Singapore holidays offer a fascinating food scene, endless shopping and outdoor activities based around Singapore’s lush gardens, green spaces, marinas and islands.

• The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve offers the chance to explore a patch of primary rainforest

• Gardens by the Bay is an impressive horticultural destination built on 101 hectares of reclaimed land

• The island of Sentosa is a playground for adults and children alike, with a range of attractions such as Universal Studios

• Singapore’s Chinatown is one of many vibrant cultural districts, with labyrinth streets of Chinese stores, atmospheric temples, chic shops, boutique hotels and delicious eateries

• Singapore has its own Michelin guide, with the red book having made its debut in 2016, crowning 29 establishments

There isn’t a great deal of climatic variation, with Singapore hot and humid year round, but April and May are especially hot, while March and September are susceptible to the highest humidity. There are two main monsoon seasons, when you can expect it to rain more than usual: December-March and June-September; January is probably the coolest option temperature wise.

With such high temperatures, clothing made from natural materials is probably wisest. Singaporeans are a smart bunch though and do also like to dress up for a night out, so some fancier clothes will also be a wise packing choice. Have an umbrella – both in case of that rainfall, or to provide some vital shade. Bug repellent would also be a good idea. And if you plan on doing activities, take light sports gear – and definitely comfortable shoes to make the most of this busy city.

Central Singapore

The old colonial part of the city to the north and east of the river features many of Singapore’s most iconic attractions including the legendary Raffles hotel , which dates from 1887 and is still one of the world’s most famous hotels with its colonial architecture and leafy courtyards. Another major reason for visiting the downtown area is the Orchard Road shopping street, which stretches for more than two kilometres, while there are also a host of fascinating museums to visit. An iconic modern sight is the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, which is an entertainment complex known locally as “the big durians” after the tropical fruit that’s renowned for its distinctive – and frankly pretty unpleasant - smell.

singapore tour package from dubai

Visiting this area to the south of central Singapore allows you a glimpse into what life used to be like when the Chinese came to live here. Despite the city’s modern developments, there are still some of the original narrow streets remaining, which are packed with food stalls, gold traders, medicinal shops and teahouses. It’s also a great district for foodies to try traditional treats such as stir-fried noodles or satay meat skewers. More upscale restaurants and bars are located in the Neil Road and Duxton Road areas, while locals tend to head for Club Street and Ann Siang Road at the weekend for dinner or a drink. The area around Pagoda Street is the place to head for the best shopping in the district.

Little India

This is another buzzing ethnic district, lying just to the north of the historic downtown area. Little India’s main thoroughfare, Serangoon Road , is packed with eye-catching Hindu and Chinese temples, alongside the mosques and churches that reflect Singapore’s religious and ethnic diversity. Also head to this area to enjoy authentic Indian food, including both vegetarian and tandoori dishes. Shopping is also a highlight, with plenty of other stores selling everything from gold and jewellery to saris and souvenirs and have a browse at the famous 24-hour Mustafa Centre , said to stock a staggering 300,000 items.

Western Singapore

A century ago, this part of the country was dominated by swamps and thick jungle but it has now developed into the second most populated part of Singapore. The centre of the district is Jurong in the south-west. While it’s mostly known as an industrial area, there are several reasons for tourists to visit including Jurong Bird Park with its impressive array of more than 400 species. The park is set on the 60-metre Jurong Hill , which also features a lookout tower with fantastic views around Singapore. Other Jurong attractions include Singapore Discovery Centre , which looks at the history of the country and how the future may enfold, while the Chinese and Japanese Gardens are popular with local residents for picnics.

This resort island to the south of Singapore itself attracts more than 20 million visitors every year. Sentosa is easily reached from the centre of the city by bus, the MRT rail system or taxi. There are plenty of attractions ranging from a two-kilometre beach and two golf courses to the vast Resorts World Sentosa entertainment complex, which includes the Universal Studios Singapore theme park, Adventure Cove Water Park , SEA Aquarium and one of Singapore’s two casinos. The island was once used as a British military fortress to protect Singapore from seaborne attacks a story told at Fort Siloso, which is now a museum. The island was renamed as Sentosa, which means “peace and tranquility” in Malay, in the early 1970s before opening up as a leisure destination in 1975.

Food is one of the destination’s main attractions, with an enticing range of Asian cuisines including Malay, Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese and Japanese, alongside many restaurants serving international fare. Singapore does not really have its own cuisine as such, although nonya, which is a mixture of Malay and Chinese, comes close. The city is best known for its noodle and seafood dishes – chilli crab is a genuine Singaporean specialty. For an authentic experience, try one of the many ‘hawker’ stalls that offer excellent local dishes in affordable and informal establishments.

Although Singapore offers fantastic cuisine, Hong Kong is also a foodies paradise – with 60-plus Michelin-starred restaurants and endless streetfood stalls and weird and wonderful local delicacies. Hong Kong is definitely a perfect destination for food-lovers.

Experience a melting pot of Asian And European cultures and influences on your Singapore holiday, which is reflected in the wide range of languages spoken and religions practiced by the many different ethnic groups, along with their many colourful festivals. Singapore prides itself as being ordered and organised, with an emphasis on cleanliness. Several laws to be aware of that are rigorously enforced include bans on chewing gum, jaywalking, littering, spitting or even feeding monkeys. It’s worth bearing these offences in mind, otherwise you could face an on-the-spot fine.

Whilst Singapore offers a unique atmosphere, most countries in the Fast East are steeped in their own unique culture. If discovery is an important aspect of your trip then our Vietnam holidays and Thailand holidays may interest you.

Holidays to Singapore have plenty to offer the wildlife enthusiast. The famous Night Safari zoo tour is one of the most popular options as gives the chance to spot more then 130 species of animals, including tigers and elephants, on trams and walking trails after dark. Neighbouring Singapore Zoo has more than 2,800 residents with top attractions such as orangutans and flying foxes. Bukit Timah Nature Reserve in the centre of the island is a protected rainforest area that’s home to long-tailed macaque monkeys, pythons and dozens of bird species.

If spotting some of the most amazing creatures our planet has to offer interests you, then you should also check out our Malaysia holidays which gives you the opportunity to see wildlife in their natural habitats. You can find Bornean orangutan, Malayan tigers and Indian elephants, important species of the Malaysian culture.

Singapore’s history dates back to the third century and the island later became an important port and trading post during the 14th century. From 1819 onwards, the British starting using the city as a stopping point for ships on the way to India while many Chinese and Indian migrants arrived to work at the port. The British surrendered control of Singapore to the Japanese in 1942 during World War II. After the war, Britain resumed control of the island until Singapore finally became an independent nation in 1965.

As well as Singapore's intriguing past, our Bali holidays also offer you the opportunity to discover an interesting and diverse history. The earliest written records of Bali are stone inscriptions dating back to the 9th century and provide some of the most unique trips back in time you can find in Asia.

Gardens by the Bay

One of Singapore’s most ambitious projects to date, this unique horticultural destination next to the Marina Reservoir spans 101 hectares of reclaimed land, and is made up of two main areas – Bay South Garden and Bay East Garden. In the south are the Supertrees – two tree-shaped vertical gardens between nine and 16 storeys tall that are connected by a suspended walkway; at night, there is a stunning light and sound show. Bay East Garden has expansive lush lawns and tropical palm trees, perfect for a bit of downtime in between sightseeing, or a picnic. There is also a Cloud Forest , where you will find the world’s tallest indoor waterfall and a 35-metre tall mountain veiled in mist and covered in vegetation.

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

Set in Chinatown , this $75 million Tang-styled Chinese Buddhist temple was only opened in 2007 but evokes hundreds of years of history. It is home to what Buddhists believe to be the left tooth of Buddha, which was recovered from his funeral pyre in Kushinagar, India and is now displayed in the temple grounds. Free weekly guided tours are available and include the Hundred Dragons Hall, which houses a hundred Buddha statues, and the Universal Wisdom Hall, filled with handcrafted Bodhisattva artworks.

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

Said to contain more species of trees than in the entire continent of North America, the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is a nature-lovers’ dream. First established as a reserve in 1883, the park reopened in 2016 after a two-year restoration project; there are now boardwalks over swampy areas, rope handrails along some stretches of the trails, and a non-slip trail surface, all of which are designed to allow visitors to enjoy the area while also preserving this rainforest environment on the slopes of Bukit Timah Hill , Singapore's highest.

Esplanade Theatres on the Bay

Even if you are not going to check out one of the many shows at the twin Esplanade Theatres, go along anyway to soak up the atmosphere and incredible architecture of these two “durian shell” buildings, or even take a backstage tour. Not too far from here is Singapore’s most famed icon, the Merlion , a mythical creature that’s half-fish and half-lion and stands proudly overlooking the bay at Merlion Park.

Singapore Botanic Gardens

There are 60,000 reasons to visit this exquisite corner of Singapore – having that many plants makes it a nature lovers’ paradise and it has also now been recognized as the country’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site . There has been a park here for 150 years and while the whole place is wonderful, many people will make an immediate beeline for the National Orchid Garden where among the blooms are 200 plants named after VIPs such as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Nelson Mandela.

Night Safari

The world’s first safari park for nocturnal animals was opened in 1994 and is home to more 2,500 animals of over 130 species, of which 38% are threatened. Visitors explore the park on a 40-minute tram ride through seven geographic regions, while interlinked walking trails also offer the chance of an encounter with threatened and endangered species such as the pangolin and clouded leopard. Night Safari sits under the umbrella of Wildlife Reserves Singapore , which also includes Jurong Bird Park , Singapore Zoo and River Safari .

National Gallery

At the National Gallery Singapore , two of Singapore’s most significant historical buildings – the former Supreme Court and the City Hall – have recently been cleverly merged. Come to Singapore’s largest museum to appreciate the art and architecture, but also be wowed by the views from the rooftop bar, Smoke and Mirrors.

Peranakan Museum

Get to know one of Singapore’s most vibrant and historic communities at this charming museum. Peranakan means ‘locally born’ in Malay, and refers to the descendants of foreign traders who married local women in south-east Asia centuries ago. Singapore’s Peranakan community is mostly Peranakan Chinese, descendants of Chinese traders who settled in the busy ports of Penang and Singapore in the 19th century. Combine this with a visit to the Joo Chiat/Katong area, filled with preserved shophouses and colonial bungalows, many now home to boutiques and restaurants, as well as The Intan, a charming private home-museum.

Here are the places to visit in this enchanting city

Universal studio.

Singapore is home to one of the most fun-filled adventure parks in the world. As a matter of the fact that Universal studio is international with adrenaline rushing rides and unique world-famous themes, it has an outstanding reputation of attracting tourists from all over the world. The park has 24 major rides along with seven themed zones. Moreover, shows and entertainments are provided for the people of all age groups.

  • Singapore Zoo

The Singapore zoo is just amazing with four options to choose from

  • Jurong Birds Park
  • Night Safari
  • River Safari

You can also choooe the four options all together in which our favorite is night safari. During night safari, you can say hello to over 1,000 animals in their natural nighttime habitat. The zoo is a 28 hectares land filled with plenty of animals, birds, and plants. If you are a nature lover or an animal lover, you will definitely love this place.

The cloud forest

The cloud forest is a fantasy world built by man. The cloud forest itself is a new and unique concept with planted walls and artificial waterfalls. The place is filled with rare plants and also features a 35-meter high hill covered in lush vegetation, which is also the tallest indoor waterfall in the whole world. You can walk around this human-made wonder, click some pictures and enjoy yourself.

Singapore botanic garden

Singapore botanical garden has 314 species of plants, three lakes, and 47 heritage tree. Nature enthusiasts can make a house and stay at this place forever since the garden is presented so beautifully. The entrance to this Singapore botanical garden is free of cost, and we recommend you to explore this fantastic place as much as you can.

Singapore street food

Street food is not a “place” for your visit. But being in a place where you have the opportunity to taste fantastic food is something exceptional. Singapore is pretty expensive, but Singapore street food is not that expensive. Walk around the streets, especially China town and eat whatever you feel like trying.

Sentosa Island

Do not expect an island life in Sentosa, but there are plenty of things to watch there. The island has vast shopping malls and an aquarium. The S.E.A Aquarium hosts more than 100.000 fishes and sea creatures, and it is a top-rated attraction on Sentosa Island. Kids would love this destination — so gear up for a marine life adventure.

Best Personalized Travel Packages to Top Destinations on Klook

Traveling is no less than an art form, and today, the world is your oyster when it comes to travel. So, finding the right platform for making your experience all the better is critical. In fact, it might very well end up shaping the entire trajectory of one’s journey. This is where Klook (short for “Keep Looking”) stands out from the rest. This reputed Southeast Asian travel brand is not like other traditional tour agencies that offer fixed travel packages. Rather, they let you decide just how you want to spend your vacation. In fact, Klook packages have a wide selection of things to do for every destination, along with offering support for them. So, if you have the choice of an amazing day tour, you’ll even find ticket choices, car rental options, and even hotels. Plus, Klook’s destinations aren’t just local Asian ones but around the world.

Clearly, Klook’s offerings have made planning adventures, whether weekend getaways or international ones, much easier. The best bit is that you can customize your itinerary by choosing experiences that you love and prefer, and at a not-so-exorbitant, friendlier price tag, too. Here’s a lowdown of the best personalized travel options to the top destinations on Klook.

One of Asia’s top destinations on Klook is the former fishing village and the tiny island of Singapore. The modern “Garden City” has so much to explore, and Klook makes sure that you don’t have to miss out on anything or burn a hole in your pocket. Plus, booking through Klook is an easy way to not only save money, but also earn credits against future bookings.

For instance, one of the most popular Singapore Klook packages and tours is the Singapore River Cruise, a 40-minute amazing joyride down the scenic river abroad an iconic bumboat. What’s more, Klook even offers a special add-on of a specially curated seafood menu for 4 travelers at Clarke Quay! If you want to visit the Singapore National Museum, the process is a breeze. All you need to do is show the QR code on the confirmed Klook booking at the ticket counter and exchange it for a ticket!

If that wasn’t enough, Klook also offers unique tours like ziplining adventures at Mega Adventure Park, complete with options for different activities, a Klook Singapore duck tour, hop-on and hop-off tours, pottery workshops, and even breakfasting at Singapore Zoo, one of the world’s most fascinating zoos .

Singapore - by Klook

Klook’s recommended trip duration for Dubai is three days. But judging by the sheer number of experiences they offer, we’re sure even three weeks will be less to explore this shimmering desert metropolis! Tucked in the northern United Arab Emirates, Dubai is flamboyant, extravagant, and simply magnificent. It’s home to not just world-class shopping, dining, and entertainment but also a slew of architectural wonders, including the Burj Khalifa, one of the world’s tallest skyscrapers even today. It’s also home to some of the world’s most luxurious and expensive hotels, eye-popping artificial islands, and mesmerizing fountains .

So, it’s not surprising that Klook’s Dubai offerings range from observation decks, museums, and other attractions to swanky hotels and even private car charters. For instance, the ticket for the Burj Khalifa At the Top Observation Deck has a slew of standard and combo deals, which include prime/non-prime hours, skip-the-line options, and even choices for including an edge walk, a three-course menu at the Burj Club, and whatnot!

There’s also the Dubai Marina Dhow Cruise, which has options for a cruise and two buffet dinners, and Desert Safari Tours, which has options for morning, evening, or overnight tours, and even the choice of adding quad bike rides to your package.

Japan’s bustling capital, Tokyo, is a mind-boggling juxtaposition of impressive, neon-lit skyscrapers to 1000-year-old historic temples. The city sits on the island of Honshu overlooking Tokyo Bay and effusively yokes the past and the future.

With Japan being home to one of the world’s most impressive railway systems and amongst the world’s fastest trains , it’s no surprise that it has a separate section dedicated to rail passes when it comes to Klook Tokyo packages! But that’s not all. For instance, the Tokyo Highlights Private Day Tour will take you to the city’s largest and oldest ancient Buddhist temple, Sensō-ji, followed by a visit to Japan’s tallest tower, Tokyo SkyTree. Of course, there’s also the magic of Tokyo Disneyland, which is home to the only Tokyo DisneySea in the world! And Klook offers easy ticket booking for both attractions in one travel option.

If all that wasn’t enough, the Mount Fuji instagrammable spots day tour will take you to soak in the best views of the venerated mountain. The best bit? The tour package includes options for lunch (set Japanese or steak Chinese lunches) and even guides (English/Chinese/Korean-speaking guides). So, it’s easy to see why Klook is perfect for exploring Tokyo’s blend of tradition and modernism.

The City of Love and Lights needs no introduction, does it? Welcome to Paris, the capital of France and what is universally regarded as the most romantic city in the world. We’ve honestly lost count of the number of movies the Eiffel Tower has appeared in, as has the Louvre Museum and its crown jewel, the Mona Lisa. Landmarks aside, the city sits on the peaceful Seine, making sightseeing via water a very popular Klook Paris activity. The Seine River Cruise, for instance, is a different take, as it had the option of experiencing Paris’s culinary delights on the boat restaurant. Not only does Klook have both lunch and dinner options, but they even have an option for a romantic cruise!

Klook has multiple options for the Palace of Versailles, one of the top things to do in Paris . While one offers a guided, skip-the-line tour with multiple language options, the other offers options for all-access, join-in, and private tours. However, one of the best package options we found for Paris was the combo ones offered, like the Louvre and Seine River sightseeing cruise. Of course, the Louvre ticket also had several options, with multi-guides, Mona Lisa access, and one even with a bus ticket for those who want transport too.

Billed as the “Pearl of the Andaman,” Phuket is one of the best beach destinations in the world and has some of Thailand’s best beaches . It’s the perfect place to ride some waves, get a tan, and indulge in a whole lot of water activities like jet skiing, parasailing, and fishing. What’s great is that Phuket’s Klook packages and tours combine sightseeing and adventures in one, like the day trip to Bamboo & Khai islands and Phi Phi, which includes snorkeling in Phi Phi. The day tour to Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island, on the other hand, not only includes sea canoeing and cave kayaking but also a visit to the reclining Buddha at the Suwankuha temple as well as checking out a unique floating fishing community and village.

Back on land, Klook offers some excellent cultural and sightseeing tours, like the Phuket Discovery tour. This half-day excursion takes you not just to Wat Chalong Temple and Big Buddha but also to Old Town with Sino-Portuguese architecture and the viewpoint at Khao Rang Hill. And, of course, there are even packages for visiting the amazing Patong Beach and its Bangla Road nightlife for shopping.

Beach escapes in Asia don’t get any better than at Bali, a.k.a. the Island of the Gods. There are so many reasons why you should visit Bali , and it’s not just for the world’s most fabulous beaches – it also has many cultural hotspots.

One of the most popular Klook Bali tours is the Bali full-day customized tour, which allows you to choose between East, Central, West, North, and South Bali tours. It also has options for a waterfalls-only tour, a cultural tour of Ubud, and even a volcano tour. When it comes to adventure, there is no dearth of choices that travelers have in Bali, like the Combo Ayung River Rafting and ATV Tour, which also includes a delicious Indonesian buffet lunch. Plus, you also get to choose whether you want to ride the ATV solo or tandem and even whether you want a pickup from the hotel.

Do check out the Rice Field Trekking and Waterfalls Day Tour of North Bali, which is a cool way for your entire family or friends to enjoy. Thanks to the many ferry ticket and private boat rental options that Klook offers, you can even enjoy island hopping or spend an entire day on the waters of the Bali Sea.

That said, water babies will have their pick of choices when it comes to aqua adventures on the island. Beginner scuba divers should check out the USS Liberty Shipwreck Scuba Diving Tour, which allows you to choose how many people you want on the tour. Plus, those who are interested in surfing will love 27 Surf Bali’s Surfing Lesson at Kuta Beach, which has options for hotel transfers and even insurance. What more could you ask for?

Cool things to do in Singapore

Now that you know all about the important places to visit in Singapore, we would also recommend that you take out some time for some authentic and offbeat experiences during your Singapore trip.

Here are some cool and interesting things to do in Singapore, which will elevate your Singapore itinerary beyond the normal to the extraordinary!

Explore authentic local neighbourhoods

No country exemplifies cultural and religious fusion better than Singapore does. Learn a little more about some of these cultures that contribute to Singapore tourism by exploring some of the ethnic neighbourhoods. Explore Chinatown , the vibrant neighbourhood characterized by red Chinese lanterns, scores of eateries and shopfronts, ancient heritage homes and upscale boutiques all co-existing cheerfully. The key Singapore tourist attractions here are the Chinese Heritage Centre, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and the Sri Mariamman Hindu temple. Walk around Little India and the Arab Street areas, colourful neighbourhoods known for their celebrations of traditional festivals. The Sri Veeramakaliamma Temple and the Sultan Mosque are important places to see here.

Take your kids on the Night Safari

Nightlife of a different kind! The Singapore Night Safari is the world’s first nocturnal park, and is open only at night, every night. It is one of the most awarded Singapore tourist places and is very popular especially with children. The park can be toured conveniently via tram, and offers the opportunity to see nocturnal animals from different continents such as the Malayan Tiger, Asian Lion, Nile Hippo, White African Lion, Leopard, Giant Flying Squirrel, Tapir, Pangolin, Loris and more. If you are booking a Singapore package with your family, do ensure that you include this place in your Singapore itinerary. Children will also love the “Creatures of the Night” show.

Pick an adrenalin-pumping adventure

This destination offers a ton of options for the thrill-seekers looking to add an element of adventure to their Singapore holiday. At iFly Singapore on Sentosa Island, you will find the world’s largest wind tunnel for indoor skydiving. Also at Sentosa, you can try Bungy jumping with a view of Siloso beach, or enjoy the Giant Swing that takes you 40m high at speeds reaching 100km/hr. For those who love cars, Singapore offers the opportunity to drive Super Cars like the Lamborghini Huracan or the McLaren 12C on the Singapore F1 race route! Water sports enthusiasts can pick from knee-boarding, wakeboarding, and cable skiing at Singapore Wake Park , or enjoy stand-up paddling at Tanjong beach . Snorkelling and Scuba diving are also available at various island sites around Singapore. Add an adventurous twist to your Singapore honeymoon package by picking from any of these experiences!

Go on a Street Food exploration

Singapore is a true haven for the foodie. The Hawker centres here are a Singapore attraction in their own right. Hawker centres of Singapore are essentially groups of street food stalls arranged like food courts, offering everything from snacks to entire meals. A Singapore holiday is incomplete without experiencing at least one of these. Try the Chinatown Complex or the Old Airport Road Food Centre to eat like a local. The Hong Lim Food Centre and Golden Mile Food Centre are not only amazingly good, they also offer some vegetarian options. Alternatively, explore Bugis Street for its various street food options.

Admire the colourful Ann Siang Hill

If you’ve seen the film “Crazy Rich Asians”, this is the place with the gorgeous pastel coloured shopfronts that was featured in the movie. Ann Siang Hill used to be the residential enclave of the wealthy in the 19 th century; it is now famous for its insta-worthy coloured shophouses and its happening cafes, boutiques, clubs and restaurants.

Take a river cruise

Starting from Clarke Quay, a River Cruise is a great and relaxing way to see some of the Singapore tourist attractions. You will experience a ride on the iconic Singapore bumboat – traditional wooden boats that were originally used to ferry cargo and people across the river. Enjoy views of Singapore attractions like the Merlion, Marina Bay Sands, Clarke Quay and the Singapore Flyer. If you take this cruise in the evening you can watch the attractions as they get illuminated. This is a great activity to include into your Singapore tour package.

Go shopping!!

Apart from Singapore sightseeing, a popular aspect of any Singapore travel package should be retail therapy! Visit Orchard Road for the latest in branded clothes and accessories, be it high street brands or haute couture. Alternatively, go to Haji Street to pick up unique finds at the independent designer stores and handicraft shops here. Bugis Street offers a lot of wallet-friendly street shopping for the fashion lovers, while the IMM Outlet Mall offers highly discounted outlet shopping for a range of fashion brands. In Little India, the Mustafa  mall is famous for offering cheap prices on a range of products.

Click your picture with the Merlion

The Merlion Park in Singapore is where the two most famous Merlion statues in Singapore can be seen – the main Merlion and a 2 metre tall Merlion “cub”. However, did you know that there are a total of 7 officially approved Merlion statues in Singapore? You can see a giant Merlion in Sentosa, and another one at Mount Faber.

Visit the world’s largest Orchid garden

The Singapore Botanic Gardens are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places to visit in Singapore if you are a nature lover. This huge garden houses over 10,000 plant species and is Singapore’s oldest existing garden space, a perfect location for a picnic or just a morning out in nature. One of the highlights of the Botanic Gardens is the National Orchid Garden , which has the world’s largest orchid display with over 60,000 plants and orchids available for visitors to marvel at. Another highlight of the Botanic Gardens is the Childrens’ Garden, where children are invited to play and learn about plant life. For a Singapore travel package with kids, this is definitely a fun thing to include in your plan.

Singapore nightlife experiences to add to your itinerary

One of the highlights of Singapore holiday packages is the vibrant nightlife of the city. Here are a few things to do in Singapore, without which your Singapore itinerary is incomplete. If you are looking to book a Singapore honeymoon package, pay special attention!

Sip on a cocktail

Singapore is known for its cocktail scene, replete with unique creations by some of the top-rated mixologists. The very famous Singapore Sling is a classic cocktail - a medley of gin, cherry brandy, benedictine, grenadine, and Cointreau, mellowed with lime and pineapple juice. The best place to have this drink is of course where it was invented – the Long Bar at The Raffles. The Raffles is set to reopen after an extensive renovation in 2019. Another cool version is Nutmeg & Clove’s Barrel Aged Singapura Sling , designed by the Taiwanese bartender Kae Yin. This is a spiced hibiscus-infused Tanqueray London Dry gin with Cherry Heering, a definite must-try! When in Singapore, don’t forget to taste the Benedictine Dom , which is a mix of goji & red date syrup, orange cream citrate and aromatic bitters in a wooden cask. Served out of a porcelain cup, perched on a rattan rickshaw, its serving style adds up to its authenticity!

Spin the dice at the Marina Bay Sands

An oasis of chic, the Marina Bay is one of the most iconic amongst the Singapore attractions.  Dotted with bars along the waters and a few out in the roof, Marina Bay Sands is quite a sight at night!  The Casino here is a huge gambling space spread over 4 levels. There are over 600 table games and 1,500 slots. The Marina Bay Sands is billed as one of the world’s most expensive casino properties. Take your Lady Luck along to try your luck here!

Enjoy the high at a rooftop bar

A drink in one of the rooftop bars around Singapore with a view of the Singapore night skyline is a must-do experience on your Singapore honeymoon package! Enjoy panoramic views from the world’s highest alfresco bar on the 63 rd floor at the 1 Altitude Bar , or head to the Lantern rooftop bar at the Fullerton Bay Hotel for unobstructed views of the water and the light show at the Marina Bay Sands. You could also visit Ce La Vi, the rooftop restaurant and bar at the Marina Bay Sands, one of the most popular places to visit in Singapore for a drink thanks to its amazing views. For something more unique, how about the Supertree by IndoChine – imagine having a drink while sitting atop the tallest Supertree at the Gardens by the Bay! If you are looking for a casual night out, try Loof for local flavours, happy hour deals and DJ music.

Go Bar hopping at Clark Quay

The party hub of Singapore, Clarke Quay is known for its nightlife, earmarked by dazzling lights and a kaleidoscope of night-clubs, pubs and bars along the Singapore River. Post sunset, there is a heightened sense of excitement as the area comes alive. Of all the bars in Singapore, Clarke Quay has some of the best in the business!  The Bar Cocoon, Bamboo Bar, the Forbidden City, Bar Opiume at the Empress Place along the river, and Attica deserve special mention!

Dance the night away at a club

If you enjoy dancing and partying, then Singapore has a lot to offer you. Enjoy the vibrant and colourful party scene in Singapore along with your friends or partner. If you are on a short trip to Singapore then don’t miss Zouk , the best nightclub in Singapore. For beach parties on the weekend, you cannot go wrong with the Tanjong Beach Club on Sentosa Island. Pope will travel to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Singapore in longest trip of papacy

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis will visit Indonesia, East Timor, Papua New Guinea and Singapore in September, the Vatican announced Friday, confirming the longest trip of Francis’ papacy that is sure to test his health, stamina and mobility.

The Vatican confirmed the Sept. 2-13 visit, saying the 87-year-old pope would visit Jakarta, Indonesia; Port Moresby and Vanimo, Papua New Guinea; Dili, East Timor; and Singapore. Further details will be announced later.

Francis' health has become a source of increasing concern and speculation, even though the pontiff is able to carry on with a rigorous schedule of meetings at the Vatican and even excursions to local parishes.

Francis, who had part of one lung removed as a young man, had to cancel a planned visit to Dubai late last year after he came down with a bad case of bronchitis. He suffered from respiratory problems all winter and had to curtail his participation in Holy Week events to save his energy for Easter.

Francis has also been using a wheelchair for nearly two years because of bad knee ligaments, and has said that traveling has become increasingly more difficult.

And yet at 11 days, the trip would be the longest of Francis’ papacy, outpacing by a few days some of his long trips to the Americas early on in his 11-year papacy. It will bring the Argentine Jesuit to the world’s most populous Muslim nation, Indonesia, as well as the former Portuguese colony of East Timor, where the Catholic Church wields enormous influence.

There is also a chance of another leg to the trip being added later: This week, the Vatican foreign minister, Archbishop Paul Gallagher, was in Vietnam and discussed a papal visit, Vatican News reported, without providing details.

In a statement announcing the visit, the Indonesian foreign ministry welcomed the visit and recalled that it had originally been scheduled for 2020 but was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The visit of Pope Francis to Indonesia holds significant importance to the Indonesian people, not only for Catholics but also for all religious communities. The visit is also expected to strengthen the message of tolerance, unity and world peace,” the statement said.

Indonesia is home to roughly 242 million Muslims and 29 million Christians — 8.5 million of whom are Catholics — according to a 2022 report by the Religious Affairs Ministry.

East Timor, which today has a population of about 1.2 million people, is Southeast Asia’s only predominantly Christian nation with the exception of the Philippines. According to the 2015 census, 97.6% of East Timor’s population is Catholic.

The visit to East Timor will likely reignite attention over a clergy sex abuse scandal involving its revered independence hero and Nobel Peace Prize winner. The Vatican confirmed in 2022 that it had sanctioned Bishop Carlos Ximenes Belo following allegations that he sexually abused boys there during the 1990s. Belo is believed to now be living in Portugal.

Francis will be the first pope to visit Papua New Guinea since St. John Paul II went there in 1984. The country, in a strategically important part of the South Pacific, has struggled with tribal violence and civil unrest.

John Paul also visited Singapore, in 1986. The country today is home to 395,000 Catholics and Francis in 2022 made its archbishop Singapore's first cardinal.

In a statement welcoming the visit, Cardinal William Goh, said it “will bring renewed fervor to all Catholics in Singapore, uniting them in faith and mission, especially in these most challenging of times.”

The Vatican has planned only one other papal trip this year — to Belgium to celebrate the anniversary of the country’s Catholic university. Francis has also said he wants to return to his native Argentina , but no plans or dates have been announced.
