Jim Gaffigan Excited to Help ‘Unknown Comedian’ Jerry Seinfeld on Joint Stand-Up Tour

Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Gaffigan will link up for a special run of arena shows this fall.

The joint, four-date stand-up tour will kick off Nov. 3 at the Chase Center in San Francisco, followed by stops in Los Angeles (Nov. 4) and Chicago (Nov. 10). The run will wrap Nov. 11 at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.

Tickets will go on sale next Friday, June 16, at 10 a.m. local time, though several presales will take place starting June 14. Full info is available on Gaffigan and Seinfeld’s respective websites.

In a statement, Seinfeld said of the tour, “Jim and I met doing Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and have been talking about doing this for years. We finally made the schedules work out.” 

Meanwhile, Gaffigan cracked, “I’m so excited to help out this unknown up and upcoming comedian who many may have never heard of. I know it will be an amazing bunch of shows.”

Seinfeld is also reportedly finishing up his new movie, Unfrosted , a comedy about the creation of the Pop Tart, partly inspired by his famous stand-up bit about discovering the breakfast treat as a kid. Seinfeld directed and co-wrote the movie, which will be his first major film project since the 2007 animated flick Bee Movie . Unfrosted will star Gaffigan, as well as Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, Hugh Grant, James Marsden, Jack McBayer, Tom Lennon, Adrian Martinez, Bobby Moynihan, Max Greenfield, Christian Slater, and Sarah Cooper.

Marsden also offered a few details about the movie in a recent interview with Rolling Stone , saying, “I love the story, it’s the race to invent the Pop Tart in the early sixties. I was playing a ridiculous character, Jack LaLanne, who was the first television fitness guru guy back in the 1950s. I knew him only because later in life he was swimming from Alcatraz towing 70 boats in his mouth. I’m in a full-on leotard with dance slippers. You don’t gotta put a nickel in me if the character is ridiculous. The more absurd the character is, the more I’m gonna jump at the chance to do it. They’re literally giving me pin curls with a curling iron, and I was like, ‘Yeah, sign me up.'”

Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Gaffiga n are hitting the road, and this time, they’re not just going out for coffee. After first meeting in 2016 for an episode of Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee , the two comics have now announced plans to team up for a four-date joint arena tour.

Indeed, the two first crossed paths and bonded over their similarities on the talk show’s eighth season. Seinfeld picked up Gaffigan in a 1977 Volkswagen Camper Bus, and they went out for pastrami at the 2nd Avenue Deli in New York City.

The tour follows the lead of similar joint endeavors by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, Kevin Hart and Chris Rock and more pairings. The news comes as Seinfeld gears up for the release of his upcoming Netflix comedy Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story , which also stars Gaffigan, Melissa McCarthy, James Marsden and Hugh Grant. Gaffigan, meanwhile, has his tenth stand-up special coming out this year.

“I’m so excited to help out this unknown up and upcoming comedian who many may have never heard of,” joked Gaffigan of the four-date trek in a statement of his own. “I know it will be an amazing bunch of shows.”

Their Friday, November 10th date broke a United Center record as the fastest selling comedy show in the venue’s history.  The two comedians will embark on a four-arena tour together this fall for the first time ever.

Take I-90 East to the Madison Street exit and make a right onto Madison Street. The building will be on your left.

Take I-55 North to the Damen exit and make a left, going northbound for approximately 7 minutes. The building will be on your right.

Take Madison Street west from the Loop.

Take I-290 East to exit 28A (Damen Avenue). Take Damen Avenue north to Madison Street. Make a right onto Madison Street and the building will be on your right.

Public Transportation

Take the Orange, Green, Purple, or Brown lines to Madison. Take #20 Madison buses west.

To the United Center : The #19 United Center Express Bus runs on game days. Service begins 90 minutes prior to game time, runs every 10 minutes until 30 minutes until start of game. Board at stops starting southbound on Michigan and Randolph. Connections are made with Metra trains at Millennium Station, Ogilvie Center and Union Station. The #20 Madison Bus travels west on Madison Street, starting downtown at Wabash Street and runs every few minutes, making all stops to the United Center.

From the United Center : The #19 United Center Express and the #20 Madison buses run every few minutes, departing from the eastbound side of Madison Street. Buses make all stops.

Suites Parking

Two reserved parking passes will be valid in lots C and K. The other two reserved parking passes will be for parking in lots A, B, D, or L. Holders of these passes will be directed to A, B, D, or L lots by traffic police and parking attendants based on traffic conditions. Parking passes are good for one space each. All parking passes are mobile entry only.

For all special events, each Executive Suite Holder will receive two complimentary parking passes per event ordered. These two passes will be for reserved parking located in lots C and K. In addition, Executive Suite Holders will also receive the option to purchase four additional parking passes in lots C and K for special events.

Suite Holder parking passes are also valid for buses or limousines under specific guidelines.

Lexus Club Parking

Lexus Club Seat members have reserved parking in fenced, well-lit and clearly marked parking lots adjacent to the United Center for all Blackhawks or Bulls preseason, regular season and playoff games. All Lexus Club members who purchase tickets to other events may also purchase one preferred parking pass (in lot C or K) for such events. Details on how to obtain parking for other events are included with the fax transmission announcing each event.

Lexus Club Seat members with two to four tickets receive a complimentary, reserved parking space in a closed-in, paved lot for all Blackhawks or Bulls preseason, regular season and playoff games. Lexus Club Seat members with five seats or more will be provided with two parking passes.

UBER ZONE FAQs:

What is the Uber Zone (Lot E) at the United Center? To increase and streamline the fan experience for guests who take Uber to and from the United Center, the new Uber Zone is located at the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street (Lot E) and will combine the three former Uber locations around the arena. Traffic leading to the three prior Uber pickup locations 1) Zone A, previously located on Wood Street & Washington Blvd. near Lot A, 2) Zone D, previously located on Monroe Street & S. Paulina Street near Lot D and 3) Zone F, previously located on Monroe Street & Seeley Ave. near Lot F will now be directed towards the one new Uber Zone in Lot E.

What is the location of the Uber Zone? The new Uber Zone at the United Center is located on the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street. Fans will enter and exit through the sidewalk entrance located on Madison Street and cars will enter the lot by turning into the Uber Zone from Madison Street. Cars will exit on Warren Blvd.

What are the hours of operation? On event days, the Uber Zone is open two hours prior to games, concerts and events and will remain open up to one hour after each event. On non-event days, the Uber Zone will be closed and Uber rides will be dropped off near the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street outside of the Uber Zone.

What is the pickup process for fans?

• Using the Uber app, fans inside the United Center will call an Uber ride.
• Guests will then head to the new Uber Zone located at the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street in front of the United Center.
• When arriving, fans will show the Uber attendant the lane number their driver is in.
• Fans will be shown the location where their Uber vehicle is located to start their next journey.

What is the dropoff process for fans? When Uber drivers arrive with guests at the United Center, they will be instructed to pull into the Uber Zone from the Madison Street side to drop off fans. Once exiting the vehicle, guests will walk out of the main entrance located on the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street. Guests can cross the street to the United Center and are encouraged to enter through the East Atrium.

The comedy duo will be performing in San Francisco on Nov. 3, Los Angeles on Nov. 4, Chicago on Nov. 9 and 10 and St. Louis on Nov. 11 .

Four stand-up sets together this November

Jerry Seinfeld has a handful of more tour dates coming up in 2023, and this time, his pal Jim Gaffigan is come along with him. The two comedians have announced six arena stand-up tour dates together, Deadline reports.

Seinfeld and Gaffigan’s shows will go down November 2nd 3rd at the Chase Center in San Francisco, November 4th at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, November 9th 10th at the United Center in Chicago, November 11th at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.

“Jim and I met doing Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee [Seinfeld’s Netflix show] and have been talking about doing this for years,” Seinfeld said in a statement. “We finally made the schedules work out. Can’t wait.”

Gaffigan aded: “I’m so excited to help out this unknown up and upcoming comedian who many may have never heard of. I know it will be an amazing bunch of shows.”

No details were provided on which comedian will go on first or if they will trade slots.

Seinfeld’s eponymous TV show ran on NBC for nine seasons, winning numerous Emmy, Golden Globe and People’s Choice awards. It was named the greatest television show of all time in 2009 by TV Guide , and in 2012 was identified as the best sitcom ever in a 60 Minutes / Vanity Fair poll.

He will star in the upcoming comedy film  Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story,  which he directed, co-wrote and produced . 

Gaffigan is a seven-time Grammy-nominated comedian, actor, writer, producer, two-time New York Times best-selling author, three-time Emmy winning top touring performer and multiplatinum recording artist.

He recently was recognized for being the first comedian to reach 1 billion streams on Pandora. Gaffigan will release his 10th comedy TV special this year.

Gaffigan plays as the lead in the well-reviewed sci-fi drama Linoleum and stars as Mr. Smee in Disney+’s Peter Pan and Wendy , opposite Jude Law.

Tickets for all four shows go on sale at 10 a.m. (local time) Friday, June 16, via TicketMaster.

Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Gaffigan Partner for 4-City Comedy Tour This Fall

Stops will include San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and St. Louis, and tickets go on sale June 16

Comedians Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Gaffigan are going on tour together. The duo will be performing in four arenas across California, Illinois and Missouri this fall. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, June 16 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

Specifically, the two comedy powerhouses will be performing at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Friday, November 3; the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 4; in Chicago on Friday, November 10; and at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis on Saturday, November 11. The tour comes curtesy of JS Touring.

All performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. local time.

“Jim and I met doing ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee’ and have been talking about doing this for years,” Seinfeld said. “We finally made the schedules work out. Can’t wait.”

“I’m so excited to help out this unknown up and upcoming comedian who many may have never heard of,” Gaffigan added. “I know it will be an amazing bunch of shows.”

Both comedians have had tours in 2023. Seinfeld’s started last October with an extension at New York’s Beacon Theatre. As for Gaffigan, his “Barely Alive” tour will start in September, months before the pair’s collaboration.

The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning Jerry Seinfeld stands as one of the best-known comedians of our time. He took off after appearing on “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson” in 1981. He then partnered with Larry David to co-create and star in the iconic sitcom “Seinfeld.” Over the years, the comedian has worked on “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” along with the Emmy-nominated Netflix projects “Jerry Before Seinfeld” and “23 Hours to Kill.” Half documentary, half standup special, the former project was nominated for a Grammy.

Looking forward, Seinfeld is set to star in “Unforsted: The Pop-Tart Story,” a comedy film he also directed, co-wrote and co-produced. The star-studded cast will also include Gaffigan, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, Hugh Grant and James Marsden.

Known for his distinct brand of observational, clean humor, Gaffigan also has a history with Netflix. Two of his standup specials — “Comedy Monster” and “Cinco” — were Netflix originals. Out of his nine comedy albums, seven of them have been nominated for Grammys. He also holds a Daytime Emmy.

The comedian also expanded expanded to books and television. To date, Gaffigan has released two books, “Dad Is Fat” and “Food: A Love Story.” He also created and starred in “The Jim Gaffigan Show,” which he worked on alongside his wife, Jeannie Gaffigan.

Gaffigan is set to release his 10th comedy album this year. He also starred in Colin West’s “Linoleum” and as Mr. Smee in Disney+’s Peter Pan and Wendy and will appear in Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming Max series, “Full Circle.”

‘Tis the year of the co-headliner.

Over the past few months, many of the biggest names in comedy — like Tina Fey with Amy Poehler , Steve Martin with Martin Short and John Mulaney with Pete Davidson — have teamed up to put on massive two-performer shows.

Next up, observational comics Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Gaffigan will share the stage on a six-show arena tour from Nov. 2-11 where they’ll hit San Francisco , Inglewood , Chicago and St. Louis .

“I’m so excited to help out this unknown up and upcoming comedian who many may have never heard of,” the 57-year-old Gaffigan joked. “I know it will be an amazing bunch of shows.”

As of now, seats are available for all gigs on the brief run.

For NY and NJ based fans that can’t make the last-minute tour, you don’t need to worry.

Seinfeld, 69, is playing Albany’s Palace Theatre on Oct. 27, Atlantic City’s Borgata Casino Event Center on Dec. 1 and Syracuse’s Landmark Theatre on Dec. 8.

Gaffigan just announced more dates for his ‘Barely Alive Tour’ that will stop into Buffalo’s Sheas Performing Arts Center on Feb. 9-10 and conclude at New York City’s Beacon Theatre on April 26-27.

Moscow Metro 2019

Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. As metro is the main means of transport in Moscow – fast, reliable and safe – having some skills in using it will help make your visit more successful and smooth. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !

. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.

RATES AND TICKETS

Paper ticket A fee is fixed and does not depend on how far you go. There are tickets for a number of trips: 1, 2 or 60 trips; or for a number of days: 1, 3 days or a month. Your trips are recorded on a paper ticket. Ifyou buy a ticket for several trips you can share it with your traveling partner passing it from one to the other at the turnstile.

On every station there is cashier and machines (you can switch it to English). Cards and cash are accepted. 1 trip - 55 RUB 2 trips - 110 RUB

Tickets for 60 trips and day passes are available only at the cashier's.

60 rides - 1900 RUB

1 day - 230 RUB 3 days - 438 RUB 30 days - 2170 RUB.

The cheapest way to travel is buying Troyka card . It is a plastic card you can top up for any amount at the machine or at the ticket office. With it every trip costs 38 RUB in the metro and 21 RUB in a bus. You can get the card in any ticket office. Be prepared to leave a deposit of 50 RUB. You can get it back returning the card to the cashier.

One turnstile at every station accept PayPass and payments with phones. It has a sticker with the logos and located next to the security's cabin.

GETTING ORIENTED

At the platfrom you will see one of these signs.

It indicates the line you are at now (line 6), shows the direction train run and the final stations. Numbers below there are of those lines you can change from this line.

In trains, stations are announced in Russian and English. In newer trains there are also visual indication of there you are on the line.

To change lines look for these signs. This one shows the way to line 2.

There are also signs on the platfrom. They will help you to havigate yourself. (To the lines 3 and 5 in this case).

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

6. Novoslobodskaya Metro Station  was built in 1952. It has 32 stained glass murals with brass borders.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

8. Mayakovskaya Metro Station built in 1938. It was named after Russian poet Vladmir Mayakovsky. This is one of the most beautiful metro stations in the world with 34 mosaics painted by Alexander Deyneka.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.

10. Teatralnaya Metro Station (Theatre Metro Station) is located near the Bolshoi Theatre.
