Aerosmith’s ‘Peace Out’ farewell tour kicks off with an 18-song setlist and spectacular stage
Aerosmith started their ‘Peace Out’ farewell tour in Philadelphia over the weekend.
Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and John Douglas (replacing Joey Kramer) played a career-spanning 18-song tracklist over the night.
Adding to the spectacle of it all was the stage design, which included massive high-definition screens above the stage, a giant 3D version of the band’s logo, and huge inflatable stuffed animals.
After a twenty-minute video played documenting the band’s history, the fellas started the night off with the 1976 track ‘Back in the Saddle’ and finished with a two-song encore of ‘Dream On’ and ‘Walk This Way’.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock , the “show really caught fire during ‘Movin’ Out’, the highlight of the night and the last of a three-track sequence that found Perry and Tyler seated at the front of the stage… trading stories about their early days”.
If this sounds like something you wanna see in person, make sure you’re listening to The Sound this month. We’re giving one Sound listener two tickets, flights and accommodation to see the band’s performance at Kia Forum in LA on December 7th.
From Monday, September 11th to Friday, September 29th, whenever you hear us play an Aerosmith song, text ‘CONCERT’ and your name to 339 to get on the standby list to win.
If you love Aerosmith, this is your final chance to see them!

With all that going on, Aerosmith is still staging its Peace Out: The Farewell Tour . The band announced its final trek with a movie trailer-like video, which can be watched above. There was an accompanying news release from Live Nation , stating, “After 50 years, 10 world tours, and playing for over 100 million fans… it’s time for one last go.”

Aerosmith announces farewell tour with special guests – get all the details
Aerosmith fans who don’t want to miss a thing need to check this out.
The legendary band has announced its farewell tour, dubbed "Peace Out."
“It’s not goodbye it’s PEACE OUT!” the group said in a statement. “Get ready and walk this way, you’re going to get the best show of our lives.”
“Fans will see one of the most significant American rock bands in history one last time during this not-to-be-missed final tour,” a press release announcing the tour said. “Every night will celebrate the five decades of Aerosmith’s groundbreaking hits as they celebrate 50 years as America’s greatest rock band.”
The Black Crowes will also appear on the bill, while Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer will not.
“While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health,” the band said.
“Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed.”
The 40-date North American tour will get underway Sept. 2 in Philadelphia and wrap up Jan. 26, 2024, in Montreal. The band, which has already enjoyed 10 world tours, will also play in its hometown of Boston on New Year’s Eve.
Tickets go on sale May 5 on Ticketmaster.com.
Aerosmith, which was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, has won four Grammys during a long and decorated career, charting eight songs in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, including the No. 1 hit “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” in 1998. They’ve also had nine Top 10 albums, including “Nine Lives” and “Get a Grip,” both of which went to No. 1.
In 2022, the band had to cancel dates for its Las Vegas residency when frontman Steven Tyler entered a treatment program for substance abuse.
“As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years,” the group said in a statement.
“After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on his health and recovery.”

About Aerosmith
Celebrating their 50th anniversary, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members Aerosmith have sold more than 150 million albums around the world, produced genre-defining music videos such as “Amazing,” “Crazy,” “Janie’s Got A Gun,” “Livin’ On The Edge,” and “Love In An Elevator,” and launched extravagant record-shattering global tours, most recently with their smash hit Las Vegas residency. The band has broken numerous boundaries, including becoming the first rock band with a massive commercially successful hip-hop collaboration with Run DMC on “Walk This Way” and the first hard rock band to appear during a Super Bowl Halftime Show with their 2001 performance, and in 1999, Aerosmith became the first band to have their own themed attraction at Disney World in Florida and later Paris with the launch of the Rock ‘N’ Roller coaster starring Aerosmith. For more information, visit Aerosmith.com .
About The Black Crowes
In 1990, when journalists were lamenting the death of rock, as cheesy pop and hair metal dominated the charts, Atlanta’s Black Crowes gave the genre a swift and much needed kick in the ass with Shake Your Money Maker . Fueled by singles “Jealous Again,” “Twice As Hard,” “She Talks To Angels,” and the break-through cover of Otis Redding’s “Hard To Handle,” the band immediately took the rock world by storm, topping Rolling Stone’s “Best New American Band Readers Poll” in late 1990. The Black Crowes went on to release eight studio and four live albums, selling in the tens of millions along the way; they sold out shows around the world; had legendary guitarist Jimmy Page join as a member; got kicked off a tour with ZZ Top for insulting the sponsor; got screwed by bad record deals; got married and divorced, fought amongst themselves and against the rest of the world. In other words, they’ve done everything a legendary rock group should do

Steven Tyler, Aerosmith announce rescheduled farewell concert tour: New dates and ticket info
Aerosmith will be back in the saddle again this fall.
The veteran rockers, who postponed their Peace Out farewell tour after only a few shows in September, will return for a 40-date run starting Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh. The tour wraps Feb. 26, 2025 in Buffalo, NY.
The bulk of the dates are rescheduled, but the band added three cities: Pittsburgh, Orlando and Philadelphia, where their goodbye run kicked off last September.
All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new dates, while tickets for the new shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. local time April 12 via ticketmaster.com . For those who previously purchased tickets and cannot attend the rescheduled concerts, refunds will be available at point of purchase. A series of VIP packages are also available at aerosmith.com/VIP.
As with the original dates, The Black Crowes will open for Aerosmith.
More: Aerosmith Peace Out: See the setlist for the iconic band's farewell tour
Why did Aerosmith postpone their farewell tour?
After playing only a handful of concerts in September, the “Walk This Way” heroes had to hit pause after singer Steven Tyler damaged his vocal cords. He also fractured his larynx and was given doctor’s orders not to sing for 30 days.
But Aerosmith opted to give Tyler ample time to recuperate and scuttle all of their shows until 2024.
The wiry frontman known for his searing rock yowls, said at the time that the injury occurred at a Sept. 10 show in New York and that the vocal cord damage “led to subsequent bleeding.”
What songs can fans expect to hear at Aerosmith’s farewell shows?
USA TODAY was there for opening night of the Peace Out tour Sept. 3 in Philadelphia. As the tour is also a celebration of the band’s 50 years in the music industry, the setlist reflected their vast catalog.
The band – Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry, bassist Tom Hamilton and guitarist Brad Whitford, along with drummer John Douglas filling in for Joey Kramer – sounded in peak form for their deserved victory lap.
Songs ranged from singalong rock smashes “Livin’ on the Edge,” “Sweet Emotion” and “Rag Doll” to the rarely played album track “Adam’s Apple” and a dip into Aerosmith’s blues roots with “Hangman Jury.”

The Black Crowes Soar at Tour Kickoff: Set List, Photos, Video
The Black Crowes helped Aerosmith kick off their Peace Out farewell tour in high style on Saturday at Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center, performing a kick-ass opening set that left the crowd hungry for more.
You can see the full set list, new photos and fan-shot videos from the show below.
Fronting a powerful eight-person band featuring two backup singers, brothers Chris and Rich Robinson — who buried the hatchet and launched a reunion tour in 2021 — dedicated two-thirds of the hourlong set to songs from their first two albums, 1990's Shake Your Money Maker and 1992's The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion .

The Black Crowes were packed onto an almost comically small portion of Aerosmith's enormous stage, but Chris had no problem connecting with the massive crowd, spending the entire night strutting, preening and showing off a voice that remains remarkably strong.
Rich shined on guitar throughout the night, particularly during a showstopping "Thorn in My Pride," which found the band taking an extended instrumental detour reminiscent of the Rolling Stones ' "Can't You Hear Me Knocking."

Aerosmith is in the middle of a period of growth on the Billboard charts. This week, the band rises on a trio of rankings, and they even manage to find their way back to one list that they never vanish from for too long.
The rock band’s Greatest Hits helps Aerosmith climb on all the rankings they appear on this frame. The compilation has been a longstanding success for the group, but its ascent this time around is especially notable, as it is improving significantly on some rosters.
On the Billboard 200, Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits jumps more than 20 spaces. It shifts from No. 159 to No. 138 this time around. That’s an impressive leap for any title on Billboard’s weekly ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.S.—especially for a collection that’s not new or the focus of some major pop culture moment.
Greatest Hits moved 9,715 equivalent units in the past tracking frame, according to Luminate. That figure is up a little more than 9% from last week. The sum is made up almost entirely of streaming activity, as the compilation sold 677 copies.
The same gathering of singles is also up on both the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums charts. On the former, it pushes seven spaces to land at No. 31. On the latter, Aerosmith’s project lifts by two rungs and settles at No. 7.

Aerosmith is back on the Top Rock Albums chart this week with the same title. Their Greatest Hits reappears on the roster at No. 25–in last place on the ranking of the most-consumed pure rock titles in the U.S.
