Robert Plant and Alison Krauss Launch 2022 Tour: Photos, Set List
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss kicked off their 2022 summer tour with a 20-song set at the Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua, New York last night (June 1).
You can see exclusive photos and the full set list from the show below.
It was the first time the genre-blending solo stars had performed as a duo since releasing their second collaborative album, 2021's Raising the Roof . As Plant noted from the stage at one point during the very hot and humid night, it was also the first time they had played a full show together in over 13 years . "So no panic here," he joked, later adding: "This is a very ticklish moment for us. I think we're doing OK? Good thing we've got some fans working."
Plant and Krauss were backed by a five-piece band featuring drummer Jay Bellerose, upright bassist Dennis Crouch (who Plant declared to be his "favorite musician in the whole world"), multi-instrumentalists Stuart Duncan and Viktor Krauss and guitarist JD McPherson, who also delivered a crowd-pleasing opening solo set.
The set list featured nearly every song from Raising the Roof , as well as a half-dozen from the duo's award-winning 2007 debut Raising Sand . Apart from a brief thank you from Krauss at the end of the night, Plant did all of the talking between songs. He also handled the slight majority of the lead vocals, with a voice that was strong, rich and full throughout the evening.
Krauss also repeatedly and effortlessly commanded the spotlight, unleashing soaring vocals on "It Don't Bother Me" and gorgeous fiddle playing on "Please Read the Letter." The duo's shared chemistry was evident throughout the night, most notably when they revisited Plant's Led Zeppelin past with a spine-tingling " The Battle of Evermore ."
Plant and Krauss are currently scheduled to conclude their 2022 tour on Sept. 4 in Austin, Texas. You can get complete show and ticket information at RobertPlant.com .

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss Kick Off Tour with Led Zeppelin and Everly Brothers Covers: Setlist + Video
Including the duo's first-ever performance of ""Rock and Roll"
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss kicked off their Raise the Roof world tour on Thursday (June 1st) in Canandaigua, New York, where they performed tracks from their two collaborative albums and even a few Led Zeppelin classics. Watch videos from the concert and see the full setlist below.
Beginning with “Rich Woman,” the Dorothy LaBostrie and McKinley Millet-penned track that opened the duo’s 2007 smash Raising Sand, Plant and Krauss went on to perform cuts like The Everly Brothers’ “The Price of Love” and Raise the Roof original “High and Lonesome.”
Perhaps most exciting, however, was their duet of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll,” which Plant and Krauss had never before performed together. Sharing vocal duties, the pair countrified the song with a boisterous violin and shuffling percussion. Later, they brought out the Page and Plant tune “Please Read the Letter,” as well as Zeppelin’s “The Battle of Evermore” and “When the Levee Breaks.”
After rocking and rolling in New York, Plant and Krauss will hit the likes of Chicago, Philadelphia, and Salt Lake City, with a few European dates in between. The world tour ends on September 4th in Austin, and tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster .

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss will be on tour together for the first time in 13 years next summer when they team up for a joint outing in the U.S. and Europe behind a new album that comes out today, “Raise the Roof.”
The tour isn’t an extensive one, at least as currently announced. In America, Plant and Krauss are due to only play 10 dates, all in the eastern U.S., Midwest or South. Their European trek is even shorter, consisting of eight dates.
Three of the 10 U.S. dates are in New York state, with the tour scheduled to kick off in Canandaigua, NY on June 1 and proceed to Saratoga Springs and Forest Hills Stadium in Queens. From there, there are shows in cities including Chicago, Philadelphia and Indianapolis before the U.S. leg wraps up just over two weeks later at Atlanta’s Cadence Bank Amphitheatre.
Ten days after that, Plant and Krauss commence the European leg in London at BST Hyde Park on June 26, wrapping up in Berlin on July 20.
Popular on Variety
Tickets for the U.S. go on sale to the general public Dec. 3, following some presales on Nov. 29. For the European dates, the presales begin Nov. 24 and the general sale commences Nov. 26.
Demand will certainly succeed supply at these outings, and there’s no word on whether dates in other areas may be added later. But even after their previous album, the Grammy-winning “Raising Sand,” came out in 2007, tour dates didn’t come in huge abundance, topping out at fewer than 50 shows.
Plant and Krauss did almost all of their previous touring as a duo over a period of six months in 2008, followed by a handful of European dates in 2009. They did subsequently perform together for a few songs in 2015 as part of a tribute to the blues legend Lead Belly at the Kennedy Center.
The new “Raise the Roof,” on Rounder Records, has been hailed as a worthy follow-up to “Raising Sand,” which won Grammys for album and record of the year, among other plaudits, at the Grammys. Both albums were produced by T Bone Burnett, who joined the band on the 2008 tour.
“The album sounds warm, mystical and at times slightly foreboding, like an old friend you’re glad to see again who’s still a little mysterious,” wrote Variety in a November profile of the duo. Read that interview here .
The pair will appear on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” tonight and “CBS Saturday Morning” tomorrow morning.

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss at Red Rocks – gallery and setlist
After releasing their second collaborative album last year, the gorgeous Raise the Roof, Alison Krauss and Robert Plant have been touring together again this summer. On Sept. 1 they took the stage at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colo. for one of the concert highlights of the summer.
Our friend Lisa Siciliano ( Dog Daze Photo ) was on hand to capture them.
The setlist included songs from Raise the Roof as well as their previous album together, 2007’s Raising Sand .
And to the thrill of many fans, they also dug up a few classics from Plant’s days with Led Zeppelin, including “Rock and Roll,” “Battle of Evermore,” and “When the Levee Breaks.”
The band featured some A-list players including J.D. McPherson on lead guitar (he also opened the show); Stuart Duncan on fiddle, mandolin, and other instruments; drummer Jay Bellerose; multi-instrumentalist Vicktor Krauss; and upright bassist Dennis Crouch.

“Alison is like a force of nature,” McPherson told the Current in a recent interview. “First of all, she’s just on the ball with everything. I mean, she’s kind of running the show as far as she’s always got her eye on every little detail. And then she opens her mouth, and this supernatural sound comes out.”
