2D1N Itinerary: A Weekend Of Fun In Singapore

There are tons of attractions and adventures to be enjoyed right here in Singapore. Plan for a weekend of fun with your besties – it’s time to be a tourist in your own country. You’d be surprised how enjoyable it is to see this little red dot from another perspective.

9am: Enjoy the flora, fauna, cool temperatures, and Instagram-worthy moments at Gardens by the Bay

'flora and fauna at Gardens by the Bay

Show up bright and early at Gardens by the Bay for a peaceful morning, sans the crowds, to soak up the best of what the two famous conservatories – Flower Dome and Cloud Forest – have to offer. At the former, you’ll have the chance get up close and personal with plants that are native to a wide range of unique habitats – from the Mediterranean region, to South African savannahs as well as arid deserts! Take this chance to explore the nine gardens and see the best of exotic flora from five continents.

Over at Cloud Forest, you’ll ascend the Cloud Mountain after spending some time admiring the towering 35-metre indoor waterfall that greets you just as you step past the doors. Snap some photos for the ‘gram, then be temporarily transported into tropical mountain regions found in Southeast Asia, as well as Central and South America.

And if you’ve been missing the cool weather found overseas, you’ll be happy to be here at the conservatories, where temperatures hover in the range of 23 to 25 degrees – perfect for whisking you away from hot and humid Singapore, just for a morning.

Gardens By The Bay is located at 18 Marina Gardens Drive, Singapore 018953.

1pm: Concoct delicious botanical beverages at The Halia

three glasses of refreshing botanical beverages from The Halia

Make your way from one garden to another. Your next destination is The Halia – yes, that famous elegant restaurant that sits in the heart of Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site: the Botanic Gardens. Take a breather and grab a bite here, before embarking on 90 minutes of fun as you learn how to craft unique botanical beverages using herbs and spices. Bring home these recipes that the Bar Herbalists have created and put them to good use the next time you host a house party.

The Halia is located at 1 Cluny Road, Ginger Garden Singapore Botanic Gardens, Singapore 259569.

5:30pm: Explore back alleys and bustling streets from a vintage Vespa sidecar

a vintage Vespa sidecar driving towards Marina Bay Sands

End the day on a high note with an activity so unique, it’s almost unheard of. Hop into a vintage Vespa sidecar and weave through roads less-travelled while you discover hidden gems as well as some of the city’s top spots. Scoot through some of Singapore’s hippest hoods and enjoy the breeze and sights, before heading to some of the best restaurants and bars in town for an evening filled with epic moments.

The pick-up location for this activity is at 71 Sultan Gate, Kampong Glam, Singapore 198496.

10am: Have a splashing good time at Adventure Cove Waterpark

'Adventure Cove's Adventure River

Start your day at Adventure Cove Waterpark, which is home to 13 water rides and attractions, as well as 20,000 fish. This is where the hours will fly by as you race down the various water slides, laze away on a float at the Adventure River, and snorkel with tropical fish. Set aside some time to go on the region’s first hydro-magnetic coaster (think a high-speed rollercoaster on the water): Riptide Rocket. One thing’s for sure – there’s a wave of fun around every corner here.

Adventure Cove Waterpark is located at 8 Sentosa Gateway, Singapore 098269.

1pm: Take in bird’s eye views from high above when you ride a cable car and dine at a hilltop restaurant at Mount Faber Peak

the view of Sentosa from a cable car

After a morning full of fun, it’s time to take a breather while enjoying priceless views of southern Singapore. Hop into a cable car at Mount Faber Peak, and soak up the sights from way up high! If you’re feeling hungry after the scenic ride, you’ll be glad to know that a delicious lunch awaits at Arbora Hilltop Garden & Bistro, a unique restaurant set amidst the greenery of Mount Faber.

Mount Faber Peak is located at 109 Mount Faber Road, Singapore 099203.

4:30pm: Feel the adrenaline rush at Skypark Sentosa by AJ Hackett

a man bungy jumping at Sentosa's AJ Hackett

Psych yourself up for an afternoon of breathtaking moments when you check-in at Skypark Sentosa by AJ Hackett, which sits in the heart of Siloso Beach. This is where you’ll get to channel your inner daredevil and live that YOLO life as you bungy jump from a tiny platform that’s a whopping 47 metres high.

If you’re not into taking that leap of faith, consider a ride on the Giant Swing, the only double swing of its kind in the world, which will leave you and your best friend feeling exhilarated. There’s also the option of taking a walk across the Skybridge, which is an exposed bridge that features sections of see-through glass floorings for those who are feeling brave.

Or why not just sign yourself up for all three experiences to amp up the thrill factor?

Skypark Sentosa by AJ Hackett is located at 30 Siloso Beach Walk, Singapore 099011.

Ultimate 2 Days in Singapore Itinerary For First-Timers

Since visiting Singapore for a second time recently, it’s up there as one of my favourite cities in Asia . I’m going to share my Singapore itinerary in the hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did. I’d recommend spending 2 days in Singapore to see the essential sights on day 1 then get immersed in the quirky and cultural neighbourhoods during day 2. Oh, and because in 2 days you can eat double the amount of delicious meals you can in one!

How many days are enough for Singapore?

While you could easily spend longer, two days in Singapore is enough for a first visit. In this guide, I’ll share the best things to do in Singapore in 2 days including must-visit attractions and colourful neighbourhoods.

Best season to visit Singapore

December to June is the perfect time to visit Singapore as it’s slightly cooler than the humid summer months. Due to the optimum weather, January and February are the most crowded months. If you can handle the rain and humidity, visit July-November for cheaper prices and fewer crowds.

How to get to Singapore

Most people arrive in Singapore by air. The main airport is Changi Airport. I use Skyscanner to find the best-value flights, using the ‘search by month’ tool to find the cheapest dates. Use Klook to book your airport transfer. By bus: if you’re going to Malaysia before or after, consider arriving in Singapore by bus. It takes 4-5 hours to reach Kuala Lumpur and 3.5 hours to Melaka . Use 12go to book your bus .

How to get around Singapore

Subway: The MRT is efficient, clean and inexpensive. Tickets cost between S$0.90-$2 and can be bought at ticket machines in the station. Public bus: Singapore is well connected by bus. Simply use a contactless Visa or Mastercard to tap and pay. Taxi: Hail a metered taxi or call Grab using the app (similar to Uber). Bicycle: There are plenty of cycle paths and bike rentals in Singapore. Open-top bus: It may be the most touristic way to get around but it’s fun and scenic. Get your ticket . Cable car: Connecting Singapore with Sentosa, this cable car lets you soak up panoramic views as you travel. Get your ticket . The Duck Tour: Travel by land and water in the same vehicle thanks to the quirky duck tour of Singapore. See the sights while travelling in an old WWII vehicle. Get your ticket .

Is the Go City Explorer Pass worth it?

I didn’t purchase this pass myself since I’d seen many of the attractions on previous visits to Singapore. However, if you’re just here 2 days and want to pack in plenty of sights, consider the pass including 2-7 attractions or the full 35+ attraction pass . Transport options like the cable car, riverboat cruise and open-top bus are included from $50.

Staying connected

GetYourGuide offer a fantastic eSim data plan that lets you stay connected while exploring Singapore. You don’t need to collect it anywhere: they’ll email you a QR code which you can instantly activate and start roaming. Yay! Get yours here from $4 . You can also upgrade it to work in 10 other Asian countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam & China.

Where to stay in Singapore

Singapore isn’t a cheap city for accommodation but you have a few options. Here’s where to stay in Singapore …

  • Hostel – Stay at Dream Lodge for spacious pod bunks with personal lockers and reading lights. The hostel is located centrally within a 1950s-period property. Check availability from US$61 .
  • Budget hotel – Location-wise, you can’t do better than Hotel 1900 in Chinatown. Recently refurbished with modern facilities and spotless rooms, it’s an ideal base for exploring Singapore’s main attractions. Check availability from US$102 .
  • Mid-range – With a rooftop pool, an in-house restaurant, and a fitness centre, 30 Bencoolen is a top-rated hotel in the heart of Singapore. Check availability from US$190 .
  • Splash-out – If you want to stay in Singapore in style, then don’t miss Conrad Centennial Singapore , located within the iconic Marina Bay and walking distance from the city’s most famous sights. This six-star hotel features an outdoor pool, fitness centre and spa, plus three exquisite dining options. Check availability from US$383 .

Singapore itinerary

So, how do you want to live? I loved eating $2 roti and paneer with my hands on the roadside while chatting with the Indian restaurant owners about their lives in Singapore. However, I love the modern and luxurious downtown core just as much. The futuristic Gardens by the Bay and the elegance of Marina Bay Sands temporarily convince me I’m a wealthy heiress, poised to tap my Amex for one more Singapore Sling. There are many different styles in which to explore Singapore but I hope this upcoming itinerary gives you a bit of both: street food, sky bars, culture, history and the must-see attractions for a first visit!

Cloud Forest Singapore itinerary

Singapore itinerary overview

  • Day 1 – Gardens by the Bay, Cloud Forest, ArtScience Museum, the Merlion, Gluttons Bay Hawker Market, Marina Bay Spectra light show, skyline drinks
  • Day 2 – China Town, Arab Quarter, Haji Lane, Little India.

Now for the details…

Day 1 – explore the core

Many of the glamorous sights of Singapore are positioned around the HarbourFront. Wander the area to discover the Merlion, Gardens by the Bay, the Cloud Forest and numerous impressive shopping centres (get used to Venice replica boats cruising inside them!). Here’s what to do in 2 days in Singapore…

The Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay

The Gardens by the Bay look like something from Avatar or a film set in the year 3000 ( not much has changed but we live underwater! – my millennial UK readers will get the reference!). They’re different depending on whether you visit during the day or night. I did both which is the best way to experience them to the fullest.

Not only do they look impressive, but they’re also doing Singapore a service. They provide a habitat for animals, act as a water filtration system and use solar panels. The plants and flowers growing up them give off valuable nitrogen to the urban city centre. Their sustainable efforts make me love them even more – but I would regardless! One of my favourite experiences was lying underneath them at midnight watching their twinkling bulbs. In the daytime, you can spend an hour or two wandering around them.

Entrance fee: the trees are free to view from the ground or you can pay S$8 to take the 22-metre high OCBC Skyway walk. Buy a skip-the-line ticket in advance . Opening times: 9am-9pm daily. Opening hours: You can walk around the grove from 5am-2am while the ticketed skywalk is open from 9am-9pm (last ticket sale 8pm).

The Cloud Forest

Cloud Forest

This is a must when spending 2 days in Singapore. During my first visit, I missed the Cloud Forest due to the S$45 price tag which in retrospect was an error. The conservatory is enormous with several levels and bridges to wander while admiring the flora and fauna. Make sure you time your visit around a ‘misting’ (or kill some time waiting for one) when the dome fills with mist like a tropical rainforest. It’s so atmospheric!   Entrance price: S$45 for the Cloud Forest alone / S$54 including the Flower Dome. Opening times: 9am-9pm.

The ArtScience Museum

ArtScience Museum itinerary Singapore

If you catch a skyline view of Singapore, you won’t miss the giant lotus-shaped building nestled on the waterfront. Inside is the ArtScience Museum . My motivation for visiting was the sparkly Digital Light Canvas (pictured above), though I don’t believe this is a permanent fixture. Everything was interactive including a light show using visual trickery to make you feel as if the walls and floors of the room were moving. Entrance price: S$14 including the exhibition. Buy a skip-the-line ticket in advance . Opening times: 7am-7pm daily.

The Merlion

Merlion at night

It may seem strange that an animal only found in Africa has become a symbol for Singapore. How? Rumour has it that many years ago a tiger was spotted in Singapore (presumably having swum over from Indonesia) and mistaken for a lion. Somehow this resulted in respect for the animals, and this statue was subsequently built as a tourist attraction in the 1980s. Swing by to visit this emblem of Singapore and snap a few photos. It’s particularly atmospheric at night. To get there , cross the Esplanade Bridge. Alternatively, take a Singapore riverboat cruise past it.

Dinner at Makansutra Gluttons Bay

gluttons-bay-food-court

Although there are countless hawker markets in Singapore, one of the best is Makansutra Gluttons Bay , conveniently located near Marina Square and the Esplanade. Grab a seat at one of the outdoor shared tables and browse the many food stands before settling on what you want.

Read next: the best Singapore dishes to try

From chilli crab to laksa, satay and Hokkien mee (noodles with prawn and egg), your only problem will be deciding what to order! If it’s too much, take a hawker market tour with a local guide and try a ton of dishes.

Gawp at Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands is a famous hotel and resort with a distinctive boat-shaped roof with a pool on top (strictly for hotel guests only). If you haven’t got $400+ a night for a room, head up to the Sands Sky Park Observation Deck (between 9am-11pm) to admire spectacular views from the 57th floor. Tickets cost S$15 . This iconic part of Singapore is best visited in the early evening it’s beginning to get dark and the city lights are starting to switch on. At 8pm on weekdays (and 8pm and 9pm on weekends), the Spectra light show illuminates the area with dancing lights, music, sights and colours; a real Asia bucket list experience! No tickets are required; just show up at the Marina Bay Sands building and sit outdoors in the area known as Event Plaza. It’s free and lasts around 15 minutes.

Ce la Vi Bar Singapore itinerary

Saturday night – grab a skyline drink

During your 2 da y Singapore itinerary, take a trip to CÉ LA VI , the bar at the top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel where you’ll either purchase a drink at the bar or buy a S$ 20 token at the entrance (the system changes depending on how busy the evening is). Either way, cocktails are about S$20 so we opted for a Singapore Fling – a frozen version of the iconic Sling – and dragged out our time at the top. We got to see the city light show ( 8pm and 9pm each night) from above which was incredible.

More things to do in Singapore at night :

  • Drink a Singapore Sling cocktail in their birthplace, Raffles Hotel
  • Take a city lights dinner cruise finishing with fireworks
  • Watch the Garden Rhapsody light show at 7.45pm and 8.45pm at the Gardens by the Bay
  • Take a UNESCO hawker centres food tasting tour at 5pm
  • Experience the nightlife at Clarke Quay : here you’ll find plenty of clubs and bars that stay open ’til late. If you want to drink somewhere cheaper and more laidback, head to Boat Quay instead.

Day 2 – get your culture fix

Once you’ve seen the glamorous, futuristic centre of Singapore, a day of culture is on the cards. The diversity of Singapore is another thing I love about the city: the Indian, Chinese and Malay groups make Singapore a melting pot of religious temples and delicious ethnic eats. For the ultimate Singapore itinerary for 2 days, here’s how I’d recommend spending the last day .. .

Chinatown Singapore itinerary 2 days

Singapore’s Chinatown is the perfect place to shop for your souvenirs and eat absolutely everything. Food Street is just one of the many places you can do this. Tuck into dim sum, chilli crab, satay and much more. Wander the lantern-lined streets even if you’re not hungry – it’s a lively part of Singapore.

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

We paid a visit to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple , an integral part of the community. Here you can give the world’s largest prayer wheel a spin or watch Buddhist monks chant during regular ceremonies. It’s thought that a tooth from the sacred Buddha himself is enshrined in the fourth floor’s relic room. It’s open from 7am-7pm daily. Entry is free . Don’t miss the chilled rooftop garden!

Haji Lane and the Arab Quarter

Haji Lane

Jump into a brand new culture as you visit this friendly, vibrant area of town. This was one of my favourite areas during my recent 2 days in Singapore. Grab a cheap lunch at the market stands by the mosque, or alternatively, dine at one of the stunning mosaic cafes serving quality Middle Eastern food. There are plenty of cafes and juice bars on Haji Lane but be prepared to pay inflated prices in this popular part of town.

Arab Quarter

While Haji Lane is geared to tourists, walk just one minute into Kampong Glam, just off Arab Street, to visit the Masjid Sultan (mosque) for free. Lining the walkways to the spot of worship are various food stands selling everything from jalebi and other Indian sweets to fresh fruit and savoury snacks. Masjid Sultan opening times: Visit from 10am-12pm and 2-4pm from Sat-Thurs and from 2.30-4pm on Friday.

Another attraction in Kampong Glam is the Malay Heritage Centre , a great place to learn about local history.

Little India

Singapore street art

Get ready to mix it up again as you say goodbye to the Arab Quarter and hello to the stunning Hindu temples of Little India. This neighbourhood is one of the most colourful in town and many tourists stop to pose on this famous corner.

Colourful houses Little India

Look out for all the Singapore street art in this part of town!

I feel I may have discovered my spirit home in this part of town, not least for the incredible street art and moreish food. I ate a very cheap and local murtabak (a fried roti stuffed with chicken and veg) on the street corner at Big Boss Bistro and a slightly more upmarket curry dinner at Banana Leaf Apollo . Both meals were fantastic (and about S$10 and S$25pp respectively including drinks). If you can time your arrival for early evening, it’s an atmospheric dinner spot for a Singapore two day itinerary.

Visit the Indian Heritage Centre on Campbell Street to learn about the community that call Little India home, and Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple to see a colourful and intricately detailed place of worship.

Hindu temple Little India

Budget for 2 days in Singapore

As I mentioned, there’s something for all budgets in Singapore. You can visit Singapore on a budget of $30 a day or splurge $300! Visiting the Cloud Forest (S$45 including the Flower Dome), the ArtScience Museum (S$14 for the exhibition) and a drink at Marina Bay Sands (S$20) likely be your most expensive day. However, during a day exploring Little India, the Arab Quarter and Chinatown you can get away with just buying food as all of the entrance costs are free.   Eat local food and you could spend less than S$30 during 2 days in Singapore but eat at the restaurants in Marina Bay Sands and you could spend hundreds. I noticed that alcohol in Singapore was relatively expensive compared to food: in hawker markets, you can pick up a main dish for S$4 but not a beer.

Transport is very cheap in Singapore. Underground train journeys on the MRT tend to cost around 90 cents. You’ll want to get a cab to the airport as it’s a long journey on public transport – a metered taxi will cost around S$20 from Changi Airport or you can pre-book your airport pick-up .

Indian curry Singapore itinerary

Food experiences in Singapore

  • 13-dish food tour with a born-and-bred local (A Chef’s Tour)
  • Cooking class to make a 3-course Singaporean lunch
  • Historical bike tour with traditional snacks
  • Nightime hawker market tour with tastings

Got more than 2 days in Singapore?

If you have extra time, here are a few extra Singapore activities. If any of the below activities appeal to you more than the above, consider rejigging your Singapore itinerary to include them.

Koon Seng Road

Singapore’s most colourful street is Koon Seng, built by the Peranakan Chinese community. This vibrant part of town has a long history and also makes for a fantastic photo stop.

Read next: Koon Seng Road – a guide to Singapore’s most colourful street

Koon Seng Road

Near Katong neighbourhood, Koon Seng is best accessed by bus or taxi .

Orchard Road

If you love to shop, don’t miss Orchard Road . After starting life as a humble orchard, it’s now Singapore’s premier retail area known for its many shops and department stores. TANGs was the first in the area and remains one of the most popular, styled like a Chinese pagoda. When you’re all shopped out, there are art galleries, restaurants and bars. Nearby you’ll find Emerald Hill , a historical street featuring more Peranakan houses and a range of cool coffee shops.

Botanical Gardens

botanical gardens

Singapore Botanic Gardens are a wonderful source of flora and fauna should you have time to visit them. Designated as the first UNESCO site in Singapore back in 2015, they’re a well-loved part of the city thanks to the National Orchid Garden and the Children’s Garden. Arrive into Botanic Gardens MRT Station, right beside the gardens. Entry is free . Opening times: 5am-midnight.

Sentosa Island

If you have a spare day or half-day, consider adding Sentosa to your Singapore travel itinerary. Singapore’s island resort is home to Universal Studio , S.E.A Aquarium , Madam Tussauds and countless other attractions. Since Sentosa translates as ‘peace and tranquillity’ in Malay, it’s only fitting that there are world-class spas and natural wonders including jungles and beaches. Finish your day by relaxing with a sunset beer on beautiful Palawan Beach. Sentosa is easy to reach from Singapore: take the road, cable car or monorail.

Rice flavoured with eggs, veggies, spices, and small pieces of meat—usually chicken or fish. In most cases, there will be shallots, garlic, shrimp paste, some chili, and tamarind. You can choose what kind of meat (or no meat), the level of spiciness, or how you like your egg added (mixed with the dish or sunny-side-up on top).

Variations of Nasi Goreng:

  • Nasi goreng ayam – Chicken fried rice
  • Nasi goreng ikan asin – Salted fish fried rice
  • Nasi goreng cumi – Squid fried rice

An Indonesian salad of steamed vegetables, hard-boiled eggs, tofu, tempeh, and lontong (rice cake), served with a peanut sauce dressing. It is a popular dish in Indonesia and can be found in many restaurants and street food stalls.

Typically include potatoes, long beans, bean sprouts, spinach, chayote, bitter gourd, corn, and cabbage. The tofu and tempeh are usually fried, and the lontong is steamed. The peanut sauce is made with peanuts, chili peppers, garlic, ginger, lemongrass, and tamarind.

The peanut sauce is the one that truly elevates the salad. It combines the flavour of the ingredients harmoniously.

Numerous varieties of flora and fauna can be found in Sebung River. The mangrove forest protects Bintan’s beaches by holding the soil firmly to the water’s surface and preventing soil erosion. Watch for curled-up mangrove snakes on the trees that make up the natural canopy above the meandering river. The neighborhood is also home to monitor lizards. In the Sebung River, you can find fish, mudskippers, mussels, and other marine life. Explore the mounds in search of the mysterious mud lobsters that live there. Learn to recognise the various types of mangroves and how the river sustains the community’s residents.

Some of the signature dishes of this place are gonggong, black pepper crab, and butter stir-fried shrimp. Kelong Seafood is also known for blending Chinese and Indonesian culinary styles. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. daily.

Desaru One Day Trip

Desaru One Day Trip + 2D1N (Reviewed By SGMYTAXI Team)

Desaru One Day Trip

Due to the high demand for Desaru trip, especially during the Singapore and Malaysia school holidays, families are more keen for a day trip to JB or 2D1N JB trip vacation to enjoy in Johor.

Many of us may think that the hottest Johor attraction would be Legoland Malaysia and JB downtown Area.

BUT, according to my survey, DESARU would be the next hottest place of interest in Johor.   Y ou may ask “WHY”.

Because a lot of parents would consider bringing their children to have an  “ECO” trip or “Rural” trip . This is the reason why there are so many ECO farms begin established recently.

Now, let me list down some PLACE OF INTEREST of Desaru.

Table of Contents

  • Desaru Fruit Farm
  • Desaru Beach (not recommended for a day trip)
  • Desaru Waterpark
  • Teluk Sengat Crocodile farm
  • Desaru Ostrich Farm
  • Sungai Rengit (2 Seafood Restaurants)
  • Extra –> Kota Tinggi Firefly Park
  • Extra –> JDT Horse Carriage
  • Extra  –> Desaru Alpaca Farm
  • Extra –> Kota Tinggi Waterfalls  (not recommended for a day trip)

SGMYTAXI Official Singapore to JB Taxi

I know most of you may refer to the google map to check which route is the most convenient and shortest path to reach your destination especially when you’re only planning for a DAY TRIP in Johor. You have to plan well before taking a day trip in Desaru.

Desaru Fruit Farm Map

Desaru Fruit Farm Map

If you are only looking for a DESARU DAY TRIP, I personally think that you can visit all the places that I have listed above.

I will go through one by one starting with the most important place of interest and how to get around in Desaru.

Based on the Desaru map above, you can see that the first destination on Desaru would be “ Desaru Fruit Farm “.

If you are coming from Singapore, you will reach around 11:30am – 12:00pm. (If you depart at 8:00am in the morning)

Fruit Farm Tour Guide

Desaru Fruit Farm Johor

Basically, you need at least 2 to 3 hours to walk around the Desaru Fruit Farm. The tour guide will guide you through all the journey in Desaru Fruit Farm.

Once you’re done touring the fruit farm, they will provide you a variety of fruit for lunch. Don’t miss them! All the fruit are plucked from their farm.

Fresh Fruit Served At Desaru Fruit Farm

Entrance ticket is priced at around RM25/pax, please note that there is no accommodation provided at Desaru Fruit Farm. Therefore, you need to find the nearest accommodation if you take the 2D1N package.

Herbal Garden At Desaru Fruit Farm

After having your stomach filled with fruit ( Must Try! ), you can consider going to the crocodile farm at Teluk Sengat.

One hour is sufficient to spend in Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm.

Or you can skip the crocodile farm and go to Sungai Rengit area. It is a small town in Kota Tinggi district.

Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm Entrance

In Sungai Rengit area, you can first visit the Desaru Ostrich Farm . The journey from Desaru Fruit Farm to Sungai Rengit area is about 45 minutes to 1 hour drive.

Desaru Ostrich Farm hosted more than 250++ ostrich and it is the largest ostrich farm in Malaysia.

Desaru Ostrich Farm JB

I personally recommend Desaru Ostrich Farm rather than crocodile farm as it is more fun and excited to play with these long-necked creatures.

Your kids may like this farm very much because they will get the opportunity to feed these ostriches with corn kernels or a bunch of vegetables.

Besides that, you get the chance to touch and stand on the biggest egg in the world. Moreover, you can stand beside the ostriches and take photos together. It is definitely enjoyable and good experience with these ostriches.

But it is still worth to go to crocodile farm. At least your kids know how a real crocodile looks like. 🙂

You may refer to the images below to see what you can expect when you reach there.

You Can Touch The Ostrich Egg at Desaru Ostrich Farm

After that, you can spend your evening for a delectable dinner at the top Desaru food restaurant. There are 3 options for your choice.

1. Nelayan Seafood By The Coast

Nelayan Seafood By The Coast

2. Jade Garden Seafood Restaurant

Jade Garden Seafood Restaurant

3. Restaurant Super Lobster

Desaru Super Lobster Seafood Restaurant

After you’ve eaten your dinner, you can choose to head back to Singapore, or you can request the driver to stop over at the Desaru Beach to have fun with your family member.

I think this is a great plan for those who look for only a  DAY Trip in Desaru area. After dinner at about 7:00pm or 8:00pm, you may need at least 3 hours drive to reach Singapore.

Plan for the 2nd day if you would like to have 2D1N Trip. (Desaru Waterpark)

If you are going to have 2D1N Trip, then you can directly stay in Hard Rock Hotel Desaru or Lotus Desaru Beach Resort after having your dinner at Sungai Rengit.

On the second day, you can have a breakfast in the hotel and then check out from the resort and head to Desaru Waterpark for more water activities!!!

The really cool thing staying at Hard Rock Hotel Desaru is the private access to Desaru Waterpark.

1. Desaru  Waterpark (spend time: 6 to 8 hours)

2. Lunch inside waterpark

3. After Desaru Waterpark (heading back to Singapore)

The best alternative 2d1n jb itinerary.

  • Johor Bahru , Malaysia

Johor Bahru (JB) has been a beloved weekend getaway and day trip destination for many Singaporeans. To be very honest, I was not a fan of JB and I’ve only been there twice pre-pandemic. I’ve been there a few times since restrictions lifted and have found some interesting things to do other than the usual haunts of City Square Mall and KSL, so here’s a 2D1N JB itinerary I’ve put together.

Overview of this JB Itinerary

Getting to jb from singapore, day 1: flowers in the window, serba serbi, horse riding, shi-ba cafe, day 2: johor premium outlets, home by tales of paws, where to stay in jb.

There are many ways of getting to JB from Singapore — by car, bus and train. My favourite is definitely by train as you will not be caught in the traffic jam at the causeway. You can purchase train tickets online via the KTM website . The tickets cost SGD 5 one way.

Read: Getting to JB in 5 minutes via Train

Interior of KTM train - 2D1N JB itinerary

Taking a Causeway Link bus might be cheaper than the train depending which bus you take. There are a number of buses that bring travellers from Singapore into JB. Most travellers get on bus CW1 from Kranji MRT, CW2 from Queen Street Terminal or CW5 from Newton Circus. You can check the website for the full list of bus services and bus fares.

Flowers in the Window

Flowers in the Window was an unexpected discovery when my friend and I were looking for a thrift shop. We were drawn to this cafe by its beautiful exterior and the charm of this cafe extended into its interior as well.

Drinks and earl grey lavender cake at flowers in the window - 2D1N JB itinerary

We ordered a latte (RM9), matcha latte (RM11.90) and a slice of earl grey lavender cake (RM12.90) to share. The cake looked really aesthetically pleasing and were not too sweet and the flavours blended well without anything overpowering the other. The cafe also serves main dishes.

Serba Serbi Vintage Goods

Interior of Serba Serbi - 2D1N JB itinerary

A few units down from Flowers in the Window is Serba Serbi, a shop that sells secondhand vintage clothing. Though the shop space was small, they have quite a good selection of dresses, tops and pants. Thrift lovers will definitely love this shop and you may even find some secondhand branded clothing here! I got a Kenzo Golf outerwear which was in really good condition for RM250 and my friend got an unbranded blazer for RM30. I would definitely recommend checking this spot out if you’re enjoy thrifting as it is one of the best secondhand clothing shops I’ve been to.

Opening hours: 12pm – 7pm Note: They weren’t open when we visited at 2pm but were open when we went back at around 3.50pm, so it’s best to send them a message on their Instagram before dropping by Address: 18, Jalan Dhoby, Bandar Johor Bahru, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia Instagram

Amigos Horse Riding

Amigos horse riding - 2D1N JB itinerary

Horse riding in JB? Yes you read that right! Amigos Horse Riding is a horse riding school that offers horse riding class and trail rides. We went on a 45-minute jungle trail (RM99/pax) which took us through an oil palm plantation, jungle and also along a short coastal stretch where you can see the straits of Singapore and Pulau Ubin.

The trail was really scary for me at first as I have no horse riding experience and they allow riders to control the horse without a trainer holding onto the reigns. We only had a 30 second “briefing” on how to steer the horse forward, left and right. I had so many doubts in my mind but the owner assured me that the horses are trained to recognise the path and will be able make it back to the stables even if we are separated from the group.

Amigos horse riding - 2D1N JB itinerary

It can get muddy so wear shoes and long pants that you don’t mind dirtying! It rained before our jungle trail experience and I had some small spots of mud on my shoes after the experience but were barely noticeable unless you are looking up close.

Do book in advance, especially if you’re planning on heading there on the weekends. We got lucky as someone cancelled, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to go on this experience as we booked really last minute. You can contact them via Facebook.

Tip: Get an evening slot as it can get really hot and humid in the jungle.

Edit: As of early 2023, they have opened another branch, which is just a 20-minute drive from the Tuas-Second Link Expressway.

Getting there: Driving would definitely be the best option. It is easy to get a Grab/taxi from town but it can be difficult to get a taxi from the stables. It took us a few tries before managing to get a Grab back into town.

UPDATE JULY 2023: The Pasir Gadang branch is closed from 27 July onwards for renovations, I’ll update again when they reopen.

Opening hours: 9am – 12pm, 2.30pm – 7pm, closed on Mondays Address: TANJONG PUTERI RESORT: Jalan Tanjong Puteri 1, 81707 Johor Darul Takzim, Malaysia LEISURE FARM: Jalan Polo, Leisure Farm, 81550 Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia Website | Instagram | Facebook

Shi-ba Cafe

Shi-ba cafe - 2D1N JB itinerary

You’ve probably seen images of the furry cuties at the Shi-ba Cafe floating around the internet. Having gone slightly viral when they first opened, Shi-ba Cafe is Malaysia’s first Shiba Inu cafe located in the cafe-centric Mount Austin.

Shibas are one of my favourite dog breeds so I knew I had to check this spot out. We stayed for about an hour and bought a pack of Shiba treats for RM2 to bait the dogs into befriending us. Tailor your expectations if you do decide to visit as the dogs may not come up to you if you do not have treats for them.

shi-ba cafe - 2D1N JB itinerary

Prices have increased since my visit to the cafe and it is now RM22/entry on weekdays, RM27/entry on weekends and RM12 for children 12 years and below. The entry fee includes a refillable drink.

According to their Facebook page , reservations are required before visiting, so do remember to book beforehand!

The cafe also serves food, so you can choose to have a meal here too. Otherwise, there are many eateries along the streets around Shi-ba Cafe.

Opening hours: Daily, 10am – 3pm, 4pm – 10pm Address: No 01, Mount Austin, 12, Jalan Austin Heights 8/4, Taman Mount Austin, 81100 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia Instagram | Facebook

Johor Premium Outlets (JPO)

The layout and design of Johor Premium Outlets (JPO) is pretty similar to that of the outlet villages in Europe and there are around 130 stores in JPO, including Lululemon, Prada, Bottega Veneta and Burberry.

Johor Premium Outlets (JPO) - 2D1N JB itinerary

In my opinion, JPO is nothing compared to what you’ll get in London’s Bicester Village or Paris’ La Vallee Village , but it still has a decent selection of brands. I did notice that the selection of goods in the “branded” outlets such as Prada and Bottega Veneta were not great, but it is expected that popular styles would not be in the outlet.

My favourite was the Lululemon outlet, which had a good variety of female activewear. I bought 2 Action Always Tee at around SGD 50 each (original retail price is SGD 90 – 98), which was quite a steal in my opinion.

Johor Premium Outlets (JPO) - 2D1N JB itinerary

Reach early during the weekends to avoid the crowds. We got to JPO before 11am and the place was almost empty. When we were leaving around 1pm, the place was packed and many shops had a long line, with the queue outside Gucci and Coach being especially long.

It was easy to get a Grab to and from JPO so no worries if you are not driving. If you do choose to spend the entire day here, there are also food options , though limited.

Opening hours: 10am – 10pm Address: Jalan Premium Outlets, Bandar Indahpura, 81000 Kulai, Johor, Malaysia Website | Instagram | Facebook

HOME by Tales Of Paws

Cats at HOME by Tales Of Paws

HOME by Tales Of Paws is home to a quite a number of uncommon breed of dogs and cats. The dogs are cats are housed separately and I only visited the cat cafe section. We got there around 1pm on a weekday and it was just us and another visitor in the cafe.

Most cats were asleep except for 3-4 cats that were curious and wanted to play. The cats seem to be more intrigued by our tickets than the cats toys provided though haha.

The cat cafe is pricey for Malaysia’s standards and they even charge foreigners a different rate. The entry fee includes a scoop of ice cream and bottle of water. Entry fee starts at RM58 (≈SGD 17) for foreigners on a weekday.

Prices for HOME by Tales Of Paws

Opening hours (cat cafe): 11am – 7pm Opening hours (dog cafe): 10am – 6.30pm Cat Cafe Facebook | Dog Cafe Facebook

Holiday Inn - 2D1N JB itinerary

During our JB trip, we stayed at Holiday Inn, which was connected to City Square Mall and paid around SGD 100 per night for the cheapest room. We booked 2 days prior to traveling to JB so the last minute booking may have played a part in the high price. We chose this hotel because it was near the causeway but if you want something cheaper and don’t mind traveling, it would definitely be better to choose a hotel further away from the causeway.

The room we got was alright, good enough for a comfortable one-night stay, but my only gripe is that there were some stains on the table which left me wondering if they wiped all the surfaces in the room.

JB Day Trip Itinerary — Where to Eat, Play and Shop Under S$70

singapore 2d1n trip

Go beyond your typical JB day trip to KSL and City Square while sticking to a friendly budget!

First published: 5 July 2022

Many of us head to Johor Bahru (JB) for one of two reasons: to shop or to cafe-hop. After all, cheap shopping steals are all there is to JB right? — Not exactly.

Pasar Karat JB Bazaar Outside KSL - Johor Day Trip

It’s true that prices are cheaper across the Causeway, but there’s so much more to eat, play and shop in JB than just shopping malls or aesthetic cafes.

Apart from your familiar hot spots, this adventurous itinerary will show you how to zhng your JB day trip with panoramic skyline views, a bustling night market, and an exciting pop-up theme park.

Plus, you don’t have to spend much to enjoy these cool experiences at all!

JB Day Pre-trip Essentials

Friends together at Skyscape - Johor Day Trip

Before anything, you might want to secure some things for a hassle-free experience.

Connectivity: We booked a 4G eSIM Card, just enough for one day ( ~S$9 for 2.5GB/5 days via Klook)

Activities: Pre-purchase your tickets online for cheaper prices. For instance, we bought our tickets to Skyscape (also via Klook ) and saved ~S$4/adult.

*Pro-tip: Use the code <THETRAVELINTERN> on Klook to get 5% off all activities with a min. spend of S$50 (discount cap at S$15). Apply the promo code when you checkout. One-time use only!

Cash: Cards are accepted in malls and cafes, but not at traditional stalls like Salahuddin or the night market. Hence, we recommend changing cash for the trip. When paying for bigger ticket items in shopping malls, use multi-currency cards like YouTrip or Revolut to avoid lousy exchange rates.

Transportation: We have a dedicated section for getting around JB later on, but you might want to download Grab as it may be the cheaper option for groups. For instance, the bus to KSL from Customs costs RM2/pax but a Grab that can take four people costs RM5.

If you’re exploring regions beyond JB, then you might want to take a look at Klook’s All-in-One Value Pack for Malaysia . It’ll give you discount vouchers for activities, SIM cards, airport transfers, etc. You can save up to ~S$95 when you use all the vouchers included in the pack!

Budget Breakdown for JB Day Trip

Transport: S$7.28 Activities: S$26.38 Miscellaneous: S$35.32 Total:  S$68.97

(detailed breakdown for 1 pax here)

Getting to and around Johor Bahru (JB)

Johor Train - Johor Day Trip

There are three options to get to Johor Bahru via public transport: 1) Train from Woodlands Train Checkpoint (S$5 to JB and RM5 to SG) 2) Bus 160/170 from Opposite Kranji MRT Station , or Bus 170X from Kranji Station (S$1.25/ one-way journey) 3) Grab Bus from various locations like Changi Airport, Expo MRT, Marsiling MRT and more (from S$3 to S$11 per person)

The train ride is a more comfortable option at only S$5/one-way trip (S$5 to JB and RM5 to SG), without having to squeeze compared to the bus.

*Pro-tip: Pre-book your train tickets as seats get sold out quickly.

Meanwhile, public buses offer the flexibility of time without having to rush for your ride. At Kranji Station , all three buses to JB arrive every 15-20 mins (depending on road conditions). Or book a bus on the Grab app to secure a seat and ride in comfort!

You’ll have to alight at the Woodlands Checkpoint for immigration, before continuing your journey across the Causeway to Malaysia’s checkpoint.

A fuss-free option for groups of four (or more) is to share a one-way car transfer between Singapore and JB. There are car options that even seat up to 9 pax! You won’t need to alight at both checkpoints, and you can choose pick-up / drop-off points that suit your itinerary.

Opposite kranji mrt bus stop - JOhor Day Trip

When travelling around Johor for a day trip, Grab is an affordable and convenient option even for those on a budget. From Customs, a ride to KSL Mall costs about RM5, while further places like the Euro Fun Park cost only RM24.

To book a Grab, you’ll need to buy data for your day trip. Check out prices for data roaming with your service provider. Or, book a  4GB eSIM  (~S$9) via Klook.

9AM: Breakfast at Jalan Tan Hiok Nee

A short 15-minute walk from Customs, you’ll find the heritage street of Jalan Tan Hiok Nee . With various old-school eats and plenty of aesthetic cafes, Tan Hiok Nee is home to both the “old” and the “new” where trends and tradition co-exist.

Hiap Joo Bakery & Biscuit Factory

People queueing at Hiap Joo Bakery - Johor Day Trip

Be prepared to queue.

When visiting the Hiap Joo Bakery & Biscuit Factory , you’ll probably find yourself in a long snaking line with people eager to get their hands on their delicious, fragrant banana cake.

Banana cake from Hiap Joo Bakery in Johor Bahru - JB Day Trip

While Hiap Joo Bakery does export its banana cakes to Singapore, the cheaper prices and joy of savouring these cakes fresh out of the oven are worth the trip down. Each box comes with 10 slices of cake, just enough to bring some home to your family!

Cost: RM12/box (~S$3.50) Opening hours: 7:30AM – 4:30PM, closed on Sun How to get there: 15min walk from JB CIQ Checkpoint ( Google Maps )

Restoran Hua Mui

Restoran Hua Mui Entrance - Johor Day Trip

Another great breakfast place to visit before cafes open at 10AM is the open-air eatery, Restoran Hua Mui .

Their signature Hainanese Chicken Chop (RM18.90) is what most people go here for, while their toasts and sandwiches are also available if you’re looking for something lighter.

Friends having breakfast at Restoran Hua Mui - Things to do in JB

We tried some interesting drinks that you won’t encounter much in Singapore, like the Kopi Gu You — coffee with butter (RM3.80) and the Three Layer Milk Tea, also known as the Milk Kopi (RM6.90).

Opening hours: 8AM – 5PM How to get there: 1min walk from Hiap Joo Bakery ( Google Maps )

Salahuddin Bakery

Salahuddin bakery pastries - Johor Day Trip

Salahuddin Bakery is one of JB’s oldest eateries and feels much like a living museum. Since opening back in 1937, they have retained their rustic and antique decor with Peranakan tiles, complete with old-school signages and calendars.

Salahuddin Bakery Oven - Johor Day Trip

Traditional bakes and pastries sold here include bread, cakes, and curry puffs — all baked in an old wood-fired oven. We tried the Karipap Ayam (RM3.50) and Sugar Puff (RM2), which is a good try if you like flaky and crumbly pastries!

Opening hours: 9AM – 6PM, closed on Fri How to get there: 2min walk from Restoran Hua Mui ( Google Maps )

11AM: Hunt for Instagrammable Street Art

Girl posing at Jalan Tan Hiok Nee street art - JB Day Trip

Before the midday sun hits, take a stroll around Jalan Tan Hiok Nee and its nearby streets. You’ll find vibrant street art and olden architecture that make for good outdoor photo spots!

There are several interesting murals and painted pillars along Jalan Trus and Jalan Ibrahim as well. We saw a large dugong on the side of a building along Jalan Ibrahim! Let us know in the comments if you spot any, and where 🕵️

12PM: Cafe-hopping

The Replacement Cafe - Things to do in JB

Trust us when we say that Jalan Tan Hiok Nee has plenty of cafes — we saw about 10 cafes within a short 15-minute walk around the neighbourhood.

The well-known ones here are The Replacement – Lodge & Kitchen , Chaiwalla & Co. Container Cafe or Flowers in the Window . But here are a few more to check out:

Bev C’afe

Friends at Bev C'afe - Things to do in JB

With rustic, woody interiors, Bev C’afe is relatively small but cosy. According to their menu, they serve what they like to eat! We found unique creations such as the Jackfruit Cheesecake (RM10) and Leicha Cake (RM16).

Food items at Bev C'afe - Things to do in JB

The Jackfruit Cheesecake is an interesting try, albeit a little tiny. The strong scent of jackfruit didn’t overpower the taste of the cake — overall, it produced a delicious but balanced flavour. The Citrus Honey Lemon Soda (RM14) also paired well with it and makes for a refreshing finish.

The cafe is located on the second floor, above the Bev C concept store .

Opening hours: 10AM – 6PM, closed on Wed How to get there: 1min walk from Salahuddin Bakery ( Google Maps )

Interior of Offee Cafe - Things to do in JB

Recommended by the staff at a now defunct gallery nearby, Offee Cafe boasts a sleek, white modern interior.

One can probably guess what it’s known for — yes, coffee! ☕️ They serve interesting creations including the Coconut Latte (RM12) and Oat Latte (RM12).

Friends drinking coffee at Offee Cafe - Johor Day Trip

While I’m more of a tea person, coffee lovers Shai and Bren gave the cafe and its coffee an 8/10 for its taste and ambience.

Opening hours: 8AM – 12AM How to get there: 1min walk from Bev C’afe ( Google Maps )

Bonus: Principle Cafe by T.A.M. (Jalan Trus)

Principle Cafe by T.A.M. at Jalan Trus - JB Day Trip

Special mention goes to Principle Cafe at Jalan Trus . It’s a 10-minute walk from Bev C’afe and Offee Cafe, but only a stone’s throw from our next stop in this JB itinerary.

The menu is pretty extensive, serving up breakfast items, pizzas, pastas, and a variety of cakes and tarts. We tried their Hojicha Terrine Tart (RM13) which had an intense hojicha taste and was ✨not too sweet ✨.

Hojicha Terrine Tart and coffee at Principle Cafe at Jalan Trus - JB Day Trip

Not gonna lie — prices are slightly higher than average, but worth it for the quality of its dishes and all-around zen vibes. Plus, you can now pre-purchase dining vouchers via Klook to save up to 20% off your bill!

Opening hours: 8:30AM – 6PM How to get there: 11min walk from Offee Cafe ( Google Maps )

2PM: Panoramic Skyline Views at Skyscape

Girl overlooking scenery at Skyscape - Johor Day Trip

Skyscape is most famous for the glass-floored sky bridge located on the 33rd floor.

At 149m above ground, the translucent glass floor may be challenging for people with acrophobia (fear of heights) — although Bren took it alright! Here, we enjoyed a panoramic overview of Johor Bahru and the Causeway bridge.

Friends looking at scenery at Skyscape - Things to do in Johor Bahru

Skyscape also offers complimentary activities included in your ticket, like virtual reality games, access to the observation deck, and the TikTok-famous LED tunnel amongst others.

We pre-booked our Skyscape adventure through Klook , so that all we had to do was have our QR code scanned at the entrance.

Cost: ~S$10.30/pax , RM5 (~S$1.50) for shoe covers (paid on site) Opening hours: 9:30AM – 5:30PM, last entry at 4PM How to get there: 5min walk from Principle Cafe ( Google Maps )

3PM: Shop Near KSL City Mall

KSL City Mall is no stranger to most Singaporeans; it’s easily accessible via Grab or by a feeder bus at Customs. You’re guaranteed to have something to do here as they have many establishments like KTVs, massage parlours, and shopping options.

But other than shopping inside the mall, step outside and you’ll find new interesting places to explore.

Avery-Day Convenience Concept Store

Avery Day Convenience Store Entrance - Things to do in Johor Bahru

For all snack-lovers like myself, this unique convenience concept store could most probably make for your dream snack heaven 😍

Located outside KSL City Mall at the CBTL entrance, Avery Day sells snacks from various countries: Thailand, Taiwan, China, Korea, Japan… you name it. We recognised some familiar snacks but bought those that are less commonly found in SG.

Yoghurt Bottles - Things to do in Johor Bahru

For example, this Taiwanese yoghurt drink (RM9.90) caught our eyes as it came in the shape of a milk bottle. We can’t remember the last time we drank from milk bottles but we decided to try it once again that day.

It did feel weird drinking from a teat, but the yoghurt was tangy and refreshing.

Snacks at Avery Day - Things to do in Johor Bahru

Hot snacks like fried chicken, fries, and nuggets are also available. After you’ve done your shopping, you can enjoy your snacks at the outdoor sitting area on the second floor!

Opening hours: 9AM – 12AM How to get there: ~8min taxi/Grab ride from Skyscape ( Google Maps )

Pasar Karat

Pasar Karat Night Market - Johor Day Trip

Take a step out of Avery Day and join the crowds at Pasar Karat . It’s a night market that stretches a few hundred metres down the street and will probably take a good 30 minutes to walk down the entire lane.

Pasar Karat JB Bazaar Chendol - Things to do in Johor Bahru

There were many stalls selling local delights such as fried carrot cake, Assam laksa, BBQ skewers, chendol (iced green jelly dessert) — we were absolutely spoilt for choice. We had a great dinner snacking on a little bit of everything.

Some stalls also sold everyday items like nail cutters, fire starters, and water bottles that make for good souvenirs to bring home.

Entrance fee: Free Opening hours: 6PM – 2AM, closed on Mon How to get there: 15min taxi/Grab ride from Avery Day ( Google Maps )

7PM: Pop-up theme park at Euro Fun Park

Euro Fun Park Entrance - Johor Day Trip

To end off the night with a bang, visit Euro Fun Park , a pop-up theme park!

The rides here are pretty thrilling — I dare say they’re better than your typical neighbourhood fairs. Our top choices were definitely the Vortex and Space Flyer.

Space Flyer Euro Fun Park - Johor Bahru Day Trip

The Vortex takes you cartwheeling high up into the air while you spin around endlessly for a fun yet dizzy experience. The Space Flyer takes the usual spinning chair carnival ride but goes up high to 30m in height.

Euro Fun Park Ferris Wheel - Things to do in Johor Bahru

Rides are paid in tokens (RM2 each). For instance, the Vortex requires 15 tokens while the Space Flyer requires 10 tokens.

Entrance fee: RM5 (excl. cost of rides) Opening hours: 7PM – 12AM

*Note: The theme park occasionally shifts around to different locations in Malaysia. Check their website for updates before you go!

Planning your Budget JB Day Trip

Outside Offee Cafe - Things to do in Johor Bahru

A day trip to JB can be lighter on the pocket if you plan ahead! That means pre-booking activities that you want to do, having your multi-currency cards ready, and planning which transportation to use. That way, you’ll have more money for the fun stuff like shopping and cafe-hopping!

And don’t forget to check out Klook’s Great JB Getaway Page for special deals on food and activity bookings!

*Pro-tip: Use the code <THETRAVELINTERN> on Klook to get 5% off all activities with a min. spend of S$50 (discount cap at S$15). Apply the promo code when you checkout. One-time use only!

Kam Long Fish Head Soup - JB Itinerary

Save on cafe-hopping with discounted dining vouchers or skip the queue for popular food spots like Kam Long Ah Zai Curry Fish Head 💁🏻‍♀️ There are options for the Signature Curry Fish Head or Fish Tail (meat only), in S/M/L portions that serve up to six pax!

Johor Bahru Streets - Things to do in JB

I’ve been guilty of sticking to shopping malls on my usual visits to Johor Bahru (thank the weather 🥵), but this day trip to JB got me wanting to explore more of the city’s not-so-hidden gems that I’ve long overlooked.

One such area is Taman Mount Austin, a 20 to 30-minute drive from the JB City Centre. Aside from aesthetic cafes , there are interesting activity centres and craft workshops where you can tuft your own rugs or try your hand at decoden . Check out our 3D2N JB Itinerary for more things to do on a weekend trip!

One of the best resorts we’ve stayed in so far. We took 3d2n package with breakfast, lunch & din provided. Food given large quantity, esp seafood & service was fine. Stayed in Garden Villa chalet. Very clean & comfortable. Housekeeping crew came to clean, very prompt & quick. Clean & nice beach, about 20 paces away from room, as well as clean pool, about 10 paces from room. Surrounding well kept. Resort is, of course, not new but it’s more than adequate to unwind & relax. Came during off-peak season & feels like you have whole resort to yourself! Thank you to staff for memorable holiday.
