had their three generations of baseball card hoarding used to make the wallpaper. They scanned each baseball card they owned. Then, they had the wallpaper made.

The end result was amazing! It looks like actual baseball cards on the wall. But, when you go to touch them, expecting the cards to be posters, the wall is smooth. They did a great job.

Among player cards on the wall – Stan Musial, Rogers Hornsby, and the great Satchel Paige. Paige was a star in the Negro League Baseball circuit. He was the oldest rookie in the Majors.

We made our way to the lower level of the stadium. We didn’t get to go inside the players’ clubhouse. But, we did an even better thing – we visited the home team’s dugout.

I think everyone in the group felt like a kid. People posed for pictures sitting on the bench.

I stood near where the manager would stand during a game. It was awesome! Looking up from the dugout and seeing thousands of empty seats, it’s easy to imagine what the players see when they stand at the same spot and see a packed house yelling and cheering them on.

Looking out over the field, you can see the skyline in the backdrop. Across the field, near left field, pictures of the greatest players in St. Louis history adorn the fence – Musial, Hornsby, Smith, Brock, Gibson. Wow!

Just off the dugout area, inside the stadium, sits a display of all the trinkets the Cardinals have had on give-away days – bobbleheads, etc. They were the ideas of Marty Hendin. He also created the team’s original mascot.

The stadium tour was fun. It was a great way to spend an hour in the afternoon. I recommend checking out stadium tours when in other cities. I don’t think you need to be a fan of the team to actually enjoy a tour. It helps, though.

Other Popular Seating Areas

Field level outfield seating.

Field Level Outfield seats are located on the lowest tier of Busch stadium, between the corner bases and wrapping to the corners of the outfield walls. Most sections in this location are segmented into three distinct smaller sections. Upper portions are tucked up near the overhang of the 200 level and lower sections go right up to the field.

Sections 127-140 are located on the first base side, with the higher numbered sections being closer to the Cardinals dugout. Closest to the field on this side will be the Dugout Box seats, followed by the 1st Base Field Box (closer to first base) or the Right Field Box (closer to right field). Sections 127-129 are the only sections located in fair territory on the right field side and provide a good opportunity to catch a home run ball.

Not all sections on the right field side run up to the outfield wall, as sections 133 and 134 are further set back and do not extend all the way down to the field.

On the left field side are sections 160-172, with the lower numbered sections being closer to the visitor's dugout and the infield. Closest to the field on this side will be the Dugout Box seats, followed by the 3rd Base Field Box or the Left Field Box depending on how close you are to third base.

Sections 170-172 are located in fair territory behind the left field wall and are a great place to sit for home run balls. Just above are the Left Field Porch sections which offer some of the best shade at Busch Stadium in the hot summer months.

Outfield Terrace Seating

Terrace Level Outfield seating is exclusive to the right field side of the stadium and is comprised of the 1st Base Terrace and Right Field Terrace seating sections.

Sections 435-440 are known as the 1st Base Terrace and are located closer to the infield than the Right Field Terrace Sections 431-434.

Terrace sections will see a lot of sun during day games, with only a small amount of relief in the last few rows due to the small overhanging roof.

The Budweiser Terrace replaces sections 328-330 and 428-430. The area is open to all fans with a game ticket and all seats and standing areas are first-come, first-serve. Fans will have an opportunity to watch the game while sitting on lounge-style furniture or by standing at a rail. Ticketholders are encouraged to arrive early if seeking a space in this highly-coveted corner of the ballpark.

Pavilion Outfield Seating

Pavilion Outfield seating is located on the highest tier of Busch Stadium running from the corner bases and wrapping around to the behind the outfield walls. On the left field side, the Pavilion Outfield sections are the highest and furthest seating options as there is no terrace seating on this side on of the stadium.

With 24 rows of seating in these left field sections, fans that prefer to be in the shade will need to be in the last few rows to get any benefit from the small overhanging roof just above the last row.

Over on the right field side, Pavilion seating is located beneath the Terrace level sections, with better views than the sections above and just 15 rows of seating, but some of the most exposure to the sun in the stadium as there are no structures above to provide any shade.

Best Seats for Great Views of the Field

A number of excellent seating options exist for fans visiting Busch Stadium. Among the most impressive are the seats on the club level between sections 241 and 257. Located on the second level of the stadium, these seats offer a true club-style view from just above the lower level. Each of these sections is located on the infield and will give fans unobstructed views of the field, scoreboard and even the skyline and arch.

One of the best aspects of Busch Stadium is the shape of the field on the 100 level. Infield seats are pushed farther away from the field, which allows seats down the left field and right field lines to angle towards home plate. This creates more comfortable sitelines towards the infield - where about 85% of the action takes place. Among these seats, our favorites are those down the left field line at the front of sections 164-166. These seats face home plate, which is unusual for seats not located in home run territory. They're also located just a few feet above field level and give you the feeling of playing the outfield for the Redbirds.

Other seats with a great view include seats behind home plate at the top of the 100 level or those at the front of the 300 level. Just be careful in the first two rows in the 300s - the railing will disrupt your view; you're better off in rows 3-5 where you have a clear siteline.

Rows 1-6 in Sections Section 241 , Section 242 , Section 244 and Section 245

Best Seats for Views of the Arch

Busch Stadium offers some of the finest non-baseball views of any ballpark. Fans seated near home plate on any level of the ballpark are treated to outstanding vistas of the arch and downtown St. Louis.

For the best views of the arch, consider seats on the third base side of the field in the Terrace (300/400) Level. These seats provide some of the most beautiful head-on views of the arch, along with quality views of the field and the main scoreboard.

Sections Section 250 , Section 251 , Section 252 and Section 253

Best Seats for Impressing a Guest

The first seats that come to mind when Cardinals fans think about an impressive experience are the Green Seats located directly behind home plate. Not only do these seats give fans first-rate views of the field, they come with such conveniences as in-seat wait service and all-inclusive pricing; not to mention your chances of being on TV are very good.

One of the lesser-known all-inclusive areas at Busch Stadium is the Champions Club down the LF line. Like the Cardinals Club (Green Seats), ticketholders will enjoy all-inclusive food and drink and access to a private reception area. However, when compared to the Cardinals Club, tickets in the Champions Club are usually far more affordable. These seats also have the advantage of being protected from the rain and sun – a desirable feature during the hot St. Louis summers. The nearby Bank of America Club also offers an all-you-can-eat buffet and weather-protected seating.

Other impressive areas at Busch Stadium include the Redbird Club seats on the 200 level. While fans will have access to the climate-controlled club area and exclusive concessions, these seats do not include any wait service or all-inclusive pricing.

Finally, The Commissioner's Box seats located just to the right of the Cardinals dugout are among the most highly sought-after tickets for a Cards game. These seats give Cardinals fans the closest views of their favorite players, outstanding service and complimentary food and drink. Unlike other impressive areas; however, the Commissioner's Box is just a single section with ticket inventory extremely limited.

Best Seats for Kids and Family

Generally speaking, fans at Busch Stadium are well-behaved and create a family friendly atmosphere. As a result, there aren't many seats that are off-limits for bringing the kids. Instead, you'll want to pay close attention to finding seats out of the sun (during day games) and seats that are close to the amenities kids frequent (concession stands and restrooms).

One area to visit before or during the game is the kids area in center-field near section 101. This fully-covered and shaded area offers kids a chance to take batting practice, test the speed of their pitch and enjoy healthy kid-friendly snacks. A new Build-a-Bear is also located nearby on the center-field plaza.

For families with a healthier budget, consider the top rows of sections 152-154. These sections are close to the Busch Stadium Build-a-Bear where your young one can build a Fredbird and take it home as a memory to cherish. Even if you don't want to spend the money on another stuffed animal, these sections are smaller than average so you'll have an easy time getting in and out to grab a snack or to take a bathroom break. As an added bonus, the views from these seats are among the best in the stadium.

If your budget is a little thinner, we recommend seats in sections 352-357 and 452-454 (choose the 400s for a hot or sunny day). These sections will receive shade long before seats on the first base side and are close to the main food plaza behind home plate. Once again, the views from these sections are also above average.

Among seats you want to explicitly avoid are those in RF and down the RF line on all levels. These areas get incredibly hot during day games and are directly in the sun in the early innings of summer games. If you're seated here or considering sitting here, be sure to pack the sunscreen and make sure everyone has a hat and sunglasses.

Rows 18-26 in Sections Section 152 , Section 153 and Section 154

• Small sections that make it easy to get to the concourse

Best Seats for Partying and Socializing

With St. Louis being the home of Anheuser-Busch, it's not surprising that Busch Stadium has a number of areas that cater to beer-drinking baseball fans.

Before or after the game, consider stopping by Ballpark Village – the sports and entertainment hub of downtown St. Louis. There you'll find restaurants, bars, live radio shows and one of the largest television screens in the city. This is also the area where Rooftop and Deck seating has been added. Although they're technically not within Busch Stadium, these are ticketed seating locations with views of the game and additional amenities.

For fans looking to drink within the gates of Busch Stadium, there are no shortages of options. Nearly every lower level section is close to some combination of frozen drinks, premium liquor and, of course, Bud products. Left field, in particular, is close to a high concentration of adult beverages and is one of the best places to sit and enjoy a cold one at a Cardinals game.

Meanwhile, fans seated in the Left Field Porch sections will be close to the Bowtie Bar and Bottoms Up. This area features a large central bar, bar seating, table seating and drink rails – making it a preferred option among fans looking for room to socialize.

For fans seated on the 200 level, there are bars on either side of the field for Redbird Club ticketholders and a number of drink options near section 266 for non-club patrons. On the Terrace Level, most alcohol is purchased through common concession stands – though there is plenty of space to congregate on the concourse with friends while still keeping an eye on the game.

Sections CQ1 , CQ2 and CQ3

Rows 11-25 in Sections Section 189 , Section 191 , Section 193 and Section 195

Best Seats for Getting a Ball

The sharp angles of seats down the line at Busch Stadium make it one of the more interesting ballparks for catching a foul ball. In particular, the seats known as the Dugout Boxes (132-139, 161-166) jut out towards the field and make them exciting places to sit when balls are fouled off. For fans on other levels of the park, seating on the infield does attract some souvenirs. However, note that some of the overhangs providing you shade will also prevent you from catching a ball.

The dugouts used to be a popular spot for getting a ball - as the players would typically toss some out before the game and between innings. But with the netting now extended to the ends of the dugouts, it is difficult to get a ball from these seats. Instead, consider the first ten rows of sections 141 and 159 which now receive a majority of these between-inning souvenirs.

As far as the fans are concerned, Busch Stadium is one of the most unfriendly ballparks for catching a home run. The large bullpens in left and right field swallow up a number of would-be souvenirs. For your best chance at going home with a longball, you'll want to find seats in one of the first five rows of the outfield. The dimensions of Busch Stadium, coupled with some space between the fence and fans, make it unlikely that balls reach any of the higher rows.

Best Seats for Visiting Team Fans

St. Louis is known for having some of the most knowledgeable and friendly fans in all of baseball. It's not uncommon for visiting team fans to be warmly welcomed into Busch Stadium. As a result, almost any area of the ballpark is ideal for an away team fan – unless, of course, you're a fan of the Cubs.

If being close to your favorite players is your goal, you'll want to sit behind your team's dugout or near the visitor bullpen. Because the bullpens are located in the outfield, there is a large cost discrepancy between the two areas. If your budget allows it, first consider seats in sections 155-158 behind the visitor dugout where Row D is directly behind the players. For a cheaper option, try sections 189-193 in the left field bleachers where the visiting pitchers warm up before and during the game.

For a Tuesday night game, gates will open 90 minutes before first pitch. For the 7:15 start time, you will be able to enter the stadium as early as 5:45.

The Dugout Box seats are located in the lettered seating rows (closest to the field) of Sections 132, 135-139, and 161-166. Unfortunately food is not included with the price of a ticket in these areas. Below is a list of where you can find all-inclusive tickets at Busch Stadium:

With the resounding success of Ballpark Village, the area around Busch Stadium is a popular hangout before, during and after the game. Because the area attracts so many fans to the game so early, the Cardinals are known for having one of the earliest-arriving crowds in all of baseball.

For weekday games Monday through Thursday, the ballpark gates open 90 minutes prior to first pitch . For night games starting at 7:15, the gates will open promptly at 5:45 and you'll have an opportunity to see the visiting team take batting practice (if the weather permits).

For Friday and weekend games the gates open a full two hours before first pitch, giving fans more time to explore the ballpark. If you plan on arriving early for batting practice, do know that it is uncommon for teams to BP before early afternoon games.

Busch Stadium is a highly segmented park with multiple levels of seating from the 100 level to the 400 level. Generally speaking, fans will find the most comfortable seats to be in the 100 level where many of the chairs are padded and a number of walkways create breaks in the seating.

For fans considering seats in another area of the stadium, one of the best places to find more legroom is in Row 1 of the 400 level. Unlike the 200 and 300 levels where you walk down from the concourse towards Row 1 - the first row in the 400 level is at the section entrance. Because of this, additional room is added between the railing and row 1. For some shorter fans the railing may prove to be a distraction - but for larger guests the extra space to spread out is a blessing.

There are designated areas at the top of most non-premium seating sections where standing room only ticket holders can stand and watch the game. Standing room only space is not reserved and available on a first come first serve basis, so we recommend getting to the ballpark as early as possible to claim the best spots (Busch Stadium gates generally open 2 hours prior to the start of the game).

It is the policy of Busch Stadium that all guests sit only in their ticketed seats, so while moving to empty seats may be tempting, please be aware that guests who do not abide by the ticketed seating policy are at risk of being ejected from the stadium.

Some lower level sections at the Cardinals' Busch Stadium contain as many as 40 rows of seating. In some of these larger sections, there are walkways that break up the seating. Some fans prefer sitting close to these quick exits, while others are constantly distracted by people in the walkway.

Walkway Locations

Most lower level sections can be categorized as no walkway , single-walkway and double-walkway .

Sections behind the Green Seats, including 146-154 are continuous and are not interrupted by a walkway. These sections are made up of only numbered rows with row 1 always closest to the field. For sections closer to the player dugouts (like 141-145 and 155-159), rows are also continuous with lettered rows followed by numbered rows.

As you move down the line, the sections become a little more complicated. Some of these sections are interrupted by a single walkway, while others are interrupted twice. For these sections that have lettered rows, a small walkway is located between the last lettered row (usually L or M) and the first numbered row (Row 1). Fans seated in Row 1 in these sections may be highly distracted by patrons in the walkway.

Furthermore, in these sections down the line, a large walkway separated rows 20 and above from the rest of the seating section. Fans seated in rows 20 and above will feel like they're in a separate seating section as these rows are elevated above lower rows and are accessible only by a small set of stairs. Sitting in rows 20 and above will provide more shade, while sitting in rows 15-19 will give you near instant access to the concourse tunnel.
