This article explains how to visit other islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Visiting other islands requires access to the airport, which opens up after completing the game's early stages. 

Once you know your Switch friend's island is open, either locally or online, or you have their Dodo code, you can join them at the airport. Here's what to do.

Local only works if your friend is playing the game nearby physically. 

Select either Search for a friend or Enter a Dodo code.

The former looks for friends on your friends list with open islands, while the latter requires you to enter a code given out by the host. 

Choose to join the island and visit.

How to Visit Other Islands in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Another way to visit an island in Animal Crossing New Horizons is to use Nook Miles to buy Nook Miles Tickets to a random island. On the island, you can collect resources you may not already have available on your island. Here's how to visit.

Go to the Terminal in the Resident Services building.

Buy a Nook Mile Ticket for 2,000 Nook Miles.

You may need to collect more Nook Miles by completing daily tasks.

Speak to Orville.

Select Use Nook Miles Ticket .

Travel to the new random island.

You can harvest trees and bamboo, collect fruit, collect flowers, and meet new villagers on the island. You can also invite the villagers back to your island.

Once you leave, you will never return to the same island, so don't leave anything essential on the island.

How to Visit Harv’s Island in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Harv's Island unlocks once you have established three plots of land for new villagers on your island. He appears randomly to invite you over. Here's how to visit.

At Harv's Island, players can take photos in his photo studio setup. It's also possible to access an unlimited supply of all your items and fossils within the studio.

When visiting other people's islands, you should follow some polite rules. Here's a brief overview.

• Don't linger for too long. Like in real life, know when to leave. Don't outstay your welcome. If you've come solely to exchange goods, go once you've done so. 
• Respect the island. Don't trash another player's island by chopping down trees or picking all their flowers. Leave it in as good condition as you found it.
• Never 'leave quietly.' It's possible to leave an island 'quietly' by pressing the - button to leave, but this can be buggy and cause issues for players, especially if you've just traded items. Leave via the airport to ensure this does not happen.
• Communicate with the other player. It's friendly to say 'hey' and talk to the other player, as well as potentially leave a gift. After all, you're a visitor to their home!

There is no specific timeframe for Redd's visits, but you can expect to find him wandering about your island once every couple of weeks. Sometimes, you'll hear an announcement that Redd has arrived, while other times, you'll notice his Treasure Trawler and know he's there.

Flick randomly visits islands. He could arrive any day of the year, but he will always leave the next day by 5 a.m. When Flick visits your island, be sure to sell all the bugs you can to him to make as much money as possible.

To  get iron in Animal Crossing , your best bet is to use a shovel or axe to strike rocks you find on your island and hope an iron nugget appears as a resource.

To get a ladder in Animal Crossing , you'll have to progress through Tom Nook's tasks, such as paying off your tent, building your home, building Nook's Cranny, and building a bridge. After accomplishing these tasks, Nook will give you a ladder recipe.

A key part of Animal Crossing New Horizon ‘s gameplay is being able to travel to other islands – both unexplored and inhabited by other players – to see what they’ve got to offer. You may be unclear on how to do this though, which is why we’re here to help with a guide on how to visit other islands .

How to Visit Other Islands in Animal Crossing New Horizons

To visit other islands in Animal Crossing New Horizons, you’ll need to redeem Nook Mile Tickets for 2,000 Nook Miles each.

Nook Miles are a form of currency in New Horizons rewarded to you for completing a variety of challenges, from cleaning up the island of weeds to greeting every resident on an island in a single day. You can check to see what these challenges are from the Nook Phone.

Note that you won’t be able to purchase things from the terminal until you’ve completed the early ‘tutorial’ portion of the game, so just keep going and you’ll eventually be notified when you’re allowed to browse the terminal items.

Redeeming Nook Mile Tickets

After collecting enough Nook Miles in Animal Crossing New Horizons, you can then use them at the terminal in the Resident Services building to purchase Nook Mile Tickets – items which, when used at the airport, allow you to visit other islands which contain new sights and rare resources for you to discover and claim for your own.

With some Nook Mile Tickets in your possession, head to the airport and speak to the NPC Orville inside. They’ll give you the option to redeem your tickets to travel to new islands and see what else the world has to offer.

How to Visit Other Players’ Islands in Animal Crossing New Horizons

As for how to visit other players’ islands in Animal Crossing New Horizons, it’s a slightly simpler process as you won’t need Nook Mile Tickets.

After reaching the point in the game where you have access to the Airport, speak to Orville and select the “I wanna fly!” option. From there, you’ll be able to choose whether you want to visit the island of another player locally or online.

You’ll want to choose local if the player whose island you want to visit is in close proximity to you. Online, meanwhile, should be selected if they’re a decent distance away from you, or if you want to visit a random person’s island.

Choose whichever option best applies to what you want to do, an then wait for Orville to provide you with an island to fly to. Confirm the island as your destination, and you’ll be sent flying to a new island via plane.

One of the most exciting parts about Animal Crossing: New Horizons is having the ability to connect with friends online and visiting other islands.

It may have been quite some time now since Animal Crossing: New Horizons first launched for the Nintendo Switch, but there are still plenty of new players that are just getting their feet wet with the long-running life-sim series from Nintendo. One of the most notable features from the latest entry allows players to visit their friend's islands via the in-game airport.

In order to visit another island in the game, players will need to be connected online first and foremost. Going to other islands that are owned by other players will be impossible without a stable connection. Once that's done, Animal Crossing: New Horizons island goers will have to make sure that they have a Dodo Code from their friend.

To get this Dodo Code, players will need to speak to Orville at the local airport and tell him that they want visitors. Once this is done, a Dodo Code will be given out and will need to be sent to the friend who is trying to fly out of their island.

By simply speaking to Orville and telling him "I wanna fly," the player will then be prompted to choose an island that's accepting visitors, and then the Dodo Code will have to be input. Keep in mind that the online connectivity in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a bit strict in what players can and cannot do.

For example, if one person is coming to visit another player's island, the owner of that island cannot be in a menu or in a conversation with a villager or NPC . And the island owner is also not allowed to move around any furniture, whether it is indoors or outdoors. Still, even with the limited functionality, players can have a fun time running around each other's island, hanging out on a beach, or just get inspired by all of the decorative items scattered about.

How Many Players Can Visit At Once?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons supports up to four players on one system locally and up to eight players online . This means that if someone already has eight friends on their island, other players will not be able to enter until somebody leaves the island.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is all about moving to your new island getaway and creating a home with yourself and other villagers. You are far from the only island in the sea though, as there are plenty of islands to explore with lots to see. It’s possible to visit islands that your friends have made, as covered in another guide , but we’re going to be focusing on how to visit other random islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

How To Visit Other Islands

One of the earlier tasks in Animal Crossing: New Horizons involves finding unique specimens for Tom Nook, which then leads to Blathers coming onto the scene in hopes of building a museum. He then requires you to find an additional 15 unique specimens for the museum, which can seem like a tall task. You will start catching the same fish and bugs on your island, as well as being limited in the number of fossils available daily.

This is where traveling to other islands comes into play, as other islands hold plenty of creatures that yours does not. To travel to other random others, you will need to acquire a Nook Miles Ticket, whether it’s your first free one or you purchase them yourselves .

After you have your Nook Miles Ticket in hand, go to the airport and speak with Orville. Here you want to tell him that you want to fly and he will mention that you have a Nook Miles Ticket. You will want to select the option where you say you’re using the Nook Miles Ticket and then you will go on a plane to another random island.

Once on this island, catch and collect whatever you want, though be careful of your limited inventory. If you by chance break some of your necessary items like a fishing rod or shovel, you can go to the pilot and spend Nook Miles to get another. You will want to talk to the villager on the island and invite them to your island as well while you are here.

After you have done everything you can do on the island, speak to the pilot and you can head back home to your own island.

In this article, you'll learn how to visit other players' islands that they have uploaded to the dream library in Animal Crossing: New Horizons .

In order to use the dream feature in Animal Crossing: New Horizons , you must:

• Update the game to version 1.4.0 or later .
• Be connected to the internet.
• Have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership.
• Set your Nintendo Switch console to the correct date.
• Enable "Free Communication With Others" if Parental Controls restrictions have been set for your Nintendo Account.
• Have at least 5 animal residents living on your island.
• Have your first home on the island (not including the tent) and a bed.
• Remove your wand transformation, if equipped.
• Close your island gates and play solo.

The first time these conditions are met, you will receive a letter from Luna the following day containing Luna's Bed.

Dreaming in Animal Crossing: New Horizons allows you to visit other players' islands even while they are not playing. Because these island visits happen only in dreams, you will not be able to make any changes to the actual islands. In order to visit another player's dream island, you will need their Dream Address.

Complete these steps

• Enter your home in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and lie down on any bed furniture.
• If you are not asked if you want to sleep, make sure you have updated the game to the latest version .
• Select I want to dream after Luna explains what you can do in dreams.
• A player can choose to remove their island from the dream library. When this occurs, their Dream Address will no longer work.
• When you are ready to stop visiting the dream island and return to your own island, lie down in the bed in the plaza.

Animal crossing 2.0 datamine: why some players can't visit rare islands.

Animal Crossing's 2.0 update lets players set sail on Kapp'n's Island Tours, but some players can't visit every type of rare island in the game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons’  massive 2.0 update added a ton of new characters and content to the game, including Kapp’n and his Island Tours . Players can pay 1,000 Nook Miles to set sail across the sea and explore a random island, but some may have been frustrated to find themselves on the same type of island over and over again rather than finding the rare seasonal islands like the Cherry Blossom island or Snow Crystal island. These seasonal islands allow players to collect materials to complete DIY projects outside of the current season on their island, but thanks to an extensive datamine of the 2.0 update, the reason that some players have been unusually unlucky with their island tours has been revealed.

In order to prevent players from getting seasonal items early in their game, Animal Crossing actually “locks” certain rare island types until their corresponding season has been played in the game. While players don’t necessarily have to be active on their Animal Crossing island during that time, the player character must have been created before or during that season for players to be able to visit an island of that type. Not only does this prevent players from being able to visit certain rare islands, but the way Animal Crossing selects a replacement makes it even less likely that players will find themselves somewhere seasonal. There are four “normal” island types and seven “seasonal” or rare island types that players can be sent to when they embark across the sea on an island tour with Kapp’n.

The normal islands include the Gyroid Fragment island, the Vegetable island, the Glowing Moss island, and the Full Gyroid island where players can find many of the new materials and items that were added to Animal Crossing in the 2.0 update. The rare islands, conversely, each feature one of the game’s seasons, and players can collect materials that they wouldn’t normally be able to get on their island until that season rolls around. The DIY recipes found on the beaches of these islands will also match the island’s season, giving players a chance to find any recipes they may have missed during that season on their home island. Additionally, a gyroid fragment will always be buried on the island regardless of its type, so Animal Crossing's gyroid collectors are guaranteed to find at least one per tour.

Animal Crossing 2.0's Rare Island Tours Explained

When players climb aboard Kapp’n’s boat, Animal Crossing will roll to determine whether they will be sent to a normal island or a seasonal island, and from there the game will roll again to select the specific island type that players will find upon arrival. There’s a 78% chance that the game will send players to a normal island, and a 22% chance that they’ll arrive on a seasonal island. While all rare islands have an equal chance of being found, the normal islands all have different probabilities of being selected, with the Gyroid Fragment island in Animal Crossing being the most common:

• Gyroid Fragment, normal, 30%
• Vegetable, normal, 22%
• Glowing Moss, normal, 18%
• Full Gyroid, normal, 8%
• Snow Crystal, rare, 3%
• Cherry Blossom, rare, 3%
• Spring Bamboo, rare, 3%
• Star Fragment, rare, 3%
• Summer Shells, rare, 3%
• Maple Leaves, rare, 3%
• Mushrooms, rare, 3%

However, the 2.0 datamine revealed that each rare island type has to be “unlocked” before players will be able to find these islands on Kapp’n’s tours. Each seasonal island’s date is set to a specific date in each corresponding season, and in order to unlock a seasonal island, the player’s character must have played past that date on their own island. This means that some players are not just unlucky with their rolls, but are actually unable to visit certain seasonal islands. Until the character “unlocks” the season, either through patience or time travel, that seasonal island type will remain unavailable in Animal Crossing , preventing players from gathering DIY materials and recipes  from seasons that haven’t happened since their character’s creation:

• Snow Crystal: February 24 (Northern Hemisphere) / August 24 (Southern Hemisphere)
• Cherry Blossom: April 10 / October 10
• Spring Bamboo: May 31 / November 31
• Star Fragment: June 15 / December 15
• Summer Shells: August 31 / February 31
• Maple Leaves: November 25 / May 25
• Mushrooms: November 30 / May 31

Animal Crossing bases its island tour selection on the player character’s data rather than the island or even the game file itself, so even players who started playing the day it was released may still be unable to visit certain seasonal islands if their character hasn’t been around the whole time. This mechanic not only applies to players who started New Horizons  recently and haven’t unlocked all the seasons, but also to those who have restarted their Animal Crossing islands within the last year and haven’t made their way through all the seasons again. Additionally, players who have started a new character on an island that has seen every season will not be able to visit the seasonal islands that they haven’t unlocked yet.

Why Animal Crossing Locks Out Certain Islands During Tours

While this can become frustrating for players who haven’t put in a full year on their island yet, the way that Animal Crossing handles rolling a “locked” seasonal island makes it even more likely that a repeat island will be selected. Rather than sending players to a different rare island if the seasonal island they rolled hasn’t been unlocked yet, the game will automatically send them to one of the normal islands instead. This makes the chances of finding a seasonal island even slimmer for those who haven’t seen every season in Animal Crossing and results in more repetitive normal islands for unlucky players.

Animal Crossing does, however, adjust its island selection process for players who have found themselves on the same type of island several days in a row. If there’s a normal island type that players haven’t visited in 7 tours or more, the game will randomly select a normal island from the ones that have not been visited for the longest amount of time to ensure some variety. The counter will also factor in rare island visits, so lucky players who have gotten 7 rare islands in a row will find themselves on a normal island on their next tour. However, this counter resets every 20 days, so players who don’t go on 7 island tours within that period will have to rely on luck alone.

Katrina’s daily fortunes can also affect the type of island that players discover on tour. If players have received the “bad belongings” fortune for the day, they’re guaranteed to wind up on a Gyroid Fragment island - and to make matters worse, the buried gyroid fragments will be replaced with clay. The “good belongings” fortune, though, will ensure that players find a rare island if they’ve unlocked every season. However, if a rare island that hasn’t been unlocked is selected in this lucky roll, the player will not be sent to a different seasonal island and will instead be sent directly to a Full Gyroid island. As such, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players will have to improve their luck by playing throughout the year.

I'll run this down quickly. She can visit my island. My other friends can visit my island. They can visit her island. But for whatever reason, I can't visit her island as I'm always hit with an "unable to connect to other consoles". Is there a fix go this? I'm very confused, as she's the only person I have experienced this with and my other friends can easily visit her island.

There could be an issue on your end. Restart your game and see if it works. If not, restart your Switch. If not, restart your modem. If not, the problem might be on your friend's end. I had this problem a long time ago. I just had to restart my internet connection.

I got the same error once when trying to do a trade, but after doing a connection test on my switch it seemed to sort itself out! not sure if that was coincidental or not but worked for me

Since the connection used is P2P (Peer-to-Peer) your router may be too restrictive, and is blocking your friend's connection to you. Is it just your friend who can't connect to you or can no one visit your town??  

Answer is simple, but may be considered as expensive - local play hasn't been fixed and it hasn't been fixed because big N wants us to buy online subscription.

I have this problem when my Switch is using my phone as a hot spot. I'm able to travel out but others can't travel in. With that said, it's an internet thing on your end, good sir. If you're using a hot spot, that could be the trouble, if not, then reset your home router, and then quite possibly do a full power cycle on your system. Are you able to visit other islands, just not that one friend's?

We did eventually fix it by going into the network settings of our router (correct me if it's the modem, tech people) and allowing our switches to access it or something like that. Players may open their islands for people to sell turnips, or for people to just explore and show off their hard work. While a player may know what is and isn’t acceptable on their friends' islands, they may not know what is acceptable on a stranger’s island.

Players have devoted lots of hours and bells into designing and building up their island and don’t want it to be ruined. Before taking anything, it's always best to ask, but here is a breakdown of standard etiquette to keep in mind when visiting other islands in  New Horizons .

There are a lot of things a player shouldn’t do on another person's island without asking first. One to keep in mind is not to shake trees unless the island owner says it's OK. While some players may have markings on the ground (either made themselves or found online) to indicate what type of tree it is, not all do -- and regardless, it's rude to shake trees without permission.

Some players like fruit or Bells to stay on their trees for aesthetics, or because they're trying to sync fruit spawn schedules. Some will put up fencing around trees to prevent others from shaking, but not everyone has the Bells, resources or space to do so.

Likewise, players should be respectful when they see fossils or bamboo shoots buried in the ground on another person's island. If a player sees a tell-tale star on the ground, they can either dig it up and offer it to the host, let the host know so they can dig it up themselves, or just leave it alone. While four to five fossils appear on an island per day, the one fossil a visitor spots could be one that the host needs. While the host may not even notice if the fossil is dug up and taken, it's a rude thing to do to the someone who is allowing people to explore their island.

Some players might have an area dedicated to offering free stuff, which could include anything: DIY recipes, furniture, clothing, fossils, fruits, or even flowers. If there isn’t a designated freebie area, don’t presume anything laying around is up for grabs. It could be that a player simply ran out of space while exploring their island and had to swap something out, fully intending to pick it up later.

When players become best friends in  Animal Crossing: New Horizons , they gain the ability to use their shovels and axes on each other's islands. This means they can greatly change things on each other's islands including destroying rocks, cutting down trees, or removing trees and flowers. While most players won’t be given best friend status on a stranger’s island, a player might be given that status if there is a big free section that includes flowers. Animal Crossing: New Horizons features special Mystery Island Tours that allow you to travel to uncharted islands separate from your own island or a friends. These randomly generated islands can contain a multitude of resources and fauna that may prove useful in your island's development.

How to Go On Island Tours

Once you've paid off your initial Deserted Island Getaway Package with Nook Miles , you can then use the Nook Miles you earn to buy a Nook Miles Ticket (and one will be given to you free of charge). This ticket can be used to go on a mystery island tour. You never know what kind of island you're going to or what to expect!

Once you have a Nook Miles Ticket, head to Dodo Airlines and present it when asking to take a flight. You'll then be taken on a flight to a random island.

Island Tour Benefits

These small deserted islands are full of trees , flowers , and other items. You can take all these items and creatures back home with you. There is even the chance you may find a random villager also on the island, and talking to them can mean inviting them to come to your island as a permanent resident.

Since your island can only produce so many resources per day, Mystery Islands are a great way to get more wood, iron , and stone if your own trees and rocks have been tapped out. However, don't expect to always find something new or not native to your own island each time you visit a Mystery Island - but you might get lucky!

List of Mystery Island Templates

Each island you travel to will be slightly different in a number of ways. This can mean some islands will have rivers, cliffs, or be completely flat. Because of this, you'll want to be sure to progress things by getting Blathers into your town so you'll have the Shovel and Vaulting Pole , and keep taking on tasks for Tom Nook until you get the Ladder as well - otherwise you stand to lose out on materials out of reach.

Almost every island you visit will include the following:

• Beach areas on all sides, with dark rocks on the top left and right
• Flowers native to your own island
• Fruit trees native to your own island
• Coconut trees
• Several rocks
• Fish (river and sea, and possibly ponds)

Mystery Islands can also have a random visiting Villager you can invite to your town - but only during certain circumstances: They will almost always appear on islands early on in your town's development until after you've upgraded the Resident Services tent to a building. After this, they will only appear once there is an available plot of land for sale on your island. If your island is full, or you have no plots of land for a villager to claim, they will not appear.

Basic Island with Pond

• Island Type: Starter Island (Common)

• Bugs : Normal Variety

This island is likely one of the first you'll visit, with a river flowing from a cliff and flowing at a right angle east into the sea.

Basic Island without Pond

• Fish : Normal River and Sea Variety

Another island that you're likely to visit on your first time, it's almost identical to the other island - including a river flowing from an upper elevation off to the right - but lacks a pond.

Spiral River Island

• Trees: Hardwood Trees, Native Fruit Trees, Coconut Trees

This is another island you're likely to find on your first few visits to Mystery Islands . It includes a long spiraling river where a villager might camp near the center, along with a rock.

Large Pond Island

• Fish : Normal Pond and Sea Variety

The last of the islands that will always appear in your first few visits, this island has no river (though it does have a small cliff area), and instead has a large triangular pond along with the usual resources.

Bamboo Island

• Island Type: Common
• Trees: Bamboo Trees, Coconut Trees
• Fish : Normal Sea Variety

The bamboo island is a highly sought after location - as its the only place to find fully grown bamboo and dig up bamboo shoots to grow more in your town. It's also completely flat and devoid of rivers or ponds, making it an ideal place to attract certain types of bugs like Tarantulas or Scorpions to make bells fast.

Mountain Island

• Bugs : Pill bugs, Centipedes, and Wharf Roaches

This island requires a Ladder to get any real use out of, as it features a high peak, with normal trees at the base, fruit trees on the second level, and 5 rocks to gather lots of resources from at the top level. Note that regular bugs do not spawn on this island, and there are no rivers or ponds to speak of.

Big River Island

• Island Type: Uncommon
• Bugs: Dragonflies, Water Beetles, Pondskaters

This special island is comprised of a fairly large curving river that begins on a cliff in the top right before making a "c" shape down and out to the sea on the right side. The island is special in that only water-specific insects and dragonflies will spawn on this island.

Waterfall Island

• Bugs: Normal Variety
• Fish: Normal Variety

An island with normal resources, it is comprised of a high river dumping down into a lower elevation with several diverging paths - two waterfalls ending in small pools, and a third leading to the sea on the right. While it doesn't offer any special draws, and is difficult to navigate without constantly using a Ladder and Vaulting Pole , it can be useful for getting cliff-specific fish or Sturgeons.

Alternate Fruit Island

• Trees: Non-Native Fruit Trees, Coconut Trees
• Fish: Normal River and Sea Variety

A valued island - especially for those lacking friends, this island produces dozens of fruit not native to your island - but it will only ever produce one non-native type, which means you cannot visit this island again to find a different type of fruit from the last visit.

Trash Island

• Trees: Hardwood Trees, Native Fruit Trees
• Fish: Trash Only

This deceptive island looks normal with a small curving river in the center backed by cliffs above it, as it flows to the left out to sea. However, you'll only find trash in these waters, and only water-specific insects will spawn in the meantime.

Rare Flower Island

• Island Type: Rare
• Trees: Hardwood Trees, Coconut Trees
• Bugs: Butterflies, Moths, Bees
• Fish: Normal Pond and Sea Variety

This island is also highly prized, as it will contain rare variants of some of your native flower types in a ring around a central pond, and can be transplanted with a shovel to bring back to your island. This island is also full of flying bugs which can sometimes be profitable if rare butterflies or moths appear.

Forest Island

• Bugs: Moths, Beetles, Walking Sticks
• Fish: Normal Sea Variety

Another rare island - this one is devoid of rivers or ponds, and instead has a very dense interior with hardwood trees everywhere, and many more coconut trees on the beach. It's most noted for the surplus of bugs that can be found on trees - making it very valuable in months when rare beetles can be found.

Forest Island 2

• Bugs: Moths, Walking Sticks, Beetles

Another forested island, it also includes many types of insects only found on trees - but lacks elevation, and instead has a layout much the same as the Bamboo island, only its bamboo has been replaced by regular hardwood trees.

Giant Fish Island

• Bugs: Mantis, Flower Bugs,
• Fish: Large and Huge Shadowed River, Pond, and Sea Fish

This lucrative island is comprised of a large central river dumping down into a series of ponds via waterfalls onto the base of the island - though it does not empty out into the sea. The waters are all home to only the biggest fish, including many rare types. You'll also find rare hybrid colors of your native flowers on this island, which will spawn bugs that prefer to sit atop flowers.

Giant Fish Island 2

• Fish: Large and Huge Shadowed River and Sea Fish

Similar to the previously mentioned Giant Fish Island, this one will also spawn only the biggest fish - but its river spawns from a cliff in the top right that diverges to the left and below around a small island before merging together on the left and flowing out to sea. There's also an absence of rare flowers or bugs on this island as well.

Shark Island

• Fish: Sharks, Ocean Sunfish, and Suckerfish

This island is configured with a large rectangular inner island with a river moat - but the big draw is out at sea, where only finned fish will spawn that can include massive and lucrative sharks!

Spider Island

• Bugs: Tarantulas, Scorpions

The famous "Spider Island" isn't just something you can create by tearing down insect spawning points - this island is identified by a small circular river ring around an interior that's likely swarming with aggressive critters. Luckily, the river is thin enough to jump across at points.

Money Rock Island

• Trees: Native Fruit Trees, Coconut Trees
• Bugs: Pill Bugs, Centipedes, Wharf Roaches

An incredibly lucrative island if you can get to it, this island is easily identified by a large lake with a small island comprised of 5 rocks - all of which hold Bells . The only way to reach it is by eating a fruit and striking the rock at the top of the lake to extend a path for you to use a Vaulting Pole to reach the island in the center. Be sure to back yourself against dug pits to maximize your income to get up to 82,000 Bells per visit!

Money Rock Cliff Island

Much like the other Money Rock island, this can be a very lucrative find, with several rocks full of Bells in the center of the island, backed by 4 cliffs in each of the four corners. It's also reported that this island is full of aggressive insects - so be on guard when trying to whack those rocks.

Gold Nugget Island

• Island Type: Very Rare
• Trees: Coconut Trees

Another extremely rare and lucrative find, this simple island is devoid of most trees, and instead has a small inner island surrounded by a large lake. A single rock stands on this island, and when hit, will produce up to 8 golden nuggets!

When you see FULL on our website it means that the island is maxed out which means unless the owner of the island posts their dodo code again, you won't be able to visit that island. We do this because some users want to have only a couple of users on their island.

What should I do before opening my island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

If you have any items lying around on your island that you don't want visitors to take, make sure you pick them up and store them in your inventory. You could place a fence around these items.

The items which are affected are:

• Items that have been dropped and not placed. This includes fossils and DYI recipes.
• All type of fruits (Apple, Cherry, Coconuts, Orange, Peach, Pear), including the fruit still hanging on trees.
• Star Fragments

Make sure you shake your Hardwood or Cedar Tree so you can get the two daily items that are hidden on them - your visitors could get them before you!

Animal Crossing New Horizons: 10 Etiquette Tips For Visiting Another Island That Everyone Should Know

Visiting player's islands is a great way to get ahead in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If you want to be invited back follow these dos and don'ts.

Visiting other people's islands is a fantastic way to exchange recipes, make trades, socialize with friends, and generally have fun. It can also be used to find meteor showers and items for sale that aren't currently on your own island. However, thanks to some unacceptable behavior, many players have found themselves shutting down their islands in order to preserve them.

Since Animal Crossing: New Horizons can be more fun with friends we've put together some etiquette tips that can help you be a good island visitor. If you play nicely when people are kind enough to extend invites to you, then you're more likely to be invited back, or even added to the best friends list. Here are our top do's and don't of island etiquette.

10 Do: Greet Your Host

It's polite to greet your host. Even if you can't see them as soon as you arrive, any messages you send will show up in the chat log. Saying hello shows that you appreciate the invitation and want to acknowledge it.

Often long conversations aren't expected and many players are happy to let others wander around while they do other things but opening islands does limit that island's player, preventing them from doing certain actions, so saying hello is a small way of recognizing this.

9 Don't: Shake Trees

Casually shaking trees seems like a minor thing to do but it can inconvenience the player whose island it is. This is because you can end up messing up their resource collecting system.

Trees can contain useful items, including furniture and twigs, and are also home to bugs. They are also something that takes time to remove all the resources from each day, especially if you have a lot. Shaking them early can mean valuable bugs vanish before the island owner has a chance to catch them.

8 Do: Ask Before Taking Items

Many players have systems in place for others to grab useful items. These can be DIY exchange points, fruit stalls, or trade areas. However, there are many different ways of doing this so it's always polite to ask first and check that islander's rules.

Asking before taking things also applies to weeds and other low-value items. While weeding seems helpful, weeds can be used in several crafting items, including hedge fences so sometimes players are growing and collecting them for this purpose. Asking takes seconds so make sure you do it.

7 Don't: Run Over Or Pick Flowers

You'll often find an island with a beautiful flower garden. These can take a long time to carefully craft and many are designed to breed valuable hybrids. As such anyone running through the flowers can really upset a host.

Picking flowers is even worse as you can stop hybrids from forming by picking the plants needed to make them grow. Basically, if it isn't your garden then treat it with respect and look but don't touch.

6 Do: Ask If Plants Need Watering

If you want to help maintain someone's garden, often seen as an easy way to thank them, then ask about watering plants. Some players may leave signs up indicating thirsty flowers but others may not.

Asking what needs a watering can allow you to save a player time and watering cans, giving a little something back. Just be careful as you go not to pick the flowers or trample the garden!

5 Don't: Move Items

It is of no consequence if you think something is out of line or would look better elsewhere. You do not mess with another player's island design. Most items can be moved but it doesn't mean you should move them.

If you start moving things around expect your host to get very irate. Many players are incredibly particular about their designs and don't want unsolicited advice or "help."

4 Do: Bring Things To Exchange

It's a nice gesture if you bring things to exchange. Especially if someone else's island is in its infancy then bringing along some non-native fruit and some of those elusive iron nuggets can really help them get going.

Duplicate DIY recipes, flowers, and duplicate furniture or fossils are also great items to pass on if you can. Why not pack a few and see if you can find a helpful trade? It will benefit both of you.

3 Don't: Steal Items

This should be obvious but sadly it really isn't. Some players still seem to think that stealing rare or high-value items especially is a great idea. Here's the thing, it's a lose lose situation. All you are doing is encouraging a player to keep the gates closed and stopping yourself and others from benefitting.

It's also entirely unnecessary. Items can be cataloged easily and then you can get them for yourself, it will just cost you a few nook miles, which are easy enough to collect. Don't ruin things for everyone else to save a little currency.

2 Do: Ask If You Can Catalog Things

Cataloging is a great way to expand your nook store selection. All it involves is you picking up an item then dropping it back down on the ground for your friend to put back. The act of doing this means it will then show up in your nook store on your own island.

You'll be able to purchase it as usual through the guest services ATM and receive it in the mail. If you're polite and ask about cataloging a friend may even bring items from their home outside for you, allowing you to further increase your store choice.

1 Don't: Be Disrespectful

This rule is at the top of the list as really it's the only one that matters. Don't be disrespectful . Opening your Animal Crossing island is a risk for players, especially if it's open to strangers via dodo code shared on social media. Don't be the person that spoils it.

If you're about to do something that you'd hate someone to do to you then quite simply, don't do it. Say hello, ask for permission if unsure, be polite, and have fun. It's really that simple.
