Great show maybe not the best venue though.....

The show was great! They played for an hour and a half with no opener, just Weezer. Which for the price of the ticket was ok by me! The only issue I had was with the venue they chose to do this at. I understand they want to do a low key, small event, which is great! But then they maybe shouldn't have sold as many tickets as they did. There was people who couldn't even enter the actual venue room and had to stay out in the hall. I was lucky enough to get a spot inside the room, but even then, we were all packed like sardines. I understand it's a concert, it's gonna get a little tight, but this was a little ridiculous. The Constellation Room was great! Just maybe next time, sell a little less tickets, so everyone can enjoy the show.

My first time in the pit and I got front row! Never been so close and saw one of my favorite bands! I liked when we were waiting in line at the metal detectors that the workers pre-scanned our tickets and gave us wristbands to make entry that much easier. Thank you Choctaw and thank you Weezer for an amazing concert! Definity top 3 concert in my lifetime

Live show was awesome

I bought these tickets for my husband's Christmas present. I'm a fan of Weezer, but not like he is. They played their heart out. You can tell they enjoy playing together. Better live than any album.

This was incredibly fun event

this was the first time to go concert for Weezer and also the first visit to US from Japan and it was really nicer concert ever I had. Love Weezer!

They played the hits and then some. Sound quality was mostly great but the “harder” songs like Hash Pipe really stood out.

Weezer ROCKED!

Weezer always puts on an excellent show and tonight was exceptionally fantastic! They sounded incredible and it looked like they were having a great time! This show was essentially an extension of the shows played across the country for their Indie Rock Road Trip (I attended 2 of those summer shows and still wanted more of them so I was excited for this show!) When you get Only in Dreams and The Greatest Man That Ever Lived played back to back in a show, you are always going to leave happy! Rivers, Brian, Scott, and Pat were all perfect on their respective instruments. Vocals were beautiful and clear. In addition to the show, the venue was great and had an intimate feel. All the staff working the show were professional and friendly! It was the perfect way to close out 2023 for me (a few days early)! If given the opportunity to see Weezer, the answer is always GO SEE THEM!!!! Incredible show!!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tweezer was amazing at Choctaw grand theater. Best venue I’ve been to in a while. Great sound, intimate atmosphere. Perfect show!

Indie Rock Roadtrip, the upcoming 30-date tour from Weezer , will hit the road this summer with a cast of bands including Modest Mouse , Future Islands, Spoon , Momma , Joyce Manor , and White Reaper.

With Weezer headlining, two bands will join the lineup each night — with the exception of a stop in Gary, Indiana — from June through September. Modest Mouse will be paired with Momma, Future Islands will be paired with Joyce Manor, and Spoon will be paired with White Reaper.

Weezer Announce Tour Dates With Spoon, Modest Mouse, Future Islands, and More

Weezer will hit the road this year, plotting their first dates since announcing , and canceling , a Broadway residency last year. Billed as Weezer’s Indie Rock Roadtrip!, the tour features Spoon , Modest Mouse , and Future Islands on select dates, with Joyce Manor , Momma , or White Reaper opening. Check out the schedule below.

Weezer’s latest releases were a string of seasonal—or Sznz —EPs: Spring , Summer , Autumn , and, Winter . Their last album, Van Weezer , arrived in 2021. The Broadway run, the band admitted, was canceled “due to low ticket sales and unbelievably high expenses.”

What's better than going to an 'Island In The Sun'? Seeing Weezer live this year as they celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut LP, 'The Blue Album'! American alternative rock band Weezer formed in 1992, and since then has created 15 studio albums with no plans of slowing down. The new tour will be accompanied by special guests The Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr. as support. You can expect to see them playing The Blue Album in full as well as fan favorites.

The single, 'Buddy Holly', which was featured on their self-titled debut album, was nominated at the MTV Video Music Awards and won four, including Best Alternative Video' and Breakthrough Video'. Their 2022 release is a four-series collection, each named after all the seasons, or SZNZ' as spelt on the album covers, inspired by the composer Vivaldi.

Weezer announce huge North America Indie Rock Road Trip! tour

Weezer are hitting the road with Spoon, Modest Mouse, Future Islands, Joyce Manor, Momma and White Reaper at select dates.

After cancelling their planned Broadway residency shows due “low ticket sales and unbelievably high expenses”, Weezer have just announced a huge new batch of North America tour dates.

The band’s upcoming Indie Rock Road Trip! tour will see them hit the road with Spoon, Modest Mouse, Future Islands, Joyce Manor, Momma and White Reaper at select dates.

They’ll be playing a few festival shows both before and afterwards, but the Indie Rock Road Trip! tour will officially kick off with Modest Mouse and Momma in Huntsville, AL on June 4, and wrap up in San Diego, CA with Spoon and White Reaper on September 3.

Weezer’s 2023 live shows are currently planned up until September 17, when they play Asbury Park, NJ’s Sea.Hear.Now Festival. Frontman Rivers Cuomo also tweeted yesterday that he’s “just finished up the first few demos for album 20”.

Weezer have announced a massive summer tour of North America. The Indie Rock Roadtrip kicks off on June 4 at The Orion Amphitheater in Alabama and wraps up on September 3 at Gallagher Square at Petco Park in California. Special guests for the trek will be Spoon, Modest Mouse, Future Islands, Momma, Joyce Manor, and White Reaper all on select dates.

Weezer is hitting the road for their 2023 “Indie Rock Roadtrip” tour, and tickets guarantee you access to some of the namesake genre’s biggest acts ( get tickets here ). For a band that’s already proven they know how to assemble a star-filled lineup and also quite literally set their summers on fire , the SZNZ quartet have still managed to outdo themselves with a roster including Modest Mouse , Spoon , Future Islands , and more.

What Is Weezer’s Next Tour?

The 30-city “Indie Rock Roadtrip” tour launches in Huntsville, Alabama on June 4th, followed by southern dates in Austin, Oklahoma City, and more. In the Midwest, Weezer plays dates including Minneapolis and Madison, Wisconsin before heading east to Maryland, North Carolina, and Georgia. They headline Philadelphia’s TD Pavilion on June 27th and close out the month in Bangor, Maine.

Weezer opens July in Worcester, Massachusetts, then stops in Canandaigua, New York on July 3rd. They’ll spend July 4th in Toronto and return stateside for a show in Gary, Indiana on July 9th. Following a stop in Pittsburgh on July 11, the California quartet performs at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium on July 13th.

The band breaks for a month before resuming in Auburn, Washington on August 20th. They travel down the West Coast to Bend, Oregon and Berkeley, then hit Magna, Utah; Denver; Phoenix; and Las Vegas. After a performance in Irvine, California, the “Indie Rock Roadtrip” tour reaches its final destination in San Diego on September 3rd.

Who Is Opening for Weezer on Tour?

Weezer will be in good company on their summer “Indie Rock Roadtrip” tour. The band first embarks with Modest Mouse and Momma in June, then switches passengers toward the end of the month for Future Islands and Joyce Manor . In August, they’ll be accompanied by Spoon and White Reaper .

How Can I Get Tickets for Weezer’s 2023 Tour?

Weezer tickets will be available in two waves for members of the band’s Fan Club starting Wednesday, March 1st at 10:00 a.m. local time. Next, a Live Nation pre-sale will open on Thursday, March 2nd at 10:00 a.m. local time (use access code CHORUS ), along with a Spotify pre-sale and various venue-specific offers that same a day.

General public on-sale opens on Friday, March 3rd at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster .

Weezer Announce Summer Tour with Your Favorite Indie Rock Bands

"Indie Rock Roadtrip" features Modest Mouse, Spoon, Future Islands, and more

Weezer have announced the “Indie Rock Roadtrip,” a 30-date summer tour alongside Modest Mouse , Spoon , Future Islands , Joyce Manor , White Reaper , and Momma .

The tour is divided up into three legs, with Weezer first linking up with Modest Mouse and Momma beginning in early June. Towards the end of the month, Future Islands and Joyce Manor will take over as Rivers Cuomo and co.’s main support. Finally in August, Weezer will hit the road for shows with Spoon and White Reaper. Weezer Announces 2023 'Indie Rock Roadtrip' Tour

Weezer recently announced a 30-date summer tour, called the "Indie Rock Roadtrip."

Modest Mouse , Spoon , Future Islands , Joyce Manor , White Reaper , and Momma will share the stage with the rock band on select dates.

The tour will kick off in Huntsville, Alabama, on June 4, with Modest Mouse and Momma joining Weezer for the first leg.

Future Islands and Joyce Manor will support the band led by Rivers Cuomo for the second leg, beginning on June 23.

The third and final leg begins on August 20 with the support of Spoon and White Reaper.

"Pack your bags, it's time for an indie rock road trip we're taking the show on the road all summer long and we're bringing modest mouse, future islands, spoon, momma, Joyce manor, and white reaper along for the ride (all on select dates)," the band announced on their web site.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

This fall, Weezer are bringing celebrating the Blue Album by playing it in full on tour . Earlier this week, though, the indie-rock royalty reflected on other moments in their career by performing a bunch of rarities, plus a cover of Hole’s “Celebrity Skin.”

At a pop-up show at The Observatory in Santa Ana on Monday, Weezer opened the gig with “Cleopatra” from 2014’s Everything Will Be Alright In The End . It was their first time playing it since 2016. They performed “Eulogy For A Rock Band” for the first time since 2015; “Anonymous” for the first time since 2014; “The Angel And The One” for the first time since 2013; “Dope Nose” and “Slave” for the first time since 2016.

Along with a handful of Blue Album and Pinkerton cuts, they also played “Here Comes The Rain,” “Bird With a Broken Wing,” “Everything Happens For A Reason,” and “Mirror Image” for the first time in front of an audience. A live debut was given to “Any Friend Of Diane’s” and “Sheila Can Do It.” They closed the show with “Celebrity Skin” (is there a better way to end a set?). Watch footage from the night below.

Watch Weezer cover Hole and play set of rare songs in California ahead of ‘Blue Album’ tour

The band played six songs from their back catalogue for the first time ever in front of an audience

Weezer played a set of rarities at a one-off show in Santa Ana, California last week, as well as a cover of Hole ’s ‘Celebrity Skin’. Check out footage below.

The show came ahead of their upcoming ‘Voyage To The Blue Planet’ North American tour , which takes place in September and October, and celebrates the 30th anniversary of their self-titled 1994 debut album, commonly known as ‘The Blue Album’.

The band will play the record in full at the shows and have also promised rarities and “very special guests”. They will be supported by The Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr . Find any remaining tickets here .

Some of those rarities appeared to get an early airing at the show at the Constellation Room in Santa Ana on April 29, where they played six songs from their back catalogue for the first time in front of an audience.

‘Sheila Can Do It’ from 2021’s ‘ Van Weezer ’, ‘Everything Happens For a Reason’, ‘Here Comes the Rain’, ‘Bird With a Broken Wing’ and ‘Mirror Image’ from 2021’s ‘ OK Human ’, and ‘Any Friend of Diane’s’ from 2017’s ‘ Pacific Daydream ’ all graced a Weezer setlist for the first time.

They also played Hole’s 1998 classic ‘Celebrity Skin’ as an encore. Check out footage below:

In another warm-up show in March at Los Angeles’ Lodge Room, Weezer were joined by Dominic Fike for a performance of the classic hit ‘Say It Ain’t So’ . Keanu Reeves’ band Dogstar were the opening act.

NME spoke to Rivers Cuomo last year about building his new Discord community for his fans, saying that while his fans may predate the platform, they seem to have shared the same musical values over time: “Our musical tastes are very consistent even from the ’90s, really,” Cuomo said.

“We all still like super emotional songs with great melodies that are catchy and yet somewhat progressive and challenging and complex musically. We like big guitars and weird lyrics. It’s still true.”

The relic is a bone fragment that is encased in a wooden reliquary carved in the form of an arm appearing to give a blessing; Catholic Church officials say the bone piece was separated several centuries ago from St. Jude Thaddeus’ remains laid to rest at St. Peter’s Basilica.

St. Jude the Apostle, a cousin of Jesus, is one of the most venerated of the saints and is one “people turn to when desperate, having tried everything else, feeling lost or hopeless,” church officials said.

And in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, officials hope the relic’s pilgrimage to the United States will offer comfort, Fr. Carlos Martins, who organized the tour that is passing through more than 100 American cities, said in a statement.

“Many still grieve a loved one claimed by the virus, numerous folks suffer the effects of long COVID and other pandemic-related medical conditions. Long-term isolation has led to depression for many and deterioration in mental health,” he said. “The Apostle’s visit is an effort by the Catholic Church to give comfort and hope to all who need it.”

A large crowd is expected at the Christ Cathedral on Tuesday, April 30, where the relic will be on display from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Diocese of Orange officials said. On Wednesday, May 1, it will be on display at Sts. Simon & Jude Catholic Church in Huntington Beach from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in La Habra, during the same hours.

During Monday’s visit to Santiago de Compostela Catholic Church in Lake Forest, Fr. Al Baca, director of the diocese’s Office of Ecumenism and Inter-religion, which is sponsoring the event, said he saw people of all ages in the long line that had formed as people waited their turn to stand before the large glass case holding the wooden reliquary.

Many bowed their foreheads toward the relic, placing their hands to the glass. They held prayer cards, rosaries, photos of loved ones and other items to the glass to receive a blessing.

“It is really quite beautiful,” Baca said. “It is really inspiring.

“When you are talking about a saint like St. Jude, people know this is the cousin of Jesus,” he added. “That just brings it home, because it is what they know from the Bible.”

The relic will also visit an Armenian orthodox church while in Orange County, Baca said. Sharing the opportunity was another reason he said he asked for permission to invite the tour to stop here.

“Like us, they venerate the saints and they believe that relics are a tangible channel of God’s grace and healing,” he said.

Melannie Rivamonte said she couldn’t afford to travel to visit holy sites, but this brought an opportunity closer to home. As she bowed her head in veneration before the display, she held several photographs in her hand.

“I thought of a lot of people I wanted to pray for,” she said. “A lot of people in my family, a lot of people who passed away already, and also for myself.”

Steve Rapp visited the Lake Forest church from Hemet.

“I’ve worn St. Jude medals almost all my life,” he said, his voice catching as he described how “very special” the visit had been for him. “This is as close on this earth I’m ever going to get to Jesus. It’s very, very moving and very important to us.”

The Newport Beach Police Department will host a mobile cafe later this month on May 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Java Bakery Cafe on Bayside Drive.

Community members are invited to the event to have conversations with local law enforcement to raise concerns and get to know their officers.

Laguna Art Museum hosts event for new moms

On May 16, new mothers are being invited to join others in the community at the Laguna Art Museum from 9 to 10 a.m. to enjoy the museum before doors open to the public.

Attendees will be able to learn from professionals about post-natal recovery and baby care and are encouraged to bring yoga mats for babies to lay on.

Take a tour of Costa Mesa’s Segerstrom Center for the Arts May 15

Members of the nonprofit South Coast Metro Alliance are offering visitors a chance to see the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in a whole new light during a docent-led walking tour that takes place May 15 at 10 a.m.

The tour will take participants to areas rarely seen by the general public, including lobby spaces and the grand stage of Segerstrom Hall, as docents share their favorite facts, stories and history surrounding the celebrated Costa Mesa arts complex.

Calling all competitors — it’s time for 2024 O.C. Fair competition entries

Organizers of the annual Orange County Fair are calling on all artists, growers and creators interested in entering the fair’s annual competitions, as entry deadlines are fast approaching.

People of all ages are invited to showcase their talents by submitting entries into more than 20 competition categories, including visual arts, culinary, home arts and hobbies, wine, horticulture and livestock. Separate divisions and competitions are available for youth-only entries.

Deadlines for entries vary by competition and may be viewed, along with competition guidelines, at ocfair.com/competitions . The site offers rules, regulations, important dates and entry fees, where applicable.

Irvine Ranch Conservancy celebrates wildflowers

In commemoration of National Wildflower Week, Irvine Ranch Conservancy plans a “Wildflower Takeover” on the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks’ Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages from May 5 through May 11. Posts will feature images and information about native wildflower species found on the landmarks, including cobweb thistle, longleaf bush lupine, southern bush monkey flower, California buckwheat, California goldfields, purple owl’s clover and black sage.

The nonprofit conservancy supports stewardship of Irvine’s natural landmarks and offers guided programs that include hiking, mountain biking, horse-back riding and more.
