The Putah Creek Winery is situated on the currently dry “north fork” of Putah Creek, on the southern city limits of Davis, California. Founded by Gene & Cathy Glaeser, who have owned and lived on their Davies ranch for more than 20 years, the winery was originally used as large farmland for rice, alfalfa hay, wheat, etc.

In 2006, they channelled their operations towards vineyards and stopped farming other crops. Their first products were purchased by Napa and San Francisco bay area wineries and to home winemakers, which all attested to the quality of wines they made.

From 2004 till date, the Putah Creek Winery has been popular for manufacturing amazing and quality wines, such as Chardonnay, Syrah, Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Viognier, and Tannat. Their excellent production of tasty wine has won them so many awards over the years.

Their award-winning wines begin with skillfully farmed local grapes, which were turned into hand-made, quality wine. The Putah Creek has garnered several awards, like California State Fair Wine Competition, San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, 2014, and more.

The California Raptor Center (CRC) is a research and education establishment that was created to care for and rehabilitate orphaned and injured birds of prey, also called raptors.

The facility takes in up to 350 injured, sick, and abandoned raptors each year. They are able to successfully treat the majority to allow them to return to their natural habitat.

The center offers hands-on instruction in the management and care of birds of prey in addition to training programs designed for students, environmental and ecological organizations, the community, and the university.

The Mary L. Stephens Library

Part of the Yolo County Library system, the Mary L. Stephens Library was initially knowns as the Davis Branch, as signified in the picture below. They only changed the name in December 2006 in honor of the previous Yolo County Librarian who had worked diligently from 1969 to 2006.

They kept other returned books and accessories at Patwin Elementary, close to the primary garage at Marguerite Montgomery Elementary School. In 2011, the school was used as a little satellite, often available on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm and Tuesdays from 5 pm to 9 pm.

It offers a small browsing collection, internet computers, and pickup of materials initially put on hold via the catalogue. Their services also include internet WIFI, color, black & white printing, copying and scanning, wireless/remote printing, faxing.

They also created two free rooms for community use, and a small conference room, offering spaces for reservations, hosting of events, etc. Meanwhile, because of the Nov. 2007 Election/Measure P, the building was closed down for renovation and reopened in July 2009.
