The Tour of Britain Women will return in June after last year's edition was called off due to a lack of funding, organisers British Cycling said.

Tour of the Basque Country 2024: The Route
Stage 1 is a 10 kilometres long ITT. The route features a 1.7 kilometres climb at 5.2%, plus two short and sharp ramps – the first shortly after the start, the second just before the finish.
The 2nd stage is played out on a 160 kilometres long route with an elevation gain of 2,300 metres. The race goes up and down from start to finish. Although the hills in itself are hardly worth mentioning, it’s the sheer repetition that will wear the riders out.
The longest race of the week adds up to 190.9 kilometres. While featuring six climbs, the elevation gain of stage 3 exceeds 3,000 metres – yet, the final 18 kilometres are a flat run-in to the line.
Stage 4 features prolonged sections on the flat, but also four climbs, the last three of which are situated on the 50 kilometres long finishing circuit. The final uphill is a punchy ramp of 3 kilometres at 8.7% before the last 9.3 kilometres are as good as flat.
Following a 5.5 kilometres climb at 9.5% around the midway marker, the 5th stage comes down to 1.5 runs on a 27 kilometres long finishing circuit. The lap features two short climbs and these are both featured twice. The Muniketa Gaina is 3.5 kilometres long and averages 7.3% and the other one – unclassified – slopes for 1.7 kilometres at 4.4%. The last 4.6 kilometres go downhill in the first half and then flatten out.
The decisive final stage of the Itzulia Basque Country boasts an elevation gain of 3,400 metres on a 137.8 kilometres route with seven classified ascents. The last climb is crested with 22 kilometes to go before the downhill leads onto a false flat run-in to the finish line in Eibar.

'I was quite emotional' – Tadej Pogacar dedicates Liege-Bastogne-Liege win to fiancée's late mother
Published 21/04/2024 at 17:42 GMT
Despite winning the title in 2021, Tadej Pogacar has had a difficult relationship with Liege-Bastogne-Liege in recent years. After becoming a two-time champion on Sunday, the Slovenian dedicated his victory to the late mother of his fiancée, Urska Zigart, and said his priority was staying safe rather than conserving energy after crashing out on the narrow Ardennes roads last year.

Jonas Vingegaard leaves hospital 12 days after Itzulia Basque Country crash
Tour de France winner heads home to continue recovery from fractures and lung injuries
Jonas Vingegaard has left hospital in Vitoria 12 days after his high-speed crash at the Itzulia Basque Country race.
The two-time Tour de France winner suffered a fractured collarbone and ribs, a pulmonary contusion and a pneumothorax, with the lung injuries apparently causing his long stay in hospital.
Vingegaard is expected to return to his home in Denmark or his new base in Switzerland to continue his recovery.
Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-QuickStep) was also involved in the Basque race crash, breaking his collarbone and scapula, while Primož Roglič (Bora-Hansgrohe) abandoned the race due to his injuries.
The Tour de France Grand Depart in Florence, Italy is just 74 days away but it is still unclear if Vineggaard will recover in time to start the Grand Boucle. He could need up to six weeks off the bike to fully recover from his injuries.

Visma-Lease a Bike directeur sportif Merijn Zeeman has already confirmed that Vingegaard will not be able to attend a planned altitude camp in Spain in May. Alternate training and racing schedules will have to be discussed.
Visma-Lease a Bike have preferred to protect Vinegaard’s privacy since his crash, but the team released the first photographs of the rider as he left the Txagorritxu hospital in Vitoria.

"Hello everyone, it's time for me to leave the hospital,” Vingegaard said in a message posted by his team.
"I want to thank all the medical staff for taking so good care of me. And I want to thank everyone for their moral support.
"I have received a lot of messages, presents and drawings. Heartwarming! Now it's time to fully recover again. Thumbs up!!"
