It’s located between Phuket and Krabi but Phi Phi Islands actually belongs to Krabi province. The island is about 48 kilometers away from Phuket and 45 Kilometers from Krabi. There are two distinct parts to the island - commonly known as Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Lay – separated by a small stretch of water.

The breathtaking view of the island and the spectacular rock formation are a sight to behold. The Phi Phi island is surrounded by pretty teal water, get a chance to take a dive in this sparkling water and explore the exotic underwater world. Big Boat tour is recommended for those who don’t love snorkeling or afraid of small boats. All the comforts you can find on board, air conditioning, bar, toilets and a large area on the roof where you can relax and sunbathe. This Phi Phi Island boat tour with economy seats includes an international buffet lunch and snorkelling gear, as well as return transfers from your Phuket hotel. If you want to upgrade, we recommend you opt for silver or gold seats for a little more comfort.

No matter which seats you choose, you will be guaranteed a safe and enjoyable trip while exploring the beautiful bays and beaches of the Phi Phi Islands. It’s important to note that due to the size of the vessel, it cannot access the smaller bays and shallow waters, such as Maya Beach. Instead, our big boat will stop near the entrance to the bay where you can snorkel.

Short on time? We recommend you opt for one of our speedboat trips to the Phi Phi Islands as the Big Boat tour can take up to 2.5 hours each way. That being said, it offers a smoother ride than the speed boat tours, which makes it a good choice for families travelling with young children.

After being picked up from your hotel around 7:00 am, you will be transferred to our private pier at Koh Siray where you will meet your tour guide and board your luxury ferry yacht. We plan to depart around 8:30 am, with our first destination being the archipelago’s main island of Phi Phi Don.

On arrival at Tonsai Pier, we will say goodbye to our one-way travellers and our Phi Phi Island Big Boat tour passengers will transfer to their sightseeing boat. You’ll then head towards Phi Phi Leh to explore beautiful Loh Samah Bay, Pileh Cove and the Viking Cave, as well as Maya Bay. Please be aware that big boats are not allowed to moor at Maya Beach due to its protected corals.

This will be followed by a snorkelling session at Monkey Bay, which requires an additional 400 THB to be paid on arrival to the Thai Government to help preserve the local marine life. An international buffet lunch will then be served before we return to Tonsai Pier on Phi Phi Don.

Around 2:30 pm, we will depart from the Phi Phi Islands to Koh Siray where a return transfer awaits to take you back to your hotel.

We were introduced to our guide Jom who was everything you could need being knowledgeable, friendly, happy and entertaining. The minivan was comfortable and stops were made during the journey. The time spent at each of the locations was ideal providing opportunities to wander around taking photos after Jom explained about the history. • David D 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Unseen Khao Sok Eco Tour (TUI Tour) Tuesday 23rd January we were booked on the Unseen Khao Sok Eco Tour which we booked through the Tui Rep at our Hotel, BlueSotel Smart Hotel. It was an early morning start with a pick up at 07.00am. It was too early for breakfast but the Hotel prepared a snack box to take with us. Just after about an hour of driving there was a pit stop for a break of half an hour for a coffee and to use the bathroom. After another ninety minutes we arrived in Khao Sok National Park where we took a bamboo raft ride down the River Sok (reviewed separately) After the wonderful raft experience we made our way to the Mountain View Point Restaurant, our lunch stop on the Tour. On arrival we were shown into a small cooking area where one of the guides gave a cooking demonstration, cooking traditional Thom Yum. When cooked the pot was placed on our table as part of our meal (reviewed separately).  Lunch was served at 11.40 which a little too early for most of us on the Tour. The food was delicious, however a lot was wasted as it was too early, did raise the matter with the Tui Rep back at the Hotel. Water was included in the meal, other drinks were charged for, a large Chang was 109 Baht (roughly £2.50) Once lunch was over it was a twenty minute drive to the Monkey Temple, Wat Tham Phanthurat Thong, where we visited the Buddha Cave, the Temple and saw the monkeys, We stopped at Khao Sok Viewpoint on the way to the Thongsuk Elephant Park from here there were some spectacular views around the area. We then headed off to the Elephant Park, which was definitely was the highlight of the Tour. We fed the elephants, gave them a mud spa then scrubbed them clean. Our visit to Thongsuk Elephant Park was a memorable experience (reviewed separately). We got to visit three beautiful temples and then finished the day enjoying the sunset from a boat, which then docked at the fourth temple. The guide Suzan was very kind and explained a few details to us about each sight. We would have loved to learn more, and it would have been easier to follow had she used a microphone. Tip: pack sunblock and some snacks for the trip (water is provided). The benefit of this tour is that the last part of it is not that hot and you get really magnificent sunset views over the ruins.
