Proms Aboard the Skyline Princess

There are plenty of reasons to book your prom aboard a Skyline Cruise, but one of the biggest reasons are the sights you’ll see. You can hold your prom in the shadow of some of the most famous and beautiful sites in the world including the Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge and Lady Liberty. 

Many of our cruises including all of our public cruises leave from our home port located in Queens at the World’s Fair Marina and travel along the East River.  But we also offer full ship charters throughout the Metropolitan area in Manhattan, New Jersey, Westchester, Connecticut and Long Island. So you can also cruise Long Island Sound, the Hudson, or the Connecticut coast.

And The Skyline Princess is the perfect place to hold a party. Our lower decks can be used as a dining space and we can give you plenty of options from a cocktail party to a full banquet. We’ll give you choices of appetizers, entrees as well as a salad and dessert.

Our top deck, which is also called the Skyline Deck is a place where your guests can party the night away. It’s where our dance floor and DJ space are located and it can be adjusted to be open air or closed. The Skyline Princess is climate controlled and we cruise all year round.

We can work with high schools to create the perfect prom night. In fact, we can create all types of events from corporate gatherings to weddings and family celebrations. Sam and H were our captain/tour guide and they were fantastic. The scenery is spectacular. The wildlife, including seals was incredible. But the obvious highlight was seeing a pod of nine orcas frolicking in the ocean. Our captain changed up the tour so we got to spend a good 40 minutes following these magnificent creatures. Leaving from Pt Welshpool in the morning mist, the sun came out on and off and we had a varied appreciation of this spectacular coast with its sandy beaches, magnificent rocks and majestic hills. The crew was friendly and particularly well organised. WE enjoyed multiple coffees and biscuits, morning and afternoon tea. The lunch was very well presented in individual little boxes with bamboo cutlery , plentiful and tasty. It as great having a warm potato as we admired the scenery on the top deck . The 2 hours stopover in Refuge cove gave us the opportunity for a walk, Highlights were the numerous seals sunning themselves and jumping off into the sea from seal rock and the dolphins following the boat on 2 different occasions.. Our skipper Justin and our guide Sam were professional, knowledgeable, friendly and superb hosts who guided us from Norman Bay and out to South Point, the lighthouse, Skull Rock and home via glimpses of The Glennies. Along the way we were entertained and tutored about flora, fauna and animals that included Sea Eagles, Falcons, Seals and even a juvenile Humpback whale that we saw up close and personal. Morning tea, lunch, dessert and an awesome fruit platter for arvo tea. All individually served being very COVID safe. The scenery was just spectacular. Crystal clear waters and a boulders of all shapes and sizes created such a picturesque views of the Prom. The cruise went for 9 hours and other than the hour and half we were ashore, swimming in Refuge cove we were spotting seals and loads of native birds. Certainly the best way to see Wilson’s Prom. Having sailed in Europe and NZ I can honestly say this was up there with an uniquely Australian feel and experience. From the moment we stepped into the front office we felt welcomed by Tara to the boys on the boat Toby and Sam who were so caring informative and friendly. Scull rock was unique and so amazing up close, the photos don’t do it justice. Would definitely recommend and do this trip again, I feel there would be something new to see every time! The boat is really appropriate - small enough but super stable and fast when it needs to be., handled the swell really well., plenty of time to stand up when you’re at the Wright s and take pics.. up close..! The staff were very professional, knew a lot, pointed out interesting facts and locations., all with a dash of Aussie humour. The seals were a stand out.... so many seals.!!! And so happy to be around the boat.. the rules are well laid out around safety and presently health and social distancing etc., fantastic wind breaker jackets provided., all super clean and new and comfy... highly recommend this for any age. Princess Cruises Expands Caribbean Program with Return to San Juan Home Port

LAUDERDALE, Fla., (May 7, 2024)  – Princess Cruises today announced its return to San Juan, Puerto Rico for a season of Southern Caribbean cruises onboard Grand Princess, from October 2025 through March 2026. This vibrant capital city of Puerto Rico offers rich history and culture with must-see attractions for Princess guests pre- and post-cruise. These seven-day cruises, which visit more ports than any other 7-day Princess cruise to the Caribbean, are on sale May 16.

“Our return to San Juan after more than a decade not only reconnects our guests with a port rich in history and charm, but further expands the variety of departure points across North America that our guests can sail from,” said Terry Thornton, chief commercial officer for Princess Cruises. “Puerto Rico remains one of the fastest-growing destinations in the Caribbean and continues to attract new airlift from source markets across the U.S. as well as markets in Europe and South America, which makes it a great fit for Princess. Plus, there are many outstanding options to choose from for a great pre- or post-cruise stay.”

Originally scheduled to sail Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific voyages from Brisbane and Sydney, Grand Princess will now sail two alternating, seven-night itineraries, with departures from October 12, 2025 - March 29, 2026. These new itineraries each feature visits to five different and unique destinations, including many of the most highly rated Southern Caribbean destinations—many of which are not available on 7-day cruises departing from Florida.

This announcement underscores our commitment to cement San Juan as the leading homeport in the region, where guests can sail throughout the wonderful ports of the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. Packing for this cruise could be a breeze.

Bare Necessities Tour & Travel (a nudism-focused travel company) has announced an 11-day Caribbean cruise for nudists on Norwegian Pearl.

Although the cruise represents a new partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the company has chartered over 75 full-ship nude and clothing-optional cruises since 1990.

Norwegian Pearl has a maximum capacity of 2,394 guests with staterooms spread across seven decks. The ship offers 16 dining venues, 14 bars and lounges, a casino, and a spa, so guests will have ample opportunities to relax and socialize with people with shared interests.

In addition to the onboard entertainment on the ship, Bare Necessities typically hosts a passenger talent show and themed events.

The ship has a range of staterooms, including accommodations in The Haven , the ship-within-a-ship concept pioneered by NCL. Upscale amenities at this luxury enclave include 24-hour butler service, concierge services, keycard access, and a private sundeck.

Prices for the cruise, based on double occupancy, start at around $2000 per person and go up to more than $30,000 for a three-bedroom Garden Villa in The Haven.

FAQs on the Bare Necessities website explicitly states that clothing will be required while docked at port, in the main and specialty dining rooms, and during the Captain’s reception. Crew members are clothed throughout the cruise and all guests must be 21 years and older.

So, what do you pack in a carry-on for a nude cruise?

At a minimum, you’ll need lots of sunscreen, a swimsuit for excursions, and appropriate attire for the dining rooms.

The “Big Nude Boat” will set sail from Miami, Florida on February 3, 2025, and make stops at San Juan, Puerto Rico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Roseau, Domenica; Port-de-France, Martinique; and Castries, San Lucia, before returning to Miami on February 14, 2025.

The itinerary includes two stops at the line’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay, Bahama.

Nude cruise and a Taylor Swift cruise: 8 themed ships leaving Florida ports in 2024 and 2025

From swinging to Swifties, there's truly a themed cruise for everything nowadays.

Seasoned cruisers know you can take your travel up a level by boarding a themed cruise, exploring the seas with those with the same passions and interests as you.

Whether you adore the cheesy Christmas movies that come out every year or you're a hip-hop fanatic, here are some of the top-themed cruises sailing out of Florida over the next year.

Big Nude Boat

The " Big Nude Boat " cruise is an 11-day adventure set for 2025 on the Norwegian Pearl, departing from the Port of Miami on Feb. 3 and returns to the same port on Feb. 14 (just in time for Valentine's Day).

"Bare Necessities’ newest nude cruise is a private island double-dip with a brand new travel partner," the company wrote on its website .

The itinerary includes stops at the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, Dominica, Martinique and St. Lucia. Rates for an inside cabin start at $2,000 per person and go to up to $33,000 for a top room.

Guests are encouraged to park their bare behinds on towels provided on board in areas including the pool deck and the buffet area, according to the website.

"Passengers can easily follow our rule on nudist etiquette by always placing a towel down before sitting," it reads. "Remember to pack a swimsuit; not all excursions are clothing optional."

In My Cruise Era

The “ In My Cruise Era … ” is a  Taylor Swift-themed cruise  that is set to launch from Port of Miami on Oct. 21,

The cruise, on a Royal Caribbean ship, leaves for the Bahamas the day after Swift's final show of her three-day stop in Miami. According to the website, the cruise fare includes stateroom accommodations, dinner in the main dining room nightly as well as additional buffet and a la carte options around the ship. It also includes entertainment.

Halloween on the High Seas on the Disney Cruise Line

Looking for a more family-friendly option? The Disney Cruise line has you covered.

The Disney Cruise Line will offer its " Halloween on the High Seas " cruises in September and October. Patrons can choose from sailings ranging from 3-7 days, most of which travel to the Bahamas or the Caribbean islands. The Halloween-themed cruise is offered on four of the Disney cruise ships, including the Disney Magic, Disney Wish, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.

While on board the Halloween on the High Seas cruise, AAA writes guests will enjoy magical, spooktacular entertainment every day, such as:

• Meet and greets with your favorite Disney characters, all decked out in their own Halloween costumes.
• Halloween parties with Mickey, Minnie and the whole gang.
• Ghoulish menus at every meal.

Hallmark Christmas Cruise

In case Halloween isn't your preferred holiday to spend on the seas, why not pretend you're in your own made-for-TV Christmas movie?

The Hallmark Channel, holiday season film factory, will host a Christmas Cruise that will embark on a four-night sailing on Nov. 5 from Miami. According to USA Today, passengers will be able to experience holiday cheer on the high seas, complete with cookie making, “carol-oke,” photo ops with network stars, and an exclusive movie premiere of one of the famed Countdown to Christmas films.

The Christmas cruise will take place aboard the Norwegian Gem Cruise Ship, a 965-foot Jewel-class ship.

The company announced that the cruise has already sold out, sharing to USA TODAY via email last year: "Christmas cheer filled every tier, and now the first ever Hallmark Channel Christmas Cruise is SOLD OUT."

Rock the Bells Cruise

Hip Hop Hooray! The Rock the Bells Cruise: A Hip-Hop Experience is a four-day jam session founded by LL Cool J back in 2023. After seeing major success last year, the cruise is returning for 2024.

MCs, DJs, and producers will lead nonstop parties and live performances on the Norwegian Gem from Nov. 13 through 17. The cruise leaves from Miami to Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau.

Some of the acts lined up for the cruise include Busta Rhymes, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Method Man & Redman, Scarface, Kid Capri and more.

Comic-Con: The Cruise

Get ready to join the CCU (Cruise Cinematic Universe). San Diego Comic-Con and Entertainment Cruise Productions have team up for Comic-Con: The Cruise . It will run from Feb. 5 through 9 of 2025.

Sailing on Royal Caribbean's  Serenade of the Seas  from Tampa to Cozumel, participants will interact with Comic-Con icons and attend nonstop activities on board, such as cosplay events, trivia, parties and more

Star Trek - The Cruise

Live long and prosper! Trekkies can geek out with one another on best cruise experience in the galaxy, according to U.S. News .

Sailing on Royal Caribbean International's Explorer of the Seas, the Star Trek cruise will sail from Miami on Feb. 23-through March 2 of 2025. Passengers will head to Costa Maya, Cozumel and Belize.

"Each night of the cruise celebrates a different dimension of the Star Trek experience and, since the cruise's debut in 2017, guests have knocked it out of the park with show-stopping costumes," U.S. News writes.

Norwegian: Ultimate Disco Cruise

Dig out those old bell-bottom pants and practice your dance moves while you have time!

Norwegian Cruise Line Ultimate Disco Cruise leaves from Miami on Feb. 19 through 24, 2025. During this groovy cruise, you will travel aboard the Norwegian Pearl to ports of call such as Cozumel and Costa Maya. Awhile attending the hottest disco parties along the high seas.
