A Guide to the Ancient and New Wonders of the World

From Giza to Rio de Janeiro, these sights will inspire your next historical vacation.

wonder tour world

Aristides Vieira/EyeEm/Getty Images

The world is full of wonderful sights and destinations, but there are certain ones that really strike a chord, managing to feel more remarkable than others , even if it's hard to describe why. The Wonders of the World fit this bill — they defy comprehension most of the time, leaving us asking, "How did they do this?" — and that’s precisely why they’re called the Wonders of the World.

There are many a list decrying new wonders, natural wonders, and even local wonders, but it all began with the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, a list compiled by ancient historian Herodotus and scholar Callimachus of Cyrene. The complete list of ancient wonders, Reuters explains , was lost somewhere in the sands of time, save for a few references. A new list emerged in the Middle Ages, compiled from those references and other ancient Greek writings. Many of the ancient wonders sites no longer exist.

Then, in 2000, the Switzerland-based organization New7Wonders Foundation started a campaign to create a new list of wonders. More than 100 million votes were collected in a global campaign, and the New Seven Wonders of the World were named. These include sites you likely know, like the Great Wall of China and Machu Picchu . But do you know the wonders that preceded them? We've combined both lists here, to give you a full — and wonderful — picture.

The Wonders of the Ancient and New World

Colossus of rhodes.

Historical Picture Archive/Getty Images

The Colossus of Rhodes was, as the name suggests, absolutely massive. Built by the Rhodians on the Greek Island of Rhodes between 294 to 282 BCE, the statue is said to have measured 100 feet high. According to the History Channel , it only stood for 60 years before crumbling to the ground in an earthquake, and remnants were sold as scrap metal. Historians also do not know the exact location of the Chares of Lindus-designed statue, nor precisely what it looked like, but they do know it was built in honor of the sun god Helios.

Hanging Gardens of Babylon

DE AGOSTINI PICTURE LIBRARY/Getty Images

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon remain one of history's great mysteries. Archeologists aren’t positive where it stood, though according to the ancient Greeks, it was found near the Euphrates River, in what is now modern-day Iraq. The gardens allegedly were a lush paradise, with plants dripping from walls some 75 feet high. However, as the History Channel also notes, there are no first-hand accounts of the gardens actually existing, only second-hand tales.

Statue of Zeus at Olympia

Sepia Times/Getty Images

Greek sculptor Phidias created a 40-foot statue in honor of Zeus, which sat at the Temple of Zeus in Olympia until its demise. The statue is said to have been plated with gold and ivory, and it depicted Zeus sitting on a cedarwood throne with more gold, ivory, and precious stones. The statue was lost when the temple was destroyed in 426 CE.

Temple of Artemis at Ephesus

DEA/ICAS94/Contributor/Getty Images

The Temple of Artemis, built in what is now western Turkey , would surely still stand out today as an architectural marvel. Built around 550 BCE, the temple was some 350 feet long by 180 feet wide and filled with artworks and sculptures. It was destroyed by the Goths in 262 CE and was never reconstructed. However, small fragments still exist, which can be viewed in the British Museum .

Mausoleum at Halicarnassus

The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus is another ancient giant from what is now modern-day Turkey. The tomb was built in 353 BCE by Artemisia for her husband, Mausolus, who was also her brother. Descriptions of the mausoleum say it was almost perfectly square and built with 36 columns, all topped with a 24-step pyramid. It was likely destroyed in a 13th-century earthquake. Some fragments still sit in the British Museum.

The Lighthouse of Alexandria

Apic/Getty Images

The lighthouse of Alexandria was built by Sostratus of Cnidus around 280 BCE. It was constructed on the island of Pharos, and, according to Britannica , stood an impressive 350 feet high. It was also allegedly paired with a massive statue representing either Alexander the Great or Ptolemy I Soter. The lighthouse stood until the 12th century but was later replaced by a fortress.

Great Pyramid of Giza

Nick Brundle Photography/Getty Images

The Great Pyramid of Giza is the last remaining wonder of the ancient world. It towers over the west bank of the Nile River , and it made up of more than two million stones covering 13 acres of land. How it was truly built remains a mystery, though scientists are confident that log rollers and sleds were used to move the massive stones. See it for yourself by purchasing a ticket and scheduling a visit .

The Colosseum

alexisassa/Getty Images

The Colosseum remains Rome’s top attraction. Built in the first century by Emperor Vespasian, the massive theater spans 620 by 513 feet. It would hold upwards of 50,000 people at once, crowds who came to entertainment of all kinds, including, most famously, gladiator battles. Travelers in Rome can tour what remains of the Colosseum by booking advance tickets .

The Great Wall of China

aphotostory/Getty Images

The Great Wall of China stretches on for more than 13,000 miles. It is still a hot attraction, visited by some 10 million people each year. The wall was created at the behest of Qin Shi Huang, the First Emperor of China, more than 2,000 years ago, to protect against invaders.

The Taj Mahal

Gautier Houba/Travel + Leisure

The Taj Mahal was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction began in 1632 and was completed in 1648. The property spans some 42 acres, including its ornate gardens. It remains open to visitors every day but Fridays. A glittering night tour is also bookable, if you'd prefer.

Christ the Redeemer

Christian Adams/Getty Images

Christ the Redeemer stands tall above the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro on Corcovado Mountain. The statue is ninety-eight feet tall, to be exact, and its arms stretch 92 feet wide. Construction began on the massive statue in 1922 with the help of engineer Heitor da Silva Costa and sculptor Paul Landowski. It was completed in 1931. Millions of people make the trek to see it each year. You can too, by booking your visit here .

Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is another archaeological wonder. The ancient Incan city in Peru is said to have been constructed around 1450 BCE, and could have been used for government or religious services. The ruins became world famous after explorer Hiram Bingham spotted them with the help of local indigenous people. Thanks to diligent conservation work, travelers from all over the world can still visit the ruins today, and they do so in droves. In response to demand and to preserve the experience, the local government capped the number of daily visitors . This means travelers must book tickets well in advance.

Chichén Itzá

feel4nature/Getty Images

Chichén Itzá isn’t just one building or monument, but an entire ancient Mayan city found in the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. The city was constructed around 600 BCE and became central to Mayan commerce at the time. The large pyramid structures remain a draw for tourists who want to see the sights and honor Mayan heritage. You can which you can learn more about the site by listening to episode two of Travel + Leisure’s podcast, Lost Cultures, Living Legacies .

Peter Adams/Getty Images

Petra is one more ancient city that made the list of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Located in the Kingdom of Jordan, the city was built directly into the cliffside around the 3rd century BCE by the Nabataeans, according to UNESCO . The city includes temples and tombs, along with its most well-known building, The Treasury. You can visit throughout the week, but becomes especially alive during a glamorous night tour .

Stevie Wonder, real name Stevland Hardaway Morris, is an American soul and R&B singer-songwriter from Michigan, USA. Stevie was signed to a record deal with Motown at the age of 11 and has been making music with them ever since.

Blind since birth, Stevie Wonder was passionate about music from a young age. He learnt to play multiple instruments and sang on street corners with a friend. At the age of 11, Stevie Wonder was discovered and signed by Motown label Tamla where he released several soul and jazz albums. He was successful even as a young boy and at the age of 13 became the youngest artist ever to reach the number one spot on the Billboard charts with his single “Fingertips”.

Before reaching the age of 20, Stevie Wonder had already released some of his most well known classic hits, including "For Once in My Life", "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours", “My Cherie Amour" and "Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday". Knowing how much he was worth, Stevie Wonder re-negotiated his contract with Motown after coming of age in order to obtain higher royalties and greater autonomy over his work.

In the early seventies, Stevie Wonder began touring with the Rolling Stones where his tracks “Superstition” and “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” picked up support and eventually went to the top of the US singles charts. Both songs won him multiple Grammy Awards and paved the way for greater commercial success that lasted into the late 80s. In fact, every album Stevie Wonder released from 1973 to 1986 was a top five album on the US charts, and every album since then has been a top 30 album with most being top 20.

With 30 top ten US hits and a mind-blowing 22 Grammy Awards under his belt, it goes without saying that Stevie Wonder has created a massive legacy through his music. Every one of his 23 studio albums contains material that has influenced artists across the globe. Having sold over 100 million records, the number of lives that Stevie Wonder has touched with his music is uncountable.

Live reviews

Anticipation is a killer. I’m fortunate enough to be able to attend quite a few shows every year, so it’s a rare occasion that I find myself with that awkward feeling. I live by the theory that going to a show is a perfect way to pass the time while you’re waiting to go to the next show. Sometimes there are events that are impossible not to anticipate though. They can be big events or small events, but for one reason or another, they are special. Last night was one of those big events…a living legend performing his classic masterpiece in its entirety. I can’t claim to have been directly affected by Songs in the Key of Life when it was released upon the world in 1976 (I was in the womb), but I do understand its significance as one of the most important albums in modern music. I can’t claim to be a diehard Stevie Wonder fan either, but I understand the overwhelming sphere of influence he has on artists across all genres of modern music. The man’s life story is almost as incredible as his life’s work. He overcame immense obstacles and impossible odds to achieve his status as a giant among peers. It was for those reasons that I couldn’t contain my anticipation. Seeing Stevie Wonder perform Songs in the Key of Life, an album I’ve had on constant rotation since the show was announced (on my dad’s original vinyl with the extra 7”), was going to be more than just a bucket list concert…I was sure it was going to be nothing less than magic.

Anticipation can cause expectations that fly so high that not even the voice of an angel can reach their heights. Anticipation can make a great performance seem only good in comparison to those unreasonable expectations. So it was that I found myself immediately disappointed last night. I was accosted by security for having a camera, even though it didn’t say anything about ‘no cameras’ on the website or emails about the show. I had to trek across the whole venue to ‘check’ the camera before finding my way to the seats. It was because of this that I missed Stevie’s opening speech, but I was able to catch the tail end when he asked the crowd to film and share the performance. Hundreds of phones went in the air, making me seriously question why my camera wasn’t aloud. I guess only shitty photos and videos were allowed? We were on the floor, but in assigned seating. No one was sitting down, but even in an upright position, there was barely room to move because the rows were positioned on top of each other. Somehow, in my vision of the evening, I completely forgot I was going to be in the Pepsi Center.

Despite my frustration with my surroundings, I couldn’t help but be amazed at how good everything sounded. Stevie was surrounded by a rotating circus of musicians and backup singers, as well as a full string section. At one point I think there were over 40 people on the stage. His voice was ageless as he kicked of Songs with “Love’s in Need of Love Today”, “Have a Talk With God” and “Village Ghetto Land”. I know they are completely different albums, but I couldn’t help but think of Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly and how Songs in the Key of Life might have been polarizing in its time as well. “Contusion” followed, as it does on the album, and that’s when I realized the performance was going to include quite a few jam interludes. I am not a fan of the jam, so once again I found myself staring up at the ceiling, cursing my lofty expectations as they danced along with those in the nosebleeds.

It wasn’t until “Sir Duke” that I really got my groove. Notice I say “my groove”. Everyone else (on stage and off) were in lockstep from the beginning. It just took me a bit to come around. From that point on, it was smooth sailing through the first half of the album. After the closer, “Ordinary Love”, Aisha (his daughter) led the female backup singers through a selection, before they closed out the first half with two tracks from the bonus 7” that came with the original LP. We were an hour and a half into the show, but things were just getting started.

Aisha assisted her father back on stage for the second half, and after a quick speech about gun control (which divided the Denver crowd), he sat down at the piano to sing that song he wrote for her when she was born. “Isn’t She Lovely” is my favorite song on the album and he nailed it. The second half started out as a true representation of the album, but then it took a few twists and turns. After “Black Man”, he took us back to the 7” for the remaining bonus tracks, before bringing the beautifully talented Jasmin Cruz to his side for “Ngiculela – Es Una Historia – I Am Singing”. This turned into another jam that almost went off the rails, but was brought back home with a partial cover of Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel”. A little MJ was just what some people needed to get their second wind as the night got later.

Before I give offense to anyone on that stage, I want to stress how the horns, the strings, the percussion and the backup singers made for an incredible kaleidoscope of sound, in which no single part was any less important than the other, but I have to say that my favorite song of the whole night didn’t include any of them. “If It’s Magic” was performed by Stevie and the ghost of Dorothy Ashby. Stevie stood alone on that stage, while the album track of Dorothy’s harp played in the background. Her photo was on the big screens as he sang the song over her gorgeous strings. It was a touching part of the evening and it also showcased how perfect his voice still is. It was worth the price of admission alone.

Dorothy Ashby died of cancer, but another Songs collaborator was alive and well. This collaborator also happened to be in town performing a show with Chick Corea at Boettcher Concert Hall. So it was that Herbie Hanock and Mr. Corea came out to jam on “As” and “Watermelon Man”. Once again, I am not a jam fan, but I’d have to be an idiot to complain about seeing those three on a stage together. The crowd went absolutely crazy!

After having fun with a couple of his friends, Stevie closed out the album with “Another Day”. We were three and a half hours into the night, but he still took the time to introduce every single person on the stage during that song. I have to admit that I was getting pretty tired at that point, but if Stevie Wonder still had it in him to keep going, who was I to complain?

The night ended with Stevie playing DJ. More specifically, he became DJ Chick Chick BOOM! He played the role right. “What’s my name?!!!” He demanded the crowd put the BOOM on it! He assured us “he aint’ playin’”, although he very much was. After messing around with a mixing board for a bit, we were treated to “Living for the City” and “Uptight (Everything’s Alright)”. Then he brought out the big guns. Closing the performance with “Superstition” was perfection. It was 11:45pm on a Tuesday night and the house was still packed. Everyone was on their feet…

“When you believe in things that you don’t understand, then you suffer, Superstition ain’t the way, no, no, no”

Stevie Wonder overcame immense obstacles and impossible odds to be standing on the stage at Pepsi Center last night, almost as if he were a magician, and throughout the concert he proved he hadn’t lost of bit of that spark in his 64 years on this earth. He professed nothing but love for everyone in attendance, over and over again, and he received nothing but love back. Anticipation and jam sessions that went on too long for this anti-jam guy could have killed it for me, but Stevie wouldn’t let that happen. He put on the performance of a lifetime and it truly was nothing less than magic.

There are three words to describe Stevie Wonder’s performance at the 2014 Calling Festival. Not enough time. The Wanderers out there will know that there was simply not enough stage time to do the 64 year old musical legend justice. That being said, he put on an amazing performance, using the warmth of his personality to engage the crowd.

No coincidence that the day’s rain cleared just as the 22-time Grammy winner took to the stage. He was welcomed with a roar of applause as he opened his set with a Marvin Gaye cover of "How Sweet It Is." Other performed tracks include "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," "I Just Called to Say I Love You" and my personal favourite, "Living for the City." The setlist served as a reminder for long forgotten hits. Vibrant sounds left the instruments painting the atmosphere with colour. It was hard to ignore the energy released every time a note was sung. It was also evident Stevie Wonder was having a great time which encouraged the crowd to participate even more in this memorable occasion. The set ended with the wonderful feel good classic "Superstition" which had the audience of various ages singing along. If you have never witnessed Stevie Wonder live be sure to check him out. Then you will truly understand why this performance was so enjoyable.

I first saw Stevie Wonder back in 2010 at the Glastonbury festival, he came on stage singing

' My Eyes Don't Cry' - well I can tell you mine did!! It had been a long time coming to see the genius artist as my mother 'god rest her soul' brought me up on his soulful music. He danced and played his instruments as wellas any musician with their eyesight in tact... By the time he sang ' Living For The City the Glastonbury audience were singing and dancing along, as was I ( still crying though, with joy I might add...) He covered Michael Jacksons ' Human Nature' as we know MJ would appreciate and my fave 'Superstition' was just wow.. We had to leave the festival just before he closed his set, but from the fields back to the car we could hear him and our God 'Michael Eavis' singing Happy Birthday to celebrate Glastonbury's 40th Birthday... Long live Stevie Wonder and please if ever you get the chance to see the legend, do... You won't regret it....! Shabba...!

Let me start by saying I have nothing but love for Stevie, and have been a fan since I was a kid. This show was a bit of a letdown though. The show had so much 'filler' time, sing alongs with audience, background singer solos, and speeches by Stevie, that many people left during the break. He performed a medley of several hits at the very end, which was the best part, but I would have liked to hear these songs in their entirety and throughout the show. I had the opportunity to see his show many years ago in Lake Tahoe, and that show featured so many of his hit songs, the audience couldn't sit still. While this concert was long, and I can appreciate that Stevie still works hard and sounds great, it was a bit boring. Stevie has so many great songs- play the hits, don't bore us with filler time.

I originally thought, "Oh no. Not another old school type." when I first heard of Stevie Wonder. Boy was I wrong. I saw him perform in the fall of 2013 at the Global Citizens Festival and I have been in love with his music since then. His voice is amazing. Loved every second he was on stage and immediately went to hear his other songs once I got home. I have not been able to stop listening to his music. What is even more incredible is he gets so into his music, and he can play the piano and harmonica while being blind. Its easy to forget that he is blind because it doesn't seem to bother him. You can always expect great music when listening to Stevie Wonder, and an even greater performance when seeing him live.

If he had been born in a desolated cave, talent scouts would still have found Little Stevie Wonder, because word of his happy-making, virtuosic singing and songwriting would have traveled fast and far, even before the Internet. india.arie sang in her tribute to him, "You are the sunshine of my life, and are the Shakespeare of your time..." Laughter on the track, singing about rhythm itself -- he's pure joy; equally, a song about heartbreak will wreck you. Sometimes I like to just listen to the tracks where he only plays harmonica.

I saw Stevie Wonder at the 'Calling Festival' Clapham Common, and he was without a doubt the best gig I have been to. He was laughing and joking with the crowd , taking the mickey out of himself and there was a real buzz with the crowd, cant wait for you to come back to UK with yer fake south east london accent stevie, you are awesome. Some of my musician mates were desperately trying to get the other ticket off me, unfortunately I took the ex-wife.

Awesome concert. Awesome music. Awesome artist. The 8th Wonder of the world! Some emotional moments and moments of that sometimes subtle Stevie Wonder music. "Remember writing this song on a cloudy Monday". Words written 40 years ago so appropriate today "Love's In Need Of Love Today" "Have A Talk With God" "Village Ghetto Land". And the music of this genius continues to be sampled. Hearing it in its original form just 'Knocks you off your feet'!!

The concert was amazing ! It started about 30 minutes late, but the arena was slow at filling up. But the delay did not deter the enjoyment that followed. Stevie covered all the songs of the 2 album set, along with sidebars of humorous entertainment. Rather than the usual clapping for an encore, Stevie asked if we wanted to go home, and of course, we shouted a resounding NO. So we partied until midnight with some his famous toe stomping hits.

If there was one thing that was made perfectly clear at the Miley Cyrus Wonder World Contert Tour debut in Portland, it’s that Hannah Montana is no more. Miley has clearly hit a turning point in her life and career where she’s stopped being a child actress performer and is starting to explore her blossoming adulthood. It’s that transition when a teenager slams their door and instead of hearing Avril Lavigne emanating from the room, you hear Led Zeppelin. This period of time is exciting, wonderful, awful, painful and confusing, which in many ways is captured in the immense spectacle that is Miley’s concert tour.

Changing costumes with almost every number, Miley seemed to be trying on dozens of different looks, perhaps to see which best reflected herself. Musically this frenetic change of styles was also apparent. The show bounced around from rock to pop to ballad and then into songs which seemed to blend all those styles into one. It’s entertaining to watch but you get the real sense that Miley isn’t quite sure who exactly she’s becoming.

Miley was very clear about who she isn’t. In the hour and a half set, Miley barely touched any of the songs which made her a success, only flirting with the Hannah Montana library with a very sexed-up version of Girls Night Out and a nice rendition of The Climb. She seemed to steer very far away from her signature Hannah Montana theme song, something I think really disappointed the rather young audience.

There’s no denying that the Miley Cyrus concert tour is a grand spectacle. Each song seemed to be accompanied by some sort of massive set piece and with ten dancers and constant and elaborate choreography; the show was a constant feast for the eyes. Miley Cyrus deserves a tremendous amount of credit for this accomplishment. The complexity of the staging and the sheer amount of choreography (not to mention the constant costume changes) would be a huge challenge even for the most seasoned of performers. Miley Cyrus tackles this aspect of her show masterfully and should be commended for it. Unfortunately, musically she didn’t match the grand spectacle. It’s not that Miley is a poor performer – when she hits the mark, she’s got a solid voice, great stage presence and wonderful connection with the audience. I just don’t think the bulk of her material is all that great. There are some real stand-outs among her work including her new hit Party in the USA , The Climb (the theme song from The Hannah Montana Movie) and When I Look at You (which is the theme from her upcoming 2010 film, The Last Song ). The rest of the songs she performed never really break out and tended to fall a little on the dull side.

Miley Cyrus put to rest any question that she can rock, with a fantastic cover of Joan Jett And The Blackhearts ‘I Love Rock N’ Roll’ which she sang while riding a motor cycle that was lifted up over the audience and flown through the air. It was frustrating to hear that she does have the talent, even to rock, but not the real material to back that up. Another frustrating moment came during a transition between numbers where Miley and the dancers teased with a short bit of the Thriller dance; I would have loved to see her cover Michael Jackson, but the number was only a quick tease and Miley did not sing.

Throughout the 90 minute show, Miley changed her costumes a dizzying 10 times. Most of the costumes were skin tight and accentuated her breasts. This sexually forward side to Miley might have been a bit of a shock to the parents of the younger kids in the audience who came to see ‘Hannah Montana’. My daughter, who is 10, even commented on how much Miley showed off the fact that she’s got breasts (it was that noticeable). Despite this obvious display of her blossoming sexuality, Miley kept her show fairly tame. Rather than shock or put off her audience in some sort of rebellion, she simply declared her womanhood and burgeoning sexuality.

Miley Cyrus on Tour catches a young artist at a real intersection in her career. There seems to be a dynamic performer emerging from the bubblegum pop child star she once was. Hopefully after this tour she’ll be able to have some real time to work with a producer and song writers who can see her talent and bring out the best of it, because without a solid foundation of music under her, all the spectacle in the world won’t be enough to ignite her career and carry her beyond Hannah Montana.

Haha, so you think “The Climb” is one of her best work? That song just doesn’t it her voice, she sounds like a cat who has a cold while singing that song. I don’t hate Miley, but she shouldn’t have been given “The Climb” (which is a horrible song, by the way).

No, I don’t think The Climb is her best work, but at the concert is was one of the better songs she performed. Many of the other songs weren’t even close in terms of the level of that song, which I thought was OK.

WOW! Miley can rock! I am a 34 yo mother and I am eager to check out Miley’s show! She is getting better and better. Amazing!

I thought the concert was great. So big deal she showed some cleavage. She’s a 17 year old girl that’s what they do. She could be doing alot worse. I thought the show was a let down to the younger fans who don’t get that she isn’t Hannah Montana anymore. My daughter and her BFF were sad that she didn’t sing some Hananh songs but loved the show. I thought it had as much bang for the buck as some of the other “big” name shows I have seen. I thought it was great that she was singing instead of entertaining as Britney does. No lipsyncing. I wish Miley a long and sucessful career.

im going to see her in december, cant wait! To be honest it did say it was a “miley cyrus tour” not “hannah montana”. She was ment to do songs from her breakout album but now shes done more songs since then so done a mixture. What did you expect shes 16 going on 17 she can wear what she likes. parents should expect that she wasnt going to be all cute and sweet like hannah montana cause this tour was about MILEY CYRUS not hannah montana. Shes not 13 anymore, she almost an adult. Theres some younger kids that wear alot worse than that. Mileys more mature than most kids are today

Good review, but no mention of Metro Station – any good?

Miley’s audience has a bedtime – I see you note she gives a ninety minute show – how much time does her bro’s band add to the show – if it starts at 7, what time are we getting out of there?

Metro Station was HORRIBLE. My daughter called the lead singer (Miley’s Older Brother) “Old, Tired and Creepy”.

Show started at 7, Miley went on at 8, ended just before 9:30

This concert is entitled “Miley Cryus”, not “Hannah Montana”. There was a show a few years back you should have gone to that if that’s what you were looking for. Metro Station can come off a bit loud and “creepy-looking” but they do have some good music. Miley recently stated on her CNN interview that the show is intended more for kids her age, an audience that can relate to the songs she sings and appreciate the opening act as well. “The Climb”, “Party in the USA”, and “When I look at you” are all great examples of Miley’s talented young career. She is only 16, and the world expects so much from her. For the younger crowd though, she does include “Hoedown Throwdown” and “Let’s Get Crazy” which are two of her popular Hannah Montana songs from the hit movie.

What kind of souvenirs were sold at the concert (what items, and approximately how much were they)???

OKAY, WHOEVER SAID METRO STATION WAS HORRIBLE is completley wrong. they’re amazing, &&& the reason im going to see her with them on november 4th.

That would be me. I can appreciate you may like them, but live they were not good.

I heard that Metro Station starts at 7 pm and plays for thirty minutes. Then there is a thirty minute intermission, so Miley goes on at 8 PM if she’s on time. It’ll be over around 9:30.–Kristin We’re going on Friday in Oalkand, CA

Just saw her at Tacoma Dome last night. I have to say I was definitely impressed with the different sets, costumes (yes, some costumes didn’t have much to them at all), and the music. My 6 year old daughter LOVED it! I agree with Geoff that Metro Station was really bad. Too loud, and the lead singer is covered in tatoos and very creepy looking. The only reason they’re on tour with Miley is because they’re related, otherwise they’d be relegated to small, dark, smoke filled no-name venues….which is really where they should be. Skip Metro Station and go for Miley….you’ll have a great time!

Just saw her at Tacoma Dome, she has GOT to learn how to do more than toss her hair around on stage and she needs better music to sing, the material just doesn’t do her justice. Nice sets, costuming, choreography, etc, and if you could get her to stop flinging her hair constantly and give her better songs to sing (and LOSE that Metro Station opening act altogether, what a bad way to start the evening!) it could be a winner tour.

AND – I agree with Geoff, totally nailed it.

Was the whole ticketless entry a pain – or did it flow pretty smoothly?

We took our 2 10 year olds to the Portland opening concert. The kids loved the concert but didn’t see much of what they expected. I have to say that the sexed-up Miley is too advanced for little girls now. And the hair tossing got a little old, but it is fun to see her coming into her own as a performer. Too many costume changes, and not enough variety in the music. Overall, I’d say it was fun, but it was sad to see so many hundreds of little girls- ages 5-10 that were not expecting the constant barrage of rock and tight clothes, tattoos and prevocative dance. Oh well.

PS: The expense of a concert like this was amazing. The programs were $20 each!

Miley Cyrus betrayed the trust of many parents who brought their young girls there looking for good clean entertainment. Shame on you Miley!

What kind of shirt designs did they have?

Three different designs on black, and one on white. In Tacoma, they had some leftover t-shirts from her last tour. I had not realized Portland’s arena layout is not very merch friendly. AEG sold tons in Portland, but it was nothing like Tacoma where the line for the main merch area was 20 deep for 2 solid hours and 15 deep while Metro Station was playing. Plus they opened up an auxiliary site indoors that had a long line from 3pm on. They had satellite sites upstairs that were selling pretty well too. The Jonas brother’s merch sold well, but was not in the same league or neighborhood as Miley’s.

To clear up some misconceptions. The tour name changed a few times, I think, because they didn’t want to call it the “No more Hannah Montana” Tour. That was the plan for some time. That’s why the BOBW Tour was such a big deal. Kid’s knew, on some level, that it was a once in a lifetime event. Only two songs were Hannah Montan songs: “Let’s get crazy” and “Spotlight.” The rest were Miley Cyrus or Miley Stewart songs: Miley songs.

This tour is also a once in a lifetime event. I have spent frustrating hours trying to convince people that Miley is, at heart, a rocker. Listen to her interviews; look at her family. Her next tour will probably be all rock with a few ballads.

We fans like it when she throws her hair around; she even did it in slow motion in her movie.

So much of her material is autobiographical that it has special meaning to her fans that non-fans won’t get. When she sang obsessed, I would have thrown a Nick Jonas T-shirt up on stage if I had one. Even the fun song, “Party in the USA” is about her experiences.

There isn’t the space here to explain why I’m such a fan, but her career is still building and getting bigger. Her music is charting higher, faster; her movies gain bigger and bigger audiences. Miley Rocks!!!

P.S. Check out her singing “Party in the USA” on the VH1 Divas sight. Fun, Fun, Fun. Also, her duet with Sheryl Crow was fantastic. Miley can do Pop, Rock, Ballads, and Country, but apparantly thinks she needs The Black Eyed Peas frontman’s street cred to do break dancing.

P.S. If Miley could have found a break in her schedule in 2008, we might have heard more Hannah Montana songs, but too late now. You can’t make her un-grow up. Most kids and fans I know are accepting of this. It’s some parents who have the unrealistic expectations. I’m going to miss Hannah Montana too, but how cruel would it be to make her put back on the wig?

I bought tickets for my 5 year old daughter and her best friend to go see this concert in Charlotte on Nov. 24th! and I must say that I am definetly a little bit nervous about what the concert. These girls don’t really know “Miley Cyrus” they know “Miley Cyrus is Hannah Montana.” Since you have been to the concert do you think that it is appropiate for their age?

Went to the concert in Tacoma..WOW…not at ALL what we had hoped for! I was SO embarressed….The disappointment I felt was shared by THOUSANDS in the arena! To say she is a “rocker” or just growing up is a huge cop out! She looked and acted sleazy & slutty. Miley seemed to forget that the arena was filled the same LITTLE girls that put her on top in the first place. NOT the role model she SHOULD have been to them for sure. We have seen the Jonas Bros. & Demi Lovato this summer & THOROUGHLY enjoyed their concerts…great wholesome entertainment that showcased their immense talent. Demi sang some amazing rock songs & didn’t feel the need to look or dance like she was Vegas pole dancer. WHERE is her momma & daddy?? I am shocked they gave their stamp of approval on this tour! If you follow Miley on twitter ( as my kids do) you would agree she is sending a VERY mixed message with her behavior on this tour. She sends out messages about that days bible reading & then acts like THAT on stage??? I’m confused…as were thousands of other people!! If you haven’t yet purchased tickets to an upcoming concert..DON’T! I didn’t go expecting Hannah Montana..I DID expect to see a decent talented young lady wearing fashionable & appropriate attire though!

@Dad of a 7 year old It was embarressing! I couldn’t agree more! DOUBLE shame on you Miley!

@Mike Johnson

@Mike Johnson The hair flinging was out of control~~~~

I took my seven year old daughter to the concert in Tacoma. She was not disappointed one bit that Miley didn’t sing any of her old stuff!

I completely disagree with the above article. I think she really showed who she is and who she is becoming during this concert. She is growing into a woman and is extremely talented. I have been to many concerts and this was one of the best I have ever seen. Period.

Are you serious? What did you expect from a 16 almost 17 year old? Unbelievable how judgemental you are. The tattoo comment…pretty rediculous too.

@Mom of a 10 year old

@Kristin Dickerson

I went to the show on Sept 18 in Oakland,CA and it was awesome. I’ll blog about my night later on but for now, here’s the song list in order (subject to change since Miley can do that if she wants to!)

1) Breakout 2) Start All Over 3) 7 Things 4) Kicking and Screaming 5) Bottom of the Oceam 6) Fly on the Wall (Something awesome happens!) 7) Let’s Get Crazy 8) Hoedown Throwdown 9) These Four Walls 10) When I Look at You 11) Obsessed 12) Spotlight 13) GNO 14) I Love Rock & Roll 15) Party in the USA 16) Wake Up America 17) Simp-le Song 18) See You Again 19) The Climb

Good show but too many slow songs and only Hannah songs! TISNF! My grade B+

Let me know if these are the right songs for her show.-RP

You sure couldn’t tell any of the kids were disappointed by the decible level in the arena, or the smiles, or the patience while waiting in line to buy souvenir t-shirts. This was a great kids party!

To Mom in Charlotte, You could call the venue for the time, but Miley will probably start at eight o’clock. Your child should save her energy for Miley’s part of the show because she does a lot of cool stuff your kid will want to be awake and alert to see. Trace’s part of the show is more geared to teenagers etc. and children that young won’t know who he is anyway.

That Miley said before then? Miley Cyrus Hannah Montana afraid of giving up the identity of this screen idols would result in fans did not like her.

Miley cyrus: “last no longer withstand the Hannah Montana wig and playing a role. If there is no one knows if, when the Hannah Montana might be a bit better; I know to start their own when a true Maili very difficult, certainly encountered a lot of setbacks. but it does not matter, at least I write these songs is very important to me and I also mentioned that I would like to express their hearts the words. “

If you are thinking she will be more like the Miley in her recent movie or as seen on Disney Channel ( shows & commercials) then you WON’T see THAT Miley at ALL! I am serious…I heard thousands of parents & kids expressing their disappointment as they left the arena on the way to the parking lot…Your 5 year old will be seriously disappointed. Watch some of the youtube videos of the concert…you can then decide for yourself. @Mom in Charlotte, NC

@Kathy the whole ticketless thing was a non issue. Oddly enough it wasn’t really noteworthy. The only thing I think that was negative about it was that even though they cut out scalpers they still kept ticket prices (even for the highest up seats) way too expensive.

@Mom in Charlotte, NC I don’t think there’s really anything explicit in the concert, Miley is just dressed very ‘sexy’. I agree with @Count123 and skip the opening band. They were just awful, also coming at 7:30/45 you’ll miss some of the lines.

I’d just prep the kids and tell them that Hannah Montanah’s growing up and singing new songs as Miley Cyrus. So they don’t expect to see HM. It’s a spectacular visual show so I’m sure they’ll enjoy the spectacle.

Miley shouldn’t spread her legs so much. On stage or off stage. She’s getting a bit full of herself.

OKay, I think some of you are becoming shocked with Miley too much. I think all of you parents are in shock of her performance and clothing because it seems like you don’t have a teenager and that you spend too much time with your young child.

Teenagers these days do that stuff. They dress, act and dance similar to Miley! Just be grateful that she doesn’t cuss in public. She is just a 16 yr old and is still growing up. Let her learn from her mistakes because she is not an adult yet.

I am 17 yrs old and sometimes i am not shocked what she does because they are similar to what i do and wear, but i am learning from my mistakes.

Parents, she is also showing the real her out to the world. I bet that not alot of you parents are calm and relaxed all the time just because you have kids. I bet that inside, you guys are crazy, fun, flirty, etc. Just let Miley grow up and get used to it. In a couple of years, if she doesn’t change who she is, then say what you want to say, but now, is not the right time. Also tell your kids that she is being herself, but don’t do everything she does and follow what you want to do, but with limitations.

Thats all i wanted to say! Also does anyone know the designs on the shirts?

I think Miley is a fan of Miley has two kinds of identity should be so this is her features. Miley the attractions is her two identities every star has its own characteristics. So Miley can there be so many fans like her fans would like to see the identity of Hannah Montana Miley discarded do? While Miley needs to grow but he has to maintain the identity of Hannah Montana Did not that much better? Miley should also think about how her fans are come. While some people like to just Miley, but she is more than half have two kinds of people are seeking the identity of her! ~

how much are t-shirts at her concert?

From memory: t-shirts $30 (one $35) poster $10 keychain $8 bag ? program $20 light $10

News from San Jose California: After the concert there were hundreds of fans waiting outside where she leaves to see her go. They put her in a van and took her by the crowd (to her hotel? once around the park?) so the crowd would disperse. I know it would be a security risk, but if people knew what hotel she was staying in, the route might have been lined from the venue all the way to the hotel with Miley fans! Awesome!!!

@Dad of a 7 year old I have to say…I took my 9 year old for her birthday. Miley and her dancing is way too much. I get that she doesn’t want to be a “kid” anymore, but really? Some of the dance moves that she does on stage is short of dry humping the floor. At other times her dancing with her microphone stand and other movements is completely inappropriate. If she was my kid, she’d be grounded! Moves like she performed on stage was crude and disgusting and she doesn’t need to do these things to prove she’s “blossoming into an adult”. What kind of an adult does she want to be? She’s one step away from pole dancing…oh, oops she’s already don’t that! She needs a good spanking, if you ask me, and someone should have set boundaries on her a long time ago. She has turned the corner of being a good role model into being something I don’t want my daughter to look up to – she looked more like a stripper dancing around the stage than a respectable performer. It was embarrassing and she should be ashamed of herself. She really does owe her fans an apology, and she needs to maybe do some soul searching and figure out if she really wants to be this person she’s turning into because it’s ugly.

Wow – didn’t all of you notice that this tour is entitled “Miley Cyrus” – not HM?? You are complaining about Miley’s clothes and all this – when you knew from the get go that it is a Miley concert – not HM. I am also guessing that this is not the first time you’ve seen her lately…she has done quite a few performances before this concert where her clothes had the same style (as well as her dancing) – as the ones she performed the concert in. Bottom line is that Miley is 16 – not 3, not 5, not 8 – 16! You cannot expect her to dress and act like a little girl forever. Just like your kids – she has to grow up..and when did it become a bad thing to show leg? It’s not like her butt or boobs were hanging out or anything.

I took my 8 year old daughter to the Oakland CA show – and we loved it! Metro Station was awesome! And they don’t look creepy – they are a rock band – who were you expecting? The Wiggles? Come on people – lighten up.

We will definitely be going to see her when she comes back to NorCal.

she didn’t do a full cover of michael jackson because she knows mj fans will bash her for it. She did a good 30-sec thriller dance tribute and it was great

O.K. I was a little bit clueless. Being a HUGE Miley Cyrus fan there is a short circuit in my brain somewhere that doesn’t always let me hear what people, who are trying to be objective, are saying. I was at Miley’s San Jose concert and I totally noticed what Geoff Kleinman was saying about her younger fans wanting Hannah Montana songs(let’s leave the parents out of this so they can lie down and rest.) The crowd, while good, was noticebly quieter and less enthusiastic than Portland or Tacoma. It wasn’t until her encore, in which she sang See You Again, and The Climb that the crowd seemed like they might blow the roof off the arena. The singing for The Climb was so loud that we almost drowned out Miley! Geoff has a point, but the effect will be sometimes more, and sometimes less noticeable, depending on the city. My time with Miley’s tour is over for this year, but I’m sure that Los Angeles, HER ADOPTED HOMETOWN, is going to ROCK!!!

P.S In Miley’s interview with Portland’s radio station Z100, she confirms what I was saying about her ultimate destination as a rocker. But with her success in Pop, Country, Dance Music, Ballads, and next Rock, I’m sure she will keep her hand in many genres.

@An older fan John

Thanks for your words. Great to hear the perspective from some of the other tour stops.

DanielleCali: I totally agree with you. Miley is just a teenager and she can’t stay a little kid forever! I think that parents are overreacting because they can’t or haven’t experienced raising a teenager. I am 17 and i am just like her. I may dress like that sometimes and sometimes dance like that.

Also don’t parents know thats how teenagers dance?! They need to shut their mouths, tell their kids not to dance like that or whatever and let her grow up! Basically, their kids will dance like that in the future!!

Parent/ Grown ups- Let Miley grow up and do what she does! She is still growing andits her life. You can’t stop us teenagers from doing what we like to do and how we act. Its just life!

I am 17 yrs old, a Miley Fan and love her no matter what she does!

i love miley!!she roxx..i love all her songs..and the wonder world concert was sooooooo the bomb!!!awesome!!!!

Wow! Over at 9:30? That’s weird. I went to a Jonas Brothers concert over the summer and it was over at 11:00pm. I don’t know if I’d like this show…a little too over the top for me. I’m sure it was entertaining but she just doesn’t put on the type of show i’d like to see and spend money on.

@VERY disappointed mom.. She can’t help her self because the music makes her lose control, have you ever danced or sang and you would do crazy stuff? All singers do something while they sing like jessica simpson who always moves her hand back and forth, get over it!

Very thankful for the review. I’m taking my 7 year old and have been really worried since her MTV pole dancing debut. Bought the tickets to her concert before I realized she was transitioning from Hannah to Miley. I have feared the “breaking out” and how the wardrobe would be. UGH. I appreciate knowing in advance, we’ll be discussing that before the concert!!!!

Do you know if the public was allowed to bring in digital cameras?

There were TONS of people taking photos and videos with their phones. Don’t know about actual cameras.

@Erin The Jonas Brothers ended later because they showcased three opening performers/acts and took what I thought was too long of an intermission to get the stage ready. It was at least an hour. Luckily, text messages that showed up on the screens, and cheering for them, kept the crowd busy. Miley limited her brother to 1/2 hour and spent 1/2 hour preping the stage. The choreography of clearing and preping her stage was just that. She had 20 people out there all working together (at it’s peak, I counted them.) I think Miley’s set was actually longer than the J.B.’s. If you’re not a Miley fan, you might say it only SEEMED longer, but why would the J.B.’s set seem shorter, especially since I’m not a big fan? I only went to check out the J.B’s because Miley likes Nick. They’re pretty good, but like Nirvana, they don’t enunciate. This wasn’t a problem for the songs I knew though. No offence to the J.B.’s, Trace Cyrus doesn’t exactly enunciate all the time either. I love Miley! I like trace. I like the J.B.’s. How do you constuctively criticize someone you like? Miley’s ALWAYS perfect even if she’s hoarse, or sick, or anything. She could just show up and I’d be happy!!!

There are signs saying ‘no camera’s’ all over venues, but once you get in, they don’t care as long as you’re even halfway discreet. If your camera is huge and bulky you might have an issue, but if it fits in your hand, you’re cool. The people sitting next to me had a camera. Ton’s of people came closer to the stage in Tacoma, just to get a picture. Security will discourage this once Miley starts though. Enjoy her concert!

@Lisa About the dancing and all that – a good example would be Michael Jackson..he constantly grabs his crotch while dancing..and Elvis girating his hips when on stage..yet I bet you every single parent who has complained about Miley’s dance moves..is a fan of one of them..oh but that’s ok right?

@Meckenzie I know at the Oakland Arena – you could bring in camera’s..but they cannot be professional ones..which basically means the lense has to be shorter than 3 inches, and they cannot be video recorders.

I have tickets for November 8th in NJ but what I’m hearing about the show is now making me nervous! Can anyone tell me if this show is inappropriate for the young girls who made her famous? My daughter is 7 and absolutely loves Hannah/Miley and I can tell you that she’s expecting to see the performer she idolizes and not some rocked out performance. I understand Miley wants gto find her place but she has to know that Hannah made her famous and that’s who these kids are expecting or at least a close 2nd. I saw her on the Today show and she was screaching so much it reminded me of an 80’s rock concert. Does shje sing the songs the kids like or did I waste my money on tickets for a show that will shatter my daughters expectations? This will be her 1st concert.

Mary I don’t think there’s anything in the show that’s offensive, but Miley does express her burgeoning sexuality in a way that may make some uncomfortable. I’d HIGHLY recommend that you play some of Miley’s newer songs for your daughter so she is familiar with them. It’s also a good opportunity to talk to your daughter about that fact that Miley is growing up and that means she’s going through changes. Set her expectations that there won’t be any Hannah Montana songs, but that Miley will have a very fun show with LOTS of lights, scene changes and costumes. The show is an amazing spectacle and it’s worth seeing, I think she’ll be a lot happier if she’s properly prepared.

Oh and don’t bother with the opening band, they are beyond awful.

I disagree with you because she is ONLY famous because of her role as Hannah Montana and obviously her fan base is built on the “character” of Hannah. It’s sad that there are barely any “Hollywood” rollmodels for these kids to begin with and now the 5-11 year olds who enjoy her “Hannah” songs and don’t really understand the difdference between Miley and Hannah are going to see someone onstage who doesn’t even resemble the character of Hannah. Do you really think she would even be famous if it wasn’t for Hannah Montana…give me a break.

I took my 5 years old last last to see the concert in Detroit and it was a great concert, however, this IS NOT FOR CHILDREN. My girl was so dissapointed, and so was I after spending $400 dollars to see my baby so sad because she didn’t know any of the songs. I saw many parents leaving before it ended because it is so INNAPROPIATE for the little ones.

Ahh, I gorgot tho mention the warm up band, the brother…he is just disgusting.

@Mary Ann I took my 5 years old for her birthday last night, and she was very dissapointed. If I had known, I would have not taken her. This is not for kids. Hannah Montana is long gone. If you still want to take her, make sure to skip the warm up band, is really bad, and so innapropiate.

I’ll tell u what, I am totally excited. Mayb its wrong for the little ones…..bt it should be ok for 12+ HOPEFULLY! And was Metro Station that bad??? I heard it was awesome!!!

Peace and love to all Miley fans. If everyone’s kids are such huge Hannah Montana fans then I don’t understand why you don’t just buy the Best Of Both Worlds Concert DVD. It’s fantastic! A website that estimates DVD sales says it’s only sold 600,000 plus units. I don’t see how that’s true, but if you don’t have it I highly recommend it. The kid’s will be able to see Hannah perform on it and it’s fun! Even the critics gave it an 80% rotten tomatoes rating, and these are adults. Kids give it a 100% rating.

I went to this show and LOVED it!!! I took three of my friends, we are freshmen in highschool. I understand the aspect of parents worrying about her “sexuality” aspect of the concert, but it was amazing. The effects were unbelievable, and it totally kept your attention throughout the entire thing. I would take your kid to that show in a heartbeat! It was a great experience and we were completely blown away by how well she performed. Isn’t a concert all about music? I highly doubt that your 6 year old kid is going to tell you that miley’s boobs were showing, they will just be excited that they went, and had a great time! About the Hannah Montana transition, it was bound to happen, but she did sing a few of the hits. She sang, Fly on the Wall, Let’s Get Crazy, and G.N.O. To be honest I don’t even pay attention to which songs are Hannah and which are Miley, it’s the same voice, same person, still all about boys and life. I would give it a 10 out of 10 and i could watch it a hundred times over and still love it!

P.S. Metro Station wasn’t really that bad! They definitely stimulated the crowd and got us warmed up for Miley! Just have fun with them, dance and get ready to have the experience of your life!

Metro Station was great! You’re crazy, and obviously not a kid! @Geoff Kleinman

I came home tonight from the Miley Cyrus concert very disappointed. First off, Metro Station was really that bad. They were singing but you really couldn’t understand what they were saying and they sounded desperate for people to remember them. After every song they sang they said remember us or look us up online or down load our song. Uugg!! It got old and was very annoying.

Very sad for my daughter and son, their friends, and all the young kids at the concert. If I had known that Hannah Montana was no more, I definately would not have spent almost $300.00 to take my kids to this concert. We were excited to see Miley Cyrus, but with expectations that we would experience many more of her older songs. I understand she is growing up, but it was so sad to see her trying so hard to act grown up with her dance moves and revealing clothing and forgetting all the younger ones in the crowd that really loved her as Hannah Montana (and parents who loved the role model she was for younger generations).

My kids hated the concert. Metro Station was beyond repair and Miley was quite boring. I stopped counting the families walking. We gave up after she sang ‘Party in the USA’ and her brother came back on stage. What a disappointing night. Who I really feel bad for (other than us for being out over $500 for tickets, parking and dinner) is my girls. They were really excited. WHy wouldn’t she at least sing the entire ‘Hoe Down Throw Down’ song? Give the kids a little something.

i am from england, and i wanted to get some reviews on what people thought of the concert ans i have also watched some videos because i cannot wait to see her! Im 14 years old and me, my best friend, mum and little sister are going, and we are sooooooo excited for it. we are all not bothered that she is not singing her old stuff because we love her new stuff. we also arnt bothered about what she wears, we just can’t wait for the performances!

Recently saw Miley in Milwaukee with a girlfriend and our two 9 year old girls and thought almost all of the show was completely inappropriate for young kids. A great waste of money and time. Metro Station was simply noise – not music. And her brother comes off, as awful as it sounds, as a waste product.

It was almost vile to watch her inappropriate dancing in front of an audience of young girls, in her micro short-shorts, what amounted to pole dancing without the pole. I can’t imagine what she was thinking dancing like that in front of an audience filled with little girls. What an enormous lack of judgement. Our little girls zoned it all out and played with each other and asked to go home early.

With a little more effort Miley could have bridged the gap between Hannah Montana without alienating such a large part of her audience. Needless to say – I’m in no hurry to spend a penny on anything else involving Miley Cyrus!!

@Veronica Are you kidding! Miley cyrus is just a teenager and growing up! All teenagers that i see, cause i am one, wear and dance like she does. When you bought the tickets, did you think it said Hannah Montana concert?! It was a fricken Miley concert, that means it is a concert about her being who she is.

Like every teen out there, she dances and dresses like them. I am 17 and i dress like that. You have to let her grow up and figure out her own mistakes. It also sounds like you have never seen a teenager dress and dance either!

Also i bet that you were a fan of Michael Jackson and Elvis, cause they were dancing inappropriate too. Michael grabbing his crotch and elvis moving his hips; now, today, little boys are dancing like michael grabbing their crotch.

So get over the fact that she is dancing and dressing inappropriately when the fact is that all little kids are going to dress and act like that, its life. Unless you want your child to hate you for not getting any Miley things, i suggest you get over it. Just wait till your child is a teen! It will look as if they are a miley!

Please let Miley grow up!

@Michelle Her tour is a chance for her fans to see the real her and its sad that her younger fans dont appreciate her as her but as Hannah Montana. The Concert headline said: “Miley Cyrus concert” and not ” Hannah Montana”, your kids should of known that.

Sorry to say, but she can’t always be Hannah Montana forever and you have to let her grow up

@Sandy Its great that you understand that she is growing up than other parents, but she cant always be Hannah Montana, thats just a character. I dont think she is forgetting her younger fans, i think she is trying to show them the real her so they can see the difference between her and Hannah. Its sad for me to hear little kids think that she will act or is Hannah montana and doesnt appreciate her for who she is.

Let your kids know that she is being herself and that she plays a character. I am glad that you understand she is growing up, but she has to grow and figure out her own mistakes

@Ana What did you think the concert was, a Hannah Montana concert? No, it was a Miley Cyrus concert, that means her being herself. I think she is doing this tour to show her fans and younger fans that she is completely different to her Hannah Montana character. She wants them to like her for who she is and not Hannah, cause that person is not real.

Why cant kids appreciate her singing and not of how famous she is. Miley is growing up so let her figure out her own mistakes!

@Mary Ann I think that you should tell your daughter that she should try to like the songs because she is trying show her fans that she cant stay Hannah forever. let her know that even though she is not hannah, she is doing her best to keep her fans.

I think its also hard for kids to like her new songs, because they cant relate to her newer songs because its about boys and love.

You didnt waste your money, and shatter your daughter, but you are giving her the experience to see Miley as herself, which is telling your daughter to be herself whenever and not act like someone else. Have fun!

Just saw the Milwaukee show. Interesting to read on here that she already sang with her brother in another concert. Last night they claimed it was the “first time.”

Show was COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE!!! Okay, Miley…you’re ready to take everyone’s money, even when you must know on some level that your show is not for young girls. At one point she grabbed her crotch – yuck! I know I didn’t imagine it because the mom next to me noticed it too. She was crawling on all fours around the stage in sexual ways, and also making other sexual gestures. I’m not a prude – my daughter knows about sex, but this is not a good show. The songs for the most part were awful.

Now..Metro Station….Miley’s brother is just plain creepy. The words to the songs involved inappropriate things for young girls. He tore off his shirt at one point – and his pants were way too low. Then he sang 2 “love songs” to “all the girls in the audience.” Can you say “ew”? Comes off like a creepy pedophile.

Miley lost my vote – we’re never doing anything else regarding her again – and I’m spreading the word. Most of the parents around me were also pretty disgusted.

The majority of you are saying that Miley performs too inappropiatly, take a look at Britney Spears. I’m sure she has fans who are around the same age as the fans that like Miley and she dances around on stage wearing lingerie. I know that Britney is a lot older than Miley, but think back to when Britney was Miley’s age. She dressed and danced the same way. And parents of the younger crowd, your kids need to realize that Miley isn’t Hannah Montana anymore. All she was, was a character. If your daughters wanted to see Hannah Montana you should have brought them to one of the best of both worlds concerts. I see nothing wrong with the way Miley is performing, she’s growing up, wait until your daughters grow up.

I don’t think that Miley is performing inappropiatley. She’s almost 17. Take a look at Britney Spears, I’m sure she has fans that are the same age as the fans for Miley and she dances around on stage in lingerie. I know that Britney is a lot older than Miley, but Britney dressed the same when she was Miley’s age.

To the parents of the younger crowd, you need to tell your kids that Miley is Hannah Montana no more. Hannah Montana is a character and that’s all she will ever be. This tour is about Miley being Miley and doing what she loves to do, sing. If your kids are so disappointed about not seeing Hannah, well you should have taken them to one of the Best of Both Worlds concerts. Just wait til your kids get to be that age. My sister is the same age as Miley and she dresses the same way, it’s just the way teens dress. Get over it!

@Geoff Kleinman Geoff, are you checking the email addresses of the negative commenters? I have the feeling it’s the same person over and over pretending to be someone else.

Miley was right to quit twitter. The anonymous negativeity online is amazing.

@Mary Ann Mary,

I took my almost 7 year old as an early birthday present last week. While it definitely wasn’t a “Hannah Montana” concert, it was still a lot of fun and she did sing several Hannah Montana songs — including Hoedown Throwdown in which she encouraged the audience to get up and dance with her. She, also, performed “Let’s Get Crazy” — another Hannah Montana song as well as a few others. I do agree that the choreography to “GNO” was a little much, but there is so much going on that it wasn’t at all an issue. My daughter and I had a simple conversation preceeding the show that Miley Cyrus, just like Hannah Montana, is a performer so she will have lots of costumes. Kids get it — especially this time of year around Halloween. At this age, they think of it as playing dress-up as opposed to “burgeoning sexuality.” It’s all in how you explain it. Your daughter won’t be scarred for life.

One more thing — I do agree about the inappropriatness of Metro Station for a young audience. The lyrics are definitely on the adult side. Go late to avoid that!

I have floor tickets…not close to stage. Section C I have an opportunity to trade out to a higher seating. What do you think? I want my 8 year old daughter to be able to see the concert.

Well thats a toughy…if you are on the floor – people will be standing and dancing (at least that’s what they did at the Oakland show) – so if your daughter is short – she won’t be able to see much. I would reccomend trading out your floor seats..but make sure you are not too far back either though.

I understand your concern…but please- Miley KNOWS what and who made her famous. But does that mean she HAS to stay that person forever? Does that mean she owes these kids her entire LIFE? No it doesn’t…and I’m sorry for you people who think otherwise – because you are living in fantasy land.

If you are worried about it please visit youtube.com and look up some of the audience videos of her performances – then judge for yourself. If you think it is ok – then good – you could even have your daughter watch some clips too so she can decide for herself if she’s interested. You can also let her know which songs Miley will be singing.

As I have stated before – this is Miley Cyrus not HM. Parents and kids alike need to respect and accept that Miley is growing up..and if you don’t agree – then make sure your kids find a different idol to worship.

We say her show in LasVegas on Sept.26.(Thomas and Mack). We loved it!!!! ROCK-ON,MILEY CYRUS!!! It’s true theres only a few Hannah Montana songs perfomed by Miley as Miley(she did change into a dress to do so). To anyone following her music since the summer of 2008 this should come as no big surprise. I suppose for the people who look at this like seeing a “live movie”,I’m not sure what their enjyment will be. We sat about 75′ away and 25′ up it sounded great, looked awesome. Really though we want to thank Miley for performing the “Hoedown Throwdown”(amoung others), The memory of dancing that with my daughter live to Miley singing it will be one of our most cherished memories, thank you. It is/was well worth the price of admission,no question. She also has a great band,Were happy they do what they do. She is a great talent/singer. And its unlikely we’ll ever see her again flying 60′ off the floor on top of a red Harley singin’ a Joan Jett song. If that sounds appealing to someone,go see it…

we just went to the omaha performance, deeply disappointed!!! My daughter is 8 years old and knew 3 songs, the dancing by Miley was very sexually suggestive and inappropriate for the young audience. Prepare to cover their eyes numerous times and another piece of advice, be about an hour late, then you will miss the extremely sad performance by her brother’s band, and his shedding of his clothes to show off his tattoos, YUCK!!!! very saddened by her “dropping the ball” on being a role model. @Mary Ann

Just got back from Miley’s San Antonio show and too was a bit disappointed. I took my 5 year old and we would have been totally satisfied with a quick Hannah montage. Think about it, when the Beatles split and they each went solo, they still sang the songs that they knew the fans loved them for. It’s what made them famous. You have to give the fans what they want to hear. I understand she’s growing up, but a mix would not have made her cling onto Hannah.

@Mary Ann We went to the San Antonio Miley Concert last might. My 10 year and I thought the concert fell flat. There were all these young fans there dressed like Hannah Montana–even the wig!- and I didn’t recognize Miley when she came out. Her voice was hoarse and she looked tired –her heart just wasn’t into it. How could it be when you have to perform like that ever other night! My daughter kept saying that she didn’t sound the same. I do understand the transition she is making but I wish I would have known that prior to buying my ticket in JUNE. Her brother looks like he just got out of rehab and while his music is not bad by any means — we just did not expect that kind of warm up. Plus he kept talking about sexy women and girls, and his dancers looked like they walked right out of Coyote Ugly. It looked like a 10 year old choreographed their dancing. I personally don’t think the tour is for young girls and their parents. I wish I would have stayed home, and I wish Miley well while she tries to FIND herself and her style while the whole world is watching.

@Mary Ann Mary Ann, I saw the show last night in San Antonio TX. I felt that is perfectly fine for my 9 year old daughter. Of course I would prefer that Miley not wear the super-short shorts and the push-up bra, but I did not feel that she was overly sexy. My daughter really thinks of those outfits as costumes/dress up, not as something you’d actually wear. When you compare what Miley is doing with other currently popular music stars, such as Lady Gaga, I think Miley’s doing just fine. Her lyrics are not sexual at all, and her dance moves were just contemporary/modern dance and not risque. And FYI – I do tend to be conservative, so don’t think that I’m just looser on these things. My daughter isn’t even allowed to wear a bikini.

My 9 year old had already seen the Party in the USA music video, and other pictures of Miley when she’s not in her Disney/Hannah mode, so it was not a shock to her. Also, we already had both of her non-Disney albums (Time of Our Lives and Breakout), so we also knew all the songs.

If your daughter really just knows Miley from the tv show, doesn’t know the other songs, and would be confused by Miley’s new look, then I would NOT recommend the concert. Whether or not 7 is too young for the new Miley is really up to you.

I also agree with other comments that the opening act was TERRIBLE, and that is what was completely inappropriate for the audience. The guy is covered in tattoos, sings about girls taking off their clothes, talked about lusting after a “hot Italian chick”, and kept commenting on all the beautiful and hot women in the audience. HELLO! They’re all 10 years old! What made that all so much worse is that it’s Miley’s older brother. You’d hope she would have made sure he could keep it appropriate for the audience, but apparently not.

Overall, my daughter and I really liked Miley’s show, but I would recommend to anyone with a child under the age of 15 to not go into the arena until Metrostation is off the stage.

@emily I am glad someone here, understands what i am saying! I can;t believe that parents think she will be like her HM character, when she is trying to show herself.

I just want to say, im a big miley fan, so when i saw im glad you guys understand, i am just happy to read that some of you parents know that she is trying to grow up and she cant be hannah montana forever!

So all you other parents who dont agree, LET HER GROW UP! she is just a teen trying to live in this world of love and hate! please

Miley did this show for her older friends, if it was for the younger one it would probably say Hannah Montanna show, Shes trying to grow up, shes tierd of being the child star, wouldnt you? Living your life as everyone expects you too and putting a happy face when your sad? She wants to do more with her life, and thats being a good role model, the dances arent provocative their modern. Every teen her age does them, My friends dance worst than that! and we all have little brothers and sisters that look up to us, but that doesnt mean they actually do what we do! The show is amazing! all the effects and lighnings make it worth to whatch, Trace behavement wasnt so good, but talking about his looks? Hes a teenager thats in what hes 20s? tehers people walking in the streets that way, are you goind to cover you kids eyes when a guy like him passes? SHES TRYING TO GROW UP! LEAVE HER ALONE!

I just reread Geoff’s review and realized that HE was one of the parents expecting Hannah Montana! And reading the end of the review made me realize he’s a little out of the loop. I don’t think Geoff realizes how big Miley is. Whereas, some singers have crossed over to movies, there hasn’t been someone very successful in both movies and music since Elvis! Miley’s concert movie grossed $70 million. Hannah Montana: The Movie, after it opens in Japan in 2010, will have made at least $160 million worldwide. The Last Song should do better, appealing to more people. Wings should do even better, as it will pull in most kids and Miley’s older fans alike. Musically, although she still puts out contractually obligated Hannah Montana, she has a whole separate music stream going, that has been very successful already. Her deal with Max Azria and Walmart has zero to do with Disney. She has already talked about taking time off after Hannah Montana wraps to write music extensively, but don’t be fooled. There are signs that our workaholic Superstar is already working on some of it. She always means what she says; and, she’s talked about getting into production. Since ALL of her projects have been successful, banks and promoters will back her, but she will be able to negotiate good deals because she can always bypass them. She has at least $40 million in the bank and counting. Maybe $60 million, we don’t know. She never has to pay for anything hardly. Her record label, studio, television show, publisher, clothing line, tour, or rich parents pick up the tab. Her fans love her and when they reach a higher average age, they will have more money to spend on her concerts (higher ticket prices) and etc. Even Hannah Montana: The Movie would have made more money except critic were able to peg it as a kid’s movie and most of the tickets were matinee tickets selling at a discount. And here’s the beautiful part. Hannah Montana will be playing on the Disney Channel or in syndication for at least a decade. Cranking out more and mor Miley fans. Miley Rocks!!!

@John To be clear I wasn’t expecting Hannah Montana, the crowd was clearly expecting it. I won’t doubt her fiscal success but that doesn’t mean that what she did on stage was great. As you’ve seen from MANY comments that a good number of her fans were disappointed with her and her show for a myriad of reasons.

But a complete side issue. Miley does a lot of charity work that is out of the eye of the press. She seems like a good kid trying to figure it all out. I wish her nothing but continued success and growth, hopefully she’ll also take the comments from her fans to heart and look at continually tuning what she does to ensure that they continue along as her fans as she changes and grows.

I went to the Kansas City one and it was terrible, along with her brother’s band who make it over the top. He took off his shirt!!!!!!!! I saw three year olds there too. THe security was way over the top, too. MIley’s costumes were very tight and short. It looked to choreographed and sience the concert was rescheduled she didn’t even mention that or appologize. I thought the concert was terrible.

@Dawn They sold t-shirts (both the terrible metrostation and miley), and tote bags. Not much else besides programs. All around 20-30 dollars.

It’s fine that she wants to transition to Miley and a more grown-up persona. However, like many other mothers have stated, I wish I would have known she was going to transition this quickly in this manner BEFORE I bought the tickets months ago. Because our venue used paperless ticketing, I don’t have the option of reselling them.

I will be going to the Miley Cyrus show here in Indianapolis in November. I am not quite sure what to expect, but I am not surprised by the negative views of her show. I have seen a little of her show on UTUBE and it looks totally different from her last major tour. I am sorry to say but a lot of the things she is doing on stage during her performance looks very “cheesy” I don’t know how many of her fans want to see her constantly loving her hair (not sure how else to put it), I don’t know how many fans want to see her dance those cheesy moves she does. Her fans want to see a good show and I feel demand it from her. I don’t kow if she is trying to lose fans, but I feel this tour could just be the beginning of doing so. So, saying this I will be at her show next month….hope it’s surprisingly good.

i think it was the best concert ever she has a wonderful voice and anthusiasum to keep her going from the kids and also teenagers and i think she’ll be acting and singing for a long time or until she wants to stop, and i’ll defintly going to the next available concert next year.

hey i think miley is great !!!! dont be mean to her changing into adult hood its normal every one does so will u !?!?!?!! so stop being rude!?!?!?!?!?! 😀 😛

@Lisa The Ticketmaster Receipts for this famous and paperless tour read: “Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds Concert”.

People please…. get over it. I took my two girls ( 6 & 8) to see the concert and it was awesome. The concert is called MILEY CYRUS not Hannah Montana, get a clue. She has two solo cds out, what did you think she was going to see? Did you see the movie? Hannah no more!!! I have seen more skin and crazy moves at a dance competition. The concert is great.

[…] thin line divides a band like Honor Society from the The Jonas Brothers? Why is Miley Cirus selling out stadiums while Emsee Denters plays to a crowd of just a few hundred? Musically you […]

hey i went to the concert and it was NOT cheesy dance moves that girl was awesome she can work it sing and looks fabulous! so hush.

I took my 9 year old daughter and 6 six old granddaughter to her concert in Dallas, Tx. I’m glad that is is able to travel with her older brother but I feel that his music is inappropriate for young children. When he took his shirt off and revealed his tattoos, that was over the top. With so many young children following Miley, her front bands should keep that in mind.

I went to the Miwaukee conecert on October 10th. This was my first Miley concert and certianly NOT my last. I went with my friends and we oved it. For starters Metro Station is a great band. If you thought that Trace taking his shirt off and “revealing” all his tattoo’s is bad than I guess you’ve never been to a public beach. If you thought that it was “inappropriate” then you need to go back to 1st grade and learn how to read. It was Miley Cyrus NOT Hannah Montana. So all you mothers that are taking your 3 and 4 year olds to her concert than maybe read up on what its going to be about before buying your tickets. Get a grip. Miley Cyrus is my idol and so many others idol. Keep your negative thoughts about this poor girl to yourself. She is a great actress and musician, she has an amazing personality and you should too, all you Miley Haters. I support her. And why can’t you. She never did anything to you. I LOVE YOU MILEY! Thanks for being amazing Miley!

@Mike I went to her concert a few weeks ago and it was awesome. Dont listen to anyone who says it was bad because they dont know what good music is.

I just saw u at North Little Rock Verizon Arena. And u “ROCKED”!!!! And so did your brother!!!!

CaptainKirk : @Lisa The Ticketmaster Receipts for this famous and paperless tour read: “Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds Concert”.

that tour with miley and hannah was two years ago i have been to both tours and she is amazing! read next time

in the summer look around and see how many girls are wearing shorts as short and shorter than mileys!

I’m so glad everyone likes her tour 🙂 I really love her, but I also love Led Zeppelin & that kind of music (Miley is exception xD)and I love how they compared her change with that 😛

im going to her concert october 28 2009 wednesday and im so excited its the frist concert I’ll ever go to im sooooooooooooooooooooooo excited that im shaking!!!! eek!!!!!! i hope its good

Miley has said that John Shanks, the music producer for ‘The Climb’ is with her on tour. That means she’s already started to put together some new music offerings. ‘The Climb’ went to number one on several charts.

@CaptainKirk but still the parents should of known that it was a Miley Cyrus concert, people can say the wrong thing on some stuff.

Miley may have a small difficulty going forward. Younger girls are booking appointments at salons, and dressing up, getting ready to see their idol. What happens when she starts singing Rock and Roll? Will the kids who will show up even if they have to skip school be disappointed? Will Miley have to sing two concerts per city? I think it will all work out somehow, because we love Miley, not just her singing and acting. I hope her younger fans will support her rock music.

I don’t care what any of the 13 year olds here have to say or the other “parents” who don’t see anything wrong with her performance. The review seems to absolutely love the “sexed up version of Girls Night Out,” but I was disgusted and ticked off!

Miley Cyrus knows damn well who her audience is at this moment…all the little gils who watch her on Disney Channel. Yeah, it WOULD have been nice if the parents had been informed or warned about the adult nature of her performance but c’mon…SHE WANTED OUR MONEY!

That’s fine…she got our money this time…she never will again.

Thing is, Miley doesn’t get that her prior wholesomeness is what made her stand out….now that she’s turning “skank” you can just lump her in with all the other degrading performers like Brittney, Lindsey Lohan, etc. etc. Now there will be NOTHING to make her stand out.

I hope she completely fails!

Don’t know where you’re getting that “the review seems to absolutely love the ‘sexed up version of Girls Night Out.'” Far from it. I thought it was uncomfortable at best, didn’t love it at all…

We also love Miley because she avoids swearing and name calling.

I took my 12 year old daughter to the concert last night in Chicago. We saw her when she opened for the Cheetah Girls about 3 years ago, and last year with the both worlds tour. I was very surprised by her dancing which included sliding her hand over her breasts and moving her hand down to her private parts, and doing some type of floor moves during the first song. During the GNO song she acts like she is pole dancing with a hanging rope. She keeps playing with her hair and shaking it like she is doing some type of rock star move. She also crouches down and keeps singing. She did touch lightly on the Thriller, which I thought was going to be good, but it ended after about 20 seconds. This show is not for the little girls who want to see Hannah Montana. I saw several girls dressed up like Hannah and I’m sure they were dissappointed with her performance. If I would have read the previous reviews when the tickets went on sale in June, I would not have purchased them. Gone is the innocence of youth. My daughter said the show was okay, but not what she expected. She has all of the CD’s and I could tell she was dissappointed.

…but to address your feelings. Buyers remorse is one of the most common things there is. But Lisa, we know you are not a fan. What we would like is an honest appraisal of how the fan(s) in your household responded to this concert. If that’s possible.

Kids going to see musicians that their parents think are outrageous is the order of the universe. I guess you thought you were going to avoid that. What do you think the parents thought of the Grateful Dead? The Rolling Stones? Kiss? Bette Midler? Even Elvis(the pelvis.) who sang many religious songs later. I guess you were happy with Debbie Gibson, but if kids were, she would still have a career. YOU are not the target audience. Get over it/used to it.

I guess I’m upset too now…I was talking to an older lady who was lamenting that, in her day, you could be more friendly with guys, because it was understood that you would not be having sex until marriage. She said that when standards changed, she had to give up hanging out with her guy friends to stop people from talking. Miley has set the goal of not having sex before marriage. That being the case, she could walk naked down the street for all I care. It’s not the posing and etc. that is the problem. It’s the casual sex that leads to abortion, STD’s, unwanted pregnancies, loss of reputation, etc. Miley is a good role model. Her fans know where she stands on promiscuity. At the same time, you have to be able to explore some aspects of your maturing sexual nature, within limits. Girls are going to do this whether you’re happy about it or not.

Ok, first of all I understand parents not wanting there kids to see things that they shouldn’t, but have you turned on a TV in the last 5 years? Women don’t wear dresses that their whole bodies are covered anymore. Miley Cyrus is 16 years old and you should have thought about that before you bought a ticket, cause I’m sure there are people out there who would have bought those tickets and enjoyed the show. Your daughters are eventually going to go out and see the world, I doubt at their young ages are going to go out and start having sex cause they saw Miley Cyrus in a pair of short shorts. Haven’t you seen photos of Miley lately? Shes not living as Hannah Montana anymore, weren’t you ever 16? Its a tough age trying to find yourself, but she does it on stage. I’m completely excited to be seeing her in a week, and i highly doubt these little girls are scarred for life because of her performance, I mean do you think her parents would let her 8 year old sister be there everynight if she was having sex on the stage like most of you make it seem.

I am going to see the concert in 6 days and I am so excited. I think what people need to realize is that with 2 solo cds out she wants to sing those songs. she doesn’t have enough time to sing all the hannah ones, so she would obviously rather sing her own because she did write most of them and they are personal to her. Bottom line is that this is a miley tour, not a hannah one.

@John I agree with you. Wearing short shorts does not make someone a skank. It is their actions that define them. People who are comparing Miley to Brittney and Lindsey need to realize that Brittney is looked at as bad because of her actions and excessive partying. You don’t see Miley sneaking into clubs like Lindsey does. Miley wears a purity ring and is a devoted Christian. These are the things you should take into consideration when thinking of Miley, not how short her shorts are cause who really cares?

HI… well i went to the concert yesterday it was good!!! but yes i do agree that she was kinda showing alot… i was looking forword to this concert for 5 monthes i loved it but i hate to see her look all idk… she had really short shorts and low tops she is trying to grow up but i think she could of told us and yes i will still love her songs and everything i was just a little disiponed… P.S. her 2 friends were there and she seemed to only pay attetnion to them not the croud! but i liked the concert and how she rode on the bike

I realize that Miley is growing up and wanting to shed her Hannah Montana image, but I think it could have been done in a more tasteful, step-by-step process, instead of “In Your Face” don’t give a flip about all the little girls in the audiance, who by the way are the ones who made her famous, who bought all her merchandise, who wore those HM T-shirts to her concert, and were so dissappointed, at the stranger on stage…not to mention the shocked mothers, who were trying to explain something to their daughters, which they didn’t even understand! This concert should have been billed as ADULT-not age appropreiate for her Hannah Montana fans, especially with the one hour opening act with her brother stripping down to show all his ink! Come on Miley. Who’s is managing you? You want to be grown up now, we get that..part of being an adult is acting adult. How could you not know that your show would be attended by your HM fans, expecting to hear & see THAT person. If you didn’t want to “transistion slowly” to protect your HM fans, then your concert should be promoted as NOT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN! That would be the christain thng to do. Be happy Miley, but don’t let people lead you down the path of greed, and corruption.

I took my grand daughter to the concert in Louisville last night and must agree I was alitte disappointed as well. First of all, when you take little ones to the concert starting at 7:00 and she doesn’t actually perform until 8:40, well the little ones get restless. That’s a long time and their patience run thin. I also thought she would sing at least one of her hannah songs, but no, she sang only a few songs we new. However, it was a performce and my 9yr old grand daughter said she liked so thats all that matters I suppose!!!

Miley Rocks! I’m sympathetic to everyone who feels Miley should pander to her younger audience, but I feel you haven’t thought things through. Not only is Hannah Montana Season 4 probably going to be on until Miley is 18, but the show will then be in reruns or syndication for probably a decade, all the while garnering new young viewers who would like to see Miley live! When you say Miley should cater to her younger audience, you are dooming her to a style of music she wants to do less of, for a decade! Forget that!!! Miley is moving into more rock and roll, and objectively, there’s no reason to wait.

wow ! that was really rude 4 wat u said . yeah , she made some mistakes in her life but who cares cuz we all make mistakes .. okay , maybe her daning was slutish but that just who she is and u cant change her . she’s her own person and u need to respect that . so maybe u should just back off . an leave her alone . cuz no is prefect. she’s maybe my role model but not ur childens but dats okay .. if u dont wat ur kids to watch her show or go to her concerts then thats ur problem. but i look up to her. she’s 16 bout become 17 . she has alot of things to learn just like me . so .. maybe u should just leave it alone.

I am a 20 year old girl. I grew up with a life I wouldnt chage for anything. Even though I have made many mistakes, I learned from them. And trust me, I don’t know what many mistakes could be worse. Everyone grows up differently. As they call it, tween stars have a really bad side to growing up famous. People thrive off of hearing drama and gossip off celebrities lives, and a lot of it is so fake, which many people even know that. Yet people still will believe everything they hear. Miley Cyrus is my favorite young celebrity, i do not know why but something about her is just inspiring to me. I’m sure there are a lot of other girls my age who feel the same. I mean i do not know how many actually blast all her songs in the car everywhere they go, but i guess that’s just me! At first I was not a Miley fan, just because I wish I could live the way she lives. But most of all be as talented. Even though we all have our own type of talent. She is so young and has so much to live for yet of course she is going to make mistakes along the way and of course the pandemonium is heard about it. Like she said “it is no one else’s business”. Something new happens each day, people hear about it and forget it. Not the entire world gives a care to celebrity drama or anything at all. So celebrities don’t always need to make it seem like the entire world cares, when they don’t. I think Miley is doing so amazing for herself, but she needs to stop saying what other people think and act like she isn’t even famous feel like she’s not always being talked about. But that is what she is here for, her “destiny” to bring “hope” to the world. She is entertaining people, and everyone knows “everybody makes mistakes”, stop worrying and keep living! Always worrying about the talk going on just forget it! This is so clear to everyone now that celebrities need to just get over it! Especially with her twitter deleting thing. Why delete your whole thing, when you write inspirational things that more then 2 million people looked at. You choose what you want to write, You didn’t need to be a twitter whore, just write what you think makes other people happy. She just caused a controversy for herself. And she needs no means of publicity thats obvious, but destiny bring that hope for sooo many people!!!!!!

@Geoff Kleinman How can you say that you hope she completely fails? This girl has worked hard to get where she is at! And your little girl will soon be a big girl and will emerge into a “Miley Cyrus” as well!!! She is not a little young “Hannah Montanna” any more. I am sorry that you feel so harshly against her. While I will admit I can see your side of the story, I knew when I got the ticket to go to this AWESOME show that I wasn’t going to see a young Hannah & I was going to see Miley!!! The concert was great!!! She worked really hard, it took alot of time and effort to do all of the great things we seen!!! I encourage everyone to go! You will be surprised at the sights!!! But, just know WHO you are going to see!!! God Bless You All and Don’t Feel Negatively About Anybody!!! We should LOVE One Another as our Christ Jesus first LOVES US!!!

I am an 54 year old ex-bar musician. Have a degree in music and consider myself a good guitar player although I don’t play anymore. This pre-requisite as I thsought the Miley show in DC was OUTSTANDING! The musicianship was awesome and Miley actually sang well. I was surprised. I was knocked out by Mileys showmanship. She is a pro and Madona, Brittany, Janis Joplan (if she were still alive) should all move over for the next major woman superstar.

im 15 years old and I LOVE MILEY!!!!! i think some of you are forgetting that hannah montana DOESNT EXIST…. its supposed to be an alter ego of miley. shes already done one tour like that, why would she want to spend another one touring as someone who isnt even her? she obviously doesnt want to be known as hannah montana her whole life……. and i like the miley songs so much better anyways. parents should do their research before they pay for this expensive concert… i mean im 15 and i knew full well what i was paying for when i bought them for myself. and it was SO WORTH IT i actually love her so much more now. LOVE YOU MILEY!

Come on people – she is 16 years old!!!! Sorry, some of the things she does are not even appropriate for that age group. What an example. I’m sorry, I looked around at the young kids (my daughter is 11) and saw the looks of embarrassment on their parent’s faces. It reminds me of the time I took my daughter to see Cheetah Girls and we didn’t find out until after we purchased the tickets that Raven Symone, our favorite, was not going to be on the tour. I felt blindsided by her. Not to mention the fact that she was ill (it was very apparent when she almost fell down the steps in the opening). If she were that ill, couldn’t she have rescheduled and given us a performance worth our money? I may be old fashioned, but our girls are growing up too fast because of stars like this. I was, am a big Miley fan, but somehow it should have been communicated that this concert was rated PG. I would not have taken my daughter if I had known. I also agree that Metro Station was awful. Are those tattoos real? Ugh!

WOW WOW. METRO STATION IS MY LIFE SO DONT EVEN SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THEM!!! TRACE CYRUS IS TOTALLY AWESOME! AND HES MILEYS BROTHER!!! HER WHOLE FAMILY IS AWESOME SOO YAHH 🙂 WHO CARES IF HE REVEALS TATOOS, WAY TO JUDGE LADY! @Justine

Last night I attended the miley cyrus concert in philadelphia. I am a huge fan of miley, and she certainly did not disappoint the crowd. She played all of her most popular songs, and I thought it was great when she was on the motorcycle and was within feet of my seats. It was obvious how hard she has worked to make this a great tour with all the special effects. Her voice sounded great live. So I just wanted to write this to anyone who has not gone to a concert yet, and does not know what to expect; you truly will not be disappointed. Go Miley!!

I took my daughter to see Miley Cyrus last night in Philadelphia. The average age of the young crowd was about eight. I was appalled, and it’s deeply upsetting to see the children’s reviews on here that think it was decent. (Poor word choice). I have seen over 250 bands in concert, from Quiet Riot to Reba McIntyre, so I enjoy the gamut of music. But this was a bait and switch like no other. Metro Station was unbilled in anything I bought, and I would not have exposed the children who went with me to this type of music with a lead singer tatted up like he’s been doing it for 20 years. And Miley…I know all her songs, and youtubed before I bought tix because I know she is growing up…but there was nothing out there six months ago when I bought these tix to say I’d have a leather-bodysuit prepubescent with her butt hanging out writhing around with sex-act fishnet stockinged dancers along for the ride. And don’t forget the in-floor crotch cam to the jumbotron. This should be universally appalling, and if she was in front of men instead of girls and their mommies it would be prosecutable under minor protection laws. I feel sad for all the children who wandered unknowingly into that atmosphere. One of the kids asked me in confusion after the second song…”Where’s Miley?” Ask her Daddy, sweetheart. Or Britney. I’m sure she recognizes the path. The music is great. The staging is criminal.

“loving her hair” – great line and very appropriate.

Debbie H. : Come on people – she is only 17 years old!!!! Miley looked very ill (and later confirmed it) and it showed when she nearly tripped down the steps during the opening number. If she was that ill, couldn’t she have rescheduled and given us a performance worth our money? Some many not agree, but our girls are growing up too fast as it is. When I saw the new video I thought, uh oh, and I was correct in my concerns. Miley’s role model is Brittany Spears. We know where this is heading. By the way, you can still sell those paperless tickets as long as you accompany the purchaser to the venue so they can swipe your card.

Saw the concert in Philly this week. Was very disappointed. Miley was not playing to the crowd of youngsters that attended her concert. Very adult material, costumes and dancing. Should have been a PG-13 rating for the concert. Too many young girls were there unknowingly for a concert that was way more adult that they were prepared for. Disappointed.

As I read these reviews, I am discourged by the effects of this young artist. I see that young people do follow her and look up to her which is the problem with the quick change to Miley. The Hannah Montana children are going to follow Miley because they loved the character of Hannah and parents did not see the concern in that because of the purity of the Hannah character. As a parent though I see the tattoos(which may have been fake, the way of dress at the concert, and the sexual dancing and I do not want that for my child. I wanted the pure and innocent rule model. At the concert the brother took off his shirt and explained a speech of if does not matter if you are black or white or if you have tattoos it does not judge your character. Race is not a choice and he is right that should not matter but the tattoos are a choice. I also once read an article that Miley was not allowed to get braces because her father said she was perfect the way she was but why would he allow his children to cover their bodies in unecessary tattoos. I saw the movie and new the name on the concert tickets. I just guess I saw Miley for the actor she is and not the person she truely is. The actor is who I would like my daughter to remember her as and hope that she will realizes the effect she has on our young children.

I heard President Obama’s kids loved Miley’s concert!

Sexploitation. I agree with other people on here. Fact is Miley should have probably told people she was gearing towards an older audience because her act is more mature. She is more like Britney, or Pussy cat dolls. I believe that true feminity is being lost in American culture and doesn’t exist anymore. There is no way for American girls to grow up without being exposed to it. So not taking your kids to the concert wouldn’t prevent them from being exposed to sex at an early age. It is everywhere. On tv commericals. It is at the super markets while they are waiting by your side. The fact of the matter is that sex sells in this country and the more sexed up Miley can get, the better she will be in terms of money! She isn’t doing anyhting wrong except just conforming to what society says people want to see. So don’t blame Miley, if you want to blame someone, blame the media and popular American Culture.

Right now I’m going back to watching a concert DVD Palmy rhythm of the times from 2002, a Thailand singer who doesn’t use sex to sell. She’s as genuinely feminine as it gets.

@Mary Ann We just came home from the concert she started singing at 8:10pm and tried to end at 9:10 (1 hour??!!) the first encore was about 9:15 and the show ened at 9:30. I’m used to Bon Jovi and others who play for hours…I felt it was way too short. I didn’t think the outfits were bad at all, she had stockings underneath and she also did not do offensive moves. My daughter had a great time. I didn’t think Metro Station was good at all. I understand that she wants to help her brother but he came accross as an amateur and his tattooos were disturbing. All in all it was a fun show and she sounded great my only criticism was how short it was and there were too many costume changes I started wondering if it was a fashion show. I don’t think she strayed too far from her Hannah persona there were absolutely NO Hannah songs and the Hoedown Throwdown was too short.

@Justine well she is getting older and she isn’t playing stuff for little kids anymore. metro station isn’t going to make up some random songs that have no meaning to them just for these little kids that don’t know them. they already changed some of the lyrics for the show.

@Mary Ann Metro Station was amazing, she didnt need to help them they are big as is. They have been wanting to tour together for a long time and they finally got their wish. She sang two hannah montana songs. There was a lot of costume change cause each song has a different meaning and she wants us to understand her better.

My husband and I saw the show at Penn State with our nine year old. We were all impressed. It was a little more adult than we expected, but not in a trashy way. Her voice was strong, and there was always something cool going on on stage. My husband expected a more innocent show, but I reminded him this is a Miley show, not a Hannah show. The only thing I did not like was the opening band. Her brother’s band Metrostation did a half hour set, they are not very good, and he unwisely removed his shirt for the last song. I did not need to see his tattoo scarred torso, and I know the little girls around me didn’t either. Overall we had a great time, and my daughter will be talking about her first concert for a long time.

I took my daughter to her concert last night, I was quite shocked by the number of little (4-5 year old) girls there in Hannah Montana outfits, with HM signs. This WAS not a Hanna Montana concert. Her Best of Both Worlds tour was the beginning of the break from HM, and that was followed with a Miley album, a small tour last year that only hit small venues like the MGM at Foxwoods Casino, and another Miley album this year. It was sad at the end to see all these little girls crying because there was no Hannah songs performed, but that is the parents fault for not making sure what they were buying was age appropriate. The opening act-Metro Station- should have been enough to let them know this wasn’t appropriate for a 5 year old. The singer is covered in tattoos from chin to ankle. There was one song Miley did a duet with her brother, the singer of Metro Station-and he was doing a death metal scream, this must have put the HM fans over the edge! We went knowing it was Miley, and we were both very happy with the show. But my daughter knows that Miley is a rock star and what she does is not appropriate for her and would never try to dress as scantily as miley does in her show. We also discuss the differences in how she acts on stage and in real life. You don’t see pictures of Miley riding her bike in short shorts, you see her in sweats. People need to start taking responsibility for their children and stop blaming others for being bad influences.

I took mt daughter to the Boston concert last night. Not an appropriate concert for young children!

My 8 year old daughter and I saw the St. Louis concert on Oct. 28th. She was extremely disappointed and I was horrified! I agree with you Indy 100%. Well said!

I am getting tired of everyone dumping on Miley’s brother Trace. He has performed here in Portland to a full house at the Roseland theater. He’s been touring and playing dates professionaly for about two years. Metro Station’s first album went to #1 on Billboards electronic albums chart. If you consider his band just noise, that’s cool, but that doesn’t mean he’s unprofessional. Although I, at first, thought his touring with Miley was an “interesting” choice, I’ve totally warmed up to the idea. All these shocked comments by parents have made me realize Metro Station was a good choice to jar some sensibilities, in order to get people more used to the Rock and Roll that’s coming next. Well played Miley. Trace’s tatoos help us to be better people by learning not to judge people who are different from us so harshly. Thanks Trace.

My husband loved it.!!! LOL…The girls…well not so much. I know it was not going to be the “hannah Montana” type of concert… IT WAS much different then expected and you could tell she didn’t really have a “style” of music anymore. There was a lot to look at during the concert which was great….other wise I would have thought I was at a punk rock, cindy lauper, stevie nicks, axel rose..type of concert….LOL My girls did not complain though…but they were in awe and love Miley. The one thing I noticed though is that they haven’t listened to her music since the concert monday night! I went to the concert in Boston MA and it was really really loud and I didn’t think she sang too well! Still love her though. I really did NOT enjoy her brother one bit….but he seemed to reflex the type of concert it was going to be…..

I found myself wondering what drugs they both took before the concert?

@Saw Miley on Tour I grew up in the 80″s with REAL rock bands and I can tell you that Metro Station doesn’t even come close. It was a lot of screaching and screaming and yes…noise. Awful just awful. I read the reviews and therefore only showed up to the arena for the last 4 songs of MS thankfully. I also don’t think that MS was similar to Miley at all…she was a real professional and someone to watch in the coming years.

I just came home from the concert in Cleveland. I have to say that I was very uncomfortable and put back by what I saw. I am a very open-minded person and am very open and honest with my daughter (9). She was dressed very scantly…she was very permiscuous… and quite frankly made me feel a bit uneasy. I just thought that maybe they would have put some kind of warning when purchasing the tickets to let parents know that this was not a Hananh Montana/Miley thing. Otherwise had I had my husband with me we could have sat back and enjoyed…. but with 10,000 4-5 year olds it was a bit off-putting….

I took my 6 year old daughter to the concert this evening. While we had a very nice evening together, it was embarrassing the way Metro Station played to the audience, as if it were only made up of teens and adults. It was fairly sad to see a lot of the young girls disappointed. The frustrating thing, and I realize she is not “Hannah Montana” anymore, is that the concert was not promoted to a more mature audience. The Cyrus family is an amazing marketing empire. If they would have said only Miley songs would be played, and if they had indicated that Metro Station would open, many parents, including me, would not have purchased them. BTW, whether it was a TV show or not, she still sang the Hannah Montana songs. It is ridiculous to separate them from everything she does from here on out. They, and her wonderful personality, are what propelled her into stardom in the first place. I think Miley is an amazing talent, but for those of you that say the concert was not geared toward young girls, consider this fact: Unlike concerts for teens and adults, this one began at 7:00 and was over at 9:30pm. Miley wanted her old fans (young children) to show up. I believe that was an unwise decision, but she is laughing all the way to the bank.

There is no paperless ticketing at Miley’s U.K. tour dates. The result is scalpers went it and her shows were “sellouts”. Tickets outside of London are going for much higher than base cost, but in London, she’s been able to keep the prices on the secondary market to about twice the face value of the tickets by adding shows (now five). Miley has actually left some money on the table to keep the tickets at face value for her fans (well over a million dollars total for her entire tour). The downside is, since the paperless system is in it’s infancy, people can’t resell them. I think this works great for the vast majority of her fans, but I was wondering if the people who didn’t 100% love everything about her show, would want her to ditch paperless in the future, even if it meant higher ticket prices. Then you could resell your face value tickets easily, and maybe get most of your money back if you bought inflated tickets. There’s no way I can think of to get a heads up of what a tour will be like before the tickets break, unless artists start giving critics access to the tour rehearsal, which won’t help musical acts, and could hurt them, so it’s not going to happen. Also, m

…Also, movie critics rarely, if ever, give me the information I need to make a buying decision, so why would concert reviews be any different. Even live theater reviews don’t tell you if there is foul language used in the show, for instance. Hint: don’t go see “Sugarbabies”.

we are going to the Miley Cyrus concert this coming weekend and the only reason my 12 year old daughter agreed to go was because it was not going to be a “Hannah” thing…you people really need to read the ticket info before purchasing.

@Mom in Charlotte, NC It is NOT what you will want your little ones to see. I just took my 9 year old last night and was appalled by it. I hate to sound like an old fogey but little girls do not need to see a Miley Cyrus who dresses like a you know what and dances like a you know what. The opening act was annoying and too loud. Her brother did so much self promoting it was sickening. I felt like I was at a bad punk rock, rock concert. Jus be warned……..it is not Hannah!

I have to totally agree with you after going to her concert last night. VERY DISAPPOINTING. We will never go to another one of her concerts. Hello Taylor Swift!

We saw Miley last night in Greensboro NC and were disappointed. Miley disrespected her fans with her lude behavior. She took advantage of her young girl fans. When she earns an older audience, then she can perform for an older audience. I don’t care what name she wants to go by, to bump and grind showing all that God gave her, to a crowd of little girls is ridiculous. Middle aged men would enjoy the show. All she was missing was the poll. We love Miley as a person and care for her. But she needs to know how the people that have made her who she is today, feel about her performance. I went to see Daughtry last week and it was a real rock concert. It would’ve been more appropriate for my 6 and 8 year old girls than Miley’s current tour. I will not allow my children to follow her while she behaves this way.

I took my 13 year old daughter to see Miley in Greensboro last night and I was very DISAPPOINTED. Metro Station was HORRIBLE and rude for saying ‘if the parents don’t like them they just need to get over it’. Trace is NASTY looking and who would want their teenager to look at something so Disgusting as he is? I was expection a fun, clean concert to enjoy with my daughter but this was TRASH. I will never purchase another ticket or anything concerning Miley. I lost all interest and respect for her!!! My daughter was very disappointed in seeing her – a sex craved slut. How could Billy Ray be proud of that?? And she waited until the last 2 minutes of her show to even adknowledge the death of the bus driver. TRASH TRASH TRASH

Hey Miley. Please come to frankfurt/main in germany i love you so much and you are my idol. You have here so much fans and im your biggest.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…!!!!!

You guys calling Miley trash are going to hell.

I went to the concert in Greensboro last night and I thought it was amazing! And I love how all the parents on here were complaining about how she was dressed…did you not look at the 5 and 6 year olds around you? I saw kids last night dressed worse then Miley. Personally, I loved Miley’s clothes and I don’t think they were that revealing. She’s not Hannah Montana anymore and parents should have realized this was NOT a HM concert. Miley did an amazing job!

We saw Sunday’s show in Greensboro, NC. This was a birthday present for my 11-year-old. She has loved Miley since the beginning, read and loved her book, and wants to become a singer like her. I was online as soon as Miley World pre-sale tickets went on sale and bought the best available seats. I bought 3 tickets so that she could bring a friend. Even I was looking forward to seeing Miley as we had enjoyed her show from her first tour, and the concert movie was wonderful. I like rock and pop, and enjoy going to concerts. We could not get tickets to the Best of Both Worlds tour, last year, so I was pleased to see paperless tickets for this show. The closest venue was a 5 hour drive, so we made a mini-vacation out of it. Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly of the show:

Highlights: The ballad ‘Bottom of the Ocean’, Miley looked elegant in a lovely gown, her voice sounded angelic, and the effects were beautiful. The ‘Thriller’ bit was well done and a fun surprise. Best moment was the flying red Harley, with Miley all smiles as she ‘rode’ through the air around the audience. The last song of the night, Miley looked the most like her wholesome self, as she spoke to the audience about the tour bus driver that had tragically died just 2 days before on the way to our Greensboro show.

The Good: It was the day before Miley’s birthday and they were letting some of the girls in the audience record ‘happy birthday’ video messages to her. That was a sweet start. Miley put on a slick production with top-notch band members and dancers. Special effects, flying and props added to the entertainment. Miley sounded good live, and looked beautiful. There were glimpses of the sweet girl when she would make eye contact with a fan and Miley’s face would light up with her trademark smile (but there were surprisingly few of these moments of connection made with the audience.)

The Not-So-Good: This is not the Miley you knew and loved. She showed her ‘other side’ during the last tour, but that other side was just fun and flirty Miley, a little more rock than pop, but still the same audience as her TV persona. Sadly, Miley has gone so far away from her squeaky-clean Disney image as Hannah Montana that she is like a different person. The show was too short. After paying $80 per seat, and driving hours to see her show, we felt like we deserved to hear more songs. And there were plenty of them that she neglected to perform from her own Miley songs, while she threw in songs that most of the kids — and kids are her core audience — did not even recognize. Why leave out Butterfly Fly Away and only do a mini-clip of Hoedown Throwdown? Also, Miley did not engage the audience, in fact she rarely spoke to us between songs.

The Bad: Forget Hannah Montana — the only hint of her at the show was a rocked-up version of Let’s Get Crazy. Miley did not project the charming, wholesome image we have come to love. We saw her when she toured with Cheetah Girls 3 years ago, so we had some expectations about her performance that were definitely a disappointment. Miley’s wardrobe was borderline inappropriate. Too revealing, too sexy, for a 17-year-old who is idolized by little girls. She has perfect legs and a nice figure, and certainly showed less than a bikini would, but the style of some of the outfits was more Pussycat Dolls than it really needed to be. In addition, Miley’s dancing was a bit too suggestive at times. I’m sure the younger girls were confused by her sexy writhing on the floor, her sensual moves with her band and dancers, the odd screams she threw in 2-3 times, and the tongue flick that she directed at one cast member front and center at the start of the show. No cursing or inappropriate remarks from Miley thank goodness. But Miley seemed to be purposely rejecting any idea of innocence, forgetting that most of her fans ARE young innocent girls. Combine the bustier and hot pants outfits with Miley’s sexually-charged dancing, and it just wasn’t the right thing for her CURRENT audience. I’m hoping Miley doesn’t go down the path that Britney Spears fell into, but this show suggest that she might. I don’t understand why she would choose this route, when stars like Taylor Swift have shown that staying true to what made you successful will keep you at the top, with no apologies. I’m not sure that her next tour will sell out, unless she manages to attract a completely new and more mature audience, such as those that enjoy P!nk and similar acts. This seems to be her goal, but it is too early to tell if that will happen. I will speculate that, once the final season of HM is done, we will never see her beloved image again in Miley Cyrus.

The Ugly: The opening act/Miley’s brother! YUCK! Talk about a repulsive freak show. Covered in tattoos, with a mediocre band, Miley should have left him at home. He was just gross, and very innappropriate to put it mildly. One of the songs said something about he knows you want to take your clothes off! Then he addressed the parents, saying that they looked ‘shocked and upset, and they needed to get over it!’ Then he wiped the sweat off his nasty self and threw the towel into the audience, as if any of those sweet girls wanted that disgusting thing anywhere near them! Metro Station does not belong at a Miley Cyrus concert, at least not the Miley we were expecting. I wish she had toured with Selena Gomez and The Scene or some other decent appropriate band.

Bottom line: this was a mixed feeling. A good but too-short show, and if you are expecting the Miley from her Best of Both Worlds concert, you should stay home. This show will NOT make up for missing that show, and will shock many parents and leave many young fans disappointed. The show in itself without that expectation was entertaining and well done (other than the opening act of course). I would recommend the show only if you understand and are OK with what you will see. Remember the episode of HM where Hannah is trying to find her ‘next next’, and dons a punk outfit to perform a heavy metal style song? It was meant to be funny, but Miley seems to have taken that episode seriously. And I’m not sure that her ‘next’ is what her fans (or their parents who spend the money) really want. Would I have gone through this much time, effort, and money to take my daughter to see Miley if I knew the show would be like this? Probably, but only because an 11-year-old doesn’t understand that her idol has changed unless she sees it herself. But we won’t bother again.

Fav moment: This was a birthday present for my 11-year-old.

The Bad: Forget Hannah Montana — the only hint of her at the show was a rocked-up version of Let’s Get Crazy. Miley did not project the charming, wholesome image we have come to love. Wow,I can’t believe that people are actually saying that she sings well live. Let be HONEST people she sings HORRIBLE live. Ive seen some excellent voices live (Celine Dion, Christina Aguleria, etc.) and Miley isn’t even close to them by a LONG SHOT. Sorry, grow up and realize what true talent is. I realize the people that are saying she has a good voice are probably teenagers, so give it a few years and their opinions will change.

As far as the concert goes. I saw her last night in Charlotte and I was VERY dissapointed. The concert was WAY too short. She needs to practice her non-existant dance moves and put on some clothes. Im not saying that she needs to cover up completley, but you can still dress sexy, cute, etc and still be tasteful. There are plenty of artists that do so. She also had no interaction with her audience and she rushed through half the songs and then cut some short as well. What was the point of asking everyone to “get on their feet” and then play one verse from a song? That was pointless.

I understand that she is trying to change her target audience to a more mature audience, but she needs to do a better transition than that. Give it some time..she is the next Britney, we all know her painful fate!

I doubt that she is crap I think she is starting to grow up and prove herself that she is not Hannah Montana and she is becoming a singer in her own right. She is alright to do whatever she wants in concert it is her show. But I am looking forward to seeing her on the 28th December 2009 in Manchester!!!! 😀 🙂 😉

We attend the Charlotte,NC concert last night and Miley is AWESOME. I did see alot of “HM” young girls all dressed up and this was not a HM concert. IT IS MILEY CYRUS. I felt it was all appropriate and she is on her way to great career. I will buy tickets again and take my girls again. I disagree with alot of you guys. HM is on her way out and Miley is on stage. I do agree I did not like the Metro Station they are horrible!!! Too loud and too hard rock to open for Miley. I had never even heard of them before last night and frankly wish I had not. All in all we had a great experience and cant wait to do it again. And my girls understood and WANTED to see Miley NOT HM…..they are growing up and understand what she wears on stage is all for the show….its up to us parents to teach our children that and its not for everyday going out in public dress like Britney….. I will definitely take my girls again….we had a blast!!!!

Can anyone tell me how much a Miley Cyrus T-shirt is? My daughter is going to the concert(on Saturday night 11/28) with a friend and not sure how much money to send her with.

COME ON PEOPLE MILEY IS SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD! she is not the little kid she was when she started Hannah Montana. This is a Miley Cyrus concert NOT a Hannah Montana concert. Miley is just a celebrity doing what celebrities do and if this is not what you want to see don’t buy a ticket. Taking my daughter tonight and I am sure she will love it, she is going to see MILEY not HANNAH.

Show is a disappointment for my girls. Concert in Atlanta wasn’t well organized.

it’s your fault if you went to the concert and didn’t like it! get over it if it was too raunchy! she has the right to do whatever she wants at her own concerts. i am personally happy that none of you are going to buy any more tickets from her shows because she doesn’t want those little girls there anymore. i am 16 and i went with my friends and we LOVED it. we all decided we would definitely give up christmas presents to see her show again in a different city! so, for all of you out there who aren’t overly conservative IT WAS AMAZING. she sounded great and she acted like any 17 year old would. i am actually proud of her for doing her show like this! it was exactly how she wanted it to be and she didn’t care what anyone thought about it! Miley we love you and you’re teenage fans definitely enjoyed the show it was an amazing night and you are a great performer! i was alert and having fun the entire time. and metro station was AMAZING. it was all together a great show and i loved every second of it! THANK YOU for coming to Memphis! please come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously if you were a parent of a child younger than 15 your just plain stupid for takin your child to this concert! Apparently you didnt read the name of the tickets when you bought them!! it was a MILEY CYRUS concert not a hannah montana concert!! SHE SINGS MILEY CYRUS SONGS NOT HANNAH MONTANA ONES!!!!! and apaerently you didnt even read about the concert even miley said in an interview she wasnt going to sing any hannah montana songs because it was just a MILEY CYRUS concert and she was glad to get away from the hannah persona!!! when i went to this concert i was the only one who knew all the words!!!! it was crazy because their were all these little girls there with their moms hoping for a hannah montana concert and it obviously wasnt!! i hate it how you all blame miley for your mistakes!! you should have known more about miley and her music befor taking your daughter!!! im a 17 year old miley fan and i was so excited for this concert and when i got their there were all just little kids and half of them had HANNAH MONTANA shirts on!! and dont diss metro station!! you should have looked up and seen who metro station was before taking your daughter to this concert!! yeah their an emo band with some awesome songs!!! AND TRACE IS MILEYS BROTHER so it was great that she went on concert with him!!!! miley cyrus is a 17 year old TEENAGER who has one more season left of hannah montana and then shes done with the little fans who call her hannah!!!(thankgod!!) so dont blame anyone but your self for what you saw at this concert!! i thought it was perfect!!! miley has a great voice and she did great and SHE DRESSED JUST LIKE ANY OTHER 17 YEAR OLD GIRL DOES!!!! do u not walk around the beach during the summer!!! ive seen 250 pund women wearing what miley was wearing!! so dont go dissing miley just balme your self for not knowing that this was a MILEY CYRUS CONCERT!!!!!

My brother is one of her ten dancers and personaly i think she has made a bigger name for herself and this is not a little kid show anymore. for the parents who complain is dumb, Reason: research the tour before you take your little kid to the show before you start complaining about how it was to adult?? there was not all that much in this show that a 10 year old has not seen before. QUIT THE CRYING!!

THANK YOU miley fan!!!! you are totally right! i hate all these stupid moms who are mad at miley cyrus for her concert. that makes no sense! you cannot get mad at someone for their concert.. sorry for you but you wasted your own money SUCKS FOR YOU! it was a teenage show and every teenager that went loved it!

Okay, for all the ones who complain on what cloths Miley wear and how she has progressed HELLO!?! DO YOU THINK AT ALL?? You knew that it was a MILEY show and not a Hannah show… and I’m sorry to say this but HANNAH IS A CHARACTER ON A TV-SHOW. So please just stop complaining!! She isn’t a child anymore. She is 17 years old!! And please let the girl have her own life! If she want to have a wig and allot of makeup and crazy cloths or just want to be herself with her cloth stile well that’s up to her!! And if you should have read like a sentence about this tour you would see that Metro Station is going to be there. And if I had a kid who was, let’s say, 5 years old I would have checked who was going to be there and if you don’t like the fact that Trace has tattoos all over his body… WELL DON’T GO TO THE TOUR!!! PLEASE AREN’T YOU GUYS SUPPOSED TO BE ADULTS!! So can you act like it!?! Miley Cyrus Wonder World Tour Concert is for teenagers not kids and not grownups!! And if you don’t like Miley, well that’s your problem cause you will be missing our time, no what am I saying, ALL TIMES BEST SINGER AND ACTRESS!! Miley is going to be big!! Bigger than she is now and you all know that’s BIG!!

MILEY IS MILEY AND SHE HAS ALL RIGHT TO BE!! SO PLEASE JUST LET HER BE!! And for the ones who think that I’m wrong… please tell me…

I am going to see her in london tomorow, and to be quite honest i think that people who did not like the show are people who don’t understand that she is MILEY in real life, not hannah montana. It was always going to be a miley show, and parents complaining about metro station should have read the information about the tour before buying tickets. I agree that her brother is shocking, but to blame him for ruining the show is just stupid. I am so excited to see her, as are a lot of my friends, and i think Miley is an inspiration to millions of people, as well as being a genuinly nice person.

she is a slut bottom line,,,,and i hope she becomes like britney spears..she is a orrible role model for kids…she needs to go away

went with girlfriend last night and thought it was going to be crap, metro station surprised me and were very good, and when cyrus cam on, she was actually really good, nothing like what i thought (hannah montana) so i would go to see the show, as long as you understand it is not for kids under age 9, but is more like a real concert, e.g lily allen et pink, but still nowhere near the likes of avenged sevenfold or bring me the horizon

After seeing Miley last night in London i felt a bit robbed, but i didn’t know why and i still can’t put my finger on it. to me in some parts it felt like it was a chore for her to be there, i guess singing the same songs over and over for a few months can grate on a person. after reading some comments i think its safe to say that Miley has indeed grown up…go figure?! her voice is amazing and i hope she finds out what genre she wants to stick to cos the whole ‘i dont listen to pop music, its not my sort of thing but i’ll sing it anyway’ was a really stupid thing to say. She’s only 16/17 she deserves credit for the show not back handed comments about her brother having the most disgusting tattoos, which he does but thats not the point.

@Susan i agree with u she still has little kids likin her and she should of done this tour after hannah or wear more betterr clothes shes mi age group

@random isn’t it no shes not she just wants 2 be hrr self i know shes not i but she wears slutty clothes she wants 2 be like beyonce

@Kristina i agree with u she still has little kids likin her and she should of done this tour after hannah or wear more betterr clothes shes mi age group

@sarah no shes not she just wants 2 be hrr self i know shes not i but she wears slutty clothes she wants 2 be like beyonce

@natalie sorry i was meant 2 sent it 2 some 1 else

I have just seen the Miley Cyrus concert in Dublin Ireland last night. I brought my 5 year old daughter to the show and she loved it. She knows that Hanna Montana and Miley Cyrus are two different acts and she was not expecting to see Hanna. It is up to the parents to explain this to the younger childern before going to the concert. 5 minutes after the show started my daughter was up sing and danceing waving her glow stick. I found nothing in the show that was slutty or a bad role model for Kids. I am in my late 30’s and found it a great night entermant along with my daughter. The people on the site who have put this girl down for not playing Hanna Montana songs for their little angels or complaning about what Miley is wearing etc need to wise up. Or are a lot of the American public just to conservator.

shoulddd read the tickets before purchasing,, its MILEY not HANNNAH! GOING TO WATCH HER ON THE 28th SHOULD BE AMAZING 🙂

My husband and I took our daughters to see Miley in Lexington, Ky and we were all shocked…yes, we knew it wasn’t a Hannah Montanna concert, but with all the young fans there, why would her and her brother behave the way they did?..Taking his shirt off after they asked him not to was disrespectful not to mention innappropriate..Miley wore too revealing outfits and didn’t sound good at all. Her brother’s music was worse. I used to be a big Miley fan as my daughters were but after paying all this money to see a concert (their very first one)…then being disappointed, we were sorry we went. If only we could get a refund. We walked out after the pole dancing started…it felt as if we took our kids to a strip joint, which would be just insane…

the whole experience was amazing….the best concert anyone could ever go to!!! miley was amazing and i loved it all sooo much!!!!! it felt so cool to be like so close to a celebrity…its feels unreal!!!! miley rocks!!!!! xxx abz xxx

I’m an 18 year old fan and saw the London show tonight with my 17 year old brother. It was an incredible show and Miley proved she’s maturing into an amazing artist. It was definitely NOT a Hannah Montana show and was all the better for it. We were surrounded by under 12’s who knew none of the words to any of the songs apart from the singles (which suggests they’re not the ones buying Miley’s albums, just the HM soundtracks if any, so sales wise she won’t miss them as her music matures and they are left behind) and after a couple of songs most of them looked bored and disinterested with a couple of kids and parents even leaving before the end of the show. I feel the tour was a showcase for a budding artist and she’ll only continue to get better which is a pretty exciting thought.

The only bad point I can make is that it was way too short and felt like it went by in a flash. We’ll be buying tickets for her next tour without hesitation and hopefully we’ll see a lot more older fans there next time!

I went to see the concert at the O2 in London and it was amazing espeically when she was flying into the audience. I have always wanted to see her because she is my idol and i really want to be like her when i am older. Metro Station where really good aswell. A very good day and i will never forget it 🙂 xxx

i love mily cyrus i saw her on the wonder world tour she was amazing on the second show in bermingham but the frist show was not as good my frinds tell me.i liked it when she went on the moterbike well i loved every minite of the show .i liked it when it shown her looking like she was in water on the cube it was just amazing thank you so much miley for putting on a great show from you’re biggest fan lauren hill xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx p.s i love you’re dad and you’re sister and you’re two brothers there were lots of little ones there that loved it but some children were tired and fell asleep but i woke them up.

p.s i will never forget it .because I LOVED IT SO MUCH.

I am 14 years old and i went with one of my friends, i thought miley was amazing and it is the best concert i have ever been to. I dont think i will ever forget it 🙂

i am a girl that loves miley cyrus and i saw her concert 23rd december 09 and it was the best if poeple want to take there kids to see hannah they should not bey miley cyrus tickets i think ofr MILEY CYRUS it was the best frist concert in the world and i will be going again i love you miley cyrus

Im 10 and I went to see Miley last night i was realy supriesed of how good she was it was the best iv heard her sing and shes an amazing dancer her out fit she wore to sing bottem of the ocean was stunning .I tierd off every on dissing Miley i think she was amazing and people should give her a break!!!!

I am 17 and i went to see Miley last night in Manchester UK i was rather dissapointed with the concert. Some of it was amazing and then it would drop. Alot of the concert she was out of breth and therefore couldnt sing all of the song and kept missing out bits. At first i thought the microphone has broken. However it was very entertaining but she should have concentrated more on the singing than dancing all the time. I wouldnt take a young child to see the show by the way she was dressed and dancing. I saw Taylor Swift Last month and she was incredible i would recommend anyone to see her. I would love to see Miley again if it was cheaper im sorry to say it wasnt worth £60. Im still a Miley fan and always will be though 🙂

Not meaning to be rude to your comment about her but maybe you dont know what it is like to be at her age and able to sing. Neither do i but i was at this concert and i must say it was brilliant. Ok the vocals were not always as touched up as on the album, but thats what you get at a concert. Thats why we go. And the reason she was not hannah montana is that she wants to have a go at her singing career and thats good. So what she chose that style of dress sense. Also if you wanted to see hannah montana then go to a hannah montana concert. Because this is Miley, and thats how she is. And i paid £100 for a ticket and would pay it again. She chose different style of music because thats what she is and if you read her books you would know. I love miley and will stick by my point.

I loved this concert so much. i went to see her in Birmingham and would again and again. Shes amazing and anyone who disagrees should get there head checked. Say In your next message : Rosey I agree: if you agree with me!

@megan I went to see her on that date too! were u Birmingham?

@MileyRocks Hi i saw her too and i think the whole atmosphere of her running around and dancing is the partof it and i went with my little sister who seemed fine with the whole thing so….. sorry

Saw Miley in Manchester on Sunday nite and it woz amazin. Best concert ever!!!!!!

Hi, I’m from Scotland and I am a huge fan of Miley 🙂 So I travelled down to Manchester to see her perform on the 28th of December which was her 2nd last date of the Wonder World Tour. I thought the show was absolutely amazing 😀 Miley sang a great variety of music, and I agree with the review above about her not really knowing where she is going next with the mixture of pop, rock and ballads, but i think it is becoming clear that she wants to head in the rock n roll direction with her cover of I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll. I think although she sings ballads she shows a rock side to her when she sings them, I really love her newer song “Obsessed” and although she didnt write it, I think it could be very sucessfull if she released it :)I think Miley did not dissapoint fans like me who like her new music and are not looking for Hannah Montana although I wasnt impressed when she sand “Lets Get Crazy” and “Spotlight” , songs from the hannah montana movie. Its just going to encourage her younger fans that like her for Hannah Montana to keep following her, when she is trying to get rid of them :/ Its not that the songs werent good, i just would or prefered to have seen her sing “The Driveway” or “Goodbye” from her Breakout Album. Overall i think the performance was great and would go and see her again and again

I saw her in Manchester on the 28th ! i Think she was amazing . Best Concert ever . I am so sick of people being disapointed because she wasnt Hannah Montana but if you see how she advertised and her tickets it is Miley Cyrus concert and just Miley Cyrus there is nothing about Hannah Montana . I was very impressed with her concert.I Love rock and roll was amazing. Loved the hoe down throw down and party in the usa also 🙂 .. Over all it was class (:

@Rosey I wasnt saying she shouldnt run around and dance on the stage im saying that she should concentrate more on her singing people sitting at the back wouldnt have been able to see all of that but they would of been able to hear her. I loved the concert but im just saying it wasnt the best i have been to.

i went to see miley on the 27th dec and thought she was alright her costumes were alright but she spent all her time with her head down singing. come on miley show ur side of the idol we all see

im 17 nd i went 2 c miley cyrus on the 23rd at bimingham, i took my 2 little cousins, nd they absolutely loved it, i really enjoyed it too! im near enough the same age just a couple of months older, nd i could never be as energetic nd entertainin as miley, shes also a great role model, not onli for kids but for people my age, we can relate to her! I would definately go 2 see her in concert again!

You knew when you bought tickets that it was a Miley concert! She’s Hannah Montana no more, as much as I loved the program – shes 17 and shes not a little kid any more. It was stated that it was a MILEY concert – NOT HANNAH MONTANA. If you ask me, shes beautiful and I love the fact that she is appealing to older audiences and growing up (with herself and her music)!

@Rosey yeah i went to see her in brum to when did you go ?

I was not saying it in spite or anything its just my opinion on it all….

also im only saying how brilliant the concert was.

@lousie I went on thw 23rd of december

I am 10 years old and I went to see Miley Cyrus and she was awsome. I went to see it with my best friend and we loved her. I never thought she would be that good and as her clothing style changed so did her song style. I liked “Simple Song”, “The Climb” and “Bottom of the Ocean” she did it beautifully, and every part of it was worthwhile. I cried at the end not because I was sad because I couldn’t believe I was there. I went to her Best of Both Worlds Tour but this time she was really good and no Hannah Montana. I am really exicted that she introduced her new movie “The Last Song” I feel bad for the people who didn’t attend her concert. It was truly amazing.

I LOVE YOU MILEY!

Hi im 10 i saw miley at the o2 with my friend i thought she totaly rocked and my faverait song was party in the usa. it was my first conset and i will never forget it. i hope i can go and see her again

boy do i wish i could go to her concert i have never been to one 🙁 i realy want to go but i have no one to take me and it is to expensive. 🙁

ypu are so awsome can i have tickets?

i went in september on the 26th for my birthday when did you go? @lousie

I LOVE MILEY! and if she reafs this then i just want to let her know I LOVE HER SO MUCH!

To start with, I am what you can call a “Miley crazy fan”

To be frankly honest, I didn’t go to any of the concerts, due to the fact that she didn’t come anywhere near my town, but I have seen all the videos posted on the internet, and I have to say that you might have a point somewhere. Miley did shock most of the people in her “breakout”. In my opinion, what she’s trying to do is get out of this “Hannah” image, and tell people that she’s changing. One thing that caught my attention is when you mentioned that she didn’t sing her TV hit theme song, recognized as “The Best Of Both Worlds”. I do believe that one of the reasons is that it is a “Miley” tour, not “Miley and Hannah”, so she wanted the focus to be on HER sons not her tv show’s.

miley your awesome i went to see that concert with my dad and i sat right at the very top in the box. i hope i can see your concert again.love you my friends and i wish you good look in the future hope it goes well! chaw dude! love lozzyxxxxxxxxxx

wonder world tour 2009

I appreciate what she’s trying to do. I think it could have been done better. Will be VERY interesting to see what she does next. But don’t let any review change you from being a ‘Miley Crazed Fan’ 🙂

okay, what I am saying is I totally agree with you. not the girl who said it was not worth 60. my friend and her sister loved it, because they told me. and if enyone wants to see Hannah Montana instead of Miley Cyrus than go ahead , when she comes back. I wasn’t at the concert but I heard that it was amazing and evreyone that was at the wonder world tour concert would LOVE to go to another Miley Cyrus. and my friend even liked her better than Hannah Montana. and guy’s if you were at her concert and you didn’t like it and you wanted to see Hannah Montana than there’s alway’s another time.

I went on the 23rd of december she is simply the best i love you miley!!!!!!!!!

i wint to the concert it was the best and funnest thing on earth it was also becase i was a v.i.p

I can’t see why the critics don’t like miley’s latest song – I think it is fantastic.

I went to see miley in brum I thought she was gr8 however I did think that some of the younger fans might have been a little dissapointed she did nt seem like I thought shed seem

I LOVE MILEY! But I think see was a little grown up ……… 🙂

@katie well, she is 17 now, maybe she should be growing up. LET GO OF HANNAH MONTANA

What is the problem with Miley Cyrus latest sexy image? I think she is really hot!

It was AMAZING. It was the first consert I have ever gone to or remember because I did go to a Bruse Springstean consert When I was a Baby. Anyways I loved it!

p.s.I’m not sure if I spelled Bruse’s last name correct.

I AGREE THE SHOW WAS NOT A HANNAH MONTANNA CONCERT IT WAS A MILEY CYRUS CONCERT!! IM WHAT YOU CALL A NUMBER 1 MILEY FAN AND I SAW HER IN LONDON DECEMBER THE 13TH IT WAS AMAZING I LOVE FLY ON THE WALL!!!!!

i luv miley and she is such a gr8 rolemodel and i think she should be whatever she wants to be and her concert was amazing and i went on the 19th of december 09 i wish i could go again. 🙂

I love Miley Cyrus and his awesome voice!! Oh just rembering 10/15/09 Best Concert Ever Miley, Gotta Love Her.

@harprocks MILEY ROCKS Its me again!!! I think you rock and I would love to see you again plz do another concert this time in Derby Hall!!! Or Wolverhamton or somewhere close maybe Birmingham again!!! Love loads, harprocks XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I love Miley Cyrus, alright! And to the dude who wrote this article: you have no idea what your talking about! Miley Cyrus is an amazingly talented singer who works her butt off to pull off this tour! It was the BEST TOUR EVER!

i am a big fan I love your songs i can not wait will your conset in melboune i also like hannah montana i no u are the same person but if i could met on of u i would chose miley.

I’m going to Miley Cyrus’s concert in 2 day because she’s in Australia and I CAN’T WAIT!!!1

I don’t care if she’s changed. I will always love her and her image. If you think it’s bad that she’s changing, and that she’s not a good role model or whatever, then you’re definitely not a true fan! You were probably just a fake the whole time..

MILEY FOREVER!

I can’t WAIT!!!!!!!

What to Know About Disneyland's 100 Years of Wonder Celebrations in 2023

By Megan duBois

Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park

In 1923, the Walt Disney Company, then known as Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, was founded. In the almost 100 years since the company’s founding, it’s expanded to be a global empire with parks and resorts around the world, five  cruise ships—with three more on the way—and a handful of movie studios under its umbrella.

Starting January 27, 2023, those  traveling to the Disneyland Resort can experience the destination in a whole new way as it becomes the heart of the Disney 100 Years of Wonder celebration (Disney100), a Disney-wide celebration highlighting the past, present, and future of the brand. If you’re going to the Disneyland Resort after the festivities kick off, this is what you can expect.

An all-new Mickey’s Toontown is coming

One of the most beloved areas of Disneyland Park is Mickey’s Toontown . While the majority of the theme park land won’t reopen for guests until spring 2023, the new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction located inside Mickey’s Toontown will open on January 27, just in time for the start of Disney100.

The family-friendly attraction is similar to the ride of the same name at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. On the ride, guests hop aboard a train driven by Goofy and get taken into the cartoon world of Mickey Mouse and his pals, only to have a few hijinks ensue. One of the most significant changes to the Disneyland version of the attraction will be the queue—instead of highlighting different Mickey Mouse cartoons, it will be a tribute to the famous mouse with props and other memorabilia from his illustrious career.

While in the queue, be on the lookout for movie posters that feature Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Max, and more as the stars of other iconic Disney movies like "Goofy Friday," a take on  Freaky Friday , and "High School Goofical 3: Senior Year," which is a riff on the  High School Musical franchise film. As guests get closer to the pre-show of the attraction, there is a concession stand with fun nods to Disney characters, like Powerline-themed candy called Power Limes, and popcorn that's in the shape of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, as well as Donald Duck.

After riding on Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, families can enjoy some downtime in a new grassy area located near the attraction. This is a nice shady spot for munching on snacks or letting kids get some energy out by running around with other children.

The rest of Mickey’s Toontown will reopen on March 8, 2023. The reimagined space will be a great area of the park will be a great spot for families with younger kids to play together. One major addition will be CenTOONial Park, where there will be two interactive play experiences, one of which is a water table for a sensory experience and the other is the dreaming tree where kids can crawl and explore.

Near Goofy’s home is Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard, where there’s a sound garden and a new clubhouse. Inside Goofy’s house, there’s an interactive confectionary machine that looks like something out of a cartoon. And just outside is Donald Duck’s Boat, where children can run around and get some energy out in an all-new splash pad area.

When Toontown reopens, there will be two new eateries: Cafe Daisy, which will serve diner classics at a sidewalk table eatery, and a grab-and-go stand called the Toontown Farmers Market at Good Boy! Grocers. Though not much is known about it yet, there will also be a new family-friendly attraction called Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster inside the land. Of course, you’ll still be able to meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse inside their homes after a quick tour. And Disney fans will be glad to know that Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin will also be reopening.

New nighttime entertainment

Ending the night with fireworks is one of our favorite ways to enjoy a few final moments at Disneyland, and two new nighttime spectaculars are set to light up the sky. When Disney100 kicks off, so will a new nighttime spectacular called “Wondrous Journeys.” The show will feature nods to every Walt Disney Animation Studios film to date, and a heartwarming new song, “ It’s Wondrous .”

Guests will see Baymax from  Big Hero 6 and the Blue Fairy from  Pinocchio  fly across the sky above Sleeping Beauty Castle during the show.

Along with the new theme song and flying characters, the show will feature new renditions of popular Disney songs from the movies that are featured in the show. "We found 16 songs to tell our story that are woven throughout the show," says Tricia Holloway, global head of music for Walt Disney Imagineering. The songs use newly recorded vocals just for the show, and a large orchestra of over 80 musicians to enhance the already popular lyrics for "Wondrous Journeys."

No matter where guests stand around Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle—at the facade of “it’s a small world,” or the Rivers of America—they will be surrounded by state-of-the-art projection effects that bring famous Disney characters to life.

"Every time you come, you can see something different depending on where you're standing, so it's really one of those shows that you want to come back and see again and again to find that thing that you saw on one place that you didn't see on another," says Holloway. According to Walt Disney Imagineering, the storyline and the music is the same no matter where you watch the show, but what is projected on the facades of buildings is different.

"From day one, we were able to plan for all four of those projection areas, which made it more complicated, but also gave us the opportunity to say 'We don't have to get all 61 movies on the castle because we also have Main Street, we also have ["it's a small world"]," says Roger Gould, creative director, Walt Disney Animation Studios. "I would say if you really just want to lean into the story "it's a small world" is fantastic, and Rivers of America is also beautiful and [has] the best audio."

Most nights the show will just be projections and music, but on select nights (mostly weekends) the show will also include fireworks.

Across the Esplanade at Disney California Adventure, “World of Color—One” will highlight the storytelling legacy of Walt Disney. The show will tell an entirely new story that will show off courageous and inspiring Disney characters, with the show’s concept art displaying characters like Mirabel from  Encanto , Mufasa and Simba from  The Lion King , and Miguel from  Coco . With the new show comes a new original song, “Start a Wave.”

What's most impressive about World of Color—One is the soundscape that literally puts viewers in the middle of the action. "We can send any sound to any speaker in our entire rig, which is in 5.1 surround [sound]," says KC Wilderson, principal media designer. During a scene featuring Mulan, there is a thunderous noise that sweeps across the viewing area for the show, which goes along with the avalanche scene from the film, allowing guests to feel the intensity of the moment. "There are all of these different audio 'Easter eggs' depending on where you are watching the show," he explains.

Starting February 24, the daytime parade, “Magic Happens,” will glide down Main Street, U.S.A. again. The parade was only shown for a few days before Disneyland closed due to the pandemic, so guests are clamoring to see the parade again. Of course, no celebration is complete without new party outfits. When Disney100 launches, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and all their pals will don new platinum-inspired costumes.

New merchandise and Sleeping Beauty Castle decorations

There’s nothing like seeing Sleeping Beauty Castle for the first time on a trip to Disneyland. During Disney100, the castle is getting some shimmering decor featuring the three Good Fairies and their pixie dust from  Sleeping Beauty . The castle will also be adorned with platinum banners and bunting. On either side of the castle moat, there will be fountains, and at the very top of the center spire, there will be a golden wishing star. Guests will also find the new platinum decor throughout the resort, including the Downtown Disney District and the three Disneyland hotels.

Around the Disneyland Resort, visitors will also have the opportunity to try some new food and beverage offerings, many of which feature the purple and platinum color scheme of the entire celebration. Fans of the cream cheese-filled pretzels can find an upgraded version, the violet pretzel, at Refreshment Corner at Disneyland Park. The stuffed pretzel is drizzled with salted vanilla cream and lavender sugar. Another sweet treat not to miss is the lemon tea cake, which is available at multiple locations around Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. The tea cake is a nod to Walt Disney, as it was one of his favorite desserts to enjoy.

No Disney celebration would be complete without collectible souvenir cups and popcorn buckets. For Disney100, there are a few options, the cutest of which is a Mickey Mouse sipper, which looks just like the iconic mouse in his new purple and platinum Disney100 outfit.

Those who want to take a piece of the celebration home with them can find Disney100 merchandise throughout the resort. The Disney100 collection features apparel, home goods, toys, and more. Kids will love the plush Mickey and Minnie Mouse toys, where the characters are wearing their new Disney100 ensembles. Ear hats and headbands are also available, and feature sparkling platinum ears. One of the most exciting collections is Disney100 The Eras Collection, which is debuting in three parts: Walt Disney Studios, Disneyland, and a yet-to-be-announced collection. The Walt Disney Studios and Disneyland collections feature mugs, pins, sweatshirts, and more, celebrating the legacy of the iconic company.

Here Is How Much It Costs To Visit Every Wonder Of The World

Many people dream about visiting the seven wonders of the world, which are spread over different countries; here's how much it would cost.

Quick Links

Great wall, china, taj mahal, india, christ the redeemer, brazil, colosseum, rome, chichén itzá, mexico, machu picchu, peru, petra, jordania.

The Pyramids of Giza are the only Wonders of the Ancient World still standing today . Luckily, a Swiss Foundation has decided to update the list and select the Wonders of the Modern World based on people's opinions. The successful campaign collected over 100 million votes through the internet and SMS. They announced the results in 2007, and the title helped to improve tourism as many people have the goal to visit all Wonders of the World.

For most people, visiting those locations takes many years, as they are spread over many countries and continents. The price for visiting the Wonders of the World differs, so planning is essential. Here is how much each attraction costs.

The Great Wall of China stretches over 13,000 miles, and it's impossible to visit everything. For tourists, the main areas of the Great Wall are in Beijing , and they should focus on Badaling, Mutianyu, Jinshanling, Simatai, Juyongguan, and Jiankou.

Luckily, it is easy to reach the place by bus, taxi, or train.

The best time to visit is during the spring when the green vegetation surrounds the Great Wall. Autumn is also a great season to go. Yet, tourists still visit the place year-round.

The price depends on which city travelers decide to visit: Gubeikou is the cheapest, and the prices are approximately $3. Many travelers choose to hire guided tours, which tend to cost more.

  • Price: CNY25-65 ($3-$9 USD)

Taj Mahal is arguably the world's most famous mausoleum, and it became a symbol of love. The impressive ivory-white marble building was built for the emperor's favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, and it's considered an Indo-Islamic masterpiece of architecture.

Indeed, the Taj Mahal is second to none regarding architecture.

The remains of Mumtaz Mahal and her husband are still there. When visiting the Taj Mahal, travelers should avoid entering it when it's still foggy.

In this case, the best decision is to wait a few hours.

  • Price: Foreigner visitors - 1,100 Rs ($13 USD)

Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer in English) is arguably Brazil's most important landmark. This 128 feet statue overlooking the city receives approximately two million visitors per year.

The best time to visit it is at 8 a.m., as it is still not crowded with tourists yet.

Another essential thing to consider before visiting it is the weather: One of the best parts of visiting the Cristo is its privileged view of the city, so avoid going on cloudy days.

The lines to purchase the tickets can be endless, so buying the tickets online is recommended .

  • Price: children - R$ 60 children (approximately $11 USD), adults - R$109 (approximately $20 USD)

The Colosseum, the most famous Roman amphitheater, was built between C.E. 70 and 72 and hosted the iconic gladiator events, which used to entertain citizens back then.

The place had enough room for 50,000 people, but it started to ruin when the Western Roman Empire lost its power. Several natural disasters, including earthquakes, also hit it.

The site was restored during the 20th century, and it became one of Rome's main attractions, and it always seems to have an endless line.

The best time to visit is early morning (around 8:30 a.m.) or two hours before it closes.

  • Price: Starts at 16.00€ or $16U SD per person

Described as " the most impressive archaeological site in the Yucatan Peninsula ," the Chichén Itzá is an ancient Maya City stretching over four miles.

Some researchers believe it used to be a political, religious, and military site, once home to 35,000 people. The most impressive spots are the pyramid and the sacred Cenote.

People can visit Chichén Itzá year-round, but to avoid the crowds, they should consider traveling in May, June, September, and October. It's a large area, so visitors can easily spend the whole day there, but those who aren't history fans need only a few hours.

  • Price: $571 MXN (approximately $28 USD)

The Inca citadel is perched in the Eastern Cordillera of southern Peru and was reportedly built during the 15th century. Located on the top of a mountain and surrounded by nature, it attracts tourists thanks to its architecture and historical legacy.

RELATED: If You Don't Want To Hike Machu Picchu, Visit Ollantaytambo

There are many theories about the citadel, and the mystery makes the place even more fascinating. While some believe it was an administrative center, others claim it was supposed to be a mausoleum.

Tourists can reach Machu Picchu by van, train, or hiking . As a limited number of people can enter the place every day, purchasing the tickets in advance is highly recommended .

  • Price: 152 Soles ($37 USD)

Petra was the capital of the ancient Nabataean Empire and was an important location between 400 BC and 106 AD. The city had a different name among its original citizens : Raqemo and the Nabataean descendants still live in the region.

Nowadays, Petra is still fascinating and attracts tourists from across the globe.

As there is still a lot to see in the ancient city, many travelers decide to purchase two or three-day tickets. The best time to visit is early in the morning.

  • Price: 1 day - 50 JOD ($70 USD) | 2 days - 55 JOD ($77 USD) | 3 days - 60 JOD ($84 USD)

Artist’s impression of the Hanging Gardens at the Royal Palace in Babylon

Claire Ellis

Artist’s impression of the Hanging Gardens at the Royal Palace in Babylon

Tour the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World

Thousands of years ago, travelers recorded the impressive sights they would see on their journeys. Seven of these made history as the Wonders of the Ancient World. Only the Great Pyramids of Giza still stand; the other sites were destroyed by fires, earthquakes, or looting. But experts can still give you a fascinating look into these architectural marvels.

You can visit the sites of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World in the Eastern Mediterranean with a private jet charter and tour in ultimate comfort, on your own schedule. Let’s take a look at each of them.

1. The Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt

Sunset at the Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt

From Johnny Ward of One Step 4Ward :

“The six Pyramids of Giza are located in Cairo, Egypt. The largest of these, the Great Pyramid, was commissioned by, and built for, king Khufu. The pyramids were constructed around 4,500 years ago, with the Great Pyramid built around 2,550BC. Other pyramids and the Sphinx were built by subsequent pharaohs. The sheer size of these constructions – in light of the lack of technology in ancient times – has shrouded the methodology used to build them in mystery. The Great Pyramid of Giza was the largest man-made structure in the entire world until the 14th century. It consists of more than two million individual stones in its outer structure.

“From the capital city of Cairo, the pyramids are only about 15km (9 miles) away. There are a number of options to get there – it’s possible to get a private taxi, public bus or one of many shuttle buses to reach the pyramids. A ticket is required to visit the pyramids and you can buy these at the entry/security kiosk to the site. If you have pre-booked an organised tour, the ticket will usually be included in the cost of the tour.

“Egypt has only two seasons: a very hot summer between May and October, and a mild winter from November to April. In the summer, the weather can be very hot, and the weather during the winter is much more pleasant. Therefore, it’s a good idea to visit directly after summer finishes, or at any time during the milder winter period.”

A private charter flight to Cairo International Airport (CAI) limits your exposure to other passengers, and is by far the most comfortable way to travel. You can get a private jet quote in no time at all. Then once you’re in Cairo, book a private helicopter flight to discover some of the historic city’s amazing sights and landmarks, before heading over to the Great Pyramid of Giza. It’s an incredible sight to behold, especially from the air.

2. Hanging Gardens of Babylon

Painting of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon against a blue sky

It’s believed that 6th-century Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar built tiered gardens of hanging trees and plants around his palace for his wife, who missed the lush vegetation of her homeland of Media in northwestern Iran. The palace and gardens are said to have been destroyed by earthquakes, but archaeologists and historians doubt their existence without any physical or literary proof. The first descriptions of the gardens were recorded by Greek scholars, who mention their location as the center of ancient Babylon, near what is now Hillah in Iraq.

The gardens’ ‘wonder’ factor is said to come from the intricate irrigation system that brought water from the river Euphrates to the gardens in an area that was, and still is, completely arid. All that’s left today of this ancient wonder of the world is parts of Nebuchadnezzar’s palace and some of the old city walls.

The best way to get to the ruins of ancient Babylon is to book an aircraft charter to Baghdad International Airport (BGW). From there, take a taxi south towards Hillah, in central Iraq. The area is open to tourists, but check your Government’s official travel advice policy before undertaking trips to Babylon. No tickets are needed to view the site.

The best time of year to go to Iraq is between November and April, when temperatures are milder compared to the summer months, with temperatures ranging between 16-21°C.

3. Statue of Zeus at Olympia

Golden Statue of Zeus at Olympia

From The Fairytale Traveler :

“The Statue of Zeus at Olympia was built around 435BC, and was crafted by an Athenian sculptor named Phidias. It was created in honor of the most powerful and mightiest Greek God and the father of the Olympic Games, Zeus. Sadly, the statue is no longer there, and the circumstances of its loss and destruction are not truly known, but there are myths around what might have happened. Some say it was damaged by fire; others say it was ordered to be taken down. Either way, all that remains of the site now are rocks and debris. Olympia today is a small town in Elis on the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece.

“As there’s no airport in Olympia, you’ll need to drive from Patras (Araxos Airport; GPA) or Athens International (ATH). The Patra airport operates only in summer and is a small private jet charter airport and budget flight airport. Athens is bigger, and handles domestic and international flights all year round. From either city you can take the bus to Olympia or rent a car and drive there. The temple is at the corner of Amalias and Vasilisis Olgas.

“Tickets can be bought on site, at a cost of €12 ($14.40), and the site is open daily from 08:00 to 17:00. The busy season in Greece starts April (spring season), and ends in late October (fall season). I always tell people to hit a destination at the start or end of its busy season to get the best weather without the crowds.”

4. Temple of Artemis at Ephesus

Columned Temple of Artemis at Ephesus

From Epicure and Culture :

“When visiting the ancient site of Ephesus in Turkey, there are a few buildings to see of particular importance. One of these is the once-gorgeous marble Temple of Artemis, dating back to the mid 6th century BC. It was dedicated to Artemis, the goddess of wilderness and fertility, though today all that remains are its columns and base. Still, with this framework, it’s easy to picture just how magnificent and important this building was.

“When I visited, I took a tour from Kusadasi (a large resort town on Turkey’s Aegean coast), and found that it was the main hub for visiting the ancient site, and there is no shortage of tour operators there. Many cruise ships also dock here and offer passengers tours to Ephesus.

“To enter Ephesus is 40 Turkish lira, though entrance to the Temple of Artemis is free. There are many local tour companies running excursions, and I recommend using one of them, as you won’t need to worry about transportation, can get other local experiences included and gain a better understanding of what exactly you’re looking at.

“The best time to visit Ephesus is spring (April and May) and fall (October and November), as this is when the weather is mildest. If you visit in summer – like I did – make sure to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and lots of water so you don’t get dehydrated.”

5. Mausoleum at Halicarnassus

Towering Mausoleum at Halicarnassus

This tomb was built by Greek architects around 353BC to entomb the remains of the Persian King Mausolus and his wife, Artemisia. The tomb, standing 135 feet tall, was placed on a hill that overlooks the ancient city of Halicarnassus, near modern-day Bodrum in Turkey. It includes elaborate statues and columns, decorated with marble and gold. The mausoleum was destroyed by earthquakes between the 12th and 15th centuries, and only its foundation remains today. Since its structure is so ornate, the term ‘mausoleum’ was coined to refer to any impressive above-ground tomb.

The best way to get to Bodrum is to fly to Istanbul. Istanbul Airport (IST), Istanbul Atatürk Airport (ISL), and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW) all accommodate private plane and charter flights, with SAW offering a separate private aviation terminal for smooth discreet transfers from your private plane rental to ground transport.

From there, you can take another flight or a bus to Bodrum. The archeological site is usually open Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 17:00, and a ticket of 8 YTL (about $1) is required to enter the site.

The best time of year to visit the site is between November and April, when the temperature is moderate, between 16-25°C. Summers are very hot, and temperatures can reach a high of 35°C.

6. Colossus of Rhodes

Colossus of Rhodes with flaming torch

From David’s Been Here :

“The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek titan-god of the sun, Helios. It was erected in the city of Rhodes, on the island of the same name (the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese islands), by Charles of Lindos in 280BC. It was constructed to celebrate Rhodes’ victory over the ruler of Cyprus, Antigonus I Monophthalmus, whose son unsuccessfully besieged it in 305BC. Before its destruction in the earthquake of 226BC, the Colossus of Rhodes stood more than 98 feet (30 meters) high, making it one of the tallest statues in the ancient world.

“The best way to get to Rhodes Town is by flying from Athens to Rhodes Island, which has its own international airport (RHO). You do not need tickets to see the site.

“The best time of year to go to the Colossus of Rhodes is April through October. The weather is mildest in April, May, September and October. June, July and August are extremely hot.”

7. Lighthouse of Alexandria

Lighthouse of Alexandria surrounded by lightning and stormy seas

The Lighthouse of Alexandria, also known as the Pharos of Alexandria, was built in the Hellenistic period around 250BC at the mouth of the harbor in Alexandria – a Mediterranean port city in Egypt – to guide sailors home. It measured between 383ft and 450ft high (117m and 137m), and was built with a light-colored stone. A mirror at the top reflected the sunlight during the day, while a fire was lit at night to give off light. The lighthouse was destroyed by three earthquakes between 956 and 1323, and remained a ruin until 1480, when stones on the site were reused to build Fort Qaitbay on the same site.

The best way to get to Alexandria is to fly to the main airport, Borg El Arab Airport (HBE), which has a runway that can accommodate even heavy private jets, if you’re traveling in a larger group. From here you can take a taxi, train or bus to the harbor. Car hire is also available from $40/day. As the 15th-century fort is now a maritime museum, entrance costs around $35 for adults.

The best time to visit Alexandria is between the spring months of March through June, and the fall months of September through November. It’s best to avoid Alexandria in summer, when locals come to the town in droves to escape the heat of Cairo.
