The hardest part about replacing a factory radio is finding all the parts needed for the correct year, make and model but we have simplified the process with our factory radio replacement packages. Installation Process

• Determine the best place to install the magnetic antenna. The antenna needs to be on the roof or flat surface of the vehicle with at least 6 inches of space from the closests edge.
• Run the antenna cable inside the vehicle and to the SXV300V1 SiriusXM tuner
• Connect the SXV300V1 tuner to the module
• Connect the module to power and ground in the vehicle
• Connect the module to the back of the car stereo or into the USB port depending on the type of installation
• Call and activate the SiriusXM tuner
• Enjoy your new SiriusXM factory radio system

aftermarket radio and backup camera

My wife recently bought a 2015 journey with the small radio screen. Car Toys told her they couldn't hook up a backup camera to her screen and couldn't install an aftermarket radio. Is this true???

Welcome to the forum. You have to have one of the 2 large screen radios to hook up the factory back up camera. The camera is not compatible withe small screen radios.

Muth makes a universal back up camera, where the image is in the rear view mirror.

Call Crutchfield as far as installing an aftermarket radio. I do not see why a double din radio with a large screen wouldn't fit. Some of them have the connections for a camera.

NAV-TV makes an adapter to let you connect a backup camera to the 4.3 inch display - but it is very pricey.

Do not go with an aftermarket radio unless you don't mind losing a lot of the control over your air conditioning.

I can't endorse the quality of this one way or the other, but there was an aftermarket option discussed in this thread http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/3419-possible-43-to-84-upgrade/

There is a kit that allows you to install an aftermarket stereo in the models with the 4.3 ONLY. Metra makes a kit that retains the touchscreen for use with the other vehicle systems and allows you to install an aftermarket stereo. The kit allows installation of a single DIN or a double DIN (so you can install an aftermarket camera). You would also need the steering wheel controls adaptor, but I think everything else is included. Runs $400-$500 US.

That is pretty cool that a company would go to all that trouble just for one vehicle.

They have a whole line of them, not just ours... With most manufacturers moving to a similar system, companies will have to react to remain profitable. They are a little pricey though, and the buttons stick out quite a ways.
