Richard Porter, script writer of The Grand Tour and previously Top Gear , has given us a peek into what’s coming up in the long awaited Season 2 of The Grand Tour. So below, we’ll give you a complete episode breakdown. If you haven’t realised yet, this means… SPOILERS!

Switzerland

Clarkson, Hammond and May journey to Switzerland to drive a Lamborghini Aventador S, Honda NSX, and a Rimac Concept One. We all know how this one ends, but just in case you haven’t heard, it involves Hammond’s faultless car control. Yep.

The boys decide to take a step back into, what we could describe as proper motoring journalism, as they test three high-end SUVs: The Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Porsche Macan, and a Range Rover Velar. The trio asses four things: Practicality, agility, performance, and off-roadability. All within the gorgeous landscape of Canada.

The Riviera

You knew it was coming – of course The Grand Tour is getting its hands on a Chiron! Clarkson takes the hypercar and races it around France and Italy, taking a morning break at a luxury yacht, a quick ski, and a trip through Turin. This happens at the same time as a broken Hammond, accompanied by James May , try and alleviate office boredom by carpark racing.

As you’ve seen in the trailer, in this episode the boys travel to Colorado to prove to Americans that British made Jaguars can actually be reliable. They test straight-line performance on the highest US runway, with a few negative consequences… And then take to the ski slopes of Telluride for an epic downhill race.

New York to Niagara Falls

Clarkson gets his hand on the new ford GT, and in true Top Gear fashion, sorry, I mean Grand Tour fashion, races against Hammond and May who are using public transport. First to get to Niagara Falls wins, even though Hammond is at a serious lost after that bit with the Rimac… Yeah, that bit.

Coniston Water

The trio attempt to set a world water speed record on the waters of Cumbria. And if you’ve heard the news, they succeed.

In the Gulf state, Hammond takes to the sand in a very quick tank named the Ripsaw. And while Hammond is stretching his love for speed in raucousness, James May tests the VW Up! GTI at the Eboladrome (yes, they’re still using it), and Clarkson drives a Subaru around the English countryside.

This episode, to much surprise, is going to be completely unscripted. They travel to Croatia in the hopes they put something together, and find themselves after the world’s most spectacular fire extinguisher. We can only imagine…

In a quest to save the people of Mozambique from hunger, the trio go on a quest to transport fish from the coast of Mozambique, to its centre. this will be the special of the Season, and will most certainly be the one to not miss! Especially as we know Hammond has another little accident. Poor Hammond, it’s been a hard year for the hamster.

Synopsis [ ]

In the past, The Grand Tour was criticised for being too Scripted, so the trio agree to make a completely unplanned film with no scouts, no pre-scripted exchanges, no knowledge of the type of challenge and no set up explosions, with the only agreement be that the film in Croatia.

At Zadar's Sea Organ, the presenters meet with a problem. Clarkson turns up in an Audi TT RS , Hammond brings the not at all comparable Ariel Nomad whilst May purchases an old Lada Riva, for under £2000, which he attempts to convert into a Fire Engine, despite his two colleagues stating that tit would be impossible. After a selfie from a fan, the Trio agree to go in separate directions.

As Clarkson enjoys an open road in his TT, while struggling to think of words to describe the car, he is interrupted by Hammond in the Nomad, who consistently makes air hostess jokes, due to the TT's image. Eventually Clarkson gets fed up and the two undergo a small race, which quickly ends due to the road ending. They agree to compare the TT to the Nomad, by firstly having a drag race.

Meanwhile May who'd found a workshop, begins converting his Lada into a Fire Engine, with the help of some Locals.

Hammond and Clarkson have trouble having their drag race due to the high volume of Paparazzis, until eventually they head to an Airport, as suggested by Hammond. However, Clarkson finds out, that due to the team not booking the venue, in advance, they are not allowed on the airstrip. The duo eventually find an abandoned runway to stage their drag race. However, due to them not having a starter, a traffic light the TT having Launch Control, the Nomad having no storage and half their film crew busy with May, they agree to halt proceedings and find a starter.

Elsewhere, May eventually finishes constructing his Fire Lada, and after explaining the tools, he attempts to find a fire to put out.

A woman named Sylvia is found, but proves to be too distracting for Clarkson and Hammond. They therefore agree for her to be the finishing line while a sound recordist, takes the place of the starter. Further problems arise, as upon starting the race, Hammond breaks the Nomad's clutch, and due to spare parts being required, Clarkson takes Sylvia for a spin in the TT.

Meanwhile, after having no success in searching for a fire, May is forced to set a bin on fire and put it out.

Eventually, the Nomad is repaired and finally, Hammond and Clarkson stage their drag race. Despite both having a good start, the TT surges into the lead, and wins.

The next morning, after the drag race, Clarkson and Hammond agree for their second comparison to be a race at a rally stage. However due to their lack of script the duo once again have to find a location.

Meanwhile May's Fire Lada puts out further small fires including some locals barbecue. The trio regroup at a waterfall where May tries claim victory due to him succeeding with most of the points but his colleagues point out, irritably that they are not taking part in his Fire Engine Challenge, with Clarkson throwing the chart board into the lake.

Hammond and Clarkson eventually find their rally stage, with Sylvia being the timer. Despite the Nomad's off-road pedigree, due to the TT having AWD and more power, Clarkson wins by two seconds, annoying Hammond. The duo then get a call from May who states that they should meet him for a demonstration on his fire engine. They set off concluding their part by stating that they fell in love with their cars with Clarkson gaining overall victory. They're rally times times are:

Clarkson and Hammond discover May setting up a fire near the road, and accuse him cheating, to which the latter orders them to set up his Bush Fire. They agree and set up the fire in the middle of nowhere, however due to May living up to his Captain Slow title, the Bush Fire grows to immense size. This proves too difficult for May's fire engine, who eventually runs out of all his supplies. This results in the Croatian Fire Brigade to turn in their fire plane, which not only puts out the fire but destroys the Fire Lada in the process.

Back at the Tent, Clarkson claims overall victory for the TT, due to it beating the Nomad and states that May lost as the real Fire Brigade had to assist him.

Track Test [ ]

Hammond makes his second visit to the Eboladrome for a test of the brand new McLaren 720S . He praises the Car's speed, handling, styling, comfort, drift ability and technology concluding that it's Utterly Brilliant. Back in the tent Clarkson disputes these claims and after Eaton, sets a time of 1:17.9 around the Eboladrome, the 3rd fastest at the time, Clarkson points out that the 720S is no faster than outgoing 650S.

Conversation Street [ ]

Stint: Hammond plays a Trombone while his colleagues look irritated.

In a special edition of Conversation Street , the presenters host the Nigel Awards. The awards were as follows:

This week, British classical singers Alfie Boe and Michael Ball in a battle of the "Fastest Classical Singer in the world who has a connection to the British Motor Industry" with Ball triumphing on the Damp Track with a time of 1:23.3 over Boe's 1:24.4.

The Grand Tour Trio Heading To Croatia In Episode 4

This coming Friday, the fourth episode of The Grand Tour’s second season

This coming Friday, the fourth episode of The Grand Tour’s second season will premiere on Amazon Prime and it looks set to be the perfect way to conclude 2017. The feature film of the episode will see Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May driving the Audi TT RS, Ariel Nomad, and an old Lada in Croatia , engaging in a series of challenges in the process. The idea behind the segment will be to see what the show was like if it was unscripted.

Fans of high-performance cars will be pleased to hear that ep 4 will also feature one of the fastest cars currently on sale, the McLaren 720S.

Fitted with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, the 720S delivers roughly 700 hp at the rear wheels and has proven itself to be as fast as some hybrid hypercars. Despite his recent leg injury, Richard Hammond will be piloting the new McLaren at the show’s Eboladrome where it’s sure to set a blistering lap time.

Last but not least will be Celebrity Face Off, featuring classical singers Michael Ball and Alfie Boe.

1. S02, E09 – ‘Breaking, badly’

Richard Hammond and James May attempt to set a new British water speed record for amphibious cars. A staggering 85 percent of all people who try to break records on water are killed but this doesn’t put off Clarkson, Hammond and May as they set about building their own road legal machine from an unholy union of car, boat and jet engine and then use it to spear across the choppy waters of a vast lake during something called “Coniston Speed Week”. Rated 9.9/10.

2. S02, E10 – ‘Oh, Canada’

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May reluctantly agree to test three SUVs in the rugged landscapes of Canada. Clarkson in the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, Hammond in the Porsche Macan Turbo Performance Pack and May in the Range Rover Velar. The boys will test their cars’ sporting side at a race track and their utilitarian side with some enormous dogs, before ending in an epic race across the snowy mountains. Rated 9.8/10.

3. S02, E02 – ‘The Falls Guys’

Jeremy Clarkson drives the all-new, 647 horsepower Ford GT from New York city to Niagara Falls, a trip that is made more challenging by the car’s uncompromising, racing-car-for-the-road design and by James May who, using only public transportation, is trying to beat Jeremy to the finish line. Rated 9.4/10.

4. S02, E03 – ‘Bah humbug-atti’

Jeremy Clarkson asks if Europe’s glamour set still need their jets and helicopters to fulfil a busy day of breakfasting in St Tropez, skiing in the Alps and dining in Turin or if they’d be better off with a car. And it’s not just any car because he’s testing the new, 1,479 horsepower Bugatti Chiron with an epic cross-Europe dash. Rated 9.4/10.

5. S01, E13 – Past v Future

Clarkson compares his Volkswagen Golf GTI to May’s BMW i3 with a drag race at an airstrip and a road trip from London to Dartmoor to attend a Roger Daltrey and Wilko Johnson concert. Clarkson and Hammond make May hang out with “winchers” who drive their 4x4s deep into mud. Rated 9.4/10.

6. S01, E06 – Happy Finnish Christmas

Hammond welcomes the new right-hand-drive Ford Mustang GT and gives it a tour of London and Stonehenge before Clarkson arrives and proceeds to argue that Mustang has no place in Britain and that the Ford Focus RS is a better option. Meanwhile, May talks about the historic 24 Hours of Le Mans rivalry between Ford and Ferrari, which gave birth to the Ford GT40 and the Ferrari P3. Rated 9.3/10.

7. S02, E07 – ‘It’s a gas, gas, gas’

Richard Hammond and James May work out that the average motorist loses 36 days of their lives filling up with fuel. The pair vow to do something about it using their skill and ingenuity to invent a system for filling up on the move. Rated 9.2/10.

8. S02, E01 – ‘Past, Present, or Future’

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May compare a V12-powered Lamborghini Aventador S, a hybrid Honda NSX and an all-electric Croatian supercar called the Rimac Concept One in a battle of past, present and future, set against the dramatic and car-unfriendly backdrop of Switzerland. Rated 9.2/10.

9. S02, E06 – ‘Jaaaaaaaags’

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May set out to prove that old Jaguars are not only stylish and roguish but also strong and reliable with a road trip across Colorado. Along the way, they set laps around a punishing dirt track and test 0-100-0 performance at America’s highest commercial airport before embarking on one of the most perilous challenges they’ve ever attempted.  Rated 8.9/10.

10. S02, E08 – ‘Blasts from the Past’

Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond visit some evocative old motorsport locations in Europe using a pair of re-born 1950s sports cars, painstakingly rebuilt by their manufacturers to the original designs. With Clarkson in the Aston Martin DB4 GT lightweight and Hammond in the Jaguar XKSS, the pair start their adventure on the street circuit in Pau, France before their fun is interrupted by the arrival of James May in a modern Honda Civic Type R which he insists is better in every way. Rated 8.9/10.

11. S01, E12 – [Censored] to [Censored]

The presenters travel to Wank, Germany, where May in a Bentley Bentayga, Clarkson in a Range Rover, and Hammond in a Jaguar F-Pace plan a road trip on the Romantic Road via Kissing, Bavaria, then Petting, Bavaria, to Fucking, Austria. After passing Landsberg Prison and staying overnight in Fucking, Clarkson and Hammond suggest to May that they should skip Wedding (Berlin) and head for the Nürburgring instead. Rated 8.9/10.

12. S01, E03 – Opera, Art and Donuts

The presenters go “Grand Touring” in Italy with May in the Rolls-Royce Dawn, Clarkson in the Aston Martin DB11 and Hammond in the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. Clarkson and May’s tour starts at the Palio di Siena horse race, before viewing The Birth of Venus painting at Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Clarkson and Hammond race each other the Mugello Circuit. Rated 8.9/10.

13. S02, E05 – ‘Up, down and round the farm’

Jeremy Clarkson decides to make one of those Ken Block-style car skidding videos that are very popular on the internet using an old Subaru and a suitable swathe of English farmland. His endeavours are swiftly dismantled by Richard Hammond and James May who are on hand in the studio tent to reveal some of the embarrassing behind-the-scenes footage. Rated 8.8/10.

14. S01, E05 – Morroccan Roll

To settle an argument over the best sports car, the presenters go to Marrakech, Morocco to compare the Mazda MX-5, the Zenos E10S and the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider. During the road trip Clarkson suddenly pulls over due to a leg cramp while driving the 4C. Later, he challenges Hammond and May to weigh their cars to prove that the 4C is lighter, using an improvised scale and animal carcasses as counterweight. Rated 8.8/10.

15. S01, E07&08 – The Beach (Buggy) Boys

The presenters are set a challenge by their producer, Andy Wilman, who wishes to show that beach buggies are poor vehicles. Their challenge is to drive one thousand miles (1,600 km) along Namibia’s Skeleton Coast in three beach buggies, each built to their personal specifications but all derived from the Volkswagen Beetle. Rated 8.7/10.

16. S01, E01 – The Holy Trinity

In this very first episode of The Grand Tour , Clarkson, Hammond and May testing three hybrid hypercars; the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and Ferrari LaFerrari at the Algarve International Circuit in Portugal. Rated 8.5/10.

17. S01, E09 – Berks To The Future

The tent is within the courtyard of Ludwigsburg Palace, where Clarkson praises Germany as the “cradle of the automobile.” May reviews the new Honda NSX. Clarkson fuses the body of a 1978 MGB Roadster with the chassis of a Land Rover Discovery to make a “proper” sport utility vehicle, but when the MG body falls off, he replaces it with a 1980s Mercedes-Benz SL. Rated 8.5/10.

18. S01, E02 – Operation Desert Stumble

Producer Andy Wilman sends the presenters to the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Centre (KASOTC) outside Amman, Jordan for a SAS-style military training exercise. Rated 8.3/10.

19. S01, E10 – Dumb Fight at the O.K. Coral

The presenters then travel to Barbados to solve the problem of dying corals by dumping five car body shells into the ocean, but they lose two cars and a fishing boat on their first attempt before they are forced out of the premises by authorities. They manage to drop two cars into the reef site, and May is assigned to anchor them down while Clarkson and Hammond go jet skiing. Rated 8.0/10.

20. S01, E11 – Italian Lessons

To prove that a second-hand Maserati priced under £8,000 are a better buy than a Ford Focus, the presenters travel to Circuit de Croix-en-Ternois in France for a series of tests with Clarkson’s Biturbo S Coupé, Hammond’s 430 Saloon, and May’s Zagato Spyder. Because May injured his right arm prior to the challenge, he bought an automatic variant. The presenters then embark on a road trip through Northern France. Rated 8.0/10.

21. S01, E04 – Enviro-mental

The presenters travel to South Wales and set out to make the most environmentally friendly car bodies using the platform of a Land Rover Discovery. They take an 11 mile road trip to a dirt track, where they race against three normal cars. The idea of environmentally friendly car bodies is abandoned after Clarkson’s meat car is infested with maggots, Hammond’s garden car catches fire, and May’s mud and hay car falls apart. Rated 7.8/10.

22. S02, E04 – ‘Unscripted’

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May attempt to show what would happen if  The Grand Tour  made a completely unscripted film with no pre-arranged locations, no set-up stunts, and no planned incidents. 23. S02 Mini-Special – ‘Feed the World’

In this mini-special, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May take it upon themselves to try and end world hunger with an incredible journey across Mozambique. The three notice that people in the coastal regions of this country are well-fed on the bountiful supplies of fish from the ocean, while those in the interior exist on the brink of hunger. Their solution is to find a way to transport that fish inland but, predictably, they cannot agree on the best method to do this. Rated 5.7/10.

Mozambique last !? This was for me the best and funniest of all the episodes!

I thought enviro-mental was one of the highlights in season one,although what James built was stupid and just not funny.They should re-do that episode except this time they all follow Richard Hammond’s concept idea.

Really disappointed with the mini special, was looking forward to it all series, think next time they should do a normal 2hr special cos that 1 was rubbish an just felt rushed :/

Yeah so was I to be honest. I wonder if carting around such a large crew puts a limit on how far they can go or what they’re able to do.

feels like all they do is talking while driving. usually we would’ve see them detour, buying souvenirs, ‘upgrading’ their vehicles, enjoying the view, etcetera etcetera

Jeremy Clarkson & The Grand Tour Filming on Island of Pag

Former Top Gear stars Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have made their way to the island of Pag to continue filming for their series The Grand Tour.

The trio is currently filming episodes of their new show The Grand Tour which they started following their departures from the BBC series Top Gear.

Clarkson, Hammond and May arrived in Zagreb on Monday from London, before visiting Plitvice Lakes and Zadar this week. On Tuesday they started filming on the island of Pag.

Clarkson posted a photo on his Instagram page from Pag.

Today’s exotic filming location in Novalja on the island Pag has already been the backdrop to filming for car giants Mercedes, BMW, and Porsche in the past.

According to Novi List , filming took place in a unique part of Novalja, and on the road linking the ferry dock Žigljen and Novalja.

The Grand Tour's James May confirms when final ever episode will air

After eight years, The Grand Tour is coming to an end, with one final special on the way later this year - and we finally know just when we can expect it to arrive on Prime Video .

This is thanks to James May, who has revealed the month of release while speaking during a live recording of The Today Podcast with Amol Rajan and Nick Robinson.

During the interview, May said of the final episode of The Grand Tour: "I’m not allowed to tell you what date it’s coming out, so I won’t say that it’s September. I can say anything I want now, frankly."

May also spoke on the emotional nature of the filming and recording for the final episode, and said he didn't expect to ever make another series about cars with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond.

He said: "I recorded today the last piece of voice-over I will ever record for The Grand Tour – and therefore in that whole legacy of Grand Tour, Top Gear and the few things I did before that.

"We’ve done it for nearly 22 years – a lot longer than we thought we would. I thought, when I started doing it in 2003 or 2004, that this was a bit of a laugh. Maybe it’ll last a few years.

"And, here we are, grey and wizened and sagging. And we’ve only just stopped doing it. It’s quite remarkable."

We already know that the final episode of The Grand Tour will be set in Zimbabwe, though little else is known about what we can expect.

May previously said he "wouldn’t rule out" a reunion with Clarkson and Hammond in another show, but added that "you do have to bear in mind that we’re all getting on a bit".

He continued: "I have been doing it for 20 years plus, and I don’t think any of us ever thought it would last that long."
