Hard Enduro features a heavy emphasis on the precise and technical riding abilities required to tackle steep hill climbs and descents, deep mud, water crossings, and whatever challenging obstacles the jungle and mountains might throw at us.

We are proud to announce that, as of 2024, the regional government has approved Pai Enduro as primary sponsors for Pai’s annual enduro competition, a step we have taken to renumerate the Thai riders who work so hard to make this race happen.

As a result, we’ve partnered with organizations like Wild Response, a US-based conservation NGO dedicated to saving species in peril by improving the lives of wildlife rangers and the communities they serve around the world. Run by Special Forces veterans, Wild Response provides critical medical and mobility training to wildlife rangers worldwide.

Are you a seasoned biker thirsty for adventure? Do you love the idea of riding on unbeaten tracks? Embark on an adventure, where you’ll discover a region of Thailand unlike any other. This 10-day motorcycle tour in Thailand , with an off-road focus and intense pace, takes you on tracks where no motorcycle has ever been. We leave from Chiang Mai and gradually push deeper into the jungle on our trusty Royal Enfields. Riding almost exclusively on jungle paths, trails and small tracks, our itinerary passes through the heart of Northern Thailand’s lush nature. Once trodden by elephants during the Silk Route era, this circuit takes us back in time from village to village, as we encounter the indigenous tribes of the enchanting Thai mountains.

YOUR MOTORCYCLE TOUR IN THAILAND 10 stages - 900 miles

You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. You can use this first day to explore Chiang Mai, a large city in northern Thailand. Overnight stay in a standard hotel in the city centre.

We set off for our Adventure with a capital “A”! We make our way out of Chiang Mai and venture onto small paved mountain roads. One curve after the other, we get used to our Royal Enfield motorcycle. After lunch, off-road starts! Overnight stay at standard guest house.

From trekking paths to Enduro tracks, from Hmong villages to Karen or Lahu villages, our adventure is in full swing. We take our cue from the elephants, following them along the path of the famous Silk Route. Overnight in a standard hotel in the city center.

This morning we ride along the border and enjoy a break at a local café. From there we're in for a serious change of scenery when we reach the well-known Mae Hong Son loop and its 1,864 bends! All too soon we are back on the mud tracks and fording streams on our way to Mae Hong Son city. Overnight stay in a comfortable hotel.

Waking up with a view over the City of Three Mists is magnificent, inviting us to push on deeper into the jungle on the smallest damaged paved roads, then pushing forth the smallest paths possible. From one national park to another, we ride along endless ridges until we reach the small Khun Yuam valley. Overnight stay in a standard guesthouse.

We ease into this long leg by heading south for around twelve miles on the famous road with 1,864 bends. This chain of beautiful large curves is a real feast for the eyes in the morning light. Then it's time to go off-road! In true Red Bull Romaniacs fashion, you'll learn to handle your old Royal Enfield on the country’s most difficult tracks. Overnight stay in a comfortable accommodation.

Yesterday’s leg was the perfect taster session for what’s in store today: the joys of the way-too-small tracks and frightening drops continue to enthrall us today. It feels like we have lost our way as we have spent the last few days riding southwards. Villages such as Lahu, Lao, and Shan seem to become rarer and our presence stranger still. At last we arrive in Mae Sariang, where we get the chance to relax on the banks of its river. Overnight stay in a comfortable hotel.

We depart at dawn and ease into the day on the Mae Hong Son loop. Once we're warmed up for the ride, we head east into the Mae Ngao National Park’s jungles. From there we set out to conquer the two mountain ranges separating us from Op Luang National Park; these uninhabited jungles become our playground for the day. Overnight stay in a standard accommodation.

We head north on our last riding day. After a short time we reach the Op Luang National Park, which offers us stunning tracks. Without even realising it, we reach Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest mountain with an altitude of 2,550 m. We finally come back to Northern Thailand’s main city: Chiang Mai. Overnight stay in a standard hotel.

Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time to enjoy a few more hours in Chiang Mai. You’re transferred to the International Airport.

Thailand offroad motorcycle tour – northern loop

The northern loop of Thailand, with the border areas being mountains, provide some superb opportunities for an off road Thailand motorcycle tour, skirting the edges of Laos & Myanmar. The mountains make perfect, natural, international borders, without the need for fences or walls. Only off road trails carved by the ethnic locals, enable us to link towns on dirt bikes.

We can put together an off-road motorcycle tour for you in Thailand combining challenging single tracks and fast flowing connecting trails, ideal for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the rat race.

This is one of the connecting trails we use on our off road Thailand motorcycle tour loops.

Leaving the city of Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, we get out of the city & then head towards Chiang Rai to the north east. The trails take us through numerous ethnic villages of Akha, Lisu & Hmong tribal people.

There some excellent off road trails around Chiang Rai, so we spend 2 nights in Chiang Rai, riding some single track loop on the second Day.

As you can see from the photo above, we use Honda CRF 250 L & Kawasaki KLX 150 motorcycles for these Thailand off road motorcycle tours, the KLX 150’s are ideal for shorter people.

After 2 nights in Chiang Rai , we head off road on the dirt trails towards Fang on the Myanmar border. There is some unusual mountain top trail riding, giving views that go on forever.

From Fang , on this Thailand off road motorcycle tour, we head towards the bustling town of Pai on some unusual trails. Pai has become quite famous from a string of Asian movies using it as location. The town has a lovely evening temperature always cooler than most other locations, giving a good nights sleep ready for more challenging dirt trail riding the following day.

From Pai we have several off road riding options to get back to Chiang Mai, all are doable in daylight. Most riders, on our off road motorcycle tours in Thailand prefer the harder dirt trails from Pai to Chiang Mai, where there are some fun single track sections to keep the mind occupied to keep you upright. Again, another day with fantastic views, small hidden villages and great motorcycle dirt trail riding.

We are a fully licenced tour company with over 30 years experience of organising guided motorcycle tours in the North of Thailand and Laos.

We cater for ALL levels of ability and have an excellent safety record. Anyone who is comfortable riding a motorcycle can complete our standard tours. If you want more of a challenge we can oblige.

WHY.. choose Thailand and WHY us?

Thailand has it all for an adventure holiday! Fantastic weather, great food, wonderful people, cultures and superb accommodation.

We have some incredible mountainous scenery with tracks and trails everywhere and all open for riding! Our tours are designed to immerse you in all of this, we’ll ride at your pace and take plenty of stops.

We aim to arrive at our daily destination with time to spare for you to shower/get a massage/ drink a cold beer before dinner. We have a Thai and English speaking tour guide who will ride with you and a backup truck for groups of 4 or more.

Tours and dates can also be tailored to suit your dates and ability but we require bookings of 4 or more.

WHAT.. bikes will you ride and WHAT should you bring?

We own and self maintain a fleet of Honda CRF250’s. We keep them in excellent running order and never let tyres get worn out. We never use hire bikes as it’s impossible to know their history.

We do not, as a rule, supply riding gear but we do have a selection of safety gear left behind by previous customers. We encourage you to bring your own gear.

We provide basic insurance to cover our legal requirements but would encourage you to provide yourself with comprehensive insurance. Also bring a sense of humour; we’ll have a lot of fun!

WHERE.. are we based?

Our ”Basecamp” is 32km North of Chaing Mai in the heart of Thailand’s best riding areas. We pick you up from the airport or your Chiang Mai hotel and drop you off at the end of the tour. Many customers leave us to relax on a beach in the South for a week. Flights from here are easy.

WHEN.. is the best time to come?

The standard tour dates are all in what is typically the dry season which should be mid October to March. We are though, happy to provide tours outside of these dates for groups of 4 or more.

The skies and scenery are lush in the rainy season and rain is ”usually” limited to a couple of hours in the afternoon but can get much wetter in April and September.

Trails are much more challenging out of dry season.

About Siam Enduro

We are a fully licensed tour company. TAT licence no. 23-0772. We are probably the oldest enduro tour company in northern Thailand.

Our founder, Walter Fenske, was born in Germany and came to visit Thailand for two month in 1988. After his second visit the same year, he moved to Thailand. The next five years he rented out motorcycles and founded a motorcycle garage together with Josef Sauerborn, known as “Joe”. During this time he started to explore northern Thailand by motorcycle.

In 1994 he founded “Siam Bike Travel” and was the first fully licensed motorcycle tour operator. 1995 he was invited by David Uncovich to join a survey tour from northern Thailand through Laos into southern China, just shortly after Laos opened up and allowed traveling overland again, which was not possible since 1974.

Since 1996 Walter has been running Enduro Tours in northern Thailand and to Laos for several European Motorcycle Tour operators. To this day, Walter prefers to lead his Tour groups by himself, speaks Thai and Lao fluently and can look back to more than 30 years of experience.

10 years ago Walter and Joang, his wife set up a new “base camp” 30 kms north of Chiang Mai.

Six Bungalows  in a beautiful garden setting are available to our tour customers. Off roads and tracks from “mild to wild” are just in front of our gate and guarantee unforgettable trips during the day. In the evening excellent Thai dinner, cooked and served by Joang, before we take a seat at the campfire and enjoy life.

We don’t include dinner as most people like to go and explore the evening locations and taste varies massively between Thai style or western style. We will give you some fabulous recommendations though either way.

Not seeing something you want?…. Just ask us and I am sure we can facilitate your needs.

On our off-road tours, we offer the CRF250 that are fully and professionally customized to the terrain we will be riding. We also have a selection of KLX 250’s now available for those that would prefer it and a KLX150 for the shorter riders . We make our bikes durable so we can carry on in almost any circumstances. They are great fun to ride and with our set up have a good punch to blast your round the dirt.

On our Adventure tours, we use the CB500X adapted to suit more adventure-based riding, being relatively light with great suspension they are a blast to push hard and road both on and off road.

Yes of course, we can source other bikes, but the prices are likely to be considerably higher due to additional costs, taxes and legislation requirements.

We are all about the personal service, so we aim for around 10 riders or less. If you are part of a larger group, that is not a problem. Just contact us to arrange and will organize everything for you and deduct 10% from the organizer’s price, after all, he did all the work for everybody else.

Yes of course, who knows you might make some new friends while you’re riding too. Alternatively, if you want a one on one tour we can also arrange this for you.

We accept all major currencies via various methods including Paypal, Cash, Debit/Credt Card Transactions

All damages or failures should be reported immediately. For our off-road tours, you are covered for cosmetic damages in most circumstances. We are dirt bikers, so we know that everybody has a tumble now and then. We are not going to charge you for minor marks here and there. Ride our bikes like they are your own and you won’t have any problems or anything to worry about. Some charges do apply for parts such as radiators but we have a full disclosure form upon sign up for complete transparency On the road, you are liable for the first 50,000 THB of damages (we cover the rest) except in the case of a right off (never happened yet).

The offroad riding in Thailand is second to none.  You feel like you are truly on an adventure all week as you traverse unique terrain every single day.  On top of that you will get to ride some of the best roads in the world in between the trail systems.  All of our offroad tour guests leave saying that the road riding was one of their favorite parts!  You will not be bored!

Mountain top temples, forest monasteries, and garden sanctuaries; there is no shortage of places for body and mind to escape. Breath deep as we take you from thrill to chill in Northern Thailand.

Eat like a local! The food in Thailand is legendary.  We'll take you to handpicked vendors at our favorite night markets and host intimate family style dinners prepared just for our groups.  You'll stuff your face with food so delicious you'll have an out of body experience.

The sights, sounds, and smells of Northern Thailand are intoxicating. Visit waterfalls, caves, and cliffside restaurants with misty mountain views. You won't be ready to leave..in fact some of our guests don't!

Northern Thailand has some of the most epic off road riding in the world. The stunning mountains, beautiful scenery, and amazing local people make it the perfect location for motorbike exploration. During our adventure, we will ride through hill tribe villages and visit temples rarely seen by western visitors.

Many offroad tours around the world stay in one spot with routes consisting of a"cloverleaf" pattern, returning to the same spot every night. Not us. We stay in FIVE different locations to maximize your experience and give you the adventure of a lifetime!

Each day consists of new terrain...flowy double track, technical singe track, hill climbs, and river crossings are all part of the fun. We only accept expert level riders for two reasons:

1.) We ride deep in the jungle, far from medical attention, so we need everyone to be very comfortable on their machine.

2.) We want to ensure all riders have a great time and carry a decent pace so we can reach out destination at a reasonable time each evening.

Day 1 - Sunday

Chiang Mai is literally three times the age of the USA! It’s an ancient and beautiful city with a lot to see, it’s a hot spot for tourists from all over the world.  Sunday can spent enjoying one of our many activities from a tour of a temple on the mountain overlooking the city, an authentic Thai cooking class, or even a Muay Thai lesson!  You can also choose to just explore Chiang Mai on your own and get acclimated before a week of riding.

The real adventure, however, lies beyond the mountains in the Chiang Mai skyline...and we can't wait to show you!

Day 2 - Monday

Mae Sariang

Our first stop after a long-ish first day on fun and flowy double track throughout the day as well as some amazing sections of supermoto style roads that connect the trails.  This is the perfect day to get acclimated to our custom built CRF300L's and gain confidence as we venture into the remote reaches of Thailand.  Your hotel in Mae Sariang overlooks a serene flowing river.  This is where the sights and sounds of Thailand truly begin to take over your senses.   The days only get exponentially better from here!

Day 3 - Tuesday

Mae Hong Son

Bring your boot dryers!  We'll see a part of Northern Thailand accessible by very few intrepid adventurers and witness some incredible villages amidst a river flowing through the jungle.  There are well over 100 river crossings so, like we said, bring your boot dryers!

Mae Hong Son is way off the map and it is a guest (and guide) favorite!  You'll enjoy amazing street food and, if you're an early riser, one of the most beautiful sunrises from a temple on the mountain overlooking the peaceful city.

Day 4 - Wednesday

If you love single track, you'll finally get your taste of some riding that can only be described as legendary.  We'll ride towards the border of Myanmar, make a truly unique lunch stop, and then back down the mountains into the unique Bohemian mountain town of Pai.  Once in Pai, you'll find a busting night life that will leave you lusting for more and considering extending your trip in Thailand if you hadn't already!

Day 5 - Thursday

The morning starts off with one of our most beautiful single track trails deep in the jungle to get you warmed up for a day of amazing flowy single track and maybe a few technical sections to get your blood flowing!

Once we arrive in Mae Win you'll get a once in a lifetime personal experience at our friends elephant sanctuary and experience an intimate family style meal that leaves everyone feeling full in the stomach and their heart!  This is a truly special day of not only trail riding but also of Thailand culture.

Day 6 - Friday

We take our guests on some *optional* challenging single track in the morning on our way to a majestic temple in the mountainous forest.  After that it's an amazing lunch at one of our favorite local restaurants and then a truly memorable trail that leads us back into Chiang Mai.  We end the week with a group dinner that can't be missed and then a few optional, but highly encouraged, after dinner activities!

Day 7 - Saturday

Journey Home...or stay in Thailand!

Nurse that hangover, or just general soreness from riding for five days, and begin your journey home.  If you are staying in Thailand longer we can help you make the most of your trip...just ask!

Not only is it biking heaven but with BBT looking after your meals every plate that arrived made it feel like a food tour. We ate along with the locals as well as carefully selected restaurants. Khao Soi being my favourite dish of Northern Thailand. The hotels on this trip were immaculate with the staff being attentive, each rider in their own room and a cold beer waiting on you. Once we are about 30 km out we start taking the secondary and back roads making our way on some single tracks throughout the day.

Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way.

From Thoeng we head off road into the mountains on some single tracks. We then take the mountain twisty roads to Phu Chi Fah for a visit.

From Phu Chi Fah we are off road again to Pang Hat where we take secondary road to Wiang Kaen and relax at our charming accommodation.

Day 2. Wiang Kaen to Chiang Saen .

Km 190. 50% off road – 50% on road.*

Staying right on highway 4007 we make our way along the river on and off road to Chiang Saen and the Golden Triangle.

We stop for a visit in Chiang Saen. Here we will take on some history and a visit to a temple. A must see would be the Pagoda Wat Prathat Pra Ngao this temple sits high atop the mountain prior to entering Chiang Saen.

Have a chat to the local Monk who speaks English.

Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way. We leave Chiang Saen for a visit to the Golden Triangle, House of Opium Museum and maybe a boat trip on the Mekong river if time is available.

Here we spend the night with a short trip back to Chiang Saen at which point we will relax and enjoy quiet evening in the border town.

Day 3. Chiang Saen to Mong Khao Laung hilltribe village

Km 250. 50% off road – 50% on road.*

After breakfast we head off to Mae Sai leaving the Mekong behind.

Before heading up the mountains we will visit Wat Thum Pla where you can feed some wild monkeys.

We then make our way back towards Mae Sai and up the mountain along the border between Thailand and Myanmar through police check points.

Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way. On this leg of the trip we will immerse you into the Ahka hill tribe.

Here you start to see a lot more of the real Thailand. We make our way off and on road to a Ahka hill tribe village where we spend the night.

Here you help and learn some of their cooking methods and culture. After dinner we just relax and enjoy the people's company for the evening. 

Day 4. Mong Khao Laung, Akha hilltribe village to Thaton.

Km 230. 50% off road – 50% on road.*.

Again traveling these  beautiful  mountain roads where en route we will visit the Botanical Gardens, Doi Tung Royal Villa.

Then on to Doi Mae Salong for a taste of the teas from the Chinese tea farmers.

We then make our way to Thaton on and off road. When we reach Thaton we relax at our inviting accommodation.

Day 5. Thaton to Ban Laung.

 Km 220. 50% off road – 50% on road.*

Then we make our way on some amazing off road tracks and mountain roads to Ban Laung.

On this leg of the tour you can spend all day just exploring the off road tracks. Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way. After spending the day in the mountains around the border of Myanmar we make our way to Ban Laung for a relaxing night at your accommodations again in another border town.

Day 6. Ban Laung to Chiang Rai.

After breakfast we start our way back to Chiang Rai again on and off road on some single tracks and mountain roads.

Today we will take it a little easy and get you back to Chiang Rai as some may need to catch flights or just to relax at your accommodation for some ever lasting memories and hopefully make some new friends.

7 Day 6 Night Off Road CRF tour

After breakfast we leave Chiang Rai making our way east. Once we are about 30 km out we start taking the secondary and back roads making our way on some single tracks throughout the day.

From Thoeng we head off road into the mountains on some single tracks. We then take the mountain's twisty roads to Phu Chi Fah for a visit.

From Phu Chi Fah we are off road again to Pang Hat where we take secondary road to Wiang Kaen and relax at our refreshing accommodation.

Day 2. Wiang Kaen to Chiang Saen.

*All kilometers are dependent on customer's interests and road conditions. 

Staying right on highway 4007 we make our way along the river on and off road to Chiang Saen and the Golden Triangle. We stop for a Visit in Chiang Saen.

Again traveling these mountain roads is beautiful.

We then make our way to Thaton on and off road. When we reach Thaton we relax at the recommended accommodation.

After breakfast before leaving Thaton we will visit Wat Thaton a top the mountain to enjoy the morning view.

Then we make our way on some amazing off road tracks and mountain roads to Ban Laung. On this leg of the tour you can spend all day just exploring the off road tracks.

Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way. After spending the day in the mountains around the border of Myanmar we make our way to Ban Laung for a relaxing night at your accommodations again in a border town.

Day 6. Ban Laung to Karen hill tribe village near Doi Ngam.

After breakfast we are back on the twisty, mountain roads and single tracks heading east.

Day 7. Karen hill tribe village/Doi Ngam to Chiang

Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way. We will take it a little easy and get you back to Chiang Rai as some may need to catch flights or just to relax at your accommodations for some ever lasting memories and hopefully some new friends. 

8 Day 7 Night Off Road CRF tour

From Thoeng we head off road into the mountains on some single tracks. We then take the mountain's twisty roads to Phu Chi Fah.

From Phu Chi Fah we are off road again to Pang Hat where we take secondary road to Wiang Kaen and relax at your accommodation.

Day 2. Wiang Kaen to Chiang Saen

After breakfast we head to Chiang Khong where we meet up with the mighty Mekong and keep it at our shoulder throughout the day.

We stop for a Visit in Chiang Saen. Here we will take on some history and a visit to a temple. A must see would be the Pagoda Wat Prathat Pra Ngao this Temple sits high atop the mountain prior to entering Chiang Saen.

Day 3. Chiang Saen to Mong Khao Laung hill tribe village.

Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way. On this leg of the trip we will immerse you into some Thai and local hill tribe culture with the Ahka hill tribe. Here you start to see a lot more of the real Thailand. We make our way off and on road to a Ahka hill tribe village where we spend the night. Again traveling these mountain roads is beautiful. In route we will visit the Botanical Gardens, Doi Tung Royal Villa and of course stop in Doi Mae Salong for a taste of the teas from the Chinese tea farmers.

Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way. We then make our way to Thaton on and off road. When we reach Thaton we relax at out desired accommodation.

After breakfast before leaving Thaton we will visit Wat Tha Ton a top the mountain to enjoy the morning view.

Now we make our way on some amazing off road tracks and mountain roads to Ban Laung. On this leg of the tour you can spend all day just exploring the off road tracks. Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way. After spending the day in the mountains around the border of Myanmar we make our way to Ban Laung for a relaxing night at your delightful accommodations again in another border town.

After breakfast we are back on the twisty mountain roads and single tracks heading east now.

Day 7. Doi Ngam to Phayao.

After breakfast we head out from Doi Ngam on some single tracks and country roads to Phayao.

On this leg of our tour we spend the day exploring.

We make our way to Phayao for a relaxing evening by the lake. Here we enjoy a local dish of fresh water prawns taken from the lake fresh every day. Now relax at your resplendent accommodation.

Day 8. Phayao to Chiang Rai.

After breakfast we start our way back to Chiang Rai on and off road on some single tracks and mountain roads.

This day we will take it a little easy and get back to Chiang Rai as some may need to catch flights or just to relax at your accommodations for some ever lasting memories and hopefully some new friends.

The Eastern Thailand Isan Adventure Tour

This incredible six-day adventure tour takes you to key cities and hotspots in Thailand’s Eastern region often referred to as ‘ISAN’ via the very best adventure riding routes that we at Motorbike Madness are famous for.

The riding on this tour is truly awesome and full of flowing twisty scenic roads and off-road wooded tree-lined tracks. Stunning viewpoints and photogenic locations.

We take you to the heart of these delightful Eastern cities where the rich culture and history is in abundance. Visit the beautiful Han Kumphawapi lake famed for the stunning Pink Lilies. Marvel at one of the most splendid ancient city ruins. Our fabulous selected route guides you through ancient weaving villages and alongside the Ubolratana Dam and through the heart of the amazing Khao Yai National Park. Allied with our carefully selected lunch stop venues and well-appointed relaxing hotels. This tour really showcases the splendour of the Eastern region and it will deliver on all your riding expectations. As with all of our Thailand motorcycle tours you will experience wondrous memories that will remain with you forever.

DAY 1: Pattaya to Nakhon Ratchasima 348km

Travelling up to Nakhon Ratchasima on the panoramic back roads passing lakes and glorious countryside. Great twisty winding roads are a key feature of this beautiful region. We guide you through some technical off-road sections here which present an opportunity to test your skills as we pass through rubber trees and wooded areas.

We will ride the curvy and serene lakeside road around the Khlong Si Yat reservoir with a scenic photo spot. There will be a nice lunch venue selected for you, called the “relax” for a well-earned break. Then we guide you to ride an amazing off-road track to the elevated wooded viewpoint to take in the striking views from this platform. Savouring all your experiences of this incredible day, we arrive at your selected comfortable hotel conveniently located close to restaurants and the Night Bazaar.

Nakhon Ratchasima is one of the major cities in the Isaan region and is locally known as Korat. It is also well renowned for its silk weaving, clay pottery and a variety of quality handicrafts. Situated close to Khao Yai National Park, it has an abundance of attractions and places of interest.

DAY 2: Nakhon Ratchasima to Khon Kaen 244km

After a nice evening rested we are back in the saddle and we’re on our way, stunning scenery awaits you as we ride today twisty route. Stepping back in time as we pass through traditional Thai villages with their charismatic charm.

We will have a pitstop to see the remains of the ancient city at the Phimai Historical Park. We will take you for a brief walk around the structures which have been beautifully preserved, it’s a fantastic photo opportunity.

We will then ride the flowing twisty route to the Chi River arriving at today’s lunch stop, the beautiful Naramit Na Café with fabulous garden views, bamboo walkway and Italian inspired ornate statues.

Continuing on we will arrive near the university city of Khon Kaen for our evening stopover and well-appointed hotel.

Khon Kaen is a vibrant and funky town that offers many restaurants, bars and cafes. There are two major rivers, the Pong and the Chi running through it. The ornate city park is a focal point with its beautiful relaxed atmosphere, a perfect location for a walk. Khon Kaen is one of the four major cities in the Isaan region and is famed for its high-quality silk production.

DAY 3: Khon Kaen to Udon Thani via the Sakon Nakhon loop – 348km

Today’s selected looping route takes you to the best spots of this region linked together for a spectacular ride including one of Thailand's best riders roads. We guide you through the Marahat Park, this is an excellent stop point for pictures of the beautiful landscape with its panoramic lake views and diverse wildlife.

You will travel over the 2km long elevated Thepsuda Bridge over the Lam Pao river below. This is the perfect time to take in the selected coffee stop break and capture those photo memories.

Now for a real motorcycle experience as you ride one of the most famous Thailand bikers dream roads, consistently voted as one of the best motorcycle roads anywhere in the world. With plenty of cliff top viewpoints, we ride the twisty free-flowing roads past the awe-inspiring Nam Phung lake.

After a relaxing lunch and refreshments, we continue this exciting loop ride.

However, before this most memorable day concludes, we visit the spectacular Nong Han Kumphawapi lake famed for the stunning Pink Lilies, also known as the Red Lotus Lake and treat ourselves to a photo opportunity in this most picturesque location.

We will arrive at our designated hotel situated in the thriving city of Udon Thani to relax and unwind for the evening after a.

The scenic twisty roads continue as this truly fantastic day’s riding concludes in the thriving city of Udon Thani. Time to relax and unwind for the evening.

Udon Thani is a modern, vibrant and cosmopolitan city with lots of amenities and interesting nightlife. This area is well known for breeding orchids and their scents are also used to make perfume. The city is situated amongst rice fields and forests and has a fabulous city park named Nong Prachak, which has a beautiful lake with a central garden of plants and a pathed walkway for exercising during the morning sunrise and evening sunset. It’s well worth a visit.

As always our selected hotel here is very chilled and close to all the restaurants, amenities and nightlife.

DAY 4: Udon Thani to Chaiyaphum – 258km

Day 5: chaiyaphum to pak chong 259km.

After a hearty breakfast, we depart and it’s not long before we’re back into the heavenly countryside and super flowing back roads of this region. We have skillfully linked together with another super scenic epic ride.

As we ride the trail around the beautiful Pasak River, our guides will point out the elevated Khoksalung railway bridge running over the lake. Its elegant design will impress. This tranquil location makes an excellent location for a riverside lunch stop.

We continue the ride passing temples and beautiful scenery into tonight’s hotel in Pak Chong, but not before we take you through a stunning tree tunnel avenue. It’s been another fantastic and memorable day's ride for sure.

Pak Chong is the most vibrant of towns in the heart of the expansive National Park region. The selected hotel is located on the edge of the National Park where you can soak away the journey and relax in the beautiful surroundings.

DAY 6: Pak Chong to Pattaya via Khao Yai National Park – 270km

This is the home leg of the tour and it’s simply stunning, it will blow you away and finish the tour in style. Khao Yai is one of the best and largest National Parks within Thailand. The road which runs through the centre is a magnet for motorcyclists who find the scenic tight fast curves a real challenge. There are also many excellent photo opportunities in the park and lakeside stop points. The fresher air and cooler temperatures make it a natural home for an abundance of impressive wildlife including elephants and monkeys and many bird species, which can be seen around this magical environment of over 2000 km².

The route is skillfully linked together to perfection, so you really experience the very best from your adventure tour as we meander south back towards home base.

We will then guide you through the renowned local bikers dream district of Bo Thong. Here are some of the best flowing sweeping bends locally to our Southeastern region. The limestone mountains are magnificent to ride alongside whilst taking in the splendour of these roads for a well-earned break, before arriving safely back at the Motorbike Madness HQ.

We also both have long term Thai partners whom are licenced by The Tourist Authority of Thailand as official Tour Guides, thus keeping everything legal and above board. Through them we have completely immersed ourselves in the native cuisine, language and culture which totally enhances your time with us. We also benefit from the availability of a third British rider and his Thai wife guide who bring another 15+ years of Thailand riding experience to the company. A point to note is that unlike some other “big bike” touring companies, you will always be accompanied by a native English speaker plus a Thai guide so there’ll be no language confusion or issues.

We believe that you’ve earned your break and that your time with us should be hassle and worry free so our bikes are in tip-top condition and only use quality consumables such as Pirelli or Metzeler tyres, EBC brake pads and RK or DID chains. Accommodations are generally of 3 star plus and most have pools and are conveniently located if we are staying in town. We’ll take care of you without cossetting you as we know motorcyclists generally value their independence, but we are able and willing to help if or when necessary.

You’ll also notice that our tour offerings are somewhat limited if you put us up against our competitors in the region. We see this as an advantage as we have chosen to specialise and get to know Thailand, Laos and Myanmar extensively rather than spread ourselves thinly in the quest for growth by sub-contracting out tours and therefore losing the opporunity to oversee the quality being delivered. “Small is beautiful” as the saying goes. It also means that we can react quickly to requests without waiting for a reaction from a chain of command or dismissing it as it’s not on our regular tour menu.

Whilst we don’t publish dates outside of that period, we are normally available on demand to tour and the “wet” season provides great opportunities to ride and it normally doesn’t rain until late afternoon. Hell, even if you do get caught in a shower, it’s refreshing and you dry out quickly when the sun comes out again!
