FIND YOUR PEOPLE!
Groups have one simple purpose – to cultivate authentic relationships within a community, where people are being transformed to live and love like Jesus. That is why Journey is a church of groups and not a church with groups.

COMMON QUESTIONS
What happens at a small group meeting.
You’ve probably seen Small Groups meeting and not even realized it. A small group looks like friends at lunch, teams playing basketball, or people studying a book or topic of interest. At its core, a small group is a small gathering of people, and it is less about what you do and more about who you do it with. By participating in Small Groups, you can expect to connect with others through a common activity, engage in life giving conversation and request prayer.
How often does a small group meet?
Our Small Groups meet for three semesters a year—winter/spring, summer and fall. During the semester, most groups meet once a week. Small Groups are meant to bring meaning and community into the flow of your life, so even if you can’t attend every meeting, there is still great value in joining a group.
Where do small groups meet?
Groups meet all throughout Palm Beach County!
How long does a typical small group stay together?
Most Small Groups meet for a semester. This way, new people can join groups easily and regularly. Also, the semester format allows you to try multiple groups each year. As relationships form, some groups choose to stay together for consecutive semesters, but new members are always welcome.
Is there childcare available?
Childcare varies from group to group. When you search our directory for a group, the group profile will indicate if childcare is available.
What if I don’t like the first group I try?
The truth is, not everyone will find the best fit with the first group they try. This is why we encourage you to select a few groups that interest you, contact the leaders and try out a couple different groups before choosing the best one for you. The simple strategy to finding success in Small Groups is to not give up. We believe there is a group that is right for everyone—including you!
JOURNEY GROUPS AUGUST 4-10
We are in this together
We believe community is essential to growing spiritually. We are not made to do life alone. That’s why we encourage everyone to get into a group. All you have to do is show up, join in, and be real.
Young Adult Groups
Whether you're starting your first job, in college, or making a transition, become part of a group that values spiritual growth while building friendships that will last a lifetime. Young Adults groups are available on all of our in-person locations for ages 18 to 25.
Care Groups
Care Groups provide a network of short-term groups that offer helpful resources, encouragement, and advice from someone who understands what you’re going through. With topics on finances, marriage, and divorce these groups offer a fresh perspective on your situation.
LifeGroup Serve
As the Church, we are the hands and feet of Jesus. As a LifeGroup, you will get to choose a serving oppurtunity you are passionate about! This is how we show who we are as a church, so our goal is to maintain an ongoing partnership with our neighbors, and love like Jesus. Be a part of something bigger!
Community Groups
You were designed by God to live in community. Finding meaningful relationships happens best in groups, where you are surrounded by people who encourage and challenge you.
Upcoming Groups
Become a Group Leader
Group leaders create a place where people can be real and grow. They are ordinary people God uses for his extraordinary purposes. They play a unique role in others' faith journeys and find that their faith grows along the way.
It’s easier than ever to lead because we’re providing everything you need, including weekly studies, ideas for socials, and more. We provide the plan. You provide the leadership.

What is a Journey Group?
Journey Groups are groups of 10-15 people who meet weekly to build community, care collectively, and be strengthened spiritually. This year, our church family is reading through the Foundations 260 Bible Reading Plan in our personal times with the Lord, in our Journey Groups, and on Sunday.
Learn one way to study the bible.
We have Journey Groups that meet almost every night of the week. You can see specific dates and times at the link above.
Journey Groups can meet anywhere: someones house, a coffee shop, a park, and some even choose to meet at the church.
No, you do not have to be a partner of Journey to join a group.
Most Journey Groups meet weekly.
A Journey Group usually lasts an hour and a half to two hours each week.
Journey Group leaders are provided a biblically centered curriculum determined by the church leadership. Under some circumstances the Journey Group leader may lead another study approved by church leadership.
We believe that growing in a relationship with God is best done in close and personal relationships with others, rather than simply sitting in a pew. We believe in the value of walking through life together. If you are interested in joining a short-term or ongoing small group at Journey, click the link below to fill out an interest form. If you would like to contact our pastoral staff, reach out to us here so we can help get you connected.

Small Groups
where connections are formed
One Step Closer to Finding Connection
Journey Church is a church made up of small groups. We feel it is necessary for the growth of the person, both relationally and spiritually, to be involved in a small group. Here you will find friendship, accountability, and friend who can become like family that will challenge you in your walk with Jesus.
You can search through our online Small Group Directory to find a group that fits your interest and your schedule. Become connected in a group by reaching out to the group leader for more information or by contacting our main office which can put you in contact with one of our small group leaders as well.
What is a small group?
Journey Church small groups are smaller life-giving communities that offer a space for deeper connections to take place throughout the whole of our church. Each group is a little different in its design with some meeting to get together and hang out and others sharing in a bible study or prayer. These activities take place primarily in people's homes or here at the church.

Journey Church exists to build a community of people that does life around the presence of God.
Our mission, our mission is to see our cities transformed by the power of the gospel for the glory of god in our generation., our unique characteristics, we are a presence driven church.
We are not built around any person or ministry. We are built around one thing, the presence of God. Through worship, prayer, and God’s Word, we lead people from corporate encounters with God to daily personal encounters with God.
We Put People First
People matter to God, so they matter to us. We prioritize relationship over ministry. We are more intentional about building people than we are programs.
We are a Diverse Church
We are a church of various cultures, backgrounds, and ages. We are all one body, called to be in unity with God and His mission.
Seek His Presence. Build His People.
TAKE GOD ENCOUNTERS AND GIVE THEM AWAY We value the urgent responsibility and privilege given to us by God — to proclaim the Gospel to all people, tribes, and nations. We evangelize by sharing the knowledge and understanding of God that we receive in our daily encounters with Him.
PRAY FIRST In every situation, whether good or bad, we pray before we act. Prayer is our first response, not our last resort.
Discipleship
NEVER STOP As disciples of Jesus, we will never stop growing in our relationship with Him. We believe Jesus’ best plan for this is discipleship. We will be disciples that make disciples.
SERVANT LEADERSHIP We believe the greatest leadership is service to others. Every leader is a servant first. From the parking lot to the pulpit, everyone serves. Every role is different, but they are all important.
REAL PEOPLE We are real, not religious people. We don’t hide behind a mask or image. We all fall short at times, and we aren’t afraid to admit our shortcomings to one another and build one another up.
Celebration
TESTIFY GOD’S GOODNESS If you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong! We make time to celebrate wins by testifying God’s goodness in our lives.
MAKE IT BETTER We represent the Lord by doing the best we can with what we have. Everything has room for improvement, and we will have an attitude of whatever it takes to make it better than yesterday.
TALK IT OUT We build the trust, character, and relationships of tomorrow by engaging in the tough conversations today.
PULSE CHECK We remain healthy by prioritizing personal encounters with God, pursuing purity, putting family first, and protecting our Sabbath so we can lead others in health.
Edification
SPEAK LIFE We see people the way God sees people. We call out destiny in others by speaking life and not death.
GIVE IT AWAY TO KEEP IT
We will be generous with pure motives, knowing God blesses the pure in heart. We give our time, treasure, and talents from a heart of compassion.
LEADERSHIP STANDARDS
Daily encounters.
We engage the Lord through daily personal encounters by welcoming the Holy Spirit, asking the Lord to speak to us, digging into God’s Word, praying the Lord’s Prayer, and listening for His response.
We honor the Sabbath and keep it holy by stewarding our time according to God’s teachings. We balance productivity with a commitment to take time away and recover in order to not risk our health, well-being, and effectiveness for the Kingdom.
We protect the unity of our church by acting in love toward other members, refusing to gossip, and submitting to leadership. We exercise forgiveness at all costs by asking for God’s forgiveness, forgiving ourselves and forgiving others. We believe there is no spiritual growth without forgiveness.
We recognize the difference between good ideas and God ideas. As we seek his wisdom, we will respond like Moses, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” We will be leaders who only go where He is leading and operate in His giftings to get there.
Stewardship
We honor what God has given us by tithing faithfully, using our resources effectively, stewarding His presence with humility, and using our time productively.

In 2014, God spoke to Pastor JJ and Pastor Liz Vasquez to plant a church that would serve their community and the city of Orlando selflessly. 2 years later on September 18, 2016, that vision became a reality when Journey Church held its first service in the auditorium of Winter Park High School.
