Definitely the trip of a life time! The Rockies are beautiful and you get to see the most amazing sites on this trip! I would highly recommend, this was my first G Adventures tour and it certainly won't be my last

The 2 week camping tour of BC and Alberta was absolutely amazing. Marco was a fantastic guide, great cook, very friendly and knowledgable. He created an atmosphere that facilitated the entire group getting along and having an enjoyable time together. I'd highly recommend the tour and Marco as guide to anyone. Thanks for a great few weeks!

Via Railway Experience|5-Day Vancouver to Rockies Railway Full Experience Tour Departure

Overall it was a very good experience. The tour is organized and the entire team were nice and helpful. The tour was great in the sense that you get to see a lot in a few days which is great. You also get explanation and details of every spot. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in discovering the Rocky Mountains. The only thing I would change is to exclude the Vancouver part, if you are going from TO I advise to go strait to Calgary and start the tour from there. We did the 5 days excursion from TO to Vancouver then to Jasper, Banff …Calgary. And we had a flight delay going to Vancouver of 2 days so arrived on the same day we had to head to Jasper and that was very exhausting. In conclusion, it’s a great tour to consider and totally worth it :)

Very well organized tour.No complaint.

7 Day Rocky Mountain Camping Adventure Tour

7 Day Rocky Mountain Camping Adventure

Overall, the experience met our expectations: the guides were wonderful, they were knowledgeable and experienced; and the hikes and views were amazing. Meals were good but some meals were vegetarian (we are meat eaters). One campsite was “camp mosquito.” Recommendation: Campsites by a lake or flowing river would be much, much more idyllic

Excellent tour. Knowledge , caring nature, attitude of the guide really pleased us. We enjoyed the trip very well.

Great Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Tour

Great Resorts of the Canadian Rockies

Our tour guide was Jennifer - and she was superb! Her love for the area, the history and the beauty of this country was always on display. Her enthusiasm was infectious, still she was able to accommodate a diverse collection of needs from our group of 42. Jennifer was a delight. Your survey has a glitch - citing the guide, even with a name, does not provide any means of submitting that information. Very frustrating as the tour guide is the most critical feature of the trip.

Really awesome! I enjoyed it immensely plus our guide Jay was so accommodating to everyone's personal wants to the tour. Also he's really versatile and knows exactly how to time everything so we're not bothered too much by the tourist rushes. It was so great. I'm so happy I went ^^

The Best of Banff and Jasper, Campingtour Tour

The Best of Banff and Jasper, Campingtour

It was a memorable experience. Just definitely not something for me, or one I would do again as I prefer more variety. It got really boring and tiring for me hiking and looking at the same thing. I’d probably add more other different activities in my itinerary and maybe take it a bit slow. I felt so rushed.

What people love about Calgary Tours

This trip was the best experience of my life so far! My CEO Melanie was so amazing, I felt so at ease and happy throughout every step of the tour. This is the perfect trip to see some of Canada. 100000/10 would recommend to everyone!

Start your journey to Jasper National Park, the biggest National Park in Canada. 【 Icefield Parkway 】 One of Canada's national treasures and most rewarding destinations. Stretching 232km (144mi) through the heart of Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site, this world-class journey offers access to a vast wilderness of pristine mountain lakes, ancient glaciers and broad sweeping valleys. (pass through) 【 Bow Lake 】 It is the headwaters of the Bow River that runs south through the city Calgary and onto the Oldman River ultimately to Hudson Bay. (stop for about 20 minutes) 【 Columbia Icefield 】 Snocoach and Skywalk (Optional) $$: Visit the Canadian Rockies and tour over the Athabasca Glacier in a giant Ice Explorer. A once in a lifetime experience. Next, enjoy a breathtaking view of the glacier from The Glacier Skywalk. (stop for about 3.5 hours) 【 Athabasca Falls 】 It is not one of the highest waterfalls, However, it is rather known for the shear amount and force of the water that flows through it from the Columbia Glacier. (stop about 30 minutes) 【Jasper Town 】 It is the heart of Jasper National Park. 2nd biggest town in the Canadian Rockies. (stop time – your own arrangement)

Jasper National Park

Today, continue your journey in the Jasper National Park. 【Maligne Lake (Optional - Lake Cruise) $$ 】 It is the largest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies. You can take an optional cruise to enjoy the scenery of the lake. (stop for about 100 minutes) 【 Maligne Canyon 】 It is carved into the Palliser Formation, a layer of limestone deposited in a shallow tropical sea by lime-secreting plankton about 365-million years ago. (stop for about 30 minutes) 【 Medicine Lake 】 During the summer, glacier melt waters flood the lake, sometimes overflowing it. In fall and winter the lake disappears, becoming a mudflat with scattered pools of water connected by a stream. Medicine Lake is one of the largest known sinking rivers in the Western Hemisphere. It is also maybe the largest inaccessible cave system anywhere in the world! (pass through) 【 Peyto Lake 】 It is a glacier-fed lake in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. During the summer, significant amounts of glacial rock flour flow into the lake, These suspended rock particles give the lake a bright, turquoise color. (stop for about 20 minutes) / (It will be replaced by Waterfowl Lake if it is closed) 【 The Crossing】 A starting point for tours on the Columbia Icefield. It is also the only place for basic services including public bathrooms, gas station and a restaurant. (stop for about 10 minutes) 【 Crowfoot Glacier】 Named after its shape when was discovered. A must-see stop with the climate change nowadays. The "Third Toe" was melted and barely visible. (stop for about 15 minutes)

‘Climate History, Climate Hope’ tour hits Royal Ontario Museum

calgary tours contact

Understanding our planet's climate history is more than just a trip down memory lane — it's essential to make sense of today's world. Professor Soren Brothers draws the throughline at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) where he often leads tours of an exhibit called “ Climate History, Climate Hope. ”

Brothers is the world’s first curator of climate change, a position created by the ROM two years ago. He called the tour Climate History, Climate Hope because he wanted to talk about the past and future in relation to where we are now. “We are doing so many things that are heading in the right direction, which gives me hope,” said Brothers.

Brothers uses various artifacts and exhibits as stopping points, showing visitors how ancient climates shape our present and future.

Get daily news from Canada's National Observer

The tour spans various galleries from the Dawn of Life and beyond, to the Dinosaur gallery, Biodiversity , Earth’s Treasures and others. At each stop, Brothers talks about specific historical aspects of climate change and solutions. “Through these galleries, we can tell really interesting stories about just why we have climate change on our planet historically, and why we are dealing with these crises today,” said Brothers. “For some people, I think that could be a useful way to give context to clarify the situation and kind of simplify things in a way.”

Solutions are just as important for people to understand as the history, he said. “The solutions are not just hypothetical situations for the future, but finding ways to talk about what we are doing and what we have done.”

The objects on display are an important part of Brothers’ exhibit, as they are in all museums. “There is something evocative in objects that connect you to time, place and actions, and part of our reality.”

Connecting past, present and future

A fossil display of Carboniferous lycophytes in the Dawn of Life gallery represents Earth's ancient climate history. These tree-like plants, thriving in swamps 350 to 400 million years ago, became today's coal reserves. By absorbing carbon dioxide, they shaped Earth's climate, leading to an ice age, said Brothers. “We still burn trees from this period as coal. This is still a major driver of climate change and one of the most important places we must look to in mitigating the crisis.”

calgary tours contact

Brothers stated that because of the swampy nature of the world back then, a significant portion of organic matter from tree-like plants ended up preserved, and is now estimated to be the source of 85 per cent of the world's coal reserves. “The rapid return of this stored carbon to the atmosphere by burning it is the primary source of today's climate crisis,” said Brothers. “The planet's environment is historically linked with life on Earth, what life forms are doing, and how they influence the climate through their relationships with the atmosphere.” The early forests from this period were key in dramatically reducing atmospheric CO2 concentrations, leading to an ice age, he added. “It has been roughly estimated that in an average year, we now burn as much coal as would’ve taken over 60,000 years of these tree-like plants to create.”

Soren Brothers is the world’s first curator of climate, a position created by the ROM two years ago. He called the exhibit Climate History, Climate Hope because he wanted to talk about the past and the future. #ClimateHistory.

Brothers emphasized the power of personal conversation over social media and said the tour intends to foster dialogue and engagement with visitors about climate change.

“I really wanted the tour to be a way to talk to people about what is happening, what a huge monumental shift in our society is underway right now. And in a way that is really exciting, not to say we are necessarily going to solve the problem but just to give people a chance at least to be on the same page, seeing that there are changes happening.”

Enoch Cree Nation welcomes Ice Cube to their territory with starblanket

Rapper says he's 'blown away' by gifts from indigenous fans.

calgary tours contact

Social Sharing

Rapper and actor Ice Cube has collected a few gifts from Indigenous people in Canada in his travels and he got another one this week at a stop on his "Straight into Canada" tour.

Eleesha Papin from Enoch Cree Nation near Edmonton presented him with a starblanket on behalf of her community during his show at their River Cree Resort Casino.

"Our people are about love and about nurturing, and about acceptance and welcoming … we need to see that more," said Papin.

The king size blanket detailed with the Raiders logo and west side hand sign was made by local artist Kayla Morgan and her mother Judy Cardinal.

Papin remembers jamming out with her family to Ice Cube's music and watching his movies at home.

Since then, her dad and brother died and she says Ice Cube's music helped her along her healing journey. She's marking four years of sobriety in May and said the rapper is a role model for her.

"Our people and his people went through the same thing and we are breaking cycles," she said.

Ice Cube talks about gifts from Indigenous fans

This week's event at River Cree Resort Casino was part of Ice Cube's second round of concerts in Canada this year. Several shows were at First Nations-owned venues.

"The fact that the casino is owned by First Nations is great," Ice Cube told CBC Indigenous.

"Some form, piece of the pie, is going where it needs to go."

In February, Tahltan beader Carmen Dennis threw a medallion she made of the rapper onto the stage at a concert in Abbotsford, B.C., and this week, he was gifted the starblanket.

  • Rapper Ice Cube wears Tahltan beader's artwork on stage

"I'm always blown away that people would spend that much time and talent to do something specifically for me," he said.

He said he thinks his music resonates with Indigenous people because it's authentic.

"I speak truth to power. I lay it on the line," he said.

"It's not just all for my benefit. Hopefully it's medicine for the hearts of a lot of people who feel the same way."

Enoch Cree Nation, Eleesha Papin, presents star blanket to the star on stage at River Cree Resort, the venue of Ice Cube's April 30th performance.

Kyle Peacock, a councillor for Enoch Cree Nation, was among those on stage welcoming Ice Cube.

Peacock said Ice Cube's music spoke to him when it first came out because it addressed discrimination and racism.

He said it helped raise awareness and was inspiration to stand up against it.

"And to think, from then to now, we've come so far," said Peacock.

An 11-day nude cruise is scheduled to set sail from Miami to the Caribbean next February — and you won’t even need an overstuffed suitcase.

Bare Necessities is partnering with Norwegian Cruise Line for the flesh-flashing event, which will see clothing-averse customers travel on board the Norwegian Pearl.

“As always, it’s our pleasure to provide you with the luxury of deciding what NOT to wear,” a message on the Bare Necessities site reads.

The 968-foot vessel, which can accommodate up to 2,300 passengers, has been renamed “The Big Nude Boat” for the journey.

The 968-foot vessel, which can accommodate up to 2,300 passengers, has been renamed "The Big Nude Boat" for the journey.

The cruise will make stops in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and St. Maarten, but customers will have to cover up if they disembark the ship to do any sightseeing.

Passengers are also subject to strict rules on board — most notably, they will be required to wear clothing while inside the vessel’s indoor dining rooms.

However, there will be a “large buffet area for nude outdoor dining.”

In order to maintain hygiene, nudists will also need to put a towel down before sitting “in the stateroom, pool deck and buffet area” if they’re baring their bottoms.

Bare Necessities also makes clear that “fondling or inappropriate touching is prohibited.”

Bare Necessities is partnering with Norwegian Cruise Line for the flesh-flashing event , which will see clothing-averse customers travel on board the Norwegian Pearl.

Prices for the nude cruise start at around $2,000, but cashed-up nudists can fork out upwards of $33,000 for a deluxe three-bedroom villa.

Bare Necessities has already chartered more than 75 nude cruises in the past, with one prior passenger speaking out about the experience in a recent Reddit post.

“Cruises seem to be for people who like to eat and lie around, so there were a lot of large people,” the 67-year-old man admitted.

Bare Necessities has already chartered more than 75 nude cruises in the past, with one prior passenger speaking out about the experience in a recent Reddit post.

“Also, most people don’t seem to be comfortable being nude in public until later in life so the crowd was older. I’d say 20% attractive, 20% average, 60% unattractive,” he added.
