This special solo performance will feature songs and stories with 12-time GRAMMY winner John Legend. Experience intimate reimaginings of his greatest hits (“All of Me,” “Ordinary People,” "Tonight"), unexpected stories from Legend's life and career, and selections from his most recent release LEGEND ("Nervous," "Wonder Woman").

A limited number of KBA Early Entry Experience passes will be available for this event.  Look for the pop up box when you add tix to your cart to add this pass. The pass must be added at time of purchase. 

KBA Early Entry Experience Includes:

EGOT-winning, critically acclaimed, multiplatinum singer-songwriter John Legend has garnered 12 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Tony Award, and an Emmy Award, among others.    

Legend is the first African American man to earn an EGOT and one of only seventeen people in the prestigious EGOT club. Legend has released eight celebrated albums over the course of his career, including, Get Lifted (2004), Once Again (2006), Evolver (2008), Love in the Future (2013), Darkness and Light (2016),  A Legendary Christmas Deluxe (2019), Bigger Love (2020) and most recently, LEGEND (2022). 

Late last year, Legend launched his critically acclaimed Las Vegas Residency entitled, “Love In Las Vegas” which began in April 2022 at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.    

Legend starred as Jesus in NBC’s JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR LIVE IN CONCERT in April 2018. That year, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie and won an Emmy as a producer in the category of Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for the show.  Legend joined THE VOICE for Season 16 (2019) and was a coach on Season 22 (2022).  

Beyond his music career, John, along with partners Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius, is a principal of Get Lifted Film Co. Their upcoming projects include the film adaptation of S.A. Cosby’s novel BLACKTOP WASTELAND, Al Sharpton’s documentary LOUDMOUTH, and the highly anticipated second season of the IFC/AMC comedy series SHERMAN’S SHOWCASE. Get Lifted produced the Netflix films JINGLE JANGLE: A CHRISTMAS JOURNEY and MONSTER, documentary films CITIZEN ASHE, THE LEGEND OF THE UNDERGROUND, A CRIME ON THE BAYOU, 40 YEARS A PRISONER and GIVING VOICE, the HBO docu-series ATLANTA’S MISSING AND MURDERED: THE LOST CHILDREN, SHERMAN’S SHOWCASE: BLACK HISTORY MONTH SPECTACULAR, and RHYTHM + FLOW. Get Lifted and Universal Studio Group’s UCP inked a first-look deal for unscripted series and an exclusive multi-year overall deal for scripted content. Aside from film/TV, they have partnered with Zando to form Get Lifted Books, under which they will publish brilliant authors, who have the ability to transform the conversation, in both adult fiction and nonfiction as well as titles for young readers.   

As an activist, Legend launched HUMANLEVEL in 2021, an initiative to uplift communities disproportionately impacted by institutionalized racism. Legend also initiated the #FREEAMERICA campaign in 2015 to change the conversation surrounding criminal justice policies and to end mass incarceration. In addition to Legend’s signature initiatives, he serves on the Board of Directors of Harlem Village Academies and Management Leadership for Tomorrow, and on the Advisory Board for The Quattrone Center for the Fair Administration of Justice at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and Teach for All.

Outside Food & Beverage are not allowed for this event.  You are allowed to bring one factory-sealed plastic bottle of water (1 per person). No glass/cans/flavored water.

Parking Information

PREMIERE PARKING:  A limited number of Premiere Parking  will be available for $25 in advance and will be sold at the event, if spaces are available. Parking spaces will be held closest to the Main gate. Pass entitles 1 car to cark in Premiere Parking section in the FRONT of the Preferred Lot.

PURCHASE PREMIERE PARKING

PREFERRED PARKING:  A limted number of Preferred Parking  will be available for $20.00 in advance and will be sold at the event, if spaces are available. Parking spaces will be held across from the Main gate. Pass entitles 1 car to park in the Preferred Parking section in the BACK of the Preferred Lot.

PURCHASE PREFERRED PARKING

Parking passes may be purchased at the box office in person, by phone through Etix or online at etix.com.  

• Parking lots open 1 hour before venue gates open.
• Purchasing a Parking Pass is NOT a ticket for the event, and is not valid for entry into the event.
• Please present your Parking Pass upon arrival. 

GENERAL PARKING:  Koka Booth Amphitheatre has approximately 1500 free spaces available.  Parking is free of charge in Amphitheatre-owned lots. Some local businesses may charge a fee for parking in their lots.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING: A limited number of accessible parking spaces are available on a first-come-first-served basis with the proper hang tag or license plate.

John Legend is set to headline a Las Vegas residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino starting next April.

On Monday, Legend shared the news on Twitter with a promotional video saying, “Get ready for Love in Las Vegas! My 2022 Vegas residency featuring your favorite songs from my entire career… full band… beautiful show…magical night.”

“Love In Las Vegas” is set to kick off April 22, 2022 and Legend will perform 24 dates from then through October 29, 2022. A press release described Legend’s upcoming residency as “a beautiful, soulful concert experience, showcasing Legend’s greatest hits.”

Fans can purchase tickets starting Monday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. PT. / 2 p.m. EST. A pre-sale for fan club members will begin Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. EST.

News of “Love In Las Vegas” comes nearly a month after Legend shared his Raphael Saadiq-produced holiday single “You Deserve It All” and revealed he had signed with major label Republic Records. In a statement, Legend said he was “excited” to partner with the label: “Everyone at the label has been so wonderful to work with. I am thrilled to take this new artistic and creative journey with them and look forward to sharing new music with people soon.”

John Legend to Launch Las Vegas Residency with LOVE IN LAS VEGAS

The concert experience is set to open at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on April 22nd.

With three weeks to go until he launches "Love In Las Vegas" at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, John Legend has been deep in rehearsals for his new Las Vegas residency, which opens Friday, April 22, 2022. As a surprise to his fans, today Legend released a video of him rehearsing with his band, giving a sneak preview of what audiences can expect from his Las Vegas show.

Designed exclusively for Zappos Theater and promoted by Live Nation and Caesars Entertainment, "Love In Las Vegas" will be a beautiful, soulful concert experience, showcasing Legend's greatest hits, "soaring vocals [and] silky-smooth piano playing skills" (Billboard). The performance will feature Legend's incredible full band and will be a vibrant, colorful celebration of love and coming together, sentiments echoed on Legend's GRAMMY Award-winning seventh studio album, Bigger Love, and companion 2021 headline tour - which resulted in multiple sold out shows and garnered rave reviews in the press.

The result is a dynamic show that perfectly encapsulates Legend’s essence — capturing his appeal as a refined performer, blending technical skill with raw emotion, and employing his extensive catalog to tell the story of his artistic journey and influences. “I think the understanding of Vegas residencies has changed,” English reflects. “Once upon a time it was a death sentence, a signal your career was over. Now, it’s got a completely different color to it. It’s a sign of legitimacy and icon status.”  

Ahead of its closing performance on October 29, Legend and English spoke (in separate conversations) about making Love in Las Vegas come together.   

What was the appeal of doing a Vegas residency now for both of you?  

John Legend: I think Vegas is a fun canvas to paint on; there’s already so much tradition, so much allowance to go big, and kind of the expectation that you’ll go big. It’s kind of liberating; it makes you feel like you can do things you may not have done on a normal tour.   

What was the starting concept for the show?  

Legend: We wanted to tell my story — and a lot of that was about going back to my beginnings in church, where I learned to play music, music that influenced me. We also wanted to be sure it was retrospective on my entire career so far, so music from all of my albums. We spent a lot of time thinking about the sets we’d have; we have a church set at the beginning of the show, a city block party scene that’s more about my time in Philly and New York, we have a piano bar where we get more intimate and I do a lot more solo moments, and then the Vegas celebration at the end fully embracing the spirit of Vegas and a throwback to a lot of the ‘70s references that inspired us. I think it starts from knowing who you are as an artist, basing it in who you are, the music you’ve created, your story and what makes you unique.  

English: We basically set out to make like, a movie — loosely based on John’s life, but with this ‘70s flair.  The goal was to give a nod to a certain era — in this show to this very Black ‘70s Vegas theme — but it’s gotta be new. You can be inspired by an era, but what you do has to feel contemporary. If you veer too deeply into nostalgia, it can feel camp, almost like a parody of the thing, vs. a fashionable take on a thing. 

I think the best Vegas residencies really remind the audience of the totality of who an artist is as a performer – and Love in Las Vegas does that.  

John, did you look to other recent artist residencies for inspiration at all?  

Legend: I went to see several of my friends here, and every artist who plays here has a different story. I saw Usher, Bruno and Anderson [of Silk Sonic], Gwen [Stefani]. I loved seeing Gwen’s show, reminiscing through different looks and styles she’s gone through over the years; part of what’s cool about a Vegas residency is that it’s a chance to look back and celebrate all the stories in your life that brought you where you are.  

All of them are wonderful. And my show is not like any of their shows. You see things you’d never do yourself, because it’s not you, but you love it for them. And it’s just fun to see other people’s take. 

What informed putting together the playlist for the show?  

English: The hits that end up in the show, it’s based on streaming data, the things that fans really love — and it’s a combo of that and individual things we personally felt would be really fresh and interesting and new. We took some twists and turns here and there. One of the big wins that was very intentional was starting the show off with the way people were introduced to John, with “Used to Love U.”  

Is there a hope that the residency will be a springboard to certain other things in John’s career?  

Legend: It’s a great mid-career thing – you have enough of a repertoire to sustain a residency, but you’re definitely not retiring. [ Laughs .] There’s so much ahead of us. It’s a good time to look back and celebrate, but to show people what’s next as well. Mostly, I just want to be proud of the work we do onstage; are we creating a beautiful experience for people, are we making them feel connected and loved? We wanted it to be truly uplifting and celebratory. I think we were certainly able to do that.

The EGOT-winner and Voice coach wanted to showcase "your favorite songs" during his Sin City tenure.

In 2022,  The Voice   Coach John Legend took on a new challenge for his extensive musical career: a Las Vegas residency. The EGOT winner certainly has enough of his own discography to fill multiple   nights, and his dynamic, exciting 2022 show, "Love in Las Vegas," was a great showcase of all of his work.

Legend took to Instagram in December 2021 to announce the residency, promising fans that it would be "featuring your favorite songs from my entire career… full band... beautiful show...magical night."

How long was John Legend's Las Vegas residency?

The "Love in Las Vegas" residency lasted for 24 shows in total, spanning from April 2022 to October 2022.

The residency took place in the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Why did John Legend do a Vegas residency?

Beside having a broader discography than can fit into one specific concert tour, Legend wanted to enjoy what Vegas had to offer an artist. "I think Vegas is a fun canvas to paint on; there’s already so much tradition, so much allowance to go big, and kind of the expectation that you’ll go big," he told  Billboard .  "It’s kind of liberating; it makes you feel like you can do things you may not have done on a normal tour."

He was also inspired by other artists who had done successful residencies, like Usher and Gwen Stefani . What new songs did John Legend perform in Vegas?

Much of the Vegas set included older hits from the famous artist, but it was certainly not limited to that.

The singer performed plenty of the solo piano songs from his latest album, " Legend ," including the song "Nervous," which later gained over 6 million views on YouTube. The video offered a small glimpse into Legend's residency for fans who were unable to attend live. 

What was John Legend's Vegas residency about?

The show was ultimately about Legend's career in general. "We wanted to tell my story — and a lot of that was about going back to my beginnings in church, where I learned to play music, music that influenced me," he told  Billboard.  "We also wanted to be sure it was retrospective on my entire career so far, so music from all of my albums."

Compiling years as a prolific musician into one single night is no easy feat, so the process of putting the residency together helped him narrow down what he should perform. "I think it starts from knowing who you are as an artist, basing it in who you are, the music you’ve created, your story and what makes you unique," he said.  

Will John Legend do another Vegas residency?

Legend is currently appearing on The Voice  Season 24 as a Coach, and has made appearances all around the world since his tenure, but does not have another Vegas residency on the lineup just yet. His upcoming shows  include evenings of "songs at stories" in places like the Hollywood Bowl and New York City's Beacon Theater.

The concert of John Legend was just INCREDIBLE! It was my first concert and, I found this really good. John Legend is a person so nice. During his concert he told us to never forget to say «I love you» to who we love, he’s the definition of love. His voice is the same that’s in his video, no difference, the members of the chorus, the musicians, HIM, everything was perfect! He had choose a girl of the public to slow dance with her, it was magical. I have no words to describe this concert. Thank you very much to him, he reminds us to love people who encircles us, his words are honest and completely true. Thank you again and again to John Legend and his crew.

A sublime performance! John Legend oozes charisma when on-stage and belting out his top songs, taken from his recent album 'Darkness and Light'. His entire band and the back-up singers also got their own moments to shine!

Stand-out moments from the show had to include the lucky lady, who from the front row, was picked out to dance on stage with John Legend. Also his song for his new baby daughter was beautiful.

All in all the concert was amazing. He started off with his more popular known songs that were a bit more upbeat, then moved into his slower songs while playing the piano. He had three girls singing and dancing in the background and it was very cool to see a concert with that type of style in it. There were many songs about love so for anyone in a relationship I highly recommend going with your partner for a nighr out. For anyone debating whether or not to go to the concert, if you are in to a bit slower pace than most concerts or even a concert junky like me this is definitely one you dont want to miss.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

JOHN LEGEND

EGOT-winning, critically acclaimed, multiplatinum singer-songwriter John Legend has garnered 12 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Tony Award, and an Emmy Award, among others.

Legend is the first African American man to earn an EGOT and one of only seventeen people in the prestigious EGOT club. Legend has released eight celebrated albums over the course of his career, including, Get Lifted (2004), Once Again (2006), Evolver (2008), Love in the Future (2013), Darkness and Light (2016),  A Legendary Christmas Deluxe (2019), Bigger Love (2020) and most recently, LEGEND (2022).

Late last year, Legend launched his critically acclaimed Las Vegas Residency entitled, “Love In Las Vegas” which began in April 2022 at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Legend starred as Jesus in NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live In Concert in April 2018. That year, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie and won an Emmy as a producer in the category of Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for the show.  Legend joined The Voice for Season 16 (2019) and was a coach on Season 22 (2022).

Beyond his music career, John, along with partners Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius, is a principal of Get Lifted Film Co. Their upcoming projects include the film adaptation of S.A. Cosby’s novel Blacktop Wasteland , Al Sharpton’s documentary Loudmouth , and the highly anticipated second season of the IFC/AMC comedy series Sherman’s Showcase . Get Lifted produced the Netflix films Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey and Monster ; documentary films Citizen Ashe , The Legend Of The Underground, A Crime On The Bayou , 40 Years A Prisoner , and Giving Voice ; the HBO docu-series Atlanta’s Missing And Murdered: The Lost Children , Sherman’s Showcase: Black History Month Spectacular ; and Rhythm + Flow . Get Lifted and Universal Studio Group’s UCP inked a first-look deal for unscripted series and an exclusive multi-year overall deal for scripted content. Aside from film/TV, they have partnered with Zando to form Get Lifted Books, under which they will publish brilliant authors, who have the ability to transform the conversation in both adult fiction and nonfiction as well as titles for young readers.

As an activist, Legend launched HUMANLEVEL in 2021, an initiative to uplift communities disproportionately impacted by institutionalized racism. Legend also initiated the #FREEAMERICA campaign in 2015 to change the conversation surrounding criminal justice policies and to end mass incarceration. In addition to Legend’s signature initiatives, he serves on the Board of Directors of Harlem Village Academies and Management Leadership for Tomorrow, and on the Advisory Board for The Quattrone Center for the Fair Administration of Justice at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and Teach for All.

• Entry: Arrive early! Gates open at 7 p.m. Entry to the concert is located just west of the parking garage. Please be ready to show your mobile/printed tickets along with a valid ID.
• Run of Show: COMING SOON
• Re-entry: No re-entry will be allowed for this show.
• Note: There is an 8′ height limit for the garage.
• Wheelchair-accessible suitable viewing areas are available for guests needing such accommodations. Please contact Guest Services in advance if additional assistance or accommodations are needed by emailing [email protected]
• In addition, you can also carry a small clutch purse, no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”, with or without a handle or strap.
• Bags will be screened as you enter. Security has final say on what is and isn’t permitted.
• Fun Food and Drink: Hungry or thirsty? Enjoy the culinary creations of the Momentary Food Truck and fun beverages from the RØDE Bar before and during the show. No outside food or beverages will be allowed.
• Cashless Event: Bring your credit or debit cards as we’re 100% cash-less.
• Photos and Video: Capture your favorite concert moments with a point-and-shoot camera or your phone. But please leave professional cameras, drones, selfie sticks, tripods, detachable lenses, and audio or video recording devices at home.

WHAT TO BRING AND NOT BRING TO THE CONCERT

• Valid ID and tickets to present upon entry.
• Blankets to use in designated areas, if desired.
• Free water stations will be available. Empty plastic water bottles are encouraged to help stay hydrated. (No glass, metal, or opaque plastic containers.)
• Bring your credit or debit cards. The festival is 100% cash-less.
• Rain or shine, the show will go on! Come prepared with your sunscreen, hat, raincoat or a poncho.
• All clear bags and clutch purses will be screened prior to entry. Security has final say on which bags will be permitted.

DON’T BRING

• No folding chairs or other seating is allowed at this standing-room-only concert.
• No outside food and drink, large bags, coolers, or ice chests. No pop-up shade tents or umbrellas of any kind.
• No weapons or firearms of any kind are allowed, even if you have a permit. Laser pointers, glow sticks, and illuminating objects are strictly prohibited.
• No fireworks, fuel, or explosive materials of any kind.
• No skateboards, scooters, or wheeled devices other than ADA-compliant transport.
• No kites, frisbees, inflatables, or air horns.
• No illegal substances of any kind.
• No smoking or vaping will be allowed outside of designated smoking areas.
• No posters, signs, or promotional materials. Flyers and other promotional materials cannot be distributed on Momentary property without prior approval.
• Prohibited items will not be admitted or checked. Please leave these items at home or in your locked vehicle.
