Where are the best places in atlanta to spot celebrities.

Thanks to Atlanta’s status as one of the country’s largest filming hubs (not to mention the thriving music industry and our pro sports teams), it’s not too difficult to have a celebrity encounter. Movie and TV stars are known to stay near Ponce City Market, and it and Krog Street Market have become major star-sighting spots in the past few years. Many actors who arrive in Atlanta to shoot films—think Jon Hamm, Helen Mirren, Robert Downey Jr., Gabrielle Union, Jennifer Lawrence, and Ed Helms , among others—also frequently stay in Midtown and Buckhead, turning many of those neighborhoods’ restaurants (STK, South City Kitchen, Umi) and grocery stores (Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s) into hot spots. Don’t forget the strip clubs: The famous Clermont Lounge has drawn the attention of Lady Gaga, Robert de Niro, Pink, and Woody Harrelson. Mumford and Sons famously got kicked out of the Clermont in 2013 for allegedly breaking the club’s No. 1 rule: no photos.

The Legends Celebrity Golf Tour—Atlanta Experience

For our 4th stop on Legends Celebrity Golf Tour, this three-day event kicks off with a Pairings Party on day 1 for our sponsors, celebrities, & athletes. On the morning of day 2, celebrities & athletes will play in an individual tournament to win the tour’s monetary purse of up to $50,000 for their foundation or charity; followed by a Pairings Party that night where each registered team of 4 will be paired with 1 celebrity / athlete for the Legends Pro-Am Tournament the next day! Lastly, on day 3, celebrities & athletes will enjoy an 18-hole round of golf for our Purse Tournament while raising money for charity by participating in our sponsored hole events such as long-drive competitions, and closest-to-the-pin competitions.

Enjoy 18 holes with your favorite celebrities & athletes with the best golfing view around! This day is packed with fun activites; photo & interview opportunities, music, and so much more! This is a golf experience like no other and all the proceeds will benefit our first responders & veterans.

Awards Party | Day 2, July 1st at   5 pm

After a fun day of golf, we will host an Awards Party to wrap up the exciting day with great food, drinks, and music! At this reception, we will announce our Pro-Am tournament & raffle ticket winners, plus hold a live & silent auction to continue raising as much money as we can for Heart of a Lion Foundation.

Celebrity Purse Game  | Day 3, July 2nd at 10am

On the morning of day 3, come spectate our celebrities & athletes while they compete against each other in a round of golf for the grand prize; a monetary purse of a minimum of $50,000 to be donated to their charity or foundation of choice! Celebrities must compete in 4–7 events to qualify for the 2024 Legends Celebrity Golf Tour’s grand prize purse. Tee time begins at 10am!

Atlanta is quickly becoming the city of double takes, because you never know whether or not that familiar-looking person you spied at the bookstore is the doppelganger of the Hollywood celebrity you’re mistaking them for – or actually the celebrity.

Did you spot a Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson lookalike? It might’ve been him while he was in Atlanta filming “Red One.” His Instagram post says so.

 Maybe you spotted Lady Gaga at one of her many favorite ATL spots. Or perhaps you ran into Donald Glover while he was filming the iconic series “Atlanta.”

A-listers love to check out Atlanta’s hot spots, restaurants and watering holes as much as residents do. So as you explore this list, keep an eye out for the stars who also think these spots are pretty wicked.

Ponce City Market

Deciding where to eat from among the two dozen eateries inside Ponce City Market’s Central Food Hall is one of life’s delicious pleasures, and actor Owen Wilson can certainly relate. He frequented Ponce City Market while in town filming the movie “Bastards” with Atlanta-native Ed Helms. That Holeman & Finch burger, in particular, made an impression.

If you’re craving a Manhattan kind of vibe in Atlanta, look no further than STK, an upscale steak house known for fabulous cocktails and a très chic atmosphere. Naturally, it’s a good place to spot a celebrity or two. Actor Denzel Washington, singer Selena Gomez and former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton have toasted the good life there.

A-listers are as drawn to those designer boutiques as much as we mere mortals are, so don’t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of a movie star or musician buried under bundles of shopping bags.

Four Seasons Hotel

Located inside the Four Seasons Hotel, Park 75 is a favorite spot for celebs and industry insiders to discuss business over cocktails. With a discreet staff, celebs can enjoy a low-key yet sophisticated night in Midtown, especially if they’re already guests at the luxurious hotel.

The Goat Farm is a sprawling location tucked away in West Midtown. It is also a great venue for music events and is known for hosting concerts and live shows. Additionally, the Goat Farm has been the location of several movie sets, including “The Hunger Games” starring Jennifer Lawrence.

I’m an Atlanta local with a passion for travel. As I was born and raised in the city I’m sure this selection will cater your needs. Here are my suggestions for the 15 best tours you can take in Atlanta.

1. Atlanta Segway Tour

Take in the sights of central Atlanta at an easy pace with this 90-minute tour via Segway. You will be shown the Old City, as well as numerous other attractions and monuments.

Your local tour guide is very knowledgeable about the area and will help you discover the hidden gems and stories around town.

Segway training is included at the start of your tour, as well as safety equipment and ponchos in case of rain. You will also have the opportunity to take pictures at some of the best photo spots in Central Atlanta. I recommend taking it slow at first to get a good feeling of the Segway.

During the tour, patrons are entertained with stories about Atlanta's history and culture while noshing on southern specialties like pork loin brined in sweet tea, shrimp and grits, a burger sandwiched between Krispy Kreme doughnuts and more. A few stops include a cocktail or beer pairing. Tourgoers say the food and cocktails are top-notch. They also comment that the guides do a great job with the excursion and are very knowledgeable about the city. Tickets cost around $100 for participants ages 10 and older and around $80 for youths ages 3 to 9. Children younger than 3 can join for free. Tours run Thursday through Saturday at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Sunday at 12:15 p.m.

ATL-Cruzers – Eastside Atlanta Segway Tour

Easily sightsee your way through Atlanta atop Segways during this 2 1/2-hour guided tour through the city's historic neighborhoods. The 8-mile ride also affords scenic views with plenty of photo opportunities. Stops include Inman Park, Grant Park, Cabbagetown's murals, the Atlanta BeltLine and Oakland Cemetery. Tourgoers are impressed with the experienced guides and their focus on safety. Even Atlantans report learning new things about their city. Daily tours depart at 10 a.m., and tickets start at about $60 per person. Participants must be 14 years or older to tour. You can also explore Midtown on a Segway with ATL-Cruzers.

Atlanta Movie Tours – Big Zombie Tour Part 1

Calling all fans of "The Walking Dead" – this tour is for you. The Big Zombie Tour Part 1 focuses on seasons one and five of the hit show and takes visitors to various filming locations. Tour-takers rave about the entertaining guides that lead the tour. They also appreciate seeing sights from other movies and television shows besides "The Walking Dead." Tours begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday and Thursday. They last about three hours; one hour of which requires walking and the remaining time is spent on a bus. Tickets cost around $80 for adults and $60 for children. The company offers two other zombie tours, both of which depart from Senoia, Georgia.

Food Tours Atlanta – Ponce City Market Food, Art, and History Experience

Taste your way through the lively halls of the Ponce City Market , housed in the historic Sears, Roebuck & Co. building, during this guided 2 1/2-hour trip. Guides escort patrons through the complex to try some of the best bites by Atlanta's top chefs. The tour features six tastings that could include ramen, burgers, Cuban food and more multiethnic eats. The tour concludes with a walk along the BeltLine where you'll discover some of Atlanta's eclectic street art. Tour-takers say they enjoy the selection of food and learning about the history of Ponce City Market. They also say there are great vegetarian and vegan options. Groups meet Saturday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Prices start at $75 for adults and $50 for children 12 years old and younger. The company also offers a food tour of Inman Park.

CNN Studio Tours – VIP Tour

Visit CNN's global headquarters and enjoy exclusive behind-the-scenes access to its broadcasting areas on the studio's VIP Tour. Not only will you hear about the history of CNN, but you'll also learn how broadcasts are created. You'll also have the chance to step inside the newsrooms and the studio newscasters use daily – a perk the standard tour doesn't offer. Some patrons thoroughly enjoy the visit and learning more about the news, while others say there is nothing too exciting to see during the trip. Tours operate Monday through Friday at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. (Know that the 9:30 a.m. tour isn't available on Thursday). Tours may not be available every week, or they may be rerouted or canceled due to breaking news events. Prices start at $40 per person. CNN also offers a standard behind-the-scenes tour.

The Peachtree Trolley

According to reviewers, this narrated 90-minute trolley tour offers a great introduction to the city. The sightseeing ride covers the Centennial Park District to Midtown. The trolley passes by the Georgia Aquarium , the World of Coca-Cola , the Georgia State Capitol, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Piedmont Park and other top attractions. Adult tickets start at $31 and there are discounts for students, seniors and children. The tour is not recommended for children younger than 6. Tours depart Monday through Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and on Sunday at 1 and 3 p.m.

Atlanta Adventure Tours – Stone Mountain Park Segway PT Tours

Comprising 3,200 acres about 30 minutes east of Atlanta, Stone Mountain Park offers a great escape from the hustle and bustle of Georgia's capital. To explore what this park has to offer, hop on a Segway and join Atlanta Adventure Tours for a guided trip. Tour-takers will cover about 5 miles, learn interesting facts and history, and have plenty of opportunities for photos. Tours last around two hours, which includes instruction time on operating the Segway and a water break. Reviewers say the guides are engaging and that the Segway ride is a great activity to do with kids since the roads are easy to navigate. Keep in mind: Participants must be at least 12 years old, have a guardian present and weigh at least 100 pounds. Tours operate March through October and are available Wednesday through Sunday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Groups are limited to six people. Prices start at $49 per person. The company also offers private tours.

Pop the Cork Wine Tours – Public Tour

Tourgoers love this daylong excursion to north Georgia's wine country. They remark that the owners are professional and choose a nice selection of wineries. Pop the Cork takes travelers to up to four area wineries for tastings. Your ticket also includes a picnic lunch and round-trip transportation. The excursions last eight to nine hours and are available daily. Several wineries also offer live music on the weekends. Start times depend on the departure location. Prices start at $145 per person and include wine-tasting fees. Participants must be 21 or older to tour. The company also offers private tours for a minimum of 12 people.

Everybody and they mama was at Beyonce′’s   Renaissance World Tour Atlanta . From Kandi Burruss and her turnt up crew to Chloe x Halle, all the it girls (and guys) were in the building serving looks galore.

By now, dozens of clips from Beyonce′’s record-breaking Renaissance World Tour Atlanta have blessed your timeline. It’s safe to say ATL did it big and had one of the biggest celebrity turnouts. By the looks of clips posted on social media, Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss and her girl gang —  Shamea Morton, Porsha Williams, Monyetta Shaw, Toya Johnson, Rasheeda, Yandy Smith, Riley Burruss, Kaela Tucker, and more — had a ball in a VIP suite at the hottest tour of the summer. The RHOA girls weren’t the only celebs in attendance. Summer Walker, Chloe x Halle, Da Brat, 21 Savage, and Mack Wilds were also in the building to see Bey tear it down.

Kandi captioned the viral-worthy clip, “I want to send love to everyone that came & hung out with me for @beyonce’s epic #renaissanceworldtour! Our suites were like having our own private parties within the concert & it was lit!!!!!! I’m already thinking of our next one! Can we come next time Kandi?!

Kandi has a lot of pull in ATL and funds, which may be how she was able to secure a whole #blackgirlmagic suite, but it could also help she gave Destiny’s Child a number one hit with Bills, Bills, Bills. And even back then Kandi knew “she was going to be great,” she told Shannon Sharpe .

Men love Beyonce too! Actor Mack Wilds was in the building to celebrate Bey wearing a look by Bode and Fendi while his queen Christina and the mother of his children looked swaggy with a blonde buzz cut and Denin Tears shorts.

Why Beyoncé's  Cowboy Carter  Should Finally Win Her Album of the Year at the 2025 Grammys

The album, acclaimed by both fans and critics, will likely compete against Taylor Swift's new LP at the music awards show next year

Beyoncé deserves to finally lasso herself an album of the year win.

Late last month, the music superstar, 42, released her eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter , which serves as the second installment in a planned trilogy of albums following 2022’s Renaissance .

The LP, like many of Beyoncé’s works, blends a diverse mix of musical genres, and it is conceptualized as a radio broadcast by the fictional KNTRY Radio Texas, with country superstars Dolly Parton ,  Willie Nelson  and Linda Martell acting as disc jockeys.

The 27-track album features collaborations with big names including Miley Cyrus and Post Malone — plus Beyoncé's 6½-year-old daughter Rumi — as well as those from lesser-known Black country artists such as  Tanner Adell ,  Brittney Spencer ,  Tiera Kennedy ,  Reyna Roberts ,  Shaboozey and  Willie Jones .  Stevie Wonder ,  Paul McCartney ,  Nile Rodgers ,  Jon Batiste ,  Gary Clark Jr. and  Rhiannon Giddens , meanwhile, perform instruments on various tracks.

Looking at the album now, and looking ahead to the 2025 Grammy Awards , Nicholas Rice, a Senior News Editor for PEOPLE, highlights why Beyoncé deserves to take home the coveted album of the year honor for Cowboy Carter.

Beyoncé has been nominated for album of the year four times over the past two decades — in 2010 for   I Am … Sasha Fierce ,  in 2015 for  Beyoncé , in 2017 for Lemonade  and in 2023 for  Renaissance . (The nominees for the 2025 Grammys will be announced sometime later this year, following the eligibility period, which runs from Sept. 16, 2023, through Aug. 30, 2024, per Billboard .)

Beyoncé's latest project has received universal acclaim from both fans and critics, who praised the star's expansion into the country genre.

On Metacritic , a website that collects reviews of media through reviews from sources such as magazines and websites, Cowboy Carter scored an impressive score of 92/100 based on 20 critic reviews.

Rolling Stone , for example, praised the LP as having "Beyoncé’s best vocal work on record," adding that the album was "produced flawlessly." Variety , meanwhile, called Cowboy Carter a "masterpiece of sophisticated vocal arranging," also describing it as "a 27-course meal" that is "difficult to describe in whole, but endlessly easy to digest, serving by serving."

The Bey Hive — as Beyoncé's loyal legion of fans are collectively known — also have had high praise for the superstar and her latest musical project.

"The vocals on cowboy carter are INSANE. do not ever play with my sister!!!!" wrote one user on X (formerly Twitter).

"COWBOY CARTER IS SO GOOD I’M LITERALLY SCREAMING CRYING THROWING BEYONCÉ IS WINNING AOTY NEXT YEAR I’M CALLING IT," said one other, as another fan added , "Cowboy Carter is really Beyoncé’s best album."

"Cowboy Carter is such. an. insane. flex. If this doesn’t finally get Beyoncé AOTY..." one more fan wrote .

While many praised Cowboy Carter for its impressive vocals, creative concept and clear flow, Beyoncé was also celebrated for stepping into what is seen by many as a heavily white genre as a Black woman.

In the LP's first track, " American Requiem ," the mother of three reminds listeners of her country roots growing up in Texas, singing, "Used to say I spoke too country / And the rejection came, said I wasn’t country ’nough / Said I wouldn’t saddle up, but / If that ain’t country, tell me what is?"

Martell, 82, who begins “ Spaghettii, " touches upon the idea that artists can only be limited to certain subjects, stating ahead of the tune, "Genres are a funny little concept, aren’t they? / In theory, they have a simple definition that’s easy to understand / But in practice, well, some may feel confined."

Beyoncé not only highlighted her ability to be a musical chameleon with this project, but also used her space to uplift other Black artists, allowing them to showcase their own vocal abilities and stories while illustrating how music truly sees no color.

But the music icon still knew that not everyone in the entertainment scene — or larger world, for that matter — would be as accepting or welcoming of her trying to stray from the boxes that she has been put into throughout her career.

In a past Instagram post, Beyoncé thanked fans for their early support of Cowboy Carter and detailed how it came to be . According to the star, the project was five years in the making and was "born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed." (Many fans speculated the event Beyoncé was referring to was the 2016 CMA Awards , where she performed her country tune "Daddy Lessons" off her album Lemonade alongside The Chicks .)

"And it was very clear that I wasn’t," Beyoncé continued. "But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history."

She added, "The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me. act ii is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work."

And with that, Beyoncé knew she had a story to tell, and Cowboy Carter was released on March 29.

It eventually broke several chart records and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart , which marked Beyoncé's eighth consecutive No. 1 album. (It was also the first album by a Black woman to top Billboard 's Top Country Albums chart.)

Spotify later announced on social media that Cowboy Carter became the platform's most-streamed album in a single day in 2024 so far.

The LP also earned the title of most streams of a country album by a female artist on Amazon Music, and it also had the biggest debut on the streaming platform, the company revealed on social media .

Beyoncé initially surprised fans by  announcing her new album during the 2024 Super Bowl  in early February.

At the time, the singer appeared in a Verizon commercial, in which she joked about her internet-breaking abilities. She then posted the trailer  for her new album on Instagram, sending fans into a frenzy.

After the viral announcement, Beyoncé dropped two singles from the album, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages."

"Texas Hold 'Em" eventually hit No. 1 on Billboard 's Hot Country Songs chart , which allowed Beyoncé to make history as the first Black female artist to ever reach the top spot there.

Despite the success of the two singles, Beyoncé fans were still left mostly in the dark about Cowboy Carter , which, at the time, was referred to simply as Act II , given that the singer had yet to reveal the LP's name.

But, weeks before the album was set to drop, Beyoncé revealed the title by simply adding it and the release date to her Instagram bio and posting a shot of a saddle with a red, white and blue sash that read “Cowboy Carter” on her  Instagram Stories .

Not long after, Beyoncé then revealed the album's official artwork — a photo of herself wearing a red, white and blue outfit on a horse and holding up an American flag.

The album cover is reminiscent to that of the one she chose for Renaissance , which features her sitting on top of a luminous horse.

Earlier this year at the 2024 Grammy Awards, JAY-Z was honored with the 2nd annual  Dr. Dre  Global Impact Award — in recognition of his musical legacy — and used his acceptance speech to call out the organization that honored him in defense of his wife .

Questioning the process behind the voted categories, the rapper, 54, said, "We want y'all to get it right. At least getting close to right. And obviously it's subjective ... because, you know, it's music, and it's opinion-based."

Then, seemingly referring to Beyoncé, he continued, "I don't want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn't work. Think about that. The most Grammys, never won album of the year. That doesn't work."

While there is still plenty of time ahead of the 2025 Grammys, and before Beyoncé will potentially even lock in a nomination for the album of the year category, it's clear that the universal acclaim, Beyoncé's dedication to her craft and her fearlessness to step into any musical territory prove her worthy of finally clinching the long overdue honor.

And yet, even if she doesn't, Beyoncé will continue to shine, as she points out on one of the tracks on Cowboy Carter , singing: “A-O-T-Y, I ain’t win (That’s cool) / I ain’t stuntin’ ’bout them / Take that s--- on the chin / Come back and f--- up the pen."

Mia Moretti knows what to pack for Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival — set in Indio, Calif., where dirt, wind and long walks are the opening acts.

The DJ made her debut at Coachella proper on Aug. 14, closing out the festival’s first of two weekends. The gig came after years of performing at the many adjacent parties held in the Palm Springs area throughout the festival’s run.  

Moretti, who entertained crowds with familiar hits and new music of her own making, performed in a mesh logomania Balmain top, Ottolinger pants and white Desigual clog sneakers .

Comfort was key for Moretti, who slipped her feet into the Spanish brand’s shoes, which incorporated a 2.5-inch chunky platform .

“To be honest with you, I wasn’t expecting to wear these,” Moretti told Footwear News. “But after spending two days trampling across the festival in the sun, my feet were done, done, done. I could hardly walk in any shoes. I slipped on [the shoes] and it felt like I was walking on a cloud. They saved my life. I also think they gave me a little extra bouncy during my set.”

For those who consider themselves high heel heroes, Moretti warns that Coachella is no place to put your feet to the test.

“I beg of you, do not show up in a heel. To a festival, to a rave, to a warehouse party — it is not the time or the place. Show up in a shoe you know you can keep dancing in after 5 hours. Plan for a good time. I love a good heel, but like we say about relationships: Timing is everything.”

NEW YORK (AP) — Heart — the pioneering band that melds Nancy Wilson’s shredding guitar with her sister Ann’s powerhouse vocals — is hitting the road this spring and fall for a world tour that Nancy Wilson describes as “the full-on rocker size.”

“I’ve been strengthening. I’ve got my trainer,” she says. “You go one day at a time and you strengthen one workout session at a time. It’s a lot of work, but it’s the only job I know how to do.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers who gave us classic tracks like “Magic Man,” “Crazy on You” and “Alone” will be playing all the hits, some tracks from of their solo albums — like Ann Wilson’s “Miss One and Only” and Nancy Wilson’s “Love Mistake” — and a new song called “Roll the Dice.”

“I like to say we have really good problems because the problem we have is to choose between a bunch of different, really cool songs that people love already,” says Nancy Wilson.

Like “Barracuda,” a sonic burst which first appeared on the band’s second album, “Little Queen” and is one of the band’s most memorable songs.

“You can’t mess with ‘Barracuda.’ It’s just the way it is. It is great. You get on the horse and you ride. It’s a galloping steed of a ride to go on. And for everybody, including the band.”

The tour kicks off Saturday at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, and will hit cities including Atlanta, Boston, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Detroit, as well as the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. International dates include stops in London, Oslo, Berlin, Stockholm, Montreal and Glasgow.

The band’s Royal Flush Tour will have Cheap Trick as the opening act for many stops, but Def Leppard and Journey will join for three stadium dates in Cleveland, Toronto and Boston this summer.

Ann and Nancy Wilson will be filled out by Ryan Wariner (lead and rhythm guitar), Ryan Waters (guitars), Paul Moak (guitars, keyboards and backing vocals), Tony Lucido (bass and backing vocals) and Sean T. Lane (drums).

The tour is the first in several years for Heart, which was rocked by a body blow in 2016 when Ann Wilson’s husband was arrested for assaulting Nancy’s 16-year-old twin sons. Nancy Wilson says that’s all in the past.

“We can take any kind of turbulence, me and Ann, and we’ve always been OK together,” she says. “We’re still steering the ship and happy to do it together. So we’re tight.”

The new tour will take them to Canada, which was warm to the band when they were starting out as what Nancy Wilson calls “a couple of chicks from Seattle.” She recalls Vancouver embracing Heart, and touring in one van across Canada in the dead of winter on two lane highways.

The Wilson sisters broke rock’s glass ceiling in the ‘70s and Nancy Wilson says they only had male influences to look to, like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Moody Blues.

Now she says she looks out and loves seeing generations of female rockers. “You have boygenius and you have Billie Eilish and you have Olivia Rodrigo and so many amazing women — Maggie Rogers and Sheryl Crow, who calls us her big influence. And then Billie Eilish might have Sheryl Crow as her influence. So it’s a really nice legacy to pass along. I like to say we’re the OG — the original gangsters — of women and rock.”

Heart has made it into the Rock Hall, won Grammys, sold millions of albums and rocked hundreds of thousands of fans but Nancy Wilson has one place she’d still like to shine.

Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of their debut album, “Dreamboat Annie,” which was the same year that “Saturday Night Live” started. “So we’re actually kind of putting it out there — Heart never played on ‘Saturday Night Live.’ But what about the 50th birthday party with Heart?”

‘She Thought She Was Set for Life’: Fans Won’t Let Russell Wilson’s Ex-Wife Forget She Fumbled Him Amid Viral Reactions to the NFL Draft

The 2024 NFL draft is upon us , and fans couldn’t resist reminding us of the video that went viral of former Denver Bronco Russell Wilson and his ex-wife learning he’d been picked in the third round by the Seattle Seahawks in 2012.

The video features Wilson and his then-wife, Ashton Meem , learning the news. Meem screamed for joy in excitement, and a snapshot of her wide, open mouth became a meme that’s shared almost annually on social media during the NFL draft.

The 2024 NFL draft is April 25-April 27, and this year was no exception to Meem’s viral meme, which was posted on X last April and shared again by fans this year. The post was captioned , “Never forget when Russell Wilson’s ex thought she was set for life on Draft day.”

Despite their separation and divorce, fans still drag Meem for fumbling the NFL champ, who is now married to Grammy winning singer Ciara and has four children.

One fan who reshared the post on April 26 wrote , “Russ leveled up before leveling up with a thing. He manifested Ciara!,” in response to another that said , “She then f—ked one of his teammates.”

Russell and Meem divorced in 2014 following two years of marriage and rumors that she’d slept with Wilson’s teammate Golden Tate. However, Tate denied the rumors.

“I did not have an affair with Russell Wilson’s wife, nor did I have anything to do with his divorce. That is laughable for anyone who knows us,” said Tate in 2015. “His ex-wife, Ashton, is still best friends with my girlfriend. Russell and I were good friends when I was in Seattle, on and off the field — he knows the rumors about me were unfounded, damaging to my reputation, and an attack on my character. Anyone who circulated that rumor was just plain irresponsible.”

Also in 2014, Russell helped the Seattle Seahawks earn their first Super Bowl championship. Despite Meem not posting anything on Instagram for years, folks still drag her during the NFL draft on her page.

On a post that Meem shared of her dog back in 2017, several people left recent comments about their former relationship. One fan trolled Meem with the viral meme adding , “She thought she was set for life.”

Fans also left remarks under a picture Meem shared of her and Wilson’s visit to Seattle Children’s Hospital back in 2012. The couple visited with a couple, Dave and Kristina Quick, as well as their newborn twins. The post was captioned , “Amazing to meet Twins Franklin, Harrison & their amazing parents today! #SeattleChildren.”

“Life was set huh,” remarked one fan.

Other fans continued the onslaught on X. One fan wrote , “What’s not in that picture is her dad kissing her on the head like she was drafted. He was thinking that he was set for life also.” Another replied , “She probably working at Starbucks… Madder than a mudder fudder.”

Meem has not responded publicly to the most recent online activity and reportedly works as an advertising account executive at an insurance company.

Wilson left the Seahawks in 2021 and spent a year playing for the Denver Broncos. He now plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers and his wife Ciara of nearly 8 years is preparing for a mega music tour.
