Omnistor 5002 - help with Safari Residence

Hi We've bought an Autosleeper Exec 2005 with the standard Thule Omnistor - I think it is 5000 or 5002? I want to fit the Safari Residence, so my question is, do I just buy the package (for example this ), or do I need to buy some form of adapting/ attaching it to the existing roll-out awning? Thanks  

Hi and welcome to the forum, Everything you need to attach the safari residence is included,the sides attach with clamps and the front slides into the existing awning. One thing to check is the mounting height of your existing awning,I made that mistake and the habitation door was catching on the awning rafter.  

Be VERY sure that a safari room is what you actually want before lashing out !!! Many MH owners have (and I stress HAVE) owned them and the majority it is safe to say have sold them and gone for driveaway awnings instead !! (and I am one of them) Do a search on here, this matter has been discussed a lot !!!

If its the same Safari room that I have you need to carry some steps to fit the end bars on the top canvas, ok if you have the room. Alan.

Thule presents the unparalleled Thule Panorama Safari Room, an exceptional room system that stands in a league of its own.

With its remarkable design and superior quality, this room system sets new standards.

It features a one-of-a-kind breathable material that prevents any moisture from accumulating on its Teflon-like coating.

• Panoramic windows offer breathtaking views, courtesy of their arched panels that can be smoothly rolled aside or fully unzipped.
• These versatile windows can also be rolled upwards, allowing for ventilation with the added benefit of a mosquito mesh to ensure privacy.
• Crafted from polyester material featuring an AirTex coating, they exhibit exceptional moisture resistance.
• While a wind slip is included, except for the Ducato Model, it is important to note that these skirts do not come with vehicle attachments.
• However, alternative options such as soft rubber suckers are available, eliminating the need for drilling into the vehicle. Another option is to attach them to a rail.
• If you prefer a PVC fabric, Thule G3 Residence Room is worth exploring.
• For a convenient and lightweight solution, consider the Thule QuickFit.
• Comprised of the same profiles as Thule G3 Residence Room optimal strength is achieved via clamping profiles that suspend the side sheets.
• Rubber mast profiles seal between the motorhome and the back of the side sheet providing an incomparable seal to the vehicle.
• A brace is included to support both profiles and add to the overall rigidity.
• We believe that comparatively between Thule G3 Residence and Thule Panorama  safari rooms, there are no stronger systems on the market.
• Tested in gale force winds, there is no possibility that you will take it down in bad weather. Tried and tested at each of our motorhome and caravan exhibitions, on the windiest of showgrounds.
• As there are many different models available, weight does vary. Generally the weight for this Thule Safari Room is 32kg, split between 2 bags.
• Thule Panorama Room is in fact the lightest of Thule long stay rooms. Whilst maintaining market leading strength for motorhome & caravan rooms.

• Generally on newer models of Thule awnings, brackets are pre fitted inside the awning cassette. Depending on your model, these brackets need a single screw to fit.

Recently had the 8000XL 5.5m wide version purchased and fitted to our Hymer by Rose Awnings. Great experience all round, from first contact to fitting to practical demonstration to post-sale support (which amounted to one question about something we had already been walked through but had forgotten). The weight to practicality ratio of the Panorama Room is really useful, and John & Daniel did an excellent job of fitting and making sure we understood how to put it up. Brilliant! We bought a 4.5m Panorama Room from Rose Awnings for our Adria motorhome. Used it for 6 weeks this winter in Spain and found it to be a very high quality room. EAsy to put up and a good, strong wind tight fit to the motorhome side. We bespoked the draught skirt with support from Dan and John. Very light and airy in use with good curtains for the evening. Withstood strong winter winds and rain. Packs down well into two bags for storage which together weigh a lot less than our previous air beam awning, also a lot less bulky. Great fitting service by Rose Awnings involving adjusting the wind out roof arm to avoid fouling the habitation door. Highly recommend the product and the company.

Really impressed with Rose Awnings. Bought a Panorama room in early 2021 and some accesssories since. Prices were very competitive, delivery was well packaged and arrived quickly, and they actually understand the products they sell, which can be rare nowadays. I was given some really helpful fitting and use tips. When I lost a small part 10 months later, they even sent me two replacements free of charge. Can’t ask for more than that in my view – keep up the great service guys. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend, and will be back next time I need anything you sell.

Our engineers have invented an awning equipped with a small roller tube which enables a huge weight reduction, while increasing stability and optimizing fabric tension. New design: oval support legs. Plus, they also have a new function: when dropped vertically the support legs reduce the risk of damaging your vehicle. Fabric is composed of one single sheet and welded joints allow a perfectly waterproof and long-lasting awning. The unique new thule cassette adjustment system means perfect closing of the awning even after years of usage The anthracite cassette finish is only available for 2.60m and 3.00m awning lengths
