I am going to be just factual, not bad mouthing nor complaining, but this was my experience. With 3 pieces of luggage, I was told the flight from Mumbai to Dubai was cancelled due to flood. This was told not by the airport board which still showed the regular time of departure, but general stuff at the airport. No Emirates stuff around to direct the transfer passengers of the cancelled flights. By the departure counters with crowds of people, one by one, angry, frustrated, urgent conversations were going on. No announcement were made, no postings being seen, just private conversations. I still have 5+ hours of layover, so I let more urgent people settled first. However, the fact that no communication of when, what and where I should go was very unsettling. Basically no time limit waiting means, no meal, no sleep, no step away, no planning, no change plan, no telling of the family what to do. Nobody was able to tell you anything but asked you to wait, no chair, no space, no facility to freshen up. That went on for 10+ (from 5) hour without warnings and accurate communications. Email received from Emirates asked me not to go to Dubai at all, or boarding at the time that was passed. In other words, communication were very untimely, after the fact. That created more confusion instead. After changing several of boarding time, we were given the gate # and a boarding pass. However, the boarding pass still have the original time of boarding, so again, not knowing walking 30 min in the airport to the gate would make you late or not, therefore, still dare not to eat a meal. The flight arriving to Dubai was uneventful and I gave a 4/5 rating. I just thought the layover at Dubai would just cut short from 8+ hours to 2+ hours. At Dubai airport, I saw people sleeping on cardboard, knowing, these people got stranded but they dared to sleep because they know when to board and I didn't. Or these kind of delay are just so normal that people know what to do to pass time. Then the worst service and crazy thing happened. The boarding time on board for LA and at gate A9 was clearly 8:50AM. At 8:40, surprised by not having any boarding activities, then one single staff showed up and said to a few passengers that the boarding would be delayed without a time frame. Since only a few people know, I asked another Emirates staff at another counter, who simply said basically non of his business. I was shocked with that indifferent attitude. Yet every boards I saw show the same boarding time. What kind of system failure was that to prepare delay situation! How confusing and unnecessary chaos and anger that provoke. That poor staff had to repeat himself so many times, answered questions that he had no power nor information to provide nor solved. One an only one stuff to show up for 10 min, leaving the counter non-staff with board showing 8:50AM boarding. This was purely irresponsible from top to bottom of the entire airline operation staff. What kind of leader in a service industry would allow this to happen to their customers. Without explanation, after changing 3 times the boarding times, again, means you should not go to eat a full meal, because, when you found a mob at the gate. People who were stranded for 2 days were afraid of not getting a seat with a full plane. That would not be happening if the airline provide adequate guidance to each person, instead of just having 4 staff yelling at the gate at the same time to "control" the crowd, threatening no boarding and delay boarding. Finally, I was on board, hungry and tired, not sleep for 36 hours. I was denied with a snack of fruit. By the time meal was served, it was an hour later. Half way of the trip, I felt sleep in fetus position and did not want to move, happy I finally could have some shut eyes time. However, when I got up to the bathroom, I felt very light headed. Having sleep deprived, constipated for 3 days, dehydrated, I knew it could happen since my blood pressure usually was low closed to 90/60. Any lower then that, I could have syncope. Sure enough, I was on the floor just 10 feet from my seat and 5 feet to the bathroom. However, nobody called for help. I asked for warm water and juice to hydrate, came only with cold and icy drinks which I wouldn't take. I asked for blankets, one was given. Yet my shivering, needs to cover my head and multiple requests did not hasten to take the two blankets that are at my seat 10 feet away. I waited 10 min for that. While 2-3 staff surrounded me, nobody did the vitals until after 15 min, just the spirometer only of which did not work due to my cold fingers. The first reading was 86 and oxygen was suggested. But another supervising personnel came, fussed over another reading, ignoring my comfort and needs. Seemingly the reading of spirometer was the priority. By then, no oxygen needed. I had this fainting experience before, and I knew how to help myself. However, I was not being listened to but to be told this and that. Finally, I got better and returned to seat. One kind flight attendant said she would check back with me in 15 min. She did not come back. I felt asleep in that fetus position again and this time I woke up with a bad cramp at my left leg. Yet I needed to go to bathroom, the cramp was too bad to walk. So I stepped back to seat. When I tried again the second time, the other front leg got cramp. This time I dare not move but massaged myself. For all these 5-10 min, I called for attention. Attendants passed me by because they were carried with heavy load of blankets and stuff. Nobody answered the light. Then came landing and off board. I was asked by two attendants how I felt. I smiled and said "fine".

The customer service was very poor. I didn’t get any accommodations for my cancelled flight. I was without any sleep for 36 hours.

The customers before boarding the plane from Dubai was HORRENDOUS. The entire Emirates staff had a stick up their bum. The guy at the check in booth was rude. I don’t understand.

Checkin and boarding staff at Delhi Airport is not cooperative with passengers Their behavior very humiliating . They don’t allow Lap top bag and Ladies’ purse/vanity bag which most of the airlines allow besides cabin baggage and check in baggages. They try to charge extra payment on the pretext of small variations which normally other Airlines staff don’t do. Airline staff should be courteous & cooperative but check in staff of Emirates Airline at Delhi was not so at all.

We were in the last group to be called to the flight - which was 30 minutes late taking off. While we were lucky enough to have been given bulkhead seats (due to a medical condition I’d told them about beforehand) the seats weren’t particularly comfortable. A crying baby for the whole trip made things worse, so the crew managed very well with coping. The final thing I’d say was that there wasn’t enough food served during the flight.

Surprisingly easy! I was hesitant to try this, but the cost swayed me. I actually felt like I had less stress than all the taxiing and possible delays that occur with short regional flights where you spend less time in the air than getting to and from the plane..

This flight was delayed multiple times and eventually canceled around 2-3ish. Original take off time was around 10:30am. By 3, there were no other options out of Houston, so stuck in Houston for from 3pm - 11am the next day.

I paid $380 for my one-way ticket from California to Minnesota. The fair did not include online check-in. I received instructions from their app to check in at a kiosk. At the kiosk, the boarding pass would not print until an actual person came to verify that I had a personal item and not a carry-on item, On the plane, the person next to me was drunk and allowed to continue to order alcohol. United is garbage I’d rather fly spirit.

The food that was offered based on class level of your ticket was absolutely ridiculous and disgusting. They didn't even hot tea to serve, the food was horrible. On our departure flight I was seated in premium plus economy and considering the cost of the flight the food was literally some of the worst I've ever eaten. On the return flight I sat in economy with extra leg room and was given a thin little throw "blanket" and a flimsy little pillow. The air condition was on artic and the seating arrangement wasn't really worth the money. The seat didn't recline good enough and the foot rest was laughable. Total waste.

my original flight was cancelled the previous day, and i was rescheduled onto this flight, which left much earlier in the morning, impacting my previous evening and requiring me to get up much earlier in the morning to get to the airport online. I really did not like being ordered to pull my shade down by the attendants. One of them was very rude to me about it, standing there until I closed it like I was a child brusquely reaching across me to close an adjoining one. They claim it was so people who wanted to could sleep. It’s a 10:30am flight not a red eye. Closing your shade or leaving it up for natural light should be a choice. Ruined my flight!

Communication was terrible. Flight was delayed for 4-5 hours in DC (on the front end, and also after we boarded, we had to get off - some issue with fueling the old plane correctly). There was little to no information on timing or what was happening. Once we reach Delhi airspace, apparently there was weather that caused us not to land - we were actually near the ground, saw the run way, and lifted back up to the sky after being sooo close. Then we circled for about 30 minutes, and they decided to go to Jaipur to land until the weather cleared and to refuel. Again, once we landed in Jaipur (wrong city), there was little to no information on timing or what was happening. Then we heard that the crew was reaching their 24 hours. We sat on the place, on the tarmac for another 3 HOURS, with no food and not enough water for everyone on the flight. Then, they kicked us off the plane with no plan, in the wrong city. We went thru customs, got our bags (thank goodness), and had to ask a bunch of staff what was happening and what to do. Eventually, their soltuion was to bus people back to Delhi (like 6 hours we were told) but not everyone would fit on the bus, and unknown timing on when it would leave. At this point it was 9PM (we were scheduled to arrive in Delhi at 11AM...). My husband and I decided to risk it and take a cab that we had to pay ourselves (about $200 US dollars) to get to Delhi (about 5 hour drive). We both had terrible trips back to the US as well - almost missed connecting flight, forced to pay for carry-on luggage (a small back pack!) and duty-free goods by the Air India staff last minute. Just terrible experience all around. Never again with AI! The ONLY good thing was the air hostesses were kind and patient - example: they made sure people with food allergies got their correct. However, the TV's did not work so I'm glad we brought our own entertainment.

The Air India lounge in Delhi , was very disappointing! The food was of poor quality and options were limited especially for vegetarians!! Beverages were fine. The in flight crew was excellent! . They helped me with my seat controls - the controls did not work without a hassle or assistance!! A very poor showing for a Business cabin!!! Post flight , the wheel chair passengers ( including Me) were “ shepherded and left waiting twice (an hour or more) before taking us to immigration! I chose to Fly Air India because I want. to patronize our National carrier with the hope that the experience will improve!!! Regrettably, I will have to look at other options for my next trip to India

Air India needs to launch new planes. Seats are worn out, most of the plane's TV screens wasn't working, USB charging ports wasn't working as well so I can charge my phone & watch my download movies, Food was mediocre, the plane smells. One of my worst experiences. Nothing was working in the flight. Entertainment system was broken, seat was very uncomfortable, crew did not offer water until food was provided, lights were not working, attendant call was not working. In short everything was broken and duct taped.

Old aircraft, crew were so so. Meals were mediocre. Flight to delhi was delayed. Lounge needs update and was mediocre too.

The food on board the flight was atrocious - tasteless, spicy as hell, and simply a hodge podge of nonsensical items of poor quality.

The crew smile nicely when you board and exit, in between they are sullen and innattentive

Flight got canceled without any prior information and it caused lot of trouble

Worst ever. No assistance and communication from Emirates crew. No visibility of when the flight is flying. Couldn’t understand if we can go to lounge to take rest. Emirates system at a certain point said flight is not operating and suggested to take the next flight and in few minutes it suddenly opened the gate for boarding. unsupportive and rude crew. Worst experience ever. Flight was delayed by 5 hours so need the compensation for that.

Staff were friendly, and provided great service. The food was plentiful and delicious. Food could have been hotter.

I was traveling business purposes and I only had one carry on and a personal computer back pack . My carry on was 8.5 kg little more than allowable. At jfk airport check in they did not let me carry it . I was little disappointed.

More leg room and comfortable seats at least for long flights

The entertainment selections are amazing. But the live TV is sometimes spotty. If you’re going to have it, then have it. If you can’t make it consistent, then, perhaps it’s better not to have it. The crew are always cordial when approached, but they seem to do the minimum and sit around, talking to each other in the back of the plane during the flight. I realize that delays are not always predictable, but I missed my flight in Dubai because we left 90 minutes late from Washington. I will say that Emirates took very good care of me in Dubai. But I would rather not be delayed.

It has been a couple of years since I flew with Etihad last, after having a unpleasant experience with them coming out of the pandemic. I can say that the experience has uplifted, but I can’t really rate the service. At Barcelona airport the service was great, with their dedicated Etihad staff very helpful. The onboard experience wasn’t great, not very personalised and it really makes sense why Etihad doesn’t feature in the top 10 2023 Skytrax awards. The crew just seemed to be inattentive and almost absent from the cabin. I felt that I had to keep getting their attention. Even after I’d finished my meal, an hour went by before I had to call them to clear the tray/plate etc.

One thing is very important is you people not giving seat arrangement together to couple, senior citizen. You have to take care of senior citizen. Do not look about money. Money is not important everywhere. Make relationship strong is very very important. I like Etiyad air line out of all air line. Food was hot and delicious. Entertainment did not work from flight from Abu Dhabi to Kolkata. Emirates has a much better flight in that sector.

Food was very good. Again tray could use a non-skid mat. I had a regular seat - comfortable - able to sleep undisturbed. Boarding was uneventful.

Boarding was quick and efficient. Ground staff were pleasant and courteous. Food was tasty, portions were good for me. Food containers kept slipping on the tray. Tray would look better with an anti-skid tray mat. I had the bulkhead seat which was very uncomfortable for couple of reasons. Aircraft is designed with no throughput to move across aisle to aisle. Passengers kept jumping over my legs to get from one side to the other to use the toilet. Secondly I had a mother and 9 month baby next to me. Mom had to hold baby for 12 hours in her lap as he did not fit into the bassinet. Half the baby was on my lap during the flight. Aircraft temperature was very cold - light attendant said it was the central cooling and nothing could be done about it. Movie selection was very poor old and outdated.

There is no recline on flight from DFW to FRA. Middle eastern airways provide better recline option for the same class. FRA to Bangalore has better recline option. I bid 100$ for premium economy, my request was declined. But staff handled it without issues.

Very disappointing it missed my flight but more disappointing that it has taken so long to arrive. Failure on the airlines and service to get my luggage to date.

Communication was terrible. Flight was delayed for 4-5 hours in DC (on the front end, and also after we boarded, we had to get off - some issue with fueling the old plane correctly). There was little to no information on timing or what was happening. Once we reach Delhi airspace, apparently there was weather that caused us not to land - we were actually near the ground, saw the run way, and lifted back up to the sky after being sooo close. Then we circled for about 30 minutes, and they decided to go to Jaipur to land until the weather cleared and to refuel. Again, once we landed in Jaipur (wrong city), there was little to no information on timing or what was happening. Then we heard that the crew was reaching their 24 hours. We sat on the place, on the tarmac for another 3 HOURS, with no food and not enough water for everyone on the flight. Then, they kicked us off the plane with no plan, in the wrong city. We went thru customs, got our bags (thank goodness), and had to ask a bunch of staff what was happening and what to do. Eventually, their soltuion was to bus people back to Delhi (like 6 hours we were told) but not everyone would fit on the bus, and unknown timing on when it would leave. At this point it was 9PM (we were scheduled to arrive in Delhi at 11AM...). My husband and I decided to risk it and take a cab that we had to pay ourselves (about $200 US dollars) to get to Delhi (about 5 hour drive). We both had terrible trips back to the US as well - almost missed connecting flight, forced to pay for carry-on luggage (a small back pack!) and duty-free goods by the Air India staff last minute. Just terrible experience all around. Never again with AI! The ONLY good thing was the air hostesses were kind and patient - example: they made sure people with food allergies got their correct.

Everything! To start with, seats, food tray table, entertainment console all are broken! Imposing duty free baggage fees for $250 as a surprise penalty cannot be appreciated! Airlines should be responsible for transferring the checked baggages to the connecting flight. Having customer go through the transfer is painful considering the travel tiredness! No soft drinks served on flight is another crumble!

Federal investigators say they have broken up a multimillion-dollar money laundering ring involving flight attendants who allegedly abused their airport access to smuggle $8 million in drug funds out of the U.S. (Obtained by Fox News Digital)

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Federal agents hauled a flight attendant out of New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport as they broke up an international money laundering ring that prosecutors allege smuggled $8 million in drug-related proceeds out of the U.S. by taking advantage of flight crews' easy airport access.

Four airline employees, three from New York and another from New Jersey, are accused of taking a cut of each shipment as they snuck it through special employee-access lanes at Transportation Security Administration checkpoints and onto flights bound for the Dominican Republic.

The suspects all had special clearance with the TSA under the Known Crewmember Program, or KCM. Airline employees with KCM status have a separate, expedited security lane and face less scrutiny, according to federal prosecutors.

"In effect, given these loosened security procedures, KCM privileges allow flight attendants to bypass airport security with large quantities of cash without that cash being seized," the federal criminal complaint reads.

Charlie Hernandez, 42; Sarah Valerio Pujols, 42; Emmanuel Torres, 34; and Jarol Fabio 35, each face federal felony charges of operating an unlicensed money transmission business and violating airport security requirements.

"As alleged, the defendants knowingly smuggled large amounts of illicit money linked to the sale of narcotics, to include fentanyl, and took advantage of airport security checkpoints by using their trusted positions as flight attendants," Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Ivan Arvelo said Wednesday. "This investigation has exposed critical vulnerabilities in the airline security industry and has illuminated methods that narcotics traffickers are utilizing."

They allegedly used the code word "lotions" to mean drug cash and allegedly checked in with their handlers for cargo in advance of flights to the Caribbean nation and referred to the smuggling ring's drug-dealing clients as "los tigres," Spanish for "the tigers." When referring to "stuff," they meant the drugs, including fentanyl, that led to the illicit proceeds.

Hernandez is accused of smuggling at least $2.5 million between 2014 and 2019, according to court documents. During that same span, Pujols allegedly transported at least $1.5 million on flights to the Dominican Republic. Both Torres and Fabio are accused of smuggling more than $1.5 million apiece between 2015 and last year and face up to 15 years in prison.

In exchange for getting the cash through TSA checkpoints , they each allegedly received a small cut — around $1,000 to $2,000 per $60,000 smuggled.

"As alleged, these flight attendants smuggled millions of dollars of drug money and law enforcement funds that they thought was drug money from the United States to the Dominican Republic over many years by abusing their privileges as airline employees," U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams said in a statement.

Hernandez also faces conspiracy charges, bringing his maximum prison sentence to 20 years. Pujols faces the same conspiracy charge and an additional count of bulk cash smuggling, increasing her maximum possible penalty to 25 years behind bars if convicted.

She had been fired by her employer, an unspecified international airline , in 2019. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents allegedly found $60,000 in undeclared cash in her purse during a check on Dec. 20 of that year, according to the complaint.

Homeland Security Investigations and the NYPD began investigating an international drug trafficking and money laundering ring in 2018, leading them to an informant identified in court documents as "Cooperating Witness 1," who sold out his alleged mules.

After CBP agents stopped Pujols, the informant told federal investigators that Hernandez had another $60,000 which is currently unaccounted for.

The long-awaited first crewed test flight of Boeing's new Starliner space capsule was called off on Tuesday over a technical issue. The postponement, attributed to an issue with a valve in the rocket's second stage, was announced during a live NASA webcast.

The Boeing Starliner was set to lift off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida's Cape Canaveral at 8.04 am India time.

"NASA, Boeing, and United Launch Alliance scrubbed the launch opportunity on Monday, May 6 for the agency’s Boeing Crew Flight Test to the International Space Station due to a faulty oxygen relief valve observation on the United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket Centaur second stage," the space agency said in a statement.

The two-member crew - NASA astronauts Barry Wilmore, 61, and Sunita Williams, 58 - were strapped into their seats aboard the spacecraft about an hour before launch activities were suspended.

They will be assisted out of the capsule by technicians to await a second launch attempt.

The duo were to launch atop a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, with liftoff scheduled for 8.04 am IST on Tuesday.

Williams, who has been waiting in line for a commercial crew flight for nearly a decade, was initially assigned to the program in 2015 due to her extensive experience in spacecraft development . She was later assigned to the CFT mission in 2022.

The next available launch window for the mission is Tuesday night, but no decision was immediately made for when a second liftoff attempt would be made.

During the approximately 10-day mission, Wilmore and Williams will thoroughly test the Starliner's systems and capabilities, paving the way for the spacecraft to begin operational crew flights to the space station.

Passengers grounded in UAE, India after cabin crew takes sick leave 'at the last minute'

Dubai: Passengers travelling between UAE and India were among those stranded after multiple Air India Express flights were cancelled or delayed from Tuesday night onwards.

The low-cost airline of Air India said the disruption was a result of “a section of our cabin crew” reporting sick “at the last minute”.

The TATA Group-owned carrier added: “Guests impacted by cancellations will be offered a full refund or complimentary rescheduling to another date. Guests flying with us today [Wednesday] are requested to check if their flight is affected, before heading to the airport.”

“While we are engaging with the crew to understand the reasons behind these occurrences, our teams are actively addressing this issue to minimise any inconvenience caused to our guests as a result,” the airline said on Wednesday.

“We sincerely apologise to our guests for this unexpected disruption and emphasise that this situation does not reflect the standard of service we strive to provide.”

Stuck in UAE

Vijayakumar Govindarasu, who was scheduled to fly from Sharjah to Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu at 9.30pm on Wednesday, was among passengers from the UAE whose flights have been cancelled.

“After hearing about the flight disruptions, I decided to go to the airport early and checked with the airline and they said my flight was cancelled. I am stuck here now. I am checking with other airlines if I can get on to any other flight tonight itself,” he told Gulf News from Sharjah International Airport on Wednesday evening.

Stranded in India

Many flights to and from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah have been cancelled, according to the flight status provided on the airline’s website. Sources said while many flights from the UAE were cancelled, operations to some destinations in India were unaffected.

Television reports and videos on social media posts from India showed several passengers including those heading to the UAE stranded at different airports. Among those stranded were people who were on emergency leave, some facing immediate expiry of visas and those required to report to work immediately.

Sharjah resident Abraham M was among hundreds of passengers who were stranded in India.

Speaking to Gulf News from Kerala, Abraham said he had gone home for a 10-day leave after his father had fallen sick. “My flight to Dubai was scheduled at 5am today [Wednesday] from Thiruvananthapuram. When I reached the airport, I saw on the display board that an Abu Dhabi flight was delayed. But, the airline staff said the Dubai flight would operate. However, both the Abu Dhabi and Dubai flights were cancelled later.”

Abraham said the passengers questioned the airline ground staff following which they opened a ticket counter outside the terminal. “There were many people who had to reach the UAE immediately. Some passengers got their tickets cancelled so that they could fly on other airlines while some passengers got their tickets rescheduled,” said Abraham who got his ticket rescheduled and went back home.

WhatsApp number, Chatbot service

The airline also shared a WhatsApp number (+916360012345) for refunds or free rescheduling of impacted flights.

"If their flight is cancelled, or delayed beyond 3 hours, they may opt for a full refund or reschedule to a later date without any fees," Air India Express said in an updated statement.

Afi Ahmed, founder of Smart Travel Group, said: “The airline authorities have said they are working on operating the flights without disruptions. However, several flights were affected today [Wednesday] and passengers are... calling travel agencies. We are also advising them to check the flight status on the website of the airline before heading to the airports.”

He said affected passengers can either cancel their ticket and avail a refund or reschedule their flight to a date within a week without any additional charges via the airline’s website.

“All these services can be done through the chatbot on the site. Passengers can directly book the next available flight. If they need a refund, they can opt for the same. If they had booked the ticket online, the refund will be credited to the card they used to purchase the ticket. If the ticket was purchased via a travel agency, the refund amount will be directed through the agency,” added Ahmed.
