What channel shows the Tour de France?

You can watch the Tour de France on NBC and Peacock . You’ll get the most live coverage from Peacock because it streams every stage of the men’s and women’s races, plus the daily Tour de France Pre-Race Show . 2024 Tour de France TV schedule

This year’s Tour de France begins on June 29 in Italy before crossing into France on the fourth day. As usual, the 21-day route features a solid mix of flat to mountainous terrain. Two rest days break up the action before racers make their way to Nice—a departure from the usual Avenue des Champs-Élysées finish in Paris.

2024 Tour de France Femmes schedule

Just as the Summer Olympics wraps up in Paris, the Tour de France Femmes takes off from the Netherlands. This third edition of the women’s race features an eight-stage route that ends with a scenic climb in the Western Alpes.

The world's best cyclists have convened in Europe for the 2024 Tour de France . You'll have to wake up bright and early to catch all the action, but it is well worth it to catch cyclists take on the multi-stage men's bicycle race happening (mostly) in France.

2024 Tour de France: Dates and details

Competition for the 2024 Tour de France is scheduled from June 29, 2024 - July 21, 2024. Every stage of the Tour de France will broadcast on Peacock, with Stage 8 (July 6) and Stage 14 (July 13) also airing live on NBC.

How to watch the 2024 Tour de France without cable

What is the Tour de France?

While the Tour's route changes each year, the 2024 Tour de France starts in Florence, Italy and finishes in Nice, France on July 21.

How does scoring work for the Tour de France?

Riders starts each stage of the race together, but earn points for their placement in various stages and for winning intermediate sprints. The leader wears a green jersey, which has become a symbol of the points classification competition, which is a secondary competition that awards points to riders for their stage finishes and intermediate sprint victories.

The winner of the Tour de France is the rider with the shortest overall combined time of every stage of the race.  The 2024 Tour de France will feature an individual time trial from Monaco to Nice as the final stage.

The 2022 Tour de France begins on Friday, July 1st with a 13.3km individual time trial through Copenhagen, Denmark. (Yes, Denmark!) So it’s time to start planning how you’re going to watch it.

Whether that means streaming from your phone, starting your morning with the previous day’s highlights, or inviting your friends over for a viewing party, the options for watching the Tour de France are plentiful.

For the Fanatics

In general, NBC offers the most accessible and affordable (and legal) options for American viewers to watch the Tour de France through its Peacock Premium streaming service for $4.99 a month. Riders to Watch

Slovenia’s Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) has won the last two Tours and starts this year’s race as the overwhelming favorite. He can do it all: climb, descend, time trial–even the cobblestones of Belgium and Northern France have proven to be no match for the 23-year-old. Assuming he avoids crashes and bad luck during the Tour’s dangerous first week , he should have little trouble taking his third win.

Pogačar’s biggest challenge should come from Jumbo-Visma’s co-captains, Slovenia’s Primož Roglič and Denmark’s Jonas Vingegaard, who finished second to Pogačar in 2020 and 2021, respectively. If they can play to one another’s strengths and avoid worrying about which one is their team’s “true” leader, then they might have a chance to dethrone the two-time defending champ.

The INEOS Grenadiers have won seven of the last ten Tours de France with four different riders–so clearly they know what it takes to win the world’s biggest bike race. But Pogačar’s proven to be a tough nut for the British super team to crack. This year we expect them to count on a mix of both old and new in their bid to reclaim the yellow jersey, with co-captains Geraint Thomas, who won the Tour in 2018, and Daniel Martinez, who’s riding only his third Tour and his first as his team’s protected rider, expected to lead the way.

Other riders to keep an eye on include Australia’s Ben O’Connor, Russia’s Aleksandr Vlasov (BORA-hansgrohe), and Colombia’s Rigoberto Uran (EF Education-EasyPost).

Since getting hooked on pro cycling while watching Lance Armstrong win the 1993 U.S. Pro Championship in Philadelphia, longtime Bicycling contributor Whit Yost has raced on Belgian cobbles, helped build a European pro team, and piloted that team from Malaysia to Mont Ventoux as an assistant director sportif. Today will be the final time we see record stage winner Sir Mark Cavendish ride in the Tour de France.

He has now picked up five stage wins and don't bet against him claiming a sixth. Richard Carapaz is set to be crowned King of the Mountains after his brilliant finish to the race. Biniam Girmay will win the Green Jersey.

How to watch stage 20 of the 2024 Tour de France

The 2024 Tour de France nears its end with just five more stages to go before the finish in Nice. Friday's stage 19 brings the race nearly back to where the action started in the Alps.

The next two stages are short but packed with climbing as the Tour de France overall contenders fight to move up in the GC standings .

Race leader Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) goes into the last two stages of the race with an advantage of 5:03 on defending champion Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) with Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-Quickstep) in third place at 7:01 in arrears.

Pogačar's final challenges include stage 20, only 132.8 kilometres long and with and four climbs ending on the Col de la Couillole before the final individual time trial in Nice.

Livestream Tour de France 2024 in the US

Limited linear TV coverage of this year's Tour de France will be broadcast on NBC, with the network showing Stage 8 (Saturday, July 6) and Stage 14 (Saturday, July 13) live at 8 a.m. ET, as well as encore coverage of the penultimate Stage 20 (Saturday, July 20) at 4 p.m. ET.

Quick tips for streaming Tour de France 2024 using a VPN

However, this year is going to be a bit different because the Summer Olympics is set to begin in Paris just days after the Tour de France is scheduled to end, so the French capital is not serving as the location of a stage for the first time in the race's history. But many of the world's best cyclists are still set to compete in a true endurance test, including two-time defending champion Jonas Vingegaard.

How to watch the Tour de France 2024 in the US

NBC Sports is handling coverage of the Tour de France 2024 in the US, with a couple of live stages available on NBC, but most of the race is available live exclusively on Peacock .

All 21 stages of the Tour de France this year are going to be available to stream live on Peacock, so if you want to watch the race from beginning to end, you must be signed up for the streaming service. The good news is that you can sign up for either Peacock plan (Peacock Premium at $5.99 per month or Peacock Premium Plus at $11.99 per month) to watch.

Cycling fans in the UK will be able to watch all of the Tour de France for free on ITV and ITVX . For anyone in Wales looking for Welsh-language commentary, the race will also air for free on S4C in the country (also available on BBC iPlayer ).

The 110th Tour de France is set to begin this weekend as competitors chase yellow jerseys and the overall top prize throughout the next month. The event will conclude in Paris after 21 stages with one racer being crowned the champion.

When does the 2023 Tour de France begin?

The Tour de France does not actually begin in France.

The competition begins on Saturday, July 1, with the Grand Depart in Bilbao, Spain. Racers will cross over into France in Stage 3 and remain there until they cross the final finish line.

2023 Tour de France prize money

The total prize money for this year’s competition is €2,308,200, which is around $2.5 million.

The winner will take home €500,000 (around $546,000), the second-place finisher will earn €200,000 (around $218,000) and third place will collect €100,000 (around $109,000).

Who will race in the Tour de France 2023?

Each of the last three Tour winners will be racing in 2023.

Jonas Vingegaard of Denmark is looking for a repeat after emerging victorious in 2022. Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia already has a back-to-back under his belt, winning consecutively in 2020 and 2021. Egan Bernal of Colombia, the 2019 winner, is eyeing his second Tour title.

Mark Cavendish’s last ride will also be something to watch. The 38-year-old from Great Britain is tied for the all-time record in Tour stage wins (34) and said 2023 will be his final season.

As for the U.S., six Americans will participate this year: Lawson Craddock, Matteo Jorgenson, Sepp Kuss, Neilson Powless, Quinn Simmons and Kevin Vermaerke. Powless’ 12th-place finish last year was the best finish by an American in the competition since 2015.

In all, 22 teams will compete in the 2023 Tour de France. Each team has 10 members, two of whom are substitutes.

Tadej Pogacar defends his surprise title from September, when he became the first Slovenian to win cycling’s most prestigious stage race.

Pogacar, then 21, was the second-youngest winner in race history, after Henri Cornet in 1904. (Cornet won after the first four finishers were disqualified for unspecified cheating. The 19-year-old Frenchman rode 21 miles with a flat tire during the last stage after spectators reportedly threw nails on the road.)

Pogacar was the first man to win a Tour in his debut since Frenchman Laurent Fignon in 1983. And the first in more than 60 years to pedal in the yellow jersey for the first time on the final day of a Tour.

Fellow Slovenian Primoz Roglic , the 2020 Tour leader for nearly two weeks before ceding in the time trial on the penultimate day, also returns. Roglic is supported by a strong team of climbers, including American Sepp Kuss .

Chris Froome , a four-time champion, races the Tour for the first time since 2018 and with his new team, Israel Start-Up Nation.

Froome is coming back from a June 2019 crash, where he slammed into the wall of a house at 34 miles per hour after losing control on a training ride. He broke his right femur, elbow and several ribs, was in intensive care and underwent surgery for several hours. He is not a general classification contender.

Past Tour champions Geraint Thomas and Vincenzo Nibali are also in the field. It’s the first time that four past Tour winners start the race since 2009 (if you include Lance Armstrong ) or 1993 (if you don’t include Armstrong).

The 108th edition of the Tour de France starts Saturday 26 June in Brest, where the world's best cyclists will battle it out for the iconic yellow jersey.

2023 Tour de France prize money

The total prize money for this year’s competition is €2,308,200, which is around $2.5 million.

The winner will take home €500,000 (around $546,000), the second-place finisher will earn €200,000 (around $218,000) and third place will collect €100,000 (around $109,000).

Who will race in the Tour de France 2023?

Each of the last three Tour winners will be racing in 2023.

Jonas Vingegaard of Denmark is looking for a repeat after emerging victorious in 2022. Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia already has a back-to-back under his belt, winning consecutively in 2020 and 2021. Egan Bernal of Colombia, the 2019 winner, is eyeing his second Tour title.

Mark Cavendish’s last ride will also be something to watch. The 38-year-old from Great Britain is tied for the all-time record in Tour stage wins (34) and said 2023 will be his final season.

As for the U.S., six Americans will participate this year: Lawson Craddock, Matteo Jorgenson, Sepp Kuss, Neilson Powless, Quinn Simmons and Kevin Vermaerke. Powless’ 12th-place finish last year was the best finish by an American in the competition since 2015.

In all, 22 teams will compete in the 2023 Tour de France. Each team has 10 members, two of whom are substitutes.

Coupe de France de football : l'ASSP veut faire sauter le bouchon de champagne

Après Clairefontaine, antre de l'Equipe de France de football, où ils avaient pris leurs quartiers depuis leur atterrissage en Hexagone, les joueurs et équipe dirigeante de l'Association Sportive Saint-Pierraise ont pris la direction de Reims dans l'un des bus de la Fédération Française et des Bleus. Vendredi, ils ont fait leur dernier entraînement sur place.

L'occasion de se préparer en évitant la pression autant que possible, qui parfois annihile les efforts et paralyse en jouant de mauvais tours (notamment de Coupe !). Et aussi de trouver "chaussures à leurs pieds".

Cyclassics: Niederländer Kooij siegt - Schwere Stürze beim Hobbyrennen

Der Niederländer Olav Kooij hat die 27. Cyclassics in Hamburg gewonnen und beim Sprinter-Gipfel einige Tour-de-France-Stars hinter sich gelassen. Beim Hobbyrennen war es zuvor zu schweren Stürzen gekommen. Mindestens sechs Radsportler seien verletzt worden, so die Veranstalter.

Kooij hatte am Ende die schnellsten Beine, im Massensprint siegte der 22-Jährige vom Spitzenteam Visma-Lease a Bike nach 177,5 Kilometern vor dem Italiener Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) und Biniam Girmay aus Eritrea (Intermarche-Wanty), der bei der Frankreich-Rundfahrt das Grüne Trikot gewonnen hatte. Für den Niederländer war es sein 36. Sieg als Profi. "Wir sind in eine gute Position gekommen, das war wichtig kurz vor dem Ziel. Ich war gut vorbereitet und musste es nur noch durchhalten", sagte Kooij der ARD.

Nils Politt, deutscher Meister im Zeitfahren vom UAE Team Emirates, Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain-Victorious) und John Degenkolb (dsm-firmenich PostNL) hatten mit der Entscheidung am Ende nichts zu tun. Bester Deutscher wurde der gebürtige Buchholzer Nikias Arndt (Bahrain Victorious) auf Platz 17. 

Große Namen am Start

Die Cyclassics sind gemeinsam mit Eschborn-Frankfurt im Mai das wichtigste Eintagesrennen in Deutschland, traditionell setzen sich in der Hansestadt die Sprinter durch. Diesmal war das Rennen mit besonders großen Namen geschmückt.

Die in diesem Jahr jeweils dreimaligen Tour-de-France-Etappensieger Jasper Philipsen und Girmay gingen an den Start, aber auch die Top-Sprinter Tim Merlier, Milan und Arnaud De Lie. Merlier war 76 Kilometer vor dem Ziel in einen schweren Sturz mit rund 15 Fahrern verwickelt und musste aufgeben. Für die meisten betroffenen Profis ging das Rennen jedoch weiter. Auch Sprint-Altmeister Caleb Ewan aus Australien musste nach einem Sturz etwa 27 Kilometer vor Schluss verletzungsbedingt aufhören.

"Ich würde den Kurs ändern." Radprofi Simon Geschke

Der deutsche Radprofi Simon Geschke kritisierte die Kursführung: "Der Kurs ist meiner Meinung nach nicht mehr so für den modernen Radsport gemacht mit dieser sehr schmalen Abfahrt vor dem Waseberg", erklärte er. Die Stürze kurz davor seien laut dem 38-Jährigen passiert, weil jeder wisse, dass man dort nach vorn fahren muss. "Ich würde den Kurs ändern", sagte er.

Dreimalige Überquerung des Wasebergs

Bis auf die Stürze verlief das Rennen erwartungsgemäß. Sechs Profis fuhren länger als Ausreißer vorn mit, wurden aber erwartungsgemäß wieder eingeholt. Lediglich bei der dreimaligen Überquerung des Wasebergs, einem Anstieg mit einer Steigung von acht Prozent auf knapp einem Kilometer im Hamburger Westen, wurde das Hauptfeld zum Rennende etwas auseinandergezogen.

Verletzte beim Amateurrennen - Betroffene bei Bewusstsein

Überschattet wurde das Rennen der Profis am Sonntag von zwei schweren Unfällen im Feld der über 11.000 Hobby-Fahrer. Mindestens sechs Radsportler seien bei zwei Stürzen - der erste in Bevern, der zweite am Ende der nördlichen Schleife in Barmstedt - verletzt worden, so eine Cyclassics-Sprecherin. Insgesamt war laut Polizei eine niedrige zweistellige Anzahl an Radsportlern in nahegelegene Krankenhäuser gebracht worden. Ein schwer verletzter Teilnehmer wurde mit einem Rettungshubschrauber ins Krankenhaus geflogen. Alle Betroffenen seien bei Bewusstsein.

Das "Jedermann"-Rennen musste laut Polizei im Kreis Pinneberg unterbrochen werden und wurde schließlich neutralisiert - also ohne Zeitnahme - beendet. Der Wettkampf der Nachwuchsfahrer fiel aus. 

Der eigentlich für 11.15 Uhr angesetzte Start des Profirennens, nur eines von zwei Rennen in Deutschland mit UCI-World-Tour-Status, wurde um rund eine Stunde verschoben.
