Audiences across the country will enjoy world-class dance, stunning choreography and glamorous costumes, live and up close from 10 talented Strictly Professionals: Dianne Buswell; Vito Coppola; Carlos Gu; Karen Hauer; Neil Jones; Nikita Kuzmin; Gorka Marquez; Luba Mushtuk; Jowita Przystal; and Nancy Xu.

Directed by Strictly’s Creative Director Jason Gilkison, Strictly Come Dancing: The Professionals will surprise and delight audiences with dance and choreography at the highest possible standard.

Strictly Come Dancing announces UK arena tour for 2023

Multi-award-winning BBC Studios Entertainment production will be touring the UK with 31 exciting dance packed shows.

Clear the dancefloor and whip out your 10 paddles, because the Strictly Come Dancing Live Arena Tour is back for 2023! For the first time ever, Anton Du Beke will join fellow TV judges Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood on the Strictly Live Tour. The tour will also see the welcome return of the sensational Janette Manrara, who will host the 31 supersized sparkle-filled shows foxtrotting around the country in January and February next year. Tickets are on sale at 9.00am on 30 September from StrictlyComeDancingLive.com .

Opening at the Utilita Arena Birmingham on 20 January, the scintillating live show will then waltz across the country to some of the UK’s biggest entertainment venues: Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena, Leeds’ First Direct Arena, the AO Arena Manchester, Sheffield’s Utilita Arena, Newcastle’s Utilita Arena, London’s O2 Arena, SSE Arena Belfast, culminating at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on 12 February.

The 2023 tour will be directed once again by the A-MAZ-ING Strictly TV Judge Craig Revel Horwood. The show will feature many of the celebrities and professional dancers from the current series of the multi-award-winning BBC One show, together with the Strictly Live Band, a great way to celebrate the 20 th series of this entertainment phenomenon. Further casting announcements will be made soon.

Speaking about the upcoming tour, Anton Du Beke said: "I'm so excited to join my fellow TV judges on the Strictly 2023 tour and have the chance to enjoy all the fun of the live experience with audiences around the UK."  

Strictly’s Head Judge Shirley Ballas said: “I’m delighted to be returning to the judging panel, and it will be lovely to have Anton with us. It’s always so much fun! The audiences at the arena shows are phenomenal and it’s so nice to get to see everyone and perform for you all – I can’t wait for January when we get the show on the road!”

Craig Revel Horwood said: “ I'm thrilled to be back directing and judging the 2023 tour. This tour is going to be bigger and better than ever before – my imagination is running wild! With Anton joining the judging panel, one word, three syllables: FAB-U-LOUS!”

BBC One’s hugely popular Strictly Come Dancing returned to TV screens last weekend with an exciting new celebrity line-up and a host of breathtaking dance routines. Strictly's Live Tour is no different, showcasing all the amazing choreography and fantastic live music that Strictly is famous for, so that audiences around the UK can experience everything they love about the TV show live on stage.

Arena audiences can not only watch the spectacular stars in action as they perform roof-raising routines, but they are also granted the power to decide who wins the coveted Glitterball Trophy at the end of each show. The tour judges will provide their invaluable wisdom, advice and scores at each performance, but the audience vote via text for their favourite couple, and it is ultimately their votes that will decide who wins! 

As in 2022, each performance of the tour will host a British Sign Language interpreter, who will be displayed on two very large screens either side of the stage so that attendees can book tickets and sit almost anywhere in the arena to enjoy the experience with family and friends.

The Strictly Come Dancing Live tour 2023 promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

The Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour 2023 is coming to a town near you, and this year host Janette Manrara has promised the show will be bigger than ever before. 

As Strictly Come Dancing 2022 comes to a close in December, fans of the show know that the live tour traditionally follows the end of the series and will showcase all the breathtaking choreography, stunning costumes and fantastic live music that we see in BBC One’s long-running show. 

The 2023 tour will be directed once again by the A-MAZ-ING Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood and will feature many of the celebrities and professional dancers from the current series, together with the Strictly live band.

Audiences around the UK can experience everything they love about the TV show live on stage, getting the chance to not only watch the stars in action as they perform roof-raising routines, but also audiences will once again have the power to decide who wins the Glitterball Trophy at the end of each show. 

Strictly Come Dancing Live tour 2023 dates

Opening at the Utilita Arena Birmingham on Friday, January 20, the live show will then waltz around the UK to some of the biggest entertainment venues including Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena, Leeds’ First Direct Arena, the AO Arena in Manchester, Sheffield’s Utilita Arena, Newcastle’s Utilita Arena, London’s O2 Arena and the SSE Arena in Belfast, before culminating at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on Sunday, February 12.

Strictly Come Dancing Live tour 2023: which celebrities are taking part?

As always the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour 2023 will see some of the biggest names from Strictly Come Dancing 2022 return to the dance floor... and the first three celebrities have already been announced. 

Actor Will Mellor ( Broadchurch , Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps ) will be taking part, along with Paralympic swimming champion and broadcaster Ellie Simmonds and Kiss FM radio host, TV presenter and DJ Tyler West. 

Speaking about the upcoming tour, Will Mellor said: " Strictly has been one of the most memorable and emotional journeys I’ve ever been on! Stepping out of my comfort zone and being a part of this massive show is something I’ll never forget. I can’t wait to put on my dancing shoes and go around the country to perform on huge stages in front of thousands of people who have watched and supported us. Bring on the tour!!”

Ellie Simmonds added: “ Strictly was such an incredible life-changing and emotional experience for me — it gave me a huge confidence boost and the feeling that anything is possible! So to be able to continue my journey on the tour next year is going to be amazing. I can't wait!"

Tyler West, whose time on the TV series came to an end in the Blackpool special said: “I never realized how much dance would change my life but I can’t express how much I’ve loved it and fully embraced this opportunity to learn to dance with the best dance partner anyone could ask for in Dianne! I am so happy my Strictly journey isn't over quite yet and I can’t wait to relive some of our favorite dances and live like a pop star on tour performing for audiences each night! I am buzzing to get on the road with the gang.”

Also joining the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour 2023 are Molly Rainford and Hamza Yassin.

Wildlife cameraman Hamza, who is currently one of the Strictly favourites to win the show, said of the tour: “ Strictly has changed my life in ways I never imagined, so to be doing the tour on top of it all is a dream come true.

“I’ve heard the tour audiences are unparalleled, so I’ll be relishing the atmosphere every night, and I’m so excited to share that experience with my fellow dancers — not to mention the judges.”

Actress, singer and TV presenter Molly also commented: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Strictly Live Tour . Performing for the huge arena crowds across the UK is going to be an incredible experience.

“I’m really looking forward to continuing my amazing Strictly journey and getting out on the road to meet all the fans.”

Strictly Come Dancing is back and we have all the news as it happens on the launch show

Strictly Come Dancing is back for another year and the launch show aired on BBC One. The launch night comes one week before the live shows kick-off and will see this year's celebrities paired up with their professional partners for the very first time.

As well as the pairing announcements, which you can see in the blog below, there was a lovely tribute to late head judge Len Goodman and also, the judges and professionals did a lovely routine in honour of Welsh dancer, Amy Dowden who isn't on this year's series due to her ongoing cancer treatment.

There is an amazing line-up this year, which includes soap star Adam Thomas, the show's first-ever Love Island contestant Zara McDermott , actress Amanda Abbington, former EastEnders actor Nigel Harman , Tennis star Annabel Croft, Les Dennis and Channel 4 News host, Krishnan Guru-Murthy. English ballroom dancer Shirley Ballas, who has been dubbed the Queen of Latin, will be head judge again as Australian-born choreographer Craig Revel Horwood, South African dancer Motsi Mabuse, and ballroom and Latin dancer Anton Du Beke return to the judging panel.

Tess Daly, who has presented the BBC One show since its first series in 2004, and Claudia Winkleman, who took over from Sir Bruce Forsyth as the main co-host in 2014, will also return. The launch show will open with a group number featuring the judges and professionals dressed in striking black and white outfits.

Ballas said the audience are “in for a real treat” with the opening number, adding: “I’ve been put through my paces, but to be dancing with my fellow judges and the professional dancers is a feeling like no other.”

Du Beke added that the performance brought him back to his days as a Strictly professional, saying: “Everyone is in great shape and everyone is dancing well and it’s just a really fantastic number, it genuinely is.”

Revel Horwood revealed that the number will see all four judges go up against each other, and for his section he will be doing a backward walk-over assisted by two male dancers.

In April, the BBC announced that reigning champion Jowita Przystal, who last year lifted the glitterball trophy with wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin, is returning to the show along with 2022’s runners-up Gorka Marquez, Carlos Gu and Vito Coppola. Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones and Nikita Kuzmin are among the other professionals in the line-up. Those taking to the dancefloor also include Luba Mushtuk, Giovanni Pernice, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Lauren Oakley and Michelle Tsiakkas. The last series of Strictly saw Yassin and Przystal lift beat celebrity couples Fleur East and Coppola, Molly Rainford and Gu, and Helen Skelton and Marquez, in a public vote during the live show.

Once the pairings have been announced, the celebrities and professionals will perform a special group routine. But how long is the launch show and what are the show timings. The launch show is recorded ahead of broadcast and the first live show airs on Saturday, September 23.

On Morning Live earlier this week, pro dancer Neil Jones confirmed the launch show is pre-recorded during the Strictly fitness segment of the BBC morning show. What a gorgeous tribute to Len Goodman

A stunning tribute to late Strictly judge Len Goodman had viewers in tears.

The former panel member passed away earlier this year and Strictly stars, including Claudia, Tess, Shirley and Craig paid tribute to the da ncing legend.

Zara's first dance was also revealed earlier...

Former Love Island star Zara McDermott will dance the Cha Cha Cha in her first Strictly Come Dancing live show, it was revealed in the launch programme.

The first show of the 21st series opened with a dramatic performance from the professional dancers to Rhythm Is A Dancer from group Snap!, before the 15 celebrity contestants began to find out who they would be training and performing with on the show.

McDermott, who has made a series of TV documentaries since appearing on the ITV dating show, was paired with Graziano Di Prima during the pre-recorded show on Saturday.

The 26-year-old said: “I think I’m probably the most nervous I’ve been in my life. I’m not a natural born performer, I’m not an extrovert, so this is the biggest challenge of my life.”

She later said Di Prima is a “family favourite” in her household and her mother Karen “screamed” when the pair facetimed her together as she was “so happy”.

Revealing her first live show dance, Di Prima said: “It is going to exotic, Latin and is the Cha Cha Cha darling,” to which McDermott said she was “excited”.

Co-host Claudia Winkleman said: “You can have fun with it, I think, I don’t know, I’ve been here 19 years and I have no idea.”

Introducing the judge's dance, the pairs sent a message to Amy.

Tess said: "Gorgeous Amy Dowden can't be with us, she's our Welsh dragon." And Claud added: "Amy from your entire Strictly family we're sending all our love and we can't wait to have you back on the dancefloor."

The BBC has offered a sneak peek at the Strictly Come Dancing launch show as the judges go up “against each other” to do a big dance number alongside the professionals.

Dressed in black, judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse show the contestants what they are looking for as the celebrity dancing show returns to BBC One at 6.35pm on Saturday.

Du Beke is seen looking serious with a black hat, patterned top and dark trousers while Revel Horwood opts for more of a French mime look including a black and white striped top, red scarf and suspenders.

Revel Horwood, 58, said: “Well, it’s very exciting. So I’m doing an assisted backward walk-over darling, which I’ve never done before, it’s when you drop into two boys’ arms, flip over and land hopefully on your feet, so that’ll be good fun.

“It’s really stylised, I really love the music and it’s a compilation and it’s all four judges going up against each other.”

Images also show 63-year-old “Queen of Latin” Ballas lunge in a black dress with a pink rosette as she is surrounded by fan-wielding Strictly professionals.

She said: “The audience is in for a real treat, my dance shoes are back out and it feels amazing.

“I’ve been put through my paces but to be dancing with my fellow judges and the professional dancers is a feeling like no other.”

Du Beke said the number is “amazingly brilliant” and the judges are “on great form as well”.

The 57-year-old was the longest-serving professional dancer on Strictly, having been a fixture on the BBC One series since it began, until he swapped the dancefloor for the judging panel to take over from Bruno Tonioli permanently in 2021.

Du Beke said: “Everyone is in great shape and everyone is dancing well and it’s just a really fantastic number, it genuinely is. It felt a bit like being back in a pro number. I am on a podium, it’s exciting.”

Mabuse, who used to be a professional on German dance show Let’s Dance before becoming a judge and moving to Strictly, said: “You think you’ve retired and you’re never going to dance again and you’ve done it all, but then Strictly calls and then the shoes are back on.

“I think that the audience loves to see the judges dancing and it’s going to be a big celebration.”

The Welsh dancer shared on her Instagram back at the end of August that she'd been Strictlified' in the 'best day' ahead of a chemotherapy session.

Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer back in the spring and has since discovered more tumours and had sepsis - but she's amazingly kept smiling the whole time.

So, though she won't be in the new series, might we see her in a group number tonight?

The last series of Strictly saw Yassin and Przystal lift beat celebrity couples Fleur East and Coppola, Molly Rainford and Gu, and Helen Skelton and Marquez, in a public vote during the live show.

What about It Takes Two?

Strictly It Takes Two returns to BBC Two at 6.30pm on 25 September. Fans can look forward to an exciting season, featuring dynamic duo Janette Manrara and Fleur East.

Fleur will bring her infectious energy to the It Takes Two stage. With her unique perspective as a Strictly finalist, Fleur is poised to offer insightful commentary and exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpses alongside Janette, a former professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing.

Janette's wealth of experience on the dance floor has made her a popular figure amongst contestants and viewers alike and she is ready once more to offer engaging interviews with this series’ celebrities and professional dancers.

Joanne Clifton will be back to front Choreography corner but this time she is tag-teaming with her brother Kevin Clifton. They will be breaking down how you can recreate some Fab-U-Lous dance moves at home and analysing the weekends dance moves.

The Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour is back and hitting the road in January and February 2023! Now you have the chance to experience everything you love about the multi-award-winning TV series – live!

Anton Du Beke will join fellow TV judges Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood as they tour to arenas around the UK for 30 supersized sparkle-filled shows.
