Def Leppard and Journey Unite for Massive U.S. Stadium Tour

Journey and Def Leppard are teaming up for a massive U.S. summer stadium tour, and they’re bringing Cheap Trick, Steve Miller Band, and Heart with them at various spots along the way. Expect a night of mega Eighties hits like “Don’t Stop Believin,” “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Faithfully,” “Photograph” and (depending on where you live) “The Flame,” “Abracadabra,” and “These Dreams.”

“Having just completed a sensational 18 month run promoting our Diamond Star Halos album,” Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott said in a statement, “we shall hit the boards running with a brand-new stage show and set of songs that will celebrate specific parts of our history. We may even have a surprise or two up our sleeves … so, wanna join us !??! … See you in the summer !”

Journey guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Jonathan Cain have spent the past year battling each other in the court system and the press, but it somehow hasn’t slowed down the band’s touring machine. They crisscrossed the country with Toto last year, and they’re playing arenas together again in the early months of 2024.

DEF LEPPARD And JOURNEY Announce 2024 Stadium Tour With HEART, CHEAP TRICK And STEVE MILLER BAND

Two of rock's most iconic and influential bands, JOURNEY and DEF LEPPARD , have announced next summer's hottest co-headlining stadium tour. The bands will join forces to conquer stadium stages across North America in 2024. This legendary collaboration promises a musical journey like no other, igniting the hearts and souls of fans and delivering a night of unforgettable rock anthems. The 23-city tour kicks off on July 6 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO, while making stops at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN; SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, CA; Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL; JOURNEY 's hometown of San Francisco, CA at Oracle Park and more before wrapping up in Denver, CO at Coors Field on September 8. An all-star lineup of bands will vary by city to round out an evening of rock music with performances by: STEVE MILLER BAND , HEART and CHEAP TRICK . Fans can check local markets for their lineup. General public onsale is Friday, December 15 at 10 a.m. local time.

This is not the first time these two bands have joined forces for a summer concert tour. They've previously staged similar cross-country tours in 2006 and 2018.

Journey and Def Leppard announced today that they’ll be launching a Summer Stadium Tour together in 2024, bringing along for the ride a slew of special guests that is sure to stoke excitement among classic rock fans.

The combination of Journey and Def Lep alone equals absolute rock ‘n’ roll glory, never mind the fact that they’re bringing along headline-worthy classic rockers the Steve Miller Band, Heart, and Cheap Trick at select dates. You don’t have to take our word for it – rock fans know at a glance this is not one to miss.

The tour will be making 23 stops across the U.S., kicking off in St. Louis, MO before taking the Midwest and both coasts by storm. Stops include LA’s SoFi Stadium, Chicago’s Wrigley Field, Nashville’s Nissan Stadium, and Journey’s hometown ballpark, Oracle Stadium in San Francisco.

Tickets will be first available Thursday, December 7 via an official presale, which you can find on the tour’s website . An exclusive Citi Presale for cardholders will begin Wednesday, December 13. Finally, general onsale begins Friday, December 15.

Def Leppard, Journey team for stadium tour: 'We may have a surprise or two up our sleeves'

The anthems will be loud and frequent when Journey and Def Leppard take a spin through stadiums this summer.

The rock powerhouses are teaming for a 23-city tour that will kick off July 6, 2024, at Busch Stadium in St. Louis and wrap Sept. 8 at Coors Field in Denver.

While the bands have a stockpile of smashes including “Any Way You Want It,” “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Photograph” and “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” respectively, they’ll also be joined by fellow hitmakers Steve Miller Band , Heart and Cheap Trick in varying markets (see list below).

Registration for presale tickets begins at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT on Dec. 7 at www.defleppardjourney2024.com .

Both Journey and Def Leppard have been road warriors lately. Def Leppard played a sold-out stadium run in summer 2022 with Motley Crue, Poison and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and continued a worldwide tour with Motley Crue in 2023.

Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott shared that the band's set will celebrate specific parts of the rockers' history. "We may even have a surprise or two up our sleeves," he said in a statement.

Journey recently announced a spate of 2024 dates for their 50 th anniversary Freedom tour, which will play arenas across the U.S. between Feb. 9 and April 29.

Journey, Def Leppard bringing Summer Stadium Tour to Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Journey and Def Leppard are coming to Pittsburgh next summer.

The two legendary rock groups will be joined by Steve Miller Band at PNC Park on July 27.

Journey and Def Leppard announced The Summer Stadium Tour 2024 on Thursday. Throughout the tour, they'll also be supported by Heart and Cheap Trick on select dates. 

The tour kicks off in Saint Louis at Busch Stadium and makes more than two dozen stops across North America before wrapping up in Denver at Coors Field on Sept. 8. The bands will be in Pennsylvania two more times with shows scheduled at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on July 23 and Hersheypark Stadium on July 25.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. with a presale leading up to that date. 

Another major rock concert is also on the schedule for PNC Park next year. Green Day and The Smashing Pumpkins  will play on Sept. 1. The Savior Tour celebrates the release of Green Day's new album with the same title, set to drop on Jan. 19, as well as 30 years of "Dookie" and 20 years of "American Idiot."

Def Leppard and Journey Announce Co-Headlining 2024 Tour with Support from Cheap Trick, Heart and Steve Miller Band

The rock legends are teaming up for a summer 2024 North American tour

Fans are in for a rock of ages next summer. 

On Thursday, rock legends Def Leppard and Journey announced they’re hitting the road on a co-headlining stadium tour. The ‘80s favorites, who previously teamed up on a 2018 joint tour, will be setting out across North America in summer 2024 — and they’re making it a show classic rock fans will remember by bringing along fellow icons Cheap Trick , Heart and Steve Miller Band on select dates.

The 23-city tour begins on July 6 in St. Louis, Missouri and continues through Sept. 8 when they wrap up in Denver, Colorado. Along the way, the two Rock and Hall of Fame inductees will bring their show to stadiums in major cities like Chicago, Nashville, Boston, Toronto, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and more.

Cheap Trick will help kick off and close out the tour, while Steve Miller Band will play the majority of shows and Heart will join them on three dates. 

The tour comes after the “Pour Some Sugar on Me” band played another nostalgic tour throughout 2023 with fellow heavy metal group Mötley Crüe . 

While the band featuring frontman Joe Elliott , drummer Rick Allen, guitarist Vivian Campbell, guitarist Phil Collen and bassist Rick Savage and is set to play their fan-favorite hits, their recent run of shows follows the 2022 release of their 12th studio album Diamond Star Halos . 

As for the “Don’t Stop Believin’” group, they’ll join up with Def Leppard after playing their Freedom Tour , which celebrates their 50th anniversary as a band and the recent release of 2022’s Freedom . The six-piece made up of keyboardist Jonathan Cain, drummer Deen Castronovo, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, bassist Todd Jensen, guitarist Neal Schon, vocalist Arnel Pineda first kicked off the Freedom Tour back in 2022 and they'll play its last leg across North America in 2024 from February to late April.

The Def Leppard frontman, 64, shared a statement in a press release about the upcoming tour. “DEF LEPPARD and JOURNEY will be reuniting and hitting the road together for the Summer Stadium Tour with Steve Miller, Cheap Trick & Heart on select shows, which makes for an amazing night of music !”

The “Love Bites” singer continued, “Having just completed a sensational 18 month run promoting our Diamond Star Halos album, we shall hit the boards running with a brand-new stage show and set of songs that will celebrate specific parts of our history.  We may even have a surprise or two up our sleeves … so, wanna join us !??! … See you in the summer !”

Pop superstar Lana Del Rey just announced she will swing into Fenway Park for her first-ever stadium show on Thursday, June 20.

Other notable acts set to perform at the Red Sox’ home field these next few months include Hootie and The Blowfish, Noah Kahan, Kane Brown, Foo Fighters and Blink 182.

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

6. Novoslobodskaya Metro Station  was built in 1952. It has 32 stained glass murals with brass borders.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

8. Mayakovskaya Metro Station built in 1938. It was named after Russian poet Vladmir Mayakovsky. This is one of the most beautiful metro stations in the world with 34 mosaics painted by Alexander Deyneka.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.

10. Teatralnaya Metro Station (Theatre Metro Station) is located near the Bolshoi Theatre.
